My first ttrpg (setting) Street Wolves is now getting a turbo upgrade on Kickstarter.
Street Wolves takes place in the late 1980s and it features investigators on the edge fighting hidden foes in the neon shadows.
I'm looking to get it printed with a layout upgrade, and stretch goals include more art, adventures, and a campaign! Plus there's tons of cool add-ons available.
Please check it out!

I'm looking up GM advice for SWADE and everything's like 'It's not like DnD! You balance based on vibes'
Friendo I balance all my encounters in every ttrpg ever with my heart and not my brain

Daily Drawing #54
Played with my TTRPG group last night, so drew my character The Behemoth. We did fight skeletons but actually I grabbed the necromancer and slammed him into a skeleton instead of this lmao. Just didn't wanna draw a whole extra guy.
We're playing Savage Worlds in the Rippers setting! Basically Victorian monster hunters. SW doesn't have classes but they're essentially a Barbarian, with a berserk ability and everything. Rippers specifically has this system of implanting body parts from supernatural creatures to give abilities and such, so Behemoth is a hand-to-hand fighter with werewolf claws. And is full of fiend's blood, and is abnormally big. I'm a sucker for dark experiments and body horror. I usually play magic users in DnD so I was purposefully trying to make a very different character. They've been pretty cool to play so far!

Shay of the Fire Keepers - Holder of Knowledge and Assistant to Lady Eglatine Solanales
Wanted to paint Eglatine's partner, Shay. They're a little bookworm that cares not for your gender ideals, and would rather be reading. They're a member of an occult society that deals in magic, and Eglatine's closest confidant. Wonder if they've ever wanted more?
Shay belongs to @/everlastingritz

We're about to start a Necessary Evil Campaign, and so I wanted to cover the characters in this game. The PCs, the NPCs will come up organically. Now, other read throughs I have read and groups on Facebook that talk about this campaign have all had what I would say are fairly normal, evil human who has superpowers batman or the flash style villains. But not my group of chaos goblins.
We start with the seemingly normal "The Gift".
The Gift, or Carl as he usually goes, teleports. This sounds pretty normal right? No. Carl explodes when he teleports, or rather, the concussive force of the spontaneous displacement... look, he has a Damage Field that's Permanent, but also Contingent on Teleport, so he can't not explode on tele-- I'm not getting into the rules but teleport makes explode. So when he activates his teleport the equivalent of a grenade goes off hurting everything and everyone in the area. And no, he can't choose not to hurt things or people, so he can't like, teleport to the hostage or teleport you out of danger. Oh, and his weapon of choice? He throws grenades.
Then alphabetically we have Glocktopus. A genetically engineered gun toting Octopus. Literally an octopus with telepathy, guns, aand some disguise as human skills, like Octodad but also al Capone. I don't remember whether he always walks on 2 tentacles aand has 6 guns, or usually has 8.
Then Grave Mistake, a cursed necromancer who summons zombies and has bad luck powers, causing people to make mistakes and also machines to break but also he is throwing zombies at you. He may be the least insane.
Next is Major Zen'cha. The Major is a slug like alien which came to Earth to conquer it, only to have his thunder stolen when the V'Sori conquered it first. Bad timing. So he has a super suit that looks like a human but is nigh indestructible. Zen'cha isn't the fiercest in combat, but he is quite the tank and skill monkey (skill sluggy). All of his points went into being skilled and smart, aand all of his powers went into being hard to kill.
And finally, Ufrek. Ufrek is a malleable silvery robot, think the T1000 from T2 except it's always shiny silver and never has a color. Ufrek turns it's body into blades and spikes and has no ethics or morals, and is really really good at close combat. He is a Cuisinart with legs.
So that's it. That's my crew, as it stands now.
Right now they're in a V'Sori prison being transported to a lab, where some of them will be dissected and others will simply be destroyed.
But unbeknownst to them (but beknownst to us!), Baron Blade has a mighty need for exactly the kind of distraction our Protagonists can provide!
Wait? Baron Blade? Like from Sentinels of the Multiverse? Yes. I'm setting this particular iteration of Necessary Evil: Invasion in the SotM universe, which mostly means changing a few NPC names.

continuing to have orbit thoughts
[Image Description: Two near identical drawings of a muscular man on a dark grey background. He is sat with his legs apart and his arms resting on his knees and his hands relaxed. He is looking back towards his shoulder half smiling. His eyes don’t have irises or pupils. He has short dark hair and wears a white T-shirt, dark jeans, and sensible boots. His right hand has a loose boxers wrap around it and he has a watch on his left wrist. There’s a two tone spotlight in the background and a starlike halo around his head.
The first image is entirely in greyscale. The second has a gradient map applied over the top of him and the details in the background. The lightest parts of the image are a pale warm pink and the darkest parts are an inky purple. The whites of his eyes are brighter as if they are glowing. Written in cursive alongside the spotlight "you know we’re gonna be legends" is written in cursive. End ID.]

wife was talking about doing tabletop stuff again and we both like Savage Worlds so she was like “hey, how would you like to run a game using your Manorpunk setting?”
I had already been thinking that I’d like to make something more ‘official-feeling’ than a collection of posts. folks, I think I’m gonna make a Manorpunk setting supplement.

