GMMTV 2024 Part 2, let's go

1) Ossan's Love: THE KEY WORDS BEING "INSPIRED BY"
If I take away the inclination to do any sort of comparisons to the Japanese version whatsoever ("INSPIRED BY"), I'm thrilled that EarthMix get to do romcom. Earth at this level of baka is utterly unbelievable to me, you are too smokin' hot, boy, but try to bring it, because if you do, and it's a success, then I'll be fucking really impressed.
2) Leap Day: Looks scary. Gun!
3) The Heart Killers: ...
Man. Man! First in muscle shirts and an earring, kisses pushed up against walls, etc. Where have we seen this before. Lemme guess, they all get together in the end. I would like to force myself to be excited about this somehow, Jojo on 10 Things, but. 4) Friendshit Forever: no subs, seems intense, the gals are smokin', NEW AND BOUN?! Hate to say it, but even without knowing what this is exactly about, I'm intrigued? My Boun! New and Boun!
5) Perfect 10 Liners: They're letting New Siwaj do 30 episodes, folks. I have no predictions on this one, y'all will have to tell me if it's good. Perth is back with New Siwaj directing after 2018's Love By Chance. If they give Chimon a little comedy, I'll be happy. I asked for Junior again, but maybe I wasn't expecting him to go to school, but I will admit I like JuniorMark together, and if they get to helm 10 episodes as the center stars, then good for them! Maybe that'll be the bit of this series that I watch.
6) Us: I believe in this screenplay more than how 23.5 is working out. I think Fon Kanittha needs more stuff on her plate to play around with to make a great show. This trailer was great. I'm watching My Precious the Series now (after having watched the movie this past weekend, which I was disappointed by -- the series is MUCH better, and going better than 23.5), and I'm seeing that Fon does stuff very well, background community building that gives us macro- and micro-level understandings of her characters. If those levels are Sing Harit, I'm here for it, that was an unexpected appearance, but if he's recalling the strength he brought to Todd in Not Me, then I'm a happy camper.
7) Hide and Sis: I love Piploy. Wednesday Club was a total holiday trash watch for me last year, but I loved her a lot. Looks like they're promoting this as a multi-generational show with known older actors, the approach of which I like. Everyone hates each other and maybe tries to kill each other; Keeping Up With the Thai Kardashians, maybe? Surprise, Gawin's a cop. Chimon as murderer, I'll support that.
8) Thame-Po: This looks cute. I'll consider a pre-order! Separately, I happen to adore cute Lego from LYKN, so good on those dudes for getting a show, and I like that William is pushing his boundaries outside of music.
9) Break-Up Service: I am happy that Off has gotten this kind of sneaky love romcom (?) role.
10) Revamp: The Undead: I'm here for it. I'm so happy for BounPrem. I'm happy to see some strong support dudes in Kay and Mark in this project. I haven't watched My Only 12%, so I don't know from Santa, but I know a lot of friends love him. I am totally seated. GMMTV is really the BL Machine, huh, absorbing this project.
11) Sweet Tooth, Good Dentist: Do not get me wrong, I am very excited about this; I am just wondering if Baby Ohm needs a little workshopping to get more diversity in his expressions. But I am very excited, Mark looks SO DOWN and ready to lead. View! Jimmy! I'm good with this.
12) The Dark Dice: High School Squid Game, I can't
13) The Ex-Morning: I gotta admit. This kind of moment is one of the reasons why I'm so happy doing the OGMMTVC. The big-ass smile I had on my face seeing KristSingto again, even though I really wasn't the biggest fan of SOTUS -- I've done a whole accountability turn on Krist after seeing him in Be My Favorite, and I appreciate that this show will go meta on the KristSingto background. It fucking sucks that Shadow sucked, because Singto is such a good actor, just seems like his scripts are here and there lately, but anyway. Aof Noppharnach writing this? Last Twilight ended cringe, but I'm still an Aof girlie, so I am 100% excited for this.
14) Scarlet Heart Thailand: That wasn't really a trailer, but considering the reputation the base story has in Asia and globally, I like, business-wise, what this means for GMMTV, a historical that will have appeal to multiple generations. I understand the original novel for this, Bu Bu Jing Xin, isn't translated into English, and that's a bummer, because it seems like this Thai version, which has already been dramatized in China and Korea, is based squarely on the novel. Fuck Win. These were the kinds of shows I loved as a kid when I watched Asian shows with my folks, so I have to admit that I'm intrigued, but I would have liked to see a meatier trailer.

It's LU Update time!!!!!
Dawn 6 was fun, I enjoyed this update.
Wild has fear, four is a gremlin and SKY MY BELOVED RETURNS
Now this post is LONG so grab some popcorn and some water!
So let's get into it! - Spoilers abound, obviously
From the top!
First off im gonna talk about a parallel, I've pulled up the conversation between Wild and Four from Sunset 7 - 9 Cause I've noticed something.
I'll be bringing up Sunset 7 - 9 more so keep an eye out!
Here is the scene from sunset 7, where we see four near the stable
He could be using the house as a metaphor. Wild going to Twilight was out of the question at the time. He was not in his right mind. It was not up for debate.
He was closed off.
And here is the one from the new update
He's more open to discussion. But he is still not entirely open. His body acts as the barrier rather than the house. I like this top down view, it really opens up the area.
And opens up the floor for discussion. But he's still on guard.
Especially facing the stable.
He's going through his bag here, but he looks guarded. Which I assume is him still thinking about how they last spoke. He knows Wild is coming, assuming he asked Hyrule to tell him.
Now wild
I like that he thinks of Zelda as he's approaching Four. It's really quite sweet, and shows that he probably doesn't see himself as a diplomat after everything. Makes me think what's happening back in Wild's world?
Is Zelda bringing the people together back home? Is she trying to put together some form of government? Who knows?

Another parallel which got me excited
We see Four and wild standing in the same frame facing each other twice in Sunset 7

In both frames Wild is slouched, getting down to Four's level, or close enough to it.
But in dawn 6 there's only one. And it's this.
Wild is stood to his full height and just Takes responsibility. He even appears to be standing to attention here. It shows just how much he's had to change in such a short period. Wild is a knight after all. He's got that ingrained in him.
I wonder how Warriors would react if he saw this conversation, Wild is acting like he's talking to a superior. Maybe he sees the Chain as superior to him?
Im so proud of the Wild child. He's a good man.
Moving on...
We know Four asked Wild here to give him the new Sword. (Which I'll talk about later cause I love it)
So his confusion here is understandable.
Now we get the shock and the crossed arms. Four is still understandably angry at Wild for the last time they spoke. As they don't interact again after Sunset 9. Not really. We get the passing comments from Wild. But Four says nothing.

These two panels especially. Wild was scared. Really scared. We know from prior comic chapters that Wild and Twilight have a history and that they are a set. The way Wilds face screws up here.
He was worried. As they all were. But with his connection to Twilight being that much deeper he would have been feeling the pressure.
Four is also super expressive. I love how he looks here. As the fight they had. Now that clearer heads have prevailed. Was caused by both parties. They were stressed. And stressed people especially heroes are more prone to anger.
I love these panels.
Wilds face is just, so sweet. Fours is just adorable.

I love Wilds expression here as he twists. He was clearly very side lined by the whole. There's four of you thing.

Also known as "I wanna practice writing short/get new ideas and this seems like fun, and I'm curious to see where it goes so let's give it a shot."
I've always wanted to try writing prompts/requests for the sake of trying new things and stretching my writing style a bit, it's always seemed like a ton of fun. I participated *cough* am participating almost done 😭 *cough* in Whumptober for the first time this year, and recently with TTSBC and Traveling Thieves, as well as this blog picking up steam, I figured it was a good time to give it a try!
SO HERE'S THE DEAL
Once a week(ish I promise nothing my brain is a pinball machine with a bunch of AUs and fandoms slamming into each other like demented bumper cars) I will make a poll tagged 'Amethysts Scribbling Corner' and I'll put in the poll a handful of requests/prompts that I've either dug up on my own or that I've received from anyone who would like to send one in! Whichever prompt wins the poll, I'll write it and post it! I'll probably make a new series on my A03 account just for fics that come out of this titled 'Amethysts Scribbling Corner' as well!
Use reblogs, replies, asks, messages, I'm not picky!
They can be as broad as a simple one-word prompt, or you can even give a brief description of a couple sentences!
Requests for certain ships or characters are encouraged for sure! Just know I'm more likely to use the ones that're for ships I already write for...but I mean...looks at TTSBC notes...there's plenty to choose from!
Also feel free to submit asks or requests for other fandoms, I'm currently living my best Hermit/Traffic/Empires fanfic gremlin life, but I've also written a ton for Haikyuu and Jojos, if those interest anyone! Pretty much any fandom that I've posted for on my A03 account is fair game!
Last thing: Feel free to request where you want the fic to take place! Especially when we're taking Hermit/Traffic/Empires stuff, if you want it to be within the Minecraft server world of that specific series, within a certain one of the Life Series, a modern AU, a fantasy AU, or even TTSBC or Traveling Thieves if you have ideas for them! Just know that if anything requested for TTSBC or Traveling Thieves contradicts or maybe overlaps with any future plans for those AUs, I might not be able to accept them 😓
As far as rules go...I do not write NSFW. I am happy to write romance and let things get a little spicy 🔥 but keep in mind I'll always end up fading to black...also no heavy gore, violence, body horror, things of that nature. I am very much a fan of writing whump and hurt/comfort though, so please send those ideas my way!

