Like, Ino literally saved the alliance by being able to divert Obit/o’s attack in mere seconds and saved Chouji/’s life in the same way yet the moment her own father and Shikaku needed her, she couldn’t do anything and it haunts her

Some Team 7 + Team 10 chara sheets!

I did more chara sheets for my modern AU. (I did Team 8 + Sand Sibs here!) They don't appear much in the fics I already wrote, I don't know if they will in the future (maybe some plan for Naruto & Jiraiya fic one day?) but I have headcanons for them!

1 - The Girlfriends

Sakura:

She's been best friend with Naruto since childhood and was quite scared to come out to him as a teen, not so much because she thought he'd reject her entirely but more because she was scared it would change their dynamics if they weren't boy friends anymore. Naruto was very excited about the whole thing, and supported her plenty in her transition.

She's training to be a surgeon and met Ino in med school.

In Seeing Stars, she is roommate with Lee and Tenten, but she'll move in with Ino later, and Gaara will take her place (well, more like he'll take Lee's bed room and there is one free now but-)

This is my "everyone is gay, everyone is disabled" AU and she is the token abled chara for now, but that might change if I get inspired. Not fully set on that.

Ino:

She's known she was a lesbian (although maybe not in this word) since very young. Also, at the time, Shikamaru and Chouji were perceived as such too, so that made them a trio.

She graduates to be a physical therapist around the year of Seeing Stars. She trained a lot on Sakura (lovingly) and Lee (more brutally).

Her endometriosis is somewhat managed by progesterone but she still has some flare-ups from time to time.

2 - The Boyfriends

Chouji:

They are Brazilian through their mother and Japanese through Chouza.

They struggled a bit figuring out their gender and tried presenting more masculine earlier in their transition, cutting their hair short and all that, but really didn't like it and, after some distress and talking it through with Ino and Shikamaru, let themself own that they were, really, a femboy. He is cool with masculine words (like being Shikamaru's boyfriend).

They considered stopping T after a while but liked how it felt for the most part, and it also helped manage PCOS symptoms.

He is rather sensory-seeking and loves being able to play around with textures, colours and sparkles.

He manages chronic pain with compressive clothes, knee braces and crutches.

Shikamaru:

Identified as a boy for about forever, and was very uncomfortable with being perceived as a lesbian with Chouji as a teen (which Chouji didn't really mind on his end), in a good part because of dysphoria, but also because he's never been into girls? (Dating Chouji has been a lot of confusion until they both figured themselves out, but it did feel right, somehow. Now he knows why.)

It might not have happened yet by the time of Seeing Stars because this shit takes time, but he is eventually getting phalloplasty and a cool tattoo sleeve on his left arm afterwards to hide the graft site.

Between his fatigue and Chouij's pain, they are a very cuddly pair and spending a lot of time in each other's presence at home. It's not always easy to go out and do things whatever they may be, but they make sure that the time they spend home together feels significant and not just routine.

3 - The Not Boyfriends

Naruto:

After some chaotic and pretty traumatic time in the foster care system as a baby and young child, he was taken in by Jiraiya, a relative of Kushina. He still lives with him as an adult, though they have a more roommate-y relationship than father/son.

He has struggled a lot with school the whole time, and it got worse after being separated from Sasuke (see below) and Sakura (because he failed and had to repeat some years along the way). He didn't graduate from high school in the end.

He does restaurant delivery by bike for a living, which provides him with both a lot of time spent working the hyperactivity out, and social contact with all the cooks in the neighbourhood (who all love him and have adopted him like a stray cat.)

He is very good friend with Kiba. They met in group therapy but Kiba is not great at that so they mostly meet to smoke together.

He is bi but probably too obsessed with Sasuke and the faith he have they'll be together again to really put himself out there for anyone.

Sasuke:

He and Naruto were close (and eventually sort of dating) as children and teens, but they got into a fireworks accident together where they both lost an arm (and Sasuke some hearing). Fugaku moved him to private schooling after the events, and they haven't reconnected since then.

He has sort of convinced himself he is straight, not even out of complicated feelings for his sexuality, but really just to be able to think he isn't and has never been into Naruto, because he resents him a lot for the accident and doesn't want to come to term with forgiveness or even just admitting he is still important to him.

He's tried using a prosthetic arm for years after his injury, but never quite found one he managed to work with. He also has important phantom pain that plays into that.

For now, he's joined the police like Fugaku. Let's all hope he'll get himself together eventually.

can we hear more about you and Genma on a genin team together?

Of course!

