I’m sorry to my mutuals who are watching me like disappear for a week or a month and then reappear reblog stuff and post stuff from fandoms you’ve probably don’t even know about (A lot shit on my plate that’s been burning me out lmao! I’m fine though just been busy dw!! It’s nothing bad I promise even though it probably sounds like smth bad XD)

but I’m gonna make this post before I literally lose my marbles

It’s about twisted wonderland and Madoka magica so strap in fellas this is gonna be hella targeted to probably me and me alone and maybe like one other person

Anyways HEAVY AND I MEAN HEAVY SPOILERS FOR BOTH FRANCHISES and A REALLY LONG RAMBLE UNDER THE CUT LMAO

So don’t click keep reading if you havent finished or started either (ESPECIALLY MADOKA MAGICA, Trust me the show and movies are so good walking into blind I’d kill a man to watch it blindly again) also warning for potentially shit grammar incoming lol

First things first-

HOW HAVE I NOT SEEN SOMEONE NOTICE THE SIMILARITY BETWEEN OVERBLOTS AND WITCHES?

The similarities is the over-use of magic and negative energy polluting the energy source they use to performing these magical abilities turning them into abominations that go on a rampage and effecting the lives of those around them.

The difference though is that for witches, it’s specifically middle school girls who become witches and them becoming witches have the chances of causing world ending atrocities- and in the world of puella magi most Natural disasters are due to the fact a witch is the cause of those disasters and only incubators and other unsuspecting naive magical girl know of

Whereas in twisted wonderland *So far* we’ve only seen Teen high school boys overblot and that didn’t(Besides chapter 6 and 7) have any world ending consequences in my opinion

Says alot huh? XD

Anyways that’s a point I wanna get to another time

You know what I’d love to see? a reader-insert or just a yuu from puella magi in the world of twisted wonderland!

Now this is when I start getting real self-indulgent with this XD but I wanna see like a Homura!Yuu! :)

basically a reader-insert who takes the role of Homura Akemi, right?

And the entirety of the first anime happens and Madoka goes from a 14 year old girl who made a wish to save a cat from dying by unknowingly trading her soul to become a magical girl as an energy source to a higher being

to end up becoming an omnipotent concept that saves magical girls when their gems over pollute and are about to become witches

But instead of the Rebellion Arc happening and Homura!Yuu becoming a witch and demon and all that pizazz! let’s say they “try” to keep going and just Bans themselves from going back in time again and trying to go forward for Madokamis sake and deals with those weird wraith things in the new universe

and maybe a little cherry on top they try to learn and expand the magic abilities Yuus other magical girl friends had.

Later on we move to let’s say, 17 Year old Homura!Yuu, and guess what? You’ve been isekaid bestie have fun!

During the prologue introduction, when Homura!Yuu wakes up into the coffin grim doesn’t get a moment to even open the coffin as you just kick it open ready to transform believing this is some form of a witches labyrinth and are ready to jump into a bunch of conclusions

Now, in comes a poor unsuspecting Grimm

And the first thing Homura!Yuu does upon notice of him? The same thing Homura did to Bebe in rebellion-

just one Quick grasp onto his neck and just instantly slamming him into the nearest wall before he could even say a word. Questions being shot left and right over this potential Witch-like being or a being that seems to be similar combination of a witches Familiar+ Kyubey. A thought you do not like the sound of.

Grim is quite fairly, terrified out of his mind (I’m sorry my son) But! Lucky for him in comes the headmaster to witness this display of aggression! And school hasn’t even begun yet! The nerve!

Now this can go from here in Multiple ways, but for now, how id see it going is Crowley using his whip to tie up Homura!Yuu and just yoinks up a scared grim similar to what Mami did in rebellion

you’re only reaction to this is “Ah shit, here we go again.”

Now I can see Crowley ends up kicking Grim away still since you’ll obviously deny any association with him and just questions Crowley like there’s no tomorrow and just like in canon those questions fall on deaf ears! Lol

Crowley believes that coming to night raven college has frazzled your young hormonal teenage mind into acting so aggressive and since he’s such a kind and generous headmaster does not hold you accountable for it, isn’t he so wonderful c:

Homura!Yuu ends up quietly playing along to whatever the hell is going on to get a better and proper assessment on the situation you’ve been put in. So everything continues on as normal while the students of NRC give you a strange look until it’s finally your turn to approach the mirror.

How I’d see the mirror react to a Homura!Yuu is once you give it your name, I feel like he’d go “their soul is..Missing?..” Because as you know your soul has been turned into your soul gem and the mirror has no knowledge of this so you’re not gonna be assigned any dorm, sorry not sorry c:

This, understandable, freaks everybody out.

This is when Canon plays out a usual in the story for the prologue with the headmaster taking you to Ramshackle and you’re Re-encounter with Grim.

When you do encounter grim again you transform again and start to chase after him to continue where you left off back in the mirror chamber. This leads to Homura!Yuu discovering grim to be innocent in your arrival here and just simply… wants to be able to grow stronger.. hmm why do you feel like you’ve heard that before

Upon Grim proving his innocence and quite frankly become official scared of Homura!Yuu in comes the ghosts to scare him some more! They watch you chase him down and wanted to join in on the fun.