as the day was coming to a close, it was time to amp up the selling tactics even more in order to get through every paper.
“papers, get ya papes here!” race yelled to the roaming citizens of new york city. not a single new yorker batted an eye or looked in his direction. race’s shoulders fell, his eyes turning into a sad puppy dog look. why couldn’t he make up a good headline?
jack rolled his eyes and scoffed, snatching the paper from race’s hand. “sing ‘em to sleep why don’t ya. this is how you do it, racer.”
jack stepped forward, and coughed to clear his throat. “homeless shelter set ablaze by angry city goers, biggest story of the year! you heard it here first, folks, get ‘em while they’re hot!” he yelled. a small line formed in front of him, and he took the coins graciously and handed them to race.
“how’re you so good at doing that, jack?” race asked, dumbfounded by jack’s natural ability to sell.
“he’s jack kelly, that’s how,” jojo said next to race.
“well i know that, i can see him.”
“it takes years of practice,” jack started after getting through the line of paper customers. “you’ll get better sooner or later. but for your sake, you better hope its sooner.”
albert stood next to the boys. “i’ve sold all my papes for today, i’m gonna head back to the lodging house. see you all soon,” he said, beginning to walk away.
“hey, this newspaper says nothin’ about a fire! what are you boys on about?” an old man yelled, waving his paper in the air furiously.
“he’s right! is this how you steal money from innocent women like me?” a lady said, coming up behind the man. they had rallied together a small crowd of angry newspaper customer, and the newsboys froze.
jack turned to albert, who had began walking away. the rest of the boys carefully shifted their glances towards jack for guidance.
the angry mob began approaching them, and the newsies slowly backed away.
“newsies… make a run for it!” jack screamed, taking off in the other direction. the boys all followed, and the angry mob took off in their direction.
jack took hold of albert’s arm as he was running, taking him along with the boys.
“man, i’se just wanted to get back to the lodgin’ house! why do i have to be apart of this?” albert whined to jack as his legs continued to run.
they ran far, hoping to lose the crowd of men behind them. jack led the boys through the alleys and back streets of new york, but it was no use.
jack turned to race, who was closest to him. “we need to split up. racer, take the boys to medda’s theater. the crowd wants me, so i’ll lead them away and meet you there. okay?” he whispered, barely out of breath and not breaking a sweat. race looked at him in awe.
“yeah… no problem,” race heaved, picking up his pace to lead the boys as jack swerved around another corner.
why’d he have to leave this up to me? race thought. do i look like leader material?
he whipped around to see the boys behind him, and that was it. the crowd had followed jack, and all race could hope for was that they didn’t catch up to jack.
the group approached the back door of medda’s theater, and they quickly ran inside and shut the door behind them. they had found themselves in the wings of the bright stage.
“where’d jack go?” finch asked in between breaths. the group leaned against the door, looking out into the theater ahead of them. it looked like a show was just about to start.
race lowered his voice. “jack was going to lead the crowd away. he wanted me to take you all here.”
jojo frowned. “jack put you in charge? for what reason?”
race shrugged, unsure of the answer himself. “beats me.”
“you boys gettin’ into trouble again?” a lady’s voice called out, causing the boys to snap their heads around. it was medda with a knowing smile on her face.
“hi miss medda,” albert said, still regaining his breath.
“where’s jack?” she asked, suddenly getting worried.
“he’ll be back here soon, he was leadin’ away the angry mob followin’ us,” race said maybe a bit too nonchalantly.
medda rolled her eyes. “i don’t even want to know what mob was following you kids this time. while you’re here, you better stick around for the show. i think it outta be something you boys would like,” she said with a grin. she winked before heading onstage as the curtain rolled up, revealing the audience.
the boys took a seat backstage mere inches away from being visible to the audience. race’s eye caught a girl on the other side of the wings, who glanced shyly away when she noticed he was staring. he wondered who it was.
“now, folks, prepare to be wowed by this next act. at only sixteen years of age, her talent is beyond what anyone would expect out of her tiny frame. she’s new to my theater, but i hope you all will give her a warm welcome. introducing the fabulous Y/N L/N!”
the crowd cheered, and the lights went down as medda ran off stage and the girl in the wings slowly walked out to the microphone. she had a certain poise and way of carrying herself that kept race entranced.
the lights lit the room up again, and race carefully watched the girl onstage. he came to the conclusion that this was the girl he had made eye contact with just moments before.
the music began, and it was a song he didn’t recognize. he watched as the girl gently swung side to side, her long velvet dress and her long, straight hair swaying with her. Y/N settled herself back to the center of the microphone, and she began to sing.
race noticed that her voice wasn’t very operatic, which he enjoyed. it was warmer, and had different nuances and layers that was new and refreshing to his ears. Y/N carried herself elegantly, and race could tell that she trusted her instincts while singing. she was very beautiful to look at, and even more beautiful to listen to.
to race, it looked like she wasn’t even nervous, and she didn’t have to think too hard about what she was doing. she was a natural.
race was so focused on this mysterious girl that he didn’t even notice jack had arrived and was sitting behind him. he placed a hand on race’s shoulder, and he turned his head around.
“i think i lost ‘em,” jack started. “who’s that?” he asked, pointing to the stage.
“her name is Y/N. she’s a new performer at medda’s, and she’s absolutely stunning.”
jack laughed at race’s comment, but he was cut off by medda.
“will you boys just relax and watch the show?”
“sorry miss medda,” jack whispered, scooting away from race.
race’s eyes fixated on the girl singing once again. if he were in a cartoon, he’d have hearts in his eyes. the world around him seemed to fade, and it felt like the only ones in the room were him and Y/N. is this what love at first sight feels like?
race made sure to soak in every word she sang, for he didn’t know the next time he’d be able to see her perform.
when her last note rang out, the noise happily lingered in race’s ear. the room went silent before an eruption of applause began. he slowly clapped, still coming down from his high.
Y/N walked off stage towards the boys, and race’s heart rate quickened. she immediately went to medda’s side without giving the boys a glance.
“she was somethin’, wasn’t she?” jojo asked rhetorically.
“her voice was beautiful,” albert started. he looked over at race, who was still lost in his own world. a smirk appeared on his face. “how ‘bout you, race? what’d you think of the show?”
race didn’t reply.
“racer!” jack yelled as loud as he could without being disruptive. race blinked and sat up before turning around.
“what? what did you say?” race asked quickly.
finch laughed. “did you like the show? seems like you grew a little attached to that girl.”
race looked over to the girl who was still speaking with medda.
“yeah, i liked it. i liked it a lot,” he replied back sheepishly, still staring at Y/N.
the boys looked between themselves, all thinking the same thing.
“race, i can’t keep watchin’ you admire this girl from a distance. go on and talk to her,” jack said, standing up and reaching his hand down for race to take.
race looked up, wide eyed. he took it and reluctantly stood up. “i don’t know if i can.”
jack smiled. “sure you can!” he exclaimed, wrapping his arm around race’s shoulder and guiding him to medda and Y/N. race was mortified.
the pair stood by the girls, and Y/N turned her head to look at them. she gave them a small smile, before medda began to introduce the boys to her.
“Y/N, this is jack and racetrack,” medda said, pointing to them. jack waved, and race kept his eyes focused on the girl.
“i’ll leave you kids be, i need to greet the audience. my work never stops,” medda said while laughing, walking out of the wings to go walk around the theater.
jack and race looked back at Y/N, who was beginning to look a little awkward.
“you sounded great out there, kid. i’ll leave you and racer by yourselves, he’s the one that wanted to talk to you. see ya later!” jack exclaimed before patting race’s back and walking away.
race stood in front of the girl of his dreams appalled at jack for leaving him alone. he’s never had experience with girls, how was he supposed to handle a conversation with one as gorgeous and as talented as her?
her waiting and compelling eyes stayed locked on race, and he turned his head to meet her gaze.
“i-i’m race,” he asked nervously.
she playfully smiled. race took note of the way her nose crinkled a bit when she grinned.
“i’ve heard,” she started. “i’m Y/N. i’ve never heard a name quite like racetrack.”
he sighed. “it’s just a nickname.”
there was an awkward silence.
“you were amazing out there. i’ve never heard a voice so beautiful in my life,” he said, filling the void.
she turned red. “gosh, you’re too kind,” she said shyly, looking down. “before i went on, i believe you were the one i saw from across the stage, right?”
race was shocked that she even remembered a small detail like that. “yes, that was me. i didn’t think you’d ever take notice of me.”
she shrugged and stepped a bit closer. “why not?”
race’s heart rate picked up, and he looked down at the girl. “you quickly looked away when i saw you. but not only that, i’m a newsboy, you’re a talented singer, i didn’t think it’d ever work.”
“i’m sorry about that, i was just nervous,” Y/N began. “maybe you need to rethink us working, race,” she whispered. the backstage lights caught her eyes just right, and they sparkled with a newfound feeling of intrigue.
race stared down at her, unsure of what to do next. “you’re really pretty,” he said, breathless.
she blushed again. “you’re cute.”
now it was race’s turn to get all red. his moment of bliss was interrupted by the guys coming up behind him.
“excuse us, miss,” albert said behind race. “we need to take our boy away for a few minutes. it’s newsboy stuff.”
the boys dragged him away, and he looked behind him to see Y/N confused. race closed his eyes, feeling defeated.
“what was that for? i was getting somewhere with Y/N!” race exclaimed.
“we just wanted to ask you how things were goin’ over there,” jack asked, wiggling his eyebrows.
“it’s none of your business. i’m gonna go back over there, and you guys aren’t going to interrupt me ‘till i’m done. you hear?”
“…so it is goin’ good?” jojo said. race rolled his eyes and left the group of boys.
“sorry about that, they’re a little distractin’ sometimes,” race said, coming back to the girl.
“it’s quite alright. where were we?”
race thought about it for a few moments. “i’m not sure.”
Y/N laughed. “that’s okay, i forgot too.”
“how’d you get into singin’? you could be makin’ it big with a voice like that,” race said, sparking up conversation. he liked flattering Y/N, because every time he did she would smile like she didn’t already know she was amazing.
“as a little girl, i would sing whenever i felt any kind of emotion. my mother loved it. then, when my parents died, i was living on the streets. i used singing as an escape.”
Y/N looked down. race’s expression softened at the sight of her.
“i sang to make money. then, miss medda discovered me and took me in. she gave me lessons, and a place to earn money. and thats how this all started.”
race raised his eyebrows. “i’m sorry to hear about your parents. i lost mine a while ago too.”
Y/N sighed. “it’s alright, i-”
she was interrupted by medda telling her there were important people in the audience that wanted to meet her.
race felt his stomach drop. “i don’t want this to be the last time i see you,” race said sadly.
Y/N bit her lip. “it won’t be. stop by tomorrow night for another show. we can talk some more then.”
race nodded. “i will. i sell papes a few blocks down, you can stop by there durin’ the day if you want.”
she nodded. “i just might have to.” she stepped closer and stood on her toes to place a gentle kiss on race’s cheek. “goodbye race.”
race felt like melting right then and there. his heart felt like it grew. “goodbye Y/N.”

