2. In the name of bullying Yun Taeheon, I need his reaction to Mun Doyun- aka the B rank assassin that was Shin Junseo’s guild leader. Cuz objectively, Yun Taeheon knows a lot can happen in a year and stuff, but also he’s an S-rank leader of a top guild that is willing to give Shin Junseo just about anything and he still cannot recruit him. And then there’s this B-rank nobody (to him) who specifically hired Shin Junseo - as a D rank weapon creator who could only make an average knife every 20 seconds - BC HE HAD A SKILL THAST DESTROYED THE BLADES HE USED. Literally the same reason!! But no, somehow Yun Taeheon is losing this race.

Even better if he somehow gets more backstory or through some time shenanigans he meets the other Mun Doyun, who is basically the reason Shin Junseo is even as good as he is. Like, the reason sjs learned all he could and stuff. Anyway, yth being objectively, obviously on a higher level than this dude and yet still absolutely seething at the very idea of how much he apparently is not measuring up. How do you think that should go?

also, looking at the firsts chapter and think the first chapter and I think Sjs could be the little kid at the very beginning? Meaning that he has grown up in he world of hunters and gates, giving some cool world building to how this is a whole generation of ppl growing up with gates and magic.

However, for the sake of getting more of your sugar daddy au, I am ignoring that. Or maybe it could be incorporated, like- yth was trying to figure out how to ask sjs for just, an actual relationship. And sjs had stopped their contract after signing onto the guild. Extra tension!! Cuz obviously yth wasn’t gonna reach out and be like, “Hey, so that didn’t work out…”

Huh! Now that you mention it, that could track! Would be rather interesting too as I'd put this kid somehwere between 8 and 12, which implies dungeons have been a thing for much longer than just a couple of years. Tho I assumed the adult in the next panel was YTH, so hmmm. But also what does this say about the state of his family. where the fuck are they. I need answers. And also I'd love some worldbuilding around growing up in such a world. In SCTIR, one of my fave things is to linger on like, the first weeks after the dungeon breaks. how did legislation change, the government, the way people reacto to this-

and the way SJS also thinks of this guild in the future memories he receives? a place where he was accepted, found friends, where they kept pushing forward together- Listen. also the way it lingers on MDY's body there. I'm just saying, the vibes are accurate. to me.

Anyway, YTH does have the vibes of somebody who is incredibly understanding but privately also has beef with a dead man. he knows it's unfair and stupid, but also he could buy SJS a god damn pent house apartment. he would. that and any item he wants. actually I just realized while typing this would've been really fucking great to insert into my little soulmate fanfic given I did toss in like one sided bonds existing there. something to consider for the future.

But man, I think it would be interesting if SJS is confronted with him again also in the context of like, SJS not recognizing MDY's brother despite his future memories, which sure has some implication. I told a friend that like my assumption is that Mun Dojin died in the other timeline and I desperately need him and SJS to talk because even if the memories SJS has never actually existed here, that still sort of makes him the only person MDJ can talk to.

SJS manages to bag one man and it's this big shot guild leader. and instead of signing up with his guild, he goes to these small nobodies. like, it probably just makes sense to SJS. This was a job, now here is another, newer job. Life goes on.

YTH meanwhile is the math meme. Min Huisu told him to get a social life. he paid someone for that, but the guy turns out to be actually cute and fun, so he'd like to have a relationship that is not just superifical. and this guy just. mcfucking signs on to a guild he hasn't even heard of. f in the fucking chat

ESTJ Hate: A Rant From an ESTJ’s Perspective

TLDR: ESTJs are not jerks, narcissists, or arrogant assholes. ANY type can be like that, so knock it off and stop bullying them.

As the title says, this blog/ article is going to be a rant about the type community and their attitude toward ESTJs.

And this hate can be applied to other types, like my fellow ESFJs and any sensor in the community.

But today we’ll focus on the most hated MBTI type: ESTJs (aka my type).

I sincerely hope that you’ll read this article with an open mind and please try to understand where I’m coming from despite the… heated tone this article has. 😅

I get it if you think I’m mistyped, but I’m not gonna prove my type to you. Take it or leave it. (It's not this article's point anyway).

If I’m wrong about my type, then so be it.

But I hope that this article will take the heat off of ESTJs, because whether I’m one or not – they don’t deserve the hate and bullying. (Nobody does).

So if you hate ESTJs so much that you’re just going to barrage me with hate comments, or if you’re not open to learning more about them, then feel free to skip this article (and this whole blog).

But if you *are* open, then proceed unto the forbidden scrolls of wisdom. 📜 *magical gate opening noises*

Why do people hate ESTJs so much?

If you’ve been into MBTI for any amount of time, you know that everyone hates ESTJs. Like… a lot.

(Fun fact: We’re the #1 most hated type in the community 🥳🙌)

And it’s not hard to see why.

