(zonau? not sure if thats like. the worlds coolest plural or a translation difference) given your content with more monstery designs i would have thought they'd be up your alley!! however. i have also not played skyward sword (as much as id like to) and i know most of peoples upset with their existence and the totk storyline is because of its conflicts with that plot? i'm very excited to see what you do with your rewrite/botw2!! given their slight presence in faron in botw, it would be cool to see you repurpose the zonai in some way that doesn't conflict with the plot you're going for, something that makes more sense with the cryptic kinda bare minimum we had in botw? sorry if you've explained your stance on the zonai before <3

hhhhhhhh i had ranted alot about it but i hope you are prepared- (also "zonai" is sonau in german but im choosing to write it with a z so people recognize it at least, im pretty sure zonau is also the orignal japanese word for them)

i am fine with their design, in fact, i LIKE their character designs, however i dont like everything else about them.

and no its also not bc it affects skyward sword bc it doesnt affect ANYTHING in skyward sword, bc skyward sword is the VERY FIRST zelda game in the timeline and totk is nowhere near it, totk draws several paralels towards skysw bc its meant a sort of soft reset for this new era but its really just thematic overlap and references bc those are cool (i know alot of people are trying to convince the entire fandom that totk somehow is crammed into the old timeline but trust me its never anywhere near confirmed nor does it make any sense, heres the lil graphic i made last month to clarify how i think its meant to be understood .. quite obviously even -

i dont mean to sound .. mean, but some people read too much into little phrases or references to older titles (like first king of hyrule .. doesnt have to mean the literal firstest of the first ones in all of forgotten history ever, just the first of THIS hyrule for example), and while im not against theories i am very annoyed when people try to say its somehow canon when its NOT)

i dont like how they are 'integrated' into botws world, they feel unnatural and shoved in everywhere, they have been everywhere and did everythign better and cooler and no part of (this) hyrule was untouched by them their architecture feels not integrated well either and design wise its rather bland, while the sheikah shrines for example while obviously not natural and very 'techy' they still build a harmonizing contrast while the totk shrines are pretty laughably unfitting compared to them the basically complete disappearance of all sheikah tech related stuff bothers me immensely bc why would you just get rid of it istead of developing it further (i know about purahs towers and think they are just like a worse version of the previous ones; and before this argument comes up again, them destryoing it all -somehow- bc they were afraid of it being taken over again is a dumb excuse bc then they should be even more scared of zonau tech- even MORE unknown and advanced tech literally falling from the sky) you could have done SO MUCH with the ancient shiekah tech it drives me nuts

i also think it tipped the delicate balance of the kinda medival setting + high tech that botw had set up compeltely over, the zonau tech just .. is so painfully obviously only the way it is to give you little lego parts to glue together (i know its a focus of the game ... or at least the gamePLAY but it could have been done better, again i think they managed the balance perfectly with shiekah tech, its weird and isnt natural but doesnt endanger the believability of it ... the zonau tech just throws that out the window rly ... how cool would it have been if you could built lil guardian walk thingies djknhfkd )

in general they just feel like a complete replacement for the ancient shiekah and are so SO desperately trying to make the zonau the COOLER and BETTER versions of what the shiekah were (you COULD have connected them in a cool way, like there being ancient shiekah labs build in the old zonau mining facilities bc they used zonau tech as basis for their own tech etc)

like instead of building on the set up and potential botw had prepared, they just scrambled to make a 'better' version of botw, like oh no forget THAT ancient civilization we have an EVEN MORE ancient, and EVEN MORE highly developed peoples there that were also everywhere before you but also were never really hinted at- and then repeat botws structure .__.

having an old and forgotten civilization of whom only some withered ruins remain gave botw a much more real feeling, a world with a history that you will never know (you know, bc that makes it intriguing and is just .. a good choice of worldbuilding imo)- and then totk comes along and reveals everything and also nothing, we know too much of them to be intrigued by their mystery and also not enough to actually care about them (also them beign presented as the good perfectly perfectestest kingdom of light that can do no wrong other than underestimate the eeeevil guy while they also had their hands on every part of the land and made all other races be their face and nameless servants just ... thats weird man!! i know its a game, even if its only aimed at kids my god they arent stupid either!! you really present me with that and expect me to take it at face value what argh)

again i think they COULD have been integrated into it, but the way it was done completely threw me off, im not mad about them EXISTING but about how it was DONE in the game

the way they were done robs not just totk but also botw of mystery and intrigue, for example i much rather had them stay a mystery, only ever talked about in some text and some old and almost completely withered ruins left, you never get so see what happened there in the past, you can only guess, but you have to deal with the fallout anyway and thats just ONE possibility, there are so many and it feels like they chose the most boring one every single time

sometimes knowing less is better than knowing half

i draw other artist characters in my comics because they're my close friends, and they're just in the background, a silly reference that will not effect the main story I've planned.

