Cinch had three charges in her care once, Celestia entrusted her with the day-to-day care of Prince Blueblood, the new Princess Cadence and her student Sunset Shimmer - running a kingdom is difficult enough alone without three young ponies to look after - so when Celestia is absent (often) that means Cinch was in charge of these three ponies. And while the matron of the castle was always rigid about rules and wanted her three charges to uphold her reputation and to build their own budding reputations high, she cared about them very much. You'd have to, spending your time with the same three young ponies for so long, guiding and teaching them to be their best...
By the time Ditzy came into the picture, Cinch was down to two charges. She refused to fail them the way she failed...
Well, with one down, there were two left and she cared so much she wouldn't let anyone ruin them, especially not themselves. Surely they would come to realize Cinch was only helping.

Do you ship any of the turtles with anyone? or do you ship anything in rise at all?
(This ended up being a lot longer an answer than I intended hoo boy sorry about that)
Hmmm, I’m not too big a shipper tbh! Especially since I really enjoy canon interactions backing my ships, so it’s hard for me to actively like any that don’t really have that going for them. There’s plenty that I see around that I think are cute, but that’s usually the extent of my thought process for them.
For ships I more actively have, I guess I like AprilxSunita! They’re very very cute and I think they have some huge meet cute energy in their first episode together, and their chemistry is genuinely adorable (plus them being featured means more April screentime which is ALWAYS a good thing.)
I also think AprilxCasey (and when I say Casey I mean our OG girl) is really good, as I’m a sucker for enemies to lovers, and I think they have a lot in common and just bounce off each other very well (not to mention this ship in other iterations of TMNT has a loooooot going for it.)
Keeping the chain going, I think RaphxCasey (again, OG Casey) is also one with a tonnnnn of potential. They have a lot of common characteristics, and considering Raph’s whole thing with Franken-Foot, I really think there’s a lot of room there for a relationship to develop. Plus, like AprilxCasey, Raph and Casey tend to have a close relationship throughout the iterations of TMNT and it would be great to see that more with these two, even if not romantically.
Actually going back to enemies to lovers, I unironically think there’s a ton going for DonniexKendra. I know a lot of people hate this ship, but I don’t and I actually think it could very easily work whether in a love-hate way or a slow burn way. There’s a lot to like here and honestly they’re good together! Kendra is legit Donnie’s type too haha (cute, but mean.)
Lastly, SplinterxDraxum is good…when done right. I really like when people take it and don’t undermine the very real trauma that Splinter has gone through. As I’ve stated a lot, I love me some enemies to lovers, so I can see the potential here. Plus lbr Draxum was down BAD for Lou Jitsu when he first saw him haha.
I think that’s the extent to what I actively like? Everything else usually falls into “aw cute” or “ehhh not for me thanks”. And before you ask YES leosagi is cute and I’ll read fics with it if the premise is appealing, but I’m afraid I need some canon interactions to establish base character dynamics before I actively ship it alas.😔 Super cute though, no hate to it or any of the other CanonxCharacter-they’ve-never-met ships, I genuinely think people should just have fun! And for what it’s worth I really do wish we got a Usagi and Leo interaction in Rise like we have in other iterations.:(
So yeah. Overall, I have a few ships I enjoy, but I fall much more in the “prefer to keep everyone to themselves and make the focus family and friendship” category.

MiqoMarch Day 22 - Fav. Zone
"The sand's a bit different from that of my isle in the Southern Sea, as is the rock, and some of the grasses. Even still I catch myself feeling nostalgic for that place whenever I come to the Cieldalaes. It's a little strange considering I much prefer my life now to how it was back then. Shtola and Raha both have assured me it's for the best that I have this sanctuary. They believe I aught to have somewhere where being the warrior of light is of no consequence. Where those pressures I place on myself get washed away in the first waves to lap at my feet. They're probably right (they usually are) ... but I'd still wager they more so enjoy having a tropical location to escape to over the colder weekends in Old Sharlayan. I know I sure do."

i absolutely love cleo's little commentary annotations alongside whatever's happening in the video it gives the episode such a narrative perspective it's really cool
i think it really solidifies her loyalty to etho even if she doesn't actually say it out loud (that little 'i couldn't' when scott suggested they kill etho actually broke me) and it gives a nice look into what they're thinking as stuff happens which is hard to get sometimes in the life series
idk it's just a really nice addition :)

This may be a stupid question, and I’m sorry if you’ve answered it before, but why do the mimes do everything they do?
Not a stupid question at all. It's a pretty broad question, however, so it may have been answered in bits and pieces in the past throughout several other asks. So I suppose this is a chance to put it cohesively:
They are of a different realm. The physical realm is not their own, and though they have existed for eons, they have only lived life in the physical part of the universe for a tiny sliver of time. So more often than not, they have almost no clue what they're doing.
They've also just finished fighting a war, and are aware that fate is not on their side when it comes to sticking around in the physical realm, so they are very ready and willing to fight. Their kind as a whole goes a bit overboard though, as I'd argue they wipe out maybe a good 70% of the living people on the planet alone within a couple of days.
The mimes in the focal lense of the story-- the ones you see me draw and talk about-- are no exception to this behavior. Some of the first things they do when they arrive is kill. Out of curiosity, fear, adrenaline, or out of a feeling of necessesity. None really out of hate, though, and none with initial malicious intent (...perhaps debatable, depending on how you look at things ^^;)
Once the crazy phase is over, about two or three days after the Fault, a lot of the immediate hostile behavior slows down. Everyone's had a chance to get used to their new world, and has had the time to understand the meaning of what life is. Though they are against the main 15 living protagonists, they actually try to avoid outright killing them. The persuasions of fate fortune the protagonists, so it makes it a little more difficult to get rid of them anyways, but a lot of the mimes often opt to thwart the living's plans rather than continue the cycle of brutal hostility.
Some mimes are just more hostile in nature though, or some more chaotic, but some are just trying to enjoy their new life. Their motives and aspirations are all over the place. Almost all of them though just want to remain despite the destruction they've already caused. The living, of course, want their world back to the way it was, so they continue on. And so the mimes must as well.

My inner lesbians voice says aaaaaa women at fem chuuya’s muscles but my inner auntie says she needs to eat more, put some fat on those muscles bby!!!! (technically an excuse to not fully the muscles if you want)
that's true tho ToT i somehow always end up drawing Chuuya like that for some reason,,, ever since I drew kid Chuuya dangerously thin fresh out of the lab... I can't seem to get rid of the mental image ;v;
i've always thought of Chuuya as someone who worked out/trained out of necessity not for the body build or muscle appeal... just because she needs to be strong and not rusty for a fight. Her muscles are not the ones made out of working out but out of fighting for survival.
But yes. She will gain some healthy fat. Dazai will make sure of that too :3c
