imagine price coming home at the same time as his ( extremely successful ) missus and leaning against the doorway to watch her undress in their walk-in closet. the mere sight of her under the gentle, orange glow of the lights, slightly bent over the table to take off her ( south sea, celine ) pearl earrings across the mirror enough to make him drop everything and just watch. silent, focused, entranced: price's eyes moved slowly, roaming down the bra and her sheer black pantyhose. when she stops at the realization of being watched, he only fondly tells her to continue, voice low and gruff — don't stop now, love.
imagine graves crossing his arms together and tilting his head to get a better view of his babygirl applying lipstick: laser-focused on how she rubs her lips together — rogue red (charlotte tilbury) staining the tip of her thumb as she swipes to fix it. graves only chuckles against her neck when she scolds him for ruining her hard work, his hands already hiking up her dress to palm her ass.
imagine soap melting against the soft and warm lap of his bonnie as she runs her hand across his hair, fingers grazing the scalp and turning his head into mush. his mind still heady from the lazy makeout session against the couch. she thanks him for taking her out on a pedicure, hands already trailing down his chest and down his abdomen to unbuckle his pants, eager to show him just how pretty her fingers look around his —
imagine gaz gawking at the set of wheels his love got him for his birthday, only recovering from the shock when she twiddled her fingers nervously, face crumbling at the thought of him disliking it. he immediately hopped behind the wheel to reassure her, fingers tentatively touching the leather interior. when the engine purred to life, he let out an excited cheer, eyes lighting up like a child’s on christmas. he can’t wait anymore, locking the door to push the passenger seat of his new aston martin v8 all the way to the backseat — pinning her under him, hands running down her sides. he wanted to thank his darling, in more ways than one. imagine alejandro having to yell at one of his men for jogging straight into a pole because he was distracted by his cariño — eyes in front, cabrón! she can't help but let out a bewildered laugh at his sudden outburst, running her hands down his shoulders to soothe his temper: reminding him that he's supposed to be lenient with rookies. flustered, alejandro had dragged her inside one of the tents, zipping the entrance up before trapping her against a table. she mentioned how silly it was for him to compliment her sundress only to rip it off. he says he’ll get her a new one.  imagine ghost pinning both her hands against the wall, a scowl under his balaclava as he snarls — you fucking brat. she lifts her chin in defiance to retort with a snarky comment. a moment later, she's weeping, sobbing, begging against his chest: three of his fingers barely pushing past her entrance. he stares at how her mascara stains her cheeks, lips trembling and legs shaking, clenching down his wrist as they try to balance themselves on sleek, black stilettos. not satisfied, he flips her so that she has her palms flat against the window ledge, ass bare for him to discipline some obedience into her.

a/n : i don’t know what would be a good title for this but these are just my midnight thoughts... i love the army couple trope , where reader fights side by side with the men, those are really chef’s kiss because it means the characters understand each other ( e.g : when it’s an afab! reader and it touches up on their struggles as a female officer in the army ) but i also need a benefactress or old money heiress or fashionable human rights lawyer or cia informant f!reader [ i used her instead of ‘you’ in the imagine above to test the waters but feel free to make it a self insert! ] who sucks with a gun in her hand but excels in other fields of counter-terrorism or even as a housewife/work wife/civilian. i know it sounds less realistic or even impossible, but to be fair, considering how military operations often need help from external divisions such as law, humanitarian aid, medicine, etc. it is more than possible + God forbid these women have military husbands who work covert and dangerous operations as if they also don't have hounds nipping their heels and praying on their downfall by playing dirty with the kind of money and information they carry. Although distinctly different, they can definitely relate to each other in more ways than one and maintain a form of mutual respect, understanding and even love.
