A tan hand lovingly ran through your hair in an attempt to soothe your tears. A deep voice softly shushed your soft sobs as Retsu pulled you deeper into his chest.

“I just don’t understand why he broke up with me, Retsu… I did everything right.” Your hands clutched onto Retsu’s red shirt, his warm gaze never left your tear stained face. “Why would he cheat?”

“A lot of men are greedy, tiánxīn.” Retsu’s thumb brushed away a few of your tears. “I’m just glad I was able to catch him in the act… I can’t stand how these men hurt you every single time.”

You sniffled and gave Retsu a soft smile that made his heart flutter. “I don’t know what I’d do without you, Retsu. This whole ordeal has me thinking… why don’t we just date?”

Retsu froze when your lips shyly pressed against his cheek. His face now beet red. What? He didn’t expect you to make the first move… this situation had tipped in his favor far more than he had expected.

Since the first time Retsu had met you last year, he had wanted you. You were the barista at a local tea spot he frequented who made the best tea. A rose amongst thorns.

You always asked about his day and you were interested in his heritage. Retsu found your company irresistible and comforting like a warm hug. He even found your curiosity adorable. And your curves? They were simply to die for.

Retsu often fantasized about grabbing at your soft flesh while he made love to you. He grew up in a temple for most of his life so his knowledge was incredibly limited, but he knew he lusted after you. Retsu knew he wanted to make love to you the way you deserved. Just let him worship you.

You were shy and sweet, the kind of person anyone would be lucky to have in their life… it was just a shame there was so much competition for your heart. It would be no issue for him to go to great lengths to separate you from the others, but he couldn’t use physical means. He’d have to use dirtier methods.

It wasn’t hard to fabricate stories of your potential lovers with his connections. Cheating, stealing, stalking, and other petty crimes were easy to pin on any man. The only issue was how Retsu saw how upset you were… he made sure to be the one to comfort you every single time.

There was no need to waste your tears on this losers when you had him. Retsu didn’t care how long it would take for you to finally look his way.

No one could ever love you like he could. Retsu made sure you ate proper meals and he’d walk (follow) you home at night to make sure you were safe. Whenever he’d have a bit of downtime after training, he’d swing by your home to clean up for you. His tiánxīn deserved a clean and comfortable home. This was merely the beginning of a proper life together!

“I love you, (your name).” Retsu whispered softly, his forehead pressed against yours. “I’m just so happy that you finally realized you belong with me…”

Yes… this was the happy ending you deserved. With Retsu.

Dating the main Baki cast HCs

Continuing on with these because... idk, I can't find many that I really like.

Baki:

You two would probably get together sometime after Kozue has had enough with his constant putting his life on the line and in danger.

He's not a good boyfriend, but he's not a bad one either. He's really only had experience with Kozue, and even then, they weren't really together for a really long time.

He's either very present or very absent, there is no in-between. Be prepared to be put on a back burner if he wants to train to defeat a strong opponent or just because he yes he absolutely needed to spend an entire month training up in the middle of nowhere.

He does try and be present for you though, he likes to show his partner that he cares and appreciates them. A lot of making food and cuddling whenever he's not obsessively training or getting ready for a fight.

Introduce this man to ASMR and he will absolutely melt tbh, he's already super chill, ASMR would just amplify that level of chill. Once you introduce the concept of a self-care night, he'll be fully on-board.

"Hey baby, are you ready for our quiet night in? The blankets are fresh out of the dryer, they'll be nice and warm."

Kozue:

You two would probably get together a while after she dumps Baki because that boy gives her too much stress to date, but she can indeed keep him as a friend. Let me tell you that the relief of having someone less likely to get themselves killed by being an idiot from planet strong does wonders for this girl.

A lot of average and basic dates, but that's okay, she doesn't need anything fancy as long as you have a good time. It's about the quality with her, and some good quality time is all she needs.

Self care is really important to her, considering she spends a lot of time studying and doing extra-curricular activities (as well as worrying about Baki's dumbass), so playing with her hair during down time or even a little shoulder massage while she's studying goes a long way with her.

High-key needs someone who can reassure her that she's doing the right thing or validate her worries and not make her feel like she's crazy or over reacting about something that stresses her out.

Pamper the hell out of her, this girl deserves it. Get her some cozy pajamas and a nice fluffy blanket, drag her into bed and watch a movie or her favourite idols performing live before bed, help this girlie pop relax after a stressful week.

