Can you imagine early mornings with Shuri? Waking her up with kisses and making breakfast for her while she sits and watches you
This is literally just me confessing my love for tita, i also went a little left with the request but same concept 🫶🏾
Tumblr media
The sounds of people talking outside your window was the only thing you could hear so early in the morning. Your eyes blinked tiredly as you woke into consciousness and became aware of your surroundings. It was completely pitch black dark aside from the little bit of sunlight peeking through a sliver in between the curtains, and your girlfriend laid up against your front. A scarf tied on her head with an oversized white frankenstine’s wife sweatshirt adorning the rest of the sleeping beauty.
You couldn’t imagine being anywhere other than tangled up in bed with the love of your life. Leaning close you placed small kisses trailing up from her shoulder right up her neck and under her jaw. “Well isn’t this a surprise.”
Her voice rasps as she turns slightly towards you giving you access to her lips which you accepted happily. “I missed you,” You confused, pulling away from your girlfriend with your eyes still focused on her lips.
“Miss me, when? We went to bed together.” Your eyes filtered up to her eyes where your heart felt like it was going to explode with how much you loved her.
She was absolutely breathtaking, and too kind for her own good, but her laugh was mesmerizing and everything about her made you want to just sit and stare at her forever.
“Marry me.” Shuri’s eyebrows jumped up towards her forehead in surprise at the big question you had just dropped. You could tell by the look on her face she wanted to laugh because there was no way in hell you were actually being serious, but she caught herself when she truly looked at you and found only fondness in your eyes. “Y/n.. this is a really big thing you know tha-”
“It doesn’t have to be legalized with some papers by an old white man, shit there doesn’t even have to be rings. But I want you to know that this is how much I love you. That I'm in this forever, princess.” Shuri’s eyes began to water slightly as she quickly wiped them away knowing if she let them fall they’d never stop. “Ngunaphakade?” (Forever?)
“Ngunaphakade.” you whispered, taking her hand and placing a kiss atop her knuckles. A moment of silence went by the two of you looking at each other with nothing other than love. Until Shuri nods. And it’s as if time stops. Instantly your lips are on hers while your hands go to either side of her face.
After a lot of kissing and a bit of feeling over the clothes, Shuri pulls back her eyes flitting between your eyes and lips. “Well don’t be rude, make your fiance a breakfast fit for the queen.” You chuckle leaning in for one more kiss before pulling back and getting out of your shared bed.
“As you wish, my love.”
You stood at the stove watching the pancakes and waiting to flip them patiently. They were Shuri’s favorite food from America and the only thing she’d eat when you first began dating, that was until you introduced her to Pizza, then that became her favorite.
Standing at the stove you tried to wrap your head around the fact that you’re engaged to the love of your life, and how marriage hadn’t been a big thought in your mind until you woke up and had decided this was how you wanted to wake up every day.
Arms wrapped around your waist freeing you of your thoughts. “I have missed your pancakes,” Shuri admitted into your back as her hands rubbed up and down your sides. “I’ll make them everyday for you then.”
“No no no, not everyday. Only sometimes.”

You fucked that girl that you met at the party I got some new niggas down in the lobby, How can I sleep when you're out catchin' bodies? I still wanna be with you, trust me, I know that's insane...
i got this idea while listening to telekenesis,n i just got a random urge to write asap. i suggest that yall should while reading too! this is gonna be short and defo not sweet. mentions of sex, angst and argument incoming... and yes i did put random lyrics in some parts just bc 😭 You pull up the mirror in your friends car, looking at yourself once more before you went into the mansion which you were parked right beside. The bass of afrobeats and dancehall practically made the house shake. Of course, you didnt want to actually be there. You'd rather be with your girlfriend. Though she was still on that business trip..it somehow got longer by two days?
you missed her. you wanted to hug her, you wanted to kiss her, you wanted to... "Ready to go, mama?" Ashanti said, in the drivers seat, looking at you. She parted her full glossy lips as she waited for a response. Ashanti has been one of your closest friends for over a while now-even before Shuri entirely. "yeah." you utter back, as you dust the top of your all black outfit. you pull the mirror back up and step out of the car, your knee high boots clacking as you walk. you smooth your hair down before sighing, glancing at ashanti and walking in together. Once you walked in, the smell of drugs, alcochol and many kinds of other things filled your sense of smell. you really hadn't been at a party in a while. And you wanted to keep it that way. But ashanti just kept pushing so you just gave in. Plus, you didnt want to be ruin the fun of course. You take a seat on one of the couches, one leg on top of the other. "I'm gonna get us some drinks." ashanti grins, and you nod with a smile. once her back turns your smile fades. You begin to observe the environment you are in. Flashing led lights, loud music. you look around to see people smoking in one corner, drinking in another, and people socialising everywhere. you realise your body is tense, and you try to make yourself just..relax. You drop your shoulders and take a breath, trying to enjoy yourself. You missed your Shuri and all, but you had to just let go, like your best friend had said to you earlier on. you see Ashanti in the corner of your eye, and you turn to her and smile. She hands you your drink. "Thank you love." you say. "no problem." she replies. You take a sip of your drink, and you scrunch your nose up as the liqour burns your throat. "what is this?" you ask. "just drink, girl." she laughs. you shake your head as you chuckle, glancing at the doorway leading to the upstairs of the luxorious mansion.
you then see someone walk past, the sharp jawline caught your eye in the midst of all the flashing strobe lights. You noticed their undercut and their prada shades. almost like shuri? what the fuck? your smile turns to a frown and you whip out your phone instantly, turning it on and typing in shuri's contact. you: where are you rn?
delivered
Your brows furrow. Maybe you were just being stupid right? these lights are pretty bright..so..maybe you just confused someone else for her? thats probably it. calm down, yn. you thought as you switch your phone off. "Yn? yn? helloooo?" ashanti repeats, tapping you. "what? sorry, i thought i saw shuri." you let out a chuckle. "where?" she raises her brows, looking through the big crowd. "No, no..its nothing. im probably just tripping. not the liqour hitting." you laugh it off. Ashanti cackles along with you, slapping your shoulder.