Hey so I see you talk a lot about the corruption of Townsville on both a political and police/prison level and how villains are treated. I have similar ideas floating around in my head for my fic I'm slowly chipping away at so it's fascinating to see somebody else talk about this. Townsville's police and politicians are canonically shown to be very incompetent and I've always been surprised to see how this is rarely included or dissected within fanon interpretations and stories. I'm curious about a lot of things and don't want to bombard you with questions (worried about being annoying lol), so I'll just ask you one for now:
Where do the Ruffs fall into all this in your head? In fanon interpretations, it's common to see people talk about how the Ruffs were failed on so many fundamental levels. Their creation, being used as weapons and tools as opposed to having their needs met by children (with them often being portrayed as homeless), being subjected to horrific abuse by the police and in prison systems. I feel like people talk about their experiences a lot in fanon, but they don't really dive into them outside of "oh it was traumatic" as opposed to dissecting how horrific Townsville's justice system is, especially for vulnerable groups. Especially in regards to them being paralleled to the Puffs and the (conditional) privileges they have from protecting the city.
I think a more nuanced look at the villains of the show is something I always really appreciate seeing in regards to fanon, wish it was explored more. Excited to see what ideas you end up coming up with, particularly for Sedusa who's tragically underutilized.
I think as the Puffs grow to become more and more critical of the system, the privileges that the do have start to slip and many start to be wary of them like they were in the Movie. The Puff/Ruff species legitimately facing discrimination for who they are as nonhuman inorganic creatures is something I also think should be explored more, and how the Puffs protecting Townsville gives them conditional privileges.
I am overthinking shit to the extreme lol but I love dissecting this show and the potential it has in regards to exploring it's villains and deeper satire about the police/prison industrial complex.
Anon, it is currently December 9th, 2023, sometime past midnight as I'm typing. I want to include a date to this post because it might take me a while to come down from the high I've received from reading this.
Okay, so first of all:

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP! I wish I knew who you were, Anon, because you deserve a virtual hug. It is so nice to feel SEEN. This is the second ask I've ever gotten on this sideblog and it's already one of my favorites, you are not annoying at ALL. Secondly, I have no idea where to start so I'll just dive right into the meat of this question and hope to God that I hit all the talking points that I want to cover lol.
I didn't want to go into too much detail about the Rowdyruff Boys given the fact that they are a few of the main characters of the stories in my head but I'll GLADLY do so here.
In my fics, I have the Rowdyruff Boys adopted by Ms. Keane.
Stay with me on this, PLEASE, lmao. It's not all sunshine and rainbows. She finds them when they're eight years old. They're starving, and powerless; the Chemical X in their bodies are working overtime just to keep them alive as they're on the brink of death...thanks to HIM.
If you want a Puff/Ruff centered fic (or just hero/former villain) to work, regardless of genre, you need redemption and forgiveness. While forgiveness is easier to portray, redemption needs a foundation to build upon. IMO, the only way to do that, would be to get the boys out of the influence of HIM and Mojo Jojo. In these fics of mine, Mojo is a permanent resident of the Townsville Correctional Center (name pending, imagine Arkham Asylum), a newly built prison made, strong enough to contain the Powerpuffs (hint hint, wink wink). Meanwhile HIM leaves the boys high and dry then goes M.I.A after their declaration of not wanting to "destroy the Powerpuff Girls" (If you really look at the post movie scenes of the Rowdyruff Boys, you'll see that at the end of the day, they just want to live life and have fun in their own diabolical way. You can even see this in Bubble Boy when Bubbles, disguised as Boomer ((iirc, it was either her or Butch)) suggests to blow stuff up and Brick replies "Nah, we blew a bunch of stuff up yesterday". These are elementary school aged boys, eventually, they're going to get bored and no amount of hate toward the Powerpuff Girls is going to change that). The boys being adopted by Ms. Keane, lays down a certain groundwork to start from; they need some sort of positive, older female influence in their lives that aren't the Powerpuff Girls or other love interests (especially to begin challenging their post movie misogyny). Plus, I also think they'll challenge her to not view the world as black and white as she occasionally tends to, and she's one of the only canon characters I think who would actually give them a chance.
Being adopted for them also means having to deal with: ✨ Townsville's Child Welfare System✨
And if The Mayor and the police are anything to go by, I'd imagine it isn't great (and now thinking about it, looking at Mitch's family issues that I mentioned, we see that the welfare system is SHIT lol) (Hell, you can take one step further and look at Jack Wednesday, the incompetent truant officer who's definitely their parole officer now). Ms. Keane wants to get legal guardianship over the boys after caring for them for however long, and I can see whoever's in charge of that wanting the boys to answer for the crimes they've committed against the city first. Long story short, it's a quiet case, as to not upset the citizens of Townsville, and the boys have to live in a group home for two years before Ms. Keane is granted her guardianship. For one, it's a confinement of sorts without having to jail them *(because as Ms. Bellum, Ms.K's lawyer, puts it, they are children and victims of circumstance), but most importantly, this allows the city to test out Professor Utonium's newest **(and most reluctant) invention: Antidote X handcuffs.
It sucks. They're subjected to religious zealots who condemn the boys as demonic abominations for coming back to life (as if it's their fault), weirdos with a superiority complex over kids, short tempered adults who hit first and ask questions never, other bullies in kids who are also victims of circumstance, and they're powerless. And honestly, aside from MAYBE the Powerpuff Girls, who believe the boys are M.I.A, and Ms. Keane, who'd care enough about their condition to make a stink about it?
So once they're finally out into the real world, having to spend an extra few years in house arrest, watching people tremble in their wake feels nice. And they (mostly and especially Brick) can't wait to blow this sorry ass popsicle stand known as Townsville once they're 18. They're not under Mojo's or HIM's thumb anymore but they're still mean, cold, rebellious, snarky, and conniving. And even if the newest girls in school, the Powerpuffs, don't see it yet, who could blame them? (This is only for one specific fic, keep in mind.)
Something I feel is highly overlooked in these types of fics would be the outside perception of the relationships between the Puffs and Ruffs, whether that be platonic or romantic. Because, sure, in a perfect world, everyone would see them hanging out and think the girls would be such a good influence on the boys, who would finally start to turn their lives around. However, we've seen time and time again that the city of Townsville has turned against the girls (and the girls against Townsville, Buttercup assaulted numerous albeit criminal, citizens to exchange their teeth for money, Blossom stole a set of $1000 golf clubs, Bubbles released an entire zoo into town, and they masterminded the robbery of a toy store with the Professor, as well as comply with the robberies of Femme Fatale, not to mention what happened in the movie), and there's no doubt in my mind that there'd be quite a few citizens who'd see any of the boys with any of the girls and think that their "villainous ways" are contagious and that the girls are being manipulated yet again. I could see this as a slow starting point for the said privileges to be revoked.
The parallels between the Puffs and Ruffs are CRAZY too. You have the Rowdyruff Boys, who never successfully killed the girls (granted they are still villains but their only "bone to pick" with society is the Powerpuff Girls)***, treated as scum of the earth for being kids listening to two of the worst possible role models ever. Then, you have the Powerpuff Girls, who've committed crimes and killed the Rowdyruff Boys once before, living life on a pedestal with their amazing dad and loving support system. Sure, you have the Powerpuff Girls reel in the Rowdyruff Boys to the "good side" by showing them that they're not as evil as people believe them to be and that they deserve to be treated as citizens. BUT, you also have the Rowdyruff Boys showing the Powerpuff Girls that they're only given this camaraderie as long as they continue to be used as tools for every inconvenience the city faces, that the city is taking advantage of their people pleasing ways (which no one ever talks about), and that they deserve to live their lives.
*I didn't speak on this before, but I also headcanon Ms. Bellum attending law school, passing the bar exam in flying colors, as sort of a back-up plan. It couldn't hurt to know the law if you're planning on working in politics, she's just that bitch. I'd like to think she took the case pro-bono as a way to make it up to herself for not doing the same for her estranged niece (granted, her father's money and connections got Princess acquitted of all her crimes and a court ordered therapist, but Ms. Bellum would've defended her in a heartbeat regardless).
**This is also another headcanon I haven't touched on yet. There has to be someone in the governing office of Townsville who realized that these girls are practically unstoppable and that they needed a backup plan in case they choose to "turn on [them]". As an agreement to "allow the girls to save the day", Professor Utonium invented three things: 1.) Antidote X handcuffs, which are regular handcuffs with spikes on the inside to inject the user with Antidote X, rendering them powerless, 2.) Mini Dynamos, smaller robot versions of Dynamo to operate like robocops, and 3.) Help with the construction of the new prison.
***Yes they're still villains who've caused massive damage to the city, but they're only ever worried about the Powerpuff Girls. If they were as evil as their creators, they'd have killed every innocent civilian in their path. As far as we know, the Powerpuff Girls have a higher body count than the Rowdyruff Boys do. An INTENTIONAL body count, might I add.
****I wasn't gonna say anything, because this is long enough as is and I could do a whole essay alone on this but YES EXACTLY. It's very interesting how these criminals in the show commit some atrocious acts (theft, vandalism, attempted murder, crime of treason, kidnapping, assault, life endangerment, etc.), yet they're always released. 🐸☕