Not to be too involved in fandom discourse but I think that the good omens fandoms (and most fandoms out there) has an issue with going back at the source material. I don't mean this in an patronizing way because I do it too, and it happens, you get so involved with a character and with a story that some things become blurred and more reflective of yourself (the watcher/reader) then of the story itself.

But sometimes, specially if you happen to find yourself hating a character that it's literally part of the main couple of the story you love, I think it's good to go back to that story you love and revisit the things you like about it and remind yourself what they really are like in canon.

The thing about Good Omens is that it is of course a very touching love story with very important themes, but it's also a clever comedy about two immortal beings and the insane divine/human world. Aziraphale and Crowley aren't two beings who are torturing themselves because of their love for centuries, they love and have fun with each other and the silly good/evil things the world has to offer.

I've seen this smug face before so I assume this is an easy one but I'm asking you anyway please (I could probably have also just asked the person who posted these but I get nervousssss)

I could definitely new timeline Bi-Han being jealous honestly. Not to mention I imagine New Era(NE for short) Bi-Han was kind of... aggressive as a toddler given his current personality. Hell, when Bi-Han was sent to test Raiden and Kung Lao, he shows way more aggression than Smoke and Kuai do so I imagine this sort of thing was always there.

He's not evil(he's a literal toddler) but I imagine he wasn't fond of Kuai at first sight and he doesn't get what is special about him or why he's 'hogging' mom's attention.

Which is why he doesn't see any problem with poking a newborn Kuai in the eye and not understanding why he can't roughhouse him as play. Kids tend to not understand how delicate babies are so I could easily see him doing something like this.

Bi-Han as an adult being frustrated and aggressive does not automatically mean he was that kind of child to begin with. And honestly, I wish the fandom's tendency to reduce character to only one(1) trait displayed at certain and a very specific moment of their life (story event) will die with Extreme Prejudice. A sweetest child can turn into a bitter adult, the same as the problematic kid can become the most kind, responsible person and it is as much about their nature as much about the upbringing and circumstances that shaped them. Because even the most pure person can be radicalized into a hateful being if said person fell into the wrong crowd or was raised in such a toxic environment. 

Bi-Han being angry now is closely tied to long-term frustration, both shown by story mode and specifically mentioned by Kuai Liang and so far, the only mention of his childhood behavior is him being cold to Tomas, which again is not the same as open aggression and bullying tendencies. So no, I don’t think just because Sub-Zero is now bitter and prone to violence, he was an angry toddler back then.

What is even more, we don’t have any clue how older Bi-Han is than Kuai Liang - if the difference is about two years old, I think he wouldn’t be old enough to hate baby on the first sight or roughhouse him in play, as I doubt their parents would left any of them without a proper supervision, whatever their own or nanny’s. If he is older than let’s say 5-6 years, he may as well already started his Lin Kuei training and not have time to play with baby nor reason to think the baby takes all the love and attention from him, as I imagine Grandmaster would have a special spot for his first-born son, if not the boy himself then his  education but also, the man was leader of the whole clan, and duties could keep him busy and away from both children. So kinda hard to hate a baby on sight, if the baby himself doesn’t get any special attention and its arrival doesn’t change much in regard to your own life. The attention of mother may be a different thing, but then again, the woman was a fighter, so why assume she was there to babysitting both boys all the time and not have a nanny to take care of Bi-Han and Kuai Liang, so she could fulfill her own share of duties, as a great warrior and Grandmaster’s wife? 

And you know what I also dislike about the whole jealous kid Bi-Han or general angry kid Bi-Han takes? The erasing of his parents’ contribution to the situation. Why are people so set on demonizing kid Bi-Han, even if just as “kids know no better and have a hard time to understand their feeling” way, but won’t include his father and mother into the picture? When I hear things like  Bi-Han poking a newborn Kuai in the eye or roughhouse him as play, I don’t wonder if the boy was jealous or cruel or purpose, only why a parents would left a baby and a few years older kid alone, without a proper supervisions or why they didn’t set a rules for little Bi-Han to know how to act and treat a new born brother and so on. And if he was jealous or unhappy, why didn't they help him process the negative feelings. Like, why do people exclude father and mother from such scenarios, as it is them who should be there for both sons and ensure their safety alike yet it is always somehow just Bi-Han was a bad, angry or difficult child?

I’m here for “innocent until proven otherwise” in regard to Bi-Han as a child but also, if only to spite the fandom, I will say this: for all we know kid Bi-Han could be truly happy to have a younger brother and helped his mother taking care of the baby as much as a few years kid could. And the bitterness and anger came when he was much older and had a better understanding of Lin Kuei's servitude to Earthrealm and Fire Lord. Here, you all will need to pry it from my cold, dead hands as I won’t change my mind unless the lore provides me irrefutable evidence.

