The Iranian Regime is going to execute rapper Toomaj Salehi for supporting protests of Jina Aminiâs murder by the regime in his songs.
Iranian activist Elica Le Bon says, âIranians in the diaspora picked up on the fact that the regime tends not to execute people who become known to the international community. We have seen many examples of prisoners that were either released on bail or had their sentences commuted through our âsay their names to save their livesâ campaign on social media, using hashtags to garner attention for their causes, and even before social media existed, through getting the stories of political prisoners to international media outlets. Once reported on, and once the eyes shift to the regime and the reality of its pending brutality, realizing that the action is not worth the repercussions, we have seen them back down and not execute. For that reason, this is part of an urgent campaign for readers to talk about Toomaj as much as you can, using the hashtag #FreeToomaj or #ToomajSalehi. Every comment makes a difference, and if we were wrong, what did we lose by trying?â
realizing i struggle with delayed rewards because it feels like i have to endure a punishment (boring shit) before I can have the reward (fun shit) and Ive been talking about it with my therapist and i realized like. hey wait. i can just have the reward while I'm doing the boring shit. its why i like ring fit so much; i never did any workouts because it was all just getting tired and hurting but with RFA it's little micro rewards (a funny lil video game) that motivate me through the boring shit (working out). and why can't i apply that to most of my life when its applicable?
April 28, 2024 - An unintentionally funny video by a zionist propagandist shows off some good organisation and discipline at the UCLA encampment for Palestine.
Did you know? Tumblr DOES have a post length limit. Strangely, though, it's based on how many blocks of text you have. Supposedly this implies that you can have any length post so long as it's one block of text? Very strange, will have to investigate further.
So a while back, I asked the boss to register and put up âWelcome hereâ stickers at the clinic.
Theyâre roughly palm-sized stickers with a rainbow heart in a map icon. Theyâre obvious but donât take up that much space and donât interfere with anybodyâs day.
One sits on the reception desk, and one is stuck on the front door. Theyâre a small gesture that just explicitly states the LGBTQ+ community is, literally, welcome here.
Itâs very unobtrusive, and (most) people havenât mentioned it at all, but the observable results have been:
More Clients specifically adding their same sex partner as another owner on the account.
Some clients that Iâve known for a decade or more actually being comfortable enough to reveal they have a partner in conversation.
More same sex couples calling each other âdarlingâ in front of other people.
A few âMxâ titles on client files.
I want to emphasise that it is a tiny gesture, but it increases the comfort level slightly for quite a lot of people, so Iâd recommend it if your workplace can, even if you donât think itâs relevant.
The only person who has had anything vaguely negative to say has been a notorious problem client, who âdidnât see the pointâ. But obviously the stickers are not for him.
the fact that there are white people going "omg they're just like us" about people in south, south east, south west asia and africa and south america like it's some huge revelation that we're all human is so fucking dismal to me. what do you mean you never considered the personhood of the people who don't look like you or don't have your culture? why do you think that you're unique in your suffering? why do you think you deserve praise for realizing that we're all human?
Bro floor dreams hit different. Like you sleep in your bed or on a couch that's one thing. But floor dreams? Buckle in baby
In this dream I was driving with my husband on the interstate and as driving in dreams goes I can't reach the goddamn pedals. So this makes for a slippery time of course and at some point I end up rear ending the car in front of us going full speed because I'm in the back seat trying to steer the car (???). We survive of course but end up fleeing the scene because SWAT shows up and tries to take us in.
Aside from the fact that it doesn't make sense that SWAT is handling a traffic stop, we end up going to prison. But it's not just any prison. I end up getting sentenced to work in a childcare center, but my husband got the short end of the stick. Because he ends up in the Crimson Bucket.
The US Navy takes my husband to the middle of the ocean via helicopter, and a massive, reddish structure rises from the waves. It's made up of hundreds of cells that are kinda shaped like cassette tapes, and these launch from the structure to receive prisoners or whatever. So they deposit him in one of these cassette-cells and it reattaches to the main structure and the whole thing sinks beneath the waves again. This dystopian, maximum security black ops site straight up swallows my husband forever like a kraken.
And as it sinks into the depts, I hear someone say in a rueful tone, "The Crimson Bucket. You go in, then you go under. And there's no re-winding."
I woke up in a cold sweat after that with that phrase echoing in my mind
âaverage person eats 3 spiders a yearâ factoid actualy just statistical error. average person eats 0 spiders per year. Spiders Georg, who lives in cave & eats over 10,000 each day, is an outlier adn should not have been counted
âhow dare you say we piss on the poorâ is perhaps THEE best piece of vernacular to come out of tumblr dot com in the past decade. along with âwhat were you doing at the devils sacramentâ (cheeky. inspired. relevant in every context) and âharold, they're lesbiansâ (timeless. funny as hell. gay)
People who say this are literally saying that they prefer for the workers to all be inexperienced and desperately looking for other jobs. But they somehow also expect good service.
You know I find it very weird when people make fun of trans menâs names and then itâs just âŠ. Popular names.
Like woah a trans man named himself Oliver ?? Crazy. Itâs almost as if itâs been in the top 100 popular boys names for the past 4 years or something.
