Reasons why TSC Fans are looking forward to TWP
KitTy, obviously.
Dru, Ash and Jaime dynamic. I bet there's going to a lot of heavy stuff with them, both boys crushing on 1 girl. Dru, you go, girl!
I also heard that people want to learn more of other Shadowhunter families other than the main 5, that is to say, Herondales, Blackthorns, Carstairs, Fairchilds and Lightwoods. In TWP, we'll learn about a Brazilian family, Pedroso (from Dru's friend at the Academy, Thais Pedroso) and an Indian family, Joshi (from Ty's friend at the Scholomance, Anush Joshi). Variety!
Finally, a non-evil Morgenstern (I'm talking Ash here)! The only other good Morgenstern that we have is Clary, and she doesn't even take up the name, choosing to stick to Clarissa Fairchild. It's time the Morgenstern name was cleared.
We never got to hear what happened to Kit and Simon from Thule. Also, Mark and Kieran from Thule might still be alive, because of the protection of The Wild Hunt. We also have a live Cristina, and a live Livvy Blackthorn. One can only guess what happened to Simon and Kit. Comment if you have any ideas or theories cuz I only have one and I got it from another post.
We also have so many loose ends, like the Cohort, Janus, the Fey, Thule, the Princes of Hell, Mother Hawthorn... It'll all get cleared up in TWP. Sorry I can't elaborate, because I have no idea what could be done about these!
Our main heroes, Dru and Ty and Kit, are going to be so powerful! I'm taking a wild guess when I say that they'll probably have powers extra to what they already have as Shadowhunters, but this is just guessing. No doubt about one thing though, they're going to be the Big Three in TWP.
And then there's Lucifer, the big daddy of demons and all problems in general. In a post that I reblogged, there was a theory that says that Alec survived the Svefnthorn because of Lucifer, and that somehow it would give Lucifer control over Alec.

lucifer helped alec survive the svefnthorn - a theory
story time! i was ranting to @dustandducks about how i can't believe alec survive being stabbed by the svefnthorn (he stabbed himself but same sentiment) which was attuned to sammael at the time. sammael who, you know, is a literal prince of hell, with power only second to lucifer himself. and to add more onto this.
it is stated that only a warlock can survive being stabbed by the svefnthorn and nothing can reverse its effects. no other magical creatures in the shadoworld stand a chance against the svefnthron, except the warlock. pretty terrifying right? but this happened
alec survived being stabbed by the svefnthorn. not only did he survive, not only did there was no blood or injury or visible scar from the stabbing, but he was also able to call the thorn's power to him and used that power to help magnus. but why? how could that happen? we already established the power of the svefnthorn, and it was clear alec was not meant to survive it. i love alec, i would absolutely do something that ends me up on national news if it would make him happy, but i know his ability. he doesn't have extra angel blood or any blessing from the angels, or any secret gift that makes him exceptionally powerful, he's just your normal level shadowhunter
even alec himself was surprised when he realized he was not burnt to a crisp due to his 300 IQ decision-making skills. and i know we have the explanation about the alliance rune smoothing the thorn's demonic magic and alec's angelic magic to work together, but once again, how? we don't have a clear exposition for this, even from characters in the story
alec didn't know it would work, magnus didn't know why it worked. everybody's best guess were fate taking it easy on them. and for sammael-
he just...left, like how corporate taking down their pride flags the second pride month is over. no rage, no murder, nada, just disappeared into space. he also seemingly non fazed by the fact that alec survive a thorn with clearly anti non-warlock embedded to its manual.
@dustandducks raised a really good point, what if someone else, some higher power meant for alec to survive. the usual, and maybe logical answer would be angel looking out for their descendants, cause alec need to fulfill a greater destiny in the future. im going to play the devil’s advocate here and suggest that lucifer popped up and gave alec a little demonic magical assistance. this conspiracy somewhat tied up the loose ends in the lost book of the white and built some interesting story beat for the wicked power and the black volume of the dead
the twist fitting to what we already known from tlbotw
maybe the reason why sammael didn’t snatch alec up and put him in some demonic science lab in his realm is because he sensed lucifer’s presence and decided not to mess with anything lucifer was cooking up. (as lucifer is more powerful than him, which is also stated before the stabbing scene in tlbotw) it can also tied in sammael’s motive of gathering other princes of hell to talk about lucifer in the epilogue. tlbotw was setting up the grounds for tbvotd, magnus escaped becoming a greater demon’s minion leading to alec becoming the minion of a greater greater demon
how the twist affect the future events in the tsc universe
one might be thinking, why would lucifer saved alec, he just a normal shadowhunter, why would the literal mega ultimate OG devil care about him? as much as i would like to say it’s because everything revolve around alec and everyone love him (as they should), i know it’s not the case.
many have speculated that in the final series, there will be a showdown between demons and the shadoworld. and what if lucifer wanted to infiltrate the enemy’s side, wreck them slowly from the inside and make them suffer at the hands of their kind. his spy should held high position, a major voice among the children of the angels and has a connection to the downworlders, and someone who wouldn’t pose as potential suspect easily.
enter alec who fit all these criteria and more. who would think their consul is under the control of lucifer and is working against them? if alec under the influence of lucifer wreaked havoc from the shadow, it could create more base for the cohort to claim that they were right and the clave in exile would suffer under an incompetent lead, causing animosity and conflicts in the already tense political situation. and when the truth comes out? chaos everywhere. lucifer didn’t even have to lift a finger to see the shadowhunters crash and burn