Mind you, you aka Homura!Yuu are still on guard and still transformed so you obviously attack the ghost with grim ending believing you attacked them for his protection! You didn’t, but if it makes up for scaring the piss outta him sure 👍 well go with that.

Now we continue with canon from here with Crowley calling you a beast tamer and hiring you as a janitor yadda yadda, but Grim ends up referring to you as his Bodyguard instead of henchman in this one! Which if Homura!Yuu was going to be honest, Grim was 1,000 percent a bigger improvement then kyubey.

I totally wanna make a side writing blog and make more stuff like this if it gathers the attention of others lol, I already have it made I just need to edit it along with my other side account where I used to post art until I took them down due to tumblrs Ai update lol

Once I’m done fixing up those two I’ll make a master post with the users of all three of my blogs and my ao3 too lol

I had another idea just popped up.

So what if yuu and grim got kidnapped???

The story goes like this;

Yuu and grim got a pass to go outside NRC to go some shopping or like explore. When they were on their way back to NRC a suspicious white van pulled up and the guy inside said: " Wanna go for a ride?" and obviously Yuu and Grim knew that this guy is V suspicious and decided to run. But the guy was just calm and just laughed the whole thing and said: "Ehhh? Ya wanna play hide and seek? Alright. Am It" and proceeds to cgase Yuu and Grim. When he caught up to them they were knocked out by the guy(maybe it wa his magic or sum drug).

BUM BUM BUM!!

*Insert chaos in NRC*

Ace: Hey- have ya seen Yuu or Grim anywhere?

Trey: No I havent seen them since Friday

Cater: Same

Riddle: well maybe their just not feeling well or maybe headmage have smth for them to do

Deuce: That makes some sense but Yuu would've told us that they were doing smth or even sick

Ace: I have a bad feeling... Or maybe its my stomach-

*insert jack*

Jack: Hey umm... have any of you seen Yuu amd Grim anywhere? They've been gone for a while now

Riddle: No we havent seen them since Friday

Cater: Oh yeah! I forgot that they tolled me that they were gonna go explore the town

Trey: When?

Cater: hmmmm the message they sent me says last saturday-

Riddle: WHAT????

Trey: This is bad

Jack: THEY'RE PROBABLY HURT

Deuce: IT HAS BEEN 3 DAYS ALREADY-

*Ace barging in in the headmage office*

Crowley: TRAPPOLA WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THIS!?!

Ace: They've been gone for about 3 days alread and the last time we saw then was Friday!

Crowley: We must find them immediately!!

*insert calling noises*

Yuu's phone : Hi! This is Yuu's voicemail speaking- Leave a message after the beep

Beep

Crowley: Child you have been gone for 3 days and we are trully worried for your well being and Grim too- Call us when you get this-

Ace: WTF???? "call us when you get this" WHAT IF THEY'RE IN DANGER??!?? I THOUGHT BETTER OF YOU HEADMAGE!!

*ace leaves*

Ace informs the teachers and the dormheads and they were pissed at Crowley so they take action instead.

( so to sum up really quick- yuu and grim left on saturday afternoon, and had in the present time, its already tuesday)

Adeuce, Cater and the whole Ignihyde dorm tried calling and messaging them to get the signal and track them dowm but to no avail.

Malleus cant tp to them bcus he doesn't know where they are, Rook decided to go out and find them himself along side with Epel and Jack.

The rest are hoping and praying to the great seven's they are fine.

With Yuu and Grim (Sunday)

Yuu is still knocked out while grim is trapped inside a small cage.

Grim: HENCHMAN!! DONT YA DIE ON ME!

HEY! YOU!! LET US OUT OF HERE!!

Kidnapper: *chuckles* And why would I? I cant let my adorable yuu go now~ I just got them!

Grim: YOURE SICK!

Kidnapper: Scream all ya want lil tanuki, No one will hear you even if you scream at the verry top of your lungs, so If I were you I would just shut up.

Grim: ....

Kidnapper: Such obedient little tanuki! Now I know why Yuu always reward you with tunna! Youre just so interesting yet adorable

Yuu starts to wake up and is registering what is happening.

Yuu: What- Where am I?

Grim: HENCHMAN YER FINALLY AWAKE!!

Yuu: Huh? Grim, whats going on??

Kidnapper: Ah, Youre awake! Finally- I thought I accidentally killed you!

Yuu: WHO TF ARE YOU AND WHAT ARE YOU TRYING TO DO???

Kidnapper: I cant go into detail now love~ you will soon find out.

The kidnapper took Grim and move hine somewhere far

Yuu: HEY! DONT YOU DARE DO ANYTHING TO GRIM!

Grim: YUU!!!! HELP ME!!!

