magic reveal

So ive been thinking about the magic reveal we did get and also the different magic reveals we COULD have gotten so i thought id project all my thoughts into another massive tumblr rant:

personally, i dont think the magic reveal was bad at all. yes, i wouldve done it slightly differently, i think it was done way too late in the show and left little time to explore how that reveal affected merlin and arthurs relationship, and obviously we never actually ended up seeing if magic was legalised and all. but i dont hate the magic reveal we got. the key part i really love is that it was done on Merlins own terms, he could have just lied, but instead he finally told Arthur the truth and i think that there were many reasons for that decision being made.

firstly, Merlin definitely felt guilty and blamed himself for Arthur being stabbed, he must have at least partly blamed himself because everything he did directly led to Mordred turning into a little shit. Part of him might have just felt as if he owes Arthur that explanation yknow. secondly, i feel like by that point he was tired of lying in general, he needed to get that secret off his chest. those two things combined with the fact that Arthur was dying may have pushed him to telling the truth, because deep down he did know that it was probably the last chance to tell Arthur the truth.

i liked how they presented Arthurs reaction too, the clear message there was that Athur was angry at the lying, thats the part he saw as betrayal, not the magic itself. he didnt want to believe that Merlin was a liar, when he always saw him as the one person that was entirely honest with him. hell, he still trusted him enough to send him back to Camelot and Gwen so he knew Merlin wasnt evil. If the writers actually did a good job at developing Arthurs character, i feel like itd be more obvious that Arthurs stance on magic was different from his fathers, but yknow bbc and their shoddy writing. I love that moment of acceptance as well, when he tells Merlin that he doesnt want him to change. He doesnt even now about all the things Merlin sacrificed and lost in order to protect Arthur and Camelot but he still accepts him. I think that when he first fund out it was all like “holy crap i dont even know him” but after spending a few hours with Merlin he realises that its still the exact same person he knew the week before.

anddddd as much as i like the way they did that magic reveal, the ending of the show left me with no closure and a lot of tears. my ideal magic reveal wouldve happened earlier, either at the start of season 5 or near the end of season 4. It would give us a chance to see them talk it out, and god we know that there would be arguing, and if arthur wasnt dying he would probbaly be shouting but the key part here is that arthur wouldnt hurt merlin. i think he culd consider sending him away if his father was still king just to protect him but we all know merlin would reply with “no <3″. but since i cant see the reveal happening when uther is king, i will be ignoring that scenario. and again, theres many ways this could play out.

the one way that ive always found interesting was arthur figuring it out on his own, because he may be an idiot, but hes not stupid. *if you like this sort of thing read “so close and im halfway to it on ao3, its a merthur fic and the magic reveal in that one makes me cry so much and the fic is so well written* I feel like at one point, he would just put the pieces together, and it would all make so much sense to him? Merlins random disappearances and scars would make sense, the luck he had when it came to fights, Merlins weird reactions when someone mentioned magic, how on earth merlin of all people managed to survive every battle and fight arthur was in when some of his best knights didnt.

then theres the very cliche “merlin using magic mid battle to save everyone” reveal. because its mid battle, i really cant picture them talking it out there lol, i picture a lot of ignoring but also if other people saw him using magic, we all know the first thing arthur would do is give the knights a good old “if you kill him i will kill you and then myself”, it wouldnt be until later that they would actually talk.

and then like the canon magic reveal, theres Merlin doing it on his own terms. i personally really like thhis one because it gives him so much more control over the situation and over his words. *another fic rec here if you like this sorta thing, its called “to the world that let you by” and its really beautiful and made me cry at 1am so there you go, and as you guessed it, its another merthur*. i love this reveal because it gives merlin a chance to explain, and arthur a chance to listen and try to understand.

