guys i have been in a state for days. i am giddy i am gasping for air i am broken inside i am blushing i am sweating i am twirling my hair i am suffering i dont know how to deal with the very real possibility that nandor has loved guillermo for years and has been restraining himself, feigning aloofness, keeping his distance, because all these years he understood that maybe guillermo would never be ready for vampirism - and maybe hes been so depressed in the latest years because hes finally found someone he wants to spend eternity with, and he strongly suspects he will spend eternity missing them instead
#i truly truly truly dont know how to deal#this season recontextualised the whole show for me#if i shipped nandermo before now i am absolutely batshit crazy about them and its all i think about#wwdits#wwdits spoilers#what we do in the shadows#nandermo#this is just speculation but i just - i feel it in my bones#like fuck imagine having been alone for 800 years. fuck. imagine losing lover after lover and being kind of a disaster at romance actually#imagine finding someone you so easily connect with and theyre so amazing you love them so much they can even hold their own against you#and fuck they like you back. and then you understand that they are too fundamentally kind to be a monster.#and its like a fucking stake through the heart its like youre made of glass and youre shattering#i hate this and i swear to god. they need to end up together. not just to end up together#they need to spend the rest of their lives together and ideally eternity tbh#i dont care gizmo you get over the killing hangup and have nandor turn you and spend eternity in#bliss and shenanigans. like man. man. man. i love how this season turned out i really do#but i hope its more of a ‘he had not thought it through and wasn’t ready and also we need to have nandor do it fr’#anyway nandor becoming human is also ok but i really hope that they find a way to navigate guillermos inability to kill#like. nandor killing for him or him robbing blood banks or him only hunting predators etc#or him feeding without killing people#just bc i still really like the concept of them having so much time together and their time together not be limited#i feel like after all those years pining for one another. they deserve that

guillermo's morals are so fucked up like yes i will kill hundreds of vampires for my friends, yes i'll lure hundreds of humans to their deaths at the hands of vampires, yes i'll then dismember those bodies after watching my master and his friends feast on them, yes i will watch this happen in real time for 13yrs after idolizing the lifestyle since childhood - no i will not kill one single human after finally achieving my dream of becoming a vampire because the smell of his shampoo made me cry after realizing he was a person and not a bag of blood for my newly awakened desires

"Gizmo" vs. Guillermo
I don't have a super deep analysis here, I just want to get this out of my brain so I can think about other things:
I find it FASCINATING how the name Gizmo lives in this show and in the fandom.
"Gizmo" is clearly disrespectful to Guillermo. It's a mix of "I don't care about you enough to know your real name" and the classic racist move of "Your name isn't anglicized enough for me so I'm going to change it to something more comfortable for me."
Being disrespectful like that isn't really all that surprising from the vampires, because they're... well they're vampires. They don't give a fuck about humans, and that extends to familiars with the added mix of "you're also in our face all the time and that makes you twice as annoying."
But what's interesting to me is that, then, the name "Gizmo" travels into fandom. But in fandom it's affectionate. Gizmo isn't said as a lazy and disrespectful name replacement. It's said like a nickname given to a brother or cousin. It's said with love and affection and kindness. So the effect is totally different.
And to me that shit is absolutely fascinating. It shows the inherent flexibility of intent. It's also a really interesting example of how this fandom manages discourse very differently from other fandoms.
It's just fuckin' interesting, man. I love it.

marwa saying she likes what nandor likes bc of the shitty little wish he made and then only a few scenes later she's all over guillermo and smooshing him and cuddling him and kissing his face and being such a little sweetheart towards him... i know what you are nandor, you emotionally constipated little shit.

Season 4 thoughts
I don't know if season 4 was actually that bad or if people watching it on release were disappointed with the leaks and spoilers, but watching it now it didn't seem that bad.
