Psssst. You mentioned no one cares about Philemon, but now I'm curious if you have any thoughts about his role in the games after he disappeared. And for sillies sake, does he have anything to do with the Dance games?
I have been waiting my entire life for this. Anon do you realize how verbose I'm going to get. DO YOU REALIZE? I hope you like read mores. Let me preface this with I am aware and have seen some popular theories, so I'm going to sidestep a lot of them and present one I've built since... well, I became a Persona fan as a teenager. MAJOR PERSONA SERIES SPOILERS LIKE THE ENTIRE THING OK? OK. yes even royal.
The P2 PSP additional scenario is so incredibly important and I think everyone missed the point of it. THE PERSONA 2 PSP ADDITIONAL TATSUYA SCENARIO!!!! It's beyond important, because it reveals to us Philemon can have more than one Avatar we know about, just like Nyarly. (Casual reminder he's like half the shopkeeps in P2. Time Count, anyone? Why was the Time Count so hot. Anyway.) Disclaimer: I'm just a casual fan who has played a LOT of Persona and SMT. I haven't gotten around to all of them, but I've played/finished both paths of 1, 2, 3 (and p3p) as well as 4 and 5. Didn't manage to get my hands on Golden but I've seen enough of it. (It's funny you ask about the dance games, they're the only ones I don't have right now! But my roommate does, and will be gone for a few months soon, perhaps I will take the time to start with p4DAN. I'm atrocious at rhythm games though so more than likely I'll find a video. Anyway.) WHAT is Philemon? If we can't define that, we can't talk about The Positivity Guy Ever.
Tumblr media
So let's talk about Phil. He's a fascinating character. His Persona is just a form of Himself, But Cooler. And he seems to HAVE no set shape, not unlike Nyarlathotep. People have various theories about Shadows and their origins etc., but Phil is more like that vote of confidence in people. I think, personally, that after the end of Innocent Sin, Phil's been pretty weak. We see in Eternal Punishment he's fading pretty roughly, and has a hard time talking to the party. Presumably ending Nyarly might to some degree fix things when Deja-vu Boy goes home, but... the problem is, we don't know how fixed they truly ended up being, or the full depth of how much he could/did expend!
In fact, the first time we even see Phil without the dumb mask is when Tatsuya decks him. Pay close attention to that fact. To the mask motifs here. I want you to really soak in Phil's everything. He's a leader. A kind soul. He's the good of people. He wants to believe the best.
Tumblr media
Anyway, most of these things overlook what I find really interesting as we've gotten more games worth of lore: he and Nyarly aren't the only eldritch entities walking around like that. Yes, Nyx is one too. Yes, it's probable she may even be their 'mom'. It's possible they all came from Nyx initially, but it's also possible (and should be considered) they too may have been outsiders at one point. We need to ask ourselves how far the human collective unsconsciousness can go. Is that sea infinite? Could it affect other worlds? Think about Aion in Devil Summoner Soul Hackers 2. Yes, I am asking you to think about Soul Hackers 2. Deal with it, I don't care. They're sister series. They share many things. SO! Did the shape of the human mind change a bunch of eldritch creatures and make them interact with us even more after Nyx smacked the moon a gazillion years ago? Is there multiple worlds? Weird bullshit? Just the two? Hmm. Well... I, personally, think so. I think he was touched by humanity just like Nyarlathotep, but in the other way. The reason I bring this up is two-fold. The first is Nodens. Now, we don't know much about the actual Nodens, unfortunately, just some speculation. Which is a shame. (If anyone has more info I'd love to have it, ngl. As a pagan this shit fascinates me.) But what we do get on him in Lovecraftian lore can provide us some intriguing possibilities about Phil's everything, which the games love to keep really rather vague. (And this is putting aside that his human Persona is based off the obviously bogus Jungian Spirit Guide, but we love an old guy in a mask anyway. He probably felt that was more 'friendly' for humans, hah.) I believe that Nodens, and Phil by extension, are just as responsible for nurturing and keeping the collective unconsciousness alive and positive. We see the butterfly symbol everywhere. We see it with Lavenza, too. "This is truly an unjust game." So was the bet Phil made with Nyarly, a game he rigged. Phil made the mistake of thinking the Crawling Chaos wouldn't cheat, a mistake he is never making again, I assume, if he can help it. Shit, you could view his boss fight in P2EP as him trying to train the EP crew to beat the snot out of Nyarly, even. But off topic. If Nyarly is basically the father of all Shadows, and they and Personas are the same coin, it makes me wonder a lot of things. The two have always been portrayed as simultaneously diametrically opposed, but also not? They have identical halls in P2. They have similar powers and talents... I think after Persona 3, Phil's remnants sank into the Collective Unconsciousness, to attempt to rehabilitate humanity from what it lost, from what he himself lost. I think Igor took over the room, because he took a backseat to recover. It would go a long, long way towards explaining why only SOME characters have the tier of the Wild Card, which is similar to the 'original' Persona power. (Having multiple.) He was took weak to remain in his Spirit Guide (Philemon) form, and had to abandon it to return to the depths as Nodens... So. Let me go back to Nodens and make some notes about design.
Tumblr media
Nodens, as seen here, sort of resembles an iron maiden. It really brings to mind the idea of maybe Tatsuya or someone's humanoid form sleeping within it, doesn't it? Fitting for an aspect of Philemon! ... You probably can see where I'm going with this, but let me pull up some screens to finish the point:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
That's right! It's Azathoth, Baby! I believe that unlike mythology, he's yet another aspect of Philemon. Eldritch positivity, in too much force, could be used for accidental bad, too. (Reasons Maruki is my favorite Law Hero, haha.) Let me explain. I think Philemon always existed in... let's call it parts. Azathoth is said to be a dreaming god in whom's universe we all just happen to be alive inside, right? "Dream of butterfly" (Philemon) "Or is life a dream? Don't wanna wake up. Cuz I'm happy here." That sure is thematic to what Maki goes through in Persona 1, and what Maruki's beloved suffers, isn't it? ISN'T IT. The "true reality" he creates... would help Maruki create in the additional Semester--would be something most humans would never pass the muster to even try to control. But we have seen Phil test a few people and find them worth passing before! However, that seems like ages ago. Why has he been so quiet? I think because he was spending time conserving his energy. He believed in humanity enough to give Makoto a push when it was needed in p3 (or femc, if you play her), but otherwise trusted Igor while he restored what needed it. But in Persona 5 Royal, he hand-picked Maruki, didn't he? At first, when I played Persona 5 Royal, I really thought it was some part of Nyarly, but I no longer believe this to be the case. The coloration and symbolism in the background (the golds, the whole garden of eden themes, the way his Palace was laid out), the whole sea of soul motifs in P3Re later... mmm. I have a lot of thoughts about this, but this post is already way too long for one simple ask. So let's wrap up by going one step further and looking finally at Nodens' dialogue to the party in the Extra Scenario in Persona 2: Eternal Punishment (PSP). The following is a transcript, you can find a video here:
Nodens: This is the memory of the lost child whom you all seek. Nodens: Memory occasionally brings about much distress and suffering, but it is absolutely vital to distinguish oneself from others and manufacture one's own psyche. Nodens: Ever since it began, life's memory has accumulated unbroken, passing through individual experiences and spanning several generations. Nodens: And so it has given shape to Kadath and the Collective Unconsciousness, thereby becoming a foundation for the next generation. Nodens: Even if the roots of the world are directed by fear and anxiety, never forget that the true essence of life is brimming with joy. Nodens: You must not stop seeking the answer for why life was born in a cosmos progressing towards absurdity and chaos. Nodens: Life brims with joy, bringing about balance in a universe predestined to heat death, and that allows the world to live a long time.
So to answer your question, I think he's taken a much subtler role. I think he's influencing people by pretending to be a Persona for Maruki, because he believes it will help them grow. I don't think he was intending a forever-control vice grip, but rather to prove a point. No matter what, the primordial chaos of humanity will rise up for chaotic good, lawful good, whatever "good" is needed. Azathoth is... interesting. Adam Kadmon is also interesting. But mostly I HIGHLY suspect we may see him again in Persona 6, or at least I'm hoping so. It's my personal pet theory by then he'll be less faded and come back to us in a new form of some kind. He's never had a set one, after all. Now for funsies about the dancing game, well, he's a positive guy, he wanted to just make sure everyone had their fitness regimen checked off. Obviously. (This is a joke.) Did the devs intend this? I'm honestly not sure? Like there's a lot of nods to older Personas in 5 and now 3RE especially, but it's definitely worth chewing on. I could go on and on about things I think he's connected to, but ultimately they have the final say lol. I'm just a crackpot conspiracy theorist on tumblr who really likes Philemon. He and the Room are my favorites. :) Ask me about attendants for additional dumb, sometime, I guess lol.

