Job headcanon (in an AU/or future): either a doctor, or a tattoo artist/jewel designer (that cover story of hers kind of stuck with me and I like to keep the Shadowhunter aesthetic of runes in some kind of way through tattoos)

Animal shifter headcanon: I mean, a snake offers itself to her, but I lean toward birds for the Shadowhunters and there, I like to make her a peacock

Favorite canon thing about them: that she can do basically anything, I mean she is a badass fighter, she is a forensic scientist, a general scientist and kind of doctor?, she can forge weapons, what CAN'T she do!

Least favorite canon thing about them: Ironically, the same as my favorite thing, because while I can use it as "she is very talented", on a writing-level it just always came off as "we need a Shadowhunter to do x uuuh let's use Izzy" and I didn't like that, because it didn't feel like it was about her

I think the reason I don’t like Simon and Izzy as a couple is them kind of bringing the worst into each other like when they used Rosa against Raphael or Izzy brings on her altruistic egocentrism when she vouches for Simon and equates her addiction to Maia’s lycanthropy or how Simon starts treating Maia in 3b. Also it feels like they retconned some of Izzy’s character traits in order to either make Simon special (3x19) or make them super compatible (3x11)

Hmmm, yeah, anon, that is fair. The show definitely bends Izzy’s characterisation (at will, for any old reason), and this is just my onion but I felt like they had to destroy Simon’s excellent chemistry with Maia somehow to justify the breakup and did a typically heavy-handed job of it.

As for Izzy and Simon using Rosa against Raphael—yeah, it’s not a proud moment for either of them. Raphael tells Izzy about Rosa in what we have to assume is confidence, during their brief stormy affair, and Izzy uses that information to get one over him.

However, Raphael makes a similar barely-veiled threat against Simon’s mother back in early 2A (when he’s trying to make Simon find Camille for him). You can argue that Simon and Izzy are protagonists and we expect them to do better, while Raphael is more of a grey area character and his flexible morals are thus permissible, but he did do that thing with Elaine. So I feel like that could also be Izzy playing Raphael’s own game back at him (and she does later tell him she hopes he knows she’d never have hurt his sister). Still, none of them come out of that looking good.

I do kind of hate that whenever Izzy and Maia have scenes together, it is in some way about Simon, and Izzy spends a lot of them talking down her nose to Maia. It’s doubly weird because we have Izzy and Clary, who have such a nice dynamic between two girls, and Maia gets condescended to constantly by Izzy. Like Izzy doesn’t hide her insecurities and play them off at will! This was a big part of her yin fen storyline and then in 3.11 she’s suddenly always seeking company when she’s feeling low. Excuse you.

That is just Tuesday in the Shadowhunters writers’ room, though. Izzy grows a new personality by the week.

I don’t totally get fandom’s dislike for Simon in 3B? I checked out from most fandom conversations around 3.13 as the season was airing, so I’m sure I missed a lot. His speech to Maia about not taking justice in her own hands with regard to Heidi can be read as pandering to corrupt authority (= the Shadowhunters), but there is also a gentler interpretation. He thinks Maia is a good person and he doesn’t want her to make herself commit murder, even in just vengeance for her pack. Violence always hurts the victim first and foremost, but there’s a cost paid by the inflicting party. This interpretation would require more nuanced writing/acting than Shadowhunters is known for, though, so it’s mostly personal headcanon territory.

That said, I always did prefer Simon and Izzy as friends. Their platonic relationship has always felt more compelling to me than shoving them hastily together in the last episodes.

Vamp Baby

Request: Could you do a short story were Raphael and the reader have a baby together but they both are vampires :) + Can you do a Raphael Santiago imagine where the reader is a vampire dating Raphael and she is out helping Simon and on the way back to the hotel she finds a mundane baby abandoned in an ally and she takes the baby back to the hotel and Raphael is absolutely furious but then starts warming up to the baby and call the baby his daughter/son whatever you prefer :)

AN: It’s been a while since I’ve written anything so I apologize if this is terrible. Feedback is welcome! Any comments are welcome!

“You sure you wanna do this?” I asked for what felt like the millionth time.

“Raphael doesn’t like me, I’m sure he’s happy I’m gone,” Simon shrugged.

“He doesn’t not like you,” I lightly bump his shoulder, “he’s just emotionally constipated.”

“You would know too,” we both laughed.

“Comes with the territory,” I laugh it off.

We walked in silence for a while, just enjoying the nightlife. We were almost to the hotel when I heard a strange noise.

“Do you hear that?” I stopped by a shoe store.

“Hear what?” Simon looked back at me.

“Crying,” I glanced at him before taking off in the direction of the noise. I stopped in the alley behind some apartments, Simon close behind.

Slowly we approached the sound, behind the dumpster was a baby carrier, “is that what I think it is?” Simon peered over me.

I kneeled down and pulled the blanket back revealing a small red haired baby, nearly a year old. Gently I unbuckled him and lifted him in my arms, “hello little one.” I rocked him until his crying stopped.

“Oh my- who would leave a baby in an alley?” Simon looked around the alley.

