Feeling called out by this post 🫣 Posted @withregram • @somaticexperiencingint Repost from @ellirichter • Hi beautiful! Do you ever hold back from sharing something or asking for help/support bc you didn’t want to ‘burden’ others? Do you frequently feel like ‘too much’? I hear you 💓 It’s a very common conditioned subconscious program and stress response It also reflects codependent tendencies (which 99% of people have, so no shamesies), especially the role of the ‘rescuer’ When we are in that role, we unconsciously place our worth into giving and productivity, and are very good at that, and not so comfortable at asking for help, and receiving These patterns stem from subconscious programs & trauma and can be unlearned 💓 #subconsciousmind #psychk #codependency #addiction #neuroscience #wholebrainteaching #neuroplasticity #rewireyourbrain - #somaticexperiencing #somaticexperiencinginternational #ptsd #trauma #nervoussystem #therapists #traumahealing #mentalhealth #resilience #fight #flight #freeze #research #massage #yoga #exercise #psychology #seresearch #moveyourbody #traumaeducation #somaticexperiencingresearch https://www.instagram.com/p/CfOrUTpLUqW/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Posted @withregram • @somaticexperiencingint Repost from @luminousinnerlight • A trigger is an event or memory that sparks an intense emotional reaction. Triggers often stem from unhealed past trauma. ◇ Our body stores unprocessed emotions or unhealed trauma from the past! This is why whenever we come across situations similar in some way to the traumatic experience from the past, our brain perceives it as danger and our nervous system goes into fight, flight or freeze mode. Our body acts as though we are experiencing the trauma all over again! ◇ Our nervous system would trigger a stress response, even if in reality the new experience is not necessarily a threat like in the past! Our nervous system is doing this to keep us safe and protect us from possibly getting hurt again. ◇ When triggered, one enters an endless (thoughts-emotions) loop.. with thoughts overwhelming us and unpleasant emotions following the thoughts. ◇ This is how a seemingly ordinary situation triggers a fight, flight or freeze response in some people and could manifest as rage, avoidance, loneliness, sadness, anxiety, panic, etc The good news is.. it's possible to heal from trauma* and feel safe! When we understand our triggers, do the inner work to heal and release unprocessed emotions from the mind-body, the triggers will eventually not seem significant. Offer compassion to yourself and know that your trauma is not your fault. *Please seek help if triggers bother you on a regular basis. 🌟 Follow @luminousinnerlight for more posts on healing. I wonder how many of our Responsive Parents are feeling burnt out these days? 🤔 Posted @withregram • @somaticexperiencingint Repost from @thepresentpsychologist • 12 Stages of Burnout - Burnout Series Part 4 As mentioned in the previous posts, the term ‘burnout’ was first mentioned by psychologist Herbert Freudenberger. He also created the 12-stage model how a burnout can develop. These are the stages: 1️⃣ A need to prove yourself: when you really want to show what you can do, enthusiastic about taking on responsibilities 2️⃣ Working harder: feeling the need to work more to reach goals 3️⃣ Neglecting needs: disruption of sleep, proper eating schedule and not interacting much on a social level 4️⃣ Displacement of conflicts: dismissing problems that are present, becoming anxious 5️⃣ Revision of values: values are changed, so work becomes the most important thing you focus on 6️⃣ Denial of new problems: there is an intolerance to mounting problems 7️⃣ Withdrawal: turning away from social life and searches for ways to relieve stress (like alcohol for example) 8️⃣ Odd behavior changes: it becomes clear to people in your surroundings that you have changed 9️⃣ Depersonalization: your own and other peoples needs become irrelevant 🔟 Inner emptiness: feelings of being empty inside and looking for ways to compensate 1️⃣1️⃣ Depression: feeling completely exhausted and lost, no energy 1️⃣2️⃣ Burnout syndrome: total mental and physical energy depletion, medical attention needed Are any of these stages familiar to you when you suffered from a burnout? Comment your experience below👇 Follow @thepresentpsychologist for more insights on mental health and psychology 🧠.