Because, according to the infallable internet, we ESTJs are:

Tradition-oriented/ anti-progression

Bullies, jackasses, and know-it-alls who refuse to admit we’re wrong

anti-INFP (according to a YouTube video thumbnail lmao)

Control freaks and micromanagers

Extremely insecure and obsessed with social status

Unrealistic perfectionists whose lives revolve around work, recognition, and climbing up the ladder

Narcissists and insecure as hell

The enemy and ultimate roadblock to change

Stuck in our ways

Mean, cruel, heartless, hot-tempered

Smacking everyone on the head with a rulebook

Anti-individuality

Obsessed with getting recognition

Stepping on everyone’s toes to get their way no matter what

Stubborn for no reason

Always angry, pissed, and yelling at everyone for no reason

Desperate to be in charge, power-hungry assholes who shouldn’t be in charge

Terrible with people and hated by everyone who has to work with us

Bossy control freaks

The list goes on and on, and so does the endless hate.

*sighs and slides down wall*

If I had a penny for every time someone changed their mind about me as a person after doing a type reveal, I’d be set for the rest of my miserable life. *faint kazoo goes off in the background*

Then again, I can see why people would hate us with these extreme descriptions… even though it’s stupid.

ESTJs have a double whammy in MBTI: We’re both Te users, and SJs.

Let’s face it: Most people wanna be a Ti user, or at least that’s what I’ve seen.

Apparently, Ti means you have a brain and can think for yourself, while Te... is just bossy or domineering.

But, of course, ENTJs and INTJs don’t get any hate because they have Ni, which is supposedly future-oriented and not stuck in tradition. *cough cough, Si can be like this too*

SJs, who have high Si, are stereotyped as… well… traditional.

Si is described as *super* boring at best, and sounds like they don’t have anything interesting going on in their lives.

Apparently, if you’re an SJ, you’re alllll about upholding traditions and that’s it.

Not only do we not change the world, we keep change from happening.

We’re stabilizers, and incapable of having fun, or having deep conversations with people cuz we’re not intuitives.

That’s a giant pile of stereotype-infused crap, by the way. ^

Si is NOT about tradition.

TLDR: ESTJs can be nice, empathetic, open-minded people. We are NOT pissed off Karens who wanna dictate your life.

ANY type can be a control freak, angry, pissed off, controlling, etc.

If you’re typing someone as an ESTJ because of stereotypes and that list of ESTJ traits the internet came up with, you’re typing people wrong.

Stereotypes are fun for a while, but they get old quick – like your favorite food. Or memes.

Instead, if you wanna learn more about MBTI and typology, you need to learn the cognitive functions and learn the nuances.

(Spoiler alert: There are *lots* of them. This isn’t 16 personalities or dichotomies).

Stereotypes are great for starting out and building a foundation.

But you need to go further if you wanna understand type and people (or yourself, if you’re as self-absorbed as I am).

And honestly? It’s way more interesting that way. :P

Either way, you’ll learn something new and you won’t regret it. :)

So while we’re here, let’s talk about some ESTJ stereotypes and bust them.

Feel free to grab some Ruffles while you’re at it, cuz this is gonna be a long one.

Why are ESTJs so mean?

We’re not. Or at least not on purpose.

Everyone has a different idea of what being nice and being mean are. But if we’re talking extremes, I’m gonna assume you’re imagining us screaming our heads off and making you cry at work.

In that case, that’s not an ESTJ. Anyone can be mean, including feelers. Anyone can lose their temper and lash out.

That’s something outside of type.

If you wanna figure out someone’s MBTI type, you need to find out *why* they’re doing what they’re doing. I cannot stress enough that MBTI is about the WHY and HOW, **NOT** the “what.”

Are they frustrated because they were thwarted and missed a deadline?

Were they having an off day? (Happens to everyone)

Are they healthy or unhealthy?

Are they secure or insecure? What are they insecure or worried about, WHY, and HOW are they dealing with it?

How do they see themselves? What’s their biggest problem and why?

Etc. Etc. Etc.

You need to ask yourself (and them, if you can) questions like those ^ if you wanna type someone so you can get a well-rounded view of them.

In other words: If you wanna get better at finding people’s MBTI type or your own, you need a well-rounded view of them.

And even then, you may not get it right even if you’ve spent a long time observing this person or talking to them. Frustrating, I know.

Typing people is hard because people are complicated and nuanced. I’ll probably write an article about typing people and all that jazz later on.

Anyway, this is turning into a ramble.

The point is: Being a jerk does NOT make someone an ESTJ. And being nice doesn’t mean they can’t be one.

Being a narcissistic, controlling, arrogant know-it-all doesn’t make anyone an xSTJ. Period.

2. Why are ESTJs hated?

Simple: Stereotypes. ESTJs are often described in the worst light humanly possible while other types get a pass or praise for doing the same things we do. *end credits start rolling*

All jokes aside, most people don’t understand what high Te and high Si look like in real life.

They just assume that Te doms are bossy workaholics who love making people cry, and that SJs are stuck in their ways and refuse to change. (This is incorrect).

Combine the two, and you get STJs: the types no one wants to be. (Spoiler alert: NTJs and STJs are FAR more similar than you think).

Sure, every stereotype may have some truth to it, but ESTJs get FAR more hate than any type I’ve seen.

Spend a day on type databases, discord groups, etc. and you’ll know exactly what I mean.

