“I’m here to help!” Hardcase announced his arrival to you when he was at your elbow, making you jump. His sudden appearance is the only surprise. He had come at every opportunity since the first time he had been assigned to assist in cargo. You suspected him of trading other duties and knew he was volunteering during his down hours. The longer it had gone on you became more sure that this wasn’t a passing interest that many of the troopers had shown.

“Sorry! Didn’t mean to scare you,mesh’la,” he says.

“It’s okay, I was about to go to lunch,” You say, knowing he is here on his free time right now. “Would you like to join me?”

That took him by surprise and he stammers, “Yeah, yeah that would be nice.” Then he pauses and rubs the back of his neck, “Can I um talk to you first?”

“Yes?” You ask, smiling up at him innocently. You were sure now, but were going to mess with him just a little bit.

His eyes dart around the huge open cargo bay. “Somewhere else?” he asks, a tone of desperation in his voice.

“My office?” you suggest. And then without waiting for an answer, lead the way to the tiny closet of an office where you did formwork. It wasn’t much bigger than could hold your desk and chair.

Once inside you could see he was much more agitated. “I wanted to tell, I mean ask,” he begins, “I… you…I should be better at this,”

You decide to put him out of his misery and step closer and kiss his bottom lip lightly as you slide your hands over his shoulders.

With a small gasp he says, "So, does this mean you feel the same way, or ..."

You pull him down towards you and interrupt him again, kissing him more intensely. Only interrupted this time by his grin. “Yes,” you murmur against that grin. “Now kiss me like you mean it,”

“Ma’am, yes, ma’am,” he responded with a chuckle, as he pulled you closer to do as you demanded.
