Okay, here's the thing, I feel so bad for TBOBF in a lot of ways.

Cuz parts of it (albeit very short parts) are just Temuera Morrison and Ming-Na Wen wandering around doing hot girl shit, or Boba hanging out with his adoptive Sand People family, or Cobb Vanth just showing up and flirting with anything that moves...But in a lot of ways, the show suffers from A) Being a backdoor pilot for Mando s3 which had already been confirmed which takes over the last 3 episodes out of nowhere and feels really shitty as they cast Boba aside in his own show and B) The show seems uncomfortable with it's own premise in a lot of ways. It falls into the trap that "protagonist = morally and ethically perfection" instead of just letting Boba be a crime boss? Like, sure he doesn't have to be as cruel as the Hutts, and he doesn't have to be okay with the Pikes moving in on his territory, but in the end...He's too nice to be a believable threat to anyone. (And in a lot of situations...is just bad at his job, or ill prepared for what he has to do.)

Which is a shame, because there could have been a really compelling story about Boba taking over Tatooine's mob scene, ruling it with an iron fist, while managing to win the love of the people. Hell, have a whole arc about him outlawing still totally legal Tatooine slavery and fighting all the people who would oppose people being free. But instead they just have him turn into this dude who shows up, not really kick as much ass. He was far scarier when he showed up in Mando s2 and beat the crap out of those stormtroopers then he ever was in a show meant to be about him.

Sorry this got long and rambly, I just...I feel like the bs robo-Luke stuff in TBOBF is only the tip of the iceberg. The urge to write an academic paper on the subject is strong.

Boba Fett mini bust by Gentle Giant!

Continuing individual closeups of my mini busts✨While I like different versions of Boba for different reasons, I do think his TBOBF costume is especially kickass. I love how the black undersuit really makes his iconic armor pop, I love the kama, I just love the overall silhouette and how it compliments Temuera Morrison and emphasizes his strength.

It's also got very different details compared to the Mando S2 version, especially in the belt area, so this bust is an especially good art reference for those parts!

Boba is my 2nd heaviest mini bust after Scorch, but he feels in proportion to the others, he's just really Thicc✨

Time Frame of Mando

So apparently there's an interview somewhere with Jon Favreau talking about how The Mandalorian and TBOBF cover about 3 years.

He also said that this means that Grogu was with Luke for almost a year. DIN HAD TO WAIT ALMOST A YEAR TO SEE HIS SON NO WONDER GROGU WAS LOOKING AT THE N-1 SO SADLY!

Saying that, it's also very amusing when you realise that Din has been commuting for bounty hunting missions for around a year. He's been taking public transport to kill/capture people for that long. How iconic.

idk if this is an unwelcome rant or anything but I saw your anti ahs0ka posts from july and I’m just….so frustrated. I don’t want to sound like a dudebro but as someone whose favorite SW character is Luke I just can’t stand Star Wars anymore. I personally didn’t like him in tlj, but I could accept it—but then they just sort of kept chipping at him through every new piece of media. He’s strange in mando/tbobf, no one will join his temple despite apparently all of these older force sensitives surviving rotj, even obi-wan is retconned to know leia more. now this shit w this show, where #she is the self-insert in thrawn stuff. also you don’t even have to be FS anymore, etc etc. the “important Jedi lineage” is now obi-wan-anakin-ahs0ka, bc who even cares about luke amirite. it just sucks because I did genuinely used to like her, but with every new thing it could not be more clear that narratively she should have died bc now the whole gffa’s story is hers

I'd love to say I'm above petty rant but I am SO not, your rant is most welcome. If you don't have anything nice to say about Ahsoka, come sit by me. 😉 (Honestly I'm just happy to see other people acknowledging what a poorly written character she is when I've been saying this since the Rebels season 2 finale. I definitely felt like the only one back then.)

