Hey Martyn! So, I got into your lore because of Grian's Life Series, and now I'm just trying to find some stuff out. Anyways, I understand most of it, though I do have a couple questions.
What actually are LOOT shards/crystals? I know that they're soke aort of corruption in games of sorta, but how do they get there, how to they affect the game, and also how to disable them. It's just something I'm wondering about since I know you have to find the one piece, of treasure, but how does it actually help?
What are CHEST agents? I know that they're something almost as evil as Cruppy, which is really saying something, but what actually are they?
Are there any extra lore bits in Rats SMP that you can't get anywhere else? I just wanna know if I should grit my teeth and watch it sometime, when I'm done catching up on the VODs of Pirates (can't make it to streams for personal reasons, alas).
If you've come up with it, is there any way that the Watchers lore from the Life Series ties into the datastream hopper lore? Those two just seem a little incompatible to me - hopping the datastream, being captured by mysterious godlike entities... Or are they just two separate universes?
Do you plan on posting the New Life streams on your vods channel?
Who in Pirates is p!Martyn closest to in each faction, overall?
Also, I think you may have mentioned it on stream, but did you take the faction quiz and if so, which faction did you get? I kid you not, when I took it I got Kestrels all three times (with changing the answers to stuff that I would still do, but different than first time, I mean). 6. Kestrels - probably Sausage, with Oli as a close second. Herons - Owen or Water. Owen has an inquisitive gene like Martyn and Water likes all things musical. Nightingales - Ros is so different to Martyn that it makes for some wholesome and chaotic interations, you never know which you'll get. Kites - Bek is basically the only one he's interacted with, he had a little banter on the seas with Kuervo but it was brief

I’m a female (she/her) , i have big heart, i’m funny, I like to relax, and I can be a bit of a grandma sometimes when it’s just me around the house, but otherwise i’m quite energetic . I love to chill and listen to music. I can have a bit of a short temper at times (I just think it’s because I don’t put up with peoples bs LMAO), I can also be very stubborn, i’m very loyal, like VERY loyal and I will always stick up for the people i love and go above and beyond to make the people around me happy. (which I think that can also lead me to being hurt or misused by friends)
I can be a little emotional at times, maybe a little dirty minded too lol, i love to cook, i’m a dog lover (really just an animal lover at that), and i’m competitive and passionate. I’m a very driven person and if it’s something I want to do i’ll make SURE it gets done. I Make up my own rules and I don’t give into unfair ideas that are put up around me. I lead with my heart and my emotions and if that gets me into trouble then so be it. i also LOVE scary movies, true crime, all that stuff, i’m also a SUCKER for reality tv 😭 (tlc does have some good drama though)
I would say I’m charming and it’s more of my words and my smile that gets the guys. I’m a bit of a germaphobe and maybe little ocd. Imma southern gal who’s very short, (5.0) I think I have more of an innocent look (despite my wild attitude LMAO) I have big brown eyes, wavy light brown hair, big lips, only like a couple light freckles on my nose ( you can see them better in the summer) , button nose, and an olive skintone that has paled over time, I would say I have more of a petite/hourglass figure but I think my chest is what catches people’s eyes (Im a size DD LOL) I have high standards, I can be very sympathetic, and I also can usually tell when people are in pain or when their vibe is off in general. I usually just joke or “laugh it off” and I can be very deadpan when something bothers me, or if it’s something that really hurt me I usually just shut down and become cold or distant. i’m an INTP, My hogwarts house is Hufflepuff ( even though I honestly thought I was a slytherin for so long 😭) My love language is physical touch for giving and acts of service as receiving (it’s really just the little things and showing that you care about what I’m saying or just being thoughtful). I grew up with brothers so i love watching sports and playing them (We grew up in a very competitive household lol) i’m very very family oriented, I’m a sagittarius, I like to play the piano, and read and write in my free time. and In the summers I love to fish and swim at my boathouse. And springtime is my favorite season.