“ESTJs are bossy, mean, controlling, traditional, and stuck in the past. They have no lives or meaning outside of work as a manager, and they hate INFPs. They’re efficient, but that’s the only good thing about them.”

*rolls eyes* ^ This is just… *sighs*

It’s genuinely ridiculous how much hate an ESTJ gets compared to their glorified intuitive counterpart.

One letter makes a world of a difference. (People do be simping for ENTJs 😩💦). And no, I'm not jealous.

Don’t get me wrong – There are plenty of solid blogs about us out there.

Unfortunately, most people don’t find them or read them, since first impressions mean *a lot.*

Like the list way up there said, ESTJs are described in the worst light possible.

We have way more cons than pros, and the pros we *do* have make us look like workaholics, or at the very best, as managers with no lives or hobbies outside of work. -_-

Don’t get me wrong – we can absolutely become workaholics. I, myself, find most of my fulfillment in work. (Yeah, I’m not helping my case, am I? 😐)

But guess what? ANYONE can become a workaholic. ANYONE can be mean. ANYONE can be a nightmare boss or co-worker to work with.

Instead of assuming that every mean person is an ESTJ, try to figure out WHY they’re that way… or if they even think they’re that way.

Thinkers tend to be direct… assuming they’re not struggling with trauma, low self-esteem, etc. (Which any type can, including ESTJs).

No, I'm not excusing asshole behavior. I'm trying to say that thinkers generally don't see their direct nature as a problem.

But chances are, if you were honest about how they were, they'll stop. Or at least the healthy ones will adapt.

I’d offer another list of scenarios, but that’ll turn into a ramble. And I think you get the idea. 🙃

Side tangent aside, believe it or not: We have lives outside of work, and not every single one of us are career-oriented people or workaholics. :wow:

Lazy ESTJs exist. But chances are, they’re probably mistyped as a different type, since Te doms aren’t described in a realistic light.

And even when they are, they’re pigeon-holed as workaholics. (Which is stereotypical thinking at best).

And even if we were: There’s nothing wrong with that. If you like work, regardless of your MBTI type, go work.

Don’t let anyone bully or pressure you into doing or not doing something.

3. Why are ESTJs so judgmental?

Because we’re human. *flips hair*

Everyone judges everything regardless of their type, whether you like it or not.

I guess the question here is: Why are we so loud and obnoxiously vocal about it? Well, we may not be.

Being vocal about something means you need to be confident in it. That confidence may be true confidence, or just arrogance to mask insecurity.

And believe it or not – ESTJs can go either way.

In other words, this is NOT a type thing! Everyone judges everything, since we all have two judging functions.

And even then, despite being Te doms, we may not choose to share or vocalize our opinions on things if we struggle with low self-esteem, self-doubt, or anxiety.

We can often shut down and choose a passive or cooperative way of doing things.

It just depends on our mood, how confident we're feeling, etc. Te can be used in a supportive way.

It’s almost like we’re humans, and not a stereotype that can only default to one reaction towards insecurity...

Finally, we’re “judgmental” because the internet just wants to paint us in a bad light whenever possible and lift INFPs up. And it pisses me off. (No, I don't hate INFPs).

When an INFP chooses to stand up for what they believe in, they’re praised and glorified as an underdog who’s trying to change the world.

But when an ESTJ does the same or similar thing, they’re shat on for being stubborn, arrogant, angry, and narrow-minded know-it-alls who can’t stand change.

Do you see the HYPOCRISY there?

And no – I don’t hate INFPs. In fact, I have INFP friends I like spending time with. (Yeah. Believe it or not, ESTJs and INFPs **can** get along. It’s about MATURITY, common interests, etc. NOT TYPE).

Why are ESTJs obsessed with social status, looking good, and protecting their reputation?

Because we’re human, and that’s what EVERYONE does to an extent.

I don’t care what your type is. Everyone cares about how they’re seen to some extent.

Sure, you got some apathetic people who have given up on life and decided to F it, but everyone has insecurities and everyone either cares or used to care.

Welcome to being human.

As for being obsessed with social status and image, this could happen for a variety of reasons, but the biggest one is that they're insecure. (Duh).

The important thing to consider here is WHAT they’re insecure about and WHY they’re insecure.

Sure, a Te dom can be obsessed with status and image, but guess what? So can FPs and Ti/Fe users.

However, I will acknowledge that this particular insecurity with how you’re seen and status tends to point to an imbalance between your introverted judging (Ji) and extraverted judging (Je) function.

In other words, you’re more likely to be an EJ or IP if you struggled with this your whole life.

Again, the key words here are “more likely.” Any type can be insecure and image-focused.

Nutshell: An insecure ESTJ can become obsessed with how other people see them, but insecurity and obsessing over how people see you is NOT an ESTJ thing. Any type can do this.

Are ESTJs narcissists?

No. They can be, but being a narcissist isn’t the same as being an ESTJ.

ANY type can be stubborn, gaslight, refuse to change their mind, and display narcissistic behaviors.

