The last few days have been a reminder to never get comfortable here. I let my guard down and my feelings got the best of me and paid for it in embarrassment and hurt. Why did I think giving him that letter was a good idea? I learned my lesson.

Rudolph approached me about it, I honestly thought he’d just ignore it. Embarrassed me in front of other’s and made me feel hurt and confused. I know he’s right. I know it would put us all in danger and it’s best to focus my efforts on ending Strahd. I know this is no place for trying to find love. I wasn’t trying to find it though.  To be honest, I’ve never truly loved anyone romantically before. I’ve had relationships, but I’ve never felt what others have described as love. People always described this feeling that I just didn’t understand. I’ve never felt anything like that. That was until I met him. What is wrong with me? I barely know him; how can I love him? I hate this so much. Why is my heart picking the worst possible time to feel this way?

Why did he berate me in front of everyone, but still find a way to confuse me? He said he was flattered; he gave me things as he left, and he’s been slightly different with me or am I thinking too much. My brain is so confused.

Brandy says she gets where he’s coming from and she’s right. I do too. I just wanted him to know someone cares for him.

I let Brandy sleep in the bed tonight. I wanted her to be comfortable with Blazer. It’s been so long since we’ve been back here. This tower feels like home. Part of me knows I also just wanted an excuse to sleep somewhere else tonight. I picked a spot closer to his desk. This is probably the closest I’ll get to sleeping next to him. He’s still awake as well, head deep in his writing as always. I truly wonder the last time he’s got a decent night’s sleep.

 I wonder if he knows I'm writing about him. I wonder if he knows how lovely he looks lit by the candlelight he uses at night. His words play back in my head, “an old, broken man flattered by your words.” When was the last time he was loved? Does he think he’s unlovable?

I promised him no matter his reaction to my letter I would continue to be by his side in the fight to end that monster of his reign. I will do just that. No matter what he’s a great ally and I don’t want us to disappoint him and Ez.  I want us all to be there when the light leaves that evil man’s eyes. I know we’re all scared, and we should be, but I truly believe if we find everything that we need to that we can end this. Free these people of the terror.

He fell asleep at his desk again. I do wish he’d sleep comfortably and not slumped over in that chair. He’s going to kill me if he knows it’s me, but I have an extra blanket I’m going to lay over him tonight. He’ll get over it. Time to get some rest and see what the next few days bring us in this hell.

I went a little ham with this one. Couldn't stop writing it seems, but here is a new blurb. [Steddie]

Eddie’s hip furiously blazed with a flash of stabbing pain. His joints had been bothering him underneath the scars left by the bats and their fucked up little teeth. The scarred flesh on his left hip was uncomfortably tight, pulled taut over his muscles and bones.

The damaged skin constricted his right shoulder, as though the skin would burst into a bleeding fissure with the tiny struggling breaths that Eddie was pushing through in labored waves. He was moments away from caving and taking a dosage of pills despite having agreed to take them less.

He felt as though his insides weren’t aware that he had been kept alive. It felt like his nerves had continued to decay turning into soaked cotton doused in kerosene with one little spark of discomfort able to render him incapacitated. 

Eddie shuffled to his phone with dread flooding through his system like an unprepared county during monsoon season. He knew that he had to call, but he was reluctant to do so. Even if he had been told it was no trouble, he knew it was more than it was worth.

He fidgeted, clenching his fingers around the coiled cord that connected the phone to the receiver. He dialed the numbers still imprinted in his brain from the day they had been hastily scribbled with a wolfish grin and intoxicating charm. The phone rang once, twice, three times, and Eddie began to put the phone back in its cradle when he heard a warm voice call out.

“Hello! This is Hawkins Physio Clinic, Dr. Harrington’s office. How may I help you?”

Eddie felt his face flush at the rush that hearing Steve’s voice gave him.

“Um H-hi,” Eddie coughed as he tried to clear the nervous lump from his throat,” Hey Steve.”

His words came out weak and nervous to his ears, he couldn’t imagine how it sounded to Steve.

Eddie could practically hear the grin that Steve was wearing through the phone.

“What can I do for you Eds,” Steve huffed out behind quiet chuckles.

Eddie tried to think before he spoke, but the words were flashing like the overwhelming neon signs that covered the porn capital of seemingly the world, Times Square. He continued to stumble through his words.

“Well, you said, uh,” his words were stubbornly refusing to come out of his mouth, thick with nerves,” you said if my joints were giving trouble, to call you.”

