i’ve been reading your fatamoru liveblogs and it hits the nail exactly on the head on why i have mixed feelings towards the end of door 8 like you just put it all to words. i’m still genuinely baffled by how the writers DO let morgana move on while not forgiving him, but they also don’t make any comments on how horrific it is that he had feelings for her…? idk. it’s less that i think she’s not already forgiving him for the ‘wrong reasons’ but more so that the writers seem to gloss over jacopo’s WORST trait and then inadvertently portray morgana as if she’s ignoring this Giant Fucking Elephant in the room. it’s very offputting and it’s a shame to fumble some of your themes that close to endgame -_-
yeah fata morgana is sooooo fixated on its tragic romances that it cannot let go here and as far as i know requiem is an entire game dedicated to this subplot written mostly from the groomer's pov and doubles down on wanting you to sympathize with him as well as root for him on this which definitely makes me think worse of the writers and the game even if there are aspects of it that i still enjoy. i'll probably read it eventually bc i'm morbidly curious but i'm definitely going to have to liveblog to friends or something to be able to get through it because jesus

OKAY WELL. I think there is a very clear contender and it is the burning her parents to death. There is a reason this moment is one of the five most prominent pieces of her shattered soul.

this is maybe not what the question was angling towards but minerva is surrounded by people who are walking doormats and martyrs so she is very vocal about making sure her loved ones don't take on too much. if she sees jinal working herself into the ground, she will harass jinal into taking a break. if she sees kai trying to cook with a broken arm she will call in the cavalry (jinal). idt anyone else in the ennead except silpa is like... any good at asserting themselves. so minerva ends up doing this fairly often

them being the other eight immortals, of course. see, as karai's chosen avatar, jinal cannot die--but the other eight can die, technically speaking. they've just chosen not to. they promised to keep jinal company for as long as it takes. and jinal sees the joy in felix's eyes when he talks about his ice skating students, and she sees the excitement with which kai teaches physics, and she sees how silpa enjoys picking apart the latest gadgets and she knows that they have other reasons to live, but it still nags at her, this idea that she is subjecting them to eternal life against their will.

Both versions of Merry desire to know the cause of their brother’s death, the reason behind it, and want justice against the ones who are to blame. The only difference is that fallen london Merry has completed this desire.
Although… they want more than that. That was only one step. They want to see the masters of the bazaar finally let go of the people of London and to never take down another city into the Neath ever again.
Merry is still caught up in the death of their brother and it fuels much of their hatred for the authority that caused his death. For friendcorp au… I’m not exactly sure yet who is to blame and why, but I know one of the syndicates is at fault-

For the greatest failure… I’d have to say for fallen london Merry it was trusting a stranger too much. They became too desperate and easily trusting when they thought they finally had someone who cared about them. A dashing stranger who so romantically swept them off their feet and showered them in gifts.
Only to then show his true intentions of luring them into a false sense of trust just to steal their soul.
While they didn’t lose it to him, they still came away scarred after fighting with Charlie and with a new sense of distrust in the people around them and their intentions. They don’t speak of it often, so only their partner and people they trust would know.
As for friendcorp Merry? They get caught up in so many things they’ve done wrong. But mostly they worry over their failures at their old facility, especially getting banned from the abnormality that they had just wanted to study.