Soon, you find yourself lost in the party, drinking, dancing and chopping it up with some others. you were even feeling the effect of the liquor, weirdly, you were always the sober one. you're laughing with ashanti once again, until you hear the intro of unforgettable. You gasp. "this is my song!" you squeal, pulling your friend up by the arm as you both make your way to the dance floor. You loose yourself to the flow of the music, and find yourself actually having fun..for the first time in a while now-without shuri. Ashanti wraps her hands around your waist as you dance, as you are recording on your phone lipsyncing to the lyrics.
in the distance, you see a head pull through the crowd, similar to who you saw earlier, and your eyes widen but you ignore it this time. You're not going to let that ruin your night. Shuri would never lie to you. You trust her beyond a hundered percent. Later, you're playing truth or drink with two girls you and ashanti had met here, at the party. you couldn't even count how many hours you were here. Honestly, it was lit and you didn't care. You down another shot, and you feel the burn in your throat for the millionth time tonight, but you're somewhat used to it now. "damn." you mutter, as you scrunch your nose. after a few more rounds, you feel the need to go to the bathroom. "I'm going to the bathroom, i'll be right back." You say, getting up. "you want me to go with you?" ashanti offers. "no thanks. im good." you smile, before turning on your heel and making your way there. you open many doors, but cant seem to find it. "Hey, you know where the bathroom is?" you ask a person standing around. "i think its right there." they point to the door down the hall. You smile and nod. "Thank you." you make your way there, and open the door with a click. This, in fact, was not the bathroom. your eyes widen as you see a girl sitting on the edge of the bed, as someone was drowned between her thighs. Looked just like the girl you saw earlier. "S..shuri.." the girl lets out a breathy moan as she grips the sheets of the bed, and the person on her knees hums against her, still between her legs. your whole body turns cold, and suddenly the music stops and you stand there, frozen. You couldn't believe what you were seeing and you prayed it wasn't real. all the Alcohol leaves your body so fast, like you had never even been drinking in the first place. Shuri is supposed to be miles away from here. she is miles away.
"you like that baby?" the person under her uttered, her thick wakandan accent present. Fuck. your mouth slightly drops open, and you turn on your heel, making a sound, leaving as quick as you came, leaving the door wide open. you quickly walk away from the scene, and blink back tears. you had to get out of here, fast. suddenly, you feel a familiar grasp grab your wrist. you turn to see who you wished and hoped it wasnt who you thought it was. "yn? how long had you been standing there? when did you get here?" she asks.
"Long enough to know that you're a liar and a cheat! i should be asking you when you got here!" you pull away from her grasp and take a step back. "You fucking lied to me! you told me you were out of the country for longer. why?" you suck in a breath, trying to blink back tears.
"I..." "I dont even want to hear your lame ass excuse." you laugh bitterly. "I cant believe this right now, I...three years down the drain. Three! for some girl that you met at a stupid house party." Your voice wavers, and you take another step back. "it was a mistake. she means nothing." shuri takes two steps closer to you, and suddenly you find yourself turning around and leaving. fast walking through the crowds of drunks as your throat begins to grow a sharp pain, and your lips tremble as you try to hold back a sob. You're startin' fresh, man, you fell out of pocket You fucked that girl that you met at the party...

Crush (Shuri x Reader)
You had just finished cleaning your room when your doorbell rang. Your friend Shuri stood at your door.
“Hey,” You both said.
Her eyes held yours sincerely. “Sorry for just popping up.” She knew you weren’t a fan of surprise visits. What she didn’t know, however, was you didn’t mind if it was her. She smiled at you appreciatively when you welcomed her inside. “So what were you up to before I came?” She looked at you curiously as she sat down on the loveseat.
“Just cleaning. Was about to shower, you know how it is.”
“Oh, you were doing a deep clean.” The pair of you chuckled. “You go do what you need to do. I’ll be here.”
“Make yourself at home, okay?”
Around twenty minutes later, you returned to Shuri, who was watching Rush Hour. You smiled in amusement. “Ha, a throwback.”
“My brother liked this movie,” Shuri shared.
“Oh, yeah? He has good taste.” In more ways than one, you thought.
Shuri smirked.
“What?” You dragged out. You pretended not to know that she was most likely thinking about your crush on Nakia.
“What did I tell you, Y/N? Never gonna happen.”
“Didn’t you play matchmaker for Riri?”
“Yeah…”
“So why can’t you do that with me and Nakia?”
Shuri rolled her eyes. “What makes you think she’d be interested?”
“Wow, what is that supposed to mean, Shuri?”
Shuri closed her eyes momentarily, shaking her head. “No, I didn’t mean it like that. I wasn’t trying to offend you.”