It definitely was worse, don't get me wrong, the Freddie episode was the worst one by a mile for me, but the others weren't as bad. The storyline with Laszlo and Baby Colin actually really enjoyable, and placed Laszlo up with Guillermo in terms of actual character development. It seems like there's a very small group of people Laszlo lets himself care about, but he cares very very deeply about them. This was clearest when he was Jackie Daytona, he was in a town for a week, ended up befriending everyone and sponsoring a local sports team. Acting human gave him permission to let himself care about them, and now his best friend is his human neighbour and he's raising a kid. Also letting him sing more in the show is always a plus.
Nadja's story and the nightclub didn't hit as well as it should have imo. I'm not sure how to put it into words but the nightclub felt less like a part of the story and more like a B plot setting whenever they needed one. She didn't get any proper personal growth at the end, really didn't seem to care that the nightclub would be gone after she burned it down, and then the reason for her opening and burning it in the first place was fixed when Colin Robinson became an adult again and had access to their bank account. Nadja didn't get any personal development except a couple of references to drinking a lot and possibly (probably) getting closer with the Guide. I do want to point out though that her going along with Guillermo's lie about being his girlfriend and helping him with Nandor's wedding planning isn't something she would have done a season or two ago.
I have to say I didn't like Nandor since the beginning, but season 4 made me hate him. His story arcs were always just boring to me, especially as I didn't care for his character, but season 4 just took it to the next level. It felt like the first three seasons were him being dumb and selfish with (very) occasional flashes of caring for others, and the season 4 he was actively destroying the lives of multiple people. Lots of things are played for laughs but time and again he's proven himself to be the most selfish person in the house. The Marwa storyline doesn't need rehashing, I think everyone has the same opinion of it actively having tainted the season, but it really just made me completely give up on him.
Guillermo and Nandor's relationship has always felt more like possessiveness than actual romantic attraction, and as Guillermo has started discovering himself more and more (and Nandor's showing progressively worse sides of himself), Guillermo's story has been more about him becoming his own person. I don't think the writers will let him become a vampire, either Nandor is somehow going to stop him, Derek's going to refuse to do it, or possibly something involving wishes. That being said though, I hope he does get something of his own that lasts for more than an episode or two (relationship, new job, vampirism, etc).
All in all, not a bad season but they just didn't do enough with the story and did way too much with everything else. Some of the characters got great development, some became massive assholes, and some got none. For a 10 episode season it felt like there were too many filler episodes, and then at the end none of it seems to have affected anything except for Laszlo and Guillermo. Time will tell I suppose, and probably I would have said something similar about season 3, but the end of season cliffhangers need to be addressed in a more meaningful way.

Scene from @vampireshmampire 's fic "I Accept"!!
(ID in alt and under cut)
ID: 1. Wide shot of Guillermo and Nandor in Nandor's crypt during season 4 episode 1. Guillermo, wearing a white bathrobe with his hair in messy curls, stands up in shock from his chair and questions, "Wait, wait - you decided to get married, but you dont know who you're marrying?" Nandor stands facing the viewer, his back to Guillermo, and flaps a hand at him dismissively, replying "I will find someone." Guillermo shoots back "Are you sure that's-" 2. Reverse shot, close up as Nandor whips around and interrupts, "I knew it!" He grins excitedly with shining eyes, pointing a finger into Guillermo's face. Guillermo jerks back in shock, squeaking out a "Wha?" before Nandor interrupts him again. "I knew you would be jealous!" 3. Zoom out to full body, Nandor now turned away from Guillermo and looking very smug, grinning with arms crossed, one finger tapping at his cheek. Guillermo, flustered, holds up both hands defensively and steps forward, insisting, "I'm not jealous, I'm just saying-" Nandor interrupts again with "You think I shouldn't get married at all, hm?" Guillermo: "What? No!" 4. Close up of Guillermo aiming a placating grin up at Nandor, hands out. He says, "If you love someone enough to want to marry them, great, good, I'm totally behind it! But if you don't even know who you're marrying that's getting married just to be married-" 5. Zoom out, Nandor plants his hands on his hips and leans over to smirk knowingly at Guillermo, interrupting "Ohh, so you think I should marry someone I already know..." Guillermo stares at him, confused, and replies "I mean. Ideally." 6. Close up in profile as Nandor leans in with a huge grin and points a finger in Guillermo's face, accusing, "You think I should marry you!" Guillermo jerks back, red-faced, eyes wide." /end ID

it means SO MUCH to me that nadja actually called out to guillermo for help when she was struggling against that doctor. like. it's one (already huge!) thing for her to be protective of him and wanting to get him away from that place and back home. but it still sort of lies within the usual vampire/familiar dynamic where the the familiar "belongs" to the vampire and so is theirs for them to do as they please, ykwim? nadja wanting to take guillermo home can be read as a more extreme form of that possessiveness (we know it isn't, but it could be). she even tried to pass it as exactly that when she said guillermo was nandor's (/theirs) to kill. but when she called for him for help? that was something else, entirely and undeniably. it proves that she sees him as someone she can rely on for help and protection when needed, someone on her same level. it takes trust and vulnerability for a vampire to rely on someone like that, especially on a human. and she did it. and guillermo, despite being incapacitated (between the bindings and the drugs in his system), came through for her and protected her like she protected him!! found family at its finest, i'm so happy!!