Eddie was not used to this. Asking for help was difficult and normally he wouldn’t ask, letting the issue fester, but he was dying. The pain was consistent and recurring. Somedays were good, but for the last week, he had mainly bad days filled with tears and laying on the floor praying for the pain to pass.

“I did say that. Are you finally taking me up on my offer? I’ve been told that I’ve got the magic touch.”

God, the cocky assurance in his voice was enough to make Eddie stand at attention in more ways than one, but another jolt of agony quickly snubbed that thought out.

“Fuck.”

It slipped past his lips before he could stop himself. His free hand gripped his thigh as he slid himself down to the ground waiting for the pain to pass. His breath was coming out short and a little frantic.

“Eddie, are you okay?”

Steve’s voice was warm and sweet like heated milk before bed as the cockiness dissipated, replaced with concern. Eddie wanted to answer, but the pain was crashing in waves and drowning him mercilessly. Still, he tries to answer.

“Ye-,” Eddie takes a deep breath in, feeling a few tears slip past his bottom eyelid,” Yeah, Steve. My nerves are just-”

Eddie breathes in again. He can’t stop the slew of pants leaving his lungs. 

“-misfiring. Just misfiring or whatever the fuck the doctor said,” he finally choked out, his voice tense and seizing with stress.

“I’ll be right there, okay? Just stay put.”

Eddie laughs at that although it comes out weak and soft.

“Where am I gonna go?”

“Oh shut up, you dork. You know what I mean.”

Eddie laughs a bit more before a groan leaves his lips at another jolt. He hears the click of disconnection and puts the phone down on the floor before laying on the tiles hoping for the chilly ceramic to ease the continuous, seizing torture. 

Eddie is still on the floor when a series of knocks echoes around him. Three rapid ones followed by four spaced out. Steve was here.

“It’s open,” Eddie calls out as he strains with tension.

Steve steps in and immediately heads to Eddie with graceful movements. Eddie looks at him through slitted eyes. Steve reaches down, pulling Eddie close, and murmuring sweet words to him. You’re so good, doing amazing, such a strong guy, so strong for me; flowing past his plush lips into Eddie’s ears.

A warm, secure, big hand grips Eddie’s hip as the palm presses down and drags his hip, resulting in a quick crack and Eddie feeling his joint loosen. Eddie pushed his face into Steve’s shoulder letting those hands massage his hip and the muscles surrounding it.

 God, Steve did have the magic touch, Eddie thought to himself with each warm bout of pressure. 

He let a sigh slip as those hands deviated to pop his shoulder before massaging the sore blades. He felt good, floaty in Steve’s care.

“There we go. Good job Eds. Always so good for me.”

Eddie feels his cheeks glow red as he tries not to think of the implications of those words. Eddie stays wrapped in Steve’s arms, comfortable.

“Thank you,” he stutters out with relief weighing his voice down.

Steve grins down at him with something akin to infatuation glimmering brightly in his gaze. Eddie couldn’t help but stare unabashedly at the pretty picture that Steve Harrington made. His warm brown eyes brimming with life. His little moles that were perfectly placed on his face as though planned. Those stupidly perfect, stupidly white teeth that Eddie had thought only possible in movies. Who could forget the hair? That stupidly styled mop of gorgeous mousy brown hair. Steve was stunning in Eddie’s eyes.

“If you really want to thank me, you could let me take you out this Saturday; see that new sequel to Alien?”

“You have the worst timing for things. Robin was right, you are a dingus,” Eddie teased, laughing at the way Steve looked away with a blush that went as far as the tips of his ears. 

“Shut up,” he grumbled out, squeezing Eddie just a little tighter. 

After Steve had finally collected himself, he looked at Eddie questioningly,” So? Are you letting me take you out?”

Eddie nodded with a grin, boyish and wide. 

Steve responded with a match grin and confirmation.

“It’s a date.”

These were for a tobimelo comic I was gonna make but I tried several times and couldn’t finish it (it was about Carmelo thinking and saying Tobi’s eyes were pretty then getting nervous and insulting him, Tobias gets mad and Carmelo freaks out. I didn’t get to draw this part but they calm down and Tobias confesses that his eyes used to be like Carmelo’s, Carmelo gets confused and Tobias tells him his eyes are pretty too. They get silent and blush, the end)

Jasmine was raised in a Dark Magic Coven in Boston, MA as a dark magic prodigy. Her father Silas Chamberlain created the Dark Coven as an off-the-record organization that operated against the Official Lunar Cove Coven and ended up turning himself into human prison in order to avoid dealing with the repercussions of the Council. But, still operates behind bars.