"Yeah, maybe I shouldn't have crammed that project, I mean, it's not due for another while. Thanks for the help!"

Hanayama:

He met you at a bar, and the man absolutely did not waste any time expressing that he was interested. Unfortunately for him, he's basically physically unable of being suave or subtle, so he absolutely fumbled the bag in the beginning.

Don't expect him to have any idea what he's doing in the beginning, he'll be awkward and confused about what he's doing with you, a lot of just straight up staring at you and than saying something that is (probably) really weird or rude. It takes a while for things to click with him, but once they do and he figures out what sort of things you like, he's actually a pretty good partner.

He's actually really sweet once he figures out what you like. Do you like quality time? Yeah, he can do quality time once in a while, just don't expect him to appreciate it if you ask him to snuggle while he's in front of his underlings. He has a reputation to uphold you know.

He absolutely loves showing off how strong he is for you. Need that jar opened? No problem, he's got it. Just make sure you have a spare container handy for whatever is inside. You want him to help you reach something? Yeah, he can do that, up you go. Anyone bugging you? Not anymore. As a matter of fact, they're never seen again, and if they are, it's definitely in worse shape then they were last.

He's theoretically a great listener, but whether or not he's actually listening to you is a 50/50, because he might just be lost in his own head. He doesn't talk a lot, but when he does speak his mind, you should probably listen, because he doesn't really confide in a lot of people.

He'll absolutely spoil you to show off, but then sometimes he'll get you small, really thoughtful gifts that he knows you'll like. Did your favourite necklace go missing? Don't worry, he's gotten it cleaned, fixed and polished, he's got it in his back pocket in a box so he can give it to you later.

"Hey, I've got somethin' for ya. Turn around and close your eyes, trust me, you'll like this one."

Katsumi:

Honestly, you either met him while just out and about and saw him with the Shinshinkai karate boys, or you met him while you were just out and about. Either way, it's one of those situations where you wind up having no clue how you bagged this one.

He's absolutely the kind of guy to be able to charm your socks (and pants) off but he does it with pure intentions. He just wants to make sure that you know he has eyes only for you.

He absolutely uses his parent's relationship to judge if he's doing things right. Do you look at him the same way his mom looks at his dad? No? Well, looks like he needs to work harder then, because that's absolutely how he wants his pookie to look at him.

You know those giant plush teddy bears? Yeah, so does he. He would absolutely get you one. He would also crawl inside said teddy bear and surprise you, especially if you've had a rough day. So if he asks you to go grab something from the store, then be very suspicious.

Absolutely the kind of guy to cuddle you while you both sleep. He'll wake up a few minutes early just so he can spend some time cuddling you before he gets up to work out. Lots of sleepy kisses and little mumbled I love you's while he rubs your back or plays with your hair.

"Hey precious, good morning. Did you sleep okay? The sun's not up yet, we can stay in bed a little bit longer."

Jack:

Honestly, you likely met him while he was out and about, likely at a restaurant or while he was at the gym, and he probably ignored you the entire time, the man is incredibly used to having to ignore people staring at him, but he's not very used to those stares being literal heart eyes.

He's oddly enough a more competent partner than Baki, but not by a lot. He'll give you attention, sure, but you aren't really a priority in his eyes, just a nice bonus that makes life more enjoyable for him. He'll at least pause his training and workouts to give you a small kiss on the forehead or to look at you while you're talking to him.

Definitely not perfect, he's a stubborn man, and while he'll usually give in to some requests of yours. He's not going to ease up on his training, and he's not going to stop taking steroids, but he will at least refrain from taking them in front of you, and he'll at least bring water with him while he trains.

Katsumi has lazy mornings, but Jack has lazy nights. After his night-time run, supper and a shower, he's perfectly happy to curl up and laze around with you until one or both of you falls asleep.

His voice gets really rumbly when he's tired or right after he's woken up, so talking to him when he's right on the cusp of sleep winds up in him mumbling back to you, not even bothering to open his eyes unless it's just stupid enough.

He's more used to violence, so gentle touches absolutely make him shiver. If you gently scratch the back of his man's neck right at the base of his skull you can knock him out in under five minutes. He can't even complain, it probably helps with his back pain, and he's not above returning the favour.

This man radiates heat too, so a movie night in bed while it's chilly out is just pure bliss with him, because he'd absolutely start tracing little shapes on your back and thighs.

"Hey darlin', c'mere, you're gonna get cold all the way over there. The bed's warm and it's gettin' kinda late."