Yuu: GRIM!!! grrrrrr!!! Thsi stupid ropes!!

this guy is chaotic and feral i’m telling you cuddling session will go either one of two ways, no in between

either he’s super soft and he wants nothing more tha to feel your heartbeat against his chest, or he’s in a very playful mood where he will torture you with his love

first choice happens usually after long days, and he’ll come home and see you doing something in the room, and his heart just gets filled with this deep raw emotion of feeling so lucky to have someone like you, and he drops his stuff at the door

and then he just walks towards you, a tired, yet gently, smile on his face as he envelops you with his arms, burying his head in your neck and sighing, his deep breath causing your own heart to warm

and then he just leans backwards, and you can feel yourself about to fall and you’re like “sir? excuse me -” and then you both fall onto the bed, his weight resting on you like a safety blanket. you can try to move, but it won’t work. he just sits there and keeps you in his embrace. he’ll move it to your bed, but his face won’t move from its position

or, he’ll be chaotic. this is for the days where he is energetic and feeling like an attention-whore, and he’ll b all pouty to get into your embrace. you think it’s normal cuddling, but then you feel him smile against your neck and bite you

you’ll whip around like ??? but he just gives you this grin and smiles, “what? do you want more attention? all you had to do is ask” and then he’ll just kill the living hell out of you while muttering about how greedy you are

so basically it’s either a soft time or a time where he shoves his tongue down your throat

also, he literally smells like warm vanilla. it’s intoxicating, it just invades your senses when you’re near him and you fin yourself unable to escape his loving arms

okayokay i know i said sugawara smells like vanilla and he smells the best. but hinata. smells like flowers. not like...Victoria Secret cheap body spray flower, but genuine nature? like he smells fresh, warm, and loving - all in one

cuddling with him makes you feel super energetic, rather than tired and calm. it’s the way he initiates it, he just gives you his famous smile and then hugs you really tightly and literally drags you over to the bed and turns you around to make sure you’re facing him

his bright captivating eyes stare into yours as he laces your fingers together, legs already tangled together. whenever he’s feeling extra needy, he’ll opt to just wrap his arms around your torso and bring draw you closer to him, chest to chest, heartbeat to heartbeat

rests his chin on your head and talks about his day, his voice not loud or unpleasant, but rather a little gravelly and contemplative

when he gets really excited he gasps and then parts from you really quickly, his hands on your shoulder pushing you back so he can see all of your face as he relays something exciting about his day to you

sometimes likes it when you’re completely on top of him, your head resting on his chest as he laughs and you can’t think of another place you’d rather be.

if you’re laying on top of him, his hands are on the middle of your back, rubbing softly and slowly up and down and he doesn’t even realize it

i feel like cuddling with hinata is a surreal experience. like you just feel your heart fuckin’ kablamo. you feel warm, safe, and accepted. every inch of your body he touches makes you feel like he’s injecting some kind of raw serotonin into you - it’s a type of comfort and tenderness that you’d only get from you soulmate

you can NOT tell me that he isn’t good at cuddling. i mean sure, if you want him to look into your eyes as he whispers sweet nothings to you, that probably won’t happen, but i’ll be damned if he doesn’t make you feel a deep love

he’s bad at showing affection and cuddling but it’s the thought that counts so he’s aight

affection/touch isn’t his love language, it’s more like just...presence? him just being near you and spending time with you is his way of telling you he loves you, so as much as he may want to cuddle, he’s not the best at it

definitely is on like high alert -- like his fingers sometimes twitch because his head is racing with thoughts -- is he good at this? are you comfy? because his arm isn’t

awkwardly tries to shimmy his arms from underneath you and you’ll be like “what’s up” and he says smth mean on accident like “you cut circulation off from my right hand”

ANYWAY,,,when y’all do cuddle, he likes to bury his face in your nape, just because he likes to be surrounded by your scent. sometimes his arms are wrapped around you on both sides, but usually he just hangs on arm across your side

when you’re not facing him, he’s much bolder, so he’ll softly kiss the back of your neck and rub his forehead against you, but if you mention it he’ll get really red and be like “SHUT UP NO I DIDN’T”

OMF he likes to watch volleyball compilation videos on his phone, but he also wants to touch you, so he’ll like wrap on arm behind your neck and then hold his phone with that hand, ya know what i mean? like so both of you can see it? your head is on his chest and you’re both watching videos

cuddling usually happens after a long day of practice and he just wants to exist in silence with someone he loves (you) and it lasts anywhere from like five minutes to an hour

cuddling sessions end with him lips quickly pecking yours and him muttering a ‘thank you’ before getting up and finally doing smth productive

by the way he totally smells like axe. but not in an overbearing way - like somehow he makes the smell..subtle? and socially acceptable. he smells like...home. he smells like kageyama, a little sweaty mixed in with a little bit of deodorant that he slapped on when he knew he was going to be cuddling w/ you after practice

either wants to cuddle you because he’s horny or because he just genuinely wants to feel love and receive all your attention because he’s a soft little horndog like that

it’s the opposite to hinata - he likes it when you’re underneath him and he’s the on laying on top of you, his head buried either between your boobs or resting gently on your chest

cuddling happens after he takes showers, so his hair is down and it’s lightly tickling your skin, causing you to laugh and push his head out the way, only to be met with his playful resistance as he pushes his head back against your hand

sometimes cuddle sessions get extremely playful. like homeboy is jabbing his fingers into your side and laughing like an evil maniac while doing so. he knows you can’t escape his wrath so he just tickles you to his heart’s content

if you turn over on your stomach for some reason, like watching a video on your phone or whatever, he will literally climb on your back, no hesitation. like oh, sorry, did you not want to be crushed by this 5′2 libero? too bad

can only cuddle for so long because he gets restless and wants to do something, like make dinner with you or take a shower, or just something. staying still for long is his one inability