I feel like you’re asking me indirectly if I think those theories that Lucifer was behind Alec’s not dying due to the stabbing and that he’ll possess Alec later in the series that I see sometimes on my dash are true.
Which… I don’t tbh
I do think there will be some weird side effects for Alec (shadowhunter or not, he got stabbed by the Svefnthorn and it’s bound to do something. I mean just look at how a single stabbing affected Magnus
Not exactly suspicious, just that the side effects will take time to show up, if they do at all. Maybe we’ll see something show up in tbvotd
I don’t think there was anyone else behind it. Maybe a different explanation than “Alliance rune” will come up, but otherwise, I honestly don’t think much of that moment lol 🤷♀️

Dani I do think about magnus saving Alec's life in cob a lot. These hoes have saved eachother so many times in so many iconic ways. But my most favorite one is Alec plunging the Svefnthorn into his heart to save magnus. That scene was cinematic.

Okay but when Alec stabbed himself with the Svefnthorn I was really hoping that would somehow build up to a plot where he becomes immortal. I know there is books written that take place after that and he is still a mortal but this will be my headcanon until the last book of The Eldest Curses is out because I don't want to think of Alec growing old while Magnus stays immortal :(

I don't really feel like writing today. That tends to happen when I'm stressing out. But I thought I'd give it a shot, and see if I could vent my frustrations a bit.
One of Morpheus' kids has gotten too big for his britches. His name is Filodoxia, "ambition," which is apt. He goes by "Dox."
Ever since the tragedy at the infirmary, and the loss of several of his siblings, Dox has been rapidly climbing through the ranks, his sights set on becoming a faction leader. It's not a bad goal to have, but Morpheus insists he's not ready. And with him being barely three years old (a pre-teen in oneiroi standards), I have to agree.
It all started when he approached me to try to supersede his father's ruling. Morpheus had insisted that if he wasn't able to counter the svefnthorn rune, then he wasn't ready. And Njorun's logic was simply to show him how much he had yet to learn... which put him into a three-day sleep.
Naturally, I refused to give him a pass, and instead I gave him some new things to practice. Hints and such to keep him on the right track. But after that, the boy didn't sleep. He trained day and night, and even somehow managed to get a blessing from Eos to keep him awake.
Morpheus grew concerned, and came to me for advice. I asked him what he had needed when he was young and reckless and still learning what he could do.
"Legitimacy," he said.
I thought about it for a moment. All Dox wanted was to be taken seriously. So I advised Morpheus to set a date for Dox to test up a level, and we called the boy in to announce our decision.
Dox was... less than pleased. He insisted he was ready right that moment. No amount of disagreement was going to make him realize he wasn't ready, so I put a stop to the argument.
He left, and Morpheus bemoaned that the kid was going to go off and do something stupid... which he did. He tried to get into Muspelheim to start processing Ingrid. Morpheus and I watched from a distance as Dox went right up to the twelve-foot-tall fire Jotunn guard and demanded entry. The guard tried to put him in his place, but the kid wouldn't back down.
