I haven't played the patched Bayo1 or Bayo2 yet, but my question is in Bayonetta 3, why did they take away the whole using different weapons on Bayonetta's hands and feet? I thought it was really cool and different that she could. I'm guessing cause different timelines, different abilities or to show off the new gimmick of Demonic Masquerade.
Yeah, it's because of Masquerade mechanic. Otherwise I think the combat would be waaay too bloated. It's kind of very Astral Chain-like, hence why it's more limited with weapons, but there's like three summons avaliable so there would be too much to control. But I think they made up with a weapon variety (and the fact that almost all of them are usuable, not like bayo2 ones).
And they kind of made up with Viola, but I'm going to be real, her combat is just okay and I wish she was more polished. Like, you know, when Nero got introduced in DMC4 it was balanced. And i'm not exactly a fan how Viola play-style works. She feels to limited and with much less player expression choice. But I guess it's good she's not in that many missions.

Without spoilers, is the ost of bayo 3 any good? I've heard not so good things about the story, but I hope that at least the music will fill up my playlist once I hear the songs in the game. It's always my favorite part of the bayo games
i'm sorry if this might be so late??? 😭 Honestly, I would say it's pretty solid. I think it has it's misses from time to time, but as like for the "main" OST - it's great. Really loved the peaces they played in Jeanne sections. Mostly any battle OST does still slaps. Viola's theme??? Uhhhh, well it does suits to her, I wish it did played less in certain moments. Tho, personally, I think as for the main theme of the game, I do still prefer either Tomorrow is mine or Mysterious Destiny (there's like a perfect moment when i got to relisten it again and went "ah, that's too good"), but I don't think that Wishpers of Destiny is any form or shape is bad. It's just mostly different vibe. And mostly my gripe with is the lyrics... Well, if you know - you know. I could totally say that OST is still a banger, it's compitent and most of the time goes for the right tone. And I'm glad they almost abandoned remixing old stuff, except for iconic locations / references. it's much more original than the Bayo2 one. But not the main theme tho.

i think the worst thing about this whole Bayonetta and Luka thing, is that people assumed that Bayo is now straight and it feels kind of biphobic :(
Okay, listen, I'm going to talk about this once and just once, because its also a topic that was brought up when game just came out and know it's a bit more quiet and yet people bring it up. I'm just going to firstly say, I think this is a negative stereotype about bi people, when they are in relationship with a opposite gender that it doesn't make them less bi. Okay? Got it? So.
People being pissed or unhappy about them being canon aren't biphobic. For that to be a thing: A) Bayo would been confirmed gay / bi B) She would somehow show actual romantic interest in women (no, not like they did with Jeanne, just because there's subtext and else, that isn't canon-canon) Like, not only I haven't seen that being a thing, but like, people are not happy because it was poorly executed and overall a bit too late for the story to go this route (like them being a thing was in bayo1 which was 14 years ago. HOLYSHIT). That's it. Please, I'm begging you, do NOT give a credit for some form of representation to people, just because things were "ambigious" or "implied" (yeah, romantic troped were used, but that happens everytime). Intentionally or not, sure, they promoted Bayojeanne as a thing, but if anything it's most just the tease or usual shenanigans of big corpotate compaines. To sell bucks obviously. And like, I'm pretty sure Kamiya isn't aware what target demographic Bayo got in these years of her absence (or even before) and he keeps doing his own thing.
And also I think that's what happens when people think that fanon stuff IS canon. Don't ever get blinded just because things are massively accepted in the fandom (and that's isn't about ships, just in general). And lastly, i would say, their whole relationship is like that because Platinum has really talented devs, but poor writes.

:') Ever since the. Well everything with Bayo 3 started, I'm constantly reminded of the fact "wow I went out and bought a switch for this game right after the TEASER TRAILER dropped in like 2017"
(i mean i get a lot of use out of it but it's still so funny to think about)
SAME, almost what happened to me too! I bought it a bit early for both Bayos (but close to that teaser trailer too i think?), because while Wiiu is an alright game system, I'm not really a fan of it And I don't got much joy playing bayo1 on either xbox360 or ps3 because you can't switch on the fly to bayo2 if you feel like it (pc is way to go for bayo1 for me). And switch was perfect for that. Plus playing ANYWHERE. Got to do lots of fun with other games on switch, but maaaan, does some part of me still wishes the whole trilogy would be multiplatform at some point :( BUT THE FACT THAT I WAITED FOR. WELL. THAT. is roobloof oof sound

For what it’s worth it seems like they just changed it back to the original text that was there twitter(.)com/obsolete_woman/status/1596308230556160000?s=46&t=MwA5bBMUW7iztmWJ2rrHYw Kamiya clarified this too. Still think it’s dumb but at least it’s not horribly intended
Oh, thank god for that, cause I’ve never seen info before about the intended line (and it being the WiiU doesn’t help either, haven’t touched it in ages)  That makes me feel a little bit better, cause minor changes like that happened before (Climax titles changed to difficulties / Jeanne’s chest and etc.) GUESS just a wrong timing then!