This is a personal opinion but from where I see it the Given movie and the anime itself definitely was... something that I would question because somethings just.. didn't make sense to me. The development of the Characters were either super fast or super slow and it made the pacing really really weird for me idk. But I do think that a huge reason so many people love the Given movie is because of the fact that when you compare Given to OTHER JP BL animes, there's very very slight improvement in terms of the story itself of Given. Is the story poorly executed? Fucking hell, who the hell is going to say no here. But is it better then some of the JP BLs out there? That's depended on how you view BL to be. For a lot of people things like Super Lovers or Hitorijime My Hero are super unbearable to watch because it's "problematic" (which honestly okay, you do you BB) which then leads them to look for BL animes that DON'T have such "themes." Leading them to actually liking things poorly executed but just "not problematic", Given for example.

Given is “not problematic”? Debatable.

Their first kiss was right after Mafuyu finally had a courage to sing a song about his ex who commited a suicide. ???

Problematic doesn’t only mean stuff like “he’s underage”. What about using someone to get over your grief or getting into a relationship with someone who is still not over his ex death and is vulnerable at the moment? Is this suddenly “not problematic” bc they’re same age and he haven’t pushed him into a wall in throws of passion?

To me it’s not even about the fact if it’s problematic or not (it’s rarely not tho, no matter what ppl think), it’s about whether its believable and feels genuine or not. It depends on many factors: situation, characters past, traumas, etc, etc. It depends on the story and how you write it.

Change some stuff and it’s gonna be a completely different thing. Make it like Uenoyama only hugged Mafuyu after the song, even tho he wanted to kiss him, but knows that it’s not the right moment. Make Mafuyu heal first, make Uenoyama be in his own angst that he loves Mafuyu so much for example, but cares about him recover more, so he doesn’t expect for it to go somewhere, then he tries to date someone and Mafuyu first starts getting out there, when he feels like he can start trying again. Someday he gets sick and Uenoyama cancels his date to take care of him even tho it’s nothing serious and then the realization comes. Make Mafuyu kiss him first and take the first step. This would’ve changed everything so much. He should’ve made the first step when he was ready, this would’ve felt so right. Uenoyama kissing him after that song is just.. it feels, I was like ehhhmmm.. weird?

Seeing someone saying that Given is a masterpiece is hilarious to me. The fact that it includes heavy themes like suicide, doesn’t make it a masterpiece, esp when it’s handled this badly. Once again, if you pick such thing as a base for a love story, do it right then, not in a “bibbidi bobbidi boo” kind of thing.

BL or not BL, any relationships, it depends on whether you watch it and it feels plausable or not.

For example, if Yuu says that he can’t live with Mika, my tongue won’t even twist to call it “unhealthy” or be like “dude why”. But if some high schooler in slice of life anime who has a caring family tried to end himself bc his two weeks friend left him, I would’ve yelled “bitch go see a doctor”.

Depending on the story you can sell some feelings or not.

Nezumi and Shion are also problematic according to ppl’s logic these days. But I 100% believe they’re each other’s true loves. Only 11 episodes and it’s sold.

In Given I didn’t believe it. Bc it’s ridiculous, ok? It wasn’t the right place or time to start this relationship. It is not a new love story, it’s just a sad story.

Given movie is slightly better compared to other japanese BL? Why would you offend Sekaiichi Hatsukoi, Uragiri wa boku no namae, No.6 and many others?

Also better where? They kept the same old “’stop, i don’t want to’, but he did it anyway” stuff AND on top of that the story sucks.

The way he used him knowing very well that he was unrequitedly in love with him for so long is so disgusting that it leaves a much grosser feeling than many yaois combined. You’re saying “it’s slightly better” bc they’re of age or don’t have an age difference? I don’t get it. It somehow makes everything better?

No, thanks. I’d rather watch Onodera sleep with Takano in high school with them being genuinely into each other and it going great than whatever happened in the Given movie. I don’t care if they’re both 18 there, it made me feel bad.

I didn’t feel bad, when Wei Wuxian thought “why the fuck didn't I have sex with Lan Zhan back when I was 15? I've really pissed away all my days, haven't I?”. I wonder why is that.