Kosho:

You probably saw him doing something dumb and dangerous (cough cough standing in front of a charging bull cough cough) and he somehow managed to not die??? And you also managed to not die??? Impressive.

He's not a distant partner, but he's not very close either. He doesn't want you to be seen as a potential weakness for him, but he also wants to brag about you because you're just so gorgeous and precious, and he's absolutely head over heels.

If you like taking care of your hands, that's something he'll have in common with you. His hands and feet are some of his greatest weapons, his fingers and nails especially. Give him a manicure and he will both kill and die for you.

Treating his greatest weapons with such care and gentleness is a surefire way to show that you care about him and his training. Show this man some love, he deserves it.

Playfully bullying each-other is a very large aspect of the relationship most likely, he is a younger sibling, he's gotta get that younger sibling energy out somehow, but he won't cross the line, he's not trying to be mean.

"Yeah yeah, and you're the president of the United States. Should I follow you around everywhere you go like a lovesick puppy to make sure you don't get kidnapped?"

Kureha:

You most likely met him at work, in school, or at the gym. And like most other people, you probably thought that he was really charming and well-spoken. Until you got to know him a little bit better and realized that he's just a straight up bitch.

Unlike Kosho, who playfully teases you, Kureha will sometimes actively be mean to you. If you can roll with the punches though, you'll be surprised to find that he'll start showing you that he doesn't actually mean anything by his snarky comments.

No, he will not let you play with his hair, absolutely not, that is his and his alone. You can look at it though. And don't use his shampoo either. Sure it smells good, of course it does. It's his.

I hope you don't mind messes either, because this man is either one of the neatest people alive, or one of the messiest. I'm talking just walking away from whatever he's doing for hours on end because he got called away to do something, or got the sudden urge to go workout again.

He's also a wild sleeper, so for the first little bit you'll get some good sleep, but once he gets into a deeper sleep you're probably going to get kicked or rolled around.

If you somehow manage to sleep through that, then his fifteen billion alarms are probably going to wake you up. You will not be in a normal sleeping position, because he'll have moved you around in his sleep.

He doesn't really cuddle, but he will let you curl up to him. He likes feeling how much more delicate you are than he is. He's also the kind of guy to just grab your hand and look at it for a little while, doing all sorts of random stuff like posing your fingers or bending your wrist.

"You do know that you've got some of the worst circulation that I've ever seen, right? Your fingers are always so cold, go stick them under some hot water before you give me hypothermia."

Retsu:

It's a case of right place right time with this one, because as far as you were concerned, you were just going to go get some groceries, and now there is a wall of man asking you if you know where they moved the seasoning to.

Very much an old man when it comes to love. He'll take you out on several dates before he actually asks you to be his partner. Not like, six or seven dates, nono, enough dates to just assume that you were already official.

Even when you are dating, this man is going to be working hard to properly court you. Do you want a quiet night in? He'll clean the place up, cook some dinner and set up some nice music so you can have a relaxing atmosphere.

He's also the kind of person to just spontaneously go on a walk. Sitting inside all day when there's good weather is such a waste of a good day, why not go walk through the park to go see the ducks or watch other people having a good time?

A few months into actually dating, he'll just sorta start reading you poetry. Really beautiful poetry too. The man has such a relaxing voice that he could probably soothe you to sleep. Ask him to read you a story during a rainy day and you'll be snoring before he finishes the first chapter.

"Did you want some more tea before I begin? How about a blanket? Alright, let's see what we have here."

Doppo:

Honestly, the only way I can see Doppo getting into a relationship with someone is if Natsue passes away, and even then, he probably wouldn't, but HYPOTHETICALLY, if he did, it would be with someone closer to his own age, he wouldn't want to feel like a cradle-snatcher.

We all know how devoted he is to Natsue, if he falls for you he'll fall HARD, anything you want, you can get it, just say the words. Hell, you don't even have to say the words, if he catches you looking at something for a while with that look of want in your eyes, expect it to be placed into your hands on your next date night.

Speaking of date nights, those happen frequently. He wants to make sure you know just how loved and valued you are, so he's taking you out every weekend for a nice quiet dinner somewhere cozy and pretty.

Expect for him to teach you a thing or two about self-defense. He may be your Superman, but he's not always right by your side, and he wants to know that you're safe.

Katsumi is pretty chill, so he wouldn't exactly mind another parental figure in his life either. Which is good, because Doppo does care about his son, and if Katsumi is against you being with him, he'll be stuck between a rock and a hard place.