Been working on a cyberpunk setting for the better part of a year now. Even wrote an introductory blurb for my group for it:
Umbral Shift 2: Shadowgate:
5 Years have passed since the fateful events in the city of Falcon on Plulola. After the ashes of the war between Soultech and Dragonsoul has settled, the world found itself plunged into the new reality that Magic was returning, and it was returning fast. Many opportunistic forces, whether small sized or megacorp, smell profit in pursuing the new ventures this opens, whether it be Soulware or new possible and more widespread applications of magic this opened up. One of the most prosperous and quickest advancing forces in this race is based in the city of Paradise on the continent of Velusia. Despite its name the city is everything but that. The characters stem from humble beginnings, whether as an office drone, a small time criminal or fresh graduate of the local Magical Institute. The one thing that connects each of them is a tragic event in their past that changed the way they view the world, the dystopia they live in. Thus they strive to be a positive force of change among the filthy, crime and corruption filled, streets. Threatened by the seemingly ever present crushing weight of hopelessness.
This game would be run in Savage Worlds Adventurers Edition with elements of the Sprawlrunners book, its unofficial expansion and Street Wolves. We already had a Shadowrun'ish game in that system before (Umbral Shift 1) and even though our characters had good intentions, they have been murdering their way through corporate security and gangs. (Kobold Gangs, not gonna go into it unless someone wants to hear about it).
I foudn that a bit jarring, specifically in case of my character in that game. So I will adopt a drive mechanic from Street Wolves that makes it so that certain acts sap the drive from a character and drives them closer and closer to the brink. Recovering drive is possible, but by no means sinple or easy. A character can go to therapy or spend time with loved ones and foster their pribate relationships.
For all intents and purposes, the characters in this game will be normal guys who moonlight as vigilantes on OPs of their own choosing. Hight times and low times. High action stressful world changing missions with high personal stakes and then some down times, catching breath hanging out with your peeps, maybe getting a reminder who all thia effort is for.
Yes, kobolds will be playable as well. In fact, I already thought about a kobold NPC that may or may not end up helping the group. He is a tiny sleazy lawyer who abuses loopholes and his criminal connections to get his clients out of trouble. (Because i know my group, at times they can be as subtle as a rhinoceros in a china store, a bad quality for Vigilantes doing obviously illegal shit). Think Saul goodman but kobold. He also runs ads on the net and in Augmented reality. "I am the smallest Lawyer around, so small, I can fit into any budget, call now!"

I love the SWADE system. Its always super simple and easy to use, but even the original character sheets tend to be a bit much for me. To remedy that, I made my own! It is pay what you want on my shop starting at free! Feel free to hop on over to my ko-fi to snag an unwatermarked version!
ko-fi link will be in the reblogs!

