Here are some WIP images (minus) the blood sweat and tears shed in the process 🤣
I decided to make the 3D piece based off the tables and chairs.
The table was crafted with wire , the base is polystyrene which I got to cut with the wire cutter (so f satisfying 🤤) , I crafted the base with clay and I stuck some fake moss to it . I recycled and old fake plant by ripping the small stones off it and adding them to my piece. How is all held together ??? SUPERGLUE !!!!
As a group our concept is the presence and absence of people I decided to make some prints of the area next to the tables and chairs which is the Locke bar typically a very busy area full of people . In contrast the table and chairs is the opposite very quiet and secluded my goal with it is to show the remanence of people while also keeping it in the theme of absence of people
My plan is to also transform the prints into their own individual masterpieces

I feel like Mom’s lamp in the living room. From far away I look perfectly put together. But one small bump quickly reveals all the ways I’ve been broken and hastily put back together.
Another day, another bottle of glue.

Okay so a funny question. Without going into details, Poker Face (the Rian Johnson series) has a character puts super glue into another character's big deep injury, tells her it's the same stuff hospitals use but big pharma doesn't want you to know, of course. Then the super glue is used on another character's wound by the receiver.
It's obviously hilarious but what exactly would happen if you put super glue in an injury? I'm sure some kids d out there has tried it. Most of the injuries and whump in the show is bullshit btw but it's fun.
You'll get conflicting opinions on whether you can actually use regular super glue to glue a cut. As a wilderness med guy, I'd say you can if you don't have other options, but you do have to do it in a certain way, and there are drawbacks to using a regular super glue vs one that is actually made for gluing skin together.
Regular super glue and medical super glue are very similar chemicals. They are both types of cyanoacrylate. The three main differences are that medical grade super glue cures more slowly, is less brittle once dry, and does not contain additives that may be toxic.
The faster a super glue cures, the hotter it gets while curing. Some regular super glues cure so quickly that they can cause minor burns, while medical grade super glues all cure slowly enough that they aren't dangerous in that way. Since skin moves a lot, having less brittle glue is also a benefit, and medical super glue is less likely to break and irritate the skin around the wound. While cyanoacrylate isn't particularly toxic in itself (at least in the amounts and way one would use it to close a cut), additives used to make the glue dry faster or hold stronger or color the glue might be.
You would not be the first person to be willing to take these risks, but they are something to consider.
To use any type of super glue to close a cut, you essentially put dots of glue along the length of the wound and hold the edges together until the glue dries. There should be space between the dots where there is no glue, since sealing a dirty wound (any wound that wasn't made under surgical conditions is considered "dirty" even after it's been cleaned) means drainage that can help carry infection out of the wound has no where to escape.
You would never put even a medical-grade super glue into a wound, since the walls of the wound need to touch each other to heal. If a wound is too deep (about a 1/2 inch +) to close just the skin without the risk of a pocket developing below the surface, you really should pack the wound instead.

A cowboy walks into a bar and orders a drink. When the bartender delivers it, the cowboy looks around and notices the bar is completely deserted other than himself and the bartender...
"Where is everybody? This place is usually packed this time of day," the cowboy says.
The bartender replies, "They've gone to the hanging."
"Hanging? Who are they hanging?"
"Brown Paper Pete," says the bartender.
"What kind of name is that? Why do they call him Brown Paper Pete?" the cowboy asks.
"Well," says the bartender, "he wears a brown paper hat, brown paper shirt, brown paper trousers and brown paper shoes."
"Weird guy," says the cowboy. "What are they hanging him for?"
"Rustling," says the bartender.

the aforementioned beading I was dreading…….
I forgot to factor in the chunky-ass frame of the canvas so they’re all attached with GLUE 🤪
We live and we learn. I’m having fun!

hi!! i saw you BEAUTIFUL tiny library and i have maybe a really dumb question about building things like it : how do you work with the glue without it getting everywhere?? i want to build things like thay, but when i've watched people on youtube working with superglue and hot glue, i just know from previous misadventures in crafting that my hands aren't so steady that i won't end up with too much glue coming out and it ruining the tiny book or getting it all over my fingers :') have you run this issue before? any tips? is it just a question of better planning + grinning and bearing it?? tysm!! xx
That's not a dumb question at all!
The glue i use Loctite, and the container it comes in has two squeeze things on either side. You barely have to apply any pressure to get a drop to come out. I like the gel because it has a thicker consistency, and is less likely to run or drip. This glue particularly is so good you only need a single drop in most cases, and if I'm covering a wider area (like, say, upholstering the chair) I apply a few drops and use a tooth pick to spread the glue around. The tooth pick sits in a bottle cap when I'm not using it so it doesn't spread glue around on accident. I also have plastic tweezers I'll use to hold things together as opposed to my own hands if I can.
I'll admit, I have pretty steady hands in general. I'm a cake decorator, so I sort of have to. But even still I'll get glue on my fingers and it sucks.
If you get glue on your fingers, do this!
Soak your fingers in lemon juice for five minutes. Wash your hands with warm-to-hot water and regular hand soap. Apply hand moisturizing hand lotion. Repeat a few times and most of the glue should come off easily.

It's been a breaking kinda day in the shop. Started by attempting another tulip but made it a bit too thin. Then made a nice bowl, then accidentally dropped it taking it inside. Luckily some super glue fixed it (mostly) up.

Praise Report (6/7/23)
Well I almost had a near hazardous experience. I did not know until now that super glue can be flammable with cotton.
Thankfully nothing caught fire, and I had a fan blowing fresh air from outside into my room where the incident happened. (Context: I was trying to apply a bit of super glue to some cotton fabric, but a bunch ended up spilling out. Smoke started to rise from the spot it spilled on the fabric, and I got hit with a strong chemical smell. I quickly then placed the fabric over by the open window and went out of my room to get some fresh air).  As of right now I feel just fine, and I'll be leaving the fan on all night to try to circulate as much fresh air into the house as I can.
I’m also thankful that our home has never caught fire, despite all the incidents where one could’ve started (like one time I left a wooden spoon laying on a oven stovetop that was on).
My family and I have had our struggles, but I am thankful that it’s mostly been minor things. Thank you Lord that my family and I have been able to keep our home.
And to go along with the “almost-fire-incident”, this week’s light-hearted video features this “very entertaining” firefighter group: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/rtY9inJExFY
