OMG HIII <3 and Congratulations 🥳 you deserve each and every one of them & more! Remember to take care of yourself and stay hydrated. Please do this event at your pace love.
Can I please request a prompt with Waka sama (Ayato the Yashiro rascal :3) with #7? Thank you before hand! 🧸🤍
Once again, congratulations for your milestone! 🫶🏻
Thank you so much !! :D You make sure to take care and stay hydrated too !!
This ask and answer are a part of my 200 follower event, which is still open and can be found here!
Rambling under the cut ! Mentions of an Ayato who is a little more... flirty than canon might suggest (and maybe a smidge more unhinged--)
Content warnings: Dark!Ayato (as in like. kinda evil adjacent.), mentions of manipulation, power imbalances and the like. A bit of romantic x reader towards the end. I'd say this borders into yandere!Ayato -
Disclaimer: I do not condone any of the depicted behaviour in real life, this is a fictional piece of work in a fictional setting with fictional characters. If you believe you or someone you know is being abused or mistreated, please reach out to someone for help.
So, I've been sitting on this prompt a couple of days, trying to figure out how I might approach it. It brought a few pretty interesting concepts to mind - I've had a Villain!Ayato AU fluttering around for a while, nothing fleshed out, but now is as good a time as any, no? This song gave me some neat inspiration for it that I hadn't super considered until now.
Imagine, if you will, an AU where Ayato never fully grew out of his delinquent phase, an AU where he's a little more suggestible when he's younger, a little more easily corrupted.
An Ayato who is fully aware of his good looks and charm, and is more than willing to go the extra mile and use them to get his way. Someone who grew up so rich and spoiled so rotten that it seeped all the way down to his core.
On the surface, he's as diplomatic and polite as ever, but behind the curtain he's a different man completely - showering the object(s) of his fixation in love and gifts and making sure they'll never have to lift a finger for anything (well, until he tires of them). He's downright cruel to those he sees as being beneath him, or those who are no longer of any use to him.
Those lilac eyes hold a detached, cold kind of malice, a pure disregard for the wants and needs of anybody other than himself (and perhaps his family, at a push - though who knows what would happen if they were to dare stand in his way).
If you're unlucky enough to catch his eye, plenty of people would say you should be flattered (he's a man who's got very specific taste, after all), but it's hard to feel anything but overwhelmed at the sudden bombardment of gifts and affections Ayato showers upon you - through a third party, of course. He wouldn't be caught dead outside of the Estate, there are far too many out there who are plotting his demise.
It's not an easy task, shaking the Yashiro Commissioner off of your back, especially now rumours say he's climbing his way up the ranks, usurping the bylaws to dig his claws into the last remaining thing that is holding the already crumbling country of Inazuma together. It's downright scary to know that he's got his sights set on you, of all people, and nobody else seems to really think much of it, he's always been this way, after all - demanding and conniving - and what Kamisato Ayato wants, he gets.
Please don't repost, steal, copy or otherwise plagarise my writing! This includes posting translations to other sites (without credit+permission).

Does raditz know that gohan is half saiyan half earthling? If not then I imagine him being completely shock, but also kinda suspected that gohan wasn’t really a full blooded saiyan.
Btw I love your art so god damn much ❤️❤️❤️
Preciate ya 🙏
And i feel like theres no way for him NOT to know- he knows his brother effectively 'went native' while marooned on that backwater little planet, and its not like he knew of or detected any other saiyans there, so its really the only option. Plus nappa and vegeta immediately figured it out too:
Tumblr media
But then too imma use this ask to mention a small personal HC i have that, just by nature of saiyans whole conquest model, there were probably plenty of people who were culturally saiyans but not 'pure blooded saiyans'. I know its just filler errors but i like that as an explanation for scenes like this where you see 'saiyans' with multiple hair colors, despite the rules about pure blooded saiyans hair.
Tumblr media
And, given the whole 'warrior culture', i think lower and middle class saiyans probably didnt have strong opinions on how 'pure blooded' someone was so much as whether they were an asset to their squad and could hold their own in a fight. But you get to the upper classes and im sure then they get a lot more space racist :T
Last thing is- ill be honest, im probably never gonna draw it cause i dont wanna make anyone unnecessarily uncomfortable, but in the same way raditz calls gohan 'runt' and nappa tends to just say 'kid'... vegeta would absolutely have a habit of callin gohan some rude ass words for mixed race :/ cause vegetas an ass.
In my humble opinion.

