20 Questions for Fic Writers
Thanks for the tag @esmealux ❤️❤️
How many works do you have on AO3?
I have 29 works on AO3. I've been working on a new Lucifer fic for the past 2 years on and off (mostly off) and that'll be my 30th on the site. However, I do have 63 works on ff.net (29 of them are the same) from various fandoms.
What's your total AO3 word count? As of right now, I have a word count of 179,925 words on AO3. I know that total is sometimes some writers' word count for a single fic. ;)
What fandoms do you write for?
Right now, it's mainly Lucifer (and Supernatural). I've been writing fanfics since I was a sophomore in high school. On ff.net I have written for (in no particular order): Bewitched, The Big Bang Theory, Castle, Doctor Who, Forever, Heroes, Jimmy Neutron, Lucifer, Smallville, Supernatural, Timeless, and Will & Grace.
Top five fics by kudos:
The More Things Change... (Lucifer): 1,090 kudos
Been Down This Road Before (Supernatural): 621 kudos
A Unique Guilt Trip (Lucifer): 548 kudos
Trick-Or-Treating Revelations (Lucifer): 543 kudos
Thanks For Listening (Lucifer): 449 kudos
Do you respond to comments?
Yes! I try to respond to every comment if I can... at least on AO3.
What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
I don't actually write angsty endings. All my fics have happy endings actually. ❤️
What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Oh, wow. Since all my fics have happy endings, it's hard to choose just one... for the ones I wrote over a decade ago, honestly, I can't remember... LOL. Read them if you so choose and pick your own. ;)
Do you get hate on fics?
I would get hate on fics on ff.net but thankfully (not so far) on AO3. When I first started writing fanfics, I interpreted some helpful advice AS hate, but it really wasn't. Thankfully the response is mostly positive on my writing. Sometimes I'll still get some "hate" on ff.net, but I still feel an obligation to post there for consistency since I cross-posted since getting an AO3 account.
Do you write smut?
No. (But I read it).
Craziest crossover:
The only crossover I have written was a Castle & Forever crossover that can be found on ff.net and AO3 called Ties That Bind.
Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not to my knowledge.
Have you ever had a fic translated?
I think somebody wanted to translate one of my older Smallville fics back in the day. Honestly, I can't remember which one or if it came to fruition.
Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Not to my memory, but I used to beta all the time for Smallville. And I was a "consultant" on a fanfic on AO3 from a friend for a Forever and Quantum Leap crossover fic. Plus, I bounce ideas off with fandom friends in the Lucifer fanfiction world. ❤️
All time favorite ship?
Uhhhhhhhhhh... I can't say an all-time favorite ship because I love all of my ships equally. But I'll settle for my top two: Clois (Clark Kent and Lois Lane) and Deckerstar (Chloe Decker and Lucifer Morningstar).
What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
I've had a WIP for Sherlock/Sherlolly in my documents for quite a few years. It's a time travel one where Sherlock from post S4 gets sent back to the time between the end of S1 & beginning of S2. I don't think that one is ever gonna be finished to be honest. I never post fics until they're finished anyway, so at least there won't be anybody disappointed. ;)
What are your writing strengths?
I try to pride myself on the characters being written in-character - where the reader can actually picture the actor's expressions, mannerisms, etc - like they're watching an episode. Dialogue is definitely where I excel.
What are your writing weaknesses?
I really suck at descriptions. I'm not gonna lie. I have tried to work on setting the scene and character movements, etc but I still struggle with those factors.
Thoughts on dialogue in another language?
I'm not really great at it. If the character is known to say words or phrases in another language, I might write it in a few times, but nothing that needs a long translation.
First fandom you wrote in?
Jimmy Neutron (on ff.net) when I was about 16 years old.
Favorite fic you've written?
I have a few, but honestly I'm more proud of my Lucifer stories and my one Supernatural story, so I'd have to go with a tie between my first ever Lucifer fic: The More Things Change... and my Supernatural fic: Been Down This Road Before. And right now the Lucifer fic I've been working on for 2 years is quickly becoming a favorite too. LOL. We'll see if people like it once I've finished it and started posting. ❤️
---------
Tagging a few of my fandom friends: @my-crazy-awesome-sox, @mightbeawriter, @wendeckerstart, @kaykat666, @thewollfgang and anyone else who wants to or feels inclined to do it! And to those that I tagged, please don't feel obliged to do it. Love oo!! ❤️

20 Questions for Fic Writers
Well, I now have time to do things like this, so thanks for tagging me @nalyra-dreaming, lol!
--------------------------
How many works do you have on ao3? -- 5
What’s your total ao3 word count? -- 122,062
What fandoms do you write for? -- Interview with the Vampire/Vampire Chronicles
Top 5 fics by kudos -- Well I only have 5 fics up on AO3, so:
Now or Neverland
Half-Forgotten Dreams
Goodbye Yellow Brick Road
Promises, Promises
Where the Truth Lies
Do you respond to comments? -- Yes, I try to respond to all comments I get and have done so for the most part. (I've only got one sitting in my inbox that I need to reply to at the moment).
What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? -- Where the Truth Lies. First posted it less than a week ago, so I can't elaborate on it, just . . . yeah.
What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? -- Well, in the relative scheme of things, I guess Now or Neverland's ending would be considered "happy." IMO it's really more wistful than happy, but not as bittersweet as the ending of all my other fics are. Excepting Where the Truth Lies' ending, of course, as I noted above.
Do you get hate on fics? -- Only on one fic. (And it was rather. . . telling . . . that it was on that fic too, IMO.)
Do you write smut? -- 😏 But, so far, no PWP kinds, as what I've written are all scenes within larger stories being told.
Craziest crossover -- Um, none. Unless you want to count real-world history that some of the stories bump up against as a "crossover." Which, personally, I don't. However, I did write a real crossover fic once, but it's not on AO3 . . . nor would I call it crazy.
Have you ever had a fic stolen? -- No, not that I know or heard of.
Have you ever had a fic translated? -- Again no, not that I'm aware of.
Have you ever co-written a fic before? -- Well, I've co-written a series, not just one specific fic. So I guess that works for this question.
What’s a wip you want to finish, but doubt you ever will? -- LOL! Okay, I know for a fact that I'm never going to finish this fic I'm about to talk about. I started it back in 2005, and 10 years later I put up a note saying I wasn't going to finish it. And it wasn't for IWTV Fandom, nor is the fic posted on AO3, but I want to mention it anyway. Because there will always be a part of me that wishes I could have finished writing this fic, and has wished it for years.
It is a Buffy/Harry Potter Crossover fic called Harry Potter and the Mystical Key. It's posted and still up on FF.net, and it's the one and only fic I have posted on there.
It was the first real fanfic I ever planned and started writing. I wrote and posted up to something like 56K words of it too, before I abandoned it, mostly due to losing my passion for writing because of real-life things that were happening to me around that time. And no matter how much I tried, I just had no interest in trying to finish it. But it's always kind of haunted me over the years, and made me wary of ever starting another fanfic project again over the fear of losing interest and never finishing it.
And now, I've completed 5 fics within a 200K (it's looking like) series, writing 122K of it in one year. I'm happy. 😊
What are your writing strengths? -- I think I have a good and natural feel for how to structure a story so that it will be interesting to read. I, personally, have always had to at least know the skeletal structure of a story and where it's going before I start writing it . . . otherwise, I just feel like I'm wasting my time on writing something with no point to it. I'm also not afraid to change things in the middle of writing something if I come up with something better.
I'm also not afraid to skip around when I'm writing. Makes writing the stuff I may not be as interested in writing easier to write if I've already written the things/scenes I've most been looking forward to.
I've also been told that my writing style is very vivid. I also am totally fine with someone editing my stories to hell and back because I do that very same thing myself. Nothing is perfect, but I always try to make sure a story is the best it can be before I post it.
What are your writing weaknesses? -- If you may not have noticed, I suck when it comes to spelling. Also, I can be way too vague sometimes when I'm trying to hide a later revelation in a story, but still set it up beforehand. I always have to remind myself that just because I understand the hint I'm trying to lay about something, that doesn't mean I've made that hint clear enough to the reader.
And I suspect I may be too wordy since many of my fics tend to be long. (Over 10K.) I never set out to write long stories on purpose, but I know the length of the stories I write can probably be off-putting for some people.