So… I’ve been turning all this over in my head since last night, and I wanted to make a post about vampiric transformation as sex, and how it’s being used in wwdits as a metaphor for sexual repression, sexual freedom, virginity, and cuckolding.
Before I even get into the obvious metaphors about virginity and cuckolding, I think we need to talk about the elephant in the room. Guillermo’s sexual repression and how that’s come to find an outlet in his vampiric longing.
Guillermo is highly repressed, sexually speaking, but I don’t think he’s asexual. He’s shown interest in sex several times, but in an uncomfortable “this can’t be for me yet” kind of way. He was clearly raised Catholic and has internalized a lot of that shame re: sex, especially gay sex. He wants intimacy, but he’s also internalized the idea that wanting these things is dangerous and shameful.
But… the vampiric world seems to symbolize all the things that Guillermo wants but cannot have. He wants to be strong, powerful, attractive, and sexually liberated. As much as their openness about sex embarrasses him, there’s a certain longing there, too. He didn’t just want to be handsome as a vampire — he explicitly used the word “sexy.”
A vampiric Guillermo is a version of Guillermo that gets to have sex. Loudly, proudly, and without shame. It’s a version of him that is wanted, that wants, and who gets to have the precise kind of intimacy he's always craved.
Now, how much Guillermo has actually done sexually is still up for a lot of debate in fandom, but I think that’s kind of immaterial. For most of the show, Guillermo clearly wasn’t having the kind of intimacy that he wanted to be having, and he only started to even begin to allow himself to seriously consider all that in s4, when he got a boyfriend and came out to his family.
As being gay and wanting to be a vampire.
Guillermo is finally starting to own both his homosexuality and his vampiric life, and that means he’s finally starting to explore sex.
Now… At the end of s4, I talked about how Guillermo going to Derek in the finale had the air of a person who’d been fantasizing about losing their virginity in a certain way all their life — but then they finally give up on those dreams and hire a sex worker instead. There’s a resignation there in Guillermo that he couldn’t get it “the old-fashioned way,” he’s disappointed and jaded when it comes to intimate relationships, and now he’s tired of waiting for love and just wants a business transaction.
I wasn’t quite expecting for them to push that metaphor even more in s5! The money aspect was almost forgotten (Did… Derek even take the money? Why is he still cleaning toilets?) but the scene with Derek biting Guillermo was clearly a metaphorical virginity scene.
Guillermo’s nervous eagerness, his growing realization that this wasn’t actually the way he wanted it to happen. Asking Derek if he’d ever done this before and figuring out if he was “ready.” Taking off his clothes (that his grandmother got for him, even, that’s a whole meta post right THERE) and trying to make the vibe “right.” His insistence that though Nandor had never done this for him, they still had a caring and intimate relationship.
But… it was also a metaphor for bad sex. Many people lose their virginity in a way they don’t find satisfying, and Guillermo definitely seems to fall in this category. It was awkward, it was bloody, it hurt, his partner didn’t listen to him, they weren’t on the same wavelength, they didn’t connect, there was no emotional bond, and most importantly, he didn’t feel changed.