UK Edge Magazine Issue 181 - November 2007 Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 (vanilla) in Reviews
this article is actually reviewing the american version rather than the european one - only because persona 3 vanilla hadn't yet come out in europe ! the eu recieved vanilla on february 29th, 2008, half a year after america. often forgotten is that persona 3 was europe's first persona game (but not first SMT, beaten by nocturne in 2005), having missed revelations and eternal punishment entirely. the review compares the gameplay of p3 to canis canem edit (bully, for all you ntscheads), and implies the reviewer opted for the kendo team in their playthrough ^_^
Transcription under the cut:
Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 Format: PS2 Price: $50 (US), £30 (UK) Release: Out Now (US), TBC (UK) Publisher: ATLUS Developer: In-House
Suicide is painless?
Anyone who's ever complained that there aren't enough hours in the day will be pleased with Persona 3's premise. Soon after enrolling your character at the local Japanese high school you're accepted into a covert society and let in on an enormous secret: there are, in fact, 25 hours to a day. The extra 'dark hour', as it's known, occurs every night at midnight. The vast majority of the populace is unaware of its existence as, for its duration, they are rendered unconscious and sealed in coffins, oblivious to the shadow creatures that emerge outside and roam the world looking for prey. A few humans remain unaffected by the phenomenon and, as one of them, it's in the sparse company of these cognoscenti that your character finds himself after dark.
The group, called the Specialized Extracurricular Execution Squad, is responsible for holding back the shadow creatures' advance while trying to uncover the secrets of their origin, a huge multi-storey ephemeral tower named Tartarus, which emerges each night in the school grounds. Tartarus takes the form of an upwardly built dungeon whose Rogue-like floorplans change every visit. Your overarching mission is to scale the tower bit by bit (don't panic: a warp opens up every five floors) while leveling up and discovering new Personas: creatures that can be summoned to aid you in battle.
While this is a little traditional, the dark hour is just one element to an unorthodox game whose scenario manages to twist it out of the firm grasp of its JRPG roots. In the main this is achieved by the dark hour's counterpoint: daytime, during which you participate in the lessons, clubs and societies of a Japanese school. Here, in a similar way to Canis Canem Edit, you're tasked with daily studying, exam taking and after-school clubs and sports, all minigame-style pursuits that are used as a means to build and enhance your character's abilities. Three core stats (academics, charm and courage) must be raised by taking part in a wide range of different activities from enrolling in the school's kendo team to visiting the karaoke bar in the local mall of an evening. Raising these statistics while building and fostering relationships in school is crucial to creating stronger Personas to make your character more powerful on the nightly battlefield. By linking the game directly to 2009's school term calendar and breaking every day into seven distinct stages (from early morning through lunchtime to late at night), you quickly settle into the comfortable rhythm of a education system, which provides an excellent framework for the disparate mechanics to slot into.
The game's aesthetics are unusual for the genre. Low-poly environments, simple character models and drab lighting are the uninspiring visual building blocks. However, thanks to some ingenious use of beautiful anime artwork the game fizzes with life as character portraits zoom into shot to personify the dialogue while slick and design-conscious menus add some contemporary style.
As with any game that's based on repetitive tasks set in unchanging environments, its rhythm in time becomes a little monotonous. However, the frequent boss battles (introduced every few levels of Tartarus) and surprisingly compelling relationships you foster daily inspire perseverance. Games with distinctive souls are rare things but Persona 3 succeeds in displaying a mesmerising personality that touches the many well-crafted aspects of its curious and singular approach.
Captions, left to right:
Personas are ethereal creatures that are summoned from your unconscious mind to lend their abilities in battle. For this reason, the stronger your relationships with other students or groups the stronger your 'inner self' is and the more powerful your Personas will become. One of the most enduring images from the game comes from the way in which characters summon a Persona: by putting a gun (known in the game as an 'evoker') to their temple before pulling the trigger. To players not closely familiar with anime culture it's a shocking image that's used repeatedly, and since the game's release has attracted keen debate in the US as to its suitability.
Fans furious at the lack of a Japanese audio option have already released on the internet a patched version known as an 'undub', with English subtitles but original voices.
In battles, you only gain direct control over your own character. Your teammates can be given general directions (such as to major on offensive moves or healing) but their specific actions are handled by the competent AI.
You aren't forced to visit Tartarus every night. If you'd rather you can meet up with a friend at the local mall, visit a club in town or spend the evening at your desk studying, all of which level up aspects of your personality.
Persona cards can be fused together with one another to create entirely new monsters, and much of the deeper level of play is concerned with maximising resources to uncover the most powerful Personas in the game.