Just… 1) the fact that it’s a lie… 2) the fact that Tab believed him??? Did he really have that little faith in you and your relationship????
The fight just blows up out of proportion, tears are shed, voices go raw, feelings DEFINITELY get hurt
Finally y’all just hit a wall so you just take Trigger out for a walk without saying a word
During the walk your brain just goes a million miles a minute

Road trip with the Bells Hell's! Who's driving, who's in front, who has control of the music, who insists they stop every 10 minutes for photos? Etc. Etc.
My genuine apologies for this answer also being a million years late. Here's hoping you see this answer somehow.
anyway, im honestly pretty bad at these kinds of modern-au fanfic style hypotheticals. (my brain is kind of bad at putting the characters into alternative universes?), so im not really going to claim accuracy to characters here. but some rough, purely-for-fun thoughts, assuming a modern AU with like. A car. multiple cars. I started just vibing with it by the end, so its a bit long. enjoy?
- Orym drives at least a part of it, of course! That said, he actually doesn't drive the bulk of it- he spends a nice amount of time sticking his face out the window and enjoying the ride. Napping while leaning against Fearne. Makes sure people are hydrated and stretch their legs, but ideally chills out too. ideally. (its so hard for me to imagine orym in a modern setting, much less an orym without his hypervigilant survivors guilt and protective instincts going haywire. orym on a roadtrip mostly makes me want him to be relaxing a little, Orym PLEASE).
- Ashton actually drives a solid chunk, and is also one of the primary people to ensure there are sufficient stops for people to get out and stretch their legs, uses the bathroom, gets food, and also has some absolutely wild fixes for carsickness that??? work????? he'd be instigating rowdy car games the rest of the time, maybe napping.
- F.C.G found a manual on roadtrips and is SO excited about it. He's figured out optimal times for breaks based on human needs and also Every Single Significant Landmark from here to there. His desire for Exact Breaks and constant enquiring is tempered by Ashton's pretty-solid instincts for these things, but they DO end up stopping for all the landmarks and photo ops. Its for all of them, obviously (its for F.C.G).
- This is okay because Laudna is ALSO extremely excited about these landmarks and photo ops. Look at those WILD ROCK FORMATIONS!!!!!! Look at this ghost town! Wow!!!!!!! :O :D Laudna is excited to drive, but I'm not sure she does so for very long. she also does puppet shows to help pass the time during travel.
- Fearne is also benefitted by the frequent stops. and the puppet shows. its not that she gets antsy but... she gets a little antsy. everyone is in the car with her. you know. she has a good time though! she also offers to drive. the offer is not accepted.
- Look, lets be real, Imogen might have a pretty rough time stuck in SUPER close prox (car if we're putting them in modern times) with everyone, as much as she might love them. Im almost certain that due to the universe's love for tormenting her she would be more prone to carsickness. sorry imogen. that said, everyone's collective efforts probably even it out somewhat. she ends up in shotgun out of kindness, and probaboy has a lovely time at the stops and seeing the wilderness and whatnot. maybe less fond of tourist traps.
- Chetney calls shotgun based on seniority, but throughout the trip ends up ceding it to the others who might benefit from it- Imogen if she needs the space, Ashton if the squished backseats and touching are doing a number on him, Fearne for her height. He also drives for a portion, citing that he doesn't want the whippersnappers to drive them to their deaths (and giving everyone a break as needed). He WILL complain about everyone else's music taste but lets them change it around.
- I have no idea about the aux honestly. Driver gets dibs but usually ends up ceding it to someone. They cycle through everyone's music. It is usually drowned out by rowdy behaviour and excitement unless everyone is napping. Then Imogen or Orym's music gets put on because Ashton and Chetney's would be too aggressive for that and Laudna and Fearne's scares people slightly. F.C.G's playlist is just top 20 pop hits and whatever Dancer would have listened to. Disaster lesbian stuff probably.
- Roadtrip games include:
-- various forms of fuck marry kill verging from hilarious (gus is IN A RELATIONSHIP), to concerning/trauma based (should we be suggesting delilah here????), to deeply philosophical (can you fuck ruidus as a concept?).
-- i spy but with multiple arbitrary rules tacked on
-- ghost stories (no one said it was ONLY a campfire tradition)
-- a few rounds of what the fuck is up with that