The fact that we (canonically at least) don’t have post-T&T pre-AJ Phoenix meeting post AAI2 Edgeworth is such a crime really. Like imagine. Nick saw him 2ish months ago, in terms of times apart for them that’s nothing, and after all the AAI series character development Edgeworth goes thru is must be like ??!??? For Nick. At least AA1-> AA2 Edgeworth was a year long absence + extreme amount of emotional distress for Nick to “explain” the changes. Here it’s like Edgeworth went on a life changing summer break lol
(I do think Edgeworth is putting up a stronger front in the AAI series then in the main game since he’s got all these people he needs to take care of, and he can/has to be more emotionally vulnerable/messy with Nick. So he still will be closer to the trilogy Edgeworth when they are alone + I assume Nick can tease some of the more neurotic aspects of him out haha, but yeah Miles suddenly being a dad and mentor to Kay and Sebastian and giving raises to Gumshoe like???)
((And in canon I assume post disbarment Nick doesn’t notice so many changes, he’s got OTHER things to deal with and I also assume he doesn’t meet Miles' crew for a while after that. But if there were more time between the events I’d want that interaction with Miles and his merry band of problem children and Nick))
Hey sorry it's been nearly two months since you sent this in! finally getting around to answering things properly.
re: your point about Edgeworth putting up a stronger front in the AAI series, this interview directly acknowledges that:
Q: We haven’t seen Mitsurugi brooding and moody anymore like in the main Gyakuten Saiban (Ace Attorney) series. Why don’t we get to see his more humble side anymore? (From: Koro)
A: Perhaps because he has grown now he has become the protagonist. And it’s likely Mitsurugi could show his weaker moments there because he was with Naruhodō. He wouldn’t let Itonoko or Mikumo know when he’s disheartened.
So there's definitely an element of that there for his behavior in the Investigations series compared to mainline games!
It would be interesting to see how Phoenix would interact with Kay and Sebastian and what he'd think of their relationships with Edgeworth, like "does Edgeworth think that if he recruits teenagers he's going to be able to win trials" or something. It'd definitely be a side to Edgeworth he hadn't really gotten much of a chance to see before. Plus I think he and Kay would enjoy making fun of Edgeworth together.
I also think it's very funny that aai2 decided to have edgeworth lose his badge for a couple of days just weeks before phoenix loses his badge for seven years. I have some vague thoughts floating around re: their relationship in the seven year gap based both on that and edgeworth presumably accelerating his legal career while phoenix is disbarred. Especially since Phoenix's major reason for becoming a lawyer was to help Edgeworth; well, now Edgeworth has been helped and is helping others and is succeeding with everything, so Phoenix achieved what he set out to do, in a way, but it still really sucks being the one disbarred, and I think it'd be neat if there was a little bit of resentment building up on Phoenix's end there. like, it would really suck to see Edgeworth succeeding where Phoenix is stagnating given Phoenix rerouted his life for him, even though he acknowledges the disbarment is not Edgeworth's fault in any way, idk if I'm wording this correctly I just feel like there's something there. I think they definitely go through some periods of at least semi-estrangement, even if not deliberate on Edgeworth's end, because I think Edgeworth frequently is busy and is not socially aware enough to check in on even his favorite person for like months at the time while Phoenix is staring at the phone for hours in a depressed haze waiting for Edgeworth to respond to a passive-aggressive text. stuff like that. I can't remember if I touched on that in a fic or not yet but if I haven't and I ever get around to writing again I should.
I also go back and forth depending on the situation about how much Phoenix knows about the investigations events and how much of those guys he gets to meet. On the one hand, as important people to Edgeworth, it makes sense Phoenix would meet them fairly soon, but it is also funny for like. Phoenix not even knowing Kay exists until one day a few months into a relationship with Edgeworth he's hanging out in his apartment when Kay breaks in and they go through a "what are you doing in edgeworth's house?" "what are YOU doing in mr edgeworth's house?" kind of routine

Hi yes is Blocky Gaming going to rotate point of focus for the three main characters? Like Ness, Roxie, Blythe? Also I really really really love them so much this is a fantastic comic
AH THANK YOUUUU that rlly means a lot!! 😭 im not gonna be rotating focus between the three of them intentionally in a set order or anything, it's mostly just coincidence that that's sorta happened thus far AGHKSLDHFL
i'm still in the setup phase of the story, so after all that is wrapped up (which should be very soon) the three of them are gonna be together most of the time!

