i refuse to believe that boycotting is hard. my favourite thing in the world is ordering maccies after a late night at work/a concert/getting drunk. yes i do miss it sometimes. but the other night i ordered from a small place near my house instead and it was the most orgasmic burger i've ever had in my life. i very rarely say this but fucking suck it up people are DEAD

MC woke up in the dead of night, their stomach growling with hunger, their throat as dry as a desert. Unable to resist the call of their rumbling belly, they tiptoed their way to the kitchen, craving a late-night snack, praying no one would find out.
Beelzebub, the avatar of gluttony, was lurking in the shadows, his keen senses alert to any movement in the kitchen, his eyes glowing violet as he follows every movement of the human quietly, like a predator.
MC found themselves in the kitchen, engulfed in darkness save for the faint glow emanating from the furnace where a colossal cauldron rested atop it. The room was eerily quiet, the only sound being the gentle hum of the refrigerator and the occasional creak of the old floorboards underfoot. The house of lamentation could be very spooky at night.
As they rummaged through the fridge, their eyes fell upon a tempting sight—a freshly baked cake, its aroma wafting through the air, promising sweet indulgence. Without hesitation, they reached for a slice, their mouth watering in anticipation.
Little did they know, Beelzebub had been watching them from the dark corner of the room, his eyes fixed on the coveted cake. His stomach grumbled as he observed MC indulging in his favorite treat. The sound was very loud, almost like a thunder, making the human shiver and squeak in fear.
“What are you eating?” He interrupts them.
“H-how long were you standing there?” They pause, gulping, their heart racing as they faced the unexpected intruder. “I was just getting a piece of this cake… Sorry, is it yours?”
Beelzebub's gaze remained fixed on the dessert, his mouth watering with anticipation. “No, uh… We can share, of course,” he replied, though the notion of sharing his beloved food was a struggle.
They knew how difficult it was for the avatar of gluttony to share his food, but even then, the two started eating together.
“Thank you, Beel, you are so sweet!”
“Now, give me a bite.” He comes closer, wrapping one arm possessively around MC's waist as he awaited his share.
With a soft smile, MC complied, offering a piece of the cake directly to Beelzebub's waiting mouth. They felt his fingers tighten slightly around them as he savored, showing off his affection toward the human despite being caught stealing his food.

i do believe there is a point in their lives where they both heal from the trauma of going through severe food insecurity but neither of them ever quite really forget just how important food can be. and when the other shares their food with them, they appreciate it as the show of affection it was meant to be

So anyway you repeatedly say we only feel corn husks and similar inedible parts to cattle but Never add a source to back it up. Having worked on farms I’m afraid for the most part the feeds I’ve seen have been parts entirely edible to humans. And like fuck man 5% of all grown soy is fed to humans or however the stat goes, do you really think the remaining 95% is inedible? really?