future: What's the worst possible future for your OC? Are they taking steps to avoid that outcome? Are they even aware it's a possibility?
oooh.. ive been thinking of things like this for her tbh. the worst ending overall is one where angel (ill make a post for her after this!) wins them over entirely. angel lives in parabola, which is you get to by taking drugs (prisoner's honey), and she's a metaphor for addiction as a whole (last name is wormwood - used to make absinthe. she ultimately plans to steal mae's soul, which can lead to like. hollowness/becoming 'lifeless,' etc). oh also just. puts wireburn by valendar here. that's angel
skipping to the ending itself: mae is stuck in parabola. she is stuck with her sickly sweet lover who she's become dependent on. also thinking of angel making her physically weaker, either by continued used of prisoners honey or throuh other drugs or something (trope of being like. caretaken while you have a fever <3 then it turns sinister! yay!). fluffy domestic life stuff, but mae is usually tired/sick(?) or under the influence of drug #10395728. she's tired and hates ange... but also loves her. no, she hates her, no, but she loves her, no.... and she's too tired to think. she'd rathter just give in.
and as for leaving parabola: they can't due to her addiction to the honey! she always comes crawling back. it's pathetic. she tears the flowers and all their domestic pretend away, growing to hate angel and prisoners honey, and winds up coming right back. the cycle! 🎉🎉🎉🎉
wound: How does your OC handle being wounded? Are their wounds mostly physical? Mental? Emotional? What's the worst wound your OC has ever experienced?
mae tries to just grimace and work through it/ignore it. she keeps overworking herself into more wounds... looks at the times she's gotten wounds 6-7 and never taking the time to heal up. so her wounds are mostly physical (mental wounds are there but it's more one big incident rather than these repeated smaller ones).
the worst physical wound she's experienced is probably during her first death, flying into the eye. her airship was disintegrating, and the harsh ass wind blew her into it's side. the broken wood of the floor pierced her chest, which killed her. she also ripped an eye out before that. ouch
mentally.. the whole starved war. mae faced a lot of combat while flying, mainly flying away from ships as fast as possible, but sometimes they did have to fight or face death. on her 2nd to last flight - due to flying with wounds 7/overworking for so long - her ship barely made it out of an encounter with the starved men. lots of damage, nearly all the crew died, and mae herself almost died as well. basically a 50/50 chance to have succeeded on my last check to escape them.
and, ofc, on her next and final flight: the eye. she looked direclty into it as she flew into it and gained eldritch madness 🎉🎉🎉!! but really, both the war and the eye itself gave her ptsd/ocd. she has a religious relationship with it, as the unmaker of us that may return one day, and which.. possesses? her to suddenly want to get more knowledge. to see more, to learn more. and once she does, she will understand herself and be happy. (especially as her nightmares goes up, she starts betraying others for more knowledge)
the vast majority of that is mae coping 👍 the "i'll understand this one day" thing is so she doesnt have to look back at her problems. its her coping with them and the basis of her stability as a whole. so you can kinda see how altering it was for her

(👑) well that's gotta be spring no question! (EXTREMELY LOUD INCORRECT BUZZER AND THE LIE DETECTOR GIVES ME AN ELECTRIC SHOCK) okay. actual answer: considering the main real world ref for brasidas maybe they too have a winter that lasts all the way to march... and it'd bother them as a Concept, how it lasts so little and doesn't do nearly enough to change the place. u want it to make the whole place green and warm but it doesn't. symbolically: it was kalan's season and they're trying So Hard to be that kinda person who is unbothered and joyful but they just aren't. NOWWW in season terms. and in eladrin terms. summer is about Action and strong emotions that are sometimes Bad AND it's about the sun being annoying as fuck. and mimi's at a summer point in his life. burning light reflecting off the water and limeade that needs more sugar 🍋 and. he'll learn to like spring again probably. in the eladrin sense of letting themselves be happy bc they feel like it and not because It's The Way I Should Be and also in the literal sense of: they need to go to a big flower field in the middle of spring and see the snow thaw and see that maybe SOMEONE was right and even their home can bloom in its own way and there is something good and worth saving in it. look at it all with brand new eyes. then it'll be spring.
(🍊) oughhh my boy... having barely really met anyone with even a drop of elven blood i def think marcus doesn't really have the... cultural baggage? about seasons that tiare has, which is a little bad and a little good. as we have previously established: he's mostly been autumn all his life literally because he's Like That and hasn't really… been feeling things that deeply, in a sense. not to be always quoting that ask polly post but yk "it's the strongest emotion you've ever felt and you've convinced yourself it's your destiny". actually another: the fucking conan gray song that goes "u don't have to act like all you feel is mild (...) u don't really like the sun it drives u wild" something like that going on. been too long by himself and it's like he's forgotten that he too is... just some guy and can feel angry or attached to someone just like anyone else and there's nothing wrong with it. so that is marcus' lack of eladrin baggage 🧍♂️ but similarly to mithra! i think rn he likes spring a lot, all the bright colors that feel so different from him, but he'll probably grow to like autumn as a Thing later on. spring being a symbol of rebirth but autumn too as a sign of a slower change, and a time to value your memories rather than just looking for something different. the backyard covered in brown and orange leaves and his mother's hands red with pomegranate seeds.
(🏞) ROVIIIII ok actually. despite having drawn em wintery to signify that in current times they're not doing well. they actually like winter a lot! they aren't winter a lot because they're just. not pensive and reflective enough, or haven't been most of their lifeSARFDTGHDSF genuinely don't think she has much baggage about it (i'm NOT lying, unlike for the marcus answer) which i guess is the positive point of having grown up in the feywild! they've always been used to change, it doesn't seem to bother them. anyway. i think the season roviere's most aligned with (and probably my favorite color palette for them also DCGHJD) is spring for sunlight til late in the evening and good winds perfect for seafaring. ideal conditions. but if you asked them: summer because they think they're hottest as a blonde. fall is probably nonio's favorite because the red to blue gradient is pretty and to him it means they're not Hyper Spring Mode so maybe they could sit down to relax together. so rovi likes it too by proxy.