( i just don't have the depth and writing skills to explain my thoughts and this very specific trope that itches my brain yet, but just wait babes i'll get back to my point in the future i swear 😭) additional hcs for imagine above : → i can see gaz as a long time james bond fan, so the car referenced was from the most recent bond movie starring daniel craig : no time to die  → i always see price and his dynamic with the missus ( wife ) as a george & amal clooney kind of vibe, except george in this case is jonathan and not an award winning silver fox but rather a medal decorated war hero silver fox. she would be a human rights lawyer ( and i’m sure she treats gaz like her own son and has met simon a few times due to how many missions he used to run with her husband back in the day ) → soap + a bimbo gf, he would adore her.... → graves wants to live that lana del rey national anthem life so bad it’s embarrassing ( me too ) where he owns a holiday home by the lake + he dreams of having a son when he retires so he can make him wear expensive khaki shorts and teach him how to fish ( highkey enjoys golf ) → alejandro falls victim to his girl showing up to base in a cute sundress only to find out she’s not wearing any underwear. he simultaneously loves and hates it. → ghost has a crying kink, don’t get me wrong, he has been through a lot and his trauma probably won’t make him enjoy any sadistic kinks. but he does like manhandling you and is not afraid of being a little rough, and seeing you all vulnerable and crying ( out of pleasure ) just drives him feral. plus, it turns him on to fuck you when you look so dolled up and pretty ( gives him a reason to mess you up ) +  likes the fact that you’re bratty too

In 1678, a Chaldean priest from Baghdad reached the Imperial Villa of Potosí, the world’s richest silver-mining camp and at the time the world’s highest city at more than 4,000 metres (13,100 feet) above sea level. A regional capital in the heart of the Bolivian Andes, Potosí remains – more than three and a half centuries later – a mining city today. [...] The great red Cerro Rico or ‘Rich Hill’ towered over the city of Potosí. It had been mined since 1545 [...]. When Don Elias arrived [...], the great boom of 1575-1635 – when Potosí alone produced nearly half the world’s silver – was over, but the mines were still yielding the precious metal. [...]
On Potosí’s main market plaza, indigenous and African women served up maize beer, hot soup and yerba mate. Shops displayed the world’s finest silk and linen fabrics, Chinese porcelain, Venetian glassware, Russian leather goods, Japanese lacquerware, Flemish paintings and bestselling books in a dozen languages. [...]
Pious or otherwise, wealthy women clicked Potosí’s cobbled streets in silver-heeled platform shoes, their gold earrings, chokers and bracelets studded with Indian diamonds and Burmese rubies. Colombian emeralds and Caribbean pearls were almost too common. Peninsular Spanish ‘foodies’ could savour imported almonds, capers, olives, arborio rice, saffron, and sweet and dry Castilian wines. Black pepper arrived from Sumatra and southwest India, cinnamon from Sri Lanka, cloves from Maluku and nutmeg from the Banda Islands. Jamaica provided allspice. Overloaded galleons spent months transporting these luxuries across the Pacific, Indian and Atlantic oceans. Plodding mule and llama trains carried them up to the lofty Imperial Villa.
---
Potosi supplied the world with silver, the lifeblood of trade and sinews of war [...]. In turn, the city consumed the world’s top commodities and manufactures. [...] The city’s dozen-plus notaries worked non-stop inventorying silver bars and sacks of pesos [...]. Mule trains returning from the Pacific brought merchandise and mercury, the essential ingredient for silver refining. [...] From Buenos Aires came slavers with captive Africans from Congo and Angola, transshipped via Rio de Janeiro. Many of the enslaved were children branded with marks mirroring those, including the royal crown, inscribed on silver bars.
Soon after its 1545 discovery, Potosí gained world renown [...]. Mexico’s many mining camps [...] peaked only after 1690. [...] Even in the Andes of South America there were other silver cities [...]. But no silver deposit in the world matched the Cerro Rico, and no other mining-refining conglomeration grew so large. Potosí was unique: a mining metropolis.
Thus Don Elias, like others, made the pilgrimage to the silver mountain. It was a divine prodigy, a hierophany. In 1580, Ottoman artists depicted Potosí as a slice of earthly paradise, the Cerro Rico lush and green, the city surrounded by crenellated walls. Potosí, as Don Quixote proclaimed, was the stuff of dreams. Another alms seeker, in 1600, declared the Cerro Rico the Eighth Wonder of the World. A [...] visitor in 1615 gushed: ‘Thanks to its mines, Castile is Castile, Rome is Rome, the pope is the pope, and the king is monarch of the world.’ [...]
---
For all its glory, Potosí was also the stuff of nightmares [...].