Justin is about to leave for 10 days. This is the longest he’s ever been away. Ugh.
His work trip is in Dallas. I’m insanely jealous. He gets to see our friends and old neighbors, and he gets to eat at our favorite spots. He wanted us to join, I just thought it would be too much with G&G, who don’t sleep in hotels or travel well. But dang, we should have gone just for the weekend. Regrets.
So many changes are taking place. The school year is wrapping up, Alyssa’s Celebration of Growth is tomorrow. The weather is heating up. I’m hanging out more with my kindergarten mom squad friends. I don’t know. I have big feelings about our first real summer here. Maybe I have some mild PTSD from last summer? I don’t know. The stress of it still makes me nauseous when I think about it. Ha! Maybe the move will be a traumaversary in my life now. Is that possible? Maybe, since the move from CA to TX broke my heart into a million little pieces and MA, while a definite upgrade, was still a small echo of that. Leaving friends and loved ones and places that felt like home and venturing into the great unknown. Sigh. It’s been crazy and fun and exciting and new and great but there have been times where I’ve felt alone, like I’ll never truly fit in here. But there are a bunch of transplants in my kindergarten mom squad and that has helped.
I’ve also met several moms with autistic kiddos. It’s nice to have a support system of people who get it. I used to have so much anxiety about his milestones and meeting kids older than him who eventually developed meaningful speech has been so nice. George has started to say some more meaningful words and phrases (“cracker” for Graham cracker, he refers to himself as “Georgie”, and he tells us “no” now when he doesn’t want to do something). He still says tickle and peekaboo when he wants to play and cheese when you take his picture. He’s getting there. He’ll get there. He’s the cuddliest, sweetest guy with the best disposition out of every kid I’ve ever met. I wouldn’t change him for one second, I just hope I get to hear about his interests some day.
Alyssa still wants to be both JoJo Siwa and a chef. Her favorite songs are Party in the USA and Shake it Off, she dances to them on repeat. I bet she would love Hannah Montana. She has poses now that she practices in the mirror and I honestly think she is perfect in every way. And very entertaining.
Gen is Gen. She is The Boss. Preschool two days a week next year will do her some good I think. The FCC classes are so great but they require parent participation and she rather be with me than her classmates, so her participation level is low. It will be so good for her to be with peers when mom isn’t there. She is so smart, she watches everything and everyone. She talks so much, and most of it sounds like a little grownup, she is very articulate. She is also fascinated by babies and batteries.
That’s pretty much it. Girls will do swim lessons, gardening class, and gymnastics this summer. George will have his IEP program for 3 hours M-Th. We’ll pack a picnic lunch, pick him up from school, and either head to the lake or playground for the afternoon. I’d love to wear them out every day and have early bedtimes. And it’s so much easier to parent outdoors. Weather is perfect here, TX you could really only enjoy the outdoors in the morning or evening, it will be nice to have all day to be outside.

They arrived home early after spending the weekend with her uncle, aunt and cousins at Roberto’s brand new yacht and enjoying a lovely seafood dinner. It was sad to leave Palermo because even if they did do a lot of things, it still felt there was more to be done, more places to visit, more experiences to have.
They both agreed they needed to go again in the near future, hopefully spend more time there too. They both thanked the Uber driver when he left them at their doorstep, the sun finally breaking on the horizon with the shades of purples turning into pinks and reds as the morning finally began. Beatrice inhaled deeply, closing her eyes with a smile “I loved Palermo, I’m not going to lie, but I’m glad to be back home.”
Rooster laughs in agreement, pulling the keys out of his back pocket to unlock the door “I know what you mean, I would’ve liked to stay but at the same time,” the door is pushed open and he steps back to let her walk in first “I missed our house.” Beatrice walks in and rolls her suitcase on the hallway, the sound of Michael's snoring from the guest room making her smile as she gestures to the second floor “I hear it.” He says with his eyes traveling upwards. That is until he looks around with confusion “Where’s Jojo? I thought she’d come rushing over.”
Beatrice hummed, looking around the living room in hopes to see her but she couldn’t “Well the backyards doors are closed, she’s not out there. Maybe she’s hidden in the laundry room.” She suggests, grabbing her suitcase handle “Let’s just take these upstairs, just for safety.” As in ‘let’s not leave it here or Michael is going to trip and fall because he doesn’t pay attention’.
She peeks at her snoring brother in the guest room for a quick second, seeing the covers are all over the floor and his face is hidden in the pillow. Beatrice just smiles, turning the light in their room only to hear a continuous thumping coming from the bed. Jolene was on the bed, something she never did before, with her eyes almost watering and body shaking with excitement “Oh my Gosh, hi baby!” She coos quietly, crouching to the ground and letting Jolene rush forward, almost making Beatrice lose her balance.
Jolene didn’t know who to go first, running between Rooster and Bea with a velocity that could break the sound barrier, soft whining breaking from her throat until she finally leapt on Rooster’s lap, letting the pilot scratch her ribs and tummy while she licked his face, “I missed you too, Jojo.” they both tried to keep their voices down so they wouldn’t wake Michael up, letting Jolene run about and bring her sock monkey to them with her tail wagging, “Yeah, we missed you a lot Jojo, we did.”
The pittie whined again, zooming inside the room before launching herself on their bed, “I think she missed us more than we thought.” Beatrice whispered, patting her dog’s head, “She never jumps on beds, she probably wanted our scent close by, poor baby.”
Beatrice stood to her feet, groaning quietly as she stretched her arms, looking back at him, “That was really good wasn’t it?”
“It was great.” he agreed, “Do you want to surprise Michael by preparing breakfast and scaring him?”
Beatrice’s smile widened, “I like that idea.” she giggles, pulling her hair out of her ponytail to run her fingers through it, “I am a bit tired but we can nap later, right?” He agrees, stepping closer to her to kiss her forehead before they walk out again, Jolene following just as quietly, almost as if she knew they didn’t want to wake Michael up.
Beatrice surveyed the kitchen knowing very well her brother didn’t cook anything beyond instant ramen so she wasn’t surprised to see the kitchen looking absolutely pristine. She smiles, turning on the light to grab cups from the cabinet, hearing her brother’s snoring get even louder from above them. “You know,” she begins as she grabs the coffee maker, “I think our honeymoon was pretty fun.”
“It was pretty fun.” he says with a smile, opening the fridge to check inside “Your brother went grocery shopping for us.”
“Of course he did, he always does that. I might prepare him waffles since he was so nice like that.”
Rooster grins, grabbing the egg carton and milk, closing the door with his hip, “I can prepare something if you want.” he says, but Beatrice just gives him a small smile and kisses his cheek, reassuring him he doesn’t have to, “Fine, then I’ll just stay nearby in case you need hel
“I’d like that.” she giggles, turning the coffee maker on and grabbing a bowl to prepare her brother’s waffles. They stood in the kitchen chatting quietly with Jolene never leaving their side, in fact she was lying right next to them and always followed their steps when they walked away from her.
Bradley took his time to watch Beatrice from the corner of his eye, smiling to himself at how happy she looked. She looked a bit more tanned and he could see the bikini lines peeking from under the collar of her shirt, her freckles a bit more prominent because of the sunbathing in the Palermo sun and he couldn’t fall for her even more, “You look beautiful.” he says and this time she doesn’t seem that surprised, her cheeks flush up but she smiles up at him, “You really do.”
“You look really handsome too.” she whispers, scooting closer to him to kiss his jawline, “Hard to think you can be even more handsome than normal, but alas.” They laughed quietly, the honeymoon stage was still in full bloom and they were both enjoying it. He was going back to work tomorrow and he hoped it’d take a long time for him to get deployed again - he didn’t know if that was possible but he hoped so - so they could have more time together.
He recalled something her uncle told him when they were back at his house and out on the balcony but away from the others. Roberto looked at him deep in the eyes, placed a hand on his shoulder and smiled, “You are good for her, ragazzo. You make our little tesoro very happy, never doubt that.”
He reassured her uncle that he didn’t doubt it, instead he never believed something so much because she made him happy too. Extremely happy.
With their married life not ‘officially’ happening, he didn’t think it’d be that different from their dating life. They’ve lived together for a while now, therefore there isn’t much to change, right? That is unless you consider the kids aspect they talked about months ago and before returning to Cali.