-- "can you light this on fire?" a game suggested by Fearne and immediately vetoed by everyone, the cowards

- This is a modern au so i guess they won't be attacked by monsters but they need to have at least 1 flat or something during the trip. it all works out though.
-- chetney has one of those travel sets of chess with meticulously carved pieces. half of the party doesn't know how to play chess. its very fun.
-- puppet shows. IMPROVISED puppet shows. its a disastsr.
- oh my god the stories that pop up from the rest stops they visit though

I thank y'all for being here. I thank myself for being here. Somehow you and I made it through another year and another Akward Class Favorites and that is a win in my book. I do this thing, whatever this is, because it brings me joy. Regardless of all the missing pieces or the things that will show up later cause I lost them in the couch, I'm still trying my best to show up for that joy. Before I officially close us out though, we gotta phat playlist to listen to. I'm also gonna add in some life-notes, cause I like to talk and I overshare and what better way to do that, than through an annotated playlist. This is not a strictly 2023 playlist, but the 2023 songs will be clearly marked.
There is a story or flow that I tried to create once again, but you do not need to know any of that to follow along with the playlist. You can listen in order, shuffle, pick and choose, do whatever you want.
That being said if you’re following along from the beginning and reading along, the anecdotes that follow many of the songs aren’t really apart of that story, they’re just extra pieces of sometimes “personal” information that I include because it’s fun for me.
When I’m collecting YouTube links for these songs, I’ll often find a live or alternate version that I really like and will share that instead, or in addition to, the original/studio version. I will note when I do this, however the full Spotify playlist will have the “correct” version.
And to make sure I included the YouTube links in general, the formatting for the whole post might be a little off, sorry.

Low, soft, warm lighting and like idk why but falling asleep at dusk/dawn when the sun is just setting/rising simply hits different for me. Also just general cozy vibes even if i don't often "use" them i guess to actually go to sleep but i do love some good old it's raining outside, candle/fairy lights, pillowforts e.t.c. atmosphere
Do you love gargantuan Youtube video essays, and if so, which is your favorite and why?
I'm kinda bad at choosing favorites of things but at the top of my head, a video essay that actually managed to make me tear up/cry/changed my brain chemistry:

Oooh, definitely a thunker. 6w5’s tend to be characterized by the rationality and reliability of the Sixes and the curious, knowledge seeking of the of Fives. This makes you a lovely match for Avior, because we know that know-it-all loves that.
The whole sarcastic thing Avior has got going on for him would make him so fun to talk to. He’s thoughtful, intelligent, eloquent; discussing philosophy, fiction, language, anything with him would be an experience. He’s got the charm and wit those devil advocates on Reddit wish they had.

What is recom week? How does it work? Is their going to be a prompt list to write from each day? I'm just confosled sorry lol.
Heya Anon,
We have a small FAQ and Rules on the blog already if you want to take a peak.
But yes, it's a fandom Week event. As you guessed it's a series of prompts and you create fan works for any of those days using these prompts (even loosely). We're doing three prompts per day, for 7 days, with an extra hidden (and difficult) prompt for the 8th day for anyone who did every prompt in the week and want to claim a last minute challenge. I played with that concept the first time I ran a week and it was surprisingly popular.
You can use all three prompts if you're feeling wild, or two or one, and if none inspire you, you can skip the day or use a free pass and pick your own topic. When using all three prompts, I mean combining them. Like "betrayal/secrets/whump" can then be a story about a recom learning RDA secrets and deciding to defect, only to be wounded and die before they can pass that knowledge on to the Na'vi who rescued them.