@relelvance honestly? YEAH, like again, i don’t think that possibility of luka and bayo having a child in some universe is bad (because Viola is a kid of Bayo1 beta Bayo), but like it being an ultimate answer to the whole story? that is bad.  and i agree, i feel like, them dropping away paradiso and inferno and important plotpoints from bayo1 and bayo2 is such a weird decision. LIKE, SOME OF THEM AT LEAST WERE IMPORTANT. and it kind of makes me sad that even Loki doesn’t gets adressed in any way? like im not that hard against of the idea of multiverse (i was content with idea we would play cereza when earliest trailer dropped), but that just got nowhere
like, sure, it’s now an easy button to re-set / re-remake / reboot series, but man, i hate how that currently is solution to everything and noting matter

Do you have any problems with how different the torture attacks are in Bayo3? I mean I think it's interesting that we can do multiple ones on enemies, but the fact that we have to use demon slaves to stun them is weird to me. I get it, it supposed to be different, but whenever I do a combo, I'm expecting a stun then doing a torture attack. Sorry if it sounds weird.
No, I actually totally get what you're talking about! I think, once again, this game just wants you to do the knew mechanic they made and spend time on so that's why torture attacks are tied to demons slaves moves. Like, I suppose they made them relevant again and you can use them (unlike bayo2 *cough-cough*) and that's great. And them not lowering your score is also great, so like, you are for real can use it freely. Love the part that you can now multiples ones, but it is executed well.. rather restricting? Feels like just needs time to get used to. I would say that for overall gameplay part of bayo3, cause it's looks the same but sure does feels differently.

Why do people even say that Bayonetta 3 story sucked? Didn't like story was always bad in these games?
Okay, so here's one important thing I've already said before: Bayonetta 3 story is SO bad that people who didn't even cared in the slightest about Bayos story or thought it was bad before said / say THIS ONE was really bad.
And here's the thing - it's actual truth. Like sure, we can pretend that Bayos story was masterpiece here and it never done anything wrong but that's just a lie. By videogame standarts the story is bad, especially in recent years when storytelling has evolved. By media story standarts and is general it's even worse and even more rough. But thing is Bayos doesn't have to be more than just character AND fun. Because gameplay is what people are after (the general audience) and it's always been like that. Noone was expecting some God of War level narrative or even Nier that is riddled with good stuff. (you know, as more action game as an example) Like look at Metal gear rising in retrospect and how it's wacky story got more love over the years, despite being hated at start. BECAUSE IT'S FUN. AND BOTH BAYOS, with it's flaws but still, WERE FUN AND HAD CHARACTERS. AN HAD CHARACTER. Like the stories are a mess, but regardless of that, the characters were fun and therefore you as a viwer had fun. It had action pieces, there was drama (i'd say to some degree it's genuine), there was humor. And again I think one of parts that played into it - Bayonetta was a character I haven't seen in games before like that. Like her figurine and style was a priority, but she still SHOWN to have emotions - she cared for Cereza, she cared for Jeanne, she cared for Luka, she cared for Loki, she cared for Balder despite knowing his fate, same goes for Rosa, even if it was for a brief moment. Ahd these moments are memorable, some of the favorite parts for many people. And Bayo3 just doesn't have that. Bayo in Bayo3 is so stiff - no care for other versions not really (on the surface levels at best), her relationship with Viola is kind of cranky too like she cares but it's alright like it's probably the strongest one (ugh), no care for Jeanne (except some hesitation with Egyptian one I guess) REMEMBER HOW WORRIED SHE WAS ABOUT HER IN BAYO2???? SURE MISS THAT ONE. Sure love how she shoot her mother and barely shows emotion, SURE THAT IS FUN WHEN CHARACTERS DON'T GIVE A FUCK, RIGHT? OH THAT IS BADASS AHA. Even with Luka, it's like whatever, so supposedly the most important component of the story isn't there either. Like it was basic and not engaging in any moment. Like, it's just a simple formula imo: Baoy3 story is weak, because Bayonettas characterisation in Bayo3 is weak. I think the whole excuse of "well, that's Cereza not Bayo" is SOOOO lame. Like, she was a child, we've seen her as a child. IF ANYTHING, she would be MORE fun and MORE charasmatic and MORE joyful.
And, like, not a lot of action-slasher protagonist get development. Like, look at Dante - for his five games he's different in almost all of them and yet he saves the characteristics he has. Even if different people were writing him, they at least tried to be consistent and one important thing - even if they introduced Nero "to pass a torch" they didn't somehow a) killed Dante b) didn't killed his character, what he is and I think that just felt so refreshing when new character-kid gets introduced c) he still remained the most fun of the cast, because didn't took so seriously. and i hate when people compare them, but it's the best example of things done with action franchise rightfuly But Bayo3 is just tries soooooooo hard to be this serious narrative which it never should been in the first place. Like what could be fun than meeting four (plus two at end) different Bayos??? AND THEY FUCKED IT UP BY TREATING THIS CONFLICT SO SERIOUSLY, YOU DON'T EVEN GET TO KNOW THEM AND THEY JUST WASTED FOR NO REASON. Like at this point just make a fun ride. Instead cutscenes drag longer than they should, they are not as entertaining as they should, support cast gets aside but this Bayonetta can't carry this solo, Viola isn't there for long either so it doesn't commit to that part either. THIS GAME HAS A PLOT TWIST VILLIAN??????? LMAO BITCH??????? AND HIS MOTIVATIONS ARE CLEAR ONLY IN CODEX???????????? NEVER DO THAT?? (THAT'S REALLY BAD STORYTELLING) IN FACT A LOT STUFF IS IN THE CODEX????? LIKE U ARE NOT DARK SOULS, THAT'S NOT HOW LORE WORKS. Not to mention, I think this time the ending is the worst one out of all. Last bosses suck (they do in prevous too, but at least they are grand and epic or something), but you also have to sit through TWO endings and you get lame ass dance sequences at the end (the credits one is sooo much better). And it's just drags and drags, like it's not only shitty but story standarts, it's just shitty in a way it conveys things. I would say to some degree it's even worse. Like bad thing is already bad, but then it lasts longer - OOF.