SMT IVF Post-Release Interview WITH SPOILERS (04/13/2016) Translation
Translator: VerdantGrove
ENG Proof: Elegy
This is a translation excerpt of a post-release interview for SMT IVF. The original interview can be found here; the contents that were translated is all of page 3 and half of page 4. This portion of the interview discusses some developmental details regarding the characters.
Interviewees:
Kazuyuki Yamai (referred to as Yamai) - producer
Satoshi Oyama (referred to as Oyama) - director
Masayuki Doi (referred to as Doi) - character designer
Ryota Kozuka (referred to as Kozuka) - sound composer
Dreamwidth Link
The Appeal of Engaging With This Work That Grows More Fascinating As More Is Revealed
In the previous interview, we heard that in the first iteration of the project, the protagonist was an older adult. We would like to inquire about the particulars involved in both the game, “SMT IVF,” and the transition from that previously established aspect.
Doi: This time, we’ll present this illustration of the protagonist from the early stages of the project for the first time. (Illustration below). Though you may be able to understand this fact just by looking at the illustration, this image was ultimately reflected in Asahi’s father; Asahi inherited the pilot-style attire from him. In the initial stages of the project, the approach we took to the story was that of an adult protagonist, Nozomi, and Navarre journeying together—we’d yet to conceptualize the other companions.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kozuka: I had seen the project proposal at that time as well, but they were also considering making Navarre the protagonist for a short while, and, although it’s MegaTen, they were coming out with dramatic parts that were a bit “slice-of-life”-ish, so it proved to be quite challenging content—I was puzzling over what music would be suited for such a story.
Yamai: With regards to the sequence of events prior to the beginning of the major conflict of this work, Jonathan had become the seraph Merkabah, Walter had consecrated himself to the Demon King Lucifer, and Flynn and Isabeau had come to bear the respect and aspirations of the people of Tokyo on their backs. Out of all of those samurai, it was only the failure Navarre who had been unable to accomplish anything. Which is exactly why we thought that we’d dig even deeper into his character.
Oyama: However, there was some mixed reception in-house to the idea of intertwining Navarre with the main characters, so I recall, contrary to expectation, being stirred into action by the phrase “You hate him that much? Then I’ll just make him a ghost!”
Yamai: The theme we wanted to depict in this project was “growth from failure,” so myself and Mr. Oyama were both Navarre stans¹ to a degree (laughs). However, if it were to be a completely new work, Mr. Doi wanted to create a protagonist who could stand alongside Flynn. We also reconsidered the idea of making the protagonist an adult, determining that if we were to depict a theme of growth, boys and girls would be much more suited to that—thus, ultimately, the work settled into what it is today.
—So the other companions came to be after you decided to make the protagonist a child, then?
Doi: To give you a glimpse into the change in setting, initially, Asahi had much more of a strong-minded personality, and Toki was a frail shrine maiden of the Ring of Gaea, and such—so there was a considerable change. As everyone was pitching their ideas on what kind of partners we should add to make the drama more interesting for the protagonist, I drew various concepts for them. And as the construction of the scenario and systems progressed, the character’s settings and roles began to solidify.
Yamai: One of the reasons we changed Asahi’s personality to a braver one was because every character that surrounds her, including the protagonist who returned from the dead with the strength of the demon god Dagda, is a superhuman being. Amidst all of this, we found ourselves wanting to include a character who was almost an ordinary person while still making her into a childhood friend who stood close to the protagonist.
—In regards to Toki, she wasn’t an assassin at first, yes? Her “true face” is also quite striking.
Doi: I knew that I wanted to illustrate some sort of gap, so I had her wear a mask to hide her true face, as well as having her give off the unapproachable aura of the Ring of Gaea that she’s a member of. Even so, I aimed to bring about the charm and appeal that you’ll discover when a girl like that opens up her heart.
Yamai: Also, as for why she’s an assassin—The Ring of Gaea is an influence that holds the chaotic ideology of “it is those with strength who survive.” However, since those associated with them are humans, there are also likely cases of married couples who enter the Ring and sacrifice their children to it. Toki’s upbringing, of course, was within this environment, and thus was very unusual.
Doi: As for the gap aspect, that also has a backing in Hallelujah showing a sort of “awakening.” At the start of the project, we had him as half-Japanese and half-Black. We thought, “Naturally there’d be foreigners in this closed-off Tokyo, so if a child like this made an appearance, it could show the current status quo or idiosyncrasies of this world or something.” Afterward, once we established him to be a member of the Ashura-Kai, he became half-human and half-demon. I was asking for ideas on how to portray Hallelujah’s “awakening” in a way that’d fire everyone up, and I expressed that to the staff who were helping me with my work. When it came to the hair color and such, they just switched through the options on the computer super fast, and when I thought “that’s the one!” we discussed it together.
—So the player’s impression of both Toki and Hallelujah changes the more they play the game. Especially with the depiction of the Tokugawa Mandala surrounding them…
Yamai: Throughout a series of events, Toki comes into contact with the Aether, which elicits many emotions such as that of lust, and that later causes her hidden side to peek through again and again. (laughs). That serves as the background for some drama as well. To begin with, on top of that scenario, a situation occurs where the Demon Summoning Program becomes unusable, yet there also exists in this world a force that can transcend the program and summon demons. On top of that, if we look back at Japan’s history, during the Edo Period, this country was closed off to the rest of the world and was forcefully opened in its final years. Furthermore, there’s also the interpretation that Japan’s ancient gods ended up being encroached upon by gods and demons of other countries and that we should push back against that encroachment. When in reality, there are plenty of temples all over Japan that worship those kinds of unsavory things. The Divine Powers that appeared for the first time in SMT IVF used the Tokugawa Mandala, composed of the five Fudo temples located all over Tokyo, like a mystical barrier to seal off the Demon Summoning Program. By no means was this an event that was created for the sole purpose of making Toki do or say something provocative—when we were deciding who would be the best at practicing self-restraint when their heart was assailed by the desire that comes from being touched by the Aether, we came to the conclusion that Toki, as an assassin from the Ring of Gaea who was raised to discard her emotions as much as possible, would be the most suitable.
—The demon Krishna, leader of the Divine Powers, had quite a strong impact within the story as well, wouldn’t you say?
Doi: For me personally, Krishna was the one who I designed to be closer to a human, rather than a god or a demon. The reason for that is that he’s in a position where he’s appealing to mankind for “salvation,” and so we thought that it would be better suited to our goals to have him take the image of someone who meets the humans halfway rather than someone divine. Originally, in the form where he’s depicted as a god of Hindu mythology, the color of his body was blue, as opposed to black, which is considered impure. However, if he were to retain his blue color after taking a human form, he would be feared, so we gave him brown skin in this work. Even so, we wanted to leave remnants of that blue-skinned image behind, so we kept that element in his hair color. The fact that he’s clad in Western-style clothing in this work is intended to capture the hearts of people today, and it’s also historically grounded in the British rule of India.
Kozuka: As for the sound design, we gave all of the other gods and demons a voice effect that gives them an otherworldly feeling, but it’s only Krishna whose voice we left as human-like, yet powerful.
—I see. I suppose that means that hundreds of years before Krishna’s resurrection in this work, when he was in this world, he took a different form than he currently has…?
Doi: That’s how I think of it. To add on, this is only one interpretation of the work, but I believe that the “Vishnu Flynn” who makes an appearance in the story is closer to Krishna’s original form.
Yamai: There’s the dimension that the gods of “SMT IV” and “SMT IVF” have established their power and existence due to the faith and recognition of humans, which is very unique compared to other related MegaTen games. In a sense, the gods are in a scramble competing for the attention of humans, but it’s difficult to truly move people’s hearts by simply forcing them to say something. In this work, Lucifer and Merkabah both take human forms, and that’s one reason why.
Doi: You can see a trend among angels who want to gather the faith of humans in that those towards the bottom will have a form more similar to a human, and the higher they rank, the further detached from humanity they become—you can think of that as another reason.
Yamai: Of course, this is the world of “SMT IV” and “SMT IVF,” so even if there is a next installment, it won’t necessarily be the same.
TL Notes
1: The original Japanese word used is oshi, which literally means “to push for/support.” However, in fan culture, oshi has grown to be used in a similar way to “stan”—a Navarre oshi would be considered a Navarre stan, and someone saying their oshi is Navarre would be equivalent to saying that he is their favorite/bias.

saying that something 'is fictional' does not equal condoning it in real life. People say that their dark content stories are fictional because .. they are. These are not real scenarios or wishful thinking, they're exploring a dark subject in a fictional environment with characters that are not real, and it's really messed up how folks (including you) will dogpile on and attack just because someone saw a post they didn't like the tags and content warnings of, then decided to take it public.
This is evidenced by the fact that the original op hasn't even *read* the fic in question. It was tagged properly, they could've avoided it if they filtered out content they didn't like, yet they CHOSE to engage with it and take it public.
Imagine if your posts were taken out of context in that way. What if people started calling you a zo/ophile because of your dragon posts, despite the fact that dragons aren't real? I doubt that'd feel great for you, especially if you suddenly had a bunch of outraged people in your inbox accusing you of animal abuse because you ... Wrote a story.
And honestly, if you feel the need to participate in these sorts of discussions by jumping in headfirst on the first callout post you see disparaging people then it might be time to take a step back from Tumblr for a while. In most cases, social media like this is not a productive conduit for conversations and it just winds up being a slapfight about who can send the most petty, mean messages to one another or coerce more people into harassing the other until they delete or deactivate.
i havent seen the writers blog but a mutual of mine did and they said that the writer seemed to be in a not so okay mental state as they had said smt smt abt being in love with their own brother who is a real person and was trying to defend their fic. as ive said, in my current opinion, dark content writing and consuming is fine if its done in a healthy manner. but defending it just seems wrong yknow?
and yeah, like youve said, i am done with tumblr. i dont understand why you decided to come here anon when i stated in my latest anon answer that i was finished with talking about this thing. tumblr is becoming a not so safe place it seems. i am sorry if the things ive said/write were harmful or negative, i was simply trying to say that condoning dark content bc it was simply fiction and romanticizing it was weird. that was all i wanted to say