Your character is someone who is currently working for Silas. They could be a witch who was or still is a part of the Dark Coven who knew Jasmine growing up or your character could be a criminal (this would work for any species) who does odd tasks for Silas now and again (whether because they have been blackmailed into it, owe Silas themselves, or another reason). But, either way, they know of Jasmine’s existence and have come to Lunar Cove to monitor Jasmine and be there to make sure Jasmine follows through on the favor she owes her father when Silas comes to collect it. But, until then, they can live out their life as normal in LC. 

I could also imagine Jasmine not wanting anyone to know they know each other when your character comes to town and your character putting a rift into the fresh start Jasmine has been trying to create for herself since moving to Lunar Cove.

It’s funny rewatching something you’ve become very emotionally attached to two times in close proximity. So like, when Silas and I first watched Elisabeth the part that really broke me was Rudolph’s unanswered reprise of “Like You” from the opening, which she only acknowledges and responds to with the parent’s verse at his funeral. But when I watched it with Franz and the Wife Brigade I didn’t start crying until “Boats in the Night.” Which like, I realize they both share themes but there’s something about the couple being too old and stuck in their ways at this point to let go of what they’ve been through, of their personal hurts and remaining pride, to attempt to repair a relationship that never truly got to grow into something strong and supportive that just rends my heart in two.

Do you spend the 48 hours before D&D day listening to your ship playlist and scrolling pinterest, or are you normal?

Gods, I haven’t had the motivation to write since leaving The Amber Temple. So much has happened since then, and I think we’re finally ready as we’ll ever be to face the horrors of Ravenloft. With the best people I can think of by our side, I am trying to stay positive that we have a chance at ending all of this. A chance at freeing Barovia from the devil’s reign of terror.

Brandy wants everyone to stay positive and if she can convince Rudolph to calm down, then I must as well.

Speaking of Rudolph, something happened between us tonight, and I haven’t quite processed it and don’t really know what to make of it. Maybe it’s nothing beyond what it was. Maybe there’s more to be discovered. All I know is that tonight is the happiest I have been in a long time. Even before being trapped in the mists.

Honestly my mind kind of blanked, but we kissed, we actually kissed, and it felt so right. And now here he is sleeping in the chair next to me and while I’d maybe hoped he’d fill the empty space in my bed, I couldn’t be more content.

Tomorrow brings so much uncertainty, but one thing I am certain of is that I love this man dearly and will do everything I can to protect him. I will protect all of them. I’ll die before I see any of them get hurt.

WELCOME TO LUNAR COVE, RAE ELLE PARK

Once upon a time, there were two witches who met and fell in love. Park Jin and Grace Barkman were young, ambitious, passionate witches who wanted to be something greater than they already were. Together, they joined an up and coming coven headed by one Silas Chamberlain. Together, the two of them wanted to help change the world. If not for the better, then at least for the betterment of themselves and their new little family. 

This isn’t their story, nor is it a fairytale, but it’s important to get things set up. Jin and Grace got married, and it wasn’t a year later that they had a daughter, Rachel Ellen Su-Jin Park. They were young parents, but good parents, and they wanted a good life for their kid. As age brought experience, they started to wonder if Silas’s coven was best for them. Jin wondered if they should move back to his hometown of Lunar Cove, but there was also worry So they move back to Grace’s home of New Orleans, distancing themselves from the coven mile by mile. They wouldn’t pull out immediately; they’d give it time. With luck, by the time Rachel started to grow and become her own little person, they’d have pulled out completely. 

That didn’t happen because this isn’t a fairytale, and things are never easy. Something happened. Something terrible. There was a vampire attack, random and cruel, just as fate always is. Jin was killed, and Grace ended up being turned. This wasn’t something she knew how to handle on her own, and it wasn’t something she could just bring to her family. They’d welcomed her and her new husband back, even after they strayed, because of Rachel, now affectionately called Rae or Rae Elle. Grace knew, as a newly turned vampire, they’d take her kid. Maybe with good reason, but she couldn’t handle that. She’d just lost the love of her life, her magic, even her own life in a way; no one could take her kid from her, too. So Grace did the one thing she didn’t want to do: she went back to Boston, Rae in tow, hoping that she could get help for her new condition while keeping her daughter. 

