mike walters loves to look you directly in the eyes and open episode 1 by lying in the first sentence. he's not here to document the game as an impartial observer, he's here because the post that lead him to w.bg had some kind of clue about the prize.
of course he was so desperate to believe that he was in first place. of course he was willing to cut his own hands off for bonus points. he "started playing WOE.BEGONE because [he] needed [matt] back", and anything that mike can do to increase his standing with the gamerunners increases the chance that mike gets to keep him.
by the time mike hits the fourth challenge, he's convinced that if he plays well enough he can get his hands on the tech. choosing not to play would kill them both. completing the challenge brings him closer to winning the game and having matt back.
the only way to still save matt is to lose him all over again.

one thing that doesn’t stop amusing me is how edgar and mikey call sly ‘august’ even though he asks them to call him sly. the funniest is when sly tells edman that ‘sly’ is fine twice in that one conversation and edman just. doesn’t.
the notable exception being mustardseed calling him sly.

Current obsession: WOE.BEGONE It's really good queer scifi podcast with horror and comedy elements. You should listen. And if you don't listen. Well. Progress Update #3 | 11/28/23
Sorry y'all for the time between posts, been a busy few weeks in my life so I've been writing when I could.
Great news about the Podcast! I finally got the episode and season 1 plot/structure down and mapped out! This means I can fully focus on scripts and plot points I know will be important for the future! At the current point of writing this, 4ish voice roles will be needed in the future which will mean 4 voice actors will be needed (Not currently looking but giving context).
During this time I will also be looking into the process of getting the podcast out there for when its time and finding good sources for background sounds and environmental effects.
I do thankfully have someone willing to do the music at a later point. I am extremely excited to have him on the project and I know he will do a phenomenal job!
In other news, started Woe.Begone the other night and tonight I'll be on the season 2 finale so that's my new obsession. Highly recommend it. Been keeping up with Red valley and God I can't wait for Hypersleep 3.
As always I'm open to questions about the project and its plot as long as I feel it doesn't delve too deep into ruining the mystery. I will be posting a proper overview and plot summary for season one once I get through most of the scripts ( I just know I'll be rewriting some things). You all have that to look forward to!