He holds your hands a lot. When you're walking, sitting together, laying down to go to sleep, he just likes holding your hands and calling you pretty.

He's a suave mf, he knows how to compliment someone to get their heart fluttering. He'll look you dead in the eyes and give you the most thoughtful, love-filled compliment anyone has ever given you, and he won't stop until you make him shut up.

"Honey, you are the most stunning person I know. I'm lucky that you chose me, because your love is like standing in sunshine, like walking on a cloud."

Shibukawa:

I just can't see him getting involved with someone much younger than him honestly. Just imagining him with a sweet older partner that he can just sit and exist with and talk about life is just such pleasant imagery for me.

Someone who understands all his old aches and pains, and is there to support him through it. He's not decrepit, mind you, he's still pretty spry for a man in his mid seventies, so if anything, he's the one taking care of you.

He loves his early mornings, drinking tea and watching the sun rise, listening to the birds and the sounds of nature before the city comes to life, probably sitting out on a patio, just the two of you.

A lot of mischief. He's a mischievous old man, and you'd probably have to reign him in, he's not as spry as the youngsters he pranks after all, and sometimes someone needs to remind him to slow down a little sometimes.

He probably has a collection of all of his glass eyes, divided between old broken ones and new unused ones, all the way from his first one to the newest ones that he's had made. It pays to have spares.

You know the old people who pop out their dentures to scare kids? Yeah he does that with his eye, and you'd be left either trying to comfort this poor traumatized child or scold him so the parents don't get too upset. You can laugh about it later, don't worry, he certainly will be.

"Oh nonsense! That little brat needed to have a good scare, did you see the way he was treating his parents? It's just a glass eye, give him a few years and that'll be one of the coolest things he's ever seen!"

Situation: Being stepparents / Siendo padrastros.

Characters: Oliva Biscuit and Retsu Kaioh.

Oliva Biscuit.

Oliva actively tries to show that he is a good man and that his stepdaughter can trust that he is not trying to alienate her from her father/mother in any way.

Expensive and lavish gifts may be seen by his stepdaughter as a way for Oliva to “buy” her favor, but this man is not really trying to bribe her with gifts. He just has a lot of money and the need to buy nice things for the important people in his life.

At the same time, Oliva gives his stepdaughter her space, he doesn't want her to feel like he's invading her space, so he doesn't ask his S/O to move in with him or let him spend the night in their house. He dies for that to happen.

Over time, Oliva will be able to prove that he is a good and trustworthy man, he's just too big and visibly intimidating.

Retsu Kaioh.

Retsu is a really patient and calm man, he is able to get along with people effectively, even if it takes him some time. He understands that this whole transition is difficult, especially for someone so young, and he doesn't want to aggravate a relationship that hasn't started yet.

He is easy going with his interactions, first with occasional greetings and small talk that doesn't force his stepdaughter to engage with him if she doesn't want to. He goes little by little.

He is bonding with her little by little, making breakfast for everyone, taking them to a park to get some fresh air, taking her to school and picking her up too.

Retsu is putting his trust in time, he knows that if he avoids putting pressure on his stepdaughter and doesn't force her to get used to him, she will manage to accept him, at her pace and because she will want it that way.

Es tranquilo con sus interacciones, primero con saludos ocasionales y pequeñas pláticas que no fuerzan a su hijastra a relacionarse con él si no quiere. Va poco a poco.

Está relacionándose con ella de poco a poco, preparando el desayuno para todos, llevarles a un parque para que tomen aire fresco, llevándole a la escuela y recogiéndola también.

Retsu está poniendo su confianza en el tiempo, sabe que si evita presionar a su hijastra y no la obliga a acostumbrarse a él, ella logrará aceptarlo, a su ritmo y porque ella así lo querrá.

Maybe you can do so together while commenting on each other's art works as you go. You like cooking? He'll fucking melt his so excited to cook with you so you can teach each other your family's recipes

I think Retsu's love language is acts of service, it's just how he shows affection and he would never let you handle the domestic burden on your own. That being said, he would feel extremely underappreciated if you didn't also step up and help without being asked to or if you took his love language for granted

Retsu is a family man not so much in the having kids kind of way but more in the integrating into his spouse's family and integrating them into his kind of way. He would love to be close to his inlaws and for you to meet his own found family

Very emotionally supportive and caring but he sometimes hides his own feelings to avoid "burdening" you with them. It would take a lot of time to make him feel safe enough to share them and be vulnerable with you

Tons of domestic fluff all around, like I said husband material. He loves having a close intimate emotional relationship with his partner that takes a long time to build. Knowing that he can rely on and trust his partner is crucial to him. Honestly and trust are absolute must haves and the very core of what his relationships are based on so if you ever break that trust in a serious way there's no coming back from that. Retsu x fem reader Headcanons

a/n- I’ve done a headcanons before and you may or may not have ever see it but heads up I’m using some old material! Just adding to it … I hope you enjoy this!