A very lovely anon requested that I make a playlist for my personal favourite toxic blonde, and I just couldn’t say no. I delete my playlists on Spotify/Youtube too often for that to be a viable format so I decided to just make a graphic + a list so y’all could go through it in your own time and pick & choose what songs you liked and didn’t to add to your own playlists, if you wanted. Below are the songs listed in the graphic, some of the lyrics that secured them a place, and some honourable mention songs that I wanted to put in but ultimately decided against. ok time for a post with a selection of short playlists made for similar reasons… these are all related to mental health/mental illness or even neurodivergency in some way
the first one was made for a meme where people sent me prompts (moods, titles, words, etc.) and i’d make ten song playlists! i can’t remember the exact prompt as the ask was long but it was basically about when it’s fall and everything is falling apart and going wrong but it’s all okay for some reason. so the vibe here is more acoustic and sad yet calming.

this one is a personal one i made for myself but i wanted to share it! it’s not a finished playlist and it will probably never be. don’t be fooled by the title! these are songs i listen to to basically calm myself down during intense emotion, paranoia, and anxiety. most are slower, more sad songs because high energy and happy songs will make me irritable when i’m like this.

Hello!! I was hoping if match-ups are still open, I'd love to give it a shot! ⭐
I'd say it's a little tricky to describe who I am since I'm very used to just taking to heart how other people describe me- usually people say I'm very bubbly, outgoing and extroverted and while I do have a very long social battery I only like spending a lot of time with close friends and families and I don't like going out of my way of switching up my routine. I would also say I'm not adventurous on my own since that stresses me out.
I'm SHORT (4'11") and I dress VERY femininely and it's very easy for anyone to spot me because they see a pink/pastel blob approaching from the distance. I always love wearing bralettes and skirts and glittery make up. Also I'm not very self-aware of my body ONCE I'm out and oh man there's been a lot of times where my skirt was blowing or my shirts ruffled. My friends (or strangers) always have to let me know about fixing that whoopsies. So if there was a bimbo element to me it'd be that.
In my free time I focus mostly on drawing and creative writing, I also like focusing a lot on listening to my music and creating playlists or reading poetry. I also like rotating my hobbies with crafts, I like making jewellery, sewing clothes, etc. and I'm also a very generous gift giver for my loved ones and I always try to add a handmade element to gifts every year.
In terms of my background, I'm (almost) done my bachelors degree in Communications and I major in a specialty program that focuses on humanitarianism with digital design, I also took a couple of background courses on psychology (focusing on mental illness, neurodivergence and theories of personality) to help out what I need to know in my program. I've also spent a long internship on helping out with some non-profit organizations and learnt a lot there.
I often find myself around a lot of 'introverted' people and I like being around those that are strong conversationalists, I like speculating about the world and thinking about niche things in detail. I also like trying to put in my best effort to help improve the lives of my loved ones and I want to see them flourish (unfortunately it does take out a lot of my social battery than I realize).
If I had to put myself as a civilian IN the MHA world, I'd be someone that's awfully perceptive on how hero society has failed a lot of vulnerable people and that there's this large misunderstanding (and lack of support) for villains and why they do the things that they do. I'm heavily concerned how that doesn't seem to be changing any time soon and it results in ME feeling like I should be doing something about that instead.
I guess I have a natural yearning and calling to help those that don't have a good support system because I know what it's like to feel at rock bottom, as I grew up with anxiety and depression (luckily I know how to take care of myself now and how to handle that). Despite all that, I feel a lot of people describe me as someone that's optimistic and it helps push them forward.
Hmmm I guess some other things about me is that I do have a decently big friend group where my girls are pretty protective of me since they kNOW I'm inclined to find the most emotionally-damaged blorbo ever. If I ever had to introduce my partner to them, they'll tear them to shreds (in a good way) but oh man are my friends sassy.

