and i will Always take an opportunity to talk about godgame but fair warning this is now the third time i am typing this out and it WILL GET LONG because autism has taken hold of me. but you gave me the prompting for which i sincerely thank you. eveyboby must now learn about The Most Batshit Fucking Insane Card Game Feasibly Possible

basically: godgame is like if yugioh was DND and actively harmful to the human psyche. it can never be released to the public due to extreme copyright infringement. there are thousands upon thousands of cards. half the cards are nonsense bullshit. half the cards are genuinely cool as fuckto see in action. half the cards just break the fucking game. half the cards make you stop playing godgame. there is overlap

godgame is played like this: when your opponents’ HP reaches zero, you win. it’s split into chapters, which last as many turns as there are players plus one. each chapter, one player is designated god, and they get to choose the environment for that chapter by drawing the top three from the environment deck, putting one at the bottom of the deck never to be seen again, putting one at the top for the next god to decide on, and putting one in play. at the start of the mext chapter, you Usually discard the previous environment unless specified otherwise

environments are basically the setting of that chapter, and they change the game rules For that chapter and thwt chapter alone with some exceptions. they can range in location from home from undertale (which heals everyone’s HP every turn), abandoned water treatment plant (in which one of your cards must babysit Sippie Blue for their turn or else you are neglecting him and he will Die), megaman stage select (in which you actually draw Eight additional environments, give them all HP, put them all into play at once, and they last until they are killed), gaster (who straight up fucking resets the game and you have to start over), among many many others

each turn, you can buy additional cards from the shop, attack (or set Up to attack) your opponents, or draw an explore card. sometimes these are consumables or attachments which can be given to your other cards and do things like heal HP, turn you into the joker, make everyone Else do something, change status effects, etc pretty simple

sometimes there are bosses, visitors, or phenomenons in the explore deck, these are usually Fucked. one visitor is called Not Worth It and makes you delete a random file in your PC’s tabletop simulator folder in exchange for 1.00 victory points. there’s a markiplier boss that spawns like a million other additional markipliers when it dies or some shit like that idk when you kill a boss you get victory points and those can be exchanged for victory cards

there’s also a bunch of gimmick decks, there’s a doge deck, a duck deck, there Used to be a rick deck from rick&morty but it got patched out in one of the recent expansions. there’s also a stinky pete deck that should not be summoned because it sucks

there is also a Hell deck. if you do not like a card it can go to Hell. some cards also just live there. all overwatch cards go to hell immediately except winston

there’s also a mechanic called annihilation, if a card gets annihilated, it’s basically Gone Forever unless special circumstances let you save it from annihilation and bring it back. i’m pretty sure mosrt of the stinky pete deck got annihilated at some point but there are also just some cards that say “if the date is after ____ annihilate this card” and they go there automatically

there are also status effects. one of them is gay. this makes the card gay

but most importantly, godgame is a game where you can Literally summon exodia and Still lose because someone else fished in minecraft enough times. there is a yoshi card yoshi from mario that lets you turn “anything, anything at all” into additional yoshis whenever you want as many times as there are yoshis on the field, and the session thwt card got played in ended after every single thing on the table including the table itself, the players, the spectators, the number three, And The Word God all were turned into yoshis rendering the game without a win condition, so they had to go into the rulebook and change words into yoshis until it said “when yoshi is yoshi, yoshi win”. godgame is a strategy game where instead of building a deck with the most strategic potential, you have to deal with what you get and figure out the most fucked up way to work it in your favor