“So, you know how we have that empty room close to ours?”
They were walking back to the hotel with gelatos in their hands - hazelnut chocolate for him and almond caramel for her - , licking the side of his hand when some of the cold treat slid down, “Yeah?”
Beatrice taps the side of her up with the colorful spoon, chewing her lower lip, “...there could be a baby room there…maybe? I mean it’s a thought…” he just watches her with his brow up “M-Maybe, hah, maybe We should have the baby first! Maybe I shouldn’t talk so much, maybe—“ she makes a noise in her throat, akin to desperation and awkwardness, before scooping a big spoonful of gelato and shoving it into her mouth, so much her cheeks stuffed and she avoided her husband's eyes.
Bradley laughs quietly, stepping close to her so his hand was on her waist “I think it’s better to have it ready for the baby don’t you think?” Beatrice swallowed the gelato slowly and hissed when she undoubtedly had a brain freeze from shoving so much into her mouth “We’ve talked about children before Bea.”
“I know…” she mutters “But, I don’t know?? You know?”
He did not know.
Beatrice sighs, rubbing a hand over her face “It’s just, I mean…I— I want it, of course I do but I don’t want to get over excited? Does that make sense?” She groans “Because, okay, I have to- okay.” She stops them in the middle of the sidewalk, staying close to a wall so the other people walking around could pass without being interrupted “I have something to tell you.” His eyes immediately widened “I-I’m not pregnant! But…um… how do I say this…”
He leans his shoulder against the wall and gets more of his gelato as she tries to explain “Okay, so…ugh…so before the wedding…do you remember how I visited my aunt?”
“I do.”
“Yes well,I…” she frowns, chewing her lower lip “I wanted to ask her more than her input on my cousins coming…you see I…” all she hoped was that he didn’t think she was absolutely batshit crazy. “There’s this thing in my family, apparently,that we— I mean the ones that give birth can hear…their future children,” he stops eating them, furrowing his eyebrows “…and I kind of…was…? Hearing it? A few months back?”
Bradley immediately stops and holds a hand up, clenching his eyes “Hold on, wait, you are saying that you…heard our future child even it not being here?”
Was that reaction expected? Yes but she didn’t know how to go from there so she chose the awkward quiet laughter “Oh, haha, yeah, c-crazy isn’t it? It’s crazy, it’s probably a joke! We should just go back-“
He holds her wrist when she tries to walk past him to the hotel, keeping her in place. Beatrice just looks up at him guiltily, then avoids his gaze in the same second “Gorgeous, look at me,” his eyebrows rise up to his hairline and he leans closer when Beatrice slowly looks back “Is that true?” He felt crazy for asking but he felt like he should do it, he felt like he had to know. Beatrice hesitated but nodded, still chewing her lower lip “…holy shit.”
“I-I know.”
“And you are sure you aren’t pregnant?” Beatrice nods again, saying she was keeping track ever since she stopped the birth control shots “…okay. Okay. So…what does that mean exactly?”
“Well according to my aunt it means the baby wants to uh…say hi in a way. Kind of let us know it’s coming?”
Bradley stares at her with his eyes blinking quickly, then let’s go of her wrist to rub his forehead. She felt so guilty, what if he thinks she’s just making it up to speed the process? Even if he said so it doesn’t mean he wants a baby now, they had to plan it and what if he thought it was an excuse of some sort? She shouldn’t have brought it up she really shouldn’t- “That is kinda crazy but…I…” he laughs softly “I mean, I don’t know it’s also really cool.”
She stares at him like he grew three heads “Wait, really?”
“Yeah, really. Knowing our future child is trying to…talk to us in some way is a bit exciting isn’t it?” He shrugs with a grin “Plus, I mean, what parents wouldn’t like to have that sort of news? I think it’s something to be cherished, don’t you?”
Beatrice only looked at him,gawking, not believing his words but also understanding that this was Rooster and Rooster was probably the most open minded person she had ever met. Beatrice could only gawk at him a bit more, then blink back the surprise and smile at him, “...Really?”
He chuckles, giving her an ‘are you serious?’ look, “Yeah, baby, it’s not…the usual thing but I’m not freaked out…well,maybe a little but not enough to consider this crazy.”
“Really?”
The repeated question made him smile even more, approaching her to wrap his arms around her waist, leaning down to kiss her forehead, ‘Yes, really, Bea. Maybe the little Bradshaw is just eager to show up.” and his eyes shone when he said Little Bradshaw. Honestly it was almost unreal to hear that, but her soft laugh only made him laugh with her, “So…who knows, huh? Did you aunt tell you when…?”
“Oh um…not really? She said soon.” she shrugs, “I-I don’t know when though,Roos. Are you sure you don’t find it creepy?” she had to make sure, “Because well,I–”
“I think it’s kinda awesome to be honest. I am a bit freaked out but in the good sense…and well, if that means there’s someone coming maybe…it means we should keep trying to make them come faster, huh?”
Beatrice’s cheeks heated up but she agreed while biting her lower lip, “I wouldn’t mind that.”

Steps coming from the staircase made the two of them look up from their coffee mugs to see a zombified Michael slowly making his way down wearing a white tank top and sleeping shorts with guitars on them - and fuzzy monster slippers - his hair a complete mess and he didn’t seem to understand why the lights were on, “Jojo…” he croaks and the pittie looks up from her bowl, “Did you turn on the lights?” he steps into the kitchen, not seeing his sister and brother in law seated on the table having their breakfast, “Do pitbulls do that? Are you that smart?”
“Hi Michael-”
“Jesus!” her brother tumbled back with his eyes widening immediately when he took notice of the two sipping their coffee, smiling at him, “What-who–wait, how did you two???” he looks at the clock on their wall, “I thought you guys were coming in the afternoon?”
“I told you we were coming earlier,Mike.” she says sweetly, furrowing her brows at her brother’s bags under his eyes, “Are you okay? You look really tired.”
“Uh…no, no I’m fine.” he runs his hand through his hair, licking his lips trying to wake up the best he could only to remain confused, “Wait, today is monday?” a noise of agreement from both of them, “What the hell…”
Beatrice takes her brother’s confusion as because he slept late, probably watching a show he liked and didn't notice it until he was passed out on the couch. She stands up, picking a plate from the counter and holding it up to him, “I made you waffles.”
“Wha?” Michael’s bleary gaze slowly turned to the plate, holding it with both hands, his brain trying to understand what it was, not connecting the dots that his sister and brother in law were already back and made him breakfast. “...oh…thanks?”
“You are welcome.” she giggles, ‘You look really tired, was it a long week?”
Michael blinked hard, then let out a quiet chuckle, “Hah, uh, yeah you can say that.” he shifted his eyes to Jolene who just wagged her tail happily, “But glad you two are back, how was the honeymoon? Spare me the romantic details though.”
“It was great.” Bradley replied instead of Beatrice, tipping his mug to his lips and sipping the black coffee, “We visited a lot of places, ate a lot of food, had a yacht ride with your uncle.” Michael stopped pouring the syrup on top of his waffles to furrow his brows at the pilot, “Yeah, he got himself a yacht.”
He turns to his sister for confirmation, then blinks hard when she nods, “Dad is going to love to know about that.” he jokes, “But uh, anyway, thanks for the waffles lovebirds but I–” he turns to the clock again, “I’m going to be late so I’ll just shove this inside a container of some sort and change as fast as I can and then get out.” he proceeds to take the plate out of the kitchen, leaving the two of them alone in there, only to pop his head back in, “Glad to see you two back.” then disappears.
Beatrice just smiles, sighing happily into her mug as she turns to Rooster who leans back on his seat making space for her to sit on his lap, which she does immediately while balancing the coffee mug on her grasp, “He’ll be fine.” she says once she settles down, “He’s just going to wake up later.”
“Hah, fair enough.” his chin is propped on her shoulder so his eyes are directly focused on her profile, his cheeks flexing into a grin and Beatrice could feel the subtle movement, turning her head towards him as she sipped her coffee, “I think the baby will look like you.”
Beatrice’s cheeks turn red immediately, “...Yeah?”
“I think so, they’ll have your nose and your eyes.” he begins, “You know that green and blue eyes are dominant features, right?”
“I might’ve heard something about that.” she giggles, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear, “I think the baby will look like you though. I think…they’ll have your eyes as well and your chin.” she gently rubs his chin for emphasis, then slides her hand to his cheek, cupping his cheekbone while brushing her thumb under his eyelid “...Or maybe, they’ll just be a mix of both.”
“That could happen.” he smiles, “I’ll love them either way, you know that.”
Beatrice’s chest swarmed with butterflies, so much that she inhaled deeply, her eyes shining as she took in his words, “I know, Roos.” she whispers, “...I have a confession to make.”
“Another one?”
Beatrice lets out another laugh, placing the mug down on the table - and then the two of them tossed a ‘bye!’ to Michael when he announced he was leaving - “You know,Eliza is an only child, she never had a sister.” she explains and Rooster stares at her for a little while longer, his eyebrows furrowing as to why she’d bring that up now.
Until he suddenly recalls that time they entered the shop and they bought the duck onesie. “Oh…ohhh…wait but then-”
“I was freaking out,” she confesses, clearly ashamed, “I…well,I- okay, so I was looking at this bridal store and then you came out and I got scared!! And I just blind guided you away and we…got to that shop and yeah…’ she wrings her hands together with a small smile, “Your wife is kinda weird.”
She tries putting herself down with humor, but he just looks at her with a small frown, “You aren’t weird.” she smiles a bit more, still embarrassed, “Baby, you have to stop calling yourself those names. You are anything but that.” God bless his patience, she thinks “Now…for the baby thing…well, I mean it’s surprising…but weirdly endearing too.”
“Yeah?”
He laughs quietly, shrugging, “Yeah, it was all a sign I guess. Considering one year later we’d be married.” he kisses her shoulder, “You worry too much sometimes.”
“I do Roos, I’m sorry.”
“Nah, don’t be.” he chuckles, kissing her shoulder again, “It can be really cute.”
Beatrice’s smile widens and her cheeks turn red, “...I still have it.” she whispers, earning a confused smile from her husband, “The onesie. I still have it.”
Silence follows and Bradley has to inhale deeply when she says it, “You kept it?” Beatrice nods, “Really?”
“I-It’s in my art room,” alongside the painting she still hadn’t finished and honestly she hopes she finishes it soon, “I just…well, I couldn’t really– I didn’t want to let it go if it makes sense?” maybe because she knew all along what would happen. Maybe it was a sixth sense situation that made her stop, “I mean, I guess…”
Rooster just smiled more, his eyes were so filled with adoration and love he didn’t know how else to react. “You are just incredible.” he whispers with a soft shake of his head, “You are just– God I love you.”he cups her cheeks with his hand and kisses her lips repeatedly, “You are too fucking cute, my God!” Beatrice laughs against his mouth, wrapping her arms around his neck and adjusting herself on his lap, “Never fuckin’ change, Bea. I swear.”
Beatrice’s cheeks turn even redder as if it was possible and she presses her forehead to his once he lets her lips go, “I don’t plan to.” she giggles, “So um…well, I guess we can save that for a little while longer huh?”
“Absolutely.” he replies, “...want to try for babies now?”
“Rooster!”
“What? There’s only us here,” he turns to where Jolene is happily sleeping on the corner of the kitchen, “And Jojo and your brother isn’t coming back until much later so…maaaybe…” he trails his fingers up her thigh, right where her shorts began, gently playing with the seam but he immediately stops when he tries to hold back a yawn and fails miserably.
The domino effect hits Beatrice, who in turn yawns without trying to hold it back with tears beading on her eyes as she hums, “...maybe we should sleep first.” she murmurs, “I don’t think the coffee helped us at all.”
“No,” his mouth parts and the sleepy sound comes out without issues this time, “Fuck you are right, we better take a nap at least…and then worry about babies later.” She laughs sleepily, sliding out of his lap and taking their mugs and plates to the sink, returning to his side with her hand held out towards him so they could go up the stairs. He grabs her much smaller hand in his, kissing the back of it and leaving the kitchen.

