Bruce: I pissed off Jason to the point he decided to take out stitches in my uniform… it fell apart as soon as I put it on
Dick: That’s the thing with pissing off a ‘dead’ man. He’s got nothing but time

(The meme is not by me.)
If you fancy learning more about me and my writing, feel free to venture below the cut.
KindListener/ArcaneChariot are the main usernames I go by on Tumblr/AO3/X/etc.
I write for many, many, many pairings, such as; Borsalino/Taro Midori (OC), Cap Hatfield/Theodore Stanhope (OC), Don Pierce/Kurt Ackerman (OC), Dorian Grey/Basil Hallward, Eli Klaber/Stephan Wolff (OC), Shang Tsung/Liu Kang, The Corinthian/Alistair Moreau (OC), Viktor Vector/V as well as a whole bunch of /Reader stuff and that's just scratching the surface! Recently, I've been writing Henry Christmas/FTM!Reader/George Moody, Herbie (Gypsy)/M!Reader, Nicky Frazer/M!Reader, Tristan Farnon/Gordon Abram (OC) and other pairings involving Petey characters.
Honestly, I don't read all that much that isn't my work because I'm usually writing, studying or planning to write.
I've always been a writer, even back before I was on the internet, back in the olden days. 👴🏻👴🏻 I once made a TA cry after I unknowingly wrote a gorefic when I was 11. I still feel bad about that...
The first fic I wrote and posted was actually a gift for my brother. It was a Dorian Grey fic because we were both into the movie at the time.
My favourite fic is difficult. I've written a lot that I'm very proud of, such as this Don Pierce fic, this Miracle Guy fic (don't knock it til you try it) and my most recent Trissy fic. But, honestly, I take pride in my art and I try to give people the best content possible.
I couldn't really say which one has been my hardest fic. Honestly, I just kind of give the fic a starting point and some themes/plot-beats and then I let it run it's course. The hardest, I suppose, might be 'The Angel and the Preacher' because it made me question my own spirituality and morality which was quite intense.
Hmm... Research... Honestly probably either 'Safe Haven' or 'The Angel and the Preacher' because you may not realise it but there's a lot to giving birth/being a priest who struggles with his faith/etc. I remember watching so many videos on labour and giving birth and just frantically writing down notes. Still, they were interesting fics to write.
Honestly, the fics most near and dear to my heart tend to be ones I work on with friends; whether that be RPs (like I've done with @the-broken-quill and Lu) or fics that have had art drawn in tandem (like 'The Angel and the Preacher' with @bludpudding's beautiful, beautiful stained glass artwork). I really like sharing my hyperfixes with my friends and making art together. 💛💛
My favourite trope (if you could call it that) would probably be writing trans/intersex characters, usually FTM. As a FTM person myself, I can write from the perspective of a trans person (of course, not all experiences are the same but I tell it from my perspective) and I enjoy getting to get those thoughts and feelings down on paper because it's definitely not represented enough in the fanfic community. However, if we're talking about kinks and things that tend to come up in my work, it'd probably be giving oral or face-fucking or like a daddy kink or something. ISAOJVISAJVVUSDJ
This is detailed on my Caard but I don't write straight, necro, rape, scat or underage content (even though I've been asked to write these previously). F/M content; I don't write straight stuff because I can't really relate to straight people RIP. Necro; I feel it's disrespectful. Underage; just no. Scat; is gross (sorry, scat fans). And rape/SA; I have personal experience with so I don't enjoy sexualising/glorifying it. I have written rape recovery stories, like with this Campion fic, but otherwise I can't stand it.
I couldn't tell you about my favourite scene but I do enjoy the scene in this fic where the Second Corinthian returns to the grave of one of his victims and is approached by the victim's brother. It's a scene about redemption and it was really nice, expanding on the Souvenirs comic like that.
I get my inspiration from many different places. Sometimes it just kind of pops in your head and you're suddenly planning out dialogue for a specific scene and sometimes it's just little scenes like this (where Tris is pretending to be a dog and, of course, I get thinking about pet play)...
The hardest scene I ever wrote... It may be the beginning of this fic, where Devon (my OC) gets the idea to pick up a homeless person and dress them up for a gala they're going to, in order to keep themselves from being forced out of their rich family. It's difficult juggling the struggles of not being accepted by your family, disability and homelessness. Of course, none of them are equal and all are horrible issues to have but trying to keep the main character sympathetic in such a situation is definitely difficult.