now there are loads of different sub categories that could go into those, like Arthur finding merlin creating butterflies out of thin air lol, but i wont go into those. whatever reveal would happen, i feel like “the talk” after would usually end up in a similar way. Arthurs reaction would be similar to what we got in the canon reveal, because the actual magic isnt what would hurt most. it would be the lies. Arthur has been lied to and betrayed by so many people you cant really expect him not to react badly to being lied to. the magic sure would confuse him and put him in a difficult position, because you have to keep in mind that his entire life he has been told that magic is pure evil, and to him, merlin is the polar opposite of that. i think it would just make him question everything, like does he even know this man? has he won any of his battles or has it always been merlin? why is he in camelot? why would a sorcerer be serving him? but he wouldnt hurt him. he wouldnt even consider that imo, sure, he will demand an explanation, but he wouldnt actually thin about hurting him.

and merlin would understand why hes angry about the lying, that much is obvious. and he would be reluctant to tell arthur about the things that were happening behind his back all those years, but he would be honest. and go that conversation would be hard for both of them, i cant really imagine them having it without a lot of crying, shouting and even more wine tbh. arthur isnt good at listening which is why this would be so hard for him too, but merlin has to be honest, completely honest with arthur for the first time in his life and thatd be difficult.

and i think merlin would handle arthurs reactions well, even if arthur decided to lose his temper lol. but i can still imagine him being a bit bitter if arthur judged his choices and stuff when it came to poisoning morgana and freeing the dragon, asking what on earth HE would do in that situation. where the only choices he sees are bad ones, and he has to pick the one thats least evil.

arthur would probably be most pissed off at the thing about his mother tbh, because merlin outright lied there, usually its just deflecting but he made that deliberate choice to lie. but i really do think he would understand all of this, while not every choice merlin did was good, he did it with good intention.

and then arthur would remove the ban on magic and they would kiss and get married amd live happily ever aft-

tumblr user @dreamsclock has made a simple post which has cursed and plagued me with Thoughts, and I am tired enough atm to actually type them out lol (and it’s late enough that I can post it n then go snzz and forget about it which is nice lmao), so here is a list of some of my thoughts bout hp houses for a couple of the dsmp characters lmaooo, I’ll try n do a read more cause this is much longer then I wanted it to be but idk how those work on mobile so if it doesn’t work then too bad have fun scrollin lmaoooooooo

(Prefacin this by sayin that the main setup I use for houses isn’t the same as the actual hp one, the one I use has like, primary/secondary houses and stuff like that, I yoinked it from a personality quiz I did one time that I thought was fun lmaooo, so if anyone reads this n wants a better explanation just lmk n I can link it lol, but basically it’s Primary House is about motivations, and Secondary House is based on Methods, and a couple other things I’m not gonna explain atm cause I can already tell I’m gonna type Wayyyyyyyy too much so I’m tryin ta cut down on it lmaooooo)

Aight so, first of techno ravenclaw primary, I’m not even gonna explain that one just look at him lmaoo that’s a ravenclaw if I’ve ever seen one lol, and for secondary I think he’d be gryffindor cause he’s got the determination and the dedication to his morals/ideals, with a ravenclaw model, cause mans is smart lmaooo

Wilbur I’m thinkin maybe burned slyth primary? cause that’s like, someone who ideally would be motivated by and want to prioritise a close circle of trusted people, but has for whatever reason decided that that trust isn’t worth it, and without that priority they often focus the aimlessness that comes with into more like, “moral” causes or whatever, which I think vibes with him p well, and then I think a slytherin secondary, it’s kinda about usin social connections/other people to their advantage by being adaptable or possibly manipulative, and like just look at the man that fits him lmaooooo