As you see, I’m done with the jealous, abusive, bad kid Bi-Han. If someone wants to see him like that? Go ahead and have fun! But on this one aspect I can only agree to disagree.

🏳️‍🌈 LGBTQIA+ headcannon - Raz seems to be an absolutely straight sweetheart, and that's it! He definetly will grow up to be the best boyfriend / husband ever, just like his dad Gomez Adams! XD

💌 Fluffy headcannon - my headcannon is that Raz has basically two ways to show affection: or he invests a little of his time to be with the ones he loves, or he helps everyone with something. Absolutely anything, as long as he knows that person will be happy in the end... which is kinda problematic, as we could see by his actions in Psychonauts 2, but I'm sure he will learn how to do it in a healthier way!

💔 Angsty headcannon - I have this headcannon that Raz will have a terrible dead due his relationships with the Psychonauts, at least in some alternative timeline or whatever. Basically, he would dig into stuff he definetly shouldn't be researching about (even if he was doing so just to fullfil his curiosity), and such research would led him to discovery the worst, shadiest things done by the organization. Confidential information about polemic psychic incidents, sanatoriums... stuff done for the government, that the government kept to itself. However, instead of stopping there, Raz would feel so mad and disappointed that he wouldn't stop his research, hoping to someday maybe fixing all the harm done. Did the government want it, though? Absolutely not! 🚫 So they chased Raz, aiming to eliminate him. But he, noticing the suspicious amount of dangerous accidents that were happening around him, started to doubt everyone, everything. He doubted the Psychic Seven, Truman, Hollis... even Sasha and Milla's true intentions. And the fear to see his loved ones getting hurt made him isolated... or almost, Lili was just too hard headed to walk away from her boyfriend's life. Until one day they couldn't hid anymore... and during a night mission, they died alone in a suspicious car crash.

🧸 Hurt / confort headcannon - after Psychonauts 2 ending, I can't headcannon anything but Raz finally reconciling with his family! After all, now that he realized no one never hated him, and now that the Aquatos are more opened to deconstruct their prejudices and accept their psychic side, I'm pretty sure things will be better. I mean... yes, I know that's not exactly a Raz headcannon, but anything would be more endearing than Donatella cooking Raz a huge amount of his favorite food, and after she silently watched stared him dinner, she would ask him to help her wash the dishes only so she could tell him about how she was not acting like the mother he deserved lately, about how she was sorry for having hurt his feelings... but of course without never saying these exactly words - she's still an 80s mother, after all. Or an embarrassed Dion talking with Raz while they cleaned up after a show, however, he ends getting so emotional after bear-hugging him that his eyes fill up of tears and he completely forgets about what they were doing before that. Now, Frazie surely would try asking Raz for some psychic training... in the weirdest way possible. Because first she wouldn't just talk with him, oh no! She would appear from the top a tree while screaming "HEY RAZ, CATCH IT!" rightly before throwing at him pinecone, in one of their old mind games. And everyday day she would play with him a different game, until he asked what the hell was going on... or until she finally got the courage to adress the issue.

🪀 Silly headcannon - Raz won't admit it to anyone, but the truth is that his job as a Psychonauts is the perfect excuse for his "pretending to be a super cool spy" childhood games stop seeming weird. I think he's a very imaginative kid, who's always creating new toys from scraps or new games to play with his siblings - specially when he's bored, or when Tala and Queepie are acting like if each one of them had eaten a whole package of sugar. Also, I guess he also likes to wander around all alone, or along his sisters (because they're just way cooler than his brothers) and visit all the tourist places in the small towns they pass by. I also love wholeheartedly the headcannon by @rachonaut on Twitter that Raz needs glasses but he won't admit it! LMAO

💤 Sleep headcannon - Raz is an easy sleeper. It doesn't matter if it's too light or too noisy. If he's trying to sleep on his bed, on the chouch or the floor... if everything is moving or still. He sleeps extremely easy, and once he falls asleep, nothing can woke him up but Frazie's way too loud snoring. Now, all of that stops being true when he gets distressed with something. Sometimes he's so pissed, afraid or anxious that he just can't sleep at all, not until he is certified that nothing bad will happen.

✨ A ship I like with this character - Lili, definetly! They're not only cute together, they also have an awesome dinamic! And as I already said on the first half of this ask game: they surely will develop a very strong psychic connection in the future, despite the many ups and downs they will go through as time passes.

🔪 A ship I don't like with this character - Sasha, or any other adult characters. Come on, that's straight up pedophilia and it's not acceptable at all! It's just gross, morally dubious (at it's best) and absolutely, absolutely illegal!