-Every time without fail you were going to see this man at the same time on the same days during the week. You met him at your favorite corner store (and likely the only store in the city that held a special snack you discovered by accident when you stopped in there one faithful day. Well you suppose it must be his favorite store too right? The man that came in here to buy his cigarettes. One day you ended up talking to each other. Your hand reached to grab the last snack from the shelf and bumped into his hand lightly. “Huh?” He paused and pulled his hand back before looking at you for a second. “Ah, my bad. You eat these things too?” He asked as he reached to grab the pack off the shelf and hand it to you. “Don’t blame yah. These things are damn good. Caught them by accident last weekend when I was hungry and bored.” He spoke to you. “Oh uh yeah...these are really good. I didn’t know you liked these. I see you a lot and usually you’re buying a pack of those smokes back there behind the counter. I’ve never seen you grab anything else before.” You smirked at him and he chuckled. “Yeah, that’s because you haven’t seen me at night. The names Jin by the way. Jin Bubaigawara. And you?” He reached out to shake your hand. “Y/N.” The two of you ended up sitting at one of the tables outside of the store and chatting with each other. To him you seemed a lot more energetic about stuff than he’d be himself. It was a little funny (and cute) watching and listening to you go on and on. Eventually you two became rather good friends with each other.
-He admitted he liked being around you. He knew it was a big deal when you offered to hang out since it was a switch in your routine you’d otherwise ignored had it not been for him. Often times the two of you would just meet up to talk around some pond or lake somewhere or maybe even just sitting in his car in the parking lot and listening to music while munching on snacks together. Other times he’d be over at your place doing his own thing while you worked on art or writing. Sometimes the two of you would call-in for dinner and watch some dumb show on your couch (or mostly on a blanket pile on the living room floor. At first he was comfortable being just friends with you. He felt like there was a protective aspect to it somewhere. Sometimes he’d have to fix your clothes riding up in public and he got genuinely angry if some asshole tried to holler (hit on you). He became rather defensive of you, often waiting for the day to knock some loud mouth out if they commented on your height or your cutesy fashion sense compared to him. Probably about a week or two after your last hang-out session he was tossing and turning in his sleep. He woke up with a start and realized that he had feelings for you. After a wild argument with himself he finally decided to confess to you over text message. You read the message and didn’t send anything back. He was devastated until the next day when you showed up at his door with a handmade bracelet just for him. You accepted his feelings and he was over the moon after that!
-Although he can tend to be a little odd sometimes it was still really nice being with him. Dating him was like dating two (or maybe even three) different people at a time all in one body. Sometimes he was introverted, quiet and hard to read. You could never know what he was thinking as he stood by the window smoking and staring at the birds making a nest in the tree nearby. Even if he was quiet, you still knew you could talk to him and he’s quickly respond back. Other times he was all over the place, bouncing with excited and talking off the walls about different things here and there. Then came the more interesting conversations he had when his personalities seemed to be at debate. Those were rather funny to witness when he was in a good mood of course lol.
-He liked who he was when he was with you. You listened to his gripes and complaints about how society has treated him. You went as far as to offer your help in the League movement but you know he wasn’t going for that! You responded to him like he was a person and not just some filthy villain on the streets. You treated him with such kindness that his heart felt like it would swell and burst at the seams any minute now. You read poetry to him, sewed up his ratty and tattered clothes, loved him in all the ways he didn’t know he needed or that he thought he didn’t deserve. He tried his best to return the favor. He was affectionate with you (all of him), and he supported you even on your worst days. Sometimes if you maybe come home stressed or tired from your school or work he tends to communicate with tight hugs that take your breath away. He also makes sure to motivate you to continue your studies till the finish line, but he won’t put down on you if you EVER needed to take a break between then too.
-The only thing he has a rough time with at first is meeting your friends. He’s not angry or sensitive, but somewhere oddly in between. You take him to meet them at first when he’s mostly...himself. No mask or anything on his face. He can handle it for the majority of the lunch date but he definitely has a hard time understanding the vibes they put off. “Do they hate me or not???” He questions you later that evening when you get home and you just laugh before reassuring him. The next time he meet them is when he’s more energetic and bubbly. Maybe then he does a little better with the sass. He can give it back 10 times better and he also takes jokes very well too. Lucky you to have a guy like this at your side!