“Well, I’m offended.”
“I’m just saying that Nakia is focused on her and Toussaint. I’m not even sure she wants to move on.”
“Unless she specifically told you she’s not interested in me, you can’t assume.”
Shuri caught your icy tone. “If it’s that important, you can reach out to her yourself.”
“Maybe I will.”
“Great.”
To say the room was stuffed with tension would be an understatement. You didn’t understand Shuri’s problem. She’d known of your interest in Nakia and had the means to connect you both, yet there had been no action taken on her part.
“What, do you think I’m overstepping ‘cause she was your brother’s love?”
Your heart started to race. For some reason, you hoped this wasn’t an issue for Shuri.
Surprisingly, Shuri gave a light chuckle. “Nah.”
You raised an eyebrow, expecting her to continue, only to receive silence. She turned to look at you. Her stare was the strongest it’d ever been, which said a lot. Shuri typically made vivid eye contact anyway. “I just rememberedI have a meeting to prepare for. Good night, Y/N.”
Since when does Shuri forget she has meetings?
You frowned. “Oh, okay. Good night. Get home safe.”
Figuring she didn’t want to stay because of the little argument you just had, you let it go.
She thanked you and let herself out.
~~
The next day during your lunch break, you went out to eat with Riri. She worked at the same company as you but in the tech division. You were discussing how your schedules were so hectic that at times lunch wasn’t a priority. You both vowed to change that as it was unhealthy and unfair.
“Like Nicki Minaj said, he can tell I ain’t missing no meals. That’s the energy I need to be on,” Riri declared.
“I know that’s right!”
Your conversation caught the attention of a woman who looked amused. You froze when you realized it was Nakia. She gave you a lovely smile. Did Shuri finally tell her about you?
She eventually looked away, paying attention on the line she occupied to either place her order or pick it up.
Your eyes widened as you looked at Riri. “Did you see that?”
“I did.”
“I have to talk to her. It’s my chance. Right?”
Riri twisted her lips to the side and slowly shrugged. “I mean, I guess.”
“It’s a sign,” You insisted in a more serious tone than you’d intended.
“Okay,” she said, leaning back some.
You smiled at her, not wanting her to take your behavior wrong. “Wish me luck.”
Riri watched you amble to the line in hopes of landing Nakia’s attention once more. You were nervous but the smile Nakia had sent you was encouraging.
“Hello,” You greeted, causing Nakia to lock eyes with you.
She smiled again. “Hi.”
“You’re Nakia, right?”
“Yes…and who are you?”
“I’m Shuri’s friend.”
Her demeanor relaxed. “Oh! Okay, that’s nice.” She quickly checked you out. “How are you?”
“Good, good, do you like the movies?”
There was a pause that almost made you want to sink into the floor.
“As in going to the cinema? I do…one second, that’s my food.” She held up a finger and walked up to the counter to collect her order. You nodded and moved out the way so the next person could get on line. Nakia checked her bag to ensure her complete order was there. Satisfied, she walked over to you. “Okay, you were saying?”
“Would you like to go to the movies and have dinner this week?”
Nakia stared at you causing you to blush.
“I’m sorry,” You said and walked away, accepting the situation.
“Hey, wait.” You turned around to meet her eyes. “Which friend are you?”
“You mean, my name?” You asked, needing clarity.
She nodded once and you told her.
Nakia wore a half-smile. “I’m sorry, I can’t. But thank you.” She squeezed your shoulder. “You have a good one.”
You avoided eye contact with Riri when you returned to your booth.
“You okay?” She said.
You flipped your hand. “I’m a big girl. I can take rejection.”
Riri just looked at you with a sympathetic smile.
“Shuri was right,” You realized, poking at your food. “She knew.”
“Knew what?”
“She knew Nakia would say no. I think she was actually trying to protect me. Not that I need protection, but to spare my feelings.” You shook your head with a dry laugh. “She was trying to tell me.”
“Trying to tell you what?” Riri tilted her head some.
Your shrug looked careless though the opposite was true. You definitely cared. “I guess that Nakia wasn’t interested.”
Riri hummed and there were a few beats before she spoke again. “Y/N, this wasn’t really my place to say something, but you just look so sad right now…”
“I do?”
“Like a little puppy…yeah, so I’mma say it. The reason Shuri didn’t want to set you up with Nakia is because she wants you. And she might’ve told Nakia.”
You furrowed your eyebrows. “…Did Shuri tell you this?”
“Yes, why do you think I introduced you?”
“Because we were both at your house?”
Riri laughed. “Man, you can be clueless sometimes. Not only that, Y/N. I was trying to hook y’all up! She hooked me up with my boo and I wanted to return the favor. Shuri acts like she’s in a relationship with that lab of hers. Plus, after everything she’s been through and still goes through, I wanted her to be happy.”
“And you picked me?”
“Yeah, Y/N. Not only are you beautiful, you would treat her right, and bring joy to her life. I know it ‘cause you bring it to mines.” She smiled. “I knew y’all would be good for each other. But then you started going on about Nakia.”
As you listened to Riri, you found yourself in awe. You recalled when you and Shuri first met. You’d found her attractive from the start. She was the kind of beauty that left people mesmerized.  But her looks were the least of it. The woman was badass. It was kind of intimidating.
“This is crazy…did Shuri tell you this?”