Also, just sitting down and writing can be hard for me to do. I can get distracted and procrastinate easily. I have to have the correct focus -- usually light focus music or writing sprint videos -- playing to get things done. (And, when I'm writing at night, I usually light some candles as well.)
Thoughts on dialogue in another language? -- As long as it fits the character, I'm up for it.
First fandom you wrote in? -- Strawberry Shortcake. I was around 5 years old or so (so it was like 1982-83). My mom let me use her blue Brother typewriter but I had to use lined paper instead of typing paper because she didn't want me to waste that kind of paper on what I was writing. I didn't know that I was writing fanfic of course, but that was totally what I was doing. I sat and hunted and pecked out the letters. IIRC I typed about two pages of my little story too (over like a weekend).
That said, the first fanfic I ever wrote after first coming online was a short Star Trek: Voyager fanfic that I can't even remember the title of now. Or if it's still up online somewhere.
Favourite fic you’ve written? -- Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, simply because I think it's the most tightly written of the five fics I've written so far. I also just really love the structure of it, which I planned out in linear order, but then wrote non-linerally. I don't think that story would feel as tightly written as it does if I had just written and posted it in linear order.
--------------------------
Okay, that was super fun to do. 🙂 Glad I now have time to do things like this. I'm just going to tag @faerywhimsy, @girlwithakiwi, @virginiaisforvampires, @doublehex, @elsakey, @impressionism, and @faerywhimsy if any of you would like to do this too. And, of course, anyone else who wishes to do this too go right ahead. :-)

20 Questions for Fic Writers
Tagged by @spotsandsocks. Thank you for the tag!!
How many works do you have on Ao3?
59
What's your total Ao3 word count?
250,243 words
What fandoms do you write for?
Currently only 911. In the past, Supernatural, Shameless, Bones, and BtVS.
Top 5 fics by kudos:
Breaking News
The jury's out, but my choice is you
On the Outside
say (don't) go
Believe in one thing, I won't go away
Do you respond to comments?
Honestly, no. Trying to respond stresses me out. It can take me literally hours to figure out how to respond to a single comment, and then I feel like, if I respond to one, I have to respond to all immediately, and my anxiety can't handle it. So I've mostly stopped responding. Every now and then, I will respond to a friend because I don't stress over those, or if someone makes a weird comment where they seem to have misunderstood something I might respond to try to clear things up.
What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
For 911, honestly, I don't think I have any angsty endings. Plenty of angsty fics, but most of my endings are happy or at least hopeful. I guess I would maybe say the one with the angstiest ending is Believe in one thing, I won't go away, but the end is still pretty hopeful.
Outside of 911, the angstiest ending was definitely in a little Supernatural fic I wrote many years ago titled The Things They've Left Behind. It's also one of fics I'm proudest of. But it's a rough one.
What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Honestly, there are quite a few happy endings to my fics, but I think say (don't) go takes this one. It's a little angsty through the main story, but the epilogue is just pure fluff.
Do you get hate on fics?
Not often, but once or twice. More often than hate for the fic, I get sort of weird hate comments about side characters in the story. Like, I'll have a fic where Taylor Kelly is kind of in the background, but not in any way written hatefully or even negatively, and people will just go off on the character in the comments, which is weird and not a great look. Don't do this, y'all.
I did once get a hate comment accusing me of villainizing Eddie based on the summary alone, I believe. I responded, and they apologized, which I appreciated. But I will never understand people's need to toss around accusations without even reading the actual fic.
Do you write smut?
I have in the past, but not recently. I really have to be in a very specific mood to write smut, and often I just cannot tap into the focus I'd need for it because I generally find writing smut boring. So it takes me forever to actually finish anything even a little bit smutty. I've had a post vow renewal smut fic in the works since the vow renewal aired, and I just can't get it together.
So. Often not my cup of tea as a writer.
Craziest Crossover:
Okay, I don't have this posted on Ao3 (I think it's on ff.net?), but I once wrote a series of Sam Winchester/Temperance Brennan fics. Those were fun times.
Have you ever had a fic stolen?
I don't think so. I had a couple of fanvids stolen back when I vidded for Bones, but never fics, I don't think.
Have you ever had a fic translated?
I think someone asked once and may have done the translation? I can't remember if anything ever came of it, though.
Have you ever co-written a fic before?
I have not. I don't have the focus or discipline to co-write with anyone. I would immediately lose focus and cause everything to go off the rails, and I would never want to do that to someone else.
All time favorite ship?
All time? I don't know. I really want to say buddie, but also, like Mulder/Scully and Sam/Dean. Honestly, I tend to be just very, very attached to my ship of the moment, so answering for all time is tough.
What's a wip you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
Probably this Natalia finds out about Chris fic because I keep accidentally fogetting it exists, which. is hindering progress.
What are your writing strengths?
I honestly don't know. I think maybe emotional scenes or angst?
What are your writing weaknesses?
A lot. Focus is the worst. I just don't really have it, and it makes writing near impossible. I also don't think I'm any good at scene transitions or dialogue sometimes.
Thoughts on dialogue in another language?
I wouldn't personally do it because I don't have enough of any other lanuage to feel comfortable with it. I might use a word here or there if the character uses it regularly and I feel generally comfortable with the context and/or translation. I also don't love when people drop in dialogue or things in other languages and admit to just using google translate because that feels. not great.
I also don't think it should be translated in the middle of the fic. Sometimes, it's okay to not understand every single word of a fic, and people who speak and write in other languages shouldn't have to translate every word for their readers over a couple of lines in another language. Which might be a weird take, but that's where I stand on it, I think.
First fandom you wrote in?
Like, in my little notebooks before the internet was a thing in my house, it was The X-Files when I was like 8-11. That I posted in a fandom I actually interacted with, I think it was BtVS.
Favorite fic you've written?
This one's kind of a toss up. For 911, I think it's probably one of the following:
I got nothing to believe (unless you're choosing me)
say (don't) go
You were bigger than the whole sky
Home
I know I should narrow it down more, but I don't know. That first one is probably recency bias and the fact that parts of it are deeply personal to me. The second is the Eddie wants kids fic, which I worked on for months, so it has a special place in my heart. The third one is kind of a weird little experiment that was just unlike anything I'd ever written before. And the fourth one is a post break-up fic, and I really enjoyed playing with that kind of angst.
So they were all pretty different, and I can't choose.
Tagging (no pressure! and sorry for any double tags!): @messyhairdiaz @shortsighted-owl @elvensorceress @reachingforaspark @wh0re-behavi0r @daffi-990 @eddiebabygirldiaz and anyone else who wants to participate.

20 Questions for Fic Writers!
I saw this from a mutual @teafiend and I'm gonna do it lol
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
9; they're mostly one shots. I think there are two that are multichapter. There are two that are part of a series of oneshots.
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
I'm not sure if there's a formal way to check it but 26,602 (as of 11/3/23)
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Right now Stranger Things. I have one Harry Potter one.
In the past, on FF.net there might be more, like from Final Fantasy VII and more Harry Potter but I don't post on there anymore so I'm not counting it lol.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
1. Closer to You (Mileven oneshot) - 91 kudos
2. One More Light (4 or 5 chapter fic Mileven) - 58 kudos
3. Dirty Dancing (Dramione oneshot) - 55 kudos
4. It's a Mad World (One shot about Mike and Eddie's first meeting) - 49 kudos
5. Roll Away Your Stone (Mike & Max fix set in S3) - 40 kudos
5. Do you respond to comments? Why? Why not?
I always try to, since I don't get a lot of interaction (which is fine, I know how this works lol) so when I do, the comments are super appreciated. I don't post for comments but they are always nice.
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?.
Ummmm lol I don't think any of them end angstily lol but maybe not Happily Ever After. At least the ones that are finished lol. Maybe Dirty Dancing because of how it ends? I don't know lol. I'm still debating on if my Stranger Things-Titanic AU will end happy lol
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
I feel like they're all pretty happy but not like Happily Ever After kind of thing.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Not yet lol
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
No, I don't feel like I would be good at it lol. Maybe one day and maybe in the Stranger Things-Titanic AU will be my first. I've written it before kind of... but not in a fanfiction... hard to explain lol.
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
No but I did have an idea years ago of a Peter Pan/Hermione Granger fic but no idea where I wanted to go with it so lol.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I know of. Stealing people's fan work is low hanging fruit so get a life.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Nope.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
No... but I have written with people before for other "fan" stuff.