GMMTV 2024 Part 2 Showcase

When I watched Part 1 I was barely into series and watched certain trailers that I thought might be interesting but this time I'm planning on watching it live and am so into watching shows again.
The actors I'm actively following right now are Fourth and Gemini, along with some Phuwin (and by extension PondPhuwin) but none of them are getting ship work. So I'm mostly just gonna be there for the stories and concepts we get (though I'm curious about the GemPrim series and what Fourth is gonna be in). I hope I'm really excited by some concept (like The Warp Effect) or a cast/ship (like a surprise one).

Thoughts: omg? I didn’t realize Earth is the one who’s being pursued by Mix and the boss character, I thought it’d be Mix! this is fun. oh, putting on someone’s shoe scene. I finally know what the show is about because of The Conversation Podcast’s episode on it yesterday and this seems in line with the Japanese version. Very comedic, so we’ll see how it goes.

Did I know about this? Yes, specifically some sort of KhaoFirst series directed by Joni
Thoughts: I’M SO EXCITED! I was watching the whole trailer while intrigued and giggling. It’s definitely something I want from KhaoFirst, something a little risqué and has some actual plot while it’s different from anything JoongDunk have done so far, so i’d be curious to see how it goes. I hope the actual plot ends up good ahh. I’ll try not to get too attached to the mock trailer bc things will probably be different but I really like it. The song was covered in My School President but the vibe is different here.
After Rewatch: I definitely understood more after the rewatch because on my first watch I was so excited that I definitely missed some scenes and dialogue there loll I'm soooo excited for criminal killer brothers Khao and Joong, tattooist First who is trying to get dirt on them to clear his own car debt record, and Dunk who has been unleashed upon Joong to distract him from KhaoFirst in exchange for a car. KhaoFirst were my pull when I first watched it and they still are because I fucking love to see them on screen but I definitely got the JoongDunk thing more in this watch. Love to see Dunk be wild (kissing Joong when he's threatening him etc) and bold and actually take action this time while Joong is the one who is evasive, a different dynamic than their usuals. I... will try to enjoy this one regardless of plot to be honest lol because people were like meh on the Only Friends storyline. I think it'll help knowing that it's a Romcom with a side of drama rather than an assassin/crime plot with side of romance. I'm also not looking forward to KhaoFirst and JoongDunk's fandoms possibly fighting based on like screentime/acting prowess/"better treatment" and favouritsm/etc. but hopefully it'll turn out okay. I actually don't mind that KhaoFirst got a 2-pair main lead instead of a solo pair show because the pairs seem very connected with each other. Seems like it's inspired by Taming of the Shrew and 10 Things I Hate About You rather than a novel. I wonder if I should watch 10TIHAY just to see what references and such they put in.
A few hours later and I just watched 10 Things I Hate About You lol I get the "date my older brother so that we can date" thing now. I suppose Dunk's character is the "wild" character who can handle his brother Joong's character.
Title: Friendshit Forever

Thoughts: Mook and Pat and New and Boun. It Could be good but idk if i’ll watch it. Pat playing a character who is a shitty friend, a la PSIHY. Title reminds me of Dead Friend Forever. I will say the best part of the trailer was the first few seconds when I was wondering if we’d get a Pat/Mook GL.
Title: Perfect 10 Liners
Pair: Force/Book, Perth/Chimon, girl too many
Did I know about this? No
Thoughts: It could be good but I don’t care about any of the actors or pairings in this. PerthChimon were the most intriguing in this though, I liked the parallel on”Are you dating anyone?” Directed by New Siwat, yeah dunno about this one tbh. bruh so many people on stage, were they all actually there in the trailer? There are a bunch of side BL couples in addition to the main 3? crazy fr. and they couldn’t throw in a side GL either?
Apparently this is gonna be 30 eps with 10 eps each of ForceBook, MarkJunior, and PerthChimon... gonna take months and months to air fr, meaning stuff could have to wait while this show keeps airing... agh. or maybe this could prevent another rerun so who knows.
Title: Us
Pair: gorgeous girls who i don’t know the names of. Emi/Bonnie
Did I know about this? I knew about a possible Emi/Bonnie GL but I didn’t know who they were. hm Us, did we expect this novel as well, I vaguely remember having seen this novel rumored to be a series.
Thoughts: GL? These GLs being about your brother/sister’s girlfriends. omg she’s the one pairing the postcards? ahhh GL KISS IN TRAILER! Oh I’m excited and also love the short haired girl’s face sooooo much. Another melodramatic GL a la Pluto, I’m looking forward to it! Is this by the same author as GAP/Pluto/Blank? People always mention how problematic her novels are and somebody mentioned they don’t like the source material for this show either but I love a little problematic romance, so we shall see. Fon is the director.
After Rewatch: Went to MDL to double-check that the girl with cropped hair is Emi (she is! beautiful!) and the rights to this were brought like 2 years ago or what? Over a year ago at least since the comments have been waiting for announcement since then. Dang the acquirement rumour was on r/GMMTV back in February last year, so I probably saw it back then. The plot is quite straightforward, seems like it's focused way more on interpersonal relationships. Love the moody, indie nature of the angsty scenes but then they're so charming and bright when they're like happy and together! Also very happy to see like passionate kissing and romantic physical affection between the women even in the trailer, I'm hoping they have great romantic chemistry in the show. Doubt we'll get this one before 2025 though since it's directed by P'Fon and she's directing High School Frenemy right now and also has Scarlet Heart TH to do. I doubt GMMTV would air 3 GLs in a year already lol, so I'm hoping at least Pluto comes out this year and US is one of the first things out last year at the latest.

Thoughts: PSIHY flashbacks. Snap25 is in charge of this, which makes sense. Very vibey, eerie, hope it’s good. Focus on morally corrupt women and sisters yay. Pepper/Lookjun are dating IRL right? hehe cute

Thoughts: Oh, a BL? So many GMMTV people who I don’t know these days. Another idol BL similar to Only Boo but more mature ig? Is this EstWilliam? I’ve seen so many people excited for their BL but idk their faces lol. It’s a Parbdee project? Exciting. I like the vibes of it. I hope they do the celebrity/commoner aspect well, I like an idol romance in theory (and in fic lol) but I don't think I've yet watched one that I've enjoyed.
After Rewatch: I randomly started seeing Est and William posts start popping up on r/GMMTV a few weeks ago and then this master thread was created for it as well. I didn't know who they were (apparently a LYKN boy and a new GMMTV actor with side roles in the past) so I was just mildly curious but it's fun that this came true. When the trailer first started, I didn't know this guy was Est, so I was like oh nooo I don't wanna watch a show about not being able to find jobs and being a loser or something lol but seems like he finds his gig early enough into the show. The trailer is even better on the 2nd watch when I know what's going on lol. The background music really suits it, it stood out to be during the first watch as well. The trailer is 4 minutes and seems fairly fleshed out, I wonder... if we can hope that it's one of the first ones to film from the 2nd half? It's done by Parbdee who have a few projects this year but the director is Mui Aticha who doesn't have anything else lined up for the year since Beauty Newbie? So maybe she can work on this soon? Crazy resume though, The Gifted, F4, Girl From Nowhere, etc. I wonder how she'll do with this one though since it's a more grounded romance like Beauty Newbie (which didn't receive good feedback rip).
Thame is William and Po is Est and from the characters + how people referred to them during the conference after the trailer, seems like they're going for WilliamEst? Interesting because everybody on the subreddit was just reading calling them EstWilliam lol I enjoy them switching it up a bit to play with expectations and cast based on the characters rather than which order people think the people themselves should be. WilliamEstWilliam would've been fun too. The next day and Est has posted pictures with #WilliamEst. Funny to have William-Williamer-Williamest.
I hope the mood and vibe of it being calmer and romantic and the drama from the celebrity idol life remains true, I don't want it to become more light-hearted and comedic, nor do I want it to become Extra Angsty or anything.
Side note but every time I think of the title Thame-Po, I think of the song Thaam Lo even though the pronunciation isn't the same.
WilliamEst ship: Okay it's the night of the 24th, so it's been like a day but I'm quite into the ship itself idkkk man, I get why people on the gmmtv sub were going crazy about them for the past month. The thing is they're like so shy on stage when talking about the show omg, I enjoy seeing a ship being shy and unsure when first introduced to the public and they haven't quite figured out how to work everything out yet, it's cute. I also have learned that William is a 05 liner while Est is 01 and I need them to have the same age gap in the show pleaseee, I love a younger pursuer character for real. I know Thame calls Po Phi in the trailer though, so we know William plays a younger character at least

Thoughts: Ah, trailer for the BounPrem vampire story and it seems more serious and sinister than the campy nature of the other vampire BL: Golden Blood. Kinda reminds me of Midnight Museum actually. It looks good, I’ll probably give it a watch.