Any type can:

Be arrogant

Gaslight

think they’re always right

Manipulate people

beobsessed with their image

Be cruel, humiliate people, become abusive

Be a pain to be around/ toxic

Etc.

ANY. TYPE.

And no – narcissism is not more common in ESTJs. Every type has an equal shot of becoming this way.

If you’re using the ESTJ label, or any MBTI type to justify or explain your or someone else’s toxic behavior, then you need to look somewhere else because being a toxic and difficult person has NOTHING to do with your actual type.

HOW and WHY you do what you do can point to your type. Not the behavior itself.

So slapping a label onto someone who’s like that and calling them an ESTJ is lazy vibe typing at the very best.

So what should you do in that situation? I don’t know. (Yeah, real helpful, I know).

But calling them an ESTJ and shitting on them isn’t going to help you *or* them.

People get stressed out, lash out, and snap. It’s part of being human.

But if they’re a narcissist, and you want advice on how to deal with narcissists, you’ll have to look somewhere else.

Why are ESTJs so bossy?

It depends on how you define ‘bossy.’

Like I mentioned earlier, every neutral trait an ESTJ may have immediately gets put in the worst possible light, and it’s stupid. (Yeah, I’m a little worked up and frustrated at this).

Sure, narcissistic, know-it-all ESTJs exist, but guess what?

ANY TYPE can be narcissistic, arrogant, and a know-it-all who refuses to consider alternative options.

Here’s a possible answer though: Te users tend to sound FAR more set in stone than we actually are.

Therefore, we can *sound* bossy even though we don't mean to.

Chances are, we’re open to feedback and we WILL change our minds if you give us a good reason.

Tertiary Ne *does* make us more open to sudden changes than our IJ counterparts. 🙃

Hell, we’ll gladly put you in charge if we think you know what you’re doing.

(Which is honestly not that hard. I’ve changed my mind about a lot of things, and I like using my Te to SUPPORT people and systems, not necessarily lead).

Why are ESTJs so insensitive and disrespectful?

We’re not. Or at least we don’t mean to be.

Again, it depends on what you consider insensitive, disrespectful, mean, etc.

Cuz here’s the thing: Most ESTJs don’t see themselves that way because they think they’re just saying it as it is.

Unless they had a traumatic past, struggle with low self-esteem, or something that made them soften their Te (which is pretty common) – they’re probably just being direct.

But I can promise you this: A HEALTHY ESTJ WILL change when you give them feedback.

Unhealthy ones may get stuck up, but being stubborn, arrogant, or defiant against feedback are NOT signs you or the person you can’t stand is an ESTJ.

ESTJs have inferior Fi, which can make them incredibly empathetic if they’ve experienced what you did.

People don’t often realize it, but inferior Fi (assuming we haven’t suppressed it) influences us WAY more than most people realize. (And it’s not surprising, since we never talk about it lol).

An ESTJ with decently developed Fi, or someone who was raised to be empathetic, sympathetic, nice, etc. will NOT look like the description. (That’s a good thing, by the way).

I suspect that many conflict-avoidant or even people-pleasing ESTJs get mistyped as other types because of this, including me.

I mistyped as every type except ESTP and INFJ before finding my type because I couldn’t relate to the description at all.

Why do ESTJs think they know everything, make you feel stupid, and crap?

I’ll admit that Te can sound a lot more certain and set in stone than it actually is, so this has a little credit to it.

But, in a nutshell, condescending behavior is NOT a sign that someone is an ESTJ.

This know-it-all, condescending, narcissistic image that everyone has of us makes me roll my eyes and it gets tiring.

We’ll probably barrage you with questions if what you’re saying doesn’t match up with what we think or know is true.

But guess what? Every type can do this. It’s called thinking for yourself, which is a good thing.

I’ll admit we can sound arrogant to certain types, and it can feel like we’re insisting we’re right, but we’re just trying to see if you know what you’re talking about.

After all – Te *is* about competence and authority.

TLDR: Any type can do this. It’s not an ESTJ thing.

Why are ESTJs so angry, have a hot temper, and get mad so easily?

I can’t speak for every ESTJ, but I usually get this way when someone gets in my way. If I want something, I (usually) go get it.

So when someone or something thwarts me, it pisses me off.

And if you’re being honest with yourself, you could probably relate to that to *some* extent.

In other words: Having a short temper is NOT an ESTJ thing.

It depends on WHY you or the person you hate has a short temper.

But honestly?

When I am thwarted, my pissed off-ness comes off as frustration most of the time, not necessarily fire-breathing rage. (And even if it did, there ain’t nothin’ wrong with that :P)

Why do ESTJs never change their mind?

Another wonderful stereotype. *rolls eyes*

We can get stubborn about getting something done a certain way because people don’t do it up to a standard. This is generally a GOOD thing.

Standards exist for a reason. Standards create consistency, AND THIS IS A GOOD THING.

Especially in fields where safety is critical, like construction, engineering, or any field that involves maintaining consistency.

We can also get stubborn about our opinions and think we’re right… but so can any type.

I find it funny how ESTJs get shat on for not changing our minds while other types (like INFPs) get praised for having a backbone.