-The Great Sea King retsu- an amazing kenpo and kung fu martial artist

-Y/n: Just moved to Japan a few years ago from an island in the Caribbean

-Who would’ve thought these two would end up in a beautiful love story?

HOW YOU MET-

Retsu had always come in first place at the annual shinshinkai held cooking competition

Not only did it make him look good, but gave him a sense of pride knowing that he was great at something other than fighting and self control (lmao)

When You see the flyers for the event you just know you have to win

You make Alcapurrias, Plátanos, and rellenos de papas: something this competition had never even seen before

It was safe to say you topped retsu by a landslide

-This man was dumbfounded but still was a great sport and congratulated you. He even asked to try your cooking!

You could instantly see his face light up at the flavor and crunchiness of everything

He asked if you wanted to exchange numbers from that point on

Could you imagine participating in a wash day for him??? Now, okay, I know some people find it weird that certain people have days especially dedicated to haircare but whatever, let's talk about it because I have a strange obsession with hair and—

Retsu was a bit apprehensive at first when you offered to help him with his hair, not that he didn't trust you, no, in fact, he trusted you with his entire life.and then some. It's just that he's never had such an experience before. He was just barely becoming accustomed to affection and getting used to your love language as well as finding what his was. You'd been dating for a couple months now but you were patient with him and he was patient with you. And when you brought up washing and doing his hair for him, you swore you saw the beefy man's brain buffering in real-time, even going as far to say that you'd saw smoke coming out of his ears, but luckily, he obliged.

And here you were, using the kitchen sink to wash his hair, taking on the role of hairstylist for the day, eager to test your hair washing skills. Retsu sat in a chair in front of the sink, head tilted back with a rolled up towel used to protect his neck from the metal bowl. Retsu had undone his braid and you laid out his hair in the sink, that you'd thoroughly cleaned beforehand and put in a special drainer for hair, while you turned the water on to let the temperature heat up.

While doing that, you opened a bottle of the shampoo he often used and squeezed a hefty amount in your palms before warming it up in your hands. And then you began to wash his hair, carefully massaging his scalp while hearing your boyfriend sigh in relaxation. You scrubbed and bunched and scrunched— all the fix-ins, and maybe about three minutes later you could hear Retsu snoring. Did you have the magic touch?

The thought was enough to make you snicker to yourself as continued to wash his hair, being extra careful with the silky locks. If there was one thing that Retsu cared about almost as equally as he cared about his fighting craft, it was his hair. You were somewhat aware of the importance to it in his culture, but you didn't know too much about the deeper meanings. Even so, you were glad that he'd trusted you enough and felt safe enough to nap while you tangled your fingers in his hair.

And by the time you finished shampooing, you moved onto conditioning his hair, deciding to let it sit for a bit before you'd rinse it. As you waited, you stepped back and watched your lover sleep, looking peaceful and unbothered. You took the time to study his face a little more than usual, taking note of his handsome face. He seemed to have a permanent scowl, but you couldn't help but to notice that while he slept, the lines in his face seemed to relax a little.

"Do you usually stare at your customers while washing their hair?"

His voice startled you out of your self-induced trance and you nearly stumbled back but quickly caught yourself, trying to play it off as he peeked an eye open, eyeing you with a bit of a cocky smirk.

"Oh shut it. You're my first and only customer. Consider yourself lucky."

You then huffed, deciding to wash the conditioner out of his hair before you both started bickering.

Once you'd washed his hair, you applied one of the hair masks he'd use to keep his hair shiny and sleek and then it was time for a movie, letting the mask sit for a bit. And when the thirty minute mark hit, you were rinsing out his hair yet again, pulling out the special drying towel he'd often use to dry his hair with minimal tears and such.

