okokokok i raise you teresa reading sense & sensibility honestly!!! elinor pushing through grief and loss and hardship with no ability to take up a sword and change her circumstances, and the drama of marianne being taken advantage of for having the courage to love freely…. i think she’d wanna gut mr willoughby tbh!!

Teresa reading any of the JA novels tbh!! But YES S&S is a fantastic one! I think as an older sister too (at least, that's my headcanon- Vivar mentions her sister, Maria, and in the books it's Ramon, so I say Teresa is the eldest child/sister, and I say she has both siblings!) she can really relate to Elinor- she has to take care of her family first, to put her own emotions and heartbreak aside, especially in times of great change and tragedy. She has to be the strong one. Teresa would definitely see herself in Elinor, and though I don't talk about her a lot because there's nothing about Maria in canon and she's basically a blank slate, I think Maria being like Marianne is a great dichotomy between the two.

I always thought of Maria being the baby of the family, so she gets away with a little more than Teresa did- she's also the youngest daughter, and while Teresa probably has a little more pressure to marry well, Maria more than likely doesn't. Maria can be a romantic, to chase after who she wants, though I like to think she's a little more airheaded than Marianne, less bold, but just as excitable. That one scene in the 1995 P&P with Lizzie and Maria Lucas makes me think of their relationship- Teresa guiding and teasing the overly worried Maria. "Mariah, this is your trunk and these are your gowns. You may arrange them in any way you wish- Lady Catherine will never know!" Also that scene where Mariah tells Lizzie to hurry downstairs and does a little spin- that seems like a thing Maria would do! Excitable and fun and so young.

And YES she would want to gut Willoughby for being such a rake and a terrible person!! Especially for knocking up a 15 year old and leaving her to fend for herself!! For the heartache he put Marriane through as well. Teresa understands the economics very well and knows that love sometimes isn't enough to make a relationship work- money is just as important. But it doesn't stop her from breathing a sigh of relief when Marianne dodges a bullet when he leaves her. Sam and I like to think Sharpe gets P&P for her and they read it together, and when they go to Yorkshire and meet a George Wickham they look at each other like 😳😳😳 mr willoughby and wickham found dead more news at 11

could be an interesting angle too with harriet noticing very clearly that teresa isn't telling the whole truth, but she can't really figure her out what's going on - and teresa of course can't tell her, lest she endanger thomas.

❝ Ice cream … ? ❞ The priest sounds the least bit confused by her proposition ( for as usual , he is confused by her ) . Hardly ever is Namyr approached in such a way by those in the village , especially not by o u t s i d e r s . Teresa , however , seemed to be a particularly curious case. Ever since she arrived here , Namyr took note that she might be a bit … TROUBLESOME .

Barbed tail flicks in thought , the poisonous steel tip flashing in the light. He cants his head , tipping in a way to acknowledge the direction of her voice over his shoulder , just beyond his desk. The veil he always wears blinds him , but still he s e e s her just the same : a flickering sunspot , brazen and bright , churning with strength and conviction. Faintly , a smile curls his dark lips ( almost as if in approval ) . ❝ Isn’t it a bit chilly for ice cream , miss Teresa ? ❞ He returns , silvery brows raising as he turns forward again , clawed fingers grazing over the braille text unfurled in his large palm , ❝ If you were looking to simply have my company , all you had to do was ask politely. I could make us some tea , you know. ❞ Teasing , of course , merely poking fun at her. But he has a point , he knows , tea would likely be better suited for this type of weather than ice cream ( that is , if she felt so inclined ) .

Did Mertle's friends ever become friends with Lilo?

Yes, they did! Under the “lilo’s college days” tag, you’ll see more info. Mertle, Yuki, Teresa, Elena, Lilo and Victoria all became a group of friends after their senior year of high school, right before they graduated hula. It started for Mertle specifically when her dad died and Lilo understood her grief and showed her compassion, in spite of the way Mertle had treated her over the years. After that, they very gradually became friends, Mertle swearing Lilo is her best friend, and it wasn’t hard for the other girls to follow her lead (because they never really disliked Lilo as vehemently as Mertle had anyway). They jokingly call themselves the CHGH now (Current Hawaiian Girls of Hawaii), and though Mertle and the girls can still be rude and shallow towards Lilo and Victoria, they’re all buddies and it’s a tight-knit group by the time they hit college-age. After all, they’ve known each other since they were 6.