Like a lot of people do, Guillermo thought losing his virginity would change him. He’d be cooler, sexier, more powerful. His station in life would change. He’d become an adult his ideal form. But he’s still just Guillermo.
As he told Laszlo, as soon as he did it, he regretted it. He immediately knew that he’d been right, that this wasn’t the way he wanted to do it. He wanted to do it with someone experienced who loved and cared about him, who listened to him, and he wanted that person to be Nandor. But he wasn’t patient, he paid an inexperienced acquaintance for a one-night-stand instead, and he was left feeling deeply unfulfilled.
Most upsettingly, he immediately discovered that, like virginity, you can’t lose it twice. He can’t just have a do-over with Nandor now. He’s given something up that he can’t give to anyone else, and he’s going to have to live with the consequences.
Because like sex for humans, transformation has social implications in the vampire world. It can only be done in very specific situations. Guillermo seems to have grown up in a human world where sex should only be happening within a heterosexual marriage, and now he’s finding that in the vampire world, transformation is only supposed to happen between a master and familiar currently in a contractual bond.
So… him going to Derek and finding “outlet” in another relationship, so to speak, is effectively vampirically cuckolding Nandor. He’s given that honor to another vampire, which Nandor seems to find both vampirically humiliating and personally hurtful. It would in fact hurt him so badly that he would probably not survive it, in Laszlo’s words.
(There’s also definitely an element of an abusive “if I can’t have you, no one can” vibe in Nandor’s threat to kill Guillermo and then himself if Guillermo got what he needed from another vampire, but since when have we ever liked them well-adjusted?)
Guillermo is realizing that, as much as he’s been thinking of this in sexual terms, so have the vampires. He thought he was the only one who thought it was a big deal. He thought he was the only one placing intimacy and partnership and loyalty into this event. But now he’s realizing that as much as it meant to him, it might have even been a bigger thing for Nandor.
For Guillermo, vampirism-as-sex represents the idealized transformational aspects of losing your virginity. He’d built up this big event in his mind that represented his intimate bond with Nandor, he’d built up this idea that the event would change him, would make him better, would make him free. But he’s finding, like many first-timers do, that sometimes it’s not transformational. It’s just awkward and disappointing and the only thing that’s changed is that you ache in the morning.
He still doesn’t have the intimacy he wanted. He still doesn’t have the ability to be loudly himself. He still hasn’t been able to fully own his sexuality and ask for what he wants. He wasn’t ready. He didn’t enjoy it. He regrets it.
He also regrets it because now he knows it will hurt Nandor and the relationship they’ve built. Because for Nandor, vampirism-as-sex represents the societal aspects of sex. The rules people follow. The societal humiliation you feel if you’re cuckolded. The personal agony you feel when you’re cheated on. The sense that your home is broken if your partner goes to find satisfaction with someone else.
Guillermo, who has had to deal with societal disapproval of his desired type of sex in the human world his whole life, was viewing vampiric transformation as a way to be free of all that. The shame and the repression and the societal penalties for being himself.
But he’s just found himself in a mess of new rules, hasn’t he? Different culture, same struggle. And while the vampiric world has always symbolized a sexual liberation that both repulses and attracts Guillermo, he clearly doesn’t have as much freedom here as he thought.
So… to sum up, Guillermo always kind of thought of transformation as losing his virginity. He associated vampirism with sex, and he thought this would be his entrance into the sexual world. He wanted to have an intimate experience with Nandor, but eventually gave up on that and decided to pay for it — and then immediately regretted it, both because he found it personally dissatisfying and because it came as a betrayal to the man he loves.
The problem is that he thought he was the only person thinking of it as sex — he didn’t realize that Nandor does, too, just in a very different way.
Nandor was also thinking of vampiric transformation as this special act, and one that belongs only to him as Guillermo’s master/partner. He was thinking of it in intimate terms, but also in societal partnership terms. He’s thinking of his household, while Guillermo was thinking of things on more individualistic terms.