“Yes, she’d seen you checking Nakia out and heard you calling her hot. It made her  back off.”
“She gave up that easy?”
“She’s sensitive like that.”
“Wow. Truthfully, I thought she only saw me as a friend. I didn’t think she was into me in that way.”
“She was and still is.”
“Was she hurt by my interest in Nakia?”
“I wouldn’t say hurt, but a little annoyed. I think you should talk to her for yourself. I mean, do you like Shuri?”
“I mean, yeah. She’s extraordinary yet down to earth and funny. And she’s obviously not bad on the eyes.”
“And rich. Very rich.”
You playfully rolled your eyes. “Since we’re being honest…I was insecure about her status. I just didn’t think I would fit in with her world. You see the shit they put Meghan Markle through?”
Riri laughed for a good several seconds. “Y/N.”
“I know, I know, it’s not completely the same, just the royal aspect. I’ll talk to her, though.”
“Good.” Riri smiled again.
~~
“Y/N Y/LN is here,” The Griot alerted Shuri.
She quirked an eyebrow and upon hearing the doors part, and turned around to watch you enter her premises.
“Hey, figured I’d pop on you next,” You said with a smile.
Shuri matched your expression. “It’s only fair, right?”
You tried not to stare too hard. She was looking scrumptious—no cannibalism. And she wanted you. Or so Riri said.
“Did you have dinner yet?” You asked, ending the comfortable silence.
“No. I’m not really hungry yet. Why?” She folded her arms, studying you. “You must be hungry.”
“I am.” She didn’t know you were referring to her, though.
She laughed. “You can leave with me. My chef usually starts cooking around this time.” You watched her hungrily as she had The Griot clear the lab before you two left.
“So how are you?” She asked as you walked the home area of the palace.
“Besides hungry? Good. And enlightened. Very enlightened.” Your eyes trailed her tall frame. She motioned for you to hurry up and continue. “I just learned some interesting information. I need to hear it from the horse’s mouth first.”
Shuri looked confused. “Are you talking about me?” Her confusion grew as you laughed. She playfully bumped into you. “Weirdo.”
You let her walk ahead of you and smacked her ass.
She gasped.
“That’s what you get,” You replied.
“Oh, yeah?” She lifted you over her shoulder.
You squealed at first and was about to command her to put you down until you thought better of it. “Is this my payback? Thanks for the lift.”
She dropped you on the couch in one of the rooms that contained floor to ceiling windows. You glared at her. “Hey!”
She chuckled at you and walked out the room. After a bit, you adjusted yourself and got up, taking in the gorgeous view.
“What enlightened you?”
Shuri suppressed her amusement as you jumped up at the sound of her voice.
“You know I hate when you do that,” You complained. Although you enjoyed how she’d looked in the long-sleeved jumpsuit, she looked just as good in her sweats and T-shirt. And she smelled so fresh and clean as she sat next to you.
You suddenly were feeling a little shy. Kind of like when you first talked to each other. Finding someone else attractive made it easier to engage with her. However, with the bust of the Nakia crush and the discovery of Shuri’s crush on you, she was the only person you found desirable now.
“Maybe you should pay better attention to your surroundings,” she suggested.
You shoved her arm without force, amusing her. “Do you want me to answer your question or not?”
“Sheesh…go on.”
“I saw Nakia today.”
You saw Shuri’s expression jump into a forced blank one. “Oh.”
“Mhm. I asked her out.”
“And?”
“It was a no-go.”
Shuri nodded knowingly.
“You were right,” You said, laughing some. “She didn’t want me.”
Shuri looked at you.
“I should have listened,” You continued.
“It’s her loss.”
You arched a brow. “Is it now? How so?”
She smirked. “You’re just fishing for compliments.”
“Compliments from you.”
You caught her off guard there.
She played with her hands, her legs opening and closing back and forth, the movement, making your legs press next to each other. She cracked a smile. “Y/N, if she can’t see that you’re special, then that’s on her.”
“Awww, Shuri.”
“Let me check on the food.” She started to get up, but you stopped her, touching the soft skin of her toned arm. She didn’t protest.
“Can I ask you something?” You asked close to her ear.
You noticed her cheeks flame through her melanated skin. She nodded and glanced at you.
“Did you tell Nakia to reject me?”
You were unfazed as Shuri acted like your question was absurd. “What?” She laughed.
“No, Y/N, I did not.”
“Okay. Did you tell her you like me?”
Silence swallowed the room. You and Shuri held a staring contest.
“Did she tell you?” She finally spoke.
You shook your head no. “Riri did.”
Shuri sighed. She didn’t care to be found out like this, though she supposed she understood Riri’s rationale.
“It’s not her fault. She said it wasn’t her place, but felt like I needed to know. And I agree.”
Shuri looked ahead of her.
“Shuri, you can be honest with me.”
“What exactly did Riri tell you?”
You filled her in as she listened attentively. “Yes, it’s true. I thought we had potential,  but then you showed interest in Nakia. So I didn’t think you wanted anything beyond a friendship with me.”
“Wait ’til you hear my side. I was actually intimidated.”
“Why?!”
“Shuri, you can’t act like you don’t know you intimidate people. Not with you being royalty and a genius and gorgeous…”
The smile on her face made you melt.
“You didn’t act intimidated at all,” She said.
“I need my Oscar.” You both laughed. “I really was. I did think Nakia was a looker ‘cause she clearly is, but it was also a distraction or a cover, you could say.”