More seriously.... yeah, I do get the feeling of everything you loved about Star Wars being chipped away. I hope those who do enjoy it have fun and all, I don't begrudge anyone that, but I can't lie, I do kinda feel the same way. Like it's all being rewritten Filoni-style. And George Lucas he is not, no matter how much he thinks he is. Also I don't presume to know Timothy Zahn's feelings but I still think it's shitty and disrespectful as hell to carve a big hole out of the wonderful, iconic Thrawn trilogy and plop Ahsoka in. It's becoming REAL obvious that Filoni isn't the creative genius he's hailed as, he strip mines Legends for ideas and then gets the credit.

At this point I almost rather they leave Luke alone. Han is my BOY and they already did him so dirty (left Leia, returned to smuggling invalidating all his character development in the OT, gets a crappy death from his shitty incel son - I did like Solo but it was too little to late) so I 100% get your feelings there. It's like Disney doesn't even care how important these characters are so many people in their rush to replace them with their new, safely copyrighted and controlled characters. And ofc Filoni props his TCW OCs over all. Just look at how Mando S3 had Din and Grogu's story trashed so Girlboss Barbie Bo could feature instead. I'm not sure why they're so resistant to paying writers, they clearly need some new ones.

Javi G & Nick Cage getting high, that entire scene is just pure gold

In TBOBF: Din telling Grogu not to hit the glass of the starfighter because he wants to go zoomies again makes my sky heart soar every dang time

Jack “Tinder what?” Daniels scene (even though it makes me scream at how bored that girl is with him because HOW UNREALISTIC LOl)

Mando S2: Peli telling Din “stop crying you’ll rust” & Din just staring at her so unamused - it’s such a reminder of Din’s deadpan sense of character and his own form of humor!!!

R5 is the droid who cursed out Din for not liking droids in TBOBF Chapter 5, and now he's going to be the droid Din finally takes under his wing. Iconic behavior

honestly though i feel bad for the people who didn’t watch tbobf and missed out on the iconic “turn around” “what?” “tUrN aRoUnD” scene

Okay time for some positive mandalorian thoughts after seeing way too many people online lately shit on it. Anyone else love that it was Din who first reached out to Grogu in that iconic scene of them first meeting? Throughout the entire series we see Din try to distance himself from having an emotional connection to this baby, only protecting him as anyone would do looking after a kid. It’s usually Grogu who tries to initiate their softer moments, ex. running to Din when he’s in trouble, curling up to cuddle with him, etc. Of course we never see Din reject him because he cares, but he’s still not allowing himself to express the same apparent love we see later on in TBOBF. Except for when he first lays eyes on the baby and reaches a finger out to him, initiating and encouraging their first ever tender contact. Maybe I’m just overthinking it but I also believe it really goes to show that a deeper part of Din always had a soft spot for Grogu even before he lifted that mudhorn or got to know him on their journey, it just took all of that for Din to realize it.

so basically there is a book of bobba fett dlc for lego star wars the skywalker saga and the dlc is kind of bad. Both Bobba Fett and Fenec Shand are not in that dlc (kind of understandable because both of them are already in the game) but then there's no like no actual character that is from BOBF. The characters they choose to include was literally just Mando characters except Cad Bane and krrsantan. And idk it just feels really wierd to me. Like it kind of goes to show how badly BOBF was handled and Dave Felloni or Jon Faveru's wierdo insistence to fill BOBF with cameos and shit for mando that there was no other iconic characters they could have chosen for that dlc. The dlc was less Book of Boba fett and more just here's some mando characters that we didn't include in the Mando s1 and s2 dlcs that did show up in BOBF so we can pretend it's a BOBF dlc. The characters included were

Cad Bane Krrsantan The Armorer Cobb Vanth Peli Motto so like 3 of them were basically mando characters, Cad is basically a clone wars character though skywalker saga is not including lego star wars 3 clone wars, and Krrsantan was from Dr Alphra. it really felt like this dlc should h ave just been called Mando leftover characters DLC.

this doesn't surprise me. TBOBF is just one type of insult after another