Big Q I’m gonna say maybe gryffindor primary? And then later on shiftin to more of a burned gryff one. Like, at first hes determined ta do what he believes is the right thing, but then as time goes on he kinda loses his idea of what that means to him, n starts ta take on more and emulate more of other people’s ideas and values instead. and I’m thinkin huffelpuff secondary with a slytherin model picked up around when he started goin off the shits lmaooo. Huffelpuff secondary is like,, being dedicated n dependable, investin in other people/developing a good reputation, havin people support them cause of it, n it’s bein overlooked/underestimated n havin that + the rep mean they can slip their way into bein trusted with important info n jobs cause people just assume they’re the person ta trust, which I think fits with him durin like, manburg n shit v well, n then him changin to the more negative side of the slytheriny shit later on

Schlatt I’m v torn on, but atm I’m leaning slytherin primary with a gryffindor model, so valuing the determination to an objective/cause, (in this case being like, the fuckin country he took over ya try n improve n then do a p shit job of it lmaoo) but under that being v like, self motivated n shit lol. And I think just a regular slytherin secondary lol, I was debatin a ravenclaw model or somethin, but I dont think it fits overall lol

I can’t imagine Slime bein anythin other than like,, a goop blob wearing all 4 house uniforms at once, but ignoring that I think just like,, Full Huffelpuff, maybe with a tiny bit of ravenclaw in there? But mostly huffelpuff lmaooooo

Philza I’m a bit less sure on, but I think either burned slytherin Or burned gryffindor, cause those 2 can be v similar, but either way I think he’d be burned cause holy Shit mans been through a lot n that stuff would affect either of those options. I think for a secondary maybe,,, gryffindor with a huffelpuff model, I don’t know if either of them would be burned, but they’d probably be close lmao. They’re both about like, determination and dedication, but the vibe I get is hufflepuff is more about calm and steady determination, and about working hard and gathering resources/power, while gryffindor is more about efficiency and drive, and being more straightforward and direct, and both of those feel like they could fit him p well lmao

Ok it’s late as shit so I’m not lettin myself write anythin else here so that’s all the characters I’m doin lmaoooo, if I come up with any more tomorrow then I might make another post?? Idk tho, I’m not actually that caught up on like, dsmp characterisations or on dsmp in general, so idk how many more characters I’d have thoughts about lmaoooooo

So I am sorry if this is a rude question but ive been nervous to ask you this What is the difference between being bisexual and pansexual ? Because I know that I like girls and boys but I don't know how to call myself. Again im sorry if this is a rude question

Also, You can always ask me a question about my sexuality. As long as you arent some homophobic twat looking to start some shit, then any question about my sexuality, or my view on any sexuality is always welcome. I try very hard to keep my blog a LGBT++++++ friendly place, and when Pride Month happens I lose my fucking mind celebrating it.

So yeah. Not a rude question, definitely dont be nervous to ask, keep in mind that you might be asking a question that one of my other followers has been to shy to ask, and having a public answer might help them too!

Please just remember that my definition of bi/pansexuality is my own personal views and might not reflect other peoples opinions and im not saying they or I am right or wrong.

Bisexuality at its most simple is being attracted to both girls and boys.

Pansexuality is the potential to be attracted to ANYONE regardless of gender/sexuality.

I tend to think that most bisexuals stick to “conventional” genders when it comes to their attraction, and that might vary from person to person, but most bisexuals I have met/spoken with would say that they like “girls that are girls” and “boys that are boys” meaning that most of them wouldnt necessarily be physically attracted to individuals that are transitioning, or genderfluid people etc etc.

I am not bisexual. I am pansexual, and the easiest way Ive found to describe that to people is that I could be attracted to anyone for any reason, and their gender/genitalia/sexuality literally has no bearing on that.

I like boys and I like girls and I have dated people who are transitioning either way, whether they were pre-during-or post transition. I love genderfluid people because not only are they beautiful ALL THE FUCKING TIME but because its just fun to be with them. Non binary individuals. Androgynous types? Kill me. Some of the most gorgeous people Ive ever laid eyes on.