This was how the first few years of Rae’s life were. She didn’t remember much of her father, and her memories of those few years in Boston were hazy, but things weren’t bad. She knew that much. Her mom was the best, and sometimes she got to play with kids her age, and Rae was still so young. It didn’t take Grace long to figure out how to control her vampiric urges, though the damage was done. She’d gone back to the coven, and now she needed them. Rae Elle was little, but she was already showing an aptitude for magic that had the capability to be incredible. Grace couldn’t teach Rae anymore, not in a practical way. So there would be no leaving the coven. 

Even still, once Grace had control, she and Rae Elle moved back down south. Grace wanted to be closer to home. Rae was still young, so the move wasn’t too bothersome. Rae grew up traveling through the south, from New Orleans to the Mississippi Delta to Memphis to the Smoky Mountains.She played in swamps, climbed mountains, swam in creeks and oceans. Every year, Rae got older, and every year, her mother didn’t. For anyone else, it might have been strange, but this was the only life Rae ever knew, and she was happy. Long stretches of peace were punctuated by the occasional visit to or visit from members of Silas’ coven. Sometimes, it was to help with Rae’s training. Other times, it was to test her abilities. Throwing rocks with her earth manipulation, controlling the quantity and volume of the voices from her audible inundation, and, occasionally, using her tracking abilities to help find someone. Grace allowed it, but only because there was no way she could avoid the coven. She owed them, now, and that was her debt to pay. No one had tried to force Rae into joining, and that was all that mattered.

As Rae Elle got older, she decided to spread her wings. She loved her mom, but she also wanted to experience life on her own. Visits from the coven became fewer and farther between, especially after Silas’ arrest, until eventually Rae wasn’t bothered anymore. That was just fine with her. She was making her own path in life. Her mother always said she was like sand: solid enough to stand strong but still capable of movement. She loved traveling, the wandering nature of her childhood becoming a staple for the rest of her life. She never considered herself a scholar, but she loved learning, and she loved growing things. She loved music. She enjoyed being around people and being kind, and life was beautiful. She’d wander around the country, staying in one place for a few months, working in plant nurseries or record stores, singing in coffee shops, making friends and falling in and out of love like it was breathing. People thought Rae was odd but sweet, eccentric but fun to be around. Every few months, she’d get back together with Grace, who she had grown older than, and it was bittersweet, but it would always be like coming home.

Until home was taken away from her. The entire supernatural community was under attack in February of 2023. The first thing Rae Elle did was get in touch with her mother. Grace was fine. Rae was fine. They agreed to meet up, regroup, and figure out where to go from there. They’d meet back in New Orleans. It should have been quick; Rae drove all through the night, her fingers clenched around the steering wheel. She was so close. She should have made it in time.

She did make it in time to watch hunters kill her mother. The last thing Grace ever told her daughter was to run, and Rae, feeling like a coward, ran. She regretted it ever since, but what else could she do? She felt alone in the world, a new kind of bitterness taking root in her. Her mother had never wanted Rae to go back to their old coven, but she didn’t know what else to do. She needed help. She wanted to make the people that hunted down supernaturals hurt. So, Rae Elle joined the coven. She didn’t know how to feel about it; there wasn’t any sort of connection, any sort of kinship or found family that settled into place. It was just a means to an end. And Rae tried to keep up appearances, tried to cling to the happy woman she’d been, free and easy-going and always ready to help someone struggling to smile. 

But she was struggling, too, and she couldn’t find a way to help herself. She thought getting more involved in the coven would help. She thought helping Silas would help. She thought killing hunters, bleeding herself and them and causing pain and feeling it, all of it, would help. God, she wanted it to help. If she just kept trying, dammit, maybe it’d help. 

Rae did as she was told for the next few months, a model coven member. So, when she was told to head to Lunar Cove, to watch after Jasmine Chamberlain, no longer a Chamberlain, and wait for Silas’ next order, Rae made the move. She found a job, a place to stay, and started making herself at home. Lunar Cove was a nice place. Perhaps, if life had been kinder, she’d have ended up in Lunar Cove before, joined the coven there, and been a contributing member of society. As it was, Rae Elle didn’t see herself as bad. Dealt a bad hand, maybe. Having to do bad things, definitely. But she saw it as a means to an end. The world was full of terrible things. At least she wasn’t doing anything with terrible intentions. She just wanted the world to be a better place, one where folks weren’t killed because of who they were. Joining Silas’ coven was the most proactive way that she knew how to do that. It might have been the wrong choice, but Rae didn’t feel like she had a lot of options. Now, as the world seemed to be caving in, it still felt like that.
