Tech: only vaguely interested in the actual physical reality of the problem and is probably calculating the best way to balance weight distribution

Hunter: is carrying literally the entire problem and trying not to fall over while doing it. he’s FINE and he’s going to make SURE everybody KNOWS that he is HANDLING IT

Echo: is actively trying to physically help with the problem but Hunter didn’t really give him a chance to so he’s kinda here for moral support

Crosshair: says he doesn’t care about the problem says he couldn’t care LESS about the problem and yet. he’s still here. too invested to actually commit to the claims of not caring about the problem

Wrecker: is only here for a good time and is actively CAUSING the problem

Do I understand on some level that they are under no requirement to be wildly cheerful, they Are being nice but I have trained my brain to read neutrality as a negative reaction? Yes absolutely.

Or if it's funnier for him to find out after getting magic mpreged during an ultrasound where one of the techs is like. Worried bc the baby doesn't look right at all and something is definitely going wrong, so they go get the doctor and the doctors just like, "Ah! don't worry Tech it seems there was just a paperwork error. Selkies are always born as seals and that sure is a seal pup in a guy wearing a seal skin coat in the middle of july. We'll get the papers fixed right away Mr.Desmodus." and Silas is going through every single emotion at once bc. he did not know he was a selkie.

need to shell out for a new laptop before the end of the year - for a lot of reasons but mainly bc support ending for win8.1 makes fixing the current beast rather pointless :/ (and. admittedly. there is a lot to fix. she's old and she has suffered.)

but my current beastie is from the last gen of laptops with a disc drive and the thought of using an external/usb disc drive is enough to make me cry tears of blood

y’know how i disappeared from our beloved dumpster fire website for a sec? let me catch you up! i spent the month of sept ‘21 in a whirlwind process of interviews and writing tests, started my first-ever, full-time (salaried!) writing job in oct ‘21, and after working my ass off for exactly one year, i was laid off *on* my work anniversary last month lmao

read through the recent chapters of Same Heart and then your newest fic, Technical Assistance, and was curious if your headcanon on Tech's sexuality for Same Heart changed? I know prior when I messaged you, you said you saw him as aro/ace, has that changed with him spending more time with the main character in Same Heart to where he would want to be part of the complexities that are with Echo and Cross both in love with the main character?

You know, I went and reread your ask before I started writing last night!

I think that as she and Tech get more familiar he’ll relax a little; I have shifted my position on him being aro/ace, yes, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that he’s going to get involved, although poly-batch is getting more tempting as time goes on. The recent finale has me reassessing my overall plans for the story, despite that particular point being very far from now, and I’m mixed on where to take it.

Consider Technical Assistance just a ‘what if’ scenario, if that helps clear things up.

Hopefully this reply makes some sort of sense; I’m typing it up while very sleep deprived haha

I find Jordan Peterson too funny to really offend me. I disagree with most of what he says and he absolutely blatantly is coasting off Jung and misreading european literature but I also just find him so insane and overdramatic. he's genuinely losing his mind in real time on the public stage. the worst thing he ever did for himself was try to be a public intellectual. I do think he actually cares for people but hes also kanye west level clinically insane and imo a poor scholar (outside of his niche field) he seems so tormented, its like seeing someone in pure agony I'm sure he was an amazing professor. its like he thinks he's Nietzsche but he has no talent or vision just the insanity and misogyny