Thoughts: Two BLs back to back? Uni BL with dentistry student Mark based on Jittitain novel. It’s not super intriguing based on the more exciting stories but I need a good easy-watching, cute, uni BL once in a while in between he heavier hits. So this could be that. The trailer just seems long-winded

Thoughts: Ohh kinda reminds me of The Gifted and the trailer for Enigma. A high school show about them trapped in some game. Wish there were more girls in the cast though. Thoughts: girl I was already like hehe KristSingto as expected BUT THEY ATE EXES!!!!! I love exes-to-lovers and it’s kinda funny since it parallels their ship work. huhhh wtf was that random ass car accident? hah I’m excited for this too. We knew the director is P’Lit who directed SOTUS.
After Rewatch: I thought it parallels KS's journey of Singto leaving GMMTV then him coming back and doing a BL with Krist again (kinda of exes-to-lovers if you squint) while the guy-fucks-up-and-is-crucified-on-the-internet could be parallel Krist's journey and turns out P'Aof wrote the script based on Krist Singto themselves, that's wild. The university days drinking pink milk really gives me a visceral reaction. I LOVE the look on Krist's face when he looks back at Singto in the towel and then quickly turns have his face like O.O it's very cute, I giggled the first time too. They seem to show stuff toward the end like with Krist winning the award again and Singto deciding to leave and also this random ass accident (seems like people are trying to kill Krist? What with the random motorcycle guy as well). I don't tend to like too much info in a trailer (over 4 minutes?!) but maybe if it means that we'll get it as one of the earlier part 2 shows because the script is written, I'll take it. I don't know if that's the case though because Aof is overseeing/scriptwriting and he's a busy man (though Director Lit doesn't have other shows I don't think)
Title: Scarlet Heart Thailand

Thoughts: Not really a trailer, as they sometimes arent with these remakes. Scot’s are all pretty big hitters, especially Tu and Win, along with some people I’m looking forward to like Fourth, Phuwin, Tay, Nanon. Directed by Fon. I don’t know what this show is about at all though.

Actor Attendance
Observations:
Interesting to go from watching The Warp Effect where I knew pretty much everybody to these trailers where there are so many people whom I don’t know, including main actors for BLs and GLs (Est/William, Emi/Bonnie). Good chance to get to know them if the shows turn out well though!
On that note, it's always interesting when they choose completely new ships to be the main couple of a show, again like Us and Thame-Po. This also means a lot of the familiar main or side BL couples are in ensemble shows like Perfect 10 Liners (there were so many people in that, I couldn't even keep track of them all).
High School: 1
University: 2
Non-School: 10 (or 11 with Ossan's Love)
Very few school shows comparatively, just 3/13, less than a quarter. That's exciting, I'm especially glad that being out of school doesn't just mean office worker shows lol
The puns never end: Friendshit, Revamped, Hide & Sis, Thame-Po (Tempo - 50% pun), The Ex-Morning. Hilarious that there are more shows with puns in their names than school shows.
Overall:
More shows grabbed my interest in this round I think. It seems like a more somber/serious set of trailers than part 1, which is cool.
Also, most of the trailers seem well-made, not necessarily in terms of story because they don't have full plots and stories yet, but in terms of production/quality.
I just hope the scriptwriting for these shows are strong, especially because they're dealing with interesting concepts like idol romance and exes-to-lovers. The concepts are soooo good but bad screenwriting or a story that doesn't deal with the interesting aspects can make the show fall flat.
I'm also glad that there is a mix of old ships, new ships, and totally new faces for these BLs and GL Like we have shows with established main pairs like KhaoFirst-Joongdunk and Forcebook-PerthChimon in ensemble shows, we have interesting situations like KristSingto which is a returning main couple and BounPrem which is an old series but revamped ;) for their GMMTV debut, but then we have a ship like MarkOhm where Mark has been in multiple shows and ships but he's leading in a series with somebody completely different. Then we have Emi-Bonnie and WilliamEst who are new faces as GMMTV leads and their ships are completely brand new.
In Part 1, it was similar in that we had stuff like main roles for existing ships with OffGun - The Trainee and GeminiFourth - My Love Mix-Up, ensemble with existing ships (We Are - PondPhuwin etc), had existing actors in new ships like OhmLeng in Kidnap or JossGawin in My Golden Blood, we had new ships like GreatInn in Wandee Goodday,
All in all, a good part 2, I'm glad I watched it live, it was exciting and I'm looking forward to these shows (though I'm not holding my breath though lol because part 1 shows still gotta be released). I really like these showcases and I'm kinda glad that now it's split into 2 because I get a new one every 6-7 months instead of once a year haha
Actually no my main gripe: Where are all the women? Us, Hide & Sis, and Friendshit Forever seem to be the only shows that focus on more than one woman and the BLs basically have no women, or possibly 1 female side character. Why can't they have side GL pairings or multiple women in the same show, truly what the heck? I hope that more women are cast in the shows as they start writing scripts and such, like a side GL in Us or a side GL in Perfect 10 Liners among all the BL pairs.

For #1...It's really hard to say, I actually enjoy them both a lot. They feel like approaching the removal of a bandage two different ways. The first one (dramatic) it gets ripped off, and the second (romantic) it's pulled off slowly. They both hurt, just in different ways. The romantic lives up to its name, it definitely shows a softer side of Silvio where he gradually comes to grips with his feelings after much struggle. The dramatic is more explosive about it, but at the same time it's satisfying to see him sort of broken down to almost nothing and build himself back up again - I felt like he opened up more to Emma in some ways in his dramatic end than in his other, and you see more of the rawness. Plus he owns up to his feelings more even if it's tsundere style.
As for #2 - After being granted the throne, Silvio tells Emma she's got something to do as the new queen-to-be. Offscreen he takes her to a dressmakers where he's had a dress made for her (the one she's wearing in the CG) trying to match her preferences better than the first time he'd attempted doing something like that. Afterwards he takes her to the beach, because she's been wanting to see the sea for ages. She's standing there in awe looking at it, but not going closer, and he can tell she wants to go IN it but she says she doesn't want to ruin her new dress because she loves it so much.
He waves that off, saying the dress can be washed (or read between the lines and know he's saying he can just have another made lolll) and he picks her up and carries her out into the surf before setting her on her feet in the water . She's all excited by how warm it is, but has to cling to him to keep from being knocked over by the waves.
Predictably he gets all flustered, and when pressed by her about whether she can touch him or not he admits he doesn't like it because he doesn't want her to see how pathetic he is - not that he DISLIKES it. He also eventually admits that it's always been different when she touches him, from the very start, because she wasn't like the women he'd known up until then - she always saw past the money and status and saw the man behind it all. He'd never met a woman like that so he was at a total loss for how to treat her.
They bicker a little more and she tells him to get used to her touching him, and to drive her point home she puts her arms around him and yanks him down into a kiss. He flails some, flustered, and she assures him she likes that about him and never thought he was pitiful.
And that's when he turns the tables and lays a toe-curling kiss on her right there in the surf until she's weak in the knees...and Silvio tells her to listen up, because he's gonna tell her the most important duty of the king's lady. (All sexy voice between kisses, I'd be swooning too Emma)
Which is where he delivers the line about how all she really has to do is give herself to him, body and soul, and he'll cherish her all the rest of his days. AKA AS EVEN EMMA RECAPS TO HERSELF, translating Silvioese, he just wants to love her and be loved as equally in return.

Better Than I Thought! Progress for Jan 18
I was originally going to write a blog today about how I had not written as much as I wanted to in the last week. I started writing this blog earlier today, when I was on break at work after getting a little bit of writing in. I thought I should almost use this as a little confessional. I had made progress, just not nearly as much as I should have. Then I got home today, ate dinner, procrastinated for an hour or two, and sat down to write.
I just finished up a 3 or 4 hour session of good solid work. I feel quite good about the progress I made. When I was writing about my disappointments, the short novel was only at 7,300 words or so. That meant I had only written around a thousand words over the course of a whole week! Not great. Not nothing, but definitely not what I needed to accomplish.
As of writing this, the short novel is now at 10,226 words. Still a far cry from my goal of 45,000, but I'm almost a quarter of the way there! And the goal number is a rough estimate. Ultimately the content of the story is what will decide its length. I am proud of myself for actually finally sitting down, putting on some music (Jojo's Bizarre Adventure and a lot of America, both of which I've been using as background music for my writing lately), and getting some writing done.
Chapter 3 is officially done, and with it, the slow opening part of the story is too! The next chapter will mark the shift from the opening where the characters and tone are established to the crazy fantastic elements taking hold of the newlywed protagonists' lives! In other words, moving day! They are moving into the house unaware that it has some vampiric squatters, led by the eccentric and terrifying creature known as The Duke. This is a chapter I am excited to write.
Moral of the story? If you are having trouble writing due to procrastinating and getting distracted, music may help! And when pushing through chapters of your novel or short novel that don't capture your imagination the way you think future ones might, try to focus on those ones you are excited for when pushing through the current work. You can always change things and spice them up later!

The rest of Lucy’s shift was fairly standard. The alternating experiences of serving customers like normal and hearing her coworkers talk about the new busboy potentially being found dead and mutilated in a shit tunnel gave her some whiplash, but it wasn’t anything she couldn’t handle. After the diner started to empty out and the cooks turned into cleaners, Lucy punched out and went to her car.
Lucy pulled out of the parking lot and began her commute home. Dusk draped itself on only the horizon now, with the town now being lit mostly by its many streetlights, cars, and townhouses. She kept her windows rolled completely down to breathe the evening air. Music played from her stereo. She thought of Bram. She was quite excited to see him. As ordinary as the day was, she was stressed out. The move combined with the murder in town may not have had her shattered, but she definitely looked forward to getting home. That is, even if it was one of the last times she would come home to that dinky shithole apartment they called home.

I saw an ask that you answered in regards to the Precure mangas. Just wondering, when will you be scanning them and do you have any more plans to get any Precure artbooks?
Where do you get your art books and mangas from? How do you scan your books and is there a tutorial or anything like that?
I was also wondering do you have a Discord group or anything? Btw, I love Magica Madoka <3! She is a Queen and I am so excited for more Madoka and Precure scans! Thank you for all the hard work you do.