Almost a century before Don Elias visited Potosí, Viceroy Francisco de Toledo revolutionised world silver production. Toledo was a hard-driving bureaucrat of the Spanish empire [...]. Toledo reached Potosí in 1572, anxious to flip it into the empire’s motor of commerce and war. By 1575, the viceroy had organised a sweeping labour draft, launched a ‘high-tech’ mill-building campaign, and overseen construction of a web of dams and canals to supply the Imperial Villa with year-round hydraulic power, all in the high Andes at the nadir of the Little Ice Age. Toledo also oversaw construction of the Potosí mint, staffed full-time with enslaved Africans. [...] Toledo’s successes came with a steep price. Thanks to the viceroy’s ‘reforms’, hundreds of thousands of Andeans became virtual refugees (those who survived) and, in the search for timber and fuel, colonists denuded hundreds of miles of fragile, high-altitude land. [...] The city’s smelteries belched lead and zinc-rich smoke [...].
The Habsburg kings of Spain cared little about Potosí’s social and environmental horrors. [...] For more than a century, the Cerro Rico fuelled the world’s first global military-industrial complex, granting Spain the means to prosecute decades-long wars on a dozen fronts – on land and at sea. No one else could do all this and still afford to lose. [...]
By [...] 1909 [...], mineral rushes had helped to produce cities such as San Francisco and Johannesburg, but nothing quite compared for sheer audacity with the Imperial Villa of Potosí, a neo-medieval mining metropolis perched in the Andes of South America.

Setanta
["Rare races and their situation"
Report of Admiral Michael Stein
Limited edition, for official use only]
Tumblr media
The fate of those who carry in themselves a part of creatures from other planes is usually fraught with many difficulties. Even Sources that born with half of the blood of heavenly deities or powerful spellcasters of antiquity in them are forced to pay a high price for the possession of their powers. Moreover, many Sources undergo physiological changes that require constant training to control. This leaves its mark on how society treats such involuntary prisoners of the blood lineage.
But if awakening of a Source is, to a certain extent, considered a studied phenomenon that is subject to control and can be used for the good, such thing as half-breeds carrying a particle of creatures from other planes becomes a significant problem, which sometimes affects entire races living both in Arvil and beyond.
One of the most striking examples of such a half-breed race is the people who call themselves Setanta.
Setanta are humanoids with striking distinctive features, such as hooves instead of legs, horns of various forms and sizes, altered retinas, and claws on their hands. There are cases when representatives of this race had different skin pigmentation - blue, red or even purple.
Setanta who possess more power and are closest to their ancestors from the Lower Planes may even have wings.
Otherwise, they are physiologically no different from humans and can even have children with them, which, however, in most cases will belong to a half-race. At the moment, the setant's great predisposition to magical disciplines has been experimentally proven. Also, the percentage of awakening Sources among them is higher than among all other races of Arvil.
According to an ancient legend, this race owes its appearance to a curse placed on the old city of Kahilin on the south-eastern coast of the Pearl Sea. According to this myth, the city's residents themselves summoned devil's spawns with their fall into sin, after which they began to breed and bring into the world their disgusting offsprings. Kahilin became the main center of piracy and slave trading and was able to accumulate unthinkable wealth. The appetites of their demonic rulers grew, and, as a result, they went to war on the free lands. Then, the Kingdom of Verdan managed to defeat legions of hellish creatures, as well as their minions. The city itself was taken under control of the forces of the specially established Order of Lightbringers.
Despite all poetry and adherence to the literary tradition, this version of events can hardly be called objective.
As a result of careful research by Hegemony scientists, a theory was developed that the main reason for the appearance of setanta was not some abstract sin, but a rift to the Lower Planes that appeared during a cataclysm, allowing demons a passage to our world, but, obviously, in extremely limited quantities.
A certain number of inhabitants of the Lower Planes turned out to be physiologically compatible with people, and, as a result, over the centuries of the existence of this portal, a new, unique half-race was formed, geographically concentrated mainly in one area of Arvil - on the coast of the Pearl Sea.
The nature of relationship between humans, setanta and the creatures of the Lower Planes is unclear, but it can be assumed that some kind of mutually beneficial alliance took place. It is also reliably known that the war during which the city was captured was not started by a threat to the free people, but by a strive for control over the slave trading markets and trade routes. After the end of the war, Kahilin lost all its former influence. The rift to other planes was obviously sealed, and representatives of the Setanta half-race were striped of their rights, effectively turning into slaves in their native lands. Moreover, the Order began selling them en masse to the colonies, which brought it enormous profits.
