So I was definitely between three bois that being Nobunaga, Shingen and Yoshimoto
The first time Nobunaga meets you after you rescued him from the flames of the burning building, he is in awe. He is amazed at how a mere woman was able to pull a man x2 her size from a burning building. He was even more intrigued with your aloof personality and at the fact that you had no interest in receiving any reward or compensation for saving his life. He at that moment decided that you must be some sort of lucky charm sent from the heavens to protect him. He took you back to Azuchi Castle with him and named you as the Oda princess. Mamabear was incredibly suspicious of you, of course, no shocker there given your cold, distant unapproachable exterior. It didn’t help that you slapped Nobunaga’s hand away after he tried to make an unwanted advance, causing mama bear to fume at you. Your patience was wearing thin with the man who now held a sword at your throat, threatening you. Luckily Nobungaga defused the situation before you could complexly loose your temper.
You work incredibly hard for the castle and its people, you took pride in your work, and it definitely showed. Even Nobunaga was impressed with the excellent work you were doing and has noticed that since your arrival things around the castle has been running much smoother. He summons you to his room to thank you and to give you the opportunity to *ahem* warm his bed. To which you just replied “No fucken chance in hell”. He narrowed his eyes and asked why not, to which you just answered, that you had only just met a week ago and that you weren’t that type of girl. Nobunaga was shook he had never been refused before, he also found your lack of filter genuinely amusing. The way you would just swear and just say whatever was on your mind.
You looked around his room and couldn’t help, but notice is vast collections of historical artefacts. Your eyes lit up in curiosity at all the fantastic pieces. Nobunaga couldn’t help but smile at his lil lucky charm who seems to have made herself at home in his room now looking at all his collection of art and trinkets. He would walk up behind you and explain the origin and backstory of each of the pieces. The two of you actually spent the whole night talking about history and different cultures. And that is when you accidentally let it slip that you were from the future. This definitely caught Nobunaga’s attention. At first, he didn’t believe you, but after you showed him the contents of your handbag, he was convinced.
You found yourself slowly but surely opening up to the man as time progressed. You nightly visits to drink tea in his room and chat for hours had become somewhat of a regular occurrence. Nobunaga absolutely loved the way your eyes lit up whenever you would talk about topics that interested you. He also loved how open-minded you were, listening and valuing his opinion. And you loved how open-minded he was, the two of you learned a lot from each other, through these regular tea dates.
Nobunaga had found out that you loved stageplays/musical so he would often find you randomly in the middle of the afternoon and drag you with him to one of his random nearby territories. He wouldn’t tell you where you were going, just simply put you onto of the horse and ride. He loved the way your eyes lit up as you neared the stage and figured out his plan. He would always reserve the best seat for the two of you and ensure that Masa had made the two of you the best snacks to munch on during the show. You count help but smile a bright, radiant smile at the sweet raven-haired man.
You looked over at him, devouring the sweets that Masamune had managed to sneak into the basket. Both of you loved these trips away cause it meant that the two of you could indulge in sweet sugary candies away from the watchful gaze of Mother dearest. After the show, the two of you would spend hours discussing it over even more sweets, at one of the nearby tea houses. Needless to say, the two of you had spent so much time together its no wonder that you were head over heel for each other.
Your relationship with the devil king started off a little rocky cause of your crazy awkwardness, but luckily Nobunaga actually found it really cute and lived for those moments when you would say or do something super awkward and turn a deep shade of red. For you see, this feared ruler is also a bit awkward and clumsy when it comes to love. For example, when he asked you to become his one and only queen, he did so in the cutest way possible. While the two of you were having tea after a show, he started to doodle a little picture on a napkin, at first the two of you were drawing the equivalent to memes and giving it to each other for a good laugh, but then he gave you something you never expected. A clumsy doodle of himself confessing his love for you, you couldn’t help but smile and kiss him right then and there. After all, you can go from fluffy to NSFW in 0,2 seconds, luckily the two of you kept things PG in the teahouse.
Nobunaga loved how diplomatic you were and after you told him about your dream of becoming a diplomat, he was right there by your side supporting you. You had found out about the conflict between him and Shingen and of course you just had to do something. You at this point had Nobunaga wrapped around your little finger, so when you requested that he share custody of the Kai with Shingen, he agreed as long as you act as diplomate between the two.
One day a powerful daimyo and his daughter came to visit. To say that you didn’t like the pair would be an understatement. The woman would constantly pine for Nobunaga’s affection and make your life a living hell. You couldn’t help but feel slightly jealous, sad and frustrated as since they came to visit you hadn’t seen Nobunaga at all. Of course, you bottled up all these emotions and put on a smile, pretending like everything was okay, but honestly, you were ready to bust. You reached your tipping point at the banquet. You hadn’t seen Nobunaga all week as he has been in and out of councils. You waled into the hall to see the woman all over Nobunaga. You went to take your seat beside Nobunaga like you had done for countless banquets and that’s when this woman made the rudest comment towards you “Um excuse me you filthy maid, the servants quarters are back there, and if you don’t leave Nobunaga and me alone I will have to call a guard over to escort you to the dungeons”. Honestly, you were shook, even if you were just a maid, that didn’t give her the right to act so rudely, just because she has some fake ass title. You slammed your fists on the table finally losing your temper and boy oh boy did the insults fly. TBH you even threw in a few insults from their home language, just to prove that you aren’t just some daft woman.
Needless to say, the woman was looking around to the fellow warlords to help her out of back her up, but they were all way to busy howling in laughter at their princesses foul language. Finally, the woman looked to your lover for aid. He simply chuckled and started to speak. “It seems there has been some misunderstanding as to who this woman beside me is” He looked down at the daimyo’s daughter giving her the cockiest grin. She was now looking at you with a devious smile, thinking that Nobu was about to summon you away.
“For those who do not know, I will make my intentions clear and known. This woman beside me is my dearest fireball, the love of my life, my equal and my queen, she is and will be the only woman in history fit to rule the world by my side.” He took your hand in his and gently tugged you to fall into his lap, he then kissed your temple and continued “To her, I give my heart, body and soul” He then pulled out a beautiful ring and asked, “Will you marry me, my dearest love”. To say the daimyo’s daughter was shook would be an understatement. You simply nodded, while wrapping your arms around your fiance’s neck to meet his lips in a passionate kiss.

Positive Side: When I read your description from start to finish, I just knew I was going to ship you with him. Your personalities definitely make a good balance in a sense, because just like you, he’s very soft spoken, gentle, very friendly and can be in tone with his emotions in a positive light. He also can be fiesty, dramatic and very funny which adds more excitement to both of your relationship. When people try to take advantage of your kindnesses or even tease you too much, Renjun would stand up for you in a heart beat grasping your shoulder clinging you close to him. Dates would be sooo entertaining because you both have similar interests and hobbies. You guys will do weekly art projects together as dates and exchange them as gifts for other to hang up in your rooms. Since he's learning more about cooking as he go, he would get guidance from hyung Doyoung to prepare your favorite dish along with any movie of your choice. Lastly, he’s a sucker for baby kittens and the both of you would adopt 3 from the shelter to name them Clover, Sparkle and Coco. Being with him can help you both learn to love and blossom into a more stronger, loveable and powerful couple.
Negative Side: Renjun can be a tab bit sensitive when it comes to being with you. Every once in awhile, we see Renjun reveal his emotional side to czennies which can make me ooo so soft most of the time, but that’s only because he knows how to pour his heart out into his dream job and your relationship. I have a feeling sometimes he can’t control his jealousy by making assumptions when a guy is flirting with you or even touching you. The guy wouldn’t even be able to make eye contact more than 10 seconds, that enough would start to irritate him. But...: After him pouting and ranting about the guy that was giving all over you, you gave him reassurance by taking him out for sushi and letting him stay the night at your place cuddling in your bed sharing hoodie as a blanket while watching anime. Renjun just loves giving his all to you and wanted to make sure that all the guys that would ever dare try to hit you up or hook up with you had to deal with facing your boyfriend and his fist. He can acting intense sometimes, but at the end of the day Renjun has the vocals and the personality of an angel and would never let anything bad happen to your relationship.