Hello! I wanted to make an ask about a what-if that was floating around in my head for a while (like 2 days.)
The “what-if” being a scenario in which a cub appears in the little dawn au form the future. Only that the cub is not Wukong’s and Macaques, it’s trafficlights trio’s future cub. (They can be from an alternate universe in which MK stay’s in sundown au or from somewhere else.)
What would be everyone’s reaction to the future grandchild/child? Personally I think their personality would be a lot like young MK or Mei (maybe a bit like macaque seeing as they probably spend a lot of time with their grandma?) and that they would be really spoiled by their grandparents and pearents.
I see the child as a female and closer to a bull demon in appearance (cus ya know, their from the demon bull clan? They kinda have to be a bull to fit in?) but honestly it could be what ever you want. (Imagine if they had the face markings like Mk’s side of the fam? Or maybe their hair is black like Mei’s?!)
As for how the child even came to be, I would say that it was through some weird magic (maybe they inserted all their power into a stone? Blood rituals/magic???)
OMG, what if the child traveled back in time to meet their Maba (bama? Baba? Papa?) MK because for what ever reason something happed to MK and he can no longer be around! Maybe he was killed! Idk, at this point I’m rambling.
Sorry for the long ask. I originally didn’t know where to send this because there are like, two blogs making posts about sundown AU and I didn’t know who I should be sending this to (but because Xiaodan is from you fic “little dawn” I decided to send this to you.)
chapter 11 was a bomb (I just finished it before sending this) and if you want you can ignore this entire ask, just tell me if you do so I don’t end up expecting anything or smt (or don’t, you can do whatever you want.)
Thank you for reading this silly and kinda dumb rambling, I honestly don’t even remember what the original ask was but thank you for reading through all this. Have a lovely day or night filled with unending joy and kind thoughts. You are appreciated and I am so great full you took time out of your life to write your stories and read through this whole thing.
Bye bye 👋
Hello there! Don’t apologize about the length of l the ask. I love to see people getting excited over this amazing AU (belonging to peachshadows/terrible-leviathan, please don’t hold off on giving them some love they deserve the world for their creativity). To clarify, the Sundown Era is their creation while Little Dawn, a fluffier spin off the AU, was expanded on by me with the fic.
As for the scenario, I’d theorize that there would be a lot of chaos. If this is happened during the Little Dawn setting with MK already dropping into the world, SD!Shadowpeach would be thrilled at the idea of another cub/calf to spoil and look forward to - also cementing their time travel theory. SD!Ironbull would he similarly doting while also pushing for the wedding sooner. I mean, it’s obviously going to happen so why not sooner?
Red Son would be flustered and over the moon at the same time at the confirmation of a child and would do his best to “prove” his ability to childrear in front of MK. I feel like Mei would think the kid is cute but also be a little nervous? She’s not at the point in life where she’s ready for a kid. Would still spoil and play with the baby, though.
As for MK? He’s just worried that another universe is missing their kid. He’s stressed and worried for not one, but two babies that don’t belong. He would be flustered about the implications of the baby’s existence if he wasn’t already in a difficult position.
Thanks for this fun ask! And thank you for reading Little Dawn!

Okay so maybe that's the thing that only me cares and wonders about but there are some rumors from some leakers that Atlus plans P1 remake to be the next remake after P3Re and if that would be truth, I really wonder how they're gonna handle a rather controversial situation with Tamaki and Tadashi tbh (basically for people who don't know about the controversy - in original classicsona, the writer made his self-insert named exactly like him to ship with SMT If femc - who was only 15yo in her OG game btw- after naming her after irl popular 90's japanese actress (which I imagine had to be very uncomfortable and creepy for the actress btw) 🤮 and it already was perceived as controversial in the time classicsona came out)
Like the most realistic scenario is probably that they just leave it as it is, since they also did nothing to remove equally as controversial Ken's romance route in P3P port or they will remove that girl entirely (which is the thing I really fear for, that they would bury every link to SMT persona ever had ;_;)
Ideally, imo OG persona's writer (if he'd be involved in P1 remake but imo he should be) should just move on from his actress simp era and in the remake, design another character at Tadashi's place with entire different name and backstory and actually make their relationship with that new character less toxic (because imo their relationship was toxic af in classicsona, they always argued even about the most mundane things and he ran away from her at the end - I don't mind character being in toxic relationship though as long as authors don't glorify it and ideally let the character move on from it after some time and show that it was toxic -I just think that girl deserves much better)...or just make Tamaki strong and independent girl that doesn't need a man lol
But an acceptable scenario for me would be if they at least changed his name to something else to break the link between the character and the writer tbh, even that would make this entire situation less creepy tbh
Also if they'd "neofied" classicsona in the remake (which I pray they wouldn't, but seeing P3Re got pretty much "P5-fied" in almost every aspect makes me almost sure they will do ;_;) - Tamaki better got her Social Link, I swear. As much as I hate the idea of "neofying" classicsona, I think it would be very interesting and a good chance to learn her own perspective of the SMT If story and what happened to her between If and P1 (since we only somewhat know male protag's perspective because of Kahn manga, but never hers)
So yeah, I think she deserves better than her treatment in the original classicsona trilogy and I hope she'll get the better and less controversial treatment in P1 remake if the rumors are true and it will really came out one day ;_;
But realistically I know Atlus will pull an Atlus and either won't care or never make P1 remake and the rumors will turn out to be false 😭

okay writing down my SMTV:V (world's funniest abbreviation btw) thoughts here before I forget. Full spoilers for the original SMT V you've been warned.
OKAY. SO. FIRST OFF WOW I am so so glad they are taking another stab at an alternative scenario instead of just doing either a base Maniax version or the route stuff Redux did. I really appreciate the first game's scenario (as controversial it is) and I wanna talk about what the director said about The Bull and The Snake.
SMT V vanilla is, to me (and friend's I've discussed it with) a game about bonds, the destruction of set standards, and most importantly Being Forced To Go Against Your Own Ideals. The way SMT V twists and distorts alignments and breaks them down is EXTREMELY interesting, but more importantly I think it's important that they don't necessarily Reflect What's Given.
Time and time again the game lets you know this is not the Nahobino's choice. This is a choice of an auxiliary force, and even at the end things don't really land on where they might have. The protagonist is an unwilling figured dragged along in the plans of others to the very, very end. A character that nothing works out for, because they have a fate they must choose.
This is also reflected in Tao's character as well and her lack of agency near the end. While joining Naho is her choice she's...kinda a victim of it all. A saint chosen by Bethel who is used as a martyr figure who then only comes back later, to reveal that she is going to disappear. Everything that makes Tao herself is taken from her, as she becomes a function in the wheel of life and not her own.
The Naho and Tao as figures have the power and fate to change the world, but never for themselves or their own ideals. Never for a better tomorrow, and even when that's chosen they must reckon with a broken throne. Even when Naho desires a normal, peaceful life without divinity in the true route he cannot get it. He is trapped. With Tao as the throne, and him as the lone overseer of all.
This is the bull! It's easy to see, how the horned king sits atop with nothing to share, nothing to love. And this where I'm really interested with Vengeance. Especially considering (guess who) LILITH! Because, in an interesting twist, LUCIFER actually represents the snake who offered knowledge to people in the context of SMT V!
Assuming the other figures within the group will follow suit, I think this is going to be a story about lashing out at the set systems and the snake represents a place of dis-empowerment. A place of rejection, and one where I think many characters are gonna see themselves way, way more active.
In the trailer, Tao says this very interesting line. "You're not along, if you want revenge I'll help you get it." We're then shown a shot of her with Sahori, which means this line is being said there or is probably from another part of the game. But IMMEDIATELY I think it's a very very very big deal to talk about!
Tao as a character is someone who's set into a complacent position through Bethel (and tbh the game too a little), so a self declaration like this could mean a lot of things! On top of this, we see her WELL and alive during the Lahmu section (with Atsuda replacing Lahmus place? Hello?)
Miyazu as well seems to be more directly bitter in the trailer (pleaseee let Khonsu stuff be in the main story lol) which indicates a more direct active role as well! Both her and Tao are very much characters who've been hurt or exposed as weak in the systems that they're trapped in. And fucking hell I'm curious what they're gonna do.
The Bull is a representation of given power, but a lack of control. Thus thematically, I like to think this may mean the snake represents gained power through one's own control. SMT V is a game about the people and their struggles, the way the universe has dealt them unfortunate hands, and how they must brunt this fate even if it is to make them miserable and they never "win". So perhaps this is a story of victory, or clawing for victory as hard as one may.
oh also i think yoko and lilith are def a naho pair lol THANKS FOR READING

