When the gang is victorious, Salamander and Racer just want to take the long awaited chance and finally escape, but first they have to take care of some unfinished business.
Mafia AU lets go!! This piece was heavily inspired by Victorious by Panic! At the Disco
Racer is very focused on the plan while Sal's just uncomfortable on every level imaginable (with cameos in the background)
This was my first illustration for the The Scavengers, and it even takes a glimpse at the plotline of an older version of the story - I changed it a bit sinse. At the time I was rediscovering Panic! At the Disco's music for myself and one night this little estetic AU just popped in my mind
Also here's the ref sheet I did as a bonus:
(I actually own the dress and jewelry you can see on Salamander! Sal is a tomboy in every iteration of the story, but here I was going for a "she has no agency at this point of the story" angle - this concept is scrapped in the current version)
Most of the Morticians didn't have names at that point, so I called them by their role in the squad/gang. But it was more than half a year ago, so now I can somewhat properly introduse 'em to you:
"Healer" became Stargazer - grumpy nightwing healer of the Morticians, who cares deeply about her little family
"Keeper" is Parhelion, an icewing-skywing hybrid with a deep knowledge of funeral rituals, kinda the squad's grandpa. In retrospective, his role should actually be "Mortician"
"Messenger"'s ma boi Newt! He's a rainwing-mudwing hybrid and a part of the Center squad of the gang - he's responsible for the Morticians and works as a, well, a messenger for them. At that stage he was a side character, but now he is on of the protagonists alongside Sal!

Super curious to hear the opinion of someone who doesn’t know anything about Love Live! on Yohane the Parhelion
Like obviously you don’t need to know anything. It’s a fantasy AU. The entire story is new, it’s just some characters who are recycled. But I think the majority of people watching it are watching it because it’s Aqours from LLSunshine and so they’re already invested.
But even though there’s still music this is no longer an idol anime. It’s about magic!
So it could potentially appeal to people who’ve never been interested in these characters before. Blank slate. New setting. New story.
Would almost pay someone to liveblog their reaction if I had any money. I love hearing the opinions of people who got into stuff through side doors. I’ve met two Sailor Moon fans now who saw the stage musicals first and I adore that. Still wanna hear the thoughts of someone outside Japan who only ever saw PGSM but I’m not sure that person exists.

Yohane the Parhelion: NUMAZU in the MIRAGE coming to PS4 on March 28, DLC announced

BeXide will release a PlayStation 4 version of roguelike deckbuilder Yohane the Parhelion: NUMAZU in the MIRAGE on March 28, the developer announced.
The PlayStation 5, Switch, and PC (Steam) versions of Yohane the Parhelion: NUMAZU in the MIRAGE are due out on February 22 worldwide. Unlike the PlayStation 5 and Switch versions, which are also available physically in Japan, the PlayStation 4 version will be digital-only.

Ignitience collects musical instruments from all over Yarmir*, but musical androids hold a special place in her collection (and heart).
Meet Libuše, an android minstrel known for singing melancholic fantasy songs, often rich in dark, poignant lyrics. Her vocal range spans an incredible eight octaves. She was originally crafted on Earth and Iggie invested significantly to acquire Libuše from a collector based in Parhelion**. Capitolium laws*** have disabled Libuše's self-learning capabilities, but beyond her singing prowess, she adeptly navigates diverse conversations and serves as an android-companion. Although devoid of a distinct "personality", she embodies politeness and courtesy. As a permanent singer in Šaltinis****, Libuše captivates audiences with her ethereal tunes.
*Yarmir — the extrasolar planet colonized by Earthlings, also inhabited by native Yarmirians with DNA and appearance akin to homo sapiens.
**Parhelion — a spaceship of Earthlings that recently landed on Yarmir, evolving into a city with its own laws.
***Capitolium — the main location of the story, including the first spaceship of earthlings on Yarmir (Aurora), as well as the city built both on the surface of this ship and beyond.
****Šaltinis — Ignitience's saloon.

How do people feel about the original fiction on AO3? Do you read much of it? are you excited or disappointed when it shows up in search results? Do you think it has a place on a fanfiction archive?

LOL.
Well, how I felt about it was that I sat on the content committee for years, trying to outlast the people who'd insisted on banning it.
The willful cluelessness about why it needed to be included enraged me and still does. (Long story short: communities that weren't that present yet on AO3 have often included it in fic archives. The split was roughly English language fandom of US live action vs. anime and non-English fandom.)
I don't read it on AO3 all that often unless I'm going directly to an author I like, like Parhelion. My searches start from a fandom or ship tag, so original work does not show up. If I were hunting for a trope tag, I wouldn't care.