My favourite characterisation might be in 'Safe Haven'. Seeing Don Pierce go from being this rough, tough mercenary to the caring father of twins was definitely a journey that I had to go on with him.
God, I want to write continuations to so many fics. The first choice would be writing a continuation to 'The Angel and the Preacher', which is in the works but it's a very emotion-heavy work so it requires absolute concentration and I'd be scared of it not being as good as the first chapter. Possibly a sequel to this fic but, again, I'd be scared of it not being as good as the first part.
This is all my OC work ever. Because OCs take a lot of getting used to and a lot of characterisation and a lot of lore-building, I feel like a lot of readers just want something they can pick up and instantly know what's going on. But I'm also guilty of being lazy and not wanting to do all the world-building and character design and lore so I'm just as bad. But, whenever I post a Character/OC work, I'm always scared that my views will go down and that's definitely reflected in my stats. Still, when I do write for my OCs, I really enjoy it.
"Mmmnn... You're not a shark, you're a puppy, but I can work with that. I'll make you the cruelest, most devious mutt at the firm... Soon enough, you'll be able to rip your colleagues apart and you'll thank me for it. Isn't that what you want?" (from an unposted Callahan WIP.)
'WOW that was amazing! the story, the characters and of course the second part. i was giggling and blushing like a little innocent girl. thank you very much it's a great work!' Honestly, it's the little things. People don't have to pour their hearts out to me and gush about my work. Just little comments like that make my day. 🥹🥹
I have so many WIPs and discontinued works, whether that be from just switching hyperfixes or being booted out of a fanbase. 🥲🥲 But, for the most part, I manage to finish my fics, even if it's like getting blood from a stone...
Personally, I'm subscribed to bludpudding, FanFicReader01, QuoteMyFoot and ZeroEchoBravoSeven.
I would recommend some fics but I just spent ages doing the links and Tumblr didn't like it so like just here's the link to my bookmarks. Go wild.
This was really fun! I hope you got something out of this and maybe even added a couple fics to your reading list.
If you got this far, I love you and I hope you have a wonderful day. 💛💛

Part 2 of Why I Ship Zutara
(and why Kataang took the short way out)
*this time with pictures* (it’s longer than the previous but worth the read, bare with me)
part 1
GAang Dynamics
(see Katara and Zuko’s portions I couldn’t figure out a way to incorporate them fluidly)
RoyalTeaLovingKookiness explains the GAang’s dynamic as well
Katara is (the G)Aang’s Mother/Older Sister Cont. (and character develpment)
In the GAang. Katara “adopts” Aang almost as soon as she bends him out of the ice
She almost always looks after Aang, keeping him on task, helping him learn, being the rational voice they all need to hear sometimes
With Toph she’s less of a mother and more of an older sister that tries to steer their junior in the right direction (they bud heads and have a couple fights, but manage to have fun together and help with what the GAang needs)
She has to unlearn how to be a kid/teen because she learned to be a mom first
She bears a lot of the emotional work and trauma for the GAang, even before Zuko appears in Book 3
In Book 2 & 3 (mainly) she learns that she is allowed to be fun, immature, and selfish with what she needs/desires (which was something she’s been made fun of & had to apologize for)
She realizes and embraces the fact in Book 3 that she can be an individual person that follows what she wants without having to worry or care about what the others thing she should do (this also happens in the NWT, Ba Sing Se, and various places in the Earth Kingdom) (she becomes more assertive in what she needs/wants)
Zuko: the dad the gAang needed
He’s obviously educated (both in & out of banishment)
(Leadership skillz) He’s commanded a ship at 13
Has worked for a living wage at 16 (as seen by Jet, he can (barely) handle customer service)
When he was accepted into the group, he channels the only responsible adult he knows-- Iroh
making tea, reckless outings to help others, thinking ahead of oppnents and obsticles, letting them vent, providing shelter when they needed cover, dad jokes (”leaf me alone!”), and being a human shield
Look at FrostGaurdian’s post for more
Zuko’s Nature
In the Zuko Alone episode we can epsically see that he’s been in the shadow of his younger sister Azula
Throughout Book 1 he threw tantrums left and right
With his obession (read: hyperfixation) on honor, he was stuck in his “failure” against Ozai when he was 13
/\ \/ he relapses into this thinking when he joins Azula in Book 3
He took advantage of Iroh before they separeted, and even then he searched for his approval and validation
The Warped perception of Love and each other
It may not be obvious but Aang has an idea of Katara in is head that is not like her in the SLIGHEST (see Southern Raiders section)
He even points it out in the comics
Tumblr media
Image description:
*13 and 12 year old Aang and Toph are discussing what it’s like having a crush*
Aang: “Believe me, Toph, I know what it’s like to have a crush on someone, it can blind--” *Toph is unamused*
Aang: “ Yeesh, Sorry. What i’m trying to say is, sometimes you can like somebody so much that it affects your perception of them.”