The hypocrisy is stupid at best and makes me wanna roll my eyes at people who think of ESTJs as the devil and INFPs as these wonderful angelic creatures who we torment for fun at work.

On a serious note, healthy ESTJs are open to possibilities and change because of tertiary Ne.

We got a playful contemplative side that can make us mistype as NFPs or any other type.

If you don’t see that side in us, it’s probably because we’re not in the mood, you don’t know us well enough, or cuz we don’t like you.

Because it’s the internet, and the internet loves pity parties and shitting on a type together.

Stereotyping ESTJs into these angry, narcissistic, arrogant know-it-alls is much easier (and meme-able) than understanding Te, Si, and all that jazz.

And if I’m being honest, I used to care. And if I’m being *really* honest, I still do care.

That’s why I’m writing this stupid article so I can hope that at least *one* person can change their minds about us, or at least consider it.

Anyway, that’ll be all for this article. I know it was super repetitive, but I wanted to be thorough and make a point.

something something a trend starts up in cqms where people ask their friends what animal they resemble (kind of like horoscopes or that personality test via blood type thing in korea)

eventually the peak lords get in on it, so to pass the time and avoid doing work they decide to talk about it during a peak lord meeting

they came up with

yqy : capybara

-> nice to everyone, no one except sqq has a grudge on him, was unanimously agreed on that this fit him perfectly

(sj) sqq : swan/snake

-> graceful and pretty but also aggressive and swift. swan and snake were tied. ppl didnt rlly linger on this little guy, his death glare was too powerful and cutting

wqw : manta ray/panda

-> gentle giant, wqw used to live by the sea and is huge plus the peaklords just gloss over him most of the time—hes perfectly fine with this btw he doesnt rlly care abt the trend. others argued hed fit a panda more bc while hes chill most of the time, when threatened he could be very dangerous hence the panda

qqq : swan/fox

-> very pretty, but everyone agrees shes also a bitch. well, only if she hates you, they then amended. everyone was initially going to go with swan but sqh suggested a fox, since xianshu's purchases for peanuts and fruits are through the roof, and foxes love those. everyone started switching sides for the fun of it

sqh : rat

-> qqq suggested this, and everyone went with it (also for the fun of it). everyones poking fun at sqh, but then someone comments how rats hissing are pretty terrifying. they then flashback to that one and only time sqh snapped at them, so the accuracy just rose a considerable degree

lqg : a wild feline

-> no one could decide on which. it went from leopard to jaguar to tiger to lion, but it always stayed in the cat family. lqg tried to suggest an animal from another kingdom, like a falcon, but everyone boo'd him off. hes just fun to bully, their little shidi. and he's just too cat-like, with that single-minded focus on his target, and that uncanny ability of landing on his two feet

mqf : snake

-> bc snakes also symbolize healing, and its a kind of subtle reference to how scary mqf can be when ur an uncooperative patient for too long (sqq can attest to this. he still evades doctors visits though since he out-intimidates mqf).

T.v./Dramas Consumed ‘22 Part 2

Part 1

Stranger Things s4 vol.1

I was pleasantly surprised with the direction that the show was taking in the first part of the season. I really enjoyed Eddie's addition to the cast and seeing slightly more Erica in the show. I am getting more and more annoyed with Mike's character, but other than that this season reignited a lot of my interest in this show. Episode 4 was easily one of the best episodes in this show in a while and Sadie Sink really showed off her acting chops this season. I have to say though, I am not enjoying the Russian plotline as much. It definitely is investing action wise, but I don't see how it will all connect to the main storyline before the season wraps up. I loved seeing more of Murray, but bringing Hopper back felt very cheap. Moreover, I was not that engaged with the bullying El storyline or the Byers + El meeting Mike again only for Eleven to get separated. Also, when El was getting her powers back and was seeing her past memories, I thought that 'Papa' already died? I was surprised to see him still alive. The show ending on the cliffhanger was really interesting with trying to predict what happens to Nancy.

Again My Life

DNF On episode 8 or so… hopefully will finish it.

I was really enjoying this revenge drama. One thing I really appreciate about this show is how the protagonist starts to create strong friendships and creates a team to take down Cho Tae Sub. I loved his relationship with the old real estate man.

Old Fashioned Cupcake

Love it! Sad that it's 5 episodes but it's sooo good. After episode 2 I binged the manga and am excited to see it acted out.

Update: Finished it! I really enjoyed this show! It felt like the episodes went by in a flash. The show packs in a lot in such little run time but it does it so effectively.

To My Star 2

So much pain, but so freaking good. The character and the relationship exploration is soooo good. I love how much care has gone into the season. I have no clue how it will conclude, but the writing has been strong so long so cautiously optimistic.

Update: I loved this show. Maybe even more than s1. The continuation of the story, the characterizations and problems presented and how the issues were tackled felt very organic and real to me. This was a very angsty season, but it was a very grounded show. I liked the resolution of the issue, I think that Jiwoo feeling like he doesn't exist without SJ is a huge issue. I am glad that the show focused more on establishing his place of belonging by creating a life outside his relationship with SJ.