Ingredients such as “grain by-products” are referring to the husks, stalks, and other “green” parts of the plant that we humans don’t actually have the digestive capabilities to eat. The breakdown of most livestock feeds looks like the above when you actually take a look at it.
Different cattle feed, similar ingredients. Still primarily things that, and I have to stress this, you cannot eat. This one is slightly higher in quality and does indeed have actual grain products included. Some of those are edible to humans. Some are not. Generally cattle are fed cattle cubes with supplemental mineral licks and hay. Some also supplement with whole corn, but I can gladly assure you that corn is not in short supply and even if all the corn sold to animal feed was donated to the poor, you can’t actually live off of corn because there’s very little nutrition in it. Hence why in both human and animal food it’s typically seen as a filler ingredient. Keeps the mouth busy with a meal without making your stomach feel full and you end up eating more without feeling satisfied.
Soybeans are really only often used in feed for pigs because they’re a great source of protein for these animals. I would state that soy is also a terrible option to use as an emergency food for humans in need because while, yes, it is indeed a healthy bean, it’s also one of the top eight foods that humans are frequently allergic or intolerant towards. I’d also ask you for whether your 5% of all grown soy statistic is referring to the beans or the entire plant because yeah the beans are the edible part. The rest of the plant isn't especially healthy for humans to eat. I would say the beans are around 5% of a mature soy plant sure.
#No offense anon but when you come here with ACTUALLY MOST OF WHAT FARM COWS EAT IS HUMAN FOOD and bring up SOY in the discussion of COWS#I somewhat doubt you actually have much experience farming#because no actually cattle benefit from the green parts of the plant more than the bean parts in most cases#corn is used as a cheap supplemental feed because it’s cheap and it’s cheap because there’s so so SO much of it#And corn isn’t grown in special livestock only plantations when it’s used as feed as opposed to human food either#corn is grown en masse and processed and then sold to various companies which use the corn for various things#if animal feed companies stopped buying corn and that corn was instead bought by human food companies#that doesn’t mean corn would be any more or less accessible to the hungry#because it would go to grocery stores and TV dinner companies and sauce companies and soda companies and so on#and it would still be sold same as always#world hungerTM isn’t caused because people can’t afford corn#corn is dirt cheap and most people can afford it#it’s just barely a step above eating sand and you can’t live off of it#I’ve gone a few days only eating corn products because they were cheap#and shocking no one I had no energy and felt just as hungry after each bowl as I had before the last#people cannot survive off of that#giving corn to livestock isn’t taking away any resource of value from humans#sorry it just isn’t

It's that time of year again where it gets a little warmer and I remember that Amphibia is a show I very much enjoy thinking about. Have some Anne outfits, as a treat <3

Hello! Welcome to I focus on researching one very specific detail until I burn out!
My entire day has been consumed by figuring out how Amphibia's farming works. Like... amphibians are carnivores why do they have farms?
Well, I'll tell you why! The Plantars grow animal feed for predominantly crickets but also others such as silkworms, spiders, snails, etc. They grow produce like cabbage, mushrooms, parsnips, potatoes, dandelions, and turnips as well as heartfruit, a fruit not found on Earth.
In the past, the original amphibian hunter/gatherer societies found that mealworms were attracted to fallen heartfruit, among others. They began to use this knowledge to make traps and eventually began both containing the worms as well as growing the fruit.
Despite mealworms historical prominence in the farming and feeding of Amphibia, crickets are more popular nowadays due to their higher levels of protein. They also began growing a larger variety of produce to further increase efficiency.
Heartfruit is a kind of tree grown fruit with the color of a raspberry, size of a kumquat, and shape of a peach (hence the name). The Plantar's orchard is the only producer of this fruit as its traditionally significant but not necessary for frog kind. They are Anne's personal favorite of the Plantar's produce, being chalk full of nutrients and somehow feels nostalgic to her.
Speaking of Anne, she survives mostly on the Plantar's produce along with cricket meat (knowing that she can at least eat crickets).
After discovering that the amphibians hibernate, she begins to plant pole beans, blueberries, elderberries, and other produce and herbs in her greenhouse to cultivate while she forages and stockpiles for winter. She preps and stores wild rice, pecans, and sunflower seeds (discovered through trial and error). She keeps spare root veggies and other product in the basement. The Plantars help her do this, once they understand the situation, drying heartfruit and salting and smoking fish as well as making jerky out of bugs that they know she can have.
Anne's gonna learn to survive, even if the first winter is especially hard.

hey how come flowey and golden flowers don't have leaves?
i don't really know much but like, don't you need leaves to absorb sunlight right????
and yes the waterfall ones are in the dark but otherwise, they're found where there's sunlight -the hole the humans fall down and then Asgore's garden beside the barrier. Golden Flowers are determined and hardy, they can survive in harsh areas but they clearly thrive more under Asgore's care (and presumedly, sunlight)

so like, omega flowey is hard to consider whats canon or not. cause there's no evidence elsewhere that golden flowers have red (or pale) thorns. Tho, the vines he uses to capture the main cast with are completely green. (And Asgore's garden has vines on the wall, so maybe they are a natrual part of golden flowers?)
But maybe not. To me its clear he's mimicking cactuses (which Toriel has in her home, so we know those are underground)