We were in the same graduating class a few years after Kakashi and Raidou. Of course, my rival was a child prodigy and Raidou was a few years older than most of our classmates, so that's no surprise. Genma's family was very concerned about the war and asked him to hone his skills in the academy for a while longer than others of his age, and I'm grateful that he persevered through the frustration because that's how Team Chouza came to be! Genma was the unflappable bridge between Ebisu and I before we got used to working as a tight knit unit, whenever we were together without our sensei. It's thanks to his efforts that I developed the resistance to sedatives and paralytics that I have now, although it's still my least favorite way to end our spars. His overwhelming familiarity with the academy basics was invaluable on the field, and although Team Chouza was officially disbanded after the three of us were promoted to chunin, I am always glad to have Genma at my back when the situation calls for the Blue Beast to rush forward headfirst!

Gai x Fuso Kichi

Basically she's a civilian born badass kunoichi who is team ten's sensei, she's the academy kunoichi role model crush, was in a Genin Team with Gai and Genma under Chouza, and she and Gai are fierce teammates/idiot in love/mutual pining because Gai is transparent with the women he compliments (beautiful flower, showering praise, etc) but has never been anything but respectful to her (comrade trumps beautiful woman in his eyes) so Kichi thinks, out of everyone in Konoha, Gai finds her genuinely unattractive 🥹 she's also besties with Kurenai and Anko in the 'are you sleeping together' suspicious levels of closeness scale 🤣 also Kichi's looks are based off of the famous volleyball player, Kim Yeon-koung

She's 6'3🔥

Disclaimers: In this AU that is my Fanfiction Neji is not dead, neither is Fuu nor Torune.

Konoha 11 is a group of well-known shinobis from the village who fought furiously during the Third Ninja War, Uchiha Sasuke is not part of that group due to his well…rebellious phase. They were well-known and most importantly feared among the nations, the elite of Konoha was something to bear in mind, even Akamaru was considered part of it and Sai who entered team 7 quite late. This mission was something quite different from what they were used to, a hidden village that no one ever knew. The fact that the head of the clans have to come with them to the mission. That urgency that Sasuke claims to have…? Hizashi Hyuga went with Hinata and Neji as representatives, Ino brought Fuu and Sai with her, Shikamaru brought Kiba and Naruto, Chouza was with Choji and Sakura, Shibi with Shino and Torune, and Sasuke was heading the team together with, soon to be Hokage, Kakashi. Seventeen people was quite a big fellowship, everyone clearly saw how this could be turned absolutely wrong. Sasuke insisted that the head of clans should go with him as well as Team 8 who was good at rescue and tracking; yet Tsunade decided that each leader should have at least one person to escort them and protect them just in case. Therefore, one extra person was sent to protect them, Kakashi’s job was that of counsellor and political mediator with that strange village. The papers that they have found said that apparently during the First Ninja War some clans decided to protect their people by hiding them and seeking shelter somewhere far from the battle. 

The young Uchiha brought grim news, they were protecting that village but the cost that they were suffering was far from beyond. – So, this clan Kome, has settled themselves as some sort of Danyo. Apparently, during the first generation, as they mention it; Ashina Uzumaki went a little bit berserker when it came to the protection of the village. They said that it was Koroshi Kome’s fault, he tried to well rape her daughter. However, the village saw it as an act of aggression. As a result, and to try to set things up, they decided that those shinobi’s send by the now noble clans should bow protection and fidelity to the village, and to the Kome clan as repayment for that aggression. – Everyone was listening carefully – Yet… Ashina decided that a way to protect all of them was to set a barrier, actually two, quite astonishing may I say. Plus, she well… kind of… soils the earth.

-Soils the Earth? – Naruto enquired about it

-How can someone soil the Earth?

-It is like Lady Tsunade’s Byakugo, isn’t it? – Sasuke nodded to Shikamaru’s question.

- To assure that the promise was fulfilled the other five member of the clan swear protection against the Uzumaki’s. To do so they seal the Uzumaki members… with a really unique jutsu. Apparently, Ashina herself taught them how but never shared with her own descendance. Only, that the head of the clan can break it. Meaning…

-Us… - said Ino.

So, the purpose of the clan leader to head in that direction was to retrieve those seals from the Uzumaki member. – Excuse me for my intermission, but… If they decided to seal the Uzumaki’s there must be bigger reason than that. – mentioned Shibi.

-I have seen the Uzumaki’s heir. -  Sasuke kept talking – She is not a problem, definitely. However, the issue here is that what the Kome clan has been doing to set the village as a refugee for Bingo ninjas – everyone was astonished – Apparently, because they still have the popular opinion that the noble clans misbehave, they have settled this village as a paradise for the lowest of the lowest. Additionally, the noble clans are trying to do their best to keep the village at ease and calm. They have shown me proves that everything was settle because of that rape

-Are you sure they are not fake? – inquired Kakashi. He nodded.