14. What’s your all time favorite ship?
That's hard lol I don't think I have an ALL TIME fave but I'll name a few and not in any particular order. And because I like these, doesn't mean I've written a fic for them or read a fic of them (most likely I have though). I actually did a post a while back on some fave anime ships, I'll link that. Fave Anime Ships.
Bamon (Bonnie Bennett & Damon Salvatore)
NejiTen (Neji Hyuga & Tenten)
Cloti (Cloud Strife & Tifa Lockhart)
Hacy (Harry Greenwood & Macy Vaughn)
Kanthony (Kate Sharma & Anthony Bridgerton)
Cole Cassidy & Sombra (this one is new but I really like it lol)
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
Nothing, I plan to finish everything.
16. What are your writing strengths?
I'm not sure lol, I feel like I capture character voices well. I tend to write in third person and I can still get across how my characters are feeling and thinking. I also write original novels and have been for over 10 years so I hope my strengths have strengthened over the years.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Tenses really kick my ass and I overthink it. I feel like some people have really beautiful and lyrical ways of writing and I definitely can't do that lol.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
Haven't and won't.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Harry Potter
20. Favourite fics you’ve written?
Um.... I'm not sure if I have a favorite lol. Maybe One More Light only because I actually teared up a little when writing one of the chapters because I just let my fingers go and it flowed. Whether or not it's good, well lol but I do think that one is emotional.
But that's it!

Fic Writer Interview
Saw Topsy did this and it looked like fun so now Imma pester y'all with one.
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
35, currently, and only 1 is for a fandom other than The Lego Movie lmao
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
496,195 over the course of 6 years
3. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
1- Reboot To be honest, I'm kind of baffled by this one. I started it just when covid was really starting to take off, lost where I was going with it before I was even halfway through writing it because I got SO swamped with work that writing was taken off the stove entirely for a while, and a lot of it was honestly just half-assed to get it finished but so many people LOVE it. I don't think I'll ever stop scratching my head about it, but at this point I've just accepted that it's my most popular fic ever. 2- Atonement Still ongoing and without a clear ending in mind yet. I had 2 ideas I was wanting to play with when I started it- wingfic, and house arrest. I've been having fun with it so far. 3- Prizes, Plunder, and Adventure This one was actually written based on a friend's doodles & half-finished ideas. I took them & ran with them as far as I could lol. I'm honestly happy that this one's in my top 5. 4- Hot Spring Another one that I'm kind of baffled by. It's a oneshot that's barely over 400 words. People like their coppernauts fluff, I guess lol 5- Time Travel Troubles This one was based on a prompt a friend gave me when I complained that I wanted so badly to write but had 0 ideas, lol. Of all my oneshots, I'm glad this one made it into my top 5.
4. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Most of the time! Sometimes I can't think of a response though, and once I got overwhelmed with like 25 comments on one fic in one night from the same person so my brain kind of short-circuited lol. I definitely read and cherish every single one though.
5. What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?
I don't really do angst tbh, so none of my fics really have angsty endings.
6. What’s the fic you’ve written with the happiest ending?
That's a tough one to pick, I always write happy endings. XD; I guess I'll go with Starting Over Again.
7. Do you write crossovers?
Sort of; honestly I think they'd qualify more as AUs than proper crossovers, but sometimes I just get bit by a bug to write all my favorite characters in some other media settings for shits & giggles. Murphy's Law (Skyrim), Space Shenanigans (Star Wars), The Stranger (Myst), Octan Nights (1001/Arabian Nights), and Hollow Heart (Beauty and the Beast)
8. Have you ever received hate on a fic?
Yeah, when I first started posting Murphy's Law on ff.net. Honestly it just made me laugh, it was so obviously some kid doing a shit job of being a troll.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
I tried once. It was SO awful that I ended up deleting it and swore off ever trying again.
10. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not to my knowledge.
11. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Nope. The fandom I'm in is pretty small so no one's bothered to translate any fics in it, at least as far as I know.
12. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Oh, eons ago when I was still just a little baby birb. I wrote a pitiful attempt at an OoT fic with 2 of my cousins that never got far. All my works since have been solo.
13. What’s your all-time favorite ship?
Coppernauts. C:
14. What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?
Lord I have SO MANY. Think I'd pick Tech Support though (with a much better rewrite to boot, so no link for this one. If you want to read the atrocious original, you'll have to hunt it down yourself :P).
15. What are your writing strengths?
I'm told I'm pretty good with characterization. I'll choose to believe it. ;3
16. What are your writing weaknesses?
Describing literally anything. I am terrible for just... not doing it. Which is something I REALLY need to work on if I really want to reach my 300k goal with The Umiran Amulet.
17. What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
There's only one language I can speak in any capacity, so I just stick with English. If it's something that's meant to be in another language, I just italicize it. Only every once in a blue moon will I use a word in another language, like if a character is swearing in their native tongue, and only if I'm absolutely 100% certain it's the right word.
18. What was the first fandom you wrote for?
Ocarina of Time. It was the fic I mentioned earlier that I wrote with my 2 cousins.
19. What’s a fandom/ship you haven’t written for yet but want to?
I don't really have any, at least at this time. I am very, VERY slow to move between fandoms & ships and am probably still going to be quite happily writing for TLM even when there's literally only 5 of us left lol.
20. What’s your favorite fic you’ve written?
I'd have to say The Atlantis Expedition, which was my first ever fic for the TLM fandom, and the first one I'd ever finished period. I have others that I love just as much, but this one will always have a special place in my heart.

stealing this because the boops made me realize how much i miss tag games.
How many works do you have on AO3? A grand total of 14. I am not a prolific writer.
What’s your total AO3 word count? 63,880. Please see above answer.
What fandoms do you write for? Batman and Star Wars. I have a little bit of Supernatural fic posted on an alt account, and I've been turning over an idea for an OW fic in my head for a while, but it takes me a long time to figure out how to write in a fandom in a way that still captures the "vibes" of the source material (which is always one of my goals). So I rarely branch out.
What are your top 5 fics by kudos? New Cornerstone (suitless!Vader AU from a million years ago), Brothers in Arms (Jon starts to get an inkling that his best friend has perhaps not had a normal childhood), Setting the Bone (Selina Kyle: reluctant parental figure), In This Twilight (Damian and Jason brotherly bonding, first batfam fic I ever wrote), and Try to Sweep the Darkness Out (batfam Christmas special that I've almost orphaned 10 times because I hate the writing choices I made in it so much). None of the fics I'm actually proud of are on this list. Tragic.
Do you respond to comments? Irregularly and unpredictably! I will if I feel like I have something to say and it catches me in the right mood.
What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? Uh, that would be High Water Mark since it starts with a scene of Cody contemplating suicide and ends with the instant right before Order 66 kicks in.
What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? Probably Problem Solving since it's the only fic I've ever written where I was actually trying to be light hearted.
Do you get hate on fics? Never, thankfully.
Do you write smut? If so, what kind? If I thought I could do it successfully, I would. But I'm not, so I don't.
Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written? Basically never. There is a Doctor Who/Sherlock fic buried on my old FF.net account. There's also a Super Smash Bros fic on there that I wrote in 2009, which I suppose also counts.
Have you ever had a fic stolen? I can't imagine why anyone would.
Have you ever had a fic translated? Nope.
Have you ever co-written a fic before? No, and I never would. I'm too much of a control freak about my writing. Writing, say, shared universe stuff might be fun, but actually co-authoring something would drive me nuts.
What’s your all time favorite ship? What a question. I come back to Jaime/Brienne a lot for reading, but I don't think I'd ever write it. I write a ton of BatCat, but rarely read it because I'm particular. I like Lois/Clark, but I almost never write OR read it. I'm honestly not very ship motivated. Most of the time I filter for a ship because I'm in the mood for its attendant tropes, and if the writing is good, you can sell me on just about anything.
What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will? Hmngh. New Cornerstone again. There's 20k of an expanded version of it on my hard drive that I haven't added to since probably 2017. There's something very fun about suitless!Vader as a character because he's such a sparking, destructive livewire of a person, but also I'm experienced enough now to realize how difficult doing justice to that premise is. Also, I'd have to rewatch TCW to get Ahsoka's voice down, and I just don't got time for that shit.