very random question, but I was thinking about it, so: where did gethen get the dog in book 1? like did he just steal someone's dog? does one of the neverseen have a dog he borrowed (really would like to know how THAT conversation went down, "hey can I borrow your dog for an expedition to the forbidden cities, no not for anything specific, i just want to walk your dog" "gethen my dog HATES you")? or does he actually have a dog of his own who just. really doesn't like him.
If he stole it, did the dog ever get back to its owner or did he bring it back? Is there just a human-world dog wandering around the Neverseen bases?
Do elves have dogs? (Do they have any normal pets? We see a lot of fantastical animals, what about non-fantastical ones?)
The implication seems to be that Gethen stole the dog from a nearby human residence, since it gave him so much trouble. Though technically we can't definitively rule out the alternatives. I'd assume he'd simply let the dog go once he was out of sight, and whether or not it got safely home wasn't his concern; if it was another elf, I'd say their value of animals and life would spur them to return it themselves, but this is Gethen.
As for the normal pet thing, we see a similar situation with food. The elves have this vast array of fruit, but not a single one is familiar. They've never heard of an apple or grape or kiwi or anything Sophie would know. They also don't have any typical pets or animals.
The artistic purpose is to alienate Sophie and emphasize how different and unfamiliar everything is, how out of place she feels despite belonging and how much she has to learn. We can also, however, ration it out within the story; in terms of dogs, why would elves have dogs? I'm no expert, but I believe the general thought is that humans domesticated dogs for hunting, and elves simply don't hunt. They don't need them; and they didn't need to domesticate the fruits humans have because they have their own.
Of course that's just for dogs and other animals would need to be evaluated on a case by case basis, but a lot of the elves' work with animals is preserving the ones in danger. That's why there's more fantastical creatures; things like cats and horses don't need their attention. Murcats and cockatrices do.
Anyway, back to your point, I Shannon meant for Gethen to steal the dog since elves don't have them :)

In Keralis' latest episode all I could think about was what you said about Keralis not thinking about how much xB would miss him because of how independent he is and xB taking Keralis disappearing for so long and coming back without a word as a reaffirmation for not taking the flirting seriously. This is your fault. /lh /hj? idk what to categorize this, its like a silly comedic accusation
if you interpret kerilson as a manifestation of how xb sees keralis then there is a lot to read into that lil volleyball ass basically leading xb around getting distracted while xb struggles to understand what it wants from him. i am psychoanalysing xbcrafted's homosexual tendancies and nobody can stop me.

the more i chew over the mercs trilogy from rvb14 the more i think my initial reaction to it was kind of a complete misread actually lol
i had to dig through some old posts to find where i talked about it but initially i approached/read it as showing a pivotal, critical moment in felix and locus's history where they tipped over the line from being This to being That, and in that regard, the episodes are definitely still super fun and charming and Good but they also fall very flat. what exactly was pivotal about that? honestly, not much unless you want to do an insanely close read with some reaching. i guess maybe the whole "surprise, guess we're down to do a ransom and also kill a guy" part but... not really? they definitely murdered n+1 people at the club and are not new to murderizing (eg. the "mason wu, trained killer of men" comment). that was not a moral high ground situation in any way and nothing about it really points to it being The Moment that something changed fundamentally.
but what it was, actually - and i feel silly that i didn't read it like this at first - was honestly just a show that felix and locus did actually come from a place of doing net positives at some point in their lives. and that's not something to be dismissed! the fact that they weren't terrible horrible no-good dirty rotten mercenaries from the day the left active service is really interesting! and the trilogy showcased all of that in a super fun and charming and Good way and sometimes the point is just to show that things used to be different.