If only they’d both talked about all this shit even once. :’)
But that’s not how we do things here in Staten Island!!! We just long for things ineffectively, keep secrets, and fuck everything up!
(There’s also a whole thing here about how Nandor wasn’t keeping his side of the relationship bargain and that’s why Guillermo looked elsewhere in a moment of weakness, but I guess that’s probably a separate post. This is long enough already.)

The day Guillermo slaughtered a theatre of vampires, Nandor looked up and actually saw him. 'My name is Guillermo de la Cruz' burned like a silver knife in his brain. And that's the day Nandor started rooting for him.
Making him a bodyguard, insistent that's what he was. Watching him so carefully. 'Push back. Break the rules. Talk about yourself. I can't do it for you. If I do it for you then you've already lost.' Guillermo slapped him and his eyes lit up. Guillermo fought him, and he only wanted more. Guillermo said 'I can kill you whenever I want, I choose not to,' and it's what he was waiting for.
Nandor stands at the train station, feeling awake for the first time in months as he considers all the variables. The normal bite won't be enough, not for a Van Helsing. He'll have to drink someone right away, just to be sure. Will it feel the same for him, to hunt a human the way Nandor's watched him hunt a vampire? Maybe if they do it together. Maybe there's a lot that Guillermo can do very easily, if they do it together. Maybe there's a lot Nandor can do, very easily, if-
(...he's not coming. Well, familiars have balked at less.)
--
It's such a genuine surprise when he reappears. Why everything happened doesn't matter, exactly; Guillermo doesn't fight to get any of it back. He's so angry, so ready to leave, and by all rights Nandor should let him. But all he can feel is the instinct to stop him. Perhaps if he has actual love in this house, something to fill the void... Maybe there's one more thing Guillermo can do for him before his exit.
It's a strange year. Guillermo is not in his service, so much as he's a friend charged with service. His mind is so pulled in different directions - raising the Colin-creature, helping at the club, buying his gaudy new clothes that aren't vampire-like at all. Talking on the phone, sometimes in the other language he speaks, sometimes in secret whispers Nandor doesn't try to figure out.
If Guillermo doesn't want him to know, then he doesn't. He can't begrudge him a life outside this house anymore. It's like Guillermo has remembered how to be human.
Maybe he has. Nandor takes him to fight, wants to see that fire in his eyes again, but Guillermo only wants peace. They never talk about him becoming a vampire. Guillermo doesn't ask once. At the wedding, Guillermo promises to always be there when Nandor is afraid. Nandor wonders what 'always' means to him.
When he meets Freddie, things click into place a bit. Nandor is happy for him, truly. Suspicious, of course - this is a stranger in their home, one who clearly doesn't know their secrets. But such a kind and engaging stranger. And intriguing, like a little secret corner of Guillermo Nandor has never been able to reach. Nandor has been so lonely lately, he keeps getting everything he wants and yet he's lonelier than ever -
Nandor fucks up. Nandor fixes. Or does his best, anyway.
Guillermo goes to London one day, comes home with a look in his eyes like something broken. They don't talk about it.
Guillermo is back to dusting. He sits beside Nandor and smiles, placid and friendly. 'So, what's next?' But he doesn't ask. And Nandor can't ask it for him. That's not how this works.
--
And suddenly, Guillermo is a million miles away. Suddenly, Guillermo would rather be anywhere than with Nandor.
He talks about being a vampire for the first time in a year, but there's a strangeness to it. A wariness. When they laugh at the idea, he doesn't push back. There's no fire.
Something is wrong, honestly wrong, but Nandor can't bring himself to think about it seriously. Guillermo still runs from even the thought of their orgies. (So it can't be what he's thinking of, can it?) Their first big crisis as a household in a while, their bodyguard is nowhere to be found. (Is he a bodyguard anymore? A familiar? A lot more like Laszlo's familiar, these days...)
'I'm not going to be around forever.' Well, fine. He can survive that. He's survived far worse, and so has Guillermo.
