Getting pulled into Ace Attorney so new au.
-
Kazuki was a lawyer and killed by Giovanni, leaving Hibiki and Ken as suspects.
Red is an ex lawyer, and Blue is an ex prosecutor. Still trying to figure out everything else along with Leaf's role and a future role for Blue.
Hibiki is a lawyer who trained with his father, wanting to be like him, and gets mentored by Red after Kazuki died. Ken is just trying to be a baker or electrician but gets accused of murder.
Silver and Galena were forced to be prosecutors by Giovanni and went with it to be better than him. Silver takes the role of defense when Hibiki is unable to, and with his sister, they land Giovanni in jail. Galena also raised Silver, so he's nicer but still very sassy.
Lyra and Krystal are spirit mediums and have the unfortunate fate of Dolos being their brother in this au. Dolos gets his ass landed in prison, too. Yes, this means Ken ate glass here.

The plot is different but still very alike to that in Ace Attorney. The differences come from the character's personalities and roles not quite matching those in the games to a T.
Silver and Hibiki are childhood friends, too. They met during one of the times Silver and Galena sneaked out of the house. Can't have gay lawyer au without gay lawyers.

Lookback on this blog, and some talks about the Spaceworld ‘99 build I didn’t talk about back in 2020
I know I’ve been absent since 2019. My apologies! Will I ever get back to this fully? Who knows, but if I stumble on stuff, or feel like filling up the queue, I just might.
We’ve had this beta on our hands for 4 years now. How time flies eh? And we’ve had several other beta Pokémon news. In fact, we had a beta, in 2020 I’d say? Spaceworld ‘99 beta of Gold and Silver, with sprites in the style of the final game but with some Pokémons having totally different designs.
The most interesting sprites imo came from the Silver build
Pokémons like Furret, Ariados and Pichu weren’t there quite yet.
Some other Pokémons like Natu and Xatu kept a bit of that old Gen 1 look, with heavy uses of white.
Some pokémons HAD their final designs, but had totally different sprites with different poses that were scrapped.

Fankidtober 2023 Day 15 - Yumi
Karen and Will's daughter.
She's a Poison type Gym Leader for probably Cherrygrove (although I always waver on if it's Cherrygrove or Mahogany), meaning her and Chiyo probably have a bit of a rivalry on who's the better up-and-coming poison user in the Kanto/Johto area. My reasoning for switching her type speciality is while I can't recall if the Spaceworld Demo leaks definitely confirmed it or not, Karen's team in OG Gold/Silver makes it seem like she was likely meant to be a poison type trainer in earlier builds of the game, so I wanted to pay homage to that (the leaks at least confirm Dark type was added late enough in development Umbreon was originally a poison type soooo).
Yumi is close friends with Gunnar, who she enjoys teasing a lot. Might or might not make them a couple, but either way, in universe they give off will they won't vibes to everyone who knows them.

Hey guys! The point of this blog is to reblog as many pokémon fanarts as possible (my goal is to reblog them all, we'll see if that's possible haha) so they're all properly tagged and easily searchable here.
I'm just getting started so you might find some tags are still partially or totally empty, I hope you come along to see them grow!

merch fanmade - plushies, enamel pins, and other objects

by character
pokemon: just go to the search bar on the top part of the blog and search for your favorite pokemon! see pikachu, for example. regional variants are tagged like "alolan raichu", not "raichu", though they should show up on the search for "raichu".
human characters: same as pokemon, search them by their english name. for example: gladion. for professors you should search for "professor (name)", like "professor oak" and not just "oak". submas have their own tag for the both of them, but also individual tags for ingo and emmet.
original characters both human and pokemon
fakemon for fan made pokemon, and from there you can branch off to variants or fusions
betamon for beta pokemon (from the leaked betas, like the 1997 spaceworld gold/silver one, or the diamond/pearl one; or from official sources, like the latias+blaziken pokemon from the ruby/sapphire showcase). beta versions of pokemon that exist have their own tags, like "beta wooper" and not "wooper"
by game
just search for the game you're interested in. spin off sagas have only one tag (like mystery dungeon) and main series games that have two versions follow the most used order for them (like black and white).

beta pokémon
It would have given us one tailed baby vulpix and cute baby meowth and they TOOK IT AWAY FROM US. they probably thought they had plenty of baby pokemon as is, and redesigned some to better fit the pokemon evolution line.
Just Pokémon that were cut or reworked to be completely different. It was amazing when the demo leaked.

Kotora and Raitora
A round electric tiger that was so nice, they cut it twice. These two were first discovered in the leaked Spaceworld '97 demo of Gold and Silver, which is a vastly different game than Gold and Silver ended up being, but they also appeared in a leaked roster for the original games alongside a further, unnamed evolution. Reasons for why they were scrapped twice are unknown. Kotora and Raitora are the directly-translated names they had in the Spaceworld demo, while Tyker and Straiger are hypothetical localized names given by former series translator Nob Ogasawara in an interview for Did You Know Gaming.

the pokemon gold and silver spaceworld demo is so cool!! i once downloaded it for myself so i could use the debugging tools to check something i was super curious about and got this precious baby named kurusu as my starter:
but the thing i wanted to check is i wanted to visit kanto which at the time was basically going to just be one gigantic town with various regional landmarks in it. there's a gym there and i wanted to go to it to see who the gym leader was... turns out that rather than green (or blue, to use his english name), it's red. the text in the demo files indicates that green went on to help professor oak with his research instead. i think this is super neat because in pokemon adventures it's initally implied that red is going to take the vacant gym leader position left by giovanni but then green ends up doing it instead. and also because gary in the anime becomes a pokemon researcher.

accidentally got hooked on cassette beasts. i feel a little bad for comparing monster crown to it but its the last non-pokemon monster collection game i played and. wow! its Better
in that its actually finished!!!!!!!!!! and even though some of the overworld mechanics are a little clunky, none of them are remotely as rough as monster crown’s. i don’t feel like i could get softlocked at any moment, or have to worry about my game crashing and losing all of my progress. it doesn’t have as many monsters i guess? but i think that’s a good thing, because it means the ones they do have get nicely animated sprites and a lot more polish. and they still have like 44000 fusions that are generated from cobbling together monster names and sprite assets so like, if you like fusing things there’s that
anyway monster crown kind of has some fun like... ‘what if the pokemon gold/silver spaceworld demo were more finished’ energy, if you like exploring a game that DOES have its charms but can also feel a bit like wandering a buggy wasteland, lost and confused. but god. cassette beasts is like. an actual game that is ready to be sold. AND i really like the battle mechanics