Now, with you on the couch, Retsu sat between your legs on the floor in front of the couch while you were brushing his hair like the crazy bitch in Rapunzel, thankfully you weren't singing. It was obvious that this was the best part for Retsu, you could practically hear him purring as you brushed through his hair, the bristles caressing his scalp with each stroke. And by the time you were done brushing through his locks, you could have sworn you heard him whine when you stopped and started to braid his hair, just how he liked to usually style it.

And once you were truly done, you tugged on your work, pulling his head back by his pigtail and he tilted his head back to look up at you with a grunt. You leaned down and pressed a kiss to his forehead before patting one of his cheeks.

"I take payment through Cash App, Venmo, PayPal, or through kisses. Take your pick."

Baki Cast Odd Habits

Ideas are bouncing around in my empty little noggin non-stop, so I'll keep writing them down for both your and my own enjoyment. Have some odd habits that the Baki cast have! I'll be making another post about habits that they all have towards each-other later on.

Baki:

The man stares. A lot. At everything and everyone. If he finds anything mildly interesting, everyone knows, because he'll be leaning over to stare at it, those big ol' peepers of his are wide open, and they see all.

He uses pens as drum sticks on his thigh whenever he gets bored and has more than one in his immediate reach. Does he actually know how to play drums? No, but would he be good at them? Probably.

If he can have a say in what channel the TV is turned to, it's absolutely to some nature documentary about bugs. Bro likes bugs, thinks they're neat as hell, and he'll always take the opportunity to learn more about them if that can potentially make him stronger.

Get this man a fidget toy and watch him just zone out completely. Were you saying something important? He certainly didn't notice, because he's been busy with this fidget cube for the past hour and a half staring at that one specific spot on the wall.

Smelling random shit. Seriously. If he gets bored enough, and there are enough things around him, he'll just pick them up and sniff them. Too big to pick up? He'll just lean in. It works great when you're grocery shopping, the man can pick the best fruits and veggies. Not so fun when it's, you know, an empty ceramic vase.

Kozue:

She chews on stuff, like, all the time. Gum, pens, her nails (she's trying to kick that habit don't @ her) or even mints. She's a heathen and she knows it, but that doesn't stop her from cracking a mint in half with her molars.

All those fun and weird hairstyles she did when she was younger? Yeah, that was a habit of hers too. She'd zone out while she was playing with her hair and wind up with some pretty interesting looks.

She plays with her clothes a lot too. She'll worry at the edges of her sleeves, or play with the hem of her shirt or jacket. She does it a lot even if she's not nervous, it's just a really stubborn habit of hers that doesn't stop. And it's not just her own clothes either. If she can, she'll start picking at Baki's shirts and sweaters too. All those little balls of fluff? They'll be gone by the time she's done.

That's another habit, picking at things that don't fit the established texture of an item. Is there a rough patch on her desk because the protective lacquer wore off? That patch is going to steadily get bigger and bigger because she'll pick at it.

She's picked up Baki's habit of smelling things, and it's something she catches herself doing all the time for no reason. He'll just hand her an apple and tell her to smell it, and she will, without question. Get this girl a candle collection.

Hanayama:

Destruction. That's a habit, right? Or would that be considered a hobby? He used to really like just destroying things with his grip strength as a child, and that has NOT changed in the slightest. It's less of a hobby now and more of just an outright habit.

He destroys, but he also makes things... Sometimes. He'll do it absent-mindedly, just tear an entire magazine apart just so he can twist it into little shapes and figures. Useless with a paintbrush, and also useless with any propter sculpting media, but just hand him a book or something and let him sit without entertainment for a few minutes and watch as he turns it into an art project that would make 14 year old you insane from jealousy.

Fixing little things here and there. Is that vase slightly skewed? He'll straighten it out. Same with that picture frame on the wall, and that carpet, and that stack of loose papers you meant to put away... Now that he's thinking about it, your entire bedroom is slightly off-center, and that's really bugging him.

Not knocking when he walks into a house. Like, ever. This man doesn't knock unless he absolutely has to, which is to say, if he's still able to walk on two feet and move his arms, he's not going to.

He folds towels in really particular ways. The tag needs to be facing a certain way, and it needs to be folded in a specific direction with a specific method... The man is really picky about his surroundings, he wants them to be nice.

Katsumi:

Before losing his arm, he absolutely used to bite his nails whenever he was spaced out. Both hands, he'd rip his nails off with his teeth then go in and clean them up later when he zoned back in. After losing his arm, he only ever bites the nails on his own hand. Retsu's hand gets taken care of meticulously.