Fic questionssss
If you're writing a specific au (a Disney au or smt, for example) how do you fit the characters you want to write into the roles in the au? (this probably isn't very clear so, like, as an example: fitting wesper into beauty and the beast)
What do you do when dialogue isn't flowing right?
Do you use writing prompts often in long fics?
omg hello love!! i have a bunch of answers, apologies if they're a bit incoherent today 😅
1: i totally get what you mean with like, pre-set AUs and fitting characters to this. i think you can get a LOT of really OOC AUs like this but for me the key thing is just accepting that to write an AU of an existing story, you will need to change things about the original setting or plot. like i have seen some where people are so clearly trying to shove two characters into existing scenarios where they just don't fit, and often dynamics that are just??? not thought through?? and i think that generally these types of AUs are fun when you use them as a spring board rather than a doctrine. regency wesper au is a very good example of this because it's not really a bridgerton au, because that just wouldn't work??? for a dozen reasons. and a few times when drafting i had them do things that were just wildly OOC so i had to restart and think about what they would do in that situation, damn the fact it changes the actual fundamental narrative of the source AU. which honestly comes from just having a good grasp of both the AU source and the fic source and really consciously trying to make connections in what is both explicitly written and left vague
2: dialogue can be SUCH a struggle but i find it's sticking worse when i'm trying to get characters to say things that i want them to/that progress the plot, rather than getting them to say what i think they'd say? which can at times be a hint that you're forcing them unnaturall into something, so it can be a good time to review what you're trying to make them do and why. i also reread/watch source material when this happens to reacquaint with their actual voice, which sometimes helps!! and when in doubt, filling in with a place holder like '"something about character a's pretty eyes," said character b' and coming back to it can help keep up flow without getting totally bogged down in the, minutae
3: i don't really use like, those long lists of writing prompts that you get on tumblr (like these) for anything at all other than lil ficlets, but i readily and freely draw inspiration from many things in life (artwork, music, general tumblr posts, other media, shit that happens to me irl, stuff my partner/friends say about the fic i'm working on or just generally)!! i think for me it's more about letting inspiration come freely and snatching up opportunities when they get my creative beans flowing rather than seeking out answers - although i do think that those long prompt list type posts can be a good way of thinking about things generally and think it's great to encourage if it works for you!

I match Ghost with…
(Genshin)
Xiao!
The two of you definitely met on accident while you were being attacked or smt
Like you were in some flower field somewhere just chilling and suddenly some hilichurls appear from nowhere
Cue Xiao’s entrance
He beats them up and you kinda just look at each other for a bit, both of you too awkward to know what to say or do
“...It’s getting dark, you should stay at the nearby inn until morning.”
And then poof, he’s gone.
But you take his advice and go there anyway
Surprise surprise, you run into each other again
It begins to happen more and more frequently as you stay at Wangshu inn
You kind of just vibe together in silence until the two of you slowly warm up to each other
Over the course of a few months we don’t question why you stayed that long you and Xiao become friends
And then slowly, more than friends
By this point, Xiao has vowed to protect you with his life
Despite how quietly the relationship began, the two of you often go into deep discussions about whatever topic comes up.
More often than not you talk to him about your interests, or he’ll talk to you about his happy memories with the other yakshas
You like to take Xiao with you to the mountains every now and then
Getting there isn’t a problem with his teleportation
You point out the names of flowers, and maybe make him a flower crown
“Ghost, what is the point of these.. Flower crowns..”
“They look nice :)”
“...Alright”
He still doesn’t understand, but he can’t say no to you<3
I match Ghost with…
(Tokyo Revengers)
Mitsuya!
You go to the same school
The textiles club went to the art students to ask if they could help design a project with them!
And that’s how you and Mitsuya met
The two of you would work on the project together at school most days
One day he asked if you wanted to go to his to do some more work (I know this sounds like a cliche hook up scenario, but I promise it’s not)
His sisters were a little scared of you at first
Especially when they heard Mitsuya joke about you being an old man
He had to assure them that you were in fact a friend from school
After a while his sister grew to adore you
Especially when you drew their favourite characters for them
Cue them asking Mitsuya if he’ll date you
“What? Don’t be silly, Ghost and I are… friends..”
… Yeah it was a little awkward after that
For a few days you two didn’t talk much
Until eventually Mitsuya pulled you aside after school and admitted he liked you <3
And that was the start of a very healthy relationship!
Mitsuya often tries to keep you out of anything related to Toman, but he won’t hide it from you
He believes that if this is going to work, he needs to be open about what he does
He’s so relieved when you say you don’t mind
He 100% makes the two of you something matching whilst incorporating your designs somewhere
He ends up making you a bracelet and himself a pendant
The main bead on your bracelet is the same as the charm on his pendant
One time the two of you were in the textiles club room after school alone (doing homework… obviously) and Takemichi walked in
He was shocked to say the least
Mitsuya made him promise not to tell anyone
..spoiler.. He caved and told Draken and Mikey when they threatened him about why he was acting strange
The next day it was Takemichi, Mikey and Draken who burst in
“Mitsuya! You didn’t tell us you have a partner! How come you didn’t tell me and ken?”
“Mitsuya you sly bastard, why’ve you been hiding them?”
“Takemitchy..”
Mitsuya sent Takemichi a very scary look..
Their jokes aside, Draken and Mikey understand why Mitsuya didn’t say, and they both promise to look out for you
Mitsuya breaths a little easier knowing they won’t tell
God only knows what he’d do if anything happened to you
I match Ghost with…
(Jujutsu Kaisen)
Inumaki!
This is going to incorporate my headcanon that Inumaki knows sign language, therefore anything in italics will symbolise what is being said in sign :)
You were a grade-2 sorcerer from a different school and happened to be spending time at jujutsu high school as part of a mission you were sent on
Inumaki was assigned as your buddy of sorts for the first few days to help you get around
.. no-one really knows why Inumaki was chosen considering his limited vocabulary
Regardless, luck happened to be on your side with sign language
“Sooo.. what grade are you?”
“Mayo”
“...What does that mean?”
‘Semi grade-1’
“Got it”
After the first week Inumaki just decided to stick around
The two of got into some really fun conversations in the time he was your buddy
Mostly shit-talking and discussing the mission you’re on
Which speaking of, he insists he helps you
His friends are quick to point out how protective he’s become with you
Which leads to them teasing him
Which leads to him one day pulling you aside after class
“...Tuna.. bonito flakes..”
“We’ve been over this, I don’t know what that means yet”
‘Ghost..’
“Yeah?”
“Tuna.”
“Inumaki what-”
“Oh for god's sake- HE LIKES YOU!”
Neither of you noticed Maki and Panda watching you
And thus started your relationship!
You know how he was asking to help on your mission earlier?
Yeah you don’t get a choice anymore, he’s helping
And he is hella protective
He’s also your number one fan in everything you do
You wrote something? He’s trying to convince you to publish it
Drew something? He’s calling up the galleries rn
You beat a game or did something cool? He’s bragging to everyone
You definitely converted his music taste
“Cod roe?”
“What’s up?”
‘Love you’
“Love you too”

I hope you enjoyed!

