Tomo los medicamentos que el psiquiatra me ha recetado y me descargo con mi terapeuta en cada cita … aunque no puedo ser completamente honesto y decirle a detalle lo que me agobia realmente….
¿Cómo puedo decirle a mi terapeuta que guardo el oscuro secreto de mi hermano gemelo? Un secreto que puede destruir a mi familia definitivamente.
¿Cómo le explico que me mata la incertidumbre y el miedo de no volver a ver a mi gemelo con vida, cada vez que sale a completar alguna “misión?
¿Cómo le explico el miedo que tengo de que mi hermano mayor también salga herido o muerto cuando sale a cumplir con su deber como jefe de policía?
¿Qué haré yo si pasan esas cosas?
¿Qué haré si Café llega a enterarse del verdadero trabajo de Doppio y esto le destroza el corazón?
Si Doppio no llega a casa nunca y Café no sabe el por que… ¿Cómo deberé explicárselo?
¿Qué hare con Vanilla? … Ella es la que mas me preocupa… Ella es tan joven… no quiero que llegue a sufrir por esto…

I try to distract myself , I have more than five jobs that help me to fix my attention on anything but this…I want to see the positive in the world, to see others without worries ….

“¿dime, chula, qué pasa entre usted y el oficial?”
his question has leon turning to you with a serious curiosity, no doubt hoping you’d translate something useful. unfortunately for him, and for you, it’s nothing more than what luis hopes will turn into flirtatious banter.
you shake your head at your partner, leaving him unconvinced. you hope his meager grasp of spanish keeps him from understanding too much. “¿qué con que?” you beck your head at luis, who grins upon receiving your attention. “es mi socio, nada más.”
your coy reply does not escape him. at once he slinks to your side, playful gray eyes flicking about your pretty face. “parece que le caes muy bien, ¿eh? te ha cuidado más que a la niñita.” he bumps shoulders, a teasing gesture. gets you rolling your eyes with a hint of a smile on your lips.
across the room of the safehouse, ashley looks on with girlish interest, her brows raising suggestively at the sight of you two so close. you send her a face, a code between young women, that has her fighting back a laugh.
leon, ever responsible, busies himself by placing whatever broken wooden planks he finds onto the dirty glass windows by the entrance door. you catch him glancing ever so often back at where you stand, unable to hide the wary way he eyes the man cozying up beside you. you ponder luis’s words.
“quiero pensar que somos amigos. los amigos se necesitan quererse, ¿no?” you reiterate, shifting your weight opposite of him. a thrill runs up your heart when he inches closer, intentions all too obvious.
“eso es lo que quiero saber, cariña. usted, el chaval, sólo sois amigos, ¿verdad?”
“vaya…estás muy interesando en él. ¿por qué me hablas a mi?”
“supongo que quiero saber si tengo una chance, ¿que mas?” luis chuckles, moves to prop his shoulder onto the wall behind you, one arm loosely caging you, the other resting on his hip. “y, pues, la cosa es…” he leans in, the tip of his nose brushing against the shell of your ear, “que difícil ignorar a alguien tan hermosa.”
heat rises up your face, a trained façade breaking as you laugh him off, unable to stop from smiling this time. luis hovers, incredibly pleased, watching from up close how your beauty lights up. he lingers even when you give him a lighthearted shove, stammering an excuse of having to check upstairs for supplies.
he lays back against the wall, feels the vibrations of your heels clicking up the stairs. knows you won’t find anything, anyway — if you weren’t so flustered, you’d remember he had already gone up there to check as soon as the group arrived.
a satisfied smirk refuses to leave his face, despite the severe way leon glares at him from across the room.
“i’m guessing you didn’t share any valuable input?” leon asks curtly, broad shoulders tense.
friends, my ass, luis thinks. he throws his hands up innocently, appearing clueless to leon’s envy. “no, no, it was. valuable for her to know, at least.” he winks impishly, earning himself a scowl. “c’mon, yanqui, i’m just being friendly, you know?”
though his jaw sets tight, leon says nothing in return, remembering ashley stands not too far from his place near the front door.
“everything’s clear up here.” your voice comes down the stairs before the rest of you does. you pointedly ignore both men eyeing your figure as you make your way to ashley’s side. “there’s a relatively clean bed upstairs if you’d like to rest, sweetie. i know it’s hard to relax in our situation, but i think it’s best you try.”
ashley quirks a brow. i’ll go if you tell me everything.
you offer your hand. well, duh.
“yeah, you’re probably right.” ashley agrees, voice feigning hesitation, placing her hand in yours to lead her away. she gives leon a passing look to gauge his reaction, but can’t seem to look past what she now recognizes as his “cool, calm, agent guy” persona. that, and, he’s a little too occupied watching you walk away to really react.
at least luis shows a little disappointment when you walk by without looking his way, even pouting at the lack of attention. the air sours as the two men are left alone, for plenty of reasons she’s clueless for.
she should really brush up on her spanish when she gets home.

