Overprotective Father

Of all the things that Danny imagined when he decided to release Dan from his prison, he never thought that he would become his father. And while it was a little weird, he could see the point in it. Dan wasn't his future self, he was a combination between him and Vlad (something he really hated to think about), meaning, technically his son.

Dan also seemed uncomfortable with the new arrangement but he seemed much happier, and since being given access to the castle garden he was actually quite calm. Probably because of his unlimited access to ghost fruits. Who knew that all it took to stop his attempts of world conquest was a couple of ghost strawberries?

The father/son thing continued to be awkward, but they actually grew to like it (as much as Dan denied it). And that was okay, until Dan started... dating people.

And that was fine, really, Dan could date whoever he wanted (although he was too young in the halfa's opinion) but his choices weren't ideal: King Shark, Metron, Constantine, Darkseid, Bane, Morpheus, Brainiac, Deadshot, and more were added to the list. Even as the Ghost King Danny had a headache just thinking about it.

Danny didn't know what the hell Dan was seeing in them, but he decided it was time to interfere. Unfortunately for the Justice League, Danny decided to act like a father just as Dan started dating one of their members. So now an overprotective Ghost King was giving the entire meeting a shovel talk. Ellie was laughing in the background as Dan covered his face, his father was fucking embarrassing.

As flustering as it is, I can’t argue-

But I can’t help it! I’m driving myself crazy from the thought that I’m helpless to stop myself from growing, all I can do is sit back and watch myself get bigger. It’s like my body has been completely hijacked and I can’t control it anymore, even if I wanted to.

MY strawberries are blooming, which makes me think back to this photo from when I was doing a major "update" of the beds. I hope we have BUCKETS of them this year. This was 2019. The next year we were into the pandemic, and nothing has ever felt the same.

I had supervision and help. Of course. Always.

But do we live? I don't mean survive, I mean live. Is it worth it?

it's so worth it man. and yeah we do live. some of us get out of our old houses and some of us get married to people who love us for who we truly ate and some of us get new jobs and some of us start cleaning out our old wardrobes and some of us join bands and start organizations. so we do live. we have always wanted to live, and we will. i can tell you that nothing is permanent in life, but that includes the bad times. you will make it out. the life you've been wishing for? the end of the darkness you see in your daydreams? it will happen. maybe slowly but it will happen. and when it happens you will sleep soundly and wear what you like and people will notice your name and your voice for how cool they are. ok

First berry harvest of the year. Strawberries, alpine strawberries and honeyberries.

Slugs ate almost half of the ripe strawberries, but this seems to be happening every year at the beginning of the season. I put beer traps and they'll work well, the slugs will eventually disappear, but the first batch of strawberries to ripen always ends up eaten by them.