And Guillermo is not just here right now, but is alive right now - wonderfully, blessedly alive - and Nandor won't be forced to think about his death for a while yet.
The one thing he knows for sure is that Guillermo would never do anything to hurt him, to hurt any of them. And maybe that's why it never worked out. You have to do so much more than survive, to be a vampire.
-- When everything that happened becomes clear, when his rage fades to anger fades to acceptance, there's still responsibility. Responsibility to his familiar, responsibility to his friend.
And when Guillermo's heart is too full, and spills over whatever bloodlust he had, Nandor wishes he were surprised. Guillermo has iron in him but it's been forged into a shield, after all this time. There are no little leftover bits Nandor might have helped him shape into a pair of fangs.
Guillermo can feed a family, or defend one, or defend himself. But he won't kill unless he has to, and his own survival - or his own happiness - is not a 'has to'. Fine. Guillermo has fought for him. Nandor can fight, too.
His own anger still needs a more constructive place to go. So he looks at Guillermo's wretched sire - who never even wanted to be a vampire, and then made a vampire so thoughtlessly. Who hasn't come to see Guillermo, who couldn't figure out how to help him, who doesn't even know that he's in pain.
Nandor drives a stake into the heart of a vampire. And it feels good.
Maybe now, he can also be angry at himself a little less.

the man with the hex // liam lawson
Tumblr media Tumblr media
summary: he stayed to hand out candy but actually just wanted to make out. unfortunately, hungry kids won’t wait to ring the doorbell.
pairing: liam lawson x female! reader
warnings: allusions to sex, liam is a horny teenager, very suggestive but no smut, reader gets baby fever real fast and liam has a dirty mouth. I am incapable of writing anything wholesome about this man, apparently.
"jesus fuck!"
"y/n y/m/n y/l/n, watch your language!" her mother shouted from the kitchen
next to her on the couch, liam snickered, pulling her closer. guillermo del toro's 'cabinet of curiosities' was playing on the screen, and y/n had been jumpy throughout the whole episode.
y/n was a gentle soul. she preferred cozy mysteries, and humorous action thrillers as opposed to straight up horror. sure, the pillars of the slasher genre were wonderful films (she's first in line to see any new 'scream' movie), but she did not do well when she was genuinely scared.
"sorry, mom!" she shouted, resting her head against liam's shoulder. "liam has bad taste in movies."
"it's one episode!" the kiwi laughed. "i'm sorry, you can pick the next movie."
y/n rolled her eyes, getting up from the couch to hug her parents goodbye. she and liam had agreed to stay in that night, allowing her parents to go to an annual charity event thrown by one of her fathers friends. her sister was at a party, and as someone who had a quiet, peaceful life and wasn’t always invited to things, y/n was extended a chance to stay at home.
of course, learning that they would have the house to themselves, liam was all too quick to tag along, for less than wholesome reasons. while y/n had planned a couple's movie night, complete with matching hotel transylvania costumes and a stack of scooby doo movies, wheras liam had planned to get her to scream in more ways than one.
y/n got up from the couch, her nylon-clad feet skidding across the hardwood as she went to hug her parents. "bye guys, i'll see you in the morning."
"have a great time, mr. and mrs. (your last intital)!" liam shouted
"no funny business with my daughter, lawson. and no drinking." her father scolded, pointing his finger towards his daughter's boyfriend.
"dad! we're adults, i think we can handle ourselves." she laughed, giving her father a hug before her parents went out the front door.
she closed the door behind them, leaving it unlocked and the jack-o-lantern on the front porch turned on before backtracking to the kitchen and refilling the candy dish she and liam had been snacking from.
"you'll have to keep an ear out for the front door, but other than that, do you want to put beetlejuice on when this is over?" she suggested, bringing the candy bowl back over to the couch and curling into her boyfriend.
"i dunno, your parents are gone, i kind of hand something else on my mind." liam grinned, one hand trailing up her thigh.