For OCs asks... Isn't it your OC on your icon? Can you tell us more about them?
Ah Lucen Venator ! My beloved hunter <3 (I called my tarnished Lucen too, I might used that name for everyone lol but it's not exactly the same character either hehe ^^)
Tumblr media
(drawing made by PaperAcolyte/Chess Albaneze on Instagram by the way. A really nice and sweet person who's making one of the best bloodborne comic to date!)
Alright so lil Lucen really try to be a kind soul but have seen some serious shit in his life (cf scars + last survivor origins initially but I arranged myself so that a lot of origin could actually fit him). What I mean is that he's more a summon helper than an invader XD I put a bit of myself in him. He's probably gonna ascend to become a great one but in the scenario where he would do the "Yharnam sunrise ending" he would ended becoming the next Crow.
He got black hair and silver? eyes. And actually more than just one scar on the face. Oh and I guess they/them is fine too? And If I had a female hunter I would probably have called her Lucen as well so
Tumblr media
He's like the only characters with a complex family tree including both OC and really obscure characters from the lore of Bloodborne too. (I finally have an excuse to talk about it let's go !) (of course it's just my imagination and doesn't repose on anything)
Ok so first you have his grandad (that I call Mr Venator or just Venator because I didn't found a name yet) he's a a foreigner who came to Yharnam as a prospector originally and then became an old hunter. (He probably never met his grandson too... probably died way before 😢)
He had a son (Lucen's dad) that accompanied him but he was a child/young teenager when they came at Yharnam. But he hang up around the workshop & with other hunter and that's how he met the brother of his future wife and well, his future wife.
Now Lucen's mother (that's where the family tree get tricky XD) so she's from Yharnam? I think. she's from a servant family of Cain or smt akin too. She was a kid too during the beginning of the hunters and all (like before the hamlet/just after).
BUT she had an older brother/half brother (Lucen's uncle) who's an illegitimate Cainhurst/noble child. Maria took him under her wings and he became an old hunter (probably the youngest too, he was a teen). That GUY stayed a hunter and kinda rejected cainhurst who wanted him to become a knight and he's even the one who took care of the workshop after Gehrman went into the dream. And oh yeah he ended up becoming the beast possessed soul of the workshop...💀 (the freaking drama I know! I need names for everyone too ahhhh)
AND (it's not finished) that hunter is also... vileblood drifter Leo half brother too! (I know I said it was complex) (Leo, who's probably a cousin/relative of Bloody Crow too. Crow's dad is another one of my oc too but that will be for another time lol).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Here's the family tree so you might understand better. With the simplified version and a more complex version (i'm sorry it's a mess... I might changed it one day...or not)
Anyway in my hc / one of my story all this lil squad : Lucen's parents (with his mom being like 8 months pregnant of him at the time...) his uncle and lil (emo teen young adult) Crow have been basically saved/hid by Gehrman when the church attacked Cainhurst. (I have lots of thoughts about it ! Lucen's uncle and Leo even reconcile in it wow)
Just imagining the following scene make me laugh all the time XD :
Laurence at the workshop : Gehrman what are you doing ??
Gehrman : Me ? Nothing I'm just having tea with some friends. Didn't you tell me you were busy with the mess at Cainhust or smt...
Imagined around the table you have like the doll, 2 anxious/scared future parents (with the dad being hurt because he was almost crucified at Hemwick), Crow (Voron) who's on the point of annihilated Laurence and the hunter (Lucen uncle) holding him back...
After that Lucen's family quit Yharnam. (Except his uncle who stayed/came back. And Crow who might have went with them? but ended up coming back a bit later too. I would never have thought crow would have been linked that much with my hunter... wtf)
Oh and i forgot to mention... when the Moon Presence was beckon... a child was born under the pale moonlight...far away from Yharnam... I let you guess who that was 👀
(I don't have that much bloodborne oc really... ok maybe besides them, the cainhurst ocs (the knight, crow? and a few others (I need names too) and if you don't count the king, Caryll, Dores, dores, gatekeeper, Archi & Paarl + some the corpses we see in game we know like 2 things about I guess the only other legit oc is like Gehrman's dog lmao XD)
Update : By the way it's pronounced LuSSen /LuÇen