Toph: “Kind of like how your perception is affected by your fuddy-duddy traditions”
With Katara in the comics it points out the “right kind of love” but referencing Zuko’s sacrifice in protecting Katara
Tumblr media
Image Description:
*Hakoda talking with Katara about love*
“So you know that the right kind of love-- the kind that’s real, that sacirfices--that kind of love doesn’t blind you. It actually helps you see“
In both instances it shows that Aang is putting Katara in a pedestal and doesn’t see her for who she is because of the crush he has on her.
The Fortuneteller
*Also even though Aunt Wu tells Katara she’s to marry a powerful bender it could’ve been anyone, not just Aang. Zuko, Azula, or Toph (maybe even be single forever and reject it all together because she’s a master bender) were also candidates. She didn’t get any more specific besides powerful bender*
a lot of the information that I gathered is from wednesdaywildheart’s post
This episode shows how Aang’s crush is just a crush, using Meng as an example
Meng points out how both their names rhyme “that rhymes with Meng!”
The Parallels
Like Aang is with Katara, she’s 2 years younger than he is
The “sparkles” show up when they both see their crush and plays the same music
They have tried to flirt the same way with their crush (and were both brushed off when their crush showed disintrest and indifference)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Differences
Towards the end of the episode, Meng realizes and acknowledges that Aang doesn’t return her feelings and advances. She even tells Aang that she supports his feelings towards Katara
(This doesn’t happen until Book 2) When learning more about the Avatar State, and the Spirit World from Guru Pathik, Aang had to open all 7 chakras, however he couldn’t open the seventh (the Thought Chakra), refusing to let go of is attachment to Katara, blocking himself from the Avaatar State (which bit him in the butt (or back) when he faced Azula)
(of course this could be because he’s 12, and hasn’t learned the difference between between, lust and Iove, platonic and romantic attraction yet)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ember Island Players
Catie-does-things goes in depth with analysis of this episode
You can’t tell me this wasn’t one the most Anti-Kataang, Pro-Zutara, Anti-Zutara, Anti-All three of them episode (besides Fortune Teller and Southern Raiders)
Even though the play is a mockery retailing Books 1 & 2, it does give a possible reason why Katara would choose Zuko instead of Aang, (“the Avatar? He’s like a little brother to me!”) and she even used a similar phrase in Book 1 (“he’s a cute little guy like Momo!”)
Aang was lowkey OOC here, when it was stated by Actor!Zuko to Actor!Katara “aren’t you the Avatar’s girl?” to which Aang nods, a grim/serious look on his face (because of this he literally confuses canon with fanon, and at the intermission confronts Katara on a statement she never said herself, instead taking to heart what an actress portraying her said)
Literally one of the very few episodes where these two talk about their feelings toward each other (and it ends terribly)
Because Aang is 12 (and frozen for 100 years), he may not (completely) understand romantic and platonic boundries, getting upset at Katara, and not reading her (uncomfortable) body langauge before kissing her
Direct conversation from the episode:
Aang:“But it's true, isn't it? We kissed at the Invasion, and I thought we were gonna be together. But we're not.” Katara: Aang, “I don't know.” Aang: “Why don’t you know?” Katara: “Because, we're in the middle of a war, and, we have other things to worry about. This isn't the right time.” Aang: “Well, when is the right time?” Katara: “Aang, I’m sorry, but right now I’m a little confused.”
To be continued in Part 3.....
some of what will be featured:
Southern Raiders (supposed to be here but this is wayyyy long)
Parallels
(Blue Spirit & Painted Lady, All Book Endings, Red & Blue ships, Lightning and Blood Bending, Oma & Shu)

I wrote my pros and cons for the “Asterix” cartoons in Discord, might as well put them here.