Currently, I'm not planning on scanning any Precure manga or artbooks any time soon. I do have several Precure manga and a couple of Precure artbooks, but if I'm being honest I prioritize scanning based on what I personally want to see digitized the most and am the most excited to share. Scanning is very time and effort consuming, and again if I'm being honest I've been struggling a lot with my mental (and physical) health and finding motivation to get through my enormous backlog of materials. The daily grind takes a lot out of me.
I am going to start pushing myself to start digitizing more of my collection though, although like I said I'm most likely going to focus on my Sailor Moon, PMMM/Magia Record, and JoJo materials first before I start working on series (like Precure) that I have less of a fixation on. However, I will say that I recently bought the artbook for Tropical Rouge Precure and will scan it at some point.
As for a tutorial on scanning, I'm not even really sure what to say. I unbind a lot of my materials so that takes care of issues of scan quality; my scanner also has a heavy lid so I don't really need to apply pressure when scanning books. I guess I could do a tutorial on cleaning scans?
As for where I buy my books, I mainly get them from Amazon Japan and Surugaya! Mandarake is also an option, although I use the other two options 95% of the time. If you need a proxy, I recommend Japan Rabbit.
Finally, I don't really use Discord because I'm a Boomer who doesn't really understand it, lol. If you ever want to get ahold of me Tumblr or Reddit (same username as here) are your best bets, they're pretty much the only social media I use.

Jojolands Chapter 1 Review- The Mechanism
If someone had told me a few months ago that part 9 would be GTA with stands, I'm not sure if I would laugh or just dance with joy. Probably both. Jojolands is already off to a strong start with probably the best first chapter out of any part. Readers quickly get introduced to Jodio and their sibling Dragona getting accosted by police that then delves into sexual assault. Jodio doesn't tolerate this at all and he breaks out his stand to wreck some havoc. November Rain is the name of the stand and it appears that he can manipulate water to create crushing raindrops. That's a cool ability but seems way too cut and dry for a protagonist stand. It's probably just an application of its true ability.
Jodio is without a doubt the most amoral Joestar thus far. He has no issue with severely beating cops(potentially killing them), stealing cars, and selling drugs to teens. All of this establishes him as a weird alternate universe counterpart to Giorno. Jodio's ruthlessness will take some getting used to so I'm hoping he eventually gets character development that makes him more noble. He's a cool guy but very punchable at the same time. Kinda like how Johnny was at the beginning of part 7. He also seems to be very hedonistic since he wants to get rich simply for the sake of it. He's a true gangster at heart. I also want to talk about Dragona who's easily the biggest highlight of the chapter. Despite their feminine appearance, Jodio calls them his brother. Jodio monologues how Dragona has always been into women's fashion and even got injections to expand their breaststroke. This implies Dragona could possibly be trans or nonbinary. The original Japanese version doesn't even use gendered pronouns to address them but all three translations( you know a manga is hyper when three different people translate it) uses male pronouns. I feel that using gender neutral pronouns for now is the wisest decision. I'm curious to see where Dragona's gender identity will lead but then again, Araki is infamous for never elaborating on important plot points. Here's to hoping he doesn't screw them over.
Near the middle to end of the chapter we are introduced to the primary objective: stealing a 24 carat blue diamond from a Japanese tourist. To assist in this mission they are joined by Paco, a kleptomaniac with some seriously sticky fingers and an unnamed character in a wetsuit who buys drugs from Jodio. Yeah, this part has a lot going on for it. It fills me with excitement just imagining how this heist will play out. The narration implies things will go horribly wrong and piques my interest even more. It's important to not that all the stands seen thus far are non-humanoid and only Jodio was one suited for combat. This makes me believe there'll be an even lesser focus on battles than in Jojolion and will focus more on tactical espionage. It's a fun change of pace but I'm seriously missing the powerhouse stand battles we used to get. Overall, Jojolands is destined to be a captivating new installment of JoJo.

Silver Talks AniManga (26/02/23)
I read a buncha stuff and it’s only been increasing over time and I like yapping about it so gonna start making a post like this every sunday (jump day) so I can dump all my thoughts for the week, stuff is in the order I read it in (best stuff last for the stuff that comes out on sunday), tho sometimes something will be at the top if I did a big catch up or there’s a new series
obviously there’s gonna be spoilers under cut sometimes tho not like I expect anyone to actually read these but and sometimes I don’t have much to say about stuff but yeah. tho since this is the first it’s mostly just my overall opinion on them (especially the jump stuff)

Dandadan Ch94
I was very unsure about dandadan in the first chap cause it made me a bit uncomfortable but it’s actually really good. it’s stupid how incredibly good the art is for a weekly series. it’s currently trucking along a training arc, so not much happened, but all that talk about spirals got my ttgl loving ass very interested in what okarun gonna do in the future
Jojo: The Hol Horse/Josuke spinoff Ch13
I actually started reading this right after I finished P8 cause “well it’s more jojo and there’s only like 11 chaps so not gonna take that long to catch up anyway” and it’s p decent for not being written by araki. as for this chap, ryoko finally saw kakyoin so it’s gonna end sooner than later, tho I obviously never expected it to be that long only 2 or 3 vols, tho I gotta say I’ve really enjoy the characterization they gave dio and showing him recruit his goons from part 3
One Punch Man Ch177
OPM is one of my favourite manga ever so I don’t think there’s much else for me to say. saitama fighting tatsumaki has been very pog, excited to continue seeing this fight, I love tatsumaki so all these recent chaps have been a treat, especially that panel in 176 where saitama squishes her against his chest OOF
Tokyo Underworld Ch32
it’s like an isekai gory survival game,it’s nothing to write home about but it’s also not bad enough to drop and I love danganronpa so I thought it could scratch that itch (it didn’t but oh well). as for the chap, I thought having leonidas and jeanne to go up against was already bad enough for the protags but now cao cao showed up too so good luck to them
Choujin X Ch35
the newest manga from tokyo ghoul’s author, chapters come out when they’re ready and sometimes they’re crazy long cause of that. it’s kinda hard to keep track of cause of that, and cause it’s ishida too lol, but it isn’t bad at all. this chap came after a 4 parter chapter, and it’s a 59 page one, calm down ishida. a big time skip huh? certainly didn’t expect it, chap was mostly the aftermath of the previous battle and then a fastforward in time to where we are now the final shot was cool tho
PPPPPP Ch70 (Finale)
from the start I never liked the art and never cared about any of the characters. I used to have it at a 5 but I bumped it down to 4 cause I didn’t care about the ending either, especially the rushing to “resolve” the other brothers’ stories in the last few chaps which even ignored some of them. the story was ok at best but way too confusing and hard to follow at some points, even if you didn’t read it weekly but all back to back. all the performances looked cool at least
Ichigoki’s Under Control!! Ch12
it’s a gag manga so it really depends on your sense of humour, but I think it’s really bad, and most people seem too since it always places so low in the rankings. last chap had a huge timeskip so hopefully it’s ending soon.
The Ichinose Family's Deadly Sins Ch14
another one I haven’t liked since the start. it’s way too edgy for my taste, recently it’s moved on from being edgy for the sake of it and actually doing stuff, but it also feels like it’ll end soon so I’m thankful for that. it has some cool panel composition sometimes tho
Ginka & Glüna Ch23
while the art, especially the action, is good looking most of the time the rest of the manga doesn’t really do anything special and it’s gonna get axed sooner than later so rip to the author
Fabricant 100 Ch11
another one that’ll prob get axed soon. the art isn’t bad, reminds me of fma tbh, but it’s p boring since the mc’s sidekick is so much more powerful than the enemies, the arc from the last few chaps was a bit more interesting and today’s chap wasn’t bad but still not enough to save it I think.
Jiangshi X Ch6
the art’s good but it has felt pretty generic so far, tho today’s chapter moved the plot along a bit so we’ll see, this isn’t on the jump mag so no risk of it getting axed too soon like some other stuff
Tokyo Demon Bride Story Ch24
it’s a shame that’s it getting axed soon instead of one of the 4 I mentioned before. the art’s great, all the designs are fun and the charas are likeable
Cipher Academy Ch13
the nisio series, which I always joke about being rough for the translator, that actually made the current translator quit lmao. while it’s not a series for everyone it’s doing alright in rankings so I hope it sticks around for a good while, I always enjoy getting some nisio stuff when it’s possible. today’s chap had a neat development too
Witch Watch Ch98
a very cute chap today, good for nico finally having some time alone with moi
Blue Box Ch90
I was actually very unsure of blue box when I started it cause if feels so shoujo-y but I actually ended up really liking it a lot and I’m invested in taiki and natsu. today’s chap was incredible too oh my god
Mashle Ch145
it’s getting an anime in april! and it’s prob gonna adapt the whole manga cause it’ll end soon! it starts off as a comedy manga making fun of “magic school” series but it eventually becomes a very pog battle manga, while still retain some of it’s comedy. it’s currently on the battle against the final villain so not much more left.
The Elusive Samurai Ch99
Matsui’s 3rd series and 3rd hit wao! it’s only a matter of time til it gets an anime too so that’s an incredible track record for him. it’s a period piece with matsui’s usual flair to it, the art is very good, especially some of the more detailed panels he pulls off sometimes. today introduced some new characters and set up the mcs to get some power ups next chap, the big 100, so that was fun
Sakamoto Days Ch108
one of the best things on jump rn and probably getting an anime announcement sometimes this year. I like to describe it as “anime john wick”. the fight coreography, set pieces and everything is just some of the best in any manga, not even just now but that I’ve read ever. really hope it gets picked up by a studio that doesn’t half ass it cause it deserves the love.
Akane-banashi Ch51
currently my favourite series in jump by a long shot!! it’s crazy too cause when it started I was like “eh how are they gonna pull off a manga about rakugo”but they did, oh boy did they. it got recommendations from both oda AND anno on vol 1 and 2 so you know it’s something special. please read it if you haven’t yet. today’s chap was very good as usual, it was the backstory of akane’s main rival
Ayakashi Triangle Ch121
yabuki’s, of TLR fame, newest series, it doesn’t have as many lewd moments but it has more action to make up for it. I really enjoy it at lot but ofc I do it’s yabuki how could I not, his art is just a treat to look at and he knows how to make entertaining manga