Yumi's Cells season 1

With the release of season 2, I thought I'd check out season one of the show and its so much fun! I love Kim Go Eun and I enjoy how the show is progressing so far.

Update: I completed the season. I really enjoyed it! I really enjoyed Woong's character - he was such a lovable dork. I understand though why they ended up breaking up as there were many issues in their relationship. I was surprised that the last scene of this season was Woong and Yumi's breakup.

Yumi's Cells season 2

I started it! I found that this season it seems way sweeter than s1, probably bc of Jinyoung's character. I am curious to see where it goes. I'm enjoying it so far.

Update: Unsure how the season will progress since they broke up. I don't blame her for ending it at all, but it was a choice to bring back Woong from s1. I am very proud of her becoming an author though!

I finished this season and I think it was overall far more disappointing when compared to season 1 when comparing the progression of Yumi's relationship with Babi. The pacing of this show felt off and there was NOTHING that could save their relationship after they broke up even though they got together afterwards. I enjoyed Yumi's growth as a person this season and her shifting priorities but the balance between her growth and her romance was not handled well. I felt like shoehorning Woong and making him face-off against Babi was unnecessary and made Babi look worse.

Stranger Things s4 vol 2

I feel lied to with this whole vol 1 & 2 nonsense they pulled. There was no reason they couldn't just release all the episodes at once seeing as it was only 2 more episodes. Watching the rest of s4 once again sobered me up to the fact that the writing in this show cannot be trusted to be good. Really, the monologue Mike gave Eleven was very cringey. WTF happened with Max? They backpedalled like 3 times in the finale. She died, gongs 4 times, then she's in a coma? Either kill her properly or don't, but don't pull this bs.

Eddie dying did not really make sense. He should have just climbed the rope with Dustin bc their job (as decoys) was done. I hate that only Dustin even cared that he died even though he bonded with them all (but Gaetan really acted well there so good for him). The Steve/Nancy/Jonathan thing was very contrived drama that was kind of funny to me but not in a way I care about the outcome. I did NOT like the scenes between Steve and Nancy they felt so awkward these 2 episodes.

The one scene that I thought was touching was Will and Jonathan's talk which reminded me why I was so invested in their relationship in s1.

The trailer for the remainder of this season was FAR more engaging than the actual content they released. It was legitimately the first time this season I was so disengaged from the show. It was definitely far darker this season, but what a shame they didn't take full advantage of it. It felt very half-baked tonally.

All of Us Are Dead

I guess I just need to see an outbreak movie every once in a while. I really enjoyed the characters in this show and felt very attached to most of the high schoolers in the main crew and the archery crew. Gwi nam was an excellent villain, truly a menace! I also think that the formerly bullied girl who became unhinged should have had a chance to go after him though, I'd love to see how that turns out but alas. I understand the hype around the show but honestly I don't know why they are doing a s2, though I'm sure they'll end up adding new characters and expand the world-building. I can't say I'm interested or intrigued at a sequel, but I loved the first season for what it was.

Re-watch: Stranger Things s1

I can't believe how many things I got confused from s1 and s2. Re-watching it made me rethink why I liked Mike as a character from s1 itself. Steve definitely was a jerk, but honestly I felt like they set him up nicely as someone who wanted to do better from the beginning. The most surprising thing was my belief that Nancy and Steve broke up and she ended up with Jonathan in s1 when that wasn't the case.

Abbott Elementary s1

This show was just very wholesome and fun. Loved seeing Tyler now as a teacher after growing up with Everybody Hates Chris. I think that the actresses who played Barbra and Ava really stole the show for me! Looking forward to watching more!

Link: Eat, Love, Kill

I didn't expect this show to be so dark in the first two episodes. I like how there are many twists and mysteries that keep unravelling. My favourite couple easily is the police exes. They are so cute together!

Finished the show. It was a solid show overall. I think the mystery show was done well. I loved the exes relationship in this!

Alchemy of Souls

I am enjoying this show way more than I expected. I am nervous as this show is 20 episodes and already planning a season 2.

Update: I finished this show. I have to say that this show had an excellent arc and character progression up until episode 19. Episode 20 seemed like purposely stirring up intrigue and drama to continue the story over another season and brought out all the major secrets all at once. I am not fully confident with how s2 will progress given episode 20, however I have to say I really enjoyed the arc up til episode 19. Also I feel that while I am looking forward to more screen time for Jin Cho-yeon other than being a love interest, I didn't like that her wedding was what was ruined to bring it about. I am glad that they didn't go full character assassination with the Crown Prince in episode 20 because he is so charismatic and such an interesting character.

This show was very ambitious and I think for all its flaws it has solid characterizations and motivations, the drama didn't feel too forced (unless its for comedy).

Alias Grace

I really enjoyed this mini series! It was very intriguing to follow Grace's life from coming to Toronto from Ireland up until the end. I will say, I am surprised at the ending of the show.