After the Order of Lightbringers joined the Coalition, there was little to no change. Setanta are still sold into slavery, and even under the Liberty Charter they cannot achieve citizenship beyond third level.
In the colonies, the situation for them is even worse: the entire half-race is a legal property - either private or state - and mostly setanta work there in mansions, taverns or brothels as servants.
Winning this entire dissatisfied mass of the population to our side could be a significant advantage in the ongoing war. It is necessary to create some preconditions for organized resistance against the Coalition's regime. To make it clear to the setanta, that among those who follow the path of the Doctrine there is no place for racism and foolish superstitions. Bring them the idea that their future is with us. Having achieved this, we will have an ally more useful than any neutral state that kneeled before us out of fear.

For the intimacy prompt
tracing fingers down your partner's chest
Ok, ummm, all I can say is Thank You for this. I hope you enjoy this as much as I did 💙🖤
In all the years of artfully sneaking around for missions, Patrick Brewer never thought his expertise would lead him here. At least, not as many times as it has.
The hotel ballroom must have close to 800 people, but he’s already seen the one he’s after. Patrick knows he’s been spotted, too. They’ve been chasing each other around the globe - from Mexico to Monaco, South Africa to Saskatchewan, and everywhere between - for years now. This dance is familiar and they’re intimately acquainted with how the steps go.
Patrick sips his sparkling champagne, peering over the rim, and meeting familiar dark eyes standing on the upper balcony. One delicate hand, with olive skin and silver rings, lifts a champagne flute from the railing in a silent toast across the sea of otherwise ignorant partygoers. Patrick’s target raises a single dark eyebrow, then tilts the glass to his lips, draining it in one go. He replaces the vessel and smirks in Patrick’s direction before turning to walk away. Patrick recognizes it for the signal it is, sitting his now empty glass on a passing server’s tray.
As if by intuition alone, his feet carry him up the staircase, past eclectic older dealers arguing whether a Van Gogh or a Cézzane will fetch more, young heiresses flirting shamelessly, and the occasional solo chap watching them. The stream of people thins the further Patrick walks, the lights becoming more spread out, leaving shadowy patches between. The electric glow of an Exit sign catches his eye, and he’s just about to turn back when he finds himself tugged into a dark alcove, pinned to the wall.
Patrick smirks, noting the warm, spicy scent now surrounding him. It should make him wary, but that sensation stopped long ago, replaced by want and lust. “Rose, we meet again.”
“So we do, Mr. Brewer,” a voice purrs in response. “I hope you’ve been well since Denmark.”
Patrick traces a finger over the curves he’s become so accustomed to, feeling the sleek mother-of-pearl buttons under his skin until he hooks onto the V of the single-breasted tuxedo jacket. “Never better. Should we exchange the usual my country wants you dead pleasantries first or is foreplay off the menu tonight?”
A singular growl precedes firm hands pinning Patrick’s wrists above his head, warm lips and tongue meeting his own. No matter how many times they’ve done this, it always makes him dizzy. It shouldn’t be this way, he should be capturing David Rose and hand delivering him to the Canadian government. Instead, he always finds himself in total disbelief at how right, and fucking life affirming, it feels to be under David’s control.
Sometimes, dangerously, he thinks he wants it forever. It only took Patrick mentioning once that he doesn’t sleep with anyone else between their trysts. David went off the grid for over a year before they came crashing back together in a blissful rendezvous where the only sounds were gasps and skin on skin. Patrick fell asleep with David slung across his body, head on his chest, and he thought they turned a corner. But when he woke in the morning, David was nowhere to be found. They didn’t see each other for three months until their paths crossed in Moscow.
“David,” Patrick pants, too close for comfort to losing his composure like a teenage boy as David grinds their hips together. And he’s not going to do that in a suit that had a comma on the price tag. He’s not. “Please.”
“Want me to stop?” David’s teeth drag over Patrick’s earlobe before scraping along the line of his jaw.
“No?”