“We should take him back to the hotel,” I started walking back the way we came.

“Are you insane?! That place is full of vampires!” Simon nearly yelled.

“Grab his thing will you,” I ignored his outburst.

“YN you can’t be serious!” he caught up with me, carrier and bag in hand.

“They’ll be dead before they hit the ground if they try to hurt this baby,” I looked up at him with determination.

“Alright, but what about Raph?” panic slowly returning to his eyes.

“Leave him to me,” I wrapped the baby in the blanket and ran to the hotel. We made our way through to the penthouse. Vampires quietly following us, curious to see what could possibly be giving off that smell, though they all knew what it was.

“What is he doing here?” Raphael hissed.

“He’s my guest now shut up,” I turned to Simon, “you can leave those by the couch.”

“Where did you get that?” he narrowed his eyes at the bundle in my arms.

“It’s called a baby Raph,” I rolled my eyes at him, “we found him abandoned in an alley,” I sat on the couch, uncovering the baby.

“Take it to an orphanage,” he demanded, “this is no place for it.”

“He’s staying,” I stated.

“Get it out of here,” he ordered two vampires on his right.

Simon tried blocking their path but they pushed him into a wall. I held the baby tight against me and attacked the vampires. I kicked one into the couch and dodged the other’s attacks. I kicked the back of his knees, bringing him down, and bit into his neck. I spit out the piece of flesh I had in my mouth and bared my fangs at the rest.

“Next one who comes close to us will become dust,” I snarled. Raphael tried taking a step towards us but stopped once I hissed at him, “I’m not giving him up. If he goes, I go.”

Raphael narrowed his eyes, looking me up and down before finally sighing, “he’s your responsibility. If anything happens to him, it’s on you,” he signalled the others to leave then made his way to the bar.

“Simon can you help me take these to my room?” he nodded and we left to said room. Leaving Raphael to sulk with his Bloody Mary.

One Year Later

It took Raphael 2 months to finally warm up to Matt. He would secretly leave things I needed for Matt in my room, although he wasn’t as secretive as he wanted to be. When I woke up in the middle of the morning I would find him sleeping on the other side of Matt. I even found him talking to him from time to time. He slowly started to care for him, he’d deny it if you asked.

“The party has officially arrived,” I announced as I walked into Magnus’ apartment.

“Oh my god!” Izzy ran over to me once she caught sight of Matt, “who’s baby is this?” She cooed at him.

“Ours,” came Raph’s instant response.

“Who’d you steal him from?” Jace’s hand slowly went to his seraph blade.

“I found him abandoned in an alley a year ago,” I carefully took Matt out of his carrier so Izzy could carry him.

“Does the Clave know?” Alec smiled as Izzy got closer to him.

“They don’t and they won’t,” I sternly looked at them. Matt made grabby hands at Jace, who awkwardly grabbed him.

“He’s our son and we’re not giving him up,” Raphael placed his arm around my waist, glaring at the Lightwood’s.

“We’re glad you could make it,” Magnus hugged us each in turn, lightly pinching the baby’s cheeks.

The rest of the evening went peacefully. Izzy hardly let anyone grab Matt, if someone did have him she would take them back soon enough.

I leaned my head on Raphael’s shoulder, “who’d’ve thought we would ever have a baby,” he stared lovingly at Matt.

I know I have a series on my ao3 account called "my tiny ass fandom fest" for small fandoms but I feel like I should have another one titled "absolute fucking rarepairs" because I have some ships for fandoms that over 30k fics but I'm writing a pairing so small they have below fifty fics (some all the way to BELOW TEN bc I'm the only one writing them).

...all of which is to say I don't know how my Riley/Ivan/Chase fic got so popular in the Dino Charge fandom because up until a few months ago I was the ONLY ONE writing for them.

Most of you don’t know me, but here it is:

My name is Blue, I’m a trans nonbinary dude, and I’m a writer as well as a freelance editor. Because I have a lot of bills to pay and a lot of projects I work towards (including surgery), I’m trying to put money aside to be able to live.

I write fanfiction since pretty recently, you can find me on AO3 under the username IndigoDream. I’ve written a few multi-chaptered fics, and a few one shots. I mostly post Malec, although I’m willing to write almost any ship!

I have a Ko-Fi and the goal is to be able to open up Patreon as well, so I can set more goals!

I would love to have more time to write, and to do so I’m willing to write anything if you buy me a Ko-Fi! Show me a proof that you have, and I’ll write you a short one-shot with the pairing and setting that you want! For one Ko-Fi, I’ll go around 500-700 words :)

If you’re looking for an editor/beta reader, both for original content and fanwork, I’ll do it for a Ko-Fi, with 2k for each Ko-Fi!

Please, help me out, I’m already 60k in debts that I have to start paying back by the end of 2020, and I don’t have much saved up.

saphael/siphael is dating. they were a thing and now they're back and happy.

clizzy is dating. clary admitted to herself she's a lesbian and izzy that she's m-spec.

alec broke up with magnus for the most dramatic proposal ever and this is so in character.