I would like to throw in some "Tenko deserved better" to go with the "Angie deserved better". I see an excellent character within Tenko, because when she's allowed to interact with other characters besides Himiko, it makes for very good stuff. Tenko's developing dynamic with Maki in chapter 3 is the main example. But there just isn't enough if this in the main narrative of V3.
Tenko absolutely deserved better. Tenko's character is poorly written in a very different way from how Angie's character is poorly written, in that Tenko falls prey to what I would consider one of V3's biggest flaws on the whole.
A lot of people would recognize what I'm about to talk about as a sort of "Kankri Vantas-ing" of characters - a very particular type of strawman meant to represent people who critique the story, usually for lack of diversity or racist/sexist/homophobic content, and who are then derided in-fiction for doing so as a sort of "gotcha" to fans who dared to be critical of their media. Hermione's belief in House Elf rights from Harry Potter is another famous, somewhat subtler (and far more insidious) example of this.
This is something really, really hard to avoid in fiction that centers around commentary about audiences and bystanders. The Hunger Games is a famous example that avoids this really well - even the people who the Capitol is meant to be an allegory for will criticize it, because the thing they're being critiqued for (massacre of children for sport) is relatable enough for people to make connections to real world situations, but distant enough from reality that it isn't taking personally (amongst many other reasons the Hunger Games succeeds with this).
In fact, I would also argue that THH does an excellent job with this, too. THH does a great job of presenting itself as very straightforward torture porn, only to slowly reveal over the course of the plot that the excessive violence has been deliberately made so gruesome in order to be used as demoralizing propaganda, both to the participants being observed and to the people across the world who it's being broadcast to. The realization that the gratuitous violence was being used towards a cause brings on a whole new light to us, the audience, engaging with it, and forces us to think critically about how such violence could potentially be used to influence us in similar ways in real life. That's powerful! That's a statement about propaganda that shines a spotlight on us as an audience without accusing the player of some inherent moral wrong! That's good shit!
When V3 chose to separate itself from this messaging, that did not by itself create a worse story; however, the decision to replace this with watered down "liking violence is bad" messaging, complete with blatant double meaning statements where the joke is You Should Dislike Previous Danganronpa Titles, is a HUGE disrespect and general kick in the nuts to these previous conclusions.
V3 does a TERRIBLE job at separating its in-universe audience from its real-world audience. That is the whole plot twist of v3, that there is an audience proxy of you, and they suck. And between Kiibo crying "robophobia" to mock any diversity-related critiques, and Tenko crying "degenerate male" and purposely playing into The Predatory Lesbian stereotypes to criticize specifically gender and sexuality-related critiques...hoo boy. It Gets Grating. And having to peel past that to see the genuinely compelling character info underneath shouldn't be such a slog.

All the piccolo stuff reminded me of something...
So back in ye olden days, I remember reading this, like, 500 page ship comic someone did about their oc and piccolo falling in love. I'm not exaggerating it was like a 500 page epic and anyone who has tried to ever draw comics, you know what an undertaking it is to get to even 50 pages.
I'm not much of a shipper. I have ships yeah, but I don't tend to do much with them outside of the confines of my brain. And I was even less of a shipper back then so that someone actually went and did that blew my mind. A whole passion project for pretty much themselves. Stunning~.
So remembering that this was a thing, I went looking to see if it was still up AND IT IS. I found it.
And its actually 600+ pages. I just think that level of dedication is insane. I love that kind of stuff. Its like a little relic of a bygone era and I'm so chuffed that I found it again.
I'm going to read it all tonight.

ur so right about why they're bringing tennant back btw
it just fucking sucks that i won’t be able to watch the episodes and enjoy them fully. i want to!! i really do!! but like look at the clothes regenerating. i’m sure rtd has written an excellent in-universe reason as to why that happened, but in reality it only happened because he didn’t want david in jodie’s costume because he thought it would be disrespectful to drag. i’m not going to be able to watch the specials - regardless of their quality - without thinking ‘tennant is only here to bump the ratings up.’ like if it was fan service they were after, they could just have brought the tenth doctor back and done a multi-doctor episode.
almost everything about the new series just feels icky to me. doctor who’s biggest strength is how it can reinvent itself every few years, so they bring back the old showrunner and have him write all of the episodes? like i’ve seen what this guy can do. i don’t want to see it again. and they announced the first black full-time doctor before announcing that no, actually it’s this white guy you’ve already seen. they’ve got disney interfering with the writing, wanting it to be bigger and flashier, and you can’t tell me that they’re not planning a shite mcu-style spinoff universe. and after rtd’s comments about wanting to respect drag, he casts a drag queen as a villain? are you being for fucking real right now?
idk. i’ll probably watch the new episodes, but if i don’t like them i’ll just leave the show for a bit and wait til rtd eventually leaves.
