Fake Voyager Episode: Tuvok gets kidnapped and forced to compete in an arena where telepaths fight one another to the death for a shot at fortune and prestige. He was initially kidnapped as 'fodder' - the aliens who run the arena will grab any telepathic alien they can find regardless of skill and they're essentially just there to be killed by flashier veterans of the bloodsport. The episode is mainly Tuvok showing off his tactical know-how and combat skills. We also get several flashbacks to him as a young man, learning how to fight both on Vulcan and in Starfleet. There's a concern that he will lose himself when forced into this seemingly endless battle, surrounded by violence, but in the end he prevails and manages to escape without killing a single person. More than enough time. It was a shrewd precaution to nullify my telepathic ability. However. I do not need them to best you in combat.

thinking about that scene from Leverage at the end of The Cross My Heart Job where Chesney says, it seems you’ve killed me mr. Ford, and Nate goes “I didn’t kill you. God killed you, I just… made sure it took” and the fact that this is a former priest saying these words,

and how if you look at this episode and step .0001 to the left, it could so easily be a DS9 episode, with Kira saying that line. like!!

perhaps it’s a Cardassian ship raiding resources from Bajoran Reconstruction efforts in s1 or 2, or maybe it’s later in the show with one of the Vorta or something, but I can just imagine throughout the whole episode, whoever the villain character is and Kira basically playing 5d chess trying to outwit the other, and at last when we’re 39 minutes into the 45 minute episode and Kira and Sisko have saved the day with the help of the Orbs and/or Prophets directly, and they’ve gotten things set to rights plot-wise, and maybe the villain character is in one of Odo’s cells on DS9 or on their ship that’s about to blow and is saying that they can never return home, they’ll be cast out or killed for failing to complete their mission, and they look at Kira and say “it seems you’ve gotten what you wanted, Major, you’ve killed me” I can just imagine her doing that ferally fierce smile thing she does, looking them straight in the eye, and saying, “oh no, I didn’t kill you. The Prophets killed you, I just… made sure it took”

like. I need to sit down. this concept slaps so hard. I want to turn this into an actual fic now omg. like. I’m so hyped over this whole concept

(ps maybe with a part midway thru the story where Kira is feeling like she’s run out of options and Sisko looks at her and suggests they turn to the Prophets ((so it would have to be later seasons then!!)) and somehow works in a “we provide… leverage” reference because. of course)