"oh yeah?" she purred, maneuvering herself into liam's lap, poking his nose before kissing him softly, her blue lipstick smearing against his skin.
liam cupped her face with his free hand, his other arm going around her waist to pull her closer. she hummed contentedly as she nestled her body into his, taking his top lip in between her own.
“your lipstick tastes good.” liam remarked, lips ringed in the dark blue cosmetic. “like blue raspberry.”
“you’re such a dork.” she giggled, brushing an errant blonde hair out of his face before kissing her lover again.
liam moaned into it, feeling himself grow harder every time that her thigh brushed over his crotch. she was driving him wild, the end of cabinets of curiosities forgotten as they made out like teenagers.
the doorbell rang, startling them both as they jolted on the couch. y/n pulled away from liam, wiping the smudged gloss from her swollen lips before getting off the couch and reaching for the bowl of cadbury chocolates across from her.
“trick or treat!”
there were three kids standing in the doorstep, each dressed as a different superhero as they held pillowcases out in front of them as she dropped handfuls of pocket sized chocolates into the bags.
“you kids have a great night.” she chirped, waving not just to the kids, but to the parents waiting on the sidewalk before slipping back into the house.
she left the plastic candy dish on the front bench, a grin on her face as she went back to the living room. liam hadn’t mailed from the couch, one hand over his eyes and the other clutching a throw pillow over his crotch.
“seriously, liam?” she laughed, reaching for the tv remote. “come on, we have to be aware of our surroundings. little kids are going to be knocking on the door all night.”
liam groaned. “sounds like hell to me, babe.”
she shook her head, grinning as she used the remote to navigate over to the amazon icon to rent ‘beetlejuice.” she was just about to hit rent when she felt a pair of arms wrap around her waist.
“liam!” she shouted, giggling as he nuzzled his cold nose into the tender flesh of her neck. “you know you’re just gonna get interrupted again, right?”
“don’t care.” he hummed, pressing kisses up and down her throat. “babe, we finally have the house to ourselves and I am so fucking horny for you right now.”
she giggled, extracting herself from liam’s hold to teasingly bend down near the coffee table, placing the realtor back on the glass top. at the sight of her skirt riding up over her orange and black nylon tights, the lacy hem of her panties visible through the nylon as she bent over, the kiwi could hardly contain himself.
especially when there was another ring of the doorbell.
this time, liam offered to get the door, almost dropping the candy bowl as he tried to get the door open, shaking hands unable to grasp the doorknob as be tried to get his breathing under control.
“woah, are you liam lawson?” one of the kids shouted, his voice echoing through the street. “I watched you on tv last week!”
despite himself, liam laughed. “right on, kiddo!” he held his fist out for a fist bump, kneeling to the kids level. “hang on just a second and I’ll get my girlfriend out here to take a picture of the two of us, yeah?”
“you seem cheerful for a man that didn’t want to hand out candy.” y/n chuckled from the doorway. “come on then, pass me his iPod touch or whatever and I’ll get the best fan pics he’s ever seen.”
the kids eyes lit up as liam moved to crouch next to him, matching his height almost exactly as y/n snapped a few pictures.
“your girlfriend is really pretty.” the kid said, giddy as he took his iPod back. “are you guys going to get married?”
liam laughed heartily, tactfully avoiding the question as he asked the kid what his favourite part of the race in qatar had been, dropping a handful of cadbury chocolates into the mummy shaped bucket.
once the kid was gone and the door was closed, he wasted no time in pulling y/n close and sliding his hands up her dress.
“someone’s eager. if anyone should be exited after watching you interact with kids, it should be me.” she giggled, kissing his cheek.
her lipstick was dry now, and liam found himself slightly disappointed that it didn’t leave a mark.
liam raised an eyebrow. “oh, yeah? so in addition to making you scream my name tonight, should I fill you up with my cum? start practicing for when it’s time to get you pregnant?”
she nodded eagerly, wishing for nothing more than liam pressing her up against the foyer wall and taking what he wanted. what they both wanted.
“fuck.” liam breathed, his breath warm on her skin. “you’re really hot when you have baby fever, you know that? and that kid wasn’t even a baby, he was like five.”