What are your writing strengths? Description and sense of place. Also pretty good at dialogue.
What are your writing weaknesses? Fucking. Long fic. Plot in general. I'm horrifically bad at it.
Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic? I'm usually inclined to keep all my dialogue in English, but it would depend on the context and the effect I was going for.
First fandom you wrote for? Purposefully? Inuyasha. Without having any idea what fanfic was? I created an Artemis Fowl fairy OC and stuck her in Indiana Jones when I was 10 years old.
Favorite fic you’ve written? They Don't Sing Songs For Me. No contest. It's perfectly captures what I think is the ideal form of fanfic: two characters who have absolutely no business interacting with each other building a compelling relationship dynamic over the course of 9k words.
I will be tagging @panharmonium, @apostatefrog, @dead-ghost-walking, @ryehouses, @yellowocaballero, @lazuliquetzal. Also anyone else who wants to. I will bring back tag games by force of will, so help me God.

Twenty Questions for Fic Writers
Thanks to @sorakazeno for tagging me!
How many works do you have on AO3?
222! (Keeping in mind that I've been writing fics for over twenty years at this point.)
What’s your total AO3 word count?
1,747,556
What fandoms do you write for?
Yuri!!! on Ice and Sailor Moon are my main fandoms at the moment, but I've written for Kaleido Star, Fruits Basket, Card Captor Sakura, Princess Tutu, Someday's Dreamers, Harry Potter, and Fire Emblem in the past. Oh, and a Sailor Moon/Super GALS crossover.
What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
"Midnight Magic" (Card Captor Sakura) - 401 (Somehow!)
"No Longer Alone" (Kaleido Star) - 164
"One Kiss" (Sailor Moon) - 146
"Realization" (Sailor Moon) - 144
"Welcome to the Family" (Yuri!!! on Ice) - 135
Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Yes, I at least try to thank people for reading and enjoying the fic!
What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Probably "Do Not Cry For Me", my Mercury/Zoisite Silver Millennium fic…or maybe "Salvation", an AU Chibi-Usa/Helios vampire fic? I might personally give a slight edge to "Salvation", just because C/H is my OTP!
What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Happiest? Man, that's a hard question! I honestly don't know. Um…maybe "Double Blessing", where JJ and Isabella find out that not only have they been approved to adopt a little girl from China, Isabella has finally gotten pregnant after dealing for years with unexplained fertility. That's pretty happy!
Do you get hate on fics?
On occasion. Bound to happen when you've written as much and for as long as I have.
Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Yes, I do, even though I'm asexual myself and have no real-life experience! I've written all kinds: het, m/m, w/w, even a few threesomes.
Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
Generally, no, but I did write one a long time ago, the aforementioned Sailor Moon/Super GALS fic. I also toyed with the idea of a Sailor Moon/Witch Hunter Robin crossover, but that never went anywhere.
Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Yes, twice. The first one was in the days of A Sailor Moon Romance. I've forgotten which fic it actually was, but I remember it was funny because the summary and my story did not match at all, and I might not have even caught them if I wasn't a Minako/Yaten fan and checked it out because the summary sounded interesting! (The stolen fic was not M/Y. Knowing me, it was probably C/H.) The second fic is probably still up at FF.net since the site's pretty much unmoderated nowadays. They took my fic "Daddy's Little Girl" and just changed the names to turn it into a Gundam Wing fic.
Have you ever had a fic translated?
Yes, someone translated my ficlet "Snip, Snip" into Russian.
Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Not exactly, but back in the day, SuperKateB adopted a fic idea I had (with permission, of course) and credited me as her co-writer, even though I didn't do any of the actual writing. I just came up with the initial plot -- an unsigned love letter making the rounds between various Sailor Moon characters, leading to a bunch of misunderstandings -- and offered some suggestions. I think I may have beta'd it, too? (I think it was called "Love Chain"? I don't know if it's still posted anywhere online, though.)
What’s your all time favourite ship?
It's a tie between Chibi-Usa/Helios and Otabek/Yuri!
What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
"Metamorphosis", which is a Helios origin story exploring how he became priest of Elysion.
What are your writing strengths?
Characterization, maybe?
What are your writing weaknesses?
Oh, descriptions, without a doubt! I suck at writing descriptions.
Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
Okay with me, as long as the meaning can be reasonably inferred.
First fandom you wrote for?
Sailor Moon
Favourite fic you’ve written?
I can't really decide between "To Be By Your Side" (Sailor Moon, Chibi-Usa/Helios) or the "It's Complicated" series (Yuri!!! on Ice, which features Ace!Yuri and Otabek in a queerplatonic relationship and Otabek/Mila in a sexual, romantic relationship, resulting in my favorite OT3.)
I'm not going to tag anybody, but feel free to do this if you want!

20 Questions For Fic Writers
Tagged by @probablynottola
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
5 - 3 of which are ones I brought over from ff.net when I started writing on AO3 last year.
2. What's your total AO3 word count?
~ 16,700. That's... more than I thought.
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Ted Lasso is my current fandom and the one that's re-ignited my desire to write fic. The last time I wrote fic was for Glee a literal decade ago
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Given that I only have 5 total, I'll just share the one with the most kudos which is When One Door Closes because I posted that one while series 3 was still airing.
5. Do you respond to comments?
Yes, absolutely.
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
I can't remember if they had angst-y endings specifically but some of the drabbles in the Jay Brannan-inspired Klaine collection are the closest I've got to writing angst.
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Both of my Ted Lasso fics are happy rom-coms, I can't choose between them!
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Nope, not experienced that, thank goodness
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Not yet, and I'm not sure if I will. I am working on a more NSFW fic currently (affectionally referred to as the 'dick pic penpals' fic so far) so I'll see where that goes!
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
Nope
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Nope
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Nope
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
No, that's an interesting idea though!
14. What’s your all time favorite ship?
At the moment, for writing, my default is TedTrent. In general, I tend to be a multi-shipper in fandoms so I do wonder if I'll end up writing anything else.
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
There was a conversation in the discord a few months ago that sparked the idea of a mythological pirate story where Trent was convinced of the existence of mythological creatures but no-one believed him until he met Captain Lasso and his pirate crew and runs away with them.
I dont think I'm good enough yet at writing plot stuff to get very far with that one but it's a good idea.
16. What are your writing strengths?
I like writing dialogue - if I know the character well enough I can almost hear some of the lines in their voice which helps. Stream of consciousness/train of thought bits as well.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Writing actual plot events. What do you mean stuff has to actually happen and I have to describe how it looks?
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
I've not had to do it yet. I've read a lot of Check Please fic though which often has bits of Quebecois in where you can google translate it or get the gist from context as you read through.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
My first fic was a Doctor Who one with a companion who was basically my self-insert. I was like 17 when I wrote it and I did put it on ff.net a few years later because it wasn't totally awful.
20. Favourite fic you’ve written?
I really like my last one, Something's Brewing, because I wrote it mostly to indulge myself. I also really enjoyed writing a 5+1 fic for the first time.

20 Questions for Writers
Tagged by the lovely @thequeenofthewinter to answer some questions, and I will leave an open tag to anyone who wants to answer to feel free to say that I tagged them 💛
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
I have three, at present - I have posted many a fic to AO3 over the years, but with my current account, just three.
2. What's your total AO3 word count?
70,506 at present
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Elder Scrolls at present, though only have Skyrim posted at present - hoping to get something for Oblivion posted soon though! I've also recently dabbled in writing some things for BG3, and also Stardew Valley (though I don't think that any of them will be posted unless I find myself very satisfied with how they end up). Historically, I've delved into and posted Fire Emblem (primarily Awakening/Fates/Three Houses because they were the main games I had played), and even further back (back when I first started writing fanfic when I was about 12/13! I just realised I've been writing fanfic for half my life writing that out!) Pokemon.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
As I only have three fics posted on AO3, I can only do them, but in order: 1. The Perfect Storm (it's my main and longest fic to date, so unsurprising) with 117 kudos 2. Purity (a Vilkas/Dragonborn oneshot) with 17 kudos 3. Seeking the Sun (prequel to The Perfect Storm which I started on after it!) with a mere 2 kudos.
5. Do you respond to comments?
Where I can string together a coherent thought, and if I remember (and I am terrible at remembering!) I try to!! But I do read every single one, even if I don't remember to respond.