He fixes his hair a lot. Like, a lot. Almost constantly unless he's fighting, he's tucking little stray hairs away so that he's all neat and clean. It applies for other people too, if he can get away with it. He definitely does it to Natsue all the time.

He stands weird as hell when it's just him and his boys. Not like, "oh, look at Katsumi, he's standing like he's never heard of posture before", nono, it's more like "what the hell are you doing?? How is that comfortable??" levels of standing weird. You ever just stood on one leg with the other one tucked up behind you? Take that and multiply it by ten.

He hums a lot. Not even particular tunes, he just hums to hum. If he's cooking, cleaning, in the shower, setting the table, anything. He's just making noises and vibing in his own little world until he remembers that he can actually just speak.

Jack:

He doesn't have a lot of super obvious habits, his mom was pretty strict on him, so if he used to bite his nails, that habit died out by the time he was like, ten for good. The only habit of his that has ever come back is his slouching, but that's more of an environmental thing at this point.

He cracks his joints a lot. There's a lot of pressure there, and he needs to relieve it somehow, otherwise he'd just be uncomfortable and stiff. Sounds like a gunshot whenever he cracks his neck, someone get this man a chiropractor.

He also has a habit of just... Staring at things. Not to the degree Baki does, where he's just blatantly looking at something. He's the opposite almost, where it's painfully obvious that he's not really looking at whatever he's staring at. Man stares straight into space quite a bit.

Diane instilled a lot of habits in him from her time in the military, so he always leaves his clothes folded neatly on the foot of his bed before he gets into the shower.

He touches his own scars a lot. Usually it's just him running a thumb over a scar on his arm when he has his arms crossed, but other times he'll rub at the scar on his throat, or the ones on either side of his face from when Pickle, you know, ate part of his face. He doesn't even realise that he does it, and if you point it out to him he'll get confused.

Kosho:

When he was younger he would pick at his nails a lot, but as he got older that habit turned into him picking at his cuticles, and then at whatever calluses formed on his hands from his training.

He also rubs at his scars, but it's something he's aware that he's doing, unlike Jack, who just doesn't process that he's doing it. Kosho has a favourite scar to rub at because it's just been there for so long that it's familiar now.

He likes to wander around and pick up little knick-knacks from around a room. Do you have a little model on your desk? He'll pick it up, look it over, then he'll put it back and move onto the next thing. His brother's office is a no-go for him because he'll make it even more of a mess than it already is.

Speaking of his brother, when they're having one of their genuine brotherly moments and not one of Kureha's smartass "I'm your big brother" moments, Kosho just starts to hip-check his older brother. Not hard, mind you, just a little bump, but it's something that he started doing when he was young and never stopped.

Kureha:

This man doesn't have many habits at all, and if he does, they're beneficial to him, because he's a petty bitch that way. He's legitimately trained himself to do these little habits so even when he's "at rest" he's still improving himself.

His worst habit, however, is when it comes to his laundry. Clean or dirty, this man puts off folding it for as long as physically possible by just ignoring its existence. Fresh load of laundry, straight out of the dryer that gets shoved right into his hands? It's like it doesn't exist, he just puts it down on the nearest surface and keeps going like it was never popped right into his grubby mits.

He used to toy with the ends of his hair a lot when he was little, but he's long grown out of that habit. If anything, now he'll just toy with a stethoscope or a pen if he has them handy.

Retsu:

This man has the most wholesome habits out there. If he starts to get bored, he doesn't immediately jump to training, he just goes for a walk. Is it kinda cloudy outside? That's fine, just go walk through a wooded area.

Hand him a flower and instead of picking at the petals, he just gently pets them. He doesn't want to damage the flower, it's just that they're so soft and delicate that he can't help but touch them and admire their natural beauty.

If a bug lands on him, he'll just sorta let it sit there and catch its breath for a minute. If it doesn't fly off on its own fast enough, he'll just take a small pause to set it down or gently blow it off of him so he doesn't crush it.

Can direct eye contact be a habit?? Because he makes it a habit to always look at the person talking to him and nod at least three times while they're talking so they know that he's listening. Direct eye contact, active listening, this man wants people to know that he's legitimately paying attention.

Doppo:

He stares at Natsue a lot. Give him the chance to sit and stare at his wife all day and he will. If he was a poet instead of a karateka, he'd write enough sonnets about her to fill the ocean with paper. He just thinks that she's beautiful.