Weird Wars: Rome - Character Creation
Tumblr media
Preface
This is a solo RPG log using the Savage Worlds Adventure Edition, the Weird Wars Rome Legatum campaign, and Mythic as a GM emulator.
To anyone who reads these logs, they are absolutely not meant to be any authority on history. On top of tropes and other inaccuracies will be a veneer of secondary reading purely for fun!
The Characters
In the Legatum campaign, the characters are members of Legio XIX, in the 2nd Punic War, 217 BC. I will be generating three legionaries within an 8-man contubernium and simply running the remaining as extras when needed. One character must hold the Decanus rank to command the tent - part of the fresh Hastati.
Tumblr media
Caeso Tanicius Vindex
Our Decanus. With steadfast loyalty to the Republic and the Legion, his values have held him firm where others may have faltered. While relatively fresh, Caeso has seen a number of skirmishes and been the first to clash with the enemy. Having been over-eager, Caeso wears his military experience on his body - deep wounds disfigure parts of his face and upper torso. Those marks command respect from those who know those achievements, and afforded a faster rise to Decanus, but invite mockery and disgust from others.
Service: 3 Years Attributes: Agility d6, Smarts d6, Spirit d6, Strength d8, Vigor d6 Pace: 6; Parry: 7; Toughness: 5 Hindrances: Death Wish, Thin Skinned (minor), Ugly (major) Edges: Command, Rank (Decanus)
Vibius Duronius Draco
The Draco family had not long ago lived in southern Sicily. Vibius' family were carpenters by trade and, during the 1st Punic War, Rome required their service to develop its naval ships. Carthage landed in Akgrakas, razing it. Most of the Draco family were killed during the invasion, and had to flee to central Italy. His mother told him stories of the fires across Akragas, and vivid details of the invasion. Vibius joined the legion, holding deep resentment against Carthage. A noted ability to take advantage of typically unadvantageous combat situations means he is either lucky, skilled, or both.
Service: 5 Years Attributes: Agility d8, Smarts d6, Spirit d4, Strength d6, Vigor d6 Pace: 6; Parry: 5; Toughness: 5 Hindrances: Bloodthirsty, Phobia (fire), Quirk (scraping calluses) Edges: Extraction, Luck
Sextus Desticius Stichus
With minimal marketable skills, Sextus lacked any true means of finding a living. His worth ethic was poor, so relied instead on charlatan schemes, gambling, and other crooked sources of income. Frequently in trouble with the authorities, Sextus' family made an ultimatum - but with the number of debts and enemies he was racking up it made sense to leave anyway. He thought glory and spoils awaited, but found instead his lack of stomach for the gorier elements of legionary life. Stuck with his lot, he takes comfort in hustling and gambling between others in the Legion or beyond - often owing him favours.
Year of Service: 4 Attributes: Agility d8, Smarts d6, Spirit d6, Strength d6, Vigor d6 Pace: 6; Parry: 6; Toughness: 5 Hindrances: Greedy (minor), Shirker (minor), Yellow Edges: Connections, Danger Sense

One thing I've really had fun making for the upcoming Kickstarter of my setting Street Wolves: Turbo Edition is a usb drive shaped like a cassette tape that has a case, stickers, and a printed card. The card even reverses to make the tape look like the debut tape of a character from an adventure.
In case your curious, here's a recipe for the project:
Me designing the J-card front and back and the tape sticker front and back.
Cassette tape case bulk order.
USB Cassette bulk order.
Tape label blanks, with me printing them at home.
J-card professionally print order.
Me assembling it all at home, including carefully placing the stickers and cutting a little piece of the tabs in the case so it doesn't get stuck after it closes.
On the computer side: Organizing some folders with stuff in them and dropping them onto each usb drive.
You can follow the Kickstarter here.

Thirst For Adventure
Tumblr media
Are you thirsty? Adventurous? Thirstily Adventurous?! Check out this adventure I wrote for Savage Worlds with art by WaylessLottie! It's about a magic, wine, cocktails, elementals, heists and drinking! Inside we've got maps, enemies, puzzles, treasures to steal and rules for getting magically drunk! Check it out HERE!
THIRST FOR ADVENTURE Cervisia is a mage who has turned her powers not to immortality or power, but to collecting, brewing and refining alcoholic drinks. Her abode is filled with enchanted liquors and flagons but in her cellar now lies the most expensive wine ever brewed: the Millennium Guzzle. It’s your job to get it, and whatever else you may find along the way. Good luck!

Had a bad session. Felt useless and stupid, everything went wrong, no progress was made. I wasn't the only one failing, but idk exactly how my fellow players felt so can only speak for myself.
We essentially fell into a murder mystery without knowing why we were there, and not a single character in the party is a smart investigator OR charismatic face. We either failed every check or only rolled well on places that didn't matter and basically never learned anything. And then another NPC died and I got in a big argument with our DM PC. Behemoth's having a rough time.

I made an overlay for our Savage Worlds game. When we play Genesys games I tend to forget all my buffs, when we play Savage Worlds, I tend to forget I'm shaken, so I made little status icons for the three main states I think Duncan will end up being in. Forces me to remember it a little better! And KO was mostly for funsies.
I made these earlier this week but I wanted to surprise my friends with this so I waited until they had seen it live in our session before posting uwu
Tumblr media
And there's the overlay I whipped up! I've been meaning to make overlays for a long time but things had been rough so I never got around to, so I'm happy I finally have one.

Going Aquatic Part 3: World Building
It’s #AquaticSummer and I’m loving writing these posts! People know I love my world building, and now it’s time to dive into the complexities and considerations of creating an aquatic setting. The cool thing here is that a lot of this guidance borders on being genre agnostic, so let’s go! Continue reading Untitled