David chuckles softly, the vibrations humming against Patrick’s neck. “Are you sure, Mr. Brewer?”
Patrick can only hiss in response when David’s hips thrust forward, holding him in place.
“Well, I’m not getting on my knees for you in a hallway, in this suit,” David’s breath ghosts against the shell of Patrick’s ear. “I know you don’t always follow orders, but be good and meet me in the penthouse. I’ll make it worth your while.”
David presses a searing kiss against his mouth, pulling Patrick’s bottom lip between his teeth, before he retreats into the darkness. Patrick feels adrift without the weight of David to anchor him, even knowing they’ll be tangled together soon. He stands tall, straightening his jacket and adjusting his bowtie. He reaches into his pocket for his phone so he can at least check his hair in the camera. Patrick smiles to himself when his fingers brush over the keycard David slipped in next to it. He taps the card, deciding to abandon checking his reflection, hoping he won’t encounter anyone else important along the way.
After all, there’s no time to waste when he has a foreign agent to catch.

New Title Tuesday: Historical Fiction
Deep as the Sky, Red as the Sea by Rita Chang-Eppig
When Shek Yeung sees a Portuguese sailor slay her husband, a feared pirate, she knows she must act swiftly or die. Instead of mourning, Shek Yeung launches a new plan: immediately marrying her husband’s second-in-command, and agreeing to bear him a son and heir, in order to retain power over her half of the fleet.
But as Shek Yeung vies for control over the army she knows she was born to lead, larger threats loom. The Chinese Emperor has charged a brutal, crafty nobleman with ridding the South China Seas of pirates, and the Europeans—tired of losing ships, men, and money to Shek Yeung’s alliance—have new plans for the area. Even worse, Shek Yeung’s cutthroat retributions create problems all their own. As Shek Yeung navigates new motherhood and the crises of leadership, she must decide how long she is willing to fight, and at what price, or risk losing her fleet, her new family, and even her life.
A book of salt and grit, blood and sweat, Deep as the Sky, Red as the Sea is an unmissable portrait of a woman who leads with the courage and ruthlessness of our darkest and most beloved heroes.
The Long March Home by Marcus Brotherton and Tosca Lee
Jimmy Propfield joined the army for two reasons: to get out of Mobile, Alabama, with his best friends Hank and Billy and to forget his high school sweetheart, Claire.
Life in the Philippines seems like paradise--until the morning of December 8, 1941, when news comes from Manila: Imperial Japan has bombed Pearl Harbor. Within hours, the teenage friends are plunged into war as enemy warplanes attack Luzon, beginning a battle for control of the Pacific Theater that will culminate with a last stand on the Bataan Peninsula and end with the largest surrender of American troops in history.
What follows will become known as one of the worst atrocities in modern warfare: the Bataan Death March. With no hope of rescue, the three friends vow to make it back home together. But the ordeal is only the beginning of their nearly four-year fight to survive.
Inspired by true stories, The Long March Home is a gripping coming-of-age tale of friendship, sacrifice, and the power of unrelenting hope.
Loot by Tania James
Abbas is just seventeen years old when his gifts as a woodcarver come to the attention of Tipu Sultan, and he is drawn into service at the palace in order to build a giant tiger automaton for Tipu’s sons, a gift to commemorate their return from British captivity. His fate—and the fate of the wooden tiger he helps create—will mirror the vicissitudes of nations and dynasties ravaged by war across India and Europe.
Working alongside the legendary French clockmaker Lucien du Leze, Abbas hones his craft, learns French, and meets Jehanne, the daughter of a French expatriate. When Du Leze is finally permitted to return home to Rouen, he invites Abbas to come along as his apprentice. But by the time Abbas travels to Europe, Tipu’s palace has been looted by British forces, and the tiger automaton has disappeared. To prove himself, Abbas must retrieve the tiger from an estate in the English countryside, where it is displayed in a collection of plundered art.
The Lost Journals of Sacajewea by Debra Magpie Earling
Among the most memorialized women in American history, Sacajewea served as interpreter and guide for Lewis and Clark's Corps of Discovery. In this visionary novel, acclaimed Indigenous author Debra Magpie Earling brings this mythologized figure vividly to life, casting unsparing light on the men who brutalized her and re-centering Sacajewea as the arbiter of her own history.