Ever since he got his hand cut off, he rubs at his wrist occasionally. It's not like it hurts, no, the doctor did a good job putting it back on, but sometimes he just has to feel that little scar around his wrist.

We know where Katsumi got his habit of humming from, and it's this man right here. Walking around the house, cleaning the dojo, getting ready to do some early morning training, he'll just be humming along.

He developed a habit of fixing Katsumi's clothes and hair when he was younger, and that habit has kept around. If he notices that his son has a leaf on his shoulder or if his sweater drawstring is a bit loose, he'll just reach over and fix it.

Shibukawa:

He cleans his glasses a lot. Not even because they're that dirty, it's just a familiar, repetitive motion that he doesn't even realise he's doing most of the time.

He pats people a lot. Not to be demeaning or anything like that, he just does it. A quick pat on the hand or the arm, sometimes even a thigh if that's all he can reach. Just a small old person pat that they just do sometimes.

He reminds people of their youth quite a bit, and it's absolutely a habit by now. A lot of "Young man" and "youngster", but also a lot of "when I was your age" and "back when I was in my prime", even if it comes out of nowhere.

He absolutely fidgets with his fingers in his sleeves whenever he's just sitting there, chilling. It's probably something he picked up when he was younger, and he can't place where or when he started doing that, but he 100% does it.

!BONUS!

Tokugawa:

He absolutely has developed little habits with each of his fighters, he loves them so much, these men are fantastic and they all mean so much to him.

He absolutely brings little candies and snacks for Baki, even "sneaks" them to him in that little old person way of grabbing your hand and stuffing said snack into your palm. He can't help that he's so fond of his champion, who is incredibly food motivated.

He always calls Kozue "Little Miss" or "Little Lady" whenever he sees her, because while he knows she's not a fighter, and actually dislikes fighting as a whole, he does still appreciate that Baki has such a headstrong woman to take care of him.

He pats the taller fighters on the back of their calf when he walks past them so they know that he's there. He does it to Jack so often that he doesn't react to the touch itself, but if he glances down to see that it isn't Tokugawa he actually jumps a little.

He just lets himself get picked up and carried around by the fighters at this point. He's accepted that he's just small and light, and they mean it in as respectful a way as possible, they've all just gotten used to picking him up and walking off with him to go wait for a fight to start.

Definitely a social smoker, if he's sitting with Doppo and Gouki he'll light his pipe and have a little puff now and again, especially if they're having a few drinks.

Jun Guevara.

He cannot believe what he sees, they must be a deity that came down from the heavens to delight humanity with their presences, so majestic and merciful.

No one should doubt his love for his S/O, there is simply no more way for Jun to show how much he loves his S/O in case anyone has any doubts, no matter how they look.

As if this man could find anything wrong with his partner, really, he is an idiot in love with the sea and his S/O. There's nothing else on that head other than his S/O. I'll even leave it at this point, it's just obvious.

Mumon Katsuragi.

Mumon can be curious, but he is extremely laid back, he won't dig too deep if the S/O's are reluctant to talk about their aspects.

He may be a little silly, but he is not an idiot and he knows how to read people, so he will be in charge of making his S/O feel at ease when they are with him.

Sporadic and sincere praise, smiles and good wishes. He is sweet.

If they ever seek to be heard, Mumon will be there, he will listen to their insecurities and make them feel loved. He can understand if they feel too left out in some places and will comfort them for that.

He can make his S/O happy, no matter what they look like, he loves them.

Musashi Miyamoto.

To be honest, I think he would see the S/O as some kind of supernatural deity or spirit.

His mind is greatly influenced by traditional beliefs where he respected and feared supernatural creatures because they brought fortune or destruction.

I think he would kneel in front of the S/O after watching them uncomfortably for a while, asking for wisdom and strength to continue getting stronger.

A little reluctant to stop believing that they are deities, even if someone else or the S/O themselves explains that this is not the case. He'll stop mentioning it out loud, but I'm sure he still believes it.

Their relationship is a little strange at first for this very reason; Many people ask for kisses/blessings from their partners for good luck as motivation, while Musashi will firmly believe that his S/O does grant him luck.

He is the most faithful and devoted admirer of his S/O, he is also the most dangerous, he does not accept insults towards his S/O. They are warned.

Retsu Kaioh.

MY man is really understanding, he wouldn't be able to single out anyone for any particularity, because that's not honorable.

For this man, the sentimental and spiritual connection is painfully important, it is at a level far above the physical appearance.