- They want freedom, sensei – mentioned Naruto

- Plus Naruto’s and Ino’s sensor chakra will actually help to clarify this situation, although there are some people there that I trust too and I am certain that they are not lying. – Sasuke was sure of his words. Everyone looked quite puzzled, who could they been?

After three days of non-stop tracking something completely invisible, Sasuke led them towards a mountain. It was quite rocky and full of flora and fauna like the rest of their surroundings.

-It is here – Sasuke took of his coat and look at the rest – They would open the passage this evening. We have arrived in time – The team nodded and proceeded to make a small camp. They were not that sure of what Sasuke meant, yet they kept working as promising. Hoping that soon everything would be clarified.

Night came and with it the anticipation to see who they were. Although the Uchiha remain calm and unalerted, the rest of the team had their senses sharpen and their body ready for a fight if needed. Suddenly, everyone felt it, a burst of chakra an explosion, a controlled one, but nevertheless an explosion. Everyone kept closer and the mountain, well, its base, started to fade an open. It was a barrier! A good one for that matter that was for sure, one so powerful to have been deceiving shinobis for years. At the opening 7 figures appeared. There was a hooded one knelled on the floor closer to another taller hooded figure, a voice startled them – Sasuke…just in time. Come quick everyone – it was a harsh female voice. Everyone entered the barrier, cautious, but they enter. Once inside, the barrier disappeared and from the other side there was a forest so deep that they felt a twitch of fear. Hizashi was the first one to be impressed. A Hyuga greeted him with a wide smile. He was rather tall and slim; his face was quite rounded, and his long hair was tidy up in a messing bun at the top. His clothes were more like rags that tried to conceive his body from some cold. His eyes, white and bright as his startled him. He made a bow as everyone else did, except for the knelled figure. The hooded one by their side stood up. It was tall, even taller than Shibi, who was the tallest of the fellowship. They took of their hood, like everyone else they were covered in rags that they called clothes. Their eyes were covered with a cloth. – As the eldest let me greet the Heads and thank your aid. My name is Aburame Takehiko, this is my great-granddaughter Aburame Reina. – The man was indeed old. His face was wrinkled but in a fashionable way, his mane looked straighter than the Konoha’s Aburames. Completely white but with some brushes of what it was a deep black colour hinted that his hair colour tried to remind more than expected. The knelled figure rose, he immediately tried to help her, but she did it for herself. She bowed- Thank you – muttered in a feeble voice. She fainted and quickly the tall Aburame took her in his arms. That allowed her hood to be lifted down, her face was unseen for a great mess of hair covered her. It was deep black, but the Aburame’s saw it differently. It wasn’t black, completely in their eyes they could see the rich red that was hinted underneath. Shibi had seen that red hair before, it had a very similar saturation -Uzumaki – muttered underneath his breath. Takehiko seemed to have heard him and nodded.

Torune suddenly noticed, that man did not have kikaichu only… The man seemed to try his hardest not to seem weak, something that comes with age. He grabbed hiss great-granddaughter tight- We need to hurry before they notice. – And so, he led the way out of the forest.

They climbed a small mountain. Underneath it a small village appeared at their eyes, all houses where white but there was one bigger than the rest that catch their attention. On the west side upon the mountains that were surrounding the village they could see what seem ruins of much more antique houses. – We have time to reach hour home. Let’s be quick just in case – It was the softest voice ever, the Akimichi gal was the one who said so. She run fast together with the Yamanaka cleaning their way so everyone could reach their home faster. Apparently, the Aburame girl was mumbling something towards his great-grandfather, because he kept nodding. They reached the ruins. A big woman with a savage hair which she let it free embrace them – I cannot believe! – she said. Her skin suddenly glow like gold, and her tanned skin became sunrays together with her big smile with a chopped off teeth. She embrace everyone of all a sudden – Oh for what was old and for what it is to be. I can…

-Hush Jun – said Takehiko – The woman was clearly a member of the Akimichi clan – Oh boy, he really looks like his father! – mentioned her while having a great look at the commutive- Jun

-Oh Take…

-Takehiko

- You should be calm; your lass knew was she was doing

-Jun, bring some food and that’s it – said the old man carrying the Aburame girl towards one of those ruined houses. – Call the rest so we can talk properly

-Their father’s too?

Takehiko did not say a thing while he kept his journey towards the ruins – Oh Sasuke-kun~ you were right everyone has come. Oh, my sweet boy! Thank you so much

-Mum stop- it was the sweet voice

-Chikako calm down, oh we should introduce ourselves properly, shouldn’t we? The name is Akimichi Jun, this is my daughter Chikako.