He wanted something to process... and he needed to be broken. So the Jotnar and I showed him how woefully unprepared he was. He fought to use every last bit of his training... and he still withered under the pressure. His hair turned white, and he became gaunt and pale.
And as soon as he was finished, the guards took him to a cell and left him there.
He languished in the cell for several days. The jotnar tried to get him to process his fears, but he lasted only a few minutes before he had to call it quits. He came home to the Dream World with a high fever and an iridescent rash, courtesy of a guide who was standing by.
We're still watching his progress, but he'll be back on his feet in no time. And hopefully causing fewer problems.

I don't know why this isn't talked about much, but, among the loose ends and problems that are going to be tied up in TWP and BBOTD, the one we've least talked about is Shinyun Jung.
She is a valid problem too, y'know? And as far as The Lost Book of The White tells us, her current power is comparable to that of LUCIFER. And we know that because she said at the end of the book that her power won't be dependent on any world like Sammael depends on Diyu. That makes her more powerful and more dangerous than the frickin' Father of Demons. She is FAR from gone.
Although I think that her power would be unstable due to the lack of a dependable resource and it would also be dangerous to herself, that doesn't mean she won't do enough damage on the way down.
In one of my reblogs, there's a theory that states that Alec survived a jab from the Svefnthorn because Lucifer bent the thorn's magic. That theory is solidified by the Epilogue of LBoTW, where Sammael gathered the other Princes of Hell, to inform them about Lucifer's plan. Obviously, that means Lucifer wants to keep tabs on the leader of all Shadowhunters, right? And who better to give him personal information about him than Shinyun Jung? Who spent quite a lot of time with Alec and Magnus in RSoM.
She won't be planning on serving Lucifer, though. She'll instead concoct a partnership with him, where they both are on equal levels. In my imagination, Lucifer probably bosses the other Princes into serving Shinyun too. Irrelevant, but still. :)
I also think she's going to be a part of Lucifer taking possession over Alec, which I think was the purpose of saving Alec in the first place.

do anyone think tbvotd will be about or involve the side effect/consequence of alec stabbing himself with the Svefnthorn in tlbotw? this is 100% my own thoughts but like alec genuinely thought he was going to die in this scene. and there’s still no explanation on how the Alliance rune manage to balance the power out either.
and magnus also has no either how the thing work
and excuse me if im wrong but Sammael is a legit greater demon right? a fallen angel? then it would be logical to assume that there will be some side effect from taking the power of Sammael through the Svefnthorn. i mean it could be alec getting some weird symptoms and the gang try to figure out what it is. i dont know. i just think it’s a potential plot point for tbvotd.

Raven. “Put people to sleep.” Ok, fine, but you didn’t give me any fucking arrows, and there are no arrows anywhere on the stage. “You don’t need arrows to use your bow to put people to sleep, even though the FUCKING DESCRIPTION SAYS ‘An arrow marked with the Svefnthorn symbol puts targets to sleep almost instantly. On impact ARROWS expel a cloud of poison, putting anyone nearby to sleep.’” So you have a bug in the game, and instead of fixing it, decided to make it a challenge?