Positive Side: Personally, I feel like matching you with Doyoung made the most sense to me. He would love how hard you study and how you have those traits of a mom very gentle, kind, calm and very wise. I have this feeling that in order to be with Doyoung, you have to keep up with his level of intelligence in order to understand him and his humor. I feel like in that aspect, that’s where you both click so well as friends and lovers. When around the members, you love to help Doyoung cook dinner almost every night with him learning new recipes and having intimate time together. Doyoung has been really bold lately especially with czennies so I can imagine him trying to flirt with you by wrapping his arms around you helping you mix or drop the amount of ingredients needed in the bowl. Cafe dates with him every weekend too to help you study for your exams, he would know exactly what study tools worked best for you and reward you with a kiss if you got all the answers right. Only straight A’s or no kisses was his number 1 rule. Lastly, he would be so professional yet protective of you when dealing with rude people. For example, if a saesang tried to spam you with texts asking for Doyoung’s Instagram account info, this man would grab your phone and troll them by giving them fake info. He would professionally go off on haters if it meant he could protect you.
Negative Side: Sometimes Doyoung can say harsh petty things, but a lot of times he means it as a joke. This side of him was hard to understand at first because most of the time you couldn’t tell if he was joking or being serious. Those times would lead to you feeling hurt inside and made it hard for you to face him. Even the other members that saw this happening, would thump Doyoung in the forehead very hard to make him realize what he’s done.
But...: Doyoung cares about you too much to let you feel sad, because of him. He apologizes with tears almost in his eyes and he even insists on allowing you to hit him. Instead, you both just hold each other’s hands and agreed to learn how to understand each other even more. After awhile his jokes doesn’t phase you and you even snap back at him. The love starts to become stronger at that point.

Positive Side: As much as I know seventeen, Jun is still kind of hard to describe personality wise. He does fit your ideal type as far as someone who would look cool and cold, but is actually sweet and laidback. He has very unique charms, hes a hard worker and he’s very talented. I can tell you this though, your both very idealistic and daydreamers which works out perfectly, because you both can work together help achieving your goals. You can help him stay motivated to continue to perform with seventeen and he can encourage you to focus on school and finish strong. Being the food lovers you both are, he’ll travel with you to the best tasting restaurants from Korean bbq to rolled ice cream. Expect lots of drunken moments with Jun especially when he’s out with the members. He’s only a giggler when he’s drunk, but he’s also a cuddler. When schedules become too busy and he’s super tired, he’s a very homey person so he would love to watch movies, reading manga together and playing games with you eating chocolate chip cookies you both just baked the other night. Negative Side: Although both Gemini’s would seem like a disaster combination, it’s not as bad as you think. I think the only issue between you two would be the level of trust. In the beginning when you first moved in together, it was kind of hard to adjust living together, because he didn’t want you snooping into his things and you didn’t want him popping in your room whenever you were studying or changing. Those would lead to awkward conversations if you both ever broke those boundaries. The both of you at that point wouldn’t know how to recover from them awkward moments.
But...: After awhile, you both don’t seemed to be too bothered by it because you start to understand each other’s patterns and mood changes which is why you both can work easily together. It’ll tend to frustrate sometimes, but the both of you get over it and move on to the next thing. One minute your jokingly making fun of each other, the next minute you release that frustration out on each other through your make out sessions.

First of all: no it won’t be easy, but every relationship has some bumps in the road.
He would lowkey adore the girly style you have. He probably doesn’t really see it often with the people he’s surrounded by, so seeing you is like a breath of fresh air to him. It makes his day a little better.
I also think that he’d like your critical attitude, since he seems to be the same way. (I mean, he follows Stain’s ideals) He doesn’t really like people who blindly do whatever without properly thinking about it beforehand.
Your loyalty is another thing Dabi loves. I feel like you two wouldn’t be able to see or hang out with each other that much with his profession as well as his reputation, so the fact that you can handle that puts him at ease. However, at times he will still get insecure, wondering why you would choose a villain like him when there are people who can give you what you deserve.
Your patience…. He’s starting to think you are an actual angel, because I think Dabi may be hard to deal with at times. He does not open up about his private life easily, I mean barely anyone knows canon things about him, and it might get to a point where you actually lose your patience, but he still appreciates how you’re able to handle him for so long. He will also understand if you become fed up, but he won’t open up all of a sudden because of it,
Dabi will make fun of your clumsiness, but it secretly is something he likes. He secretly enjoys protecting you (if you are not in a life or death situation), so whenever he catches you when you almost trip, his heart will beat a tiny bit faster than usual.
Okay, your massages are truly a gift to him. There is no doubt in my mind that this man will be so so soo tense after a long day at work, and when he feels your hands doing their work it’ll put his mind at ease.
Part of him is glad that you aren’t very romantic, I can’t imagine Dabi really being super romantic. Maybe, if he found out his s/o was like that he would try, but it isn’t really in his nature. Of course he won’t be completely stoic, he’s just low key.
Dabi will have trouble with you bottling up your feelings. On one hand, he will probably do it as well so he can understand why you do it, but at the same time he does want you to be honest with him. At times he will get frustrated and if that’s the case he will make sure you know, but he also won’t force you to open up because he would hate that too.
He probably drinks and maybe smokes too? Idk. Will be chill about it if he doesn’t tho. It’s your life, he’s not gonna tell you what to do and what not to do. But, when it comes to your problems, he kind of wants you to tell him about them. Again he won’t force this either, but if he can tell something is off he will hug you, letting you know he’s always there for you without explicitly saying it (bc boi he hates doing that lol)
Dabi lives for your humour. He probably enjoys other people’s reactions to your jokes even more and it definitely brightens his day if he hasn’t been feeling well for a while.
His opinion on what you wanna do in the future can go two ways. Either A, he thinks it’s stupid, since often times places such as court rooms, police departments etc can be corrupted. On the other hand, he knows what kind of person you are and would know that you’d be able to do justice to so many people who need it and cannot handle trials by themselves.
I think Dabi can understand your fears and he probably has those too. That’s exactly why you can trust him. He isn’t the type to just start a relationship, so the fact that he’s with you says a lot.
100% Dabi is cuddly too but won’t admit that either. At times one of you two has to swallow their pride and initiate some physical affection, so that will definitely be interesting to say the least.
You get easily flustered? hah, you bet Dabi will purposefully throw compliments or remarks at you at any time, just to see that adorable reaction of yours every single time. Of course he will know the limits, might push a little too far sometimes but he will definitely stop, because his intention isn’t to actually upset you. Also, there is always truth behind his flirtatious remarks :)
Deep conversations with him won’t happen immediately, Dabi just is not like that. After getting through him however, he will open up and actually really enjoy those conversations. He sees it as a form of intimacy, and that’s why he treasures that even more.
Overall, your relationship with Dabi won’t be easy, but it’s definitely a very special one :D