🎃 Something I think he's afraid of - besides fearing water like all the other Aquatos (oh gosh, I love how ironic their name is), my guess is that Raz biggest fear is to disappoint the ones he loves, specially his parents. I mean, that's actually something shown in both games, but specially in Psychonauts 1! During the Meat Circus, he's not afraid of dying at all - he's afraid to disapoint his dad, to not being able to live up to his expectations, and of not being loved because of that.

📦 Overall feelings about him - overall, I love Raz and that's needless to say! He's a good boy with a big heart and an awesome humour... he's complex, but not in an angsty way - let's be honest. The duality between his cool persona and his actual nerdy, way to excited personality is absolutely hilarious! 😂

📢 Favorite thing about him in canon - definitely, his humour. Raz has some hilarious puns and an immaculate sarcasm that must be appreciated!

🧨 Least favorite about him in canon - I guess I get so pissed about it because it's painfully relatable, but Raz, honey... YOU HAVE TO IMPOSE YOURSELF! Stop letting those adults to be so mean with you, you deserve better than that!

💬 Favorite line he said - honestly, Raz has lots and lots of awesome lines, so chosing just one of them was way more difficult than I ever thought it would be! 🤡 But after much consideration, I finally decided which lines will be honored today: the one about not drinking before noon, and the CAH CAH (or was it CAH-CAW? Was it hyphenated?) in it's entirety. They both made me laugh more than it's acceptable to laugh while playing games.

🔔 Unpopular opinion - I know that Raz is the fandom's darling (which is very reasonable), but portraying him as a little, helpless kid who suffers with what is just a projection of our own issues is just so wrong! Raz is a sweet but sarcastic ten years old, not a toddler who cries for his mama because someone was a bit meaner to him than usual. I know that self projection is perfectly normal, and that it's crazily easy to do so with characters we love. You absolutely can headcannon so many things as desired, but there must exist a line between a healthy amount of self projection and complete changes about how a character behaves to the point he / she / they becomes someone almost unrecognizable. The world isn't a shiny bunch of rainbows, and that's the best qualitie about Raz: he's strong enough to deal with life the way it is even though he will need lots of therapy later on . 😅

I absolutely hate how the fandom portrays Raz as not knowing some basic, extremely popular stuff about pop culture in general. He grew up on the circus - not in a faraway countryside or isolated tribe (and I'm saying isolated, because lots of indigenous communities have intense contact with our globalized society). And he grew up in the 80s! So even if indeed Raz didn't have access to telephones and television in a daily basis, he still got the radio, the magazines and the newspaper - all three things being available almost everywhere -, besides being exposed to the ridiculous amount of propaganda spread all over the cities! Saying that he' never heard of the most popular bands, movies and news is not only a big stretch... it sounds extremely prejudiced to me!

🔈A song that reminds me of him - is it cliché? Yes, it is. But how could I dare chosing any other song but Rasputin, by Boney M? That song is Raz, and Raz... is this song! 🕺 Simple as that LOL.

so guess what they released more interviews and i think given what a writing shitshow totk was and what they have been saying in all these interviews is actually painting a really bad picture; i dont have the time, nor the energy to go over every detail

but they were commenting on people wanting the more linear format back and aonuma himself basically said that he thinks people who feel like that do so only bc of nostalgia and "Why do you want to go back to a type of game where you're more limited or more restricted in the types of things or ways you can play?"

also i hate how they kept talking around answering anything about story/lore; they go asked how ganondorf even connects to ganon since theres nothign about it in game, and all they got out was welllll we dont wanna say anything bc its up to the player; about every question you got the answer of "make somethign up yourself" which is just ... its really clear they dont actually care but dont want to say everything is meaningless actually, so they try to be vague about it and with doing that really just confirm they didnt think about it and they dont care- so no lore actually matters, nothing thats been said or established has any meaning bc they will get rid of it the second it crosses paths with their new -more freedom equals better- philosophy, they say its bc they want you to be "free" to think up anything but apparently dont realize that when there are no rules, no consistent lore or anything that it ROBS it, it stops having meaning, its fun to connect dots only when there are rules you need to work with and dots to connect in the first place, when you have an established world with its restrictions it drives you to think more creatively about things- but when there are no rules?? its fucking boring!! thats what it is!!

when you discard all rules i wont care to get invested into anything bc i know it will not be considered again, be done away with without any reason and wont have influence on coming or previous games ... bc there are no rules, anything is possible and everything can be changed any second, so nothing matters

(they also talked about the many viral videos of those very few dedicated people that make godzilla mechs in totk and how happy they are about that- i get that to some extent, but the way they kept talkign about it really just felt like it confirmed my suspicion that that whole mechanic was mainly implemented to let people do that since that gets shared around en masse making it seem like that is why people enjoy it while neither the game nor the narrative are build around it in any way ..)