Like what you’re saying here is that their opinion on BL is so low that they automatically would give it 10 out of 10 bc it’s slightly better than smth that they find “unbearable” to watch? What kind of evaluation is that exactly? Maybe also let’s compare each anime to “boku no pico”, then everything will look like a masterpiece.

Like excuse me for the fact that when I watch some shonen-ai and yaoi, I judge it the same way I judge any other genre and any other relationships (hetero or gay) in animes. On a scale whether I care or don’t care, whether I believe that they love each other or don’t, whether it’s a good story or not. I don’t get what it means “it’s good for yaoi”. It’s just not good. This movie is trash, I mean, the relationship in it is trash. Who the fuck cares gay or not gay. Trash relationships are trash. Bad story is a bad story. Whether it’s a bad gay story or a bad hetero story, I don’t give a shit.

The reason I’m more into boy on boy ships is because I love the relationships there more than relationships in most heterosexual couples. My fav hetero ships are either “from hate/attraction to love” stories like “gone with the wind”, “anastasia” or “pride and prejudice” or stuff like “equals without pink goo, who only see each other and don’t need no one else and would die for each other, epic soulmates” like Richard and Kahlan. In anime 99% of those fit bromances, not romances. Like I don’t find Midoriya/Uraraka appealing at all for a reason that “she said ‘hi’, he blushed as a tomato, now they’re supposed to be each other’s romantic interests” is not what I find romantic. I find romantic the fact that Todoroki is forever devoted to Midoriya bc he knows he’s amazing and is not afraid to say it; and he’ll always be there for him when he needs him, no matter what it is, him just sitting there crying, some villain trying to kill him or if he’s too late out ther grossery shopping. Uraraka most of the times doesn’t even care where he is.

Most hetero romantic animes, I just find ridiculous, too cheesy and unrealistic and I’m not ready to watch 50 episodes for them to hold hands. I’m not in that age and I also never found things like this romantic before either. Stuff like Kisa/Yukine, when you meet someone, find him attractive, wanna fuck him, then fall in love accidentally.. yeah, that’s understandable to me. Stuff like Takano/Onodera “I was an naive idiot in high school, but now life made me a sassy bitch and I can’t open up to people as easily” also yes, relatable.

When you’re turning into a tomato bc someone said “penis” and think holding hands will take your virginity or smth, that’s not my thing.

So when I watch BL, I expect more, not less. So if it’s bad, I just say it’s bad, I’m not gonna be like “hmm... unproblematic... then 10/10″ like what?

1stly, even “little mermaid” and “cinderella” are problematic.

2ndly everyone is so focused on purity these days, like storyline don’t matter at all. It’s like any great love story is automatically trash if they have age difference. Any trash love story is great, if they don’t?

Let’s then also rate “Dororo” as 1, bc it’s like 24 episodes of them falling for each other while she’s 11 and he’s 16. Wow, such gross relationships they have during the whole story. Doesn’t matter that she grew up at the end of the last episode, the whole anime she’s a child. And let’s rate Noragami 0, bc 2000 years old perverted Yato is into 15 year olds.

3rdly, some relationship that ppl here call unproblematic are 20 times more problematic, than what they call problematic.

4tly, why the heck it’s like couples who have an amazing character and relationship progression, who love each other to death and will do anything for each other, ppl go: “wow, at the very beginning, he grabbed his wrist, he needs to go to jail”. Meanwhile a relationship who has no base, no story, no logical progression, no anything are “yes, best love story in the world”. Yeah... who cares if it feels like it’s all been pulled out of an ass and doesn’t make sense, very healthy tho.

It sounds lately like if most ppl here had two stories in front of them and one would be about two men who just met and the next day one proposed and they lived happily ever after and 2nd would be some complicated incredible story with a natural progression of the relationship, but they yelled at each other once, they’d be like “1st is better”. Well, not to me, no.

mika is afraid to make his own decisions and is quick to defer to yu, or earlier to krul, probably because he still blames himself for having made the wrong decision that got his family killed. this is probably smth he needs to deal with because even yu repeatedly told him mika should not blame himself for this, and yet... i think mika def needs to stick with the squad for his character to grow.

if he, say, ran off with the vampires again, it'd be terrible because they won't challenge his character in the way that he needs to be challenged. i thought being with the squad would force mika to face some of his preconceptions (all humans are greedy and ugly), but so far the human chars have been busy validating his anti-human bias.

esp yu's little speech on what it means to be human in the last chapter. I fear that when mika smiled and agreed with yu, what he really thought was humanity was indeed irredeemable. his smile looked uneasy to mee (that drop of sweat? and no view of his eyes?) if mika keeps thinking all humans are bad, i don't see how he could grow, but kagami won't give him any reasons to change his mind. i'm really upset about this.

as for yu, i honestly have no idea if there is even a single character that could challenge him to grow right now. mika serves as his foil, but none of his words make any difference. he just cannot reach him. it's sad but i can see nothing short of a devastating tragedy for yu to change.