But anyway, I have headcanons about each of the Batkids having certain tells that lead to Bruce getting them tested and trying out various medications, and like...how that would affect each of them. Because I project a lot of stuff along the lines of “had to develop own coping mechanisms to make the most of my uncooperative brain while growing up because my parents didn’t believe in stuff like ADHD and thought everything was just a matter of willpower and working/concentrating hard enough vs just being lazy.”
And thus I also project a lot of stuff along the lines of “getting an actual diagnosis and trying effective medication for the first time as a grown adult in my late twenties was literally life-changing as my brain suddenly was working in completely different ways that neatly avoided so many of the traps it’d been falling into my whole life whenever I tried to concentrate and would get super hard on myself for not being able to focus and having a deep-seated belief I was just innately lazy.”
So I like headcanoning all or most of the Batkids as ADHD because it allows me to explore various avenues and reactions all with the same characters and setting.
Like, I headcanon that when Dick was still only like eleven or twelve, and constantly having trouble fidgeting in class and not sitting still, one of his teachers recommended to Bruce that he consider getting him tested for ADHD. My thought is that Bruce would be resistant at first, because its okay for him not to be perfect and an inevitable result of being so damn good at everything he tries is the occasional insistence that everything worth knowing, he already knows.
So I picture that like, Bruce isn’t ignorant, he’s perfectly aware that things like ADHD exist and are valid, its just he has trouble at first reconciling that from an abstract awareness to something that directly applies to someone in his care, like Dick. Also, this would be at the early stages of their relationship, where I imagine Bruce is relying heavily on his perception of Dick being like him in so many ways in order to build connections with Dick, try and get in his head and understand him, etc....that Bruce unconsciously processes this as “well, when I was learning all these things it was just a matter of honing my mental discipline, and Dick is like me, therefor, this should be true of him as well.”
Plus, being Robin was far more important to Dick than school, it was his priority, so I imagine he invested most of his focus and attempts at developing his own techniques for getting the most out of his ADHD brain...on the times he was training with Bruce or at his side as Robin. So in Bruce’s eyes, based on his own interactions with Dick, he’d seen Dick focus and control himself and keep still with enough effort while Robin, when Bruce reminds him to and stresses the importance....so he thinks that’s further proof its just a matter of effort. Not realizing HOW MUCH effort its costing Dick to do that, and how much he’s beating himself up for having so much trouble with it. Not to mention, this is a large part of why he’s having SO MUCH trouble in class....because this is when he allows himself to relax his attempts at focusing so much, and it slips out all the more here.
I like to imagine its Selina who turned things around here.
Like, I can see Bruce letting some of his frustration about this and the teacher’s advice and Dick’s continuing problems with self-control out a little while its just he and Selina, venting in passing kind of a thing. Not expecting her to have advice or anything like that, but just one of those things where she’s content to let him just rant on about stuff and get it all out of his system and feel heard, because she’s there nodding along even though it has fuck all to do with her and he doesn’t need to know that she mostly just thinks he’s so cute when he’s like this and it doesn’t hurt that he always feels he owes her afterwards to thank her for listening.
Look, she’s not a saint, okay.
Only this time she interjects and asks bluntly, as she does all things she actually cares about and doesn’t have the time or patience to dance around and make performance art out of: “Bruce, have you spent any time at all considering that there might be something to his teacher’s suggestion?”
He hesitates, thrown by her unexpected interjection, as it isn’t the norm for this kind of scene between them. She takes that as answer enough.
“Bruce, darling, apple of mine eye for as long as it continues to amuse me to view you as such - “
“Ego is sufficiently checked, thanks. You can move it along now,” Bruce says wryly.
She flashes him a quick grin of acknowledgment but then sobers, uncharacteristically serious.
“I’m not sure it is, and I think that’s the problem. You’ve done a good job with Dick so far and changed far more than I think anyone expected and in quite a short time as well. But one thing I don’t think you’ve totally grasped yet is this: You don’t get to be right all the time, anymore. Your perfect streak is over.”
“What’s that supposed to mean?”
“You’re not graceful in defeat, and you can’t abide appearing clumsy when you don’t have a champagne flute in one hand. So you generally just choose to not accept defeat. Which is fine for a superhero, and oddly endearing in ways I’ve never quite managed to put my pinkie on. But when it was just you on the line, putting your head down and willfully charging onward rather than submit to a wound of pride....you were only risking yourself. You have to admit you’ve garnished yourself with more than one unnecessary beating as you’d rather take a blow to the abdomen than one to the ego. At least when I’m not around to kiss it better afterwards.”
She lightens her words with a little bit of levity at the end there, though Bruce’s lips still pucker sourly. The downside of being attracted to someone who can see right through you is sometimes they see right through you, he supposes.
Damn Catch-22′s.
“But its not just you on the line anymore, when you simply don’t care to admit there are mysteries that elude even the Great Detective, or clues that sometimes are apparent to others before they unveil themselves to you. If you’d rather double as a punching bag than concede intellectual defeat to a foe, that’s all well and good. But you don’t get to volunteer Dick up there alongside you.”
He’s silent, pondering her words.
“Get him tested, Bruce,” she presses gently, but without minding her claws. “If he turns out not to have it, you’ve wasted a full two hours. If he does, you’ve done right by him, and that should be more than enough to see your ego through taking the hit.”
“Alright,” he concedes. “You’ve made your point.”
She smiles, brown eyes back to dancing in their usual merriment. “Damn a girl with faint praise, why don’t you. And here I thought I’d made several.”
“I’m just trying to return the favor in kind,” Bruce rumbles with a quirk of his lips. “Wouldn’t do to have your ego balloon out of control the second I manage to shrink mine. Where would that leave us?”
“Oh ye of little faith,” she chides with a smirk, stretching luxuriously on the couch. “I think we could make it work. Where’s your experimental spirit? I thought men of your intellect worship at the altar of the Scientific Method.”
He laughs and shakes his head, too fond to try and further their little game of one-upsmanship. “You were wrong about one thing. You broke my winning streak a long time ago. You just seem to have a talent for making me forget that, just in time for you to do it all over again.”
“Mmmm,” she hums, the faint sound and a minute twitching of her lips somehow managing to pack a wealth of amusement into them both. “What can I say, darling? I’m the cat’s meow.”

A quick update of health and heartsyhawk

I have been pretty withdrawn lately because I've had some health stuff going on. Not anywhere near bad enough that I'd say I'm dying, but severe enough and chronic enough that I start each day with about 20% of the energy I used to have and spend half that coughing. And managing pain and compensating for the physical ability loss from that stupid injury a while back. So...I'm exhausted a lot.
A lot of people have waxed poetic about how browsing Tumblr and reblogging things are a way different energy commitment than say interacting with people or responding to messages and it's absolutely frustratingly true. Sometimes it's all I have me to mindlessly scroll (and this site is so much less of a hellpit than Twitter and doesn't have my family on it) and like or reblog posts.
It's frustrating that I write so slow now and there's an actual layer of dust on my art tablet. I can't watch TV or movies that need focus and thought without it being a "difficult" task some days. I haven't actually played a videogame that wasn't a mobile phone one in months. Literally the last thing I did was play Inquisition for like half an hour just doing random things in the Hinterlands. I miss doing all those things.
I miss reading the most. I used to be able to clear an entire Harry Potter book in a day. Today I managed to read an article about ten ways to poach an egg. It was the first thing longer than a tweet I've had energy to actually read in a couple weeks.
Which brings me to the main point I'm writing this for.
I am super super behind on just about every fic in every fandom I am in right now. I have over a couple thousand emails unread right now, and literally several hundred of those are from AO3 and fanfiction.net with updates to fic I want to read but haven't been able to. To be fair some of them were in my spam folder because periodically my email goes !oh this looks suspicious I'ma hide it! for AO3, but a lot has built up on me because chronic illness and exhaustion does not leave me much to work with, especially considering that I *need* to do basic dailies like hygiene and food which aren't optional but take a lot more than you typically assume. (When you have five hundred energy points something that takes 8 or 3 is nothing but if you have like 12 to start with cooking dinner or shampooing your hair is a much bigger deal...)
The good news is September and Early October are always my busiest times of a year and we're finally to the point where I can stop pushing myself so far beyond my (still relatively new) physical limits every week. My ultimate hope is that I can get more caught up on the things I have not been able to prioritize energy to for a little while, specifically in TV and fic, and I plan to start building my focus for reading (and ideally writing more than a couple paragraphs a day) back up and chipping away at the fic folder in my email inbox. It will definitely be a whole project, but worth it, I think.
I just wanna say thanks for your patience and understanding while I'm adjusting to what is likely my long term new normal. Know that when I see the updates to stories I love and TV shows and books I'd normally be all over I'm happy to see you guys posting it and looking forward to it, even if it takes a while to actually have the energy for whatever it is. :)

Oh, don’t get him wrong, he loves it so much, since he feels so warm and fuzzy inside when you stand on your toes, wrapping your arms around his neck and start to kiss around his face, always suckling a little at his jaw. He’s more concerned for you, since he’s worried you’ll catch him in a particularly lustful mood one day and he won’t be able to stop himself from just ravishing you.
“Babe, you know how much I love your kisses… but you must be careful. I may not be able to hold back.”
You chuckle as you press a couple kisses to his forehead and he lets out a deep moan, his hands roaming up and down your sides. “Who says I want you to hold back?”

The first time you do it is when you guys meet at the RFA party, and at first, Jaehee is really embarrassed because for one, she knows her face is probably beat red, and two, she was not expecting it.
But when you pull back after kissing around her face, a large beam decorated your features, she can’t help but smile back, and from that moment on she loves the kisses you spread across her face on a daily basis.
It makes her feel loved and wanted, something for a long time she didn’t really feel. But with you, when your cuddling her or just holding her as she brews the coffee at the shop, and you just start to kiss her face, she feels truly alive and truly happy.
She likes to be resting on the couch reading a book with a cup of coffee, and you’ll just crawl on top of her to start pressing kisses across her face.
She’ll giggle sometimes, and tell you that it tickles, but never would she want you to stop. She enjoys receiving the kisses as much as you enjoy giving them.