TWST Dark AU Character Cheat Sheet
OCs abound in the Dark AU for worldbuilding purposes, so I've put together this cheat sheet! This includes OCs as well as canon characters (who are not going to be that canon because this is an AU and there are a lot of backstory changes).
The characters here may or may not be plot relevant. Vague spoilers may or may not show up.
Main Protagonists
Pandora "Andy" Lawrence: First year Pomefiore student. Our sassy, amnesiac hero who really wants to know what's going on.
Lancelot Trappola: Ace's older brother, a third year Heartslabyul student for the first year of the story. He has some very suspicious connections and likes to play Xanatos Speed Chess.
Jamil Viper: Scarabia first year who really doesn't want to talk about his history. Likes dancing, hates being told what to do.
Heartslabyul
Riddle Rosehearts: A first year and Heartslabyul's newest housewarden. He royally fucked it up and is now trying to make amends, starting with appointing the previous Housewarden as his Vice so they can work together to make Heartslabyul the best it can be.
Cater Diamond: 2nd year. Heartslabyul's Housewarden-turned-Vice Housewarden after Riddle acknowledges that he needs help with managing the dorm.
Lancelot Trappola: See Main Protagonists.
Trey Clover: 2nd year. Riddle's best friend and dorm mom. Somehow, the only one of the cast that doesn't have a tragic backstory.
Ace Trappola: Lancelot's "cute little brother" (in the words of Pandora) who seems determined to follow the footsteps of his older brother, despite Lancelot''s worries. He's also got a mischievous streak a mile wide.
Deuce Spade: A former delinquent who's determined to wash his hands of all gang activity. Too bad he immediately became rivals with Ace Trappola...
Savanaclaw
Leona Kingscholar: 2nd year; 2nd Prince of the Afterglow Savanna who seems to have stopped caring about anything.
Ruggie Bucchi: first year with sticky fingers and an eye for profit.
Jack Howl: An athletic student with a moral backbone-- a rarity at NRC.
Octavinelle
Ardalion Douglas: 3rd year. Octavinelle's Housewarden before Azul.
Azul Ashengrotto: First year. A cunning businessman who seeks to make deals with everyone he meets.
Jade Leech: First Year. Mushroom obsessed merman with a hint of sadism.
Floyd Leech: First Year. Mood swings personified.
Scarabia
Jamil Viper: See Main Protagonists.
Adel al-Hakim: second son of the al-Hakim merchant family with an unusual moral backbone of steel.
Kalim al-Asim: the heir of one of the Scalding Sands' Big Four merchant families and Jamil's master. So nice that you can almost overlook his family's rather alarming relationship with the Vipers.
Pomefiore
Vil Schoenheit: 2nd year. Twisted Wonderland's biggest teen actor and in line to be Housewarden.
Rook Hunt: First year Savanaclaw transfer. Likes to "hunt" students. Figured out Andy was a girl a week after they met.
Epel Felmier: a farm kid from Harveston who really wants to be manly.
Ignihyde
Idia Shroud: 2nd year Housewarden. A magitech genius who prefers spending his time playing video games.
Ortho Shroud: Idia's little brother. The cutest student on campus and always willing to lend a helping hand, unless it will harm Idia.
Diasomnia
Parhelion Istvan: First year and Prince of the Land of Swords. He's got a serious grudge against the Draconia family and General Lilia Vanrouge.

Selenelion is very pretty! Would love to hear about em!
They came about when I learned of the term, I thought it’d be interesting to make a DCA character out of them. Unlike most of them there’s not like a specific “canon” story around them but there’s two differing stories thought up with em
The first was an idea from Cherry of them being a result of staff putting some code from Solar into Lunar to try to get her to not be so evil. Didn’t work, but did form a new AI being Selenelion who at least is actually nice to Solar. They are very prone to glitches that can hurt them since they weren’t exactly made to be their own separate functioning AI
The other is from an AU I forget the name of, but essentially magic and magically enhanced technology was brought into a CV world. The original CV animatronics were discarded but are still alive. All are replaced by either similar robots with the magic technology or completely new characters. Selenelion is one of the new ones, being one of the two nee DCAs, the other being their sibling Parhelion who got made by me for this AU. Eventually Solar, Sun, and Moon return to the plex and meet Selenelion and Parhelion. They both look up to Solar (especially Parhelion) and he acts a bit like a dad to them

🥰 What I Used To Be (thepinupchemist) - 117K, stucky, omegaverse trauma recovery fic - a relatively light tone, mostly escapist fic focusing on the recovery, not dwelling overly much on trauma details, kidfic but I really dug it
😍 The Adventures of Amina al-Sirafi (Amina al-Sirafi #1) (Shannon Chakraborty, author; Lameece Issaq & Amin El Gamal, narrator) - just gonna KJ Charle's review bc she's better with words than I'll ever be: "Good god, this was incredible fun. Absolutely cracking. A sort of take on Sinbad but with more historical accuracy (apart from the demons, marids, etc), with a middle-aged retired lady pirate getting the crew back together to take on a Frankish coloniser/sorceror/baddie. It's just fabulous exuberant fun." I cannot wait for more!
😊 The Werewolf Companion (MargaretKire) - traumatized derek hale, intriguing larger worldbuilding, hot, wet, messy sex that really leaned into the 'definitely not human' aspect of werewolf fucking without going full xeno. super enjoyable