SHAVED ICE - do they still have any objects from their childhood? what significance does it have to them? what would their reaction be if they lost it?
innes (green hair) - technically his sword (which is not pictured in that image unfortunately) is an object from his childhood because it's kind of a family heirloom- he wasn't meant to inherit it, it was promised to another person in the commune he grew up in, but you know sometimes your adoptive father with whom you have a deeply strained relationship with dies on the blade of that sword (which normally hangs above a mantelpiece in the living room) and you walk in on it and attempt to pursue the killer with said sword only for the killer to escape and you to be implicated in the crime 👍 if the sentence ended early this would be word for word ryuko matoi's backstory in kill la kill but anyway, that sword is both what's damning him and what's saving him and if he lost it he'd have an anxiety fueled meltdown because it's one of two things keeping him grounded
RAINBOW - what advice would they give to their younger self?
robin - "hell isn't real and 'in for a penny in for a pound' is not a good reason to commit murder when the penny in this situation is having intentionally killed a dove when you were 12" <- this is an oversimplification of robin's life that is completely ignoring the chain of events that actually led to his first kill but it's about how she'd deliver the advice to his 20 year old self
SPIDER - what is their biggest fear? do they have any irrational / mundane fears?
edelmiro - he's afraid of being alone. which is fun because he is actually a pretty solitary figure, he doesn't stay places long enough to make many real friends and while he doesn't give off the impression of someone who's socially isolated in many ways he is. admittedly that's not how he sees it- he knows living breathing people who do actually care about him and that does help to ward off the negative effects of being a lone traveler type, but he will hang on to any genuine friends he makes like they're a lifeline because they are, even if he'll never admit it. also he's afraid of ghosts

I saw people in the comments say theyre disappointed in the way Dominik is speaking but I can‘t understand anything 😭. Can you translate some of it please?
Ok, so I think there must have been some mistake with the translation of the comments, because they are saying the guy - Marics Peti, another wannabe hungarian musician - was very rude, trashy, acting in an embarassing matter, and they are saying that even Dominik seemed embarassed by how he was acting, the things he was saying. So, it's not Dominik they are slandering but the other guy - rightfully see, he was being very cringe.
But here is the translation. M is for the other guy, D is for Dominik.
M: " Go to the fucking hell! When will you cut your hair, it looks very bad you dickhead!"
D: " [It looks bad] because i got beer all over me."
M: "We had a concert in Gyula, bro, yeah, we are livin' it" (he uses slang, it's very hard to translate)
D: "Where?"
M: "Gyula (hungarian city), bro"
D: "Where?" *mockingly, laughs*
M: "It's next to Leipzig, not far away."
D: "Then why didn't you come by?"
M: " Bro, invite me to one of your matches then. Did you get 3rd place in the Bundesliga then?"
D: "Yeah."

*Dominik kisses the camera

D: "Oh no!"
* M says something about Dominik cant hearing him because of the type of expensive car he has?"