The Good Place seasons 2-4

I am glad I came back to the show. I really enjoyed this series!! I found the humour really worked for me, the characters are so lovable and I love the overall message of the show. Chidi and Eleanor continually being the heart of the show really made Chidi's decisions in later season hit so much harder. I love Jason's relationships with everyone. It was fun seeing Michael's character development throughout the show. I also really enjoyed Simone's addition to the cast! She was a delight!

Re-watch: Nobuta wo Produce

This show holds up so well! I was never able to forget that one scene when Nobuko helped the old man when he collapsed. That scene burned itself into my memory. I felt like I thought this show had more romance focus than it did in reality. I love the three main characters, I especially love and relate to Kazuhaya on a different level than the other two, but I love how the trio balance each other out. I love how weird everyone was at their school including the teachers. I really enjoyed re-watching this show!!

Derry Girls Season 3

I am so sad that this show is over, but I am glad that it ended well. I really loved all the characters and watching them get up to their insane shenanigans. This season was just as funny as the previous ones and just as heartfelt. Absolute twist they pulled with Uncle Colm finding Eammon boring lol. When this show ended, I totally get why the actor who plays James ships his character with Erin so much.

Re-watch: Stranger Things s2

I finally finished this and I have to say this season is way better upon re-watch. I remember thinking that this season was not to par of the original, but I really enjoyed the possession arc with Will. I think it was the first real season we got more insight into his personality and Noah really shone in this season.

I loved seeing the scenes with Mike/Will and seeing Lucas and Max's relationship develop. I think the most controversial and hated episode with Eleven and Kali was exaggerated too much. It fit the tone of the show and I really enjoyed El's rock/emo/outcast phase. Especially coming off of where Eleven was mentally it fit in well. Tbh I would love if Kali reappears at one point in the show (though I won't hold out hope). It does bother me that El's storyline with her mom which was a fun plot thread this season was NOT resolved nor ever mentioned again. Same thing with El reclaiming her birth name - Jane. I hope there is some resolution for this in s5...

Also, I did not remember how Barb and her family got closure due to Nancy/Johnathan and Murray's help. I appreciate that Steve and Nancy grew apart due to how her guilt consumed her. It was done well and made a lot of sense. Steve the babysitter set-up and his friendship with Dustin beginning was another highlight this season.

Little Women (Tvn)

This was a fun and WILD ride. I watched it bc it has my two girls - my faves Nam Ji Hyun <3 and Kim Go Eun <3. I have to say this show was super trippy and twisty but also at times very straight-forward and formulaic. The whole show felt like a juxtaposition given how the characters and plot were written. It is visually stunning but you really need to shut of your brain to watch imo (and really escape into the absurdity). I had a lot of fun with this show and it is enjoyable though not for everyone.

Interview with a Vampire

Its so good!!! On the edge of my seat each episode. The relationship is so interesting because of how complex each character is. The dialogue at times is so poetic. Looking forward to more! Must read the books as well!

Koisenu Futari

Finally found the subs for this show (after months of wanting to see it) and it is my type for sure! I am flying through it because its so good and fun. I am trying to make it last more than a binge. I love the characters and how the are growing and influencing each other. I love the questions the show raises and how it portrays asexuality and aromanticism as well as questioning 'what makes a family?' I love the emphasis on the diversity of opinions and mutual respect while recognizing everyone has their own ideas on how to live their lives.

Silent

What a masterpiece of a show. I am obsessed with all the characters. Such an interesting show and love all the discourse around Sakurai Sou's disability and him learning to open back up to people.

Lookism (anime)

I really enjoyed how the webtoon was animated for the short 8 episodes. I like how much it adds to the experience getting to listen to the song that the mc sings at the concert in the final episode and watching all the fight scenes. Time to continue reading the webtoon.

Summer Strike

So... I thought this was going to be a cozy slice-of-life watch (though ngl I mainly watched for Im Siwan). I loved the main two characters and the slow nature of the show. I have to see that the ending felt super rushed which really dampened my experience with this show. The relationships between the characters felt rushed and could have been fleshed out more to make it more impactful.

This book took a while to write, but every minute was fun. My co-writer and I (SJ Powell) spent many late nights (morning for him due to time zone difference), re-reading and editing what I had written. It wasn't easy for him because, between us, I was the local one who knew the lore. But his appreciation of the lore was very helpful. Sol provided the insight of someone who is not familiar with the lore, but was fascinated by it.

The wonderful Boyet Abrenica did the beautiful artwork, and we are very pleased with it — Sol and I, and our publisher.

We are proud of this work. It features characters, rituals, and magic as true to the lore as possible. The creatures in the book are unique, we guarantee, to whoever loves fantasy. The lore is very rich with fascinating beings, both mortal and immortal, corporeal and ethereal.

To foreign readers, if you want a break from vampires, werewolves, faes, angels, and demons — we want to tempt you with equally ominous, dangerous, yet oh so compelling creatures.

To the Filipinos who grew up with and loves horror and fantasy stories about the usual scary suspects — aswangs, manananggals, tiyanaks, etc. We dare you to read a more diverse spread of horrific impaktos and malignos. They are the staple in our books. I promise you; I didn't invent them. They have long existed in our culture. I just brought them to the fore. Sol can vouch for how gruesome a few of them were.