i agree too that mika can’t be on his own to change (because he needs a human that he can see that isn’t so horrible), so that’s why i’m still hoping he and shinoa might find common ground. it would be so nice to see a scene with just those two where shinoa comes to him and tells him in confidence that she agrees with his point of view, that they actually work this out. mika obviously defensive and disbelieving at first but maybe being able to hear that someone is on his side would do enough to hear her out. and while i would like the rest of the squad to be with them too (especially kimizuki because like you said, the whole issue with his sister should really sway his opinion), i feel like shinoa is the most likely considering she did show at least some hesitation toward guren. additionally, she’s the one that cares the most for yuu out of the group, so she and mika together make the most sense. plus, i like the idea of shinoa, the girl born with a demon inside of her, shows mika that humans can be good and aren’t totally corrupt. (and she needs to get back some of her character, something to make her strong and unique again because shinoa is one of my favorite characters and i desperately want to see her in an active role again). and hopefully with someone else agreeing with him, mika could have some more conviction, because his trauma really is holding him back at this point. he doesn’t want to push too much because what if he’s wrong? what if what he wants to do does more damage somehow? having at least one other character on his side might allow him to finally do what needs to be done.

i am upset about the fact that mika’s views continue to be reinforced, because i feel like kagami just wants to set him up to be wrong. like he thinks all of these things are terrible traits, but it turns out that all of these things that humans do and feel are virtuous. and it’s like...no....they’re not....they’re literally killing other people on a mass scale (or at the very least risking everyone’s lives) just to get what they want. that isn’t virtue. it doesn’t matter if it’s for family. deciding to kill or endanger everyone else, all those others that have families, is not a good thing. i’m just worried it’s going to turn out to be a good thing because guren and yuu are both advocates for it. the obvious favorite of the author and the main character. still can hope he’ll make them wrong though, and right now i’ll expect it to go that way. it’s just strange how he’s going about it right now and it worries me. (as a side note, mika was definitely uncomfortable with yuu’s speech to me. his smile was one of defeat, one that sees yuu’s kindness has become so twisted now that his idea of protecting the ones he loves means killing others, and he has no way of changing his mind. anything he says is brushed aside, his concerns continue to fall of deaf ears like they have for probably months now. mika feels like he has no other recourse but to stay by yuu’s side to protect him, especially with yuu’s insistence that they stay together. this is something he needs to be shaken out of if he is to totally and truly oppose yuu. sometimes, it might be best to be separated if nothing can be done standing by his side).

yuu to me is definitely headed for tragedy, which is another reason i keep with the idea that kagami will ultimately decide to make the decisions made now the wrong ones. i’m thinking mika and squad will have to pay for what happens, and that would be the only thing that might make him change. his family needs to be immediately and tangibly put in danger because of his decisions. he has landed them in trouble before, but all i can imagine pulling him out of this is him, personally, doing real harm to them, because he is so detached from the people outside of them by now. this could come with the clash between him and mika (+hopefully some of the squad members), but i hope it snaps him out of it.

basic summary: “i thought kagami treated me horribly but then i met you lot” -- mika

GIANT HUGE CONTENT WARNING for: suicide, self harm, fucked up mental shit, fucked up coping methods, disordered eating (kinda??), pain and suffering

Setting: during the Final Battle, yuu goes seraph and sacrifices himself to cleanse the entire world. kinda like what he did at nagoya but on a larger scale

yuu was secretly planning smth like this ever since they started planning the final battle (in sanguinem?? tokyo again???) and he was dropping hints leading up to it and being super duper affectionate and emotional towards everyone and spent a lot of time reassuring them all that he loves them so much etc etc. and insisted on mika drinking from him one last time the day they leave bc that means so much to both of them. n at the end of the battle yuu goes seraph and does the thing and there's this huge explosion/burst of incredibly bright light and a huge shockwave and it lasts for several minutes and when the dust clears yuu is lying at the epicenter of a huge crater

and mika gets to him first and the others just hear him scream with grief/pain and they Know. mika is completely incoherent and refuses to leave yuu's body and doesn't let anyone else get close for a while........maybe that's the first time mika tries to kill himself...this is getting a lot darker than i first intended

ok so it's after the battle right and yuu's body is at the morgue and the shinoa squad is back at their house recovering physically and emotionally from everything

like it's their first day back from staying at hospital overnight

and it's morning and mika drags himself out of bed and downstairs and he's dissociating like whoah; and he opens the fridge and the first thing he sees is the several bottles of blood. and it's yuu's blood that they made before the Final Battle; and mika just falls to the floor sobbing bc yuu is gone, he's dead, and yet a part of him is still here?? and feeding mika was always something special for the two of them, it was calm and safe and bonding time

and after mika drinks this yuu will be gone for Real

he's just hit w all this existentialism and reality of the situation

shinoa runs into the kitchen and finds him and he's totally inconsolable

the remnants of the JIDA become the new human government and they let the shinoa squad, including mika, retire early to a house in the countryside for their service.