-Mother… I am sure they are tired have you…?

-Oh yes, I cleaned and fixed things up with Toshiko. Oh we did it! – she said trying to cheer them up. She clearly was nervous and exhausted. – Come on, please over here.

Kakashi ventured – Before moving to any place, we need to know where we are and what is going on, madam. – His voice was deeper than usual, he was serious.

-Oiii Kakashi, is that you?

Everyone froze, they recognize that voice. Shikaku Nara, or better said what was left of him and Inoichi. The brave soldier was beaten up by time and the war. Shikaku was missing a whole arm and part of a leg, he had some short of rudimentary orthopaedic leg that let him walk with some difficulties. Inoichi’s eyes looked foggy, as if he had lost a great deal of his sight. He also leaned his head towards Shikaku, as to hear him better, he walked with great difficulty as if his legs were not answering him correctly when he commanded them to walk. However, hard it was he achieved that and walk with slow and steady steps. Ino rush towards him, unable to control her feelings. Shikamaru couldn’t move. When Inoichi felt that embrace he inspire her aroma – Ino… - she smiled and hugged her with his trembling arms. How was that possible?

-Let us explain what this whole mess is, Kakashi – said Shikaku while walking towards the fellowship. He looked at his son, the scars of his face were even fuller of scars. -We have a lot to catch up, don’t we? – said to his son.

Why wear your hitai-ate backwards even when you're not on missions?

I guess this kinda falls into the dumb scar stories too, but really early in my genin days I fell out of a tree while doing a D rank picking plums and cracked the back of my skull open. Chouza-sensei rushed me to the hospital and I was fine after some staples and anti-inflammatory pills for the concussion, but the bone back there healed kinda weak. But hey, good news: all shinobi are gifted a metal square of head armor that would cover the spot perfectly if I just flipped it around.

It looked a little funny with the headband version, so Chouza-sensei took me to trade it in for a bandana instead. The soft spot in my skull is mostly gone but there is still a seam there, so I still wear it backwards just to be safe. I wear something similar without the Konoha symbol connected to my ANBU mask as well, but I also wear a hood so you wouldn’t know it’s there unless you managed to get my mask off.

He also encourages them to act out and dress up for fun

okay but Danzo totally comes by the Nara compound to have words with Shikaku about Naruto spending more time there and how he is shifting the power balance between the clans -Shikaku's no fool, Danzo had long wanted Naruto in his grasp- and tells him off and to never step foot on his lands and after he slams his door shut, Danzo looks up to meet eye(s) with his young but very clever son.

Shikamaru flips him off and shuts his window.

And a month later Shikaku, Inoichi, and Chouza are on a mission -for the first time in an age- and they hear shouting and Ino screaming "I need more chakra! Shika-hang on!"

And terror burns through him as he races around the corner to see Team Ten in ruins. Asuma with his hands against Ino's back, transferring chakra that she's pressing into his son's chest as he gasps for breath and Chouji cries beside him.

He drags his son into his arms and vanishes, Shikamaru whisked off to surgery and his wife races off to bang on Mito's door as he stands in the hospital waiting room wearing his son's blood on his hands.

And he thinks about what Mito said about the masks of the men that attacked them two years ago, and the ones that attacked Team Ten. And that's the beginning of the end for Danzo.

Genin Genma & Team Chouza

Summary: The genin of Team Chouza are ready for their first real mission. Cleaning for the Nara Halloween party isn’t exactly what they expected. Sometimes lessons can be learned from the most unexpected missions. 

Genma arrived at training ground five an hour before he was supposed to meet his team, packed and ready to leave on a mission. Technically, Chouza-sensei had told them to be at training ground seven, but he was sure Gai was already there, and he was in no mood to spend the next hour counting how many push-ups his teammate did.

If he was going to spend an hour on the training grounds before a mission, it was going to be productive. He found a secluded clearing and set to work on his own training; attempting to harness chakra into his lips to propel his senbon. Sure, he'd never actually seen it done, but he couldn't think of a reason why it wouldn't work.

Forty-five minutes later his chakra was more depleted than he would have cared to admit, and still, he hadn't managed to send it more than a meter, and not hard enough to even puncture anything. Pondering his progress would have to wait, it was time to meet up with his team.

Throwing his bag over his shoulder he jumped onto the nearest tree branch. Only three branches away he began to get the feeling he was being followed. It wasn't something he could confirm. He certainly didn’t see or hear anyone, but the hairs on the back of his neck were standing on end with that tale-tale feeling something was behind him. Deciding he was overreacting, he once again focused his chakra to the soles of his feet and lept away to meet his team.