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Now, as I haven't finished any fics (as of yet) beyond a few oneshots, I will have to base my answer on some plans for the few fics which I have planned out, and I believe that the story with my Hero of Kvatch Aelia is most likely to have the angstiest ending. She throws away her entire support network, including friends and family, to wallow in her misery and grief in the Shivering Isles, descending into madness, because all she wants to do is bring Martin back.
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
I really want it to be The Perfect Storm! I haven't planned out the ending for it yet, but I want it to be happy. However, I shall delight in stirring the pot and make Elyse and Balgruuf work for that happy ending, you hear? 😂
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Not really? The closest thing to that which I got was being told that my writing was 'too dramatic'... Shame that I love writing me some drama. Dramatics can be taken from my cold, dead hands.
9. Do you write smut?
Yeah, though I don't think that I've posted any of it yet.... I still need to actually finish the smut which I was writing for my birthday. My birthday which was over a month ago. Ooops.
10. Do you write crossovers?
Nope. I just don't really like them. It's something I've always got to filter out when reading fics.... The closest I'd get to writing a crossover is, say, references to stuff from Oblivion in a Skyrim fic? But would that technically even be a crossover, if they're both Elder Scrolls? Though they are separate games....
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I know of.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Again, no, not that I know of...
13. Have you ever co-written a fic?
Does it count if I tried co-writing a Pokemon Mystery Dungeon fic with a self-insert shiny Eevee with a ff.net friend when I was like 13 that we never posted???? If not, no!
15. What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
Honestly... I think it might be the fic based around Elyse's parents, Ingja and Edwyn, which I've only posted the first chapter to here on Tumblr. I know their story - it's all very firmly in my head, and is set to be referred to across Seeking the Sun and The Perfect Storm, but I simply don't think that I would be able to finish it... Plus I like keeping Edwyn's fate very vague. Though Ingja dies, because Elyse will meet her in Sovngarde when she goes to fight Alduin, what happens to Edwyn I've left ambiguous, hence why I don't think I would be able to finish it. He simply leaves one day and after sending Elyse a handful of letters he disappears. It gives me opportunity to maybe bring him in at some point down the line in The Perfect Storm... I kinda want to write a scenario where Balgruuf meets Edwyn now. Damn.
16. What are your writing strengths?
I'd like to say dialogue. I don't like putting dialogue into a fic unless I can mentally hear the line in the character's voice, if that makes any sense? If I can't hear it, or can't imagine a character saying it, I won't include it. But in addition to that, a lot of my scene-building and whatnot comes from using dialogue as a baseline. Obviously there are times where that isn't the case, but I do love writing little conversations to push a scene along.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
I do believe that just as it is a strength, dialogue is also a weakness! Sometimes, I find myself over-relying on dialogue simply to 'fill space'. Where something like non-verbal communication, or environmental descriptions or even a change of scene would fit better, I'll just throw in some dialogue in the same way that I add cheese to meals - in overabundance! In addition, I would say that finding a way to bridge scenes together is another weakness of mine. I can have a chapter mostly complete, but without that one last bridging moment - often simply a sentence or paragraph or two which can join two scenes together - I simply cannot bring myself into completing it.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue on another language in a fic?
Now, in terms of reading it, I find it really cool as long as some sort of way to translate it is available! In that vein, I do sometimes use some of the dragon language in my fics - mostly when a dragonborn is communicating with Paarthurnax or Odahviing - and I'll have a full list of translations to include in the end notes. On that note, I swear that I have https://www.thuum.org/ open in a separate tab almost constantly when I'm writing just in case!!! I've always found that most useful when trying to include the dragon language.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
That'd probably have to be for Pokemon Ranger Guardian Signs, though none of those fics were ever typed up (I think???). I still remember excitedly pulling the odd page from school exercise books to staple together whilst scavenging for pens to write me some more Pokemon Ranger fanfic.......
20. Favourite fic you've written?
The Perfect Storm, absolutely. Though I do sometimes think of going back to work on/improve some of my earlier chapters in the fic, in particular surrounding Elyse's experience in Windhelm because I'm not as in love with that as I once was. My love for Balgruuf (and Elyse, and the two of them together!) fuels my love, favouritism, and bias towards the fic.

Alright! That's the first time I send an ask message to someone I don't know and probably the last one (because, honestly, is kinda scary) but listen, baby, you had NOT the right to make me addicted to a fic where the mass-murderer-nightmare-of-the-south Major Jasper Whitlock is a whole ass baby daddy!!!! Seriously, I'd never imagine I'd read something like that and LOVE IT??? I mean, I could picture Alice being a mom in some aus, since her character seems to be very attached to the idea of having a family, but Jasper???? The one who killed a thousand of vampires and non-vampires with no mercy???? I have only one thing to say: I need more.
There is no way you're as scared of me as I am of you. I think we should just agree to be scared together.
Anon, THANK YOU for your message. All my messages mean so much to me, and to know that I've written something that you didn't expect to love? Ugh, made my day. My week.
The thing about babyverse is that I smashed out like 8k words of it during a Bad Time; I was having some kind of mental breakdown and writing the OG version was my way of mainlining a carton of ice cream and a bucket of fries to cope with my woes. I actually fucking hate baby fics because Jasper and Alice are not parents. Every single baby-related fic that I read on FF.Net pissed me off. But my brain ran away with me and then I decided to riff on the concept and we ended up with five or six variations on a theme, one of which you guys *love*.
I think the thing that is important to remember about Jasper is that he is an ice-cold killer, one of the most dangerous vampires on the continent with a strong reputation even though he walked away over *eighty* years ago.
In Hybrid-verse, this means there are people in the known that lie away at night wondering exactly what happened to Maria's Major because his reappearance would be catastrophic. None of his past changes because he has a son and a partner; it arguably makes it worse. He still suffers from depression, he still has guilt and shame, and now he's somehow ended up with a mostly-human son to raise.
And the fact that he wasn't close to his father, and has vague memories of Civil Era parenthood has him crazy unprepared for being a dad (he is totally stunned the first time Alice just casually breastfeeds Ollie in front of him one night; she teases him mercilessly that they can have sex and have a kid, but breastfeeding shocks him.)
As for Alice, she's just always an agent of chaos. I have a very, very hard time imagining her as a mother - baby-verse and the AH tattoo fic are the only two I ever bothered attempting that (and tattoo-verse is kind of a riff on a lot of the AH fics written in '05, so it doesn't really count.) Alice is always going to be authentically herself, and being a mother doesn't change her. Ollie is just the best-dressed kid in the room.
So have a little snippet of the OG, Official (if there ever is such a thing) Babyverse
“Oh my god, Jasper.”
I gaped at him as Ollie babbled at me, his chubby hands patting at my cheeks.
It had been two months since the Cullens had arrived back in Forks, since Jasper had come home to me - and to Ollie. It had gone by faster than I thought possible, honestly.
Edward and Bella had decided to get married in the last weeks of August - the plan was the wedding, a quick honeymoon somewhere in South America (a surprise for Bella, apparently), and home just in time to start freshman year at Dartmouth. Well, ‘home’ would be the house that Esme had picked out in New Hampshire. I didn’t know if they were even planning to come back to Forks after the wedding.
It felt like a strange and rushed choice after being apart for a year, but I had congratulated them and was pitching in with the wedding planning. They were happy about it, and that was the most important thing.
My own college plans were a lot more diaphanous than Bella and Edward’s, and I was mostly content just to work out my new normal with my son and my quasi-boyfriend. The summer wasn’t over yet, and I knew I’d have to have a few hard conversations before it was over - mostly that if the Cullens wanted to go to New Hampshire and play college students, I would be staying here in Forks with my family - Simon had suggested taking a bunch of community college credits online to stretch my college fund a little further and to keep me close to home for a while.
Adjusting Ollie on my hip, I gave Jasper a Look, as he tried not to meet my gaze. Since we’ve gotten home, he’d been… well, amazing. No one had ever taken co-parenting as seriously as Jasper was, and I had never seen as many parenting books as Jasper had somehow collected that first week. The Cullen house suddenly boasted an unnecessary amount of baby paraphernalia (right down to the framed photographs that Esme had asked Dad and I for - I had been mildly horrified to see my first photo with Ollie framed on the upstairs console table; my sweaty, disorientated, and white as a ghost face with Ollie on my chest immortalised next to Rose and Emmett in a Venetian gondola had really done a number on my self esteem.)