At first, he was confused as to why you were the one that was kissing all around his face, and he was not doing it to you, since he thought it was his job in the relationship to be showing you such affections. You laughed lightheartedly, taking his hand as you stood on your toes to kiss his nose, cheek, chin, and you said softly, “I do it because I love you, Jumin. I can show you affection too.”
Jumin likes to kick back on the couch after a long day of business deals and dealing with incompetent workers, and just open his arms and have you bounce on top of him, giggling as he pulls you down so you can kiss around his face.
Your lips are so soft and warm on his skin. Sometimes he’ll cup the back of your head and hold you down so your lips can remain on his head.
Speaking of which, your kisses are the best remedies for curing his headaches from work. If he ever comes home with a headache, or maybe it just ‘pops up’ somehow, you’ll sit in his lap and hold his face in your hands, and kiss around his forehead before letting your lips move across his face, kissing every inch you can find, then stopping at his lips.
Jumin love your kisses very much, and will never stop you from kissing him, however, he has a rule that you cannot kiss him while he’s at work or in public. He gives you two reasons for this rule; one, he doesn’t want people to try and take you away from him if they see just how affectionate and wonderful you are. And two, it can be a little embarrassing.
But trust me, when you guys are back at the penthouse, all he wants is you kissing him all over~ so don’t stop!
☺ Seven/Saeyoung ☺
Honestly, Seven does the same thing with you; He loves to kiss around your face just as much as you love to kiss around his face.
It practically becomes a battle of who can give the other as many kisses on each others faces. It always starts with you pouncing on top of him either when he is working or if he’s lounging around in bed or on the couch. You’ll just pin him down and start kissing his cheeks, then forehead, then the tip of his nose.
He’ll then grab your waist and flip you over, tickling your sides a bit before bending down to kiss around your face, starting with your forehead, nose, chin, jaw, cheeks, everywhere. And his kisses are much more sloppier, though it’s done on purpose.
These ‘battles’ annoy Saeran and Vanderwood to no wits end because they somehow can never avoid the slurpy sounds of the kisses and seeing one or the other on top of each other. “Can’t you guys do this in private?” Saeran will snap. “No one wants to see this!!”
Neither of you really care though, because you both love to do it so much.
In all seriousness, Seven always gets a warm feeling in his stomach when you start to kiss his face. It makes him want to hold onto you and never let you go, not even for a second. He never wants you to stop kissing him, and he never wants to stop feeling the warmth of your lips against his skin.

This poor baby too has never really experienced such affections. Rika certainly was never this forward and adoring with him; she always expected him to be the one to show affection to her. So when you first kiss around his face, showing special attention to every feature, he doesn’t know how to feel.
He wants to cry but also wants to just hug you and spin you around at the same time. He’ll hold you and support you on your toes as you kiss him, and he will never want to let you go.
V has never considered himself to be someone who craved something easily, however, as kisses to his face become a regular thing, he really does find himself craving your kisses constantly, and he craves the feeling of your lips on his forehead or cheek.
It’s always great when he is painting or drawing, and you’ll just wrap your arms around him and take the chance to kiss around his face while whispering words of love to him. “That is such a beautiful painting, darling. I’m so proud of you!~”
He thinks you always kissing around his face is really adorable and sweet, and something that shows a true uniqueness in your character; this adoring side of you shows something childlike but very mature too, and he really admires that.
V uses art to show you have grateful he is for the love and affection you give him, by painting a picture of a rose where two petals are faces kissing each other. He’ll always be thankful for the love you show him, whether it’s through kisses to his face or something more.

Your lips are so soft against his skin, and it’s such a comforting feeling when you press your lips against his cheek, jaw, forehead, nose, chin.
He loves that whenever you guys are cuddling, you’ll cage him with your arms and lean upwards, and start to press numerous amounts of kisses on his face until he starts giggling, and he finds himself grabbing you and flipping on top of you so he can do the same.
He has a vivid of memory of being at Mint Eye, and you were so happy when he came bearing breakfast that once you took the meal from his hands, you wrapped your arms around him and began to spread kisses all across his face. He was so frustrated and confused at the sudden affection, he had fallen on the bed pulling you on top of him.
“I-I’m sorry, Ray. Did you not like it? I promise I won’t do it again if it makes-”
“No,” he cut you off, his face redder than the roses he’s accustomed to giving you. “No, I liked it. I just… I just never expected it.”
You use your love for kissing his face to help him destress too, and not only just to show him you love him.
Saeran can still have nightmares or “flashbacks” of the trauma from Mint Eye and his childhood, and when he wakes up in a little bit of a frenzy, it’s your gentle kisses that soothe him.
He loves that when he’s cooking dinner, though you are interrupting his groove stirring mash potatoes, you’ll move in front of him to hug him, resting your head against his chest for a bit before peaking up to start kissing along the edges of his face. “You’re troublesome, flower,” he says, grinning as he stirs the food in the pot with his arms around you. “Don’t be too upset if that food comes out bad because I’m distracted by your kisses.”

Sorry I've been so inactive
I've been super busy with school and work lately. I know I'm usually better about posting at least some content, but I have been just,,,, barely functional. The least busy day of my weekend, I drove over fifty miles.
I'm getting my required work done, but that's all I'm getting done. It's really frustrating, cause I'll get these creative bursts and WANT to work, but I'm either busy or just,,,, so tired. I really wanted to do ink- or whumptober or maybe both, but, that's not looking feasible. (I do have some plans for NaNo, but I can't make any promises that will get done either cause I'm a mess.)
I'm hoping I can smooth out my schedule in the near future and have proper free time again, instead of just time where I'm unable to sleep but too tired to work.
Thanks to those of y'all that have stuck around. I hate being a part of the ghost town this community is becoming, but it shouldn't be a permanent thing. Ideally, after midterms, I'll have smoothed out my life a little.
I'm definitely still accepting prompts, I just can't promise a timely response. (If they're art prompts, I might be able to crank something out, but writing,,,, less likely)

“Man, I’m exhausted,” Judar complained, raising his arms into the air and stretching his back. The cushions on his back let him lean back easily, supporting his body which felt tired after consuming half a bottle of liquor. From the glass in his hand, a few drops of the pinkish peach drink falling from its brim, dirtying the white bed sheets. Not that he minded it at all, this late in the morning, servants would change them anyway. Yawning, he reached over to Kenmei, driving his fingers through her black hair. The girl laid face down in the pillows, nudging her head upwards slightly against his hand as she felt his touch. “You don’t have any right to complain,” she mumbled, the pillow making her voice even more muffled as it already was. “You just disappeared when all the people came to talk to you, leaving me all alone with their questions.”
There was a hint of frustration resonating in the tone she gave him, though it only made him grin. “I didn’t want to deal with them.” Judar took his hand back, leaned it over to the side table and poured himself another drink. For a second he thought about filling Kenmei’s glass too, but since it stood on the other side of the bed and her ears already had a deep red color, he decided not to. “And I mean, it was way more fun to watch you storm into this room and tearing up when you saw me.” His side was hit with one of the smaller pillows, as Kenmei prompted herself up on her arms, giving him an angry look. “That’s because you had the nerve to just sit here and drink!” Letting out an audible breath, Judar just shrugged, downing his glass thoughtfully. “You’re so unfair…” she whined, tilting her head to the side and away from him, staring outside through the window at the night sky.

Maybe, so he thought, it really wasn’t quite fair. Maybe Kenmei had a point. Perhaps he shouldn’t have done it. But at that moment? He thought it was better to get away before any of the stupid questions dared to bother his incredible mind. Judar didn’t think of consequences for his partner. Truthfully, she’d have to speak for him too, but she managed that just fine, maybe even better than him. In any case, there she was again, sulking. Peeking over the glass rim, he gazed at his partner, who was sighing into her pillow. Most of her red garments she had already kicked off, as he could see some of the fabric laying around on the bedroom floor. However, she seemed comfortable enough in the rest that still covered her body, softly tending to her skin and hiding it away from anyone’s eyes.
Judar knew she had put a lot of effort to look flawless today. After all, he had asked her to come with him to this very formal meeting. She would have spent even more hours in the bathroom if not for Judar shooing her away so he could get ready too. By now, even he was sure that it was pretty awful of him to leave her there alone. She had anticipated the festivity so much. Done her hair, put on make-up, only to later say it was nothing at all. But even though he knew how anxious she had been, he had still left her all alone, like an idiot. Not that he regretted it, but he pitied her a small tad. It’s the alcohol speaking, he told himself, slowly circling his glass in his hand and making the contents swirl around. Swiftly switching the glass from his right hand into his left, he reached out again, taking some strands of her hair closer to him and letting them run through his fingers, twirling and twisting around. For a second she pulled up her feet, alternating in letting them bump into the mattress again and making him smirk. Obviously, Kenmei enjoyed his attention and Judar? Judar simply enjoyed her presence.