“Are you sure it was a cover? It seemed legit to me.”
“Again, I need an Oscar. Or an Emmy.”
“You need Shuri,” she mumbled.
“What was that?” You tried not to smile.
She smirked and got up, but instead of stopping her, you chased her. You started tickling her and she grabbed your hands in one hand, holding them over your head. “Shuri,” you protested.
“Yes, say my name.”
That produced a jolt in your nether regions. It was like honey running through your bits. Adding to the sensation was the look in her eyes. She almost looked turned on.
“I think you want me to be rough with you.”
Shuri grinned when your eyes closed. Your orbs displayed again when she led you against the wall.
“Show off,” You jokingly scoffed.
“Watch what you say…I already like the look of you tied up.”
“So you’re a freak-freak?”
Shuri just chuckled, but it sounded sultry. This woman was going to be the death of your body. “Wouldn’t you like to know?” She glared at you lustfully. Shuri eyed you like she wanted to do very inappropriate and explicit things with you.
“Miss Udaku, the food is ready,” the chef announced.
You had to catch your breath as the Queen slowly released your hands.
“Thank you, Diallo. Come on, Y/N, let’s eat.”
Like nothing happened, she went into the kitchen and fixed a plate. You had to gather yourself for a moment. When you finally stepped into the kitchen, a smiling Shuri handed you a plate full of just the right amounts. Then she turned to make her own.
You headed to the table only for Shuri to stop you. Instead, she wanted to eat at the coffee table. The floor was already comfortable due to the majestic furry rug. Cushions for your bottoms were provided anyway. When this arrangement proved to be more intimate, you understood her decision.
For a while, you didn’t speak. The food was that good. It was doing a decent job of distracting you from your hormones.
“I don’t even need to ask if you like the food,” Shuri said laughingly, earning narrowed eyes from you.
“I do like it. It’s not like you cooked it.”
You found yourself running as Shuri seemed ready to pounce.
“Child! You are a child!” She called.
You ended up in her spacious, clean, captivating room. Take it in you could not  becauseshe launched you into her arms and tossed you on the bed.
“You think…you can…insult me…in my house?” She restrained your arms with one hand again, tickling you with the other.
Maybe it was the tension between you, your attraction to her (that was mutual), or the eagerness for her to stop tickling you (despite you enjoying her hands on you), but you  bit her neck.
Shuri froze and you smiled to yourself. It worked for she ended her ministrations.
“Did you just bite me?” She asked the obvious.
“And?”
She hid her face in your stomach but you’d caught her smile. She nuzzled your stomach before planting a lingering kiss on the middle of it. It felt natural. You refused to stop her and prayed she wouldn’t.
She did, though.
You frowned and she mockingly cooed at you. She laid a kiss on your neck. “You see? This is how you treat skin.” She smiled at your laughter.
“Show me again?”
Heat. That’s what you two were providing.
Shuri leaned down, crushing your lips together. You immediately wrapped your hands along her back and sides. She gently licked your lip and you parted your mouth for her. A moan escaped you as she sucked your tongue. The kiss was eager, messy, and pussy-dripping.
“I really like you, Shuri,” You said, caressing her nape.
She looked straight into your eyes. A hope glimmered in them. “Are you sure? ‘Cause I’m nothing like Nakia.”
You smiled, bringing her into another kiss. “I know. I don’t want you to be. I just want you.”
She reached into your neck now, nuzzling. “I’ve wished for this.”
You tugged on her curls and she gave you a kiss that had you drenching your undergarments. From this day forward, you were hers.

You felt a warm pair of lips press tenderly against your skin, traveling along your arm, inching towards your sleeping face. The sun streamed in through the floor to ceiling windows, flooding the queen’s quarters with the white gold of its light. Shuri was always up and ready to greet the day before you. “Morning has arrived, sthandwa wami,” the raspy voice of your lover roused you from your rest. My love.
“Tell it to go away,” you mumbled, shuffling underneath the satin sheets, finding warmth in her embrace. There was no place you’d rather be than in her arms. Behind closed doors, Shuri was yours and yours alone. Her title didn’t follow her here. During moments like this, she was simply a woman trying to wake her girlfriend.
Shuri grazed the tips of her fingers across the flesh of your thigh. Her touch left a trail of fire in its wake. She slipped under the band of your lace panties, quickly pulling and letting it snap. The smirk spread was sly as you jerked slightly. “It's past time we got up. Besides, my arm is going numb.”
“Ow! Fine. Fine. I'm awake.” Finally, you relinquished her arm from your capture, sighing long and deep at the loss of your pillow. The queen chuckled as she untangled the rest of your limbs with no help from your limp body.
“Griot?” Shuri spoke to the empty air.
“Good morning, your majesty.”
The covers fell from her body, displaying the sculpted bronze planes of her bare back. You sat up to admire the view. All those years of agonizing pining were worth it, you thought. “What's on the schedule today?”
The disembodied AI listed both yours and the queen’s agenda. You planned a relaxing, stress free day in the studio for yourself. The queen on the other hand was expected by the elders.
It took everything in you to leave the comfort of Shuri’s enormous sized bed and make the cold trek to the bathroom. You turned on the shower, periodically checking its temp then stripped the little clothing you had on. “Are you going to join me?” you asked, leaning back to peer through the open door to see her staring at her kimoyo beads. “I thought I was the slow one.” The water from the rain drip head cascaded down the length of your body, effectively chasing away the rest of your drowsiness.