t starts off w the squad in their new home and it's up in the mountains and it's nice and quiet and there are fields for them to grow their own food and they have a goat or chickens or smth idk but it's empty and they're all grieving

no one really knows what to do w themselves bc not only is yuu dead but they're all retired indefinitely now

kimizuki tries to distract himself w cooking

mika sleeps All The Time like for days at a time bc of vamp metabolism is weird af. so if u add in severe depression and grief u get....sleeping for 3 days straight. also in attempt to get mika out of bed kimizuki ropes him into House Chores™. picture mika and kimizuki at the sink. mika is robotically peeling onions mika and kimi become the food prep team

he likes feeding the chickens. shinoa takes up crochet. shinoa gave the chickens all stupid names

everyone struggles to cope and mika is actively suicidal and the squad tries to bring him out of it

mika loses his appetite from grief/depression and refuses to drink for a week+ at a time and gets really weak and sick. it's ironic bc all this time drinking blood has been the thing he hates most about being a vampire but he kept doing it so that he could save yuu/live with yuu. and now yuu's dead and he doesn't even care about blood at all. like under any other circumstances this would be a GOOD thing to not be thirsty but.

it's a struggle to get him to drink anything bc the old solution of "confront him and cut ur arm or show him blood and then he'll give in and drink" doesn't work anymore bc mika just Doesn't Fucking Care.

someone just ends up jamming their arm into his fangs and he hates it but his instincts are screaming at him to eat, eat, survive even if his mind and heart don't want to

like once he starts drinking his body is like Oh Shit wait this is a really good thing u need this to survive

and then theres panic among the person who jammed their arm into his teeth because oh fuck his jaw locked (as vampires do when feeding sometimes. this was completely on accident on mikas part tho)

at one point yoichi is trying to convince him to drink and is getting really really worried bc mika is in a Bad Place and so he kind of yells at mika “yuu would want you to!!” or smth like that. and mika snaps and starts yelling at him and is Really Angry in a scary vampire way. like he just whirls around and yells at yoichi to shut the fuck up, you don’t know what the fuck you’re talking about, he slams his fist into the wall, he’s baring his fangs and his eyes have this dangerous glint. and yoichi starts crying bc he’s just so scared and worried for mika, and he’s also grieving yuu so much, and he can’t help but be scared when mika acts like that

and then mika feels even worse!! >: D

yoichi is sobbing and mika doesn’t kno what to Do he’s so confused and disoriented and he feels so awful and it’s a Mess. the rest of the squad comes running in and intervenes cuz they heard the yelling

bany: also u know how cats will purr when either happy OR distressed as a self-comfort mechanism?yeah. that happens. its not a happy purr sound. its miserable and throaty and stuttered.

yoichi is crying and saying “i’m sorry i’m sorry” and “i miss him too!!” and kimi and shinoa are trying to comfort him and mika is floundering and sad-purring

bany: mika just. gives up and curls into a ball. just him and the squad and the vibrations in his throat

kimi drags yoichi away, who doesn’t want to leave until mika’s ok, and shinoa and narumi stay and try to talk to mika. he caves and drinks from narumi and then falls asleep for like a day and a half after that. depression symptoms become more exaggerated when ur a vampire bc their metabolism is slower. mika becomes the master of the depression nap.

hey hey what if he and yoichi cuddle after the fight as an apology. mika falls asleep and yoichi starts petting his hair and mika starts purring, then yoichi falls asleep too. yoichi Insists that mika drink from him, or at least drink /something/ bc mika’s had no appetite for weeks and is p much starving himself

bany: he feeds so infrequently and in such small portions the squad starts to notice signs of continual starvation (his cheeks are hollow, his spine should not be that pronounced, holy shit ribs) and say okay this has GOT to STOP

permanent dark circles under his eyes and shaky hands, dizzy spells All the time, his skin was always pale but now it’s paler than normal and all the color is washed out or greyed out

bany: vampires have slow heartbeats right? it should not be as fast as it is

nice thing about living w a group of powerful demon users/human experiments is that they all have a pretty good healing factor so they can lose a lot more blood and be fine than a normal human could

after yuu’s death and things settle down a little and the squad resigns from the JIDA and live in a house together in a small town thats being built again. theres a grave and shrine where yuu is buried, its in the woods a little, and thats where mika spends most of his time. shinoa helped him plant perenials to plant on the gravesite. mika spends most of his time dissociating and remembering and talking to yuu outloud. about how much mika misses yuu and how desperately he wants to be with him, mika cant bear the thought of existing in a world where yuu no longer exits, and that hes so sorry that he could save yuu and that he wants to join yuu in death but he cant bc its impossible. and hes so lonely and he feels like something has been ripped out of him, bc yuu was mika’s life parter and fp.

he tells yuu about all the stuff that happens everyday too, and he also cries a lot. he tells yuu about how his appetite is gone and how ironic it is that something he wanted so bad to happen (to not want to drink blood) was caused by his worst nightmare (yuu’s death)

Melissa: Mika realizes how much he actually appreciated drinking Yuu's blood n stuff and how much he hates that he has no other options now

The squad keep a little schedule without mika knowing and they go and visit him and let him feed from them (or rather, make him)