“shut up and kiss me, lawson.”
but just as liam leaned in, the fucking doorbell rang.
he cursed, throwing his head back in a groan as y/n gave him a sympathetic smile. she picked up the candy bucket, dutifully opening the front door and greeting the horde of kids who had chased each other up the driveway and around liams bmw.
while her back was turned, distracted by handing out candy, liam reached his breaking point, scrambling to find a piece of paper and a pen.
please take one handful each, and ring the doorbell if bowl is empty. we are home but enjoying a scary movie night and my girlfriend is jumpy :)
when y/n turned away, closing the door behind her, liam was quick to grab the bowl, whisking it away to the kitchen and ignoring his girlfriends confused look as he practically overfilled the bowl, taking on the sign and leaving it on the cast iron bench outside the house.
“now, where were we?” he grinned, pulling her in for a kiss. she broke out into a smile, knowing exactly why liam had done what he did. “that bowl is almost full, it will keep the kids occupied for a very long time.”
“what if someone takes the whole bowl? what then?” she giggled, playfully teasing her lover, hands gently rubbing at his shoulder blades.
“then I’ll buy your mom a new one.” he decided, paying the matter very little attention as he swept his girlfriend off her feet, carrying her bridal style towards the stairs. “now, my fair maiden, you bedroom awaits.”

The finale has me thinking about Laszlo and how much kinder he's allowed himself to be as the series goes on. As he said in episode 9, vampires aren't supposed to show care, and besides his open fondness for Nadja and Sean, the Laszlo of the first few seasons fit that mold. He was a creature of self-involvement and pleasure. Then Colin was about to die, and for the first time, Laszlo placed someone else's interests before his own. He befriended and later raised Colin as his own. Sure, he still struggled with opening himself up to Colin and listening to his wishes, but the care was there. And then Baby Colin grew up overnight and forgot their time together. Yet Laszlo couldn't do the same. He couldn't go back to not caring, so when Guillermo was in trouble, of course he helped. I don't think it's a coincidence that he tried to hide his concern for Guillermo under the veneer of scientific curiosity just like he did with Baby Colin. But truth is that he didn't want ANY of his housemates to get hurt, and he liked guiding Guillermo through the vampiric process. He was even gentle with Guillermo in his own Laszlo way, encouraging his powers and even trying to apologize to Guillermo for not being able to fix things. I cannot imagine Season 1 Laszlo apologizing for anything. That's vulnerability. That's opening himself to potential ridicule and pain because Guillermo needed to hear it. All throughout the season, Laszlo's been doing little kindnesses like that. He let Nandor feel important during their night out when he didn't need to. He noticed enough about the Guide to remember the exact date they all complimented her. He helped Guillermo get Derek to the Necromancer when it would have been easier to keep out of it. Laszlo cares, and the longer the show goes on, the harder it is for him to pretend he doesn't. He's more than just a hedonist and questionable man of science. He can be a good friend, too.

Ok so while I was watching 5.01, I noticed in the scene where they’re at the restaurant and Nandor is talking about the idea of having to kill Guillermo if he gets turned by somebody else, the scene is shot with Laszlo positioned in between Guillermo and Nandor
Tumblr media
I noticed it in my first watching, but I didn’t really know what to make of it besides the very obvious schism in their relationship. I did lock it in the back of my brain though, since the show runners do tend to frame shots in specific ways, and I didn’t think it was a coincidence that Laszlo just happened to be in the way
But NOW, we have the end of episode 2 where Laszlo finds out about Guillermo’s turning and tries to help him, and we ALSO have the teaser for episode 3 with Nandor bitching about Laszlo and Guillermo hanging out more.
So uh… this may be a bit of a stretch, but given how this scene is very specifically about how Nandor would have to kill Guillermo if he went to get turned by someone else, I think Laszlo’s going to play an important part in that. I like to imagine that it would be coming to Guillermo’s defense, but given how unpredictable this show could be, it could just be him walking in on them trying to kill each other and saying “so, you COULD do that, OR we could just have a threesome and go on with our day”