But Jasper had give me an insane amount of things since he’d gotten home. First it had been a new baby swing when mine ended up dying spectacularly. Then - when Esme found out that Ollie was an unenthusiastic sleeper at the best of times - there had been an insanely expensive cot that was meant to encourage him to sleep. Then there were books and toys - most of them under the guise of bonding with him. And then a second set of everything at the Cullens because Jasper didn’t want me lugging so many things with me every time we came over.
(Rosalie had - with all the subtly of an infomercial - asked me if I preferred bracelets or rings, and I had had to squash the idea of any kind of jewellery as a gift. Both of the Cullen women had grown up in an age where the birth of a healthy son and heir would have come with a sparkly piece of jewellery and I thought that was so gross. Jasper had listened to me rant for nearly fifteen minutes, bewildered, after Rosalie and Esme had been insisting he had to gift me some kind of diamond for Ollie - preferably in blue - for weeks. Cynthia had thought I was insane to refuse. The first and only gem I would accept from Jasper would be an engagement ring - when we were ready.)
And now, there was the latest - and most expensive - of his gifts.
“You bought me a car?” I said dumbly.
The blue SUV parked out the front looked perfectly normal; shiny and new but not out of place. It was no Mercedes Guardian or Aston Martin or whatever BMW Rose was driving. And I kind of liked that - no one would give it a second look in Forks.
The thing was, a car had been a much contested item in my family - the ancient little car Cynthia and I had been sharing had finally crapped out beyond repair and we had ended up pooling our savings to save for a new one. We were about three thousand dollars off something decent - Dad and Simon were vetoing anything that they didn’t deem safe enough. Simon and Dad were generous enough to occasionally loan me one of their cars, and Jasper had been more than willing to chauffeur me around.
Until now.
“I know you and Cynthia were saving for one,” Jasper began, reaching out to tuck one of Ollie’s curls out of his eyes. I was putting off getting his hair cut because his messy hair was too cute to lose. “But I was thinking…”
“Jas.”
“Cynthia has so many co-curriculars, and spends so much time on the Res that it felt like you’d be spending a lot of time in the car - or not getting to use it as much.”
I was still giving him a Look as Ollie had moved on to grasping at my necklace, fascinated.
“…I wanted to make sure you were safe,” Jasper said finally. “Rose helped me pick it out - and the carseat. Both have the best safety ratings on the market.”
Walking closer, I could see the carseat already fitted in the backseat. It was, frankly, perfect. I was concerned about the qualifier ‘on the market’ - I wouldn’t put it past Jasper to try and get some kind of unreleased bomb-resistant baby carseat.
“The car or the carseat?” I asked, looking back at him - he was finally looking a little bit guilty.
“What?”
“Which is the safest you could find - the car or the carseat?”
“Both.” Jasper looked at me and offered out the keys. Ollie reached out for them with a squeal of delight. “Let me do this for my family, Alice. I want to make sure you have what you need.”
It was hard to argue with him when he called us his family. It always made me melt a little, that he thought of us that way. I had had to squash more than one of his old-fashioned ideas of babies and parenting over the last two months, but his staunch determination to take care of us always made me give in.
The car was staying. I didn’t have it in me to argue when he was looking at me with that oddly hopeful gaze. And he wasn’t wrong - I did need a car, I wanted it to be a good and safe one, and it wasn’t like he’d gone out and gotten me something ultra expensive…
“HE BOUGHT YOU A CAR?”
The front door banged, Cynthia bolted onto the street, her eyes huge and her hands on her hips.
“All your brothers are married, right Jasper?” She asked before darting over to the car to inspect it.
“Nearly.” Jasper was trying very hard not to laugh; he really did get a kick out of Cynthia’s Teenage Drama Queen brand of dramatics.
“I am doomed to forever have to work for my money,” Cynthia sighed, pulling back and looking over at us. She’d gotten a job at Forks’ bakery slash ice cream slash coffee shop and had spent the last month acting like she was being forced to work in the mines in the dead of winter. It was eternally entertaining, and she was keeping the house supplied in free pastries, ice cream, and bread. “Give the baby to Jasper, Alice.”
I looked over and Jasper looked so hopeful, his hands already twitching.
“He always just stands there with this half sad-puppy, half-hopeful look that you’ll read his mind,” Cynthia said bossily. “Every single time, you wait for her to offer. Just take him - I do.”
Ollie let out a crow of delight as Jasper took him, babbling happily and waving my new car keys in one hand. Jasper had a look of such tenderness on his face that I felt bad he thought that I had some kind of ownership over the child we shared. That he felt he couldn’t just ask to hold Ollie.
“Hello Oliver,” he said, holding him so carefully. “Are you being good for your mother?” He got a spit-bubble reply; it had only taken two months for Ollie to recognise that Jasper was one of his people.
“You can ask me for the baby, Jas,” I said softly, leaning against his other side; his arm wrapping around my shoulders automatically. “You can hold your son, you don’t need my permission.”
“I don’t like to upset him; he’s always so happy with you,” Jasper murmured, nodding as Ollie brandished the keys at him importantly.
I rolled my eyes fondly. Ollie was happy when Jasper held him. Our son had taken like a duck to water at the sudden reintroduction of the Cullens to our lives; Esme was good for cuddles, Emmett was the one that would give me a heart attack by tossing him in the air and swooping him around until Ollie was red in the face and laughing, and Rosalie was someone that he was entranced with - something about the way that she was with him made Ollie go all soft and angelic when he was with her. Little ratbag had Auntie Rose wrapped around his little finger - probably why she had helped Jasper with the car.
Ollie still held a grudge against Carlisle for giving him his shots last month, hiding his face every time he saw him. Edward and Bella were terribly awkward around Ollie, but kind to him. Ollie adored Edward playing the piano, and every time Edward had played for him, he had been transfixed.
Whilst Jasper might have been one of Ollie’s people, he was only just grasping the concept of ‘Daddy’ and Jasper being one and the same. We would get there eventually. He was only a baby.
“Thank you for the car,” I said softly. “You didn’t have to, but I love it.”
“You do?” Jasper adjusted his grip on Ollie, before pulling me closer.
“I do. But you don’t need to buy me or Ollie all these things.”
He really didn’t. About two weeks after he got back, Cynthia had read him the riot act and pointed out that since he didn’t sleep, he could be pulling the nightshift, and maybe slip me the occasional twenty so I could buy diapers. That had resulted in him giving me a credit card, the acquisition of the sleep-training cot, and him literally expecting to sit in the tree outside my bedroom and watch over me and Ollie. He’d been surprised when I’d given him a set of house-keys, and allowed him to bring books and a laptop over so he didn’t have to actually watch us sleep. More than one night, he’d ended up in the living room giving Ollie a bottle and reading him back to sleep. There was nothing cuter than going downstairs in the morning to find Ollie passed out asleep on Jasper’s chest, as Jasper read some heavy book over his head.
“I want to. I love you both so, so much. This is nothing, Alice. This is just a car,” he said softly.
“Can you two kiss so we can go inside and I can make Dad and Pa feel bad for me?” Cynthia called and I started laughing, Ollie cooing at us before giggling along with me.
The rest of the Cullens had given no indication whether or not they would be relocating to New Hampshire any time soon, and I hadn’t asked because it wasn’t a conversation I wished to have: I was staying in Forks with my family and my son for the foreseeable future, and no amount of bribery would make me budge.
Not that Jasper would even try, I knew that. We had talked in through and he understood that I wanted this time with my father and with Simon and with Cynthia.
Jasper had been spending every spare moment with us, and desperately compensating for leaving me; I knew that Carlisle and Esme had given my parents half of the cost of my medical care for the pregnancy (which neither of my parents wanted to accept until I pointed out that the financial hit would affect Cynthia’s college options, not to mention finishing the house renovation. It might have been loose change to the Cullens, but that money made a difference to us.)