Two tattooed arms draped around your shoulders. “I am here.” The stealth of the Panther often took you by surprise. The feeling of Shuri’s touch against yours was indescribable. Nothing could compare. You’d hardly noticed the soft beat of your shared playlist began to play.
She took it upon herself to lather shea body wash across your skin, talking sweet nothings in your ear while christening you with chaste kisses along the way. “Do you have time for lunch today?” you leaned back to gaze into the depths of her onyx eyes, your own hopeful.
“I will make time.”
“Griot, don’t let her forget.”
“I won't, miss.”
“You don’t trust me?” she teased, tilting your head further back, leaving suds across your cheek.
You turned around to face her, eyebrow raised. “Hhayi.” No. Your response was straight forward, yet remained light hearted. She was working herself ragged these days, barely taking time to rest. More than once you found her in the lab, lids heavy, back hunched uncomfortably over her work station. “I know you too well to leave you be. You stand me up, I'm coming to snatch your ass.” The running water did nothing to drown out your shared laughter. She knew you meant it.
You grabbed Shuri’s soap and washed her in return down the valley of her breasts to the toned abs of her torso. Each stroke carried your love. “I'm serious, though. Take a break sometime today,” you added. Caring for her was an honor. Bast knew she wouldn’t if it were solely up to her.
The Panther ceased your motions by grasping your hand in her own. “I promise.” She closed the already small distance between you, brushing the tip of your nose, “I appreciate your concern for me. I don't deserve—”
You promptly shushed her with your own lips. Her taste was irresistible, uniquely Shuri’s. No one in Wakanda could get away with interrupting the queen except you. “None of that. You deserve plenty.”
Her arms snaked around your waist, feeling your natural contours, finding a place within the slope of your neck. Heady breaths stuck to the droplets dancing on your skin. She stilled to cherish this moment, already beginning to dread having to part. “I'm just blessed to have you.”
“And I you.” You gave her one last peck on the cheek before turning the shower off. “You’re ntomb’am. While you’re going out there to save the world or whatever, I’ll be here for you.” My girl.
“The legendary Black Panther’s protector,” she laughed, guiding you out of the stand-in. “It has a nice ring to it. My enemies will fear you.” She might’ve thought it was funny, but you couldn’t find the humor. Shuri was your intombi, your girl. What you wouldn’t give for the promise of more sunshine-flavored mornings like these.

Working in the lab everyday meant keeping a level head while working alongside Shuri. THE princess of Wakanda. The woman who also happens to be your childhood crush. T'Challa was the first person to take notice of your infatuation with the princess. Being like an older brother you never had, he would always poke fun at you and tell you that the two of you belonged together. He would tell you about how she would talk about you all day. What you did together. The ideas you shared. You never took anything he said seriously until the snap happened. He was gone. She was gone. Turned to dust right in front of you when you stayed late in the lab one night. You remember that night as if it was yesterday's nightmare.
T'Challa has convinced you to tell her how you felt so you purposely stayed in the lab after your day was over to spend time with her. Little did you know a battle would sweep over Wakanda and you had to do your best to assist the princess in dissecting the soul stone. The enemy had broken through to the lab and Shuri grabbed her gauntlet and tried to fight them off but was knocked unconscious. You stood your ground and let Vision take the fight outside before moving to her side.
"Something doesn't feel right." She mumbled and you grabbed her face, checking for a high temp. What caught your eye was the way her shoulder began to crumble away before you. Your eyes went wide as more of her started to disappear and you froze not knowing what to do.
"Shuri. What's-" the words came out as incoherent mumbles and she quickly grabbed onto your arms.
"I don't know. Y/N what's happening to me." You held her close with tears running down your face, not knowing what's going on or what to do.
"No, don't go! Don't leave me!" But it was too late, she was completely gone and you let out a painful scream causing Queen Ramonda to rush to the lab. The two of you mourned together, not knowing if she would come back. Not fully understanding what exactly happened. You didn't step foot in the lab for years. You tried to be strong and grieve silently. Knowing the queen was hurting even more, now that both of her children are gone. Steve Rogers came to you with a plan to bring everyone back and he along with the surviving avengers succeeded. You didn't know until you finally walked into the lab with the intention to clean it up.
"You're cleaning? Wow all it took was me disappearing from the face of the earth." A voice joked and you turned to see her standing there with T'Challa. You dropped everything and ran into her arms, hiding your face in her neck. T'Challa couldn't hide the grin that appeared on his lips as he watched the two of you. You didn't let go or say anything when she hugged you back. That felt like so long ago now. You hadn't even realized your mind shifted to the past until a hand was waving in front of your face.
"Hello! Earth to Y/N? Stay with me woman." Shuri laughed and you quickly regained your posture as she stared down at you. She had grown a bit taller so now you look up at her slightly. "Did you even hear a word I said?"
"I'm here. Something crossed my mind is all." You told her as you gathered the papers on the desk. The two of you had a meeting with queen Ramonda and she had requested you bring the schematics for the Dora Milaje's new weapon ideas.
"Something big enough to completely block what I was saying?" She grinned and you shook your head trying to hide the smile of your own.
"I didn't completely block you out." You retorted and she crossed her arms, not believing you for a second. "Really? Then please tell me what I said." You froze and she couldn't help the laugh that shook her form.