Question for any Sephardi folks: is this a really "big" song in Sephardi nusach? Because when I went looking for Ladino songs, I kept finding version after version of this one song lol.
Here is another excellent version (although it uses an alternate name it's the same song as far as I can tell) and has an excellent explanation in the description:

Vocals & arrangement by Farya Faraji. This is a song from the Sephardi music repertoire; the Jewish community that was expelled from Iberia at the end of the Reconquista, and settled around the Mediterranean, developping diverse regional styles based on where they settled.
This specific song is from Tangiers, Morocco, and was written by an anonymous author in 1890. Different songs using this text, or similar ones detailing the birth of Abraham have existed during the centuries, but this one in Maqam Hijaz is the most well known one.
My arrangement pays homage to the Moroccan-Spanish background of the song by mixing a Moroccan string section, percussions and oud with a Spanish guitar chord progression similar to Flamenco’s.

Can I ask Retsu and Oliva and anyone else with a s/o who is the parent of a pretty sassy and very ironic but nice girl at heart. Who is about twelve years old and really having a hard time coming to terms with men as a new step father , how would they be accepted by her? Please
Ps: I still love your writings so much <3
Situation: Being stepparents / Siendo padrastros.
Characters: Oliva Biscuit and Retsu Kaioh.
Oliva Biscuit.
Oliva actively tries to show that he is a good man and that his stepdaughter can trust that he is not trying to alienate her from her father/mother in any way.
Expensive and lavish gifts may be seen by his stepdaughter as a way for Oliva to “buy” her favor, but this man is not really trying to bribe her with gifts. He just has a lot of money and the need to buy nice things for the important people in his life.
At the same time, Oliva gives his stepdaughter her space, he doesn't want her to feel like he's invading her space, so he doesn't ask his S/O to move in with him or let him spend the night in their house. He dies for that to happen.
Over time, Oliva will be able to prove that he is a good and trustworthy man, he's just too big and visibly intimidating.
Retsu Kaioh.
Retsu is a really patient and calm man, he is able to get along with people effectively, even if it takes him some time. He understands that this whole transition is difficult, especially for someone so young, and he doesn't want to aggravate a relationship that hasn't started yet.
He is easy going with his interactions, first with occasional greetings and small talk that doesn't force his stepdaughter to engage with him if she doesn't want to. He goes little by little.
He is bonding with her little by little, making breakfast for everyone, taking them to a park to get some fresh air, taking her to school and picking her up too.
Retsu is putting his trust in time, he knows that if he avoids putting pressure on his stepdaughter and doesn't force her to get used to him, she will manage to accept him, at her pace and because she will want it that way.

Oliva trata activamente de demostrar que es un buen hombre y que su hijastra puede tener confianza en que él no pretende alejarla de su progenitor de ninguna forma.
Quizá los regalos costosos y lujosos sean vistos por su hijastra como una forma de Oliva para “comprar” su favor, pero realmente este hombre no está tratando de sobornarla con regalos. Solo tiene mucho dinero y la necesidad de comprarle cosas bonitas a las personas importantes en su vida.

Retsu es un hombre realmente paciente y tranquilo, es capaz de acoplarse a las personas con efectividad aunque le tome algo de tiempo. Entiende es difícil toda esta transición, principalmente para alguien tan joven, y no quiere agravar una relación que todavía no empieza.
Es tranquilo con sus interacciones, primero con saludos ocasionales y pequeñas pláticas que no fuerzan a su hijastra a relacionarse con él si no quiere. Va poco a poco.
Está relacionándose con ella de poco a poco, preparando el desayuno para todos, llevarles a un parque para que tomen aire fresco, llevándole a la escuela y recogiéndola también.
Retsu está poniendo su confianza en el tiempo, sabe que si evita presionar a su hijastra y no la obliga a acostumbrarse a él, ella logrará aceptarlo, a su ritmo y porque ella así lo querrá.

Hello, Chronivac support? I'm a Latino American born and raised in the US, and whenever we go meet our relatives in Venezuela I always feel out of place. I have a pretty slim build but all my relatives are huge and have smooth, hairless tanned skin. Then there's also the fact that I don't speak spanish a lot at home so I'm not as fluent as they are, especially since spanish is all they know! Can you help me find a way to get closer to them? I'll do whatever it takes, we'll be taking a flight to go visit them in a few thinks and I just want to stop thinking and relax with them. God knows what goes on in their heads,

That will help. The young man in the clothes store on a dark side street sees you, grins and picks some clothes for you from the racks.