“Judar!” He heard her voice from behind, as she approached quickly. The magi flopped down, feeling both exhausted from his recent magical output and from having to deal with a huge amount of enemies. Their bodies were strewn all over the battlefield, and the view wasn’t as pretty as he’d like it to be. However, even though she gasped at the sight that unfolded in front of her once she reached him, the worry in her eyes as she looked at him saved him from the grim reminder that the battlefield was. “I’m so glad I found you,” she said, letting some of the tension out of her body, as she took a deep breath and clutched her chest. “You’re wounded…” she noted, kneeling down beside him. Almost immediately when she reached out her hand towards him, a cool, calming force field erected, the rukh working hard to heal him. He knew she was troubled, but for the moment she held herself together, prioritizing him and the few slashes he had to endure. She would have overseen anything if it was for his sake, Judar believed.
There was a short moment of silence, the healing progressing towards the end, before she mumbled, “You did it, Judar.” He only grimaced at her, replying in an frustrated tone, “Of course I did. What did you expect? I took them all out, one after another!” Judar made a small pause between his sentences, leaning back as the healing magic did its deed. Even after all the time he knew her, nothing ever got to him like her healing. Even though the water magic made it a rather cold procedure, it was filled with her feelings. Almost a weird feeling, being able to heal with a cold magic, that was always warm and comforting to him. His gaze went over the countless dead bodies, then to his lover. Her face was stern, she was concentrated. Kenmei was concentrating on healing him and not being disturbed by the countless dead bodies before her. “Nobody else could have…” he started, ending mid-sentence, noticing how her countenance grew dark and she bit her lower lip, as his voice reached her. Nobody else could have killed them like I did, was what he had wanted to say. But he didn’t. Not in front of her. Not as long as she bore being with him.

The pale blue field slowly dissolved, leaving him back at the fresh air. Kenmei took a deep breath, wiping some sweat pearls off her forehead before she looked at him again. “How are you feeling?” she asked, her body tense again after working on healing him. “Good,” he said, indifferent on how he was supposed to feel after all this. Judar couldn’t look back at her, fearing she’d ask more unnecessary questions that he didn’t feel like answering in that moment. From her kneeled position, she slowly flopped backwards, landing on her butt with a small thud. “Okay…” she said, slowly adding, “I was worried.” Judar snorted, doing that to emphasize how she never trusted in him. “You’re so dumb, Kenmei. I am the greatest magician alive, why would I have any troubles with some small fries?” She only let out a sigh at his comment, looking at the dusty, brown ground that was between them. His brows furrowed, as he studied her face and poked one finger into her cheek, trying to get an reaction from her. She brushed his hand off, a harsh movement that didn’t quite fit his image of her.
“Are you pouting?” he asked, expecting an answer with big eyes. Maybe that comment was too harsh, he thought to himself. Kenmei had a tendency to pout over how abrasive he could be when in reality he didn’t always mean it as such a hurtful comment as she made it out to be. The moment of silence that followed from her tore at his patience, and Judar felt himself getting frustrated. Helping himself up from the ground, he took some steps around her, leaving her behind. “Still, you could have been seriously injured…” Crossing his arms behind his head, he waited for something more to come, but there was nothing. True, he thought.
Next thing he knew, her hand was tugging on the fabric of his pants. “Let's go home…” she mumbled, starting to walk. He loosened his arms from the stretching motion, to which she immediately reached out, grasping for his hand. He didn’t take it from her, as the two started to make their way back home, hand in hand.

The tree he was sitting in, was in full bloom. The green leaves swayed in the summer breeze, and it put Judar in a good mood. At his side was Kenmei, peeling away the skin of a rosy peach, trying to prepare it for him. The fruit juice ran down her hand and arm, some of it dripping onto her clothes. “I have an awful boyfriend,” she complained, a soft smile resting on her lips, while her eyes focused on the peach in her left and the knife in her right hand. “He always lets me do everything for him! Like a child, he can do nothing for himself!” There was a teasing undertone in her voice, and Judar replied by sticking out his tongue at her for a moment. Kenmei must have known what he was doing, without having to look up, as she gave a short laugh back, carefully peeling the fruit in her hands.
“You can admit it, you like doing all these things for me,” he spoke, haughty and with a wide grin on his lips. She carefully slit her knife into the peach, cutting out a piece of it and reaching it up to her mouth, before looking at him. “Me? Doing something for you? Never!” And with that she swallowed the fruit, making him gasp at her for acting so harshly. “You little! How dare you eat that!” Judar leaned forward, reaching his hands out for her, as Kenmei quickly held her arms to the other side, far away from him. “Judar, careful! The knife!” The two of them jostled a little, Judar determined to get his peach, while Kenmei felt herself slowly losing her seat on the branch. Letting go of the two items in her hand, she tried to steady herself by holding on to the arm of the tree, fearing to fall down, but Judar reacted faster. He quickly put his arms around her torso and pulled her back to himself against the trunk. For a moment they remained like this, before breathing out simultaneously. The small shock escaped their bones and their bodies relaxed.
“Thank you…” Kenmei mumbled, staring at the fruit and silver knife, which was shining through the grass on the ground. “Whatever…” he replied, but his actions were clearer than his words. Pulling her even closer against his chest, he hid his face in her hair, making her ask, “Judar? You okay?” He didn’t reply. All he did was take in her scent and warmth. He could feel her body moving in his embrace and hear her steady breathing, calming him too. For a moment his heart had really sunken into his gut, when he saw her struggling to hold her balance. She was so clumsy but really, it had been his fault that she got in trouble in the first place. Maybe she was a klutz, but he should have known better and protected her. What an awful boyfriend she has indeed, he thought.
It was then that he felt her hand slowly reaching for his shoulder, caressing him softly as if to tell him everything okay. She’d always say that to him. He believed it for once.

He was an awful boyfriend.
He gave her nothing but troubles and never apologized or appreciated her efforts.
Even if she didn’t fall down that tree that day, she always ended up at point zero when she was with him. No matter if it was on the battlefield that she hated, but couldn’t bear to let him go alone to, as she was way to afraid of losing him, or a formal event that he really didn’t want to go, but that she took super serious, only to get disappointed by him again in the end.
And yet she always returned to him. He always found her smiling stupidly and acting like an idiot when she saw him. And she always scolded him, even though he never listened to one word she said. She got angry, sad, frustrated and wrecked whenever she was with him, having to push her boundaries and comfort away constantly. Judar never did her any good.
But she was always there nevertheless. Next to him.

30 Best Nintendo Switch Games

After four years of the Wii U, we were eagerly anticipating its successor. While there were plenty of great games on the doomed platform, the Wii U just never caught fire with the public at large. But four years into the Switch’s lifespan, and Nintendo has turned things around dramatically.
Instead of winding things down, the Switch shows no signs of slowing down, with plenty of excellent third party games in its library, as well as more than a few innovative titles from the Big N as well. The platform has also been a great way to bring underrated Wii U gems to a broader audience of Switch adopters. With a rumored 4K upgrade on the horizon, there’s a good chance that the Switch may even have another four years ahead of it,
But for now, these are the very best games available for the portable-console hybrid:
30. Untitled Goose Game
2019 | House House
Anyone who’s even been to a pond can attest to one simple fact: Geese are dicks. Untitled Goose Game lets you finally live out the fantasy of being one of nature’s most annoying creatures, flapping, honking, and generally being a nuisance to the residents of a fair English town. The only thing missing is the goose poop covering everything in sight.
Untitled Goose Game is a short but sweet experience inspired by classic stealth games that adds just enough charm and innovation to make it one of the best indie games on the platform.
29. Dark Souls Remastered

There’s not much more that can be said about Dark Souls that hasn’t been said about this revolutionary action RPG title already. Its tough-as-nails difficulty, foreboding atmosphere, and esoteric storytelling have made it a fan-favorite and critical darling.
The Switch port doesn’t change much. It’s actually a visual downgrade from the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions without the benefit of 4K resolution, but being able to play Dark Souls on-the-go more than makes up for that. This may not be the best version of Dark Souls, but the gameplay still stands up, and like a lot of Switch ports, being able to finally play the game on a handheld makes it a worthy pick up.
28. Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle

“What if Mario starred in an XCOM game?” might sound like the basis for some very ambitious fan fiction, but somehow Ubisoft pulled it off with Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle. The Rabbids actually fit into the Mushroom Kingdom pretty well and the Rabbid impersonations of Mario and company are hilarious.
Even if Mario games aren’t typically your cup of tea, the tactics featured in this turn-based strategy title add a layer of difficulty rarely seen in the plumber’s resume. If you aren’t careful, the corrupted Rabbids will repeatedly hand you your ass on a platter.
27. Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker
2018 | Nintendo
The Captain Toad levels were the best parts of Super Mario 3D World, one of the few well-reviewed Wii U exclusives that haven’t yet made it to the Switch. Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker delivered more of what people loved, this time for the 3DS.
Ignoring traditional Mario-style platforming for isometric puzzles that bar jumping, getting all the stars in every level of Captain Toad is genuinely challenging but rarely frustrating. Captain Toad also stands out as one of the better Wii U ports for the Switch, thanks to a number of new levels, although many of them are only available as paid DLC.
26. Starlink: Battle for Atlas
2018 | Ubisoft
Starlink: Battle for Atlas is a fun space shooter bogged down by a confusing and frankly unnecessary toys-to-life gimmick. The basic premise equates to a sort of smaller scale No Man’s Sky, but with highly customizable ships and weapons.
The big draw for the Switch version is exclusive Star Fox content, missions that feel like the animal-themed space combat game people have wanted from Nintendo for years. They’re certainly better than Star Fox Zero. The retail version even comes with awesome Arwing and Fox McCloud toys.
With gamers largely burned out on the toys-to-life phenomenon, Starlink didn’t exactly light up the sales charts, but it did sell best on the Switch and is scratching that Star Fox itch.
25. Hollow Knight
2018 | Team Cherry
Nintendo basically created the Metroidvania genre, but the company has been remarkably stingy about releasing new 2D Metroid games. Thankfully, Hollow Knight is here to fill the void with its insect-filled underground world. While there have been many takes on the Metroidvania formula over the years, a Tim Burton-esque aesthetic gives Hollow Knight a unique edge over the rest of the field.
Of course, Metroidvanias are only as strong as their maps, and Hollow Knight’s giant, secret-filled levels are easy to get lost in for hours. And then there’s the Dark Souls-inspired combat, which requires both patience and skill to master. We can’t wait for the sequel.
24. Xenoblade Chronicles 2

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is not for casual gamers. The main story alone takes more than 60 hours to complete and you’re looking at well over 100 hours of gameplay if you dig into the side content. Its systems, particularly the Pokemon-style Blade system, aren’t very user-friendly and require time to truly understand. But for those who are willing to keep with it, or who enjoy complex stories and mastering all the intricacies of a JRPG, there are few games of this caliber available on the current crop of consoles. And none of them are on the Switch.
23. The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening

The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening is arguably the very best game for the original Game Boy, held back only by the portable’s lack of buttons and color. The Switch-exclusive remake easily rectifies those issues, and improves on this classic with so much more, including customizable dungeons and a delightful new art style inspired by children’s toys.
The core Link’s Awakening experience remains as enjoyable as it first was back in 1993, with the deceptively small Koholint Island giving way to nine labyrinthine dungeons and some of the best puzzles in the entire series. This is a great example of a remake done right.
22. Stardew Valley
2017 | ConcernedApe
There’s something oddly relaxing about farming games that Stardew Valley taps into better than any other game in the niche genre. Maybe it’s the especially calming music, the charmingly well-written characters, or just being able to live out your agricultural dreams at your own pace. Whatever the exact reason, Stardew Valley has garnered millions of fans since its original release.
Part of the appeal is the regular updates. Just when you think you’ve seen everything, ConcernedApe will add new content to keep the game fresh. And while Stardew Valley is a fantastic experience on any of the numerous platforms it’s currently available on, being able to play it anywhere on the Switch arguably makes it the definitive version.
21. New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe

The Switch’s success has allowed many Wii U games to enjoy a second life. With their brief levels, Mario games have always been perfect for handhelds, and with its pitch-perfect controls and heavy nods to Super Mario Bros. 3, New Super Mario Bros. U is arguably the best side-scrolling Mario game of the last decade. The Switch port even includes all of the New Super Luigi U content previously only available as DLC and a new playable character, Toadette.
20. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
2017 | Bethesda Game Studios
We probably didn’t need another version of Skyrim, and the Switch port doesn’t look that much better than the original 2011 release, but as with other ports of older games, the ability to play one of the greatest RPGs anywhere is a good reason to double (or triple) dip. And there are a few cool unlockables though amiibos, like the Master Sword.
It’s impossible to ignore such a classic RPG on the Switch, especially now that you can play it on your lunch break or on the bus. But seriously, Bethesda, you can stop porting Skyrim now. Get to work on The Elder Scrolls VI and maybe bring that to the Switch.
19. Pokemon Let’s Go, Pikachu/Eevee

The Pokemon franchise has been around so long at this point that the Let��s Go games are actually the second remakes of the original 1996 Red and Blue games. That’s okay though, as even the last remakes were released on the Game Boy Advance in 2004. By 2018, it was time for a new coat of paint.
Let’s Go freshens things up with modern 3D graphics, wild Pokemon that are now visible in the overworld, and Mega Evolutions from more recent games. The biggest change is the most divisive: motion controls for catching Pokemon. It can be a little silly at first, but it actually adds to the game’s charm.
18. Luigi’s Mansion 3
2019 | Nintendo
Luigi has long played second fiddle to his more famous brother, but after three spooky solo games, he’s built up a successful franchise in its own right that ranks up there among Nintendo’s best. If the previous Luigi’s Mansion games had a flaw, it’s that they got a little repetitive. Luigi’s Mansion 3 thankfully fixes that problem with a massive 17-story hotel with plenty of puzzles to solve and ghosts to trap. And while Luigi’s Mansion 3 is a fantastic single player experience, what really gives it legs is its co-operative modes for 2-8 players, making it the best ghostbusting game since, well…Ghostbusters.
17. Octopath Traveler

Square Enix’s love letter to 16-bit RPGs might just be better than the classics. Octopath Traveler boasts an innovative battle system that tweaks the typical turn-based formula and unique “HD-2D” graphics that are unlike anything else in the genre. It’s easy to lose several hours playing in portable mode or at home on a big screen. And while the story drags a little bit at times, it’s still worth playing to the end to see how the tales of all eight protagonists play out.
16. Astral Chain
2019 | PlatinumGames
PlatinumGames’ streak of creating the best and most unique action games in the industry continues with Astral Chain. Everything that has made the developer’s past titles like Bayonetta and Nier: Automata instant classics is on full display here, from the massive set pieces to the bonkers anime-inspired story of humanity making its last stand against an interdimensional threat.
And while you’d think those previous efforts pushed combat in an action game to its limits, Astral Chain’s innovative gameplay finds way to introduce new twists to the Platinum secret sauce. Here, you control both your main character and a fully customizable tethered Legion to maximize combos. This is the perfect game to tie you over until Platinum finishes up Bayonetta 3.
15. Bayonetta 2

The first Bayonetta was a sexy, stylish take on action-adventure hack and slash games, with some of the smoothest combat around and a badass protagonist. Bayonetta 2 doesn’t mess with the winning formula but adds more combat options and some of the most ridiculous setpieces ever put in a game, like a battle on top of a moving fighter jet. If you’re looking for something a little less family-friendly on the Switch, look no further than this hectic action game.
14. Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze

The original Donkey Kong Country trilogy is a highlight of the 16-bit era, but in hindsight, it was more beloved for its graphics than its gameplay. It was only once Retro Studios took over the series that the franchise began to live up to its potential, with super smooth platforming and levels more creative than even some of Nintendo’s Super Mario games.
While Retro’s first Donkey Kong Country game on the Wii was a little too punishing, Tropical Freeze got the balance between challenging and frustrating just right. The game was originally released on the Wii U, and the Switch port adds Funky Kong as a playable character. This is an excellent platformer to play with a friend, too!
13. Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury

Super Mario 3D World is a top-notch Mario game, so it was always a shame that it released on a platform as underwhelming as the Wii U. The genius of the game is how it so perfectly combines the best elements of 2D and 3D Mario games. Levels have clear beginnings and endings, and ultimately you just need to climb the flag pole at the goal, but there’s also plenty of room for exploration to track down every last green star. Plus, the cat suit is one of the weirdest and best power-ups in any Mario game.
Everything that made the original Wii U release a must-have remains the highlight of the Switch port, but the addition of Bowser’s Fury, a new adventure where Mario and Bowser Jr. must quickly complete missions before the arrival of a giant, enraged Bowser, makes this one well worth a double dip.
12. Pokemon Sword and Shield