The main characters of the series are also particularly timely, although we didn't purposefully write it because of the current 'woke' culture pertaining to the LGBTQ ++ community. Feminine energy just happened to be crucial to the nature of a Katalonan. Hooray for the pre-colonial Filipinos for being so accepting. (Sometimes I wonder what happened to that mindset.)

We wrote the "bayoks/bayoguin" characters with little emphasis on their gender. We simply wrote them as humans, as people whose issues would resonate with anyone. Indeed, without the femininity born into them, they wouldn't be Katalonans.

But most especially, the series is more about the lore — fantastical, dark, natural and full of wisdom.

Meeting LBH also grosses her out bc on one hand, sad shidi! needs to become his pillar of support, the System declares!

her punishment protocols are not gory, but terrifying all the same. in fact, she’d rather mindnumbing gore than the fucking endless hallways of the merged realm palace, buxom women with soulless eyes and stepford smiles walking after her, pining her down, cajoling her into ‘doing her duty’ with her husband. feeling her self and consciousness being drained out as ... yeah. as it happens.

so she tries to keep her distance but still is nice. tries to be professional, and not too warm.

Ends up spending a lot of time on other peaks, meets lmy.

and then the plot goes to shit when sy transmigrates

(because she’s a disciple and not a peak lord, she never has the opportunity to catch either sqq or sqh as transmigrators until much later, pre implosion death. but she’s really really fucking sus, especially after the immortal alliance conference)

and while that’s happening and the realm is going to shit, z!nyy is colluding with lmy and shl to try and get both realms under control since lbh has let it go sideways as he’s committing soft necro for five years

and because it’s not svsss without sexy stuff, bc she got to know lmy and shl as actual people and they are truly the only ones she feels comfortable around, it’s a lesbian ménage à trois

hmm. how z!nyy and the two bros meet as transmigrators.

while sqq and sqh are colluding to avoid death, they kinda... let slip. so she looks at the schedules. knows when sqq and sqh are meeting next. she catches sqh before sqq arrives, and pretends to be doused in some fake papapa sex pollen bs, and ‘oh, shishu, begging shishu’s guidance to help this yingying~’ because making fun of cheesy hentai-esque dialogue is infinitely more entertaining than watching it straight. lets her obscenely short ‘uniform’ do its thang

sqh stutters out a ‘z-zett-tai ryouiki s-school girl attack’

z!nyy: i knew it, you fucking NEET slime

sqh: (surprised pikachu face)

I don't hold it against him or blame him personally, but I often think about it if I think about him for too long. Hindsight is 20/20. I have conflicted feelings. The reason it took me so long to reply is I really want to convey I don't blame him but also we need to acknowledge and analyse what happened here.

Zhou mi: LOVE him. I really do!! Great vibes from him, he seems like a great guy. Truly an icon. Really deserved better and sm absolutely wasted his talent. Rewind and whats your number were the two best solos from any suju member. I love that he vibes with yoongi.

shindong: literally just a sexist and racist loser. get a hobby.

Donghae: again, I have a soft spot. he's ok. great dancer and pretty attractive. he's on thin ice... not for anything specific I just... hmm asqkshsdjsnalkak

eunhyuk: I don't hate him but he doesn't pass the vibe check. tell iu I said get well soon girl!

Heechul: his relationship with momo is gross, we should have known considering how weird he was about sohee. jessica too. I despise him.

Leeteuk: oh god. well here we go. I don't like this man. first of all, known misogynist telling suzy to loose weight?? like? fix ur face before you speak to her!!! he literally gives me fight or flight. last person who should have ever been the leader of a group. I was wary of him because of how the members talked about how he was mean to kyu when he first joined the group, but the fact that he literally admitted that one time sungmin, shindong and eunhyuk were teasing him and it was all fun until he suddenly got annoyed and grabbed eunhyuk by the throat... and not even because eunhyuk specifically pissed him off but because he's the least likely to defend himself and because he knows shindong is bigger than him and sungmin wouldn't fucking hesitate bitch... imagine admitting to that! and then he said eunhyuk was so upset he didn't show up tp work later. I don't blame him! that's scumbag behaviour! that just made me very uncomfortable. Also he was blatantly cold towards and excluded sungmin since his engagement was announced, it was fucking weird. I wasn't surprised at all to find out he was messaging girls who are new to the industry and 13 years younger than him, and apparently he was messaging other younger women as well saying shit like "you should know who I am". I'm not saying he's abusive, idk him like that so that would be a big accusation and out of pocket. but from what I can see there's a pattern of targeting people who are like... more vulnerable than him? and I don't like it.

Henry: the violin solo in don't don is iconic! He's racist tho and I don't like him.

hangeng: his solo music is so good. clown mask fucking slaps!!! I'm happy he's happy and I also am relieved that, like sungmin, he's fucking normal and married to a woman the same age as him. Really like him, he passes the vibe check.

Kangin: a terrorist. I despise him. he's not a person he is a list of crimes committed. only think about him when I'm thinking about suju on intimate note talking about how he did NOT pass sungmins vibe check. he's a misogynist and idc about him.