It's Fictional Throwdown Friday!
This Week's Fighters...
SMT Thor vs Marvel Thor!
Conditions:
Marvel Thor has the Odinforce. SMT Thor is in his Demon Avatar form.
Scenario:
The God of Law, YHVH, dispatches His agent Thor to the Marvel Multiverse in an attempt to enslave it into worshipping Him. Marvel Thor refuses to stand for this and confronts his counterpart.
Analysis: Thor
Cognition. Observation. Human perception. Religion. These are the things that shape our subjective reality. According to several psychological and philophical schools of thought, this personal unconscious is shared amongst the entire human species as a sort of collective unconsciousness, manifesting as society, culture, and religion. The Megami Tensei franchise as a whole takes this basic idea and runs with it a bit further. All of reality, down to even the smallest of subatomic particles, is created and held together by human observation, understanding, and belief. Everything can be reduced down to human thought made manifest, from the natural phenomena that plague our world, to the gods and monsters we created to explain them.
These Gods are better known throughout the franchise as Demons. And that's the original definition of the term, not the satanic modern definition some might assume. "Daimon" here being a catch all term for all supernatural entites, holy or otherwise. These Demons typically fall somewhere on the spectrum of Law vs Chaos, just like the political ideologies, human histories, and societal customs they represent do, constantly fighting a forever war with each other to determine which ideology should forever rule mankind, completely reshaping reality in the process.
On the side of Law, under the tyrannical command of God Himself, we have Thor Odinson, the most powerful of the Norse mythological gods. YHVH, as God is most often known as here, has less to do with any specific religious interpretation of His word and will and more to do with an absolute understanding and definition of Law as a concept. The fact that He is like this is not a sign that there is anything wrong with believing in Him religiously, but moreso a sign that something is fundamentally wrong with reality, likely stemming from the collective unconsciousness. God and all that serve Him under Law seem to represent benign ideologies and religions having been corrupted by the all consuming cancer of facism. And Thor is almost certainly one of the premier examples of that, with his representation here eerily mirroring the corruption of his iconography by both Nazis and Christians in reality.
Taking the guise of "Thorman" (sterling creativity on display, I know), Thor would use his human guise to wipe out Tokyo with a cluster of ICBMs within the first game, leading to the dystopia under God in the second, kickstarting the entire ongoing plot of the mainline games. Seeing as YHVH trusted Thor with carrying out a genocide, you'd be correct in assuming that he's one of God's most powerful and loyal enforces.
Thor's true form exists as an "Archetype" within the unconscious world, the Collective Unconsciousness that spreads above and across the entire SMT multiverse, from Persona to Digital Devil Saga. It interacts with the various universes within as a Demon, summoned into exist in a variety of ways, from appearing as a part of one's "social masks" in the psyche as in Persona, to appearing as pure digital data as in Digital Devil Saga. He can even appear as a "Shadow" in one's psyche in the Jungian sense of being a part of your own subconscious.
As a being this abstract, most physical limitations are completely meaningless to him. He's completely invisible to humans who don't "understand" what they're looking at, is completely immune to the traditional laws of space and time, and is completely unaffected by pesky things such as "causality" or "death". Other Law Demons comparable to Thor have been straight up killed before... and then just said "No" and kept fighting anyways. While already dead.
Thor can create pocket realities outside of standard Space-Time, can create "Decoherence Fields" that warp space on the Quantum Level to create alternate dimensions, and can not only forcibly teleport people to other universes, but also nullify the ability to enter or leave a universe. Because he's a Demon and this is something that all Demons in the franchise, on multiple occasions have proven the can do, from Shadows creating Palaces and the Dark Hour in Persona, to Demons creating universe sized Domains in SMT IV to warp the laws of Space-Time, making them somehow bigger than the area they actually physically inhabit.
Demons operate on alien laws of physics and, as such, cannot be harmed by normal weapons and cannot be permanently killed even by other Demons. So long as the Collective Unconsciousness exists, they can always eventually come back from human perceptions. Thor takes this one step beyond. Not only is his Demon form just an aspect of his Archetype, but that Archetype is just a single component of God Himself, so ether Archetype Thor or God can just will him back to life if he's ever permanently slain. Demons and Personas frequently have to resort to sealing them away when dealing with peers on the level of Thor. And that's assuming he doesn't just mind control you to completely rewrite your moral code or completely alter your body.
The only reason Thor has any limits at all is because we as humans project limitations onto him. Thor is a being of human understanding, altered by the philosophies of humans as they constantly change over time. This is why, say, in Persona 5, Joker and Co can hurt Shadows with toy guns. Joker perceives that the gun should hurt then, the Demons believe that the guns should hurt them, and the general understanding of humanity is that guns hurt. Ergo, toy guns hurt. But even then, you have to have an incredible willpower and a rock solod personal philosophy for that to effect a being such as Thor, due to the level he exists on.
Assiah, the physical world, is an infinite multiverse with infinite timelines and universes within it, making it a 4-D structure. This means that the two worlds above it, Yetzirah and Beriah, would be 5-D and 6-D respectively. This is where Thor resides and numerous beings on par with Thor have been shown to be capable of effecting these realms in their entirety. The Four Heavenly Kings were powerful enough to create a barrier between these realms and the human one, while The White we capable of absorbing this realm in its entirety into their domain. Simply moving within these Realms allows to exist above time and space: past, present, and future, in the realms below it, allowing to time travel just by traversing it. Simply existing on that level puts Thor well above your average Demon.
As a Demon on this scale, Thor has some powers that the average Demons don't, such as the ability to completely transmute ordinary humans into Demons themselves, as well as into flies or pigs. He can even create illusions so advanced, that your memories are altered to better match up to what you're seeing. But the most devastating thing in Thor's Arsenal would have to be his Allmighty attacks.
Allmighty attacks completely ignore every form of resistance or defense an opponent may have against an attack to do as much damage as possible. It doesn't matter if you're completely immune to lightning, it's going to hurt you anyways. It doesn't matter if you have a shield up, it's going to hit regardless. Allmighty attacks are devastating blows specifically designed to completely side step any resistances you might have against Thor's powerful thunder magic and powers.
Despite all of this literally divine power, Thor does have some weaknesses. For one, his nature can be changed through the power of human observation and societal change by virtue of what he is. As an embodiment of an ideology, he is single-mindedly devoted to whatever he currently represents within the collective unconsciousness, which as frequently allowed Demon Summoners, God Slayers, and Persona Users to turn him to their side by playing off this one track mind. And, if you couldn't tell by the "Thorman" idea, we aren't exactly working with a brilliant iq here. He's a brilliant fighter, having been fighting the forever war since before time began, but knowledge outside of that tends to escape his expertise.
Still, Thor is one of the most nightmarish servants of Law to ever earn God's grace. A zealot and a warrior to the bitter end, Thor will stop at nothing, not even genocide, to see His will be done.
Analysis: Thor
Thor Odinson. Thunder God. Warrior. Prince. Hero. And one day a king. Above all of those, however, Thor is an Avenger.
Thor Odinson was the headstrong son of, well, Odin. He was a proud warrior prince who proved for many millennia that he was just as much a warrior as his father. Sadly, he was not as ready to be king as his father hoped, so Odin banished Thor to Earth where he could learn to be more than a warrior.
On Earth, Thor would meet and team up with many great mortal heroes, eventually joining them to become a founding member of the Avengers. With his newfound friends, Thor would battle against many a mighty foe and protect mankind from certain extermination with all the power he had. And trust me, he has a lot.
Thor has all the powers you might expect him to have from Mjolnir and then some. Yes, he can freely fly, shoot lightning, and create storms just by swinging that little thing around, but he can also do some flat out ridiculous things with it. He can transmute matter on the atomic level, turn completely invisible, become intangible at will, and even seal his foes away inside of glass spheres. This is because Thor's hammer is not merely an enchanted weapon, but it is instead a prison for The God Tempest, a sentient cosmic storm that rampaged across the universe until Odin sealed it away inside the block of Uru that would later be forged into his son's hammer. Of course, a hammer that powerful can't be welded by just anyone, so it's enchanted so that only the worthy can lift it.
Fittingly, Thor can also use his hammer to seal things away, mainly by using to absorb energy attacks and even suck the energy straight out of people. One time, he even used two Mjolnirs to absorb the God Bomb, which would've killed every deity in existence across time and space. Needless to say, he takes after his dad in that sense. But that's only the tip of the iceberg.
See, Thor is the God of Thunder in almost every sense of the word. In that, he will always come back no matter what you try to do to him. Thor has no sold being aged to death, having his soul devoured, and even being torn apart by his individual atoms. And, even if you do managed to kill him, that's no guarantee he'll stay dead. One time, he was erased so throughly from existence that everyone completely forgot about his existence. That is, until the Silver Surfer found his hammer. This faint glimmer of Deja Vu immediately caused Thor to come right back to life good as new. As long as anyone, anywhere, faintly remembers Thor even slightly, he will always return. Though even his unkillability pales in comparison to the sheer raw power he wields.
Thor can consistently fly across the entire Marvel universe, which has consistently been stated to be infinite in size, in a finite amount of time, as well as shake the entire universe just by throwing his hammer. These are feats that would by themselves require infinite power and speed to achieve, but there's still more. Thor is constantly depicted as on par with the Hulk, who can destroy an entire universe with just a clap of his hands, Hyperion, who can tank being sandwiched between two universes completely unharmed, and even Marvel's Hercules, who can match Atlas's feat of lifting up the sky. Thor's most impressive showing, however, is when he overpowered the World Engine, which was controlling all of Nine Realms within the World Tree, showing he's superior to a force that can effect nine universes simultaneously. And as for speed, well, he once flew around the planet so fast that he traveled back in time. That's not just infinite speed, that's moving so fast you arrive at your destination before you even left.
And that's just base Thor. With Warrior's Madness, Thor becomes 10x more powerful in exchange for completely losing all control and flying into a berserker rage. This is an unpardonable sin in Asgardian society and for good reason, a Thor who can't tell the difference between friend or foe is a Thor who could end the world at a moment's notice. Case in point, the Godblast.
The Godblast is easily Thor's most powerful attack, capable of potentially killing Galactus.
G A L A C T U S
As in, the devourer of worlds so powerful that he threatens the existence of the infinite Marvel Multiverse just by fighting. There are gods and then there's Galactus. This is vastly more powerful than anything else Thor has in his arsenal by miles.
Or, at least it was. Until he began to prove to be worthy of his father's respect and throne. Without the power of the Odinforce, Thor is simply a warrior. With it, he becomes a king.
Now that he has access to all of Odin's power, Thor no longer needs the Godblast to slay Galactus. He is every bit Galactus's equal, as Odin is able to not only fight him, but telepathically stalemate him. Galactus is a being so complex and so vast that he has no true physical form, simply appearing as whatever form his victims project onto him. Yet, Odin is capable of completely matching his mind and fighting him as an equal.
Thor didn't just gain Odin's sheer raw power, he gained all of Odin's individual powers as well. For as divine as Thor was before, with his father's life force flowing through his veins, his powers became flat out reality breaking.
Thor can see invisible people, restructure the moon on an atomic level, can manipulate all electromagnetic particles in the multiverse to manipulate all gravity in the universe and keeps the Earth rotating around the sun just by existing. Thor should even have access to some of Odin's powers that he's never used before, such as the ability to turn Gods like himself and Loki into ordinary humans or the ability to seal away a being as powerful as the God Tempest into the block of Uru that would become Mjolnir in the first place.
Odin has even shown the ability to warp abstract concepts themselves, which Thor is this state should scale to. During a battle with Dormammu, Odin's sheer raw power in battle was enough to throw the balance between Lord Chaos and Master Order themselves completely out of wack, affecting the sentient conceptual embodiements of Law and Chaos within the Marvel Multiverse and altering the laws of reality completely. If their battle hadn't been a draw, Odin states that reality itself would've been fundamentally altered. Which isn't that hard to believe when the Avatars of the Marvel Universe abstracts have been stated to exist up to the Sixth Dimension.
Over millennia of battle and decades of heroism and strife, Thor would eventually prove himself to be more than just the warrior he'd lived as for so long. He became more than Earth's Mightiest Hero. He became Asgard's greatest king.