Sword and Shield may not be the best games in the long-running Pokemon series. Arguably, the lack of some older Pokemon (even after two big expansions) is a pretty big mark against it, but the eighth generation still has a lot going for it thanks to more streamlined gameplay, a massive open-world, and the fact this is the first time a mainline Pokemon game can be played on a home console. That’s something that fans have been clamoring for since the series’ inception back in 1996.
So no, you can’t quite “catch ‘em all,” but you can still have a great time battling the gym leaders of Galar in the seemingly never-ending quest to become the very best.
11. Sid Meier’s Civilization VI
2018 | Firaxis Games
Despite the Switch’s early success, it’s still home to relatively few third-party console exclusives, but Civilization VI alone almost makes up for that deficit. This is an uncompromising PC port with 24 different civilizations available from the get-go, and all of the features from the original version. It also works great with either a controller or touchscreen controls. If you’re looking for a 4X strategy game on the Switch, Civilization VI is the one.
10. Diablo III: Eternal Collection
2018 | Blizzard Entertainment
Diablo III is one of the best games of the last decade. The Switch port is late to the party, but if you really want to slay demons on the go and don’t have a laptop handy, this is the perfect way to play the classic action RPG.
The Switch version adds a handful of Legend of Zelda items, including a Ganondorf costume. It’s not an earth-shattering exclusive, but it’s an easy excuse to sink a few more hours into this game.
9. Fire Emblem: Three Houses
2019 | Nintendo
Nintendo is still mostly known for accessible games that appeal to a wider audience. But then there’s Fire Emblem, a series of hardcore tactical RPGs where every battle can mean permanent death for you and your allies. While still true to its roots, Three Houses takes some liberties with the typical Fire Emblem gameplay. There are still plenty of battles to be fought, but the first half of the game largely takes place at a monastery where you’re a teacher preparing your students for war. And the long-used “weapon triangle” has mostly been replaced with the need to equip the best weapons for each character, adding a new layer of strategy.
As if all that didn’t make for dozens of hours of gameplay, the ability to choose which of the titular three houses you belong to has radically different consequences for the game’s story. It takes a very long time to experience everything that Three Houses has to offer.
8. Super Mario Maker 2

Super Mario Maker 2 is the definitive Mario game, building on its already near-perfect predecessor with new power ups, a world maker, and assets from Super Mario 3D World. The star of the show is the almost endless supply of user created levels that constantly surprise with twists on other genres and some of the most fiendishly difficult levels ever devised. And if you’re the creative type, the course maker remains one of the most intuitive modes in any game, allowing you to design perfectly playable new levels in just a few minutes.
Even if making Mario levels isn’t you’re thing, Super Mario Maker 2 includes a surprisingly fun story mode of 100 original levels that stand toe-to-toe with anything else in the legendary franchise.
7. Hades
2020 | Supergiant Games
Rarely do story, gameplay, and atmosphere mesh together as well as they do in the rogue-lite Hades. You play as Zagreus, the prince of the Underworld, with the simple goal of escaping from the monotonous life you’re forced to lead under your apathetic father. You’ll die a lot during this quest, but each time you’ll get a little stronger and gain new abilities from the gods of Olympus that keep the experience fresh. Hades knows exactly how to leverage its setting, perfectly capturing each deity’s unique personality and abilities.
The rogue-lite gameplay is also well suited for short bursts of gameplay or marathon sessions, making it a perfect fit for the Switch, which is currently the only home console its available on. It’s easily the best third-party game on the system, and one of the best reasons to pick up a Switch if you haven’t already.
6. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

Mario Kart 8 is the best kart racing game ever made. That was true with the original Wii U release and it’s true of the Switch port, which includes all previously released DLC and adds a few new characters and a completely reworked battle mode. Each and every track has its own challenges and the addition of anti-gravity racing is a nice update to the formula.
With tracks and characters from F-Zero, The Legend of Zelda, and Animal Crossing, Mario Kart 8 also feels like the most complete Nintendo racing game of all time. There’s really no reason for a Switch owner not to have this one in their collection.
5. Splatoon 2

Nintendo has never developed a multiplayer shooter like Call of Duty or Halo. Odds are it never will. But the Splatoon series is just as good as those shooters, especially the second installment. Like with the original, the focus of Splatoon 2 is to use a variety of paint-spraying weapons to cover as much of each level as possible. It’s actually a lot more fun and creative than most of the high-profile shooters out there.
Splatoon 2 adds quite a few new levels, weapons, and unlockables. There’s also a sizable single-player mode, and a ridiculously fun cooperative mode called Salmon Run. If that’s not enough content, Nintendo released the lengthy Octo Expansion DLC in 2018. A copy of Splatoon 2 could occupy a Switch gamer for months.
4. Animal Crossing: New Horizons

For a lot of people, Animal Crossing isn’t just a game. It’s life. New Horizons was always highly anticipated, but its release at the beginning of the Covid-19 lockdowns made it a much-needed escape for millions of people. Birthdays, graduations, and weddings couldn’t be held in-person, so many were celebrated within New Horizons. Even President Biden and Hong Kong democracy activists set up their own islands.
Even without the specter of Covid-19, New Horizons would still be one of the best games on the Switch. Nintendo has been perfecting the franchise for two decades now, but this version of Animal Crossing is easily the best yet, allowing for near-limitless customization of your own little world. And yet you’re still free to play at your own pace, without any of the pressure of the outside world. The ultimate appeal of Animal Crossing continues to be that it allows us to live our ideal lives.
3. Super Mario Odyssey

Is Super Mario Odyssey the best 3D Mario game? It’s hard to argue otherwise. Odyssey borrows its level structure and progression system from the beloved Super Mario 64, which Nintendo had largely ignored for the last two decades. Several new twists on the traditional 3D platforming formula, like the ability to throw your new hat buddy Cappy at enemies to take control of them, make Super Mario Odyssey feel incredibly fresh. There probably won’t be another platformer this good on the Switch.
2. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
2018 | Nintendo
Super Smash Bros. has remained wildly popular since it debuted in 1999, and there’s always been a lively debate about which title is the best in the series. Melee arguably has the best mechanics, while Brawl’s Subspace Emissary boasts the most complete story mode. The Wii U game looks fantastic, but the Ice Climbers and Snake were sorely missed.
Ultimate tries to satisfy the fans of each game by including every character who’s ever appeared in the series (plus a few new ones), more than 100 stages from throughout the Nintendo universe, a deep adventure mode called World of Light, and interesting tweaks to even the oldest characters in the roster. If Ultimate isn’t the perfect installment of Smash Bros., we don’t know what is.

Yes, the number of weapons have been cut down drastically, but the handful of abilities — like freezing time and creating ice blocks — create even more ways to complete the game’s challenges and traverse its world. And you will want to explore every last inch of Hyrule’s beautifully realized world.
For almost two decades, Zelda games closely following the formula established by Ocarina of Time, one of the greatest games ever made. Breath of the Wild throws out almost all of the concepts that Ocarina pioneered and redefines Zelda as something more open-ended and exciting that will hopefully continue to evolve over the next few years.

Chronic Illnesses & Witchcraft
Do you have a chronic illness & don't think you can participate in Wicca or paganism in general?
There are literally millions of people out there with chronic illnesses- from arthritis, ptsd, fibromyalgia, post concussion syndrome, anxiety, etc and if you're one of those you might think something along the lines of "well, I have this so I can't study as much as a "regular" person or I can't practice as much as this person" and that's totally understandable. When you begin a path, any path that you're passionate about, you want to be able to give it your all, so when you've got a condition that makes studying for hours or practicing daily difficult, it makes you want to give up or it makes you so frustrated you start to lapse on your learning, does this sound familiar? It's human nature to compare ourselves to others and think that because so and so is this "advanced" that you'll never catch up or because you have this condition, whichever it may be, that you're not worthy of studying Wicca or any spiritual path.
The truth however is completely different. Not many people know this about me but I suffer from post concussion syndrome. I've had this for several years now and it gives me all sorts of problems- from limiting the amount of time I can spend reading, to memory issues at times, to sheer exhaustion mentally and physically to where I'm just drained. I've had to learn to cope with this and trust me when I tell you, when it comes to health issues, i'm NOT a patient person because I'm a workaholic. I'm a professional artist, I run my own art and design business and I'm used to working hours and hours at a time. I'm a caregiver as well and I love reading, I used to be able to read for hours on end with no problems so when the PCS(post concussion syndrome) hit me, I felt very down, I still do sometimes because I simply can't function at the same levels I used to with reading, working, etc. I would love nothing more than to work 8 hrs a day constantly on things I love, then spend 2-3 hrs a night reading on Wiccan topics or just reading for fun for that matter. I'd love to study things I'm super passionate about including learning more about crystals, learning more about herbs and flowers and so forth. The undeniable fact is I simply can't. I've had to learn to work within my limitations; sometimes I'll push those because that's just the type of person I am and always will be and I get kicked in the butt for it but hey, if you don't push yourself a little bit, you won't expand now will you? But when I notice fatigue, pain setting in to a point I don't wish to worsen, I step back and I take a break.
There are times I can only study a book for say 15-20 minutes, there are times when I want to work on a craft project- either for professional or Wiccan reasons and I have to stop after half an hour to an hour of working on it and come back to it after a while. There's no shame in that. I've learned to adjust a bit, to study when I'm able to for as long as I'm able to, I've learned to work on things and if I feel too tired or in too much pain or what not, I take a break and replenish myself. If I have to skip a day or two, grudgingly, I do so . Guess what. No deity or Wiccan police have come to me and chastised me for not studying or working as much as Person B. If you need to take a few days away, do it! If you can only study 5-10 minutes a day- hey that's 5-10 minutes MORE than you knew before you did that, right? If you can only meditate a couple of minutes, well guess what! That's a couple of quality minutes you just spent to better your mind and body. If you only have time to study by listening to Wiccan audiobooks while you're driving to work or picking the kids up or fixing dinner- do it! That's time that you will spend learning. There are also other ways- such as reliable YouTube videos that can help teach you some things.
IF you have severe arthritis or fibro and it hurts just to hold a book, get an audiobook, if the same pain causes you too much pain to work in the kitchen chopping plants for a ritual or what not, invest in a quality blender or even coffee grinder. If you have memory problems, take notes when you're reading and test yourself now and again so you know you've learned the material and it'll start to help with your congition as well.
The point is, having a chronic condition doesn't make you any less of a witch, Wiccan or any other Pagan or anything else for that matter. Everyone, and I do mean EVERYONE has something that could be qualified as a "negative" - for some it's patience, for others it's memory, for others it is being lazy and so on. If yours happens to be a chronic illness that's ok! Work within your means, don't compare yourself to others; this is YOUR path, learn at YOUR pace that's comfortable for you. The only thing you have to concern yourself with is, "Am I doing the best I can with what I have available, physically, mentally and time wise?" .