Asterix the Gaul
+ faithful to the comic + catchy theme song and Getafix's tune + cute Roman spy - cheap animation; a lot of animation is reused, especially Asterix's walk - Asterix and Obelix look weird and too simple - the part with the ox cart guy singing is too damn long and has nothing interesting to look at
Asterix and Cleopatra + faithful to the comic + somewhat better animation than in the previous cartoon + Asterix and Obelix look better than in the previous cartoon + the theme song is a remixed and extended version of the previous cartoon's - cheap animation - 2 out of 3 songs can be cut out without losing a part of the plot. I read the food song was removed in the Dutch dub but I haven't checked it
The Twelve Tasks of Asterix + original and good plot + animation no longer feels restrained + villagers introduction + 4th wall gags + Caesar telling Brutus to stop playing with a knife as he "might hurt someone" + Obelix low-key admitted he ate a shapeless monster. Que Caius Tiddlus' reaction. + The House That Sends You Mad, Asterix and Obelix barely holding their anger, Obelix and the house's habitants losing their sanity + catchy theme song and lots of nice music overall - animation frames and backgrounds look messy
Asterix Versus Caesar (sorry, this one came out very short) + decent animation - this cartoon feels much less fun than the others and there's something depressing to it; this cartoon has always been my least favourite Asterix in Britain + decent animation + mostly faithful to the comic + running gag of Stratocumulus slipping and sliding on the floor, breaking statues in the process and annoying Motus; the last time he slips he doesn't break anything, and it's Motus who accidentally beheads a statue + drunk Romans scene + Dogmatix got his own episode + the Brits, lead by Asterix and Obelix, defeat the Romans without the magic potion simply because they were convinced the tea was the potion and were full of courage, while the Romans were afraid - I always skip the game scene because I find it boring Asterix and the Big Fight (this one turned out the longest, blame my hyperfixation with the Roman spy) + good animation + Getafix hallucinates Cacofonix being a rockstar and singing well + adorable Roman spy + German dub only: the spy quietly sings about his job and possibly feeling homesick + nice music - there could be more music - Prolix using a fish as a puppet should be funny, but... - the second half of the cartoon may get boring - The spy never appears in any media again, what happened to him after the ending is left open to interpretation. The potion's effect may have slowly worn off and he returned to earth (which is what I hope for), or he died from starvation/dehydration still in the air, or the potion's effect wore off while he was still far from the ground and he didn't survive the fall - misleading English title and its translations, as this cartoon is more adapted from "The Soothsayer" than "The Big Fight". The "big fight" the comic was named after isn't in the cartoon so IDK why they chose to name it like that - There are 2 English dubs: the UK and the USA one; the UK one came out first and was taken more seriously, unfortunately it's badly preserved and apparently it never came out on DVDs; the American English dub uses dumbed down and extended dialogue, a narrator and name changes... and many dubs are based on it Asterix Conquers America + good animation + After accepting the offer to... well... "do drugs", Asterix has a nightmare about the Gaulish village being burned by the Romans, Obelix has hallucinations and wrecks the whole place in panic + Lucullus throws Dogmatix in the sea, and near the end he gets eaten by the panther off-screen. Karma! - despite Obelix saved the Indian girl's life, was cured by her and they had sympathy for each other, she never appeared in any media again - poor music
Asterix and the Vikings + excellent animation + Cryptograf is cunning, but his son Olaf is a complete imbecile, it's fun to watch them talk - this cartoon panders to teenagers, I think average users of this site would like it more than long-time "Asterix" fans. TBH, I wasn't fond of it even when I was 12 - not enough Asterix and Obelix
Asterix: The Mansions of the Gods + surprisingly decent 3D animation + nice alteration of the comic's story, with the Roman family having a child, their role being expanded and them teaming up with the Gauls + the legionaries refuse to attack until they're convinced the Gauls don't have any potion and their centurion asks them politely - Asterix's face seems a bit off, especially at certain angles - Anglaigus' bare butt gag
Asterix: The Secret of the Magic Potion (have you noticed that both 3D movies use "Asterix: ..." titles?) + the 3D animation is more colorful and lively; the characters got highlights in their eyes giving them more life and cartoony feel + original story allowing us to see and know Getafix and Cacofonix better + Asterix loses his shit and puts Geriatrix in his place, and the wings on his helmet become limp and lifeless + Sulfurix's flashback uses sketchy 2D animation + Getafix builds a giant centaur out of the Romans and the legionary in its head can't contain his excitement, then Obelix replaces him and launches Sulfurix into space - not enough Asterix and Obelix