In college, they all go to Honolulu University except for Yuki, who went to a different school to pursue a sports career. Yuki visited Honolulu sometimes to catch up with the girls on her breaks from school. Zeke Lau, Ani’s dad, is technically part of the friend group too, but they don’t include him as in the “CHGH” term for obvious reasons. Zeke’s bandmates and guy friends, Neal and Kale, sometimes hang out with the girls also.

So yes! Friends! Ohana, even! It just took growing up to get it right.

11. Do either try to hide their emotions if upset? Can the other still tell?

Vera's generally not easy to upset, she always tries to see the positive side of things and if someone annoys her, she aims to discuss it through. But if something related to her patients presses her mind, she can't really talk about it. Troy can tell that she's quieter than usual but doesn't always know the reason.

Troy values staying calm so he tries to hide his emotions to an extent. He's not very good at it, Vera can read him easily!

31. Can they sit side by side without touching the other or are they handsy? (lacing fingers, touching knees, etc.)

Ash and Lydia are pretty handsy. Ash touches Lydia to express love and also to calm her, and Lydia seeks Ash's closeness for a sense of security. PDA makes her a bit anxious though.

38. Who is more sexually experimental? Who's more vanilla?

Mel is more experimental but Cedric's very open-minded! As long as Mel's plans don't include bringing in third wheels, he's unlikely to refuse and enjoys letting Mel take the lead.

51. What’s a non verbal way they say I love you?

Deanna does most chores in the house and only occasionally bothers to nag about it. She's not super tidy herself either but she's quite a visual person and if the mess gets bad it starts to burden her. But also, she lowkey feels like Tess is one of them with a real job and hopes that she can help her like that.

Tess hugs and kisses Deanna a lot, especially always before Deanna heads to bed!

57. Whose the serious one when grocery shopping and who likes to toss random things in the cart?

Will kinda seriously toss random things in the cart? Jamie doesn't really have much saying in what they eat, which is more than okay with him! When they get groceries Jamie obediently fetches whatever Will asks him to. But Will adapts his plans if he sees something that inspires him.

“How long have you been able to do that?”

“Well…I actually found out I could do this a week ago after the incident with athena and calvin” Carrie admitted. She was upset how her friends still had gotten detention. They were the ones defending her from the bullies. They didn't even start the fight!

It was frustrating how the principal seemed to ignore that however. A whole week!

She had been walking home with a note explaining why she had a bruise on her arm. Already mentally trying to prepare for her parents fretting over her.

She recalled how annoyed she was by a song that kept repeating on the radio. The teen didn't have the energy to get up and turn it off despite wanting it to. She stared really hard at the radio. The tape suddenly ejected out.

“I didn't notice at first. Until I did it again and again.” Carrie says. Her face turned a bit red from embarrassment. She didn't want to tell them how freaked out she was in the beginning. Or about destroying her mother's favorite tape. She hid the remains and feigned ignorance about its whereabouts when she was inquired about it. She felt bad for lying but figured she could get her mother a replacement later.

And there was no way Carrie could just tell her parents what really happened. She didn't know how they would take it. Somehow she found it easier telling her friends….

Steven, Teresa and Alex watched in awe as she switched the TV channels without lifting a finger. The buttons on the remote being pushed as if some invisible force was pushing them. In hindsight it technically was. She didn't have to switch the channels with the remote but it was out of habit.

There was questions of course. Some Carrie couldn't answer simply because she didn't know. But she tried her best to answer.

“You weren't hit by a glowing rock or anything were you?” Steven says as she shakes her head. “perhaps it's just passed down in your family…” Alex suggests.