Tag Game To Better Know You! Send this to people you'd like to know better!
thank you for the tag @knivesofwater <3 i always enjoy tag games :D
what book are you currently reading?
emma by jane austen, i bought the book like 2 summers ago but never finished it, i found it boring at the time :P now i find it more interesting, i've barely started it though.
what do you usually wear?
i have two sides, cutesy femme lesbian that wears pink flowery dresses and all the jewelry she owns, or jock dyke that wear sports bras and shorts everywhere. depends on the day or where i'm going.
how tall are you?
height is a social construct (< is 1.53)
what’s your star sign? do you share a birthday with a celebrity or historical event?
i'm a gemini! and yes, i share my birthday with manchester united women, since the women's side was re-launched on the same day as my birthday (but we don't share birth year)
do you go by your name or a nickname?
everyone just calls me zyan, only my parents call me by my full name - and my friend marjorie when she's upset about my fic decisions, but other than that she usually calls me baby z or zyanny.
did you grow up to become what you wanted to be as a child?
well, i didn't marry a handsome prince at 16 or became a veterinarian, so nope. but i still write stories, and 7 year old me would be glad to know we still write stories about fairies.
are you in a relationship? If not, who is your crush if you have one?
nope, but i'm head over heels for a girl from college, and sometimes i think she may like me too but i'm probably just misinterpreting things.
what’s something you’re good at vs something you’re bad at?
i'm really good at writing! i take pride in this, one day i would like to be a serious published author with one of the big editorials in argentina. but on the other side, i'm really bad at doing push ups or frontal kicks - and i've been a kick boxer for 3 years now, but i still can't polish those things.
if you draw/write, or create in any way, what's your favorite picture/favorite line/favorite etc. from something you created this year?
this line from obsesionario, chapter 2:
Dani smiles, a warm feeling spreading on his chest when he thinks of Jamie. “I believe in him too, coach,” he says, genuine. It doesn’t matter that he’s known Jamie for a couple hours, or that he’s tried to get rid of the cosmic ties that bind them together before, Dani will always be on Jamie’s side, even if he doesn’t want him to be.
and this paragraph from tierra y sol:
He will never admit it out loud, but at this point the bar is an extension of himself. He knows it like the back of his hand and in turn, it knows him. He doesn’t hit his head with the annoying starfish decorations Sarita put up, his hand knows exactly where not to touch the wooden surface lest he’ll get splinters, his eyes don’t roam around the cabinet looking for some specific bottle because his gut knows it’ll be on the top left corner – the bar is more his than the hotel’s.
i really like the tierra y sol one because i've been experimenting with this way of writing characters - their actions and behaviors define their personalities more than the words they say can, and i think it makes them infinitely more human than detailed descriptions of their lives can. (sorry for the rant, the letras student in me comes out when talking about writing lol)
what’s something you’re currently obsessed with?
king of fighters! remember the arcade games you spent the change from the groceries your mom sent you to buy? those. i'm obsessed with the 2001 game, i've been playing it for a couple days now, my favorite characters are four and i've been writing some fics about them in my ff.net. if anyone's interested, my account is dollalpaca.
what’s a hidden talent of yours?
i can be really quiet when i need to be, so i'm a master at spooking my friends or leaving without being noticed. works perfectly for social gatherings i'm forced to attend lol.
what's something you wish to have at this moment?
this really cute pink holographic dress i saw the other day while buying a christmas gift for my mom, but alas i had to buy my mom's gift, i didn't have enough money for two items.
gonna tag some wc and newer mutuals too so hi @dykecotomia @astillaz @korderoatado @jonascarp912 @onlynaturaltohardenup @milfgeto @butchclericbeast do this if you'd like, if not no problem <3

lost florelia fic
i think around a decade ago, i read this one florelia fic that imprinted itself into my mind not unlike any of the childhood novels that have stuck with me throughout the years. it was on ff.net and i remember the author had seemingly drawn the covers themself. they had a princess and the pauper au of stella and flora, i believe, but the fic that stood out to me was one that was canon-divergent.
it was an au where flora was valtor’s (spelled baltor in the fic) daughter who had never been raised on lynphea at all. she grew up around the trix as the fairy of blood, and was being sent as a spy to alfea with fake nature powers and a fake sweet persona.
i don’t remember the fic’s exact title or the author’s exact username. i just remember that the title was something along the lines of “you shouldn’t have trusted me...” -- or something with an ellipses at the end. the author’s name started with a k, i believe, and perhaps also involved the letters “u,” “o,” “i,” and “p.”
i once revisited this fic years down the line and reread the entire thing, so now i’m pretty sure i could recount the entire story beat-for-beat with some random minute details. when i tried to find it again more recently, nothing came up. i tried to search around the fic, looking up random key details or even other stories i remembered the author published--and nothing. so i’m pretty sure it’s been scrubbed from the internet.
i’m still a little bit sad over it. i wish i was able to save a copy of the fic somewhere because of how much it impacted me. in hindsight, it definitely wasn’t the most well-written fic out there, but it still meant a lot to me.
i think someday soon i might publish a fic in homage to it. for now, all i have are my memories.

21 Fanfiction Author Questions
Saw this floating about and decided to give it a go!
♡ How many works do you have on ao3?
26, but all about the fanfiction space, I have more than that.
♡ What’s your total word count?
1,110,855 for some unholy reason. XD;
♡ How many fandoms have you written for and what are they?
Well, I've written for more than just what's on AO3, so I'll list them.
Ronin Warriors YuYu Hakusho Yu-Gi-Oh Sonic the Hedgehog (yes lol) Assassin's Creed (better known for Syndicate though) Final Fantasy XV Final Fantasy VII Overlord (Anime) Original Teratophilia/Exophilia content
♡ What are your top five fics by kudos?
The Devil's Contract - 854 The Demon King of the Desert - 775 A Love Most Profound - 767 As You Wish, My Lady - 338 The Tome of Ashurbanipal - 319
♡ Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Yes, mainly because I want people to know I appreciate them taking a second out of their day to support me and tell me what they enjoyed, are looking forward to, ect about the story they read or are reading. I sometimes have to use a translator, and I love that. I love knowing people from all over are still reading my stuff.
♡ What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?
I deleted it but it was called The Dove Effect. It was set in Victorian London where the reader fell ill to Tuberculosis / Consumption Disease. Her partner had to watch as she suffered in a hospital, leaving him with little he could do to save her. Risking it, he kissed her and still kept her close only to get sick in return and die before her. She suffered of heartbreak, finally dying sometime after, not of the disease, but of her broken heart; thus the story's name, as doves usually die without their soulmate.
♡ What’s the fic you’ve written with the happiest ending?
Any and all of them, depending on how you wanna look at it. XD;
But seriously, I do try to give a lot of my fics happy endings.
♡ Do you write crossovers? If yes, what’s the craziest thing you’ve ever written.
I used to, mainly because of how my character, Oreana, works. Sadly, a majority of those aren't for viewing pleasure, as they are very cringy. Too cringy for me to let them be seen.
There was a very old crossover I wrote years ago in my late teens that I tore down. I forgot what it was called, but a lot of the anime and video game protagonists I had come to love were brought to life by scientific means in the current day. A catastrophic event occurred, causing all of them and a few humans who lived through it, to be located underground in an endless maze of rooms and the like. I think Kenshin and Vash were the 'leaders' of the many.
♡ Have you ever received hate on a fic?
HAH...yes...yes, I have. The recent ones were from a previous stalker, but there was one in particular that was interesting to me. It was someone who left a crummy comment on Contract, so I reported it as spam as the admins suggest you do with anon hate. A few weeks later, they reviewed Tome chapter 1 and apologized. I did appreciate it, as it's very rare anons will do that.
There was a time way back in my FF.net days where I had someone constantly harassing me through my YYH fanfics to where I had to tell people to not respond to them. I even had to shut off anons to where the person made an account just to DM me 2—yes—2 different DMs to tell me in lengthy detail how much I suck and why. I knew what it was, didn't read it and let it sit there for about a month before bothering. When I did, the tl;dr of it was to say they and their friend wanted to be my friend but hated how I acted at times and how disturbing my content was on another site. Lol They made an account, my dears, just for that... lol. And not another peep was had afterwards.
♡ Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
I think that's all I'm known for, requested, commissioned to do, so yes. X”D
What kind? Errr...I mean, I prefer there to be plot with my crazy fuckin', but I don't mind pure on kinky goodness without reason. Just rare I write that unless requested.
♡ Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Yup. The Worthless Humans. It was stolen word for word and posted on Fanfiction.net sometime after they BANNED NSFW fics...so...yeah. I think you can easily read through my AdultFanfiction.net (at the time—it's now .org) reviews and one of my reviewers is like 'hey, just curious if you posted this on FF.net...? because it's on there...' Here it is. Found it:
Tumblr media
I had to confront the person who was claiming their friend wrote the story and told them to post it. Enough complaints were filed anyways, and it was torn down because it violated the major TOS of no NSFW stories.
