Just past 1am. Three firm knocks on the front door.

E.J. ‘s eyes narrow as the exact same knock sounds again. A lightbulb goes off in his mind.

  Oh fuck no.

 E.J. sits up from his bed and climbs down the stairs as quickly as he can manage with the head rush. He’s sure his stomps can be heard from his front stoop. He leans in to look through the peephole to see the same uncomfortable frame as two years ago staring back at him.

  Bowen.

 E.J. tosses the door open so hard it bangs against the opposite wall, much to Ricky’s surprise. He grabs Ricky by the front of his hoodie with his fist, yanks him into the foyer and slams the door behind him. His neighbors won’t like the yelling.

“What in the fucking world are you doing here?” E.J. says, venomously.