“That's a possibility…”

“If it is a family trait, surely my parents would know already then.” Carrie adds. Given that she was still figuring the ropes to her telekinesis, it would be nice to have some guidance. “Even if it skips a generation or two…”

There was a moment of silence before Teresa decided to change the subject a bit back to the beginning topic.

“Have you tried moving bigger things?” she asked.

Carrie nodded her head. The ginger remembered moving random things around the house. Whenever her parents weren't around. “It's harder. Much harder. I get a headache if I try too much.”

“I wonder if…” she trailed off. She wanted to see if she could lift someone up. Randomly picking Alex. The dark haired teen eyes lit up in surprise as he felt himself being tugged slightly upwards.

“Ah…sorry I probably should have asked first.”

Lol irony Carrie lifting a superhero as he can already fly. Also....😈 Carrie nor the others had any notion that their conversation about Carrie's new telekinetic powers was being eavesdropped. 'I'm really glad Steven brought his friends over today.' Matthew happily thought as his face formed into a dark grin over an evil idea forming in his mind.

Jane and Lisbon are like, a very interesting pairing. They are destined to the other, romantically or not, and no one can tell me otherwise. They both don't do the whole letting people in for the fear of getting hurt, they both play a role that is constantly used to keep people from seeing the vulnerable parts of them, Jane is the funny, arrogant, annoying man that is bigger than the whole world, and Lisbon is the one in command, the boss. She's untouchable in other ways when compared to Jane, and that's the thing, they both are untouchable in different ways.

(this is barely understandable, sorry. I am a bit queasy too but I am in bed)

Nono it is understandable, don't worry. I have finally reached my bed too so we can both be queasy in bed.

They are very fascinating, for a various of reasons. I personally don't know if I believe in destined, but they are, indeed, one of the most beautiful couples out there, with all of their dysfunctionality. And perhaps because of it. (And there's something to be said about the fact that they almost didn't. Teresa almost went with Marcus.)

One of the saddest Things is that. Their meeting is built on tragedy. If Angela hadn't died, if Red John hadn't existed, they wouldn't have met - most likely. (What about a story where Special Agent Teresa Lisbon has to catch notorious criminal Patrick Jane? That would be so intriguing. Maybe I'll write it someday*adds it to the mountain of TM ideas I've got*)

But you're so right, they're both untouchable in different ways and that's why it's so hard for both of them to admit they've got feelings for each other. It's hard to reach out when you've got walls around yourself. And that's why it's so magnificent when they learn to touch each other.

I've seen you mention them in your tags from time to time so, for the ship asks, newtresa 👀

i love newteresa!!! i think they make for an interesting pair of characters, especially with their movie characterization!

i think they're both a bit more introverted than characters i usually think about, and i'm really curious about the dynamic that could unfold between them! i feel like they're really careful with each other in canon (newt checking if everything's alright when teresa is looking for clothes at the mall comes to mind), and there's also some gazes between them that i just. like a lot <3

further i think newt is introverted in a way that he hides pretty well, he's gotten really damn good at making people do what they should in his time at the glade. i think his way of "controlling" or leading people is a more hidden one, he obverves, listens and *knows* the people and that's how he knows what type of nudge they need and when to end up in the right place. (or what he thinks is the right place anyway.)

and i do kind of think that teresa, in her more direct sort of introverted way, could be the type of person to notice what really "lies below" when it comes to newt. and she'd definitely be hell bent on figuring out more about him--and she'd be hell bent to get to the bottom of his insecurities, too.

similarly, with newt being so obvservant i think he could get insights and a sort of understanding for how teresa works in a way that goes beyond what shows on the surface.

for any connection between them, i think it would be so wonderful to explore how they would get closer. because to me they're both clearly what we in german call "kopfmenschen". people who are lead in their actions and behavior by their head over their heart, or no that doesn't sound right. it's people who will only act when they're really really sure of something, once they've "figured it out" and justified it before themselves.

and in both a romantic or platonic developing relationship i think that could make for a really interesting combo, bc they'd both be very cautious, and any relief of the tension, or moments where they're confirmed in their (platonic or romantic) feelings being reciprocated would be so rewarding.