"I knew it!" You playfully pushed past her, making your way to the elevator as your cheeks started to heat up. She swiped up her folder before following your steps to the door. You pressed the down arrow and waited till you heard the noise announcing it arrived. Stepping inside you stood side by side as the doors closed and you began your descent to the throne room. Or so you thought. The elevator jerked slightly and you felt nervousness in the pit of your stomach.
"Oh come on. Griot, can you get the elevator working?" The princess exclaimed as you tried to keep your cool. You and confined spaces don't mix. Even with someone else there with you.
"Working on it right away princess."
"Hey let go of the files. You're going to crush the papers." She laughed but her joke went through one ear and out of the other. She noticed you didn't relax your grip and moved a bit closer to you. "Y/N?"
"Huh? Sorry it's just that I don't do well in tight spaces." You told her as your mind ran through every possible way you could die in an elevator. "You've never told me that." You could help the way your eyes fluttered closed as you leaned onto the wall.
"We'll be okay dearest. Griot will get us out in no time." She said and you held the folder tightly to your chest. As if to make sure your heart does leap out of it. "Y/N?" You heard her call your name but your chest tightened and you felt yourself starting to hyperventilate. Shuri pulled you closer to her as she grabbed the files away from your hands. She leaned her forehead against your own as she instructed you to take deep breaths.
"Breath with me. Okay? It's easy. Just take deep breaths." Your breathing levels slowly as you hold onto her arm. Her hands were on each side of your face as she helped you calm down. When your eyes fluttered open, you weren't expecting her to be so close and you suddenly froze. "See. You're okay." Her eyes never left yours until they flickered down to your lips. Your body started to heat up with the sudden closeness and you gently squeezed your legs together.
"Shuri." You said barely above a whisper. Like a silent invitation her lips crashed into yours and you felt the weight lift off of your shoulders as she tilted her head to deepen the kiss. You haven't even realized the elevator was moving until the doors opened giving Okoye an eye full of her nation's princess making out.
"It is about time you made a move princess. Although in an elevator?" She grinned as Shuri slowly pulled away. The evident question floating around the two of you as you stared up at her. What does this mean for your friendship? Your body suddenly felt hot and you excused yourself out of the elevator to your room. You didn't even make it to the throne room as you originally intended. You shut the door but before it could click shut a hand stopped it. Shuri poked her head in the doorway and you immediately began apologizing before she could say anything.
"I'm so sorry. Shuri. I shouldn't have done that." She leaned against the door fidgeting with her kimoyo bracelet.
"Was it that bad?" You were taken aback and felt your cheeks heat up.
"Bad? No, it was amazing. The best kiss I could ever have. Not like a kiss from you would be bad. Why would it be bad, you're the princess of Wakanda. You're beautiful. And smart. And you care about others." You had begun rambling, not even noticing she was slowly getting closer and closer until she was in front of you again.
"Good." Her hands found your waist before she placed a soft peck on your lips, making all your negative thoughts disappear. "You don't have anything to worry about Y/N."
"But our friendship. I don't want to ruin that. Especiallyafter you've done so much for me." Shuri couldn't help the grin that plastered on her face as she stared down into your brown orbs. "You can't ruin anything if I feel the same way you do." You could swear your heart was about to burst from your chest as you wrapped your arms around her shoulders. She held you close to reassure you there was nothing to worry about and you melted in her embrace.
"My mother can wait a couple of more minutes. If you still don't believe me, I can show you better than I can tell you, sthandwa." She said in a low voice, caressing your cheeks. Giving a small nod you leaned into her, catching her lips in another kiss. Shuri was finally yours. And she was going to make sure you got all of her.

I don't belong here
Shuri Udaku x non wakndan poc FEM reader
Tumblr media
Summary: Shuri starts speaking to the reader about something she isn't too keen on agreeing with and forgets her strength a bit. (this is not an abuse fic Shuri hits a headboard not the reader we don't do that abuse shit here.)
A/n: I guess we could say this is in the Strictly Professional reality meaning the reader is well...grown as fuck and she speaks her mind. This is after Shuri invites her back to her hotel like way after and they're engaged. However this is a stand alone fic you don't have to read those to read this.
Snippet from the fic: “ "You've invited me to your home but you know I can't stay..." You can feel Shuri's vibe change as she looks at you waiting for you to finish your statement. "This is not my home Shuri I have a job and my mother" Shuri nods slowly. ”
This all started by you waking up in a hotel room after a not-so-strictly professional dinner meeting with Shuri Udaku who has now been appointed queen and protector of Wakanda. That's how this all started that's how the ring on your finger found its way to your hand and how you found yourself in a queen-sized bed in Shuri's bedroom in Wakanda with her laying on your bare chest. You've been awake for about an hour but Shuri is more sound and can sleep all day if she's truly comfortable and your chest is her most comfortable spot to lay. You love this new part of your day where you'll wake up after an eventful night of lovemaking and her sound asleep on your chest but it's going to kill you when this is to end. You break from your thoughts and gently play with her curls causing her to stir a bit "you have a meeting today" you mumble in Shuri's ear and she mumbles something in Xhosa causing you to curl your brows in confusion. She does that sometimes forgetting you don't speak her native language but you pay attention trying to remember small snippets of what she says. Shuri loves that you care about that sometimes you'll try to speak it back but fail when you forget what to say next which only gets a small laugh out of Shuri. "What?" Shuri mumbles again into your chest "intlanganiso namhlanje? (Meeting today?)" You think long and hard only recognizing one-word meeting. "I'm not going to lie and say I have any idea of what you've just said but I know you said something about today's "meeting" " Shuri nods before sitting up and unwrapping her hair "meeting today?" You nod.