Throwdown Breakdown:
This fight is.... very, very close.
The stats are basically completely even. Both of them are 6-D abd both of them transcend time to the point of moving faster than it, so there's no considerable edge to either party there. Similarly, both of them should be capable of interacting with each other, as both can see invisible people and harm abstract entities. In fact, it's even arguable that Marvel Asgardian's are abstract entites, as Thor's belief based immortality and some of Loki's dialogue does imply that they are more belief based in nature. Regardless, Odin's feat of accidentally effecting Order and Chaos does definitely prove that Marvel Thor should be able to harm SMT Thor.
That said, these two also can't kill each other. So long as people still believe in or even have a concept of Thor, they'll both just come back and neither can completely erase humanity across both the Marvel and SMT multiverses in order to bypass it (nor would they necessarily in character). However, both of them can bypass this through incapacitation. Both characters can seal the other away, for example, and both likely would in character. Basically all Demons are abstract to a degree in SMThor's world, so he'd be going for incapacitating options out the bat just assuming Marvel Thor's the same, while Marvel Thor with the Odinforce acts less like the restrained warrior he usually is and more like a decisive king ready to do whatever it takes to protect his people, so trying to just erase or seal each other away is believable for both. Both even share win conditions, such as being able to seal the other away or transmute them into a fly.
Just when you think this bus is heading straight for stalemate country though, there is something that makes this Marvel Thor's game.
SMT Thor is a lot more restrained by being a comcept and a God. This is best demonstrated by the time that both spent among humanity. Thorman never developed any human connections. He never developed any human relationships or did anything outside of what the Thorman guise needed him to in order to serve his master. Because that's what the concept of Thor is in the minds of humanity, which therefore makes it is nature, unchanging until human perception changes. Meanwhile, Thor's time as Doctor Donald Blake shows that he's entirely capable of being human. Marvel Thor may be a God, but he has the full emotional complexity of a human being, with no inherent nature to be yanked around by.
SMThor has been manipulated into joining his enemy on several occasions by appealing to his Law bound nature, to the point of even being turned against his Master or joining people who are completely antithetical to his Lawful nature (such as Joker in Persona 5, who is very much not Law aligned). He's enslaved to humanity's perception of him, even when it works against him. And what's the common perception of Thor?
A mighty warrior proudly meeting his foe head on in battle. Even in SMT this is true. For what little personality this Thor has, he's shown to be a warrior first, preferring to batter his enemies into submission, crush them before he defeats them properly. There's a fine difference between knowing you can only win with a certain method and immediately opening with it.
SMT Thor will approach this battle as another foe to crush in the name of his master. Another heathen against Law to proudly break, as well as a worthy foe to test his own metal against. Marvel Thor will approach this battle as another villain threatening his home. Another threat to the human race he holds so dear that he must eliminate as efficiently as possible. It his duty as King to protect Asgard and Earth from this menace, by any means necessary.
It's worth noting on top of that that SMThor has a sense of Fairplay that his opponent lacks. Such as when he gave the Demi-Fiend a moment to prepare himself for battle out of respect for his skills. Were this Base Marvel Thor, this would surely be reciprocated and the two would meet in direct honorable combat with no fancy tricks. But, with the Odinforce, Thor behaves very differently. Marvel Thor in that situation would thank his opponent for the respect before turning him into a fly for daring to threaten his home. In that sense, SMThor is a dark reflection of Marvel Thor prior to his own character development.
Both these warriors may be Gods, but above that, Marvel Thor is an Avenger first and foremost.

Tbh its a mix of low creativity/motivation and semi-dead fandom of my favs :familyguydeathpose:
I was mostly thinking abt the digimon survive group {spesificly Ryo bc he's always scared in the point of game im at atm, and characters being spooked/scared after shrinking is 👌👌👌👌👌} when i sent that tho-
I feel that... I mean gt for SMT is non existent whatever exists is literally purely because of me from either commissions or talk and my own art. And I am a very picky person when it comes how I like my gt... so sometimes I see art of my favs when theyre giants which... isnt bad, but its just not my taste because in my head I have specific roles certain characters fulfill and a lot of the time my favs the ones I connect with personally are the ones tiny [mostly shrunken scenarios] because welll.... I see myself as tiny.
and I love playing with fear and frustration and miscommunication in my gt soooo much its what I loooooooooooooove
also another thing that hurts equally as dead fandoms is like fandoms that technically exist because the thing is a big franchise but you also see like NO ONE whos like... interacting in a fandom structure? aka, cowboy bebop, which also has non existent GT... the things I'd give for some tiny Spike Spiegel stuff that wasn't made by me. Im in a bad muse art block rn so I can't...consistently provide, plus when I do draw it tends to be working on my original stuff and less GT or fandom focused.

People were being hard on SMT4 for harkening back to SMT 1? That makes sense, but both are WAY different enough when similar notes are hit I just smile.
For instance, Jonathan’s and Walter’s names in Japanese are actually “ヨナタン/Yonatan” and “ワルタ/Waruta.” That “Yo” and “Waru” are important because they are puns based on the words “良い/Yoi” (good) and “悪い/Warui” (bad.)
Add on the fact that SMT 1’s Law and Chaos hero can be known as Yoshio (Good man) and Waruo (Bad man) alongside infernal Akira’s nicknames of “Goody two shoes” and “Bad boy” I wouldn’t want those two named anything else. It’s perfect!
Right you are! Jonathan's and Walter's JP names are very much throwbacks to the Law and Chaos Heroes as they were named in illustration documents! Actually I think this can also be applied to Flynn too, as the protagonist in SMT1 was given the name Futsuo.
Having played the games "backwards" (going from IV to I to II), I noticed a lot of parallels that IV harkens back to! Maybe it's something that I can write more about in-depth another time. I can see why people wouldn't be happy with all the throwbacks to the older games as it may come off as unoriginal or uninspired, but the way I see it, was that IV was meant to be re-imagined homage to its roots and especially with it being the 25th anniversary game. Plus, Kazuma Kaneko himself is credited as having made the game's scenario drafts, so my guess is that he wanted to (at least partially) revisit what he had already worked on.
I respect SMTI and II for what they did and I think there are a lot of strengths in their original narratives. I also think that it was good that IV revisited some of those same concepts and strengthen them while, at the same time, still took liberties in its story.

Do you think that last games in the series (especially 4 and 5) rely too much on old plot points, themes and even characters? I noticed that Demeter is basically a retelling of her role in SJR. A lot of the new demons are meant to be the counterpart of already existing designs according to some interviews (Pixie-Amanozako, Hayataro-Cerberus, Fionn-Cu Chulainn). Do you think the new team will be able to take the series in a new direction while maintaining what made Smt unique?
It's hard to argue with this.
SMT4's sheer amount of idea recycling is well known. While there's nothing wrong with a few references to older stuff here and there, SMT4 went overboard to the point where more than a few major plot points are comprised of them. Using a matchbook to get into the "secret hideout" of the human resistance like in SMT1? Cute. Redoing the Law v. Chaos dichotomy of SMT1's first act, only not as effectively? Not quite as cute.
The original drafts seemingly did not follow the SMT1 formula so closely, though there's still some resemblance. A parallel could probably be made between SMT4's drafts & final scenario and George Lucas' Episode VII concepts & The Force Awakens, where the final product stuck to a less risky, more familiar formula.

Demeter's questline being a repeat of SJR's did kinda make me chuckle, though. @poltergeist0002 noticed the SMT5 demon parallels almost immediately using an image that was and is still on the game's Japanese site:

And honestly, you could probably also add Nuwa being Lilith-like.
I think SMT5 was the team's chance to truly make something of their own, since there was no input from the "old guard." They still chose to make a poor man's Nocturne (that's still fun to run around in for about 10 hours since it offers a new perspective on the old). So I really don't think the future of SMT will be particularly creative.
SMT may very possibly have two modes going forward: the more grounded Law vs. Chaos scenario (SMT1-like; seen in SMT4) or a more abstract one (SMT3; seen in SMT5). There is untapped potential in aping SMT2 and its varied futuristic and occult settings but would require a careful hand to connect it all even half as well, one I think Atlus currently lacks.
The fatal problem is again that SMT is only seeking inspiration from ITSELF instead of something beyond that would shake up the formula and create something truly new and fresh for the series. This is a problem with many franchises these days that are nothing but corporate products that need to be churned out for profit, thus they are afraid to take risks that would potentially alienate their fanbases. Atlus took creative risks with Nocturne and SJ (they were new, original scenarios) and was left unrewarded in sales. The future of SMT will be recycled*!
*and will perpetuate current conflicts between older SMT fans who understand the recycled content and sense the staleness and new SMT fans who don't and therefore don't see the big deal.