From an earlier ask I answered about my sexuality—

Into girls. And Guys. And Girls who aren’t sure. And Guys who are nervous about being who they REALLY are. And Boys who kiss Boys and then kiss Girls. And People who don’t want to be attached to a pronoun. I’m into Boys that wear dresses and Girls that only wear flannel. Into People who are able to sleep with anybody, and People who can’t fathom sleeping with anyone ever.I love Girly-girls who wear glitter and Gym girls who can bench press me. Love Boys who can quote every line of Grease and Boys who’ve never watched anything other than Die Hard .I’m into everyone. Every gender. Every skin color. Every nationality.

Everybody kiss everybody.

What it comes down to for me, and for most pansexuals based on personal conversations and general reading— I am attracted to something about you that isnt physical, therefore what you look like/how you identify has nothing to do with my decision to enter a relationship/ask you out/want to sleep with you.

Ive dated Katie because she was the sweetest girl, and then a year later after she transitioned to Kaleb, I dated him because he was so fucking funny. I kissed Megan because Ill be honest, I wasnt sure if she was a boy or girl (turns out she was non binary) but I knew I wanted to kiss them. So I did.

I know I rambled there, and Im sorry if you didnt want to read any of that.

Let me leave you with just one more thing::

FUCK LABELS.

Sometimes we are so concerned with what label “fits” us that we forget to enjoy exploring and experiencing our sexuality. Stressing about “what” you are can just ruin you learning who you are.

And Ill be perfectly honest. Its no ones damn business how you identify. You do not have to announce from the rooftops that you are bi or gay or non binary or any of that. If you want a label for yourself, then by all means find the one that fits you the best and fly your pride flag high! Thats wonderful!

But I can tell you from painful, personal experience, that stressing over how to label your sexuality can be so mentally harmful. I thought I was a lesbian when I was thirteen, then kissed a boy at sixteen and had a crisis because oh fuck was I bi, then? Or maybe I was meant to be a boy, since I so obviously liked girls, so maybe I was trans? or something???

I didnt hear the term pansexual until I was in my early twenties and when I heard it and read about it, I just sobbed because I could finally stop obsessing over what to call myself. I wish I could go back and shake sixteen year old me and tell me to stop crying over it all, over feeling like I didnt know who I was. I should have just been enjoying kissing all the boys and girls I wanted instead of panicking of it.

Remember that sexuality can be fluid as well. Because you consider yourself bi now, doesnt mean that next year you might be leaning more towards only being interested in girls, or only boys. There is no rule saying that once you are (whatever sexuality) that is just what you are and you can never change.

Yukke does not like oppai??” Haha that one backfired at Yukke.. and I forgot what was Yukke’s respond coz during this time I was still polishing my Nihongo listening skills so I often missed some details.

In summary, I genuinely love him for his dedication on being a seiyuu, his talent, and him. One of my life goals is, I wish I can meet him in person someday, I even wish that I can come to Kumamoto someday, I watched a documentary bout his hometown, Kumamoto, a year after the earthquake.. which is narrated by Makonyan himself, I empathized them and in the same time I wish I can do some volunteer work at Makonyan’s hometown!

Makonyan is still young, he’s 28 this year, and I’ve foreseen his long seiyuu journey in the next few years, I hope he’ll release a debut soon, it will never be too late! I hope he’ll get more main roles or even minor one in anime, I hope he’ll never stop give some fan service (ahem) to us.. lol

since i FINALLY finished the comic page im gonna make the poor choice of playing zelda ALL NIGHT get ready for The Longest Post which is full of Big Super Spoilers

since lynel thoroughly kicked my can last night i need defense food and preferably stronger weapons

i technically already had more than enough shock arrows to proceed but i wanna kill him!!!!

okay but in all seriousness i only have like 3 defense things........

ok. slept on the bed to get my stamina wheel & 3 hearts, will use my 21 hearts when those run out, got 3 defense things for about 14m of defense, I Can Do This

really i wish i had a one-handed weapon, two-handers are so slow :/