What's funny is...about a year later (I think) that Yoko person apologized for the misunderstanding. She explained that a person who was her friend at the time claimed to be the writer and gave her the go ahead to post it on FF.net. The sad part is... I think I know the person Yoko was mentioning, as that person tried to be my friend too and would send me stolen artwork from YYH artists I followed claiming to be the artist and that it was a gift to me. lol
♡ Have you ever had a fic translated?
No, but I've had many people asking if they can! (1) (2) to show a few.
For future reference: I really don't mind if people do translate my works. I just ask to be known as the author, linked back to and notified. Not just for the obvious, but so I can link the translated work in case other people read mainly in that language.
♡ Have you ever co-written a fic?
Oh goodness, decades ago it feels. Both with ex-girlfriends. LOL Those fics are gone now, of course.
♡ What’s your all-time favorite ship?
Oreana with any of my hyper fixations...? lol
I mean, right now it's: Oreana/Demiurge Demiurge/Jaldabaoth Demiurge/Reader of some variant Demiurge/ Albedo/ Fem!Reader Demiurge/ Jaldabaoth/ Reader (could be M/F) Link/Midna Link/Zelda Zelda/Midna Ignis/Noctis
♡ What’s a WIP you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?
The Bride of the Four Horsemen. Very sorry, loves. ;~; I've tried and failed... lol
♡ What are your writing strengths?
Pft, heck if I know. Does anybody know my strengths? I will say one of my lovelies from France told me that, whether people commission me or request a story from me, I always seem to write something that hits their emotions just right—that something I wrote resonates with them, making the piece all the more personal. So maybe that?
♡ What are your writing weaknesses?
Not knowing when to let the reader breathe... Attaching too many sentences together. I am getting better at that. I swear. Lol
♡ What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in fic?
I refuse to do it now unless I have the source nearby. I just don't trust google translator.
♡ What was the first fandom you ever wrote for?
Ronin Warriors. Those fics are gone to the abyss, so I doubt you'll ever read them. They're protected on my PC only.
♡ What was the first fic you've written? (Extra question)
Actually...if you're talking about any fanfic, that would be a mega old Mighty Ducks Animated Series one I wrote offline when I was in 5th grade. Sadly, don't remember the year. Somewhere in the 90s maybe??
♡ What’s your favorite fic you’ve ever written?
So far, The Demon King of the Desert. It's been a nice escape from some stuff, and it has helped me—in its own way—to show that you need to let go and enjoy the small, happy moments, for they are fleeting.

For the fic reader ask game <3
👩‍❤️‍💋‍👩 (wlw) & 👶 (first fic) & 🥣 (worst trope)
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Okay okay okay I am calm I am CALM-
👩‍❤️‍👩 Favorite wlw ship to read about?
OKAY SO I'VE BEEN ALL JITTERY THIS WHOLE DAY BCS OF THIS ASK cause I wanted to answer this as soon as possible, but I have to finish my shift first, BUT LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT THE FIRST PAIRING THAT CAME UP IN MIND A COUPLE OF HOURS AGO THAT MADE ME CHOKE ON SPIT LAUGHING.
Although I still don't have the time and focus to continue Jessica Jones, I watched like 2 (or 3? can't remember) episodes and I immediately got HOOKED by the dynamics between Jessica and Trish. Yes. That Trish Walker, she's so lovely and badass and I just thought she complements Jessica best.
I DIDN'T KNOW THAT APPARENTLY THEY'RE ADOPTIVE SISTERS??? I ACTUALLY DIDN'T, UNTIL I SEARCHED THEM ON AO3.
That explains why in AO3 there's little-to-none slash fics of them LMAOOOO
👶🏻 First fic you remember reading?
OH. OH I actually thought it's my best friend's EXO fic back in ff.net, but NO. WRONG!
It's actually this Super Junior's fanfiction made by a local author back in... 2008 - 2010, I think? It's called "The Red Rose".
I'm afraid to look it up again just for the sake of getting the link and insert it here, cause the last time, iirc, the completed series got deleted by the author but people who've downloaded it spread it scattered all over many websites in the internet. The genres are pretty much about supernatural or super power thing. I remember blood, and a bit of tension? Oh, and action, obviously. There's also a love story and I couldn't stop talking about it with my best friend for like months, maybe even years.
🥣 Least favorite fic trope?
OHOHOH, BOY WHERE DO I START.
I have several, actually, but let's just chill here. I never fucked with noncon / dubcon and the likes stuff in the first place anyways so there's that. I think the most general trope that some might know that kind of irks me is the one where the character ended up forgiving whoever the hell have been hurting them for YEARS in the end with no reason at all. Like? Dude I have almost zero patient on forgiving them for you, my dude, they've been abusing you and neglecting you because they CHOSE that way. FOR YEARS, even! Fuckin dumbass. If they die just to repent and think it'll make it all up in the end they're dead wrong.
Okay, the last one might be a bit too personal to me, but whatever.
IT'S BEEN DELIGHTFUL! Thank you so much for indulging me, king 💖🥰✨

1, 4, 6, 12 and 13 (for the fanfiction asks!)
(From the "fanfiction asks")
What made you start writing fanfic? Let's see...I remember I was pretty young when I started reading fanfics, including through people's own personal sites outside of ff.net and DeviantArt and thought how neat it was that these people were writing their own stories about characters I knew and loved. Bonus addition to this: What finally made me start writing was reading these old and incredibly ooc D/BZ written by this really sweet person I remember commenting a few times. Last time I checked up on her (4 years ago?), she's still doing things including in that fandom :'B Another bonus!: My first "fanfic" was, of course, script-format since I didn't have a grip on writing traditional novel-style, and it was a PPG fanfic where Blossom and Brick got married despite the fact that I never cared for that ship? I vaguely remember that I noted in the fic that they married on a holiday so they didn't miss school or something...?
4. Do you think your style has changed over time? How so?  It's to be expected, the longer you write, but yeah I've noticed how my writing has changed -- and it's not good, to be honest.
An example is how I was re-reading an old, long VT fanfic I wrote a few years back. I was a lot more descriptive which in turn gave more of an atmosphere for the reader (well, I hope anyways ;; ) but I missed a couple of plotlines I had planned to add.
Compared to my more recent things, I feel like my writing is rambling on without giving much space for development and descriptions, if that makes sense? My only exception to my writing lacking is possibly a FNAF Security Breach story I wrapped up ("REC: Bonnie Bound"). I think the reasoning is that: 1) I took several breaks from writing due to lack of motivation 2) I've read some fanfics that just,,,use too many sophisticated words that the average person neither knows nor has used it in nearly 2 centuries and realized that I did not want to fall into that pitfall, so there's hesitation in what I write.
tldr; yes it has -- it's gotten worse instead of better.
6. Name three stories you found easy to write. 1) REC: Bonnie Bound - FNAF -- was I salty about Bonnie and Foxy not being in Security Breach? haha,,,goodness, no! It was, funny enough, going to be a short one-shot which evolved into a whopping 20k, 2 chapter fic. Safe to say I was inspired by something! 2) In Which Gynophoria Happens - Legend of Zelda Phantom Hourglass -- I love Linebeck and like every other Linebeck fan, I wanted to do more with his character after the end of PH. Oldie, but a goldie! 3) An Obligatory Starship Genius Epilogue Story - Ratboy Genius -- a fanfic for a semi-obscure fandom! The last time I wrote a RBG fic was around 5 years ago, and I definitely like this more than the previous one.
12. For E-rated fic, what are some things your characters keep doing? Uh...blink? Most of the stuff I write are slice-of-life-ish, so nothing too exciting ;;
13. Name three favorite characters to write. This one might be kinda hard, because I have a lot of fics still under "wip" so it's gonna be a difficult to notice just based on what I've uploaded at the moment...
Foxy -- he's kind of a dumbass but he's also a friend
Lady Parsec -- I'm still getting the hang of how I want to portray Her, but from what I've written so far, She's a bit of a "sneaky sneak" with a slight sarcastic tone, She's a mystery about what She is and where She's from~
Linebeck -- he's Linebeck
