A minor detail in the Bowser's Fury mode of Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury that is easy to overlook is that when Mario takes damage, Bowser Jr. will actually laugh at him.

Very Big Fan of the whole "Mario glaring down a threat while putting himself between said threat and his loved ones" trope, 10/10 never gets old

Been a tad busy lately. Good news: had the most lovely vacation. Terrible news: my kitty started having seizures midway into the vacay. Very scary, but we took her to the emergency room and vet and she's on medication that seems to have stabilized her. Leading theory- might be cat epilepsy. I give her lots of head pats, and she seems back to her normal (ish) self. ❤️

yes, there is! Shellcreepers are the extinct ancestor of koopas and their relatives. Some of their relatives strayed pretty far from the original design. (See cladogram below the cut)

Left: in Super Mario 3D World, normally, Peach and Rosalina have fabric physics applied to their dresses. Note how Peach's dress sways and billows as she moves in World 1-1.

Right: however, some levels disable those physics. Note how in World 2-5, Peach's dress has none of the physics shown on the left, and appears stiff as she moves around.

This is actually due to the Double Cherry item. The dress physics are disabled precisely in those levels where Double Cherries can be found, as the Wii U hardware was regarded as being unable to handle up to 10 characters with dress physics on screen at once (possible in multiplayer mode with Peach and Rosalina both obtaining the maximum amount of copies). While the Nintendo Switch would likely be powerful enough to allow this, this was left unchanged in the Switch version of the game.