Sharing hobbies is so important in a couple.

Children of Morta Review
Children of Morta is a game about family. Mechanically, it’s a satisfying dungeon crawler where you grind through bad guys, level up your characters, and unlock better abilities so that you can face off against a series of increasingly difficult bosses. But really, at its heart, it’s a compelling game about what it means to be a part of a family, and how being surrounded by loved ones can make you a better, stronger person.
The Bergson family, six of whom you’re able to play as, is made up of warriors, mages, and inventors all tasked with holding back the Corruption–which has, at the game’s opening, started to spread across their homeland. Their house sits atop a shrine, and to battle against the evil forces of the demonic Ou they need to travel through portals and conquer dungeons, in order to awaken three spirits that can guard against the Corruption.
It’s a cliched fantasy setup, but Children of Morta makes the most of its tropes by making sure that you’re invested in the Bergsons and their plight. Between runs of the dungeons, you’re treated to cutscenes and vignettes of the family interacting with one another, and you get to know the beats of their lives and what they get up to when they’re not enduring dungeons. You start with two playable characters, family patriarch John and his eldest daughter Linda, but the other four are introduced within the game’s opening half. Seeing them train and grow in cutscenes, and getting a sense of their place within the family, means that you’re already attached to the characters before you get your hands on them.
Gameplay in Children of Morta involves battling your way through hordes of enemies to reach each dungeon’s boss, exploring thoroughly and nabbing as many temporary boosts as you can along the way. Each character has three main abilities they’ll unlock as they level up: a standard attack that can be used continuously, a special attack with a cooldown, and a more defensive ability (although some of these can still do damage). The combat isn’t necessarily super deep, but it’s a lot of fun thanks to some extremely satisfying animation and the strategic possibilities that become available as you level up. Dungeons consist of multiple levels and are generated anew each time you enter, so finding the entrance to the next level will always require some exploration. Occasionally I’d find myself frustrated when the path to the exit ended up being very elaborate, but this also kept the game feeling fresh when some dungeons took a long time to clear.
There’s an imbalance between the number of melee and ranged characters–four melee to two ranged–which is a shame, because playing the ranged characters changes the rhythm of the game significantly by encouraging a slower, more thoughtful playstyle, and only having two of them feels like a missed opportunity. I found that Linda (who uses a bow and arrow) was the character I most often managed to beat bosses with, since so many bosses are primed to punish you for getting too close, and I would have loved to have another option beyond her and Lucy, the family’s youngest daughter.
Each character plays differently, and you’ll no doubt have your favorites. Lucy can shoot a continuous wave of fireballs while standing still, and can be upgraded to withstand three hits without damage; Kevin, the youngest son, can dramatically increase his speed and strength by building up “rage” with continuous knife attacks, but he needs to get very up-close to do so before using his power of invisibility to get out of danger. Some characters are less interesting; for the life of me I can’t figure out how to make Joey, who swings a huge hammer, effective. But it’s still fun trying out a character you haven’t played for a few runs and getting into the groove with each of their distinct rhythms.
You need to switch characters regularly, too, as any member of the family who is used too many times in a row begins to suffer from corruption fatigue, which lowers their overall health until they’re given time to recover. Each member of the family can also unlock new abilities that benefit every other family member as they level up (like higher rates of critical attack or even assists in certain situations), and later abilities in their skill trees can be very useful–I initially dismissed John for being too slow but found his shield and wide swing arc extremely useful later in the game, and was ultimately glad that the game encouraged me to use every character and discover their strengths (in five cases out of six, at least).
The plot’s focus on the family, paired with the tremendous art and beautiful animation, makes it easy to love the Bergsons. Lucy is so full of energy that she’ll jump in the middle of her run animation (which doesn’t interrupt your pathfinding at all but adds personality to her sprite), while eldest son Mark’s Naruto-style run is a perfect complement to his martial arts fighting style. Charming touches like this are everywhere, and they give the characters more personality. You feel those unique traits come through in combat, too; there are few things more satisfying than seeing Kevin shimmer with rage and rip through a huge mob of enemies.
And as with any family gathering, Children of Morta will encourage and then test your patience. It’s a grind-heavy game; it was very rare for me to beat a dungeon on my first shot, as most required that I level up and learn the boss’ attack patterns, which requires storming through the dungeon to get to them a few times. You can get away with running right past most enemy mobs, but to stand a chance against the boss at the end, you want to be armed with powerful buffs, and growing stronger requires farming experience and gold to unlock new abilities and improve your stats.
However, it takes a long time for the grind to start wearing you down. The combat is meaty and intense, and the allure of growing stronger is so compelling that dealing with huge crowds and collecting all the gold they spill can hold your attention for hours. There’s a sharp increase in difficulty right at the end, but I could always identify what had gone right–which fights I’d avoided, which charms I’d made use of, how I’d thought about my character’s relative strengths and weaknesses to the boss–and adjust my strategies accordingly to continue to do well. The grind helped make me a better player, instead of simply acting as a level gate.
There are special buffs that are only active for that session, and you have a much better chance of beating the boss if you go in after thoroughly exploring the dungeon and powering up. There are many different kinds of buff you can unlock, some temporary, some permanent; I found that I did far better against bosses when I went in with a lot of them active. You can find the various items and objects that make you more powerful throughout each dungeon, or buy them from shopkeepers that pop up, and I found myself getting excited whenever I found a good combination. Going up against a boss that has beaten you several times, now armed with a combination that you think will give you an advantage, is a great feeling.
Your dungeon runs are also broken up by numerous subquests that can appear throughout each dungeon, which expand on the game’s lore, introduce new NPCs, and result in significant upgrades or rewards. A few even have major narrative impact–there are a series of quests early on that end with the Bergsons adopting and raising an adorable puppy, for instance. But if one dungeon is really giving you grief, eventually it can feel like the game’s ready for you to move on before you’re ready yourself–you’ll stop getting cutscenes and character vignettes after missions, and you’ll find that you’ve run out of subquests to complete. But then, the feeling of eventually taking down a boss that was troubling you is extremely satisfying, especially knowing that you’re going to get more lovely character moments as you try to beat the next one.
You also have the option of playing the whole game in co-op, and the game balance differs depending on whether you’re alone or not. However, I found myself preferring to stick to solo play–it’s annoying for a friend to talk over cutscenes and the difficulty scaling makes co-op more complicated.
Children of Morta’s fantastic art style and enjoyable storytelling take what would have been an otherwise fun roguelike dungeon-crawler and elevate it a great deal. Taking down enemies and eventually triumphing over bosses is enjoyable, but what kept bringing me back was the connection I felt to the Bergsons, and my sincere desire to help them push back against the Corruption. After all, it’s a lot easier dealing with dungeons full of monsters when you have a family to come home to.