He doesn't fight back as much as he used to because he just doesn't care about anything

Nory: he reaches a point where he doesnt cry or anything anymore but the only emotion he has is overwhelming grief and self loathing. he talks about how grateful he was that yuu accepted him so enthusiastically and whole-heartedly and always looked out for him even when mika made it difficult; and how much he misses drinking from yuu and how comforting and safe it was because he loved yuu so much and they had so much trust in each other. the first time he drinks directly from one of the squad members he breaks down and is flooded w memories of yuu

also he gets really really furious at the other squad members bc they arent feeling the grief as powerfully as he does. like they still are absolutely grieving for yuu but they start to recover and move through the stages of grief and mika cant

Melissa: Mika thinks it's because humans are fickle and care less and he gets mad at them for being so "shallow"

he takes his grief and angery out on them and yells at them and gets into fights, yelling how they couldnt posssibly understand what hes feeling right now, how dare you, how dare you start to move on….etc..

During one of his angry spurts he just runs into a forest and starts knocking down trees

Nory: someone tries to comfort him and he curls in on himself and hes termbling and sad-purring. kimi tries to stop hm and mika whirls around and snarls “dont touch me” and he looks really feral and its a little scary.

Melissa: He does the neck grab attack thing on someone then looks down on them as tears fall from his face into theirs then he gets off and turns his back toward them and just says "...I'm sorry" then flies away

Nory: he doesnt come back for a day or 2 and he comes back really exhausted and dissociating and bleeding a lot

Melissa: he stabs himself a lot (cue nory sobbing)

he hasnt had any blood in over a weak and he just makes it to the front porch before he faints, his injuries arent healing bc hes so weak. And everyone is like "how do we feed him if he's unconscious???" he wakes up a little when they get him inside and immediately throws up from internal bleeding. (I LOVE SUFFERING)

And they just like try to stop his bleeding enough to get him to be conscious enough not to choke on it.

he drinks from kimizuki then bc his body is running on autopilot at this point and hes to tired to fight the impulses anymore, and after he gets enough in his system he watches his wounds start to heal and he's like "damn it" and is mad and embarrassed w himself later for causing a scene and being an inconvenience.

he was also so drained and out of it he wasnt even thinking about dying he was just in pain and his instincts took over completely

he was dissociating and he didnt even remember going back to the house or fainting, he just wakes up in his bed not knowing what happened or where he is

after a while mika starts sleeping in yoichis room bc its comforting and it lets him forget about anything and just pretend hes a normal teenager

Sleep deprived angst talks are the best kind

yoichi + mika have late night talk sessions that usually involve at least 1 of the crying

mika comforting yoichi tho?? good shit……..in a very quite, subdued way, lots of hugs involved, purring, crying. they finally fall asleep at like 3 am and dont get up till past noon. mika is clinging to yoichi like an octopus.

Mika: holds yoichi

Yoichi: is held

yoi always wakes up earlier than mika but he stays in bed and falls into a doze and hugs mika instead of getting up

bc its so nice to have companionship and also he knows that mika will get really anxious if he wakes up and yoi isnt there

oooooh maybe the first time they sleep in the same bed yoichi gets up in the morning to have breakfast and mika’s still asleep (he needs his rest). and then mika wakes up and panics bc yoichi is gone, and he immediately thinks someting bad happened

mika rushes downstairs bc Gotta FInd YOichi and sees everyone in the kitchen eating breakfast and everythings fine, but he still hugs yoi and checks him over for injuries and doesnt want to let him go. vampire instincts say Gotta Protect Yoichi

and hes like trembling a little bc what if something had happened to yoichi or any of the others??

scenario: mika spends days at a time at yuu's shrine and it's pouring rain and getting to be nighttime so yoichi goes to look for him and he's bleeding from his wrists and not healing bc he hasn't had blood in a week. and yoichi eventually persuades him to come inside. (bany: this kills the man). and basically half carries mika back to the house, and the other squad members are anxiously waiting in the kitchen, mika is basically incoherent but he's just so. miserable. and everyone hurts. he’s dripping blood and cold water and hes a Mess™

yoichi and shinoa get him upstairs and into the bath and mika doesn't even care bc he's just. done.

(also there's mikayoi going on bc i'm lov that shit)

mika says that his life his worthless if yuu is dead and that he's failed his only purpose - to keep yuu safe. and yoichi and shinoa talk about how they need him too bc he's their family now too. and there are nice tender moments with yoichi washing mika's hair

bany: good because his hair would be Nasty and prob needs a good brush

afterwards mika drinks from yoichi bc he's too exhausted to even protest and they have another Tender Moment™

anyway imagine mika and yoichi hugging each other quietly remembering yuu

the squad ovs ends up sleeping in the same room/mattress pile (comfort among others, ect.) but they have like. babysitting mika shifts. they take turns wedging him into the corner of the pile so 1. he can get some fucking sleep and 2. he won't get up and try anything self destructive at tnight. lot of times he can't even sleep OR he sleeps for days at a time