Raised among the Lemhi Shoshone, in this telling the young Sacajewea is bright and bold, growing strong from the hard work of "learning all ways to survive" gathering berries, water, roots, and wood; butchering buffalo, antelope, and deer; catching salmon and snaring rabbits; weaving baskets and listening to the stories of her elders. When her village is raided and her beloved Appe and Bia are killed, Sacajewea is kidnapped and then gambled away to Charbonneau, a French Canadian trapper.
Heavy with grief, Sacajewea learns how to survive at the edge of a strange new world teeming with fur trappers and traders. When Lewis and Clark's expedition party arrives, Sacajewea knows she must cross a vast and brutal terrain with her newborn son, the white man who owns her, and a company of men who wish to conquer and commodify the world she loves.
Written in lyrical, dreamlike prose, The Lost Journals of Sacajewea is an astonishing work of art and a powerful tale of perseverance--the Indigenous woman's story that hasn't been told.

I gave Emily a large diameter sterling silver bead necklace to take to college. If these were pearls, they would be the South Sea variety. She asked me for a necklace to wear with the silver bracelets and white gold earrings she received as holiday gifts, and this is what I had lying around. I have never worn this strand, so I gave it to her.
Bead necklaces are soaring in value. Individual sterling spheres of this size are priced around ten dollars on both the new and vintage markets. I placed a small bag with six extras into our locked security box, and labeled it with Emily's name so her backup supply is kept safe in case she needs it.

Buy Pearl Stone (Moti Stone) Online at Best Price - Deepseapearl
A natural pearl, also known as a “moti” in some languages, is a rare and valuable gemstone that forms inside the soft tissue of a living mollusk, such as an oyster or clam. It is created when a foreign object, such as a piece of sand or a parasite, enters the mollusk’s body and irritates its soft tissue. In response, the mollusk secretes a substance called nacre around the irritant, layer by layer, until a pearl is formed.
Tumblr media
Natural pearls have been highly prized throughout history for their beauty and rarity. However, due to overfishing and pollution, natural pearls have become increasingly rare and expensive. Most pearls available in the market today are cultured pearls, which are created by intentionally introducing an irritant into a mollusk and then cultivating the pearl over time.
Benefits of South Sea Pearl
Natural pearls, also known as moti, have been prized for their beauty and value for centuries. Here are some of the benefits of natural pearls:
Tumblr media
Beauty: Natural pearls are known for their exquisite beauty and luster. They come in a variety of colors, including white, black, pink, and yellow, and each pearl is unique in its size, shape, and texture.
Symbolism: In many cultures, natural pearls are considered symbols of purity, innocence, and wisdom. They are often given as gifts to celebrate milestones such as weddings, graduations, and birthdays.
Emotional Healing: Some people believe that natural pearls have healing properties, particularly for emotional issues. It is said to promote calmness and reduce stress and anxiety.
Financial Investment: Natural pearls are rare and valuable, making them a good investment for those looking to diversify their portfolio. The value of natural pearls has historically appreciated over time, making them a stable investment.

Unraveling the Price of Authentic Pearls: Navigating the World of Elegance and Value
Authentic pearls, revered for their timeless elegance and natural allure, hold a price that transcends mere monetary value. The journey to determine the price of Original Pearls is a nuanced exploration of craftsmanship, rarity, and inherent beauty. Unlike their synthetic counterparts, genuine pearls are formed organically within the depths of mollusks, imbuing each gem with a unique luster and iridescence that cannot be replicated. Factors such as size, shape, color, surface quality, and luster all play a pivotal role in determining the value of a pearl, with larger, rounder, and blemish-free specimens commanding higher prices. Furthermore, the type of pearl—whether freshwater, Akoya, South Sea, or Tahitian—adds another layer of distinction to its worth, with each variety possessing its own characteristics and market demand. Beyond the tangible attributes, the price of original pearls is also influenced by cultural significance, historical provenance, and contemporary trends, reflecting the enduring allure and prestige associated with these coveted gems. As we delve into the intricate world of pearl valuation, we uncover not only the monetary cost but also the intrinsic value of these treasures of the sea, symbolizing beauty, sophistication, and timeless elegance.