Dominik flips the camera, showing the bus, some of his teammates

D: " I will start driving the bus if we won't get going."
M: "Yeah, do that, come to Budapest"
*Dominik starts walking, shows the camera one of his teammates, Simikas and Nkunku. They are posing for the camera. All of them start yelling*
M: "Wait, don't show more people because I won't know their names, you dickhead, fuck! What about Gula (hungarian goalie, plays for RB Leipzig), how's his knee?"
*Dominik speaking german to his teammates*
D: " He will be fine soon." *gets a beer, asks if someone could open it for him*
M: " Bro, a true hungarian opens it with his teeth, come on."
*Dominik tries to open it with his teeth as a joke*
M: " Ok, Neymar is calling me on the other phone, I will hang you up."
D: " No, wait! He's calling you as well?"

god. we've actually already had some silly moments of "hey you're nice why do you just hang around your brother when he's like that." which... is something without an answer to. they're basically the only thing in each other's worlds. of course she's sticking to him no matter what. i already know there's going to be a big disagreement if they ever end up meeting their father whom they have different levels of attachment to 💀... there's also the question of religion- i already discussed with dm that they won't really be happy if fane keeps following this revenge quest she and her brother have going on... this is definitely sustainable and will not end up with them both cracking under the slightest pressure. tunes for this topic

i feel like if he'd had a fun little prophecy biomom might've kept him just to see what would happen LOLLLL but he's remarkably Some Guy so far. i do think the tempest boys in general could make for a good prophecy. those four who separated by space may cross time to fight together... or something. "the unaging warrior of elven blood" is a very prophecy vibe he's got going on. the sunken reach-- his plane of origin-- hasn't been doing too well lately. maybe they might even see his return, together with the boys, as a good sign to help them against the coming winter...

A/N: Hello this my @nagamas gift for @simikae . I hope you like it and I enjoyed writing this!!
Summary: Forde paints a portrait of the twins.
It was a peaceful day in Renais. The sun was out and there was not one cloud in the sky. Not to mention the weather was absolutely perfect. It was warm out with a nice cool breeze that would come through every so often.
A good day in Forde’s mind to relax and be lazy for a change. With there being no skirmishes against Grado’s army or any duties to perform that day he thought it best to just laze around all day and do absolutely nothing, and that he did.
Having just woken up from a very rejuvenating nap, the blonde man had first set his gaze upon the sun's rays peeking through the tree he was currently under. He wondered if this would make a good painting, but after a moment of thought he decided against it. He needed something that was more of a rare sight to see. Anyone could go outside and paint the sun shining through the trees. His eyes trailed upon the perfect subject of his painting or rather the perfect portrait. His subject happened to be Ephraim and Eirika. They sat on a log as the sun enveloped them with its warmth in an almost ethereal manner.
“Ah yes, what a masterpiece!” He thought to himself as he laid out his art supplies that he secured that day. An easel, several bottles of paint, a canvas, a wooden palette, and a whole lot of brushes were purchased earlier in a town they were passing by. Each utensil was delicately wrapped in brown paper and tied with string. To others they would label them as expensive, but to Forde they weren't. That's just how hobbies are, expensive to some, but not to others.
Forde, humming a song that he didn't know but heard the others sing a dozen of times, set about setting up his station. First, he started by putting the canvas on the easel. Then he spread out his brushes and put his paints on his palette. Forde suddenly realized that he had no spare water other than what he was going to drink. He stared briefly at his cup of water. “Yeah, it'll do.” He mumbled to himself. He mixed a green and a yellow together and then proceeded to use his biggest brush to paint the top of the canvas. Using a darker green, Forde painted the grass and the shadows on the beginnings of the trees. Forde used a thin brush to add in the sun rays that bounced off the grass. For the logs and trees, he used a dark brown for the base and light brown for the closer to where the light danced upon them. Forde carefully painted the silhouettes of the royal twins by using a peach color. He dabbed on small, delicate blobs of turquoise and light teal for Eirika and Ephraim’s hair, respectively. For their outfits, he used reds, dark blues with hints of dark green, a light pistachio, golds, light brown, and silver. The finishing touches to his portrait was a blue and lilac butterfly as well as a family of four birds flying by. He gazed at his work, eyeing every little detail, to make sure nothing was missing. The portrait showed the twins cheerily chatting away. Ephraim was in the middle of talking, while Eirika held her hand up to cover her mouth as a laugh flew into the air. Forde had decided that he'd give his masterpiece to them when the war was over.