"so "intlanganiso namhlanje" is meeting today?" She nods and you sigh "I'm going to learn... Eventually." Shuri smiles and takes your hand in hers "you insist on learning on your own when I could teach you. Truly a stubborn woman you are." You shrug "I want to learn on my own" she nods "I understand but I could teach you sthandwa (my love)" you can't help but smile at one of the few phrases you do recognize because she says it to you so often. My love. You repeat it back to her "sthandwa." Shuri smiles and shakes her head "you're amazing" you shrug as you pull the bed sheets over your chest. "Why are you telling me things I already know?" Shuri only smiles as she rolls on her side and wraps her arm around your torso while you admire the ring on your hand. "You've invited me to your home but you know I can't stay..." You can feel Shuri's vibe change as she looks at you waiting for you to finish your statement. "This is not my home Shuri I have a job and my mother" Shuri nods slowly.
Shuri isn't one to take no for an answer she proposed to you after so many days of practicing and still got it wrong when she asked you she invited you to her home just to see what could be. "You want to go home?" You nod slowly rubbing her back. "I want you to make this your home and bring your mother she'd love it here" you can hear the obvious worry in Shuri's voice now because when she speaks it's shaky and she won't look at you now. "Shuri I don't belong here I don't know the language I love you but I don't belong here I mean shit I don't even know the culture." Shuri sits up now hitting the headboard behind you causing you to wince at the sudden impact she just made out of annoyance. "You can learn the language and the culture it feels like you just want to leave me Y/n." You glance at the cracked wooden headboard behind you and then at Shuri. "You're getting upset and truth be told you're scaring me" Shuri glances at the headboard and gets up slowly. "No, I didn't mean to... Fuck!" Shuri carefully backs away from the bed mumbling to herself but now you're up realizing what you said has hit deeper than it should have.
"Uxolo sithandwa sam ndicela uxolo (I'm sorry, my love, I'm sorry)" whenever Shuri is too upset or bothered by something it's like she goes back to default settings and she only speaks Xhosa. You're so lost right now "Hey Shuri I didn't mean it like that" you carefully grab her hands but she retracts them as if she's poisonous to your skin. "andifuni kukoyikisa (I don't want to scare you)" you wish you could comfort but she won't even let you get close with every step you take towards her she takes one back. "Stop Shuri stop please I didn't mean to say it like that but you just cracked your headboard with ease that's a little unsettling love." Shuri replies in Xhosa again "Ucinga ukuba ndingakwenzakalisa? (Do you think I could hurt you?)" you sigh and dig for your journal in her desk which you've used to say the boy of Xhosa you do know "Sthandwa sam andiyazi lento uthetha ngayo (My dear, I don't know what you are talking about)" Shuri sighs and rubs her hands down her face as if she's finally gotten all of her feelings out she finally starts to speak English again which should comfort you but you can't help but be worried still. "I'm sorry you probably didn't understand any of that" you nod "of course not hey I didn't mean you would hurt me ever. You've only been gentle with me in all ways possible I've noticed how your touches are delicate on my skin I notice the practice you put into learning how to be soft with me I see that. You would never hurt me black panther strength and all so stop this please."
Even though your words are genuine they don't cut into Shuri's mind as deeply as they need to because she's still thinking about how she cracked her headboard at the thought you would leave her because of difficulties with her culture. You back hug her gently holding on to her waist "I could hurt you" you scoff and roll your eyes as you kiss her naked back "you wouldn't hurt a fly" Shuri smiles just a bit and looks down at you. "I apologize just the thought of someone leaving me upsets me I thought I had worked through that obviously not and I never want you to see me-" you interrupt before this gets really emotional while you're still in your birthday suit. "Shuri I know what you lost you lost family I wasn't there at the time but I know. I don't blame you for that and you shouldn't either. I'm not leaving for long I have to help my mother pack is all." Shuri turns around so quickly you're laughing when she does.
"Really you're going to stay?" You shrug "it's beautiful here the people the culture my fiancée I couldn't leave it if I wanted to you made me realize that just a moment ago. I'm not saying this out of guilt because trust and believe I will say what's on my mind. I can bring work here that's what laptops are for and bringing my mother here may allow her to finally get that vacation she's always wanted. Plus we should probably tell her we're engaged I've been avoiding that." Shuri nods agreeing "avoiding?" You nod "yes because well uhm there're a few factors like you're the queen of a city and the protector and I love you." Shuri smiles although you've dated for the longest time and are engaged the words "I love you" are rare to hear from you so when you did say it she can't help but smile in return.
"Soze ndiyeke ukukuthanda (I will never stop loving you)" you laugh because she knows damn well you have no idea what she just said, "what?" Shuri laughs and shakes her head "don't worry I'll say it so much you'll have no choice but to find out what it means." You gently peck her lips and pick her up causing Shuri to widen her eyes. "Why do you do this?" You shrug "you may have super human strength but you still weigh as much as a pea I'm asserting dominance." Shuri smiles "asserting dominance?" You nod and Shuri pinches your nipple causing you to drop her on the bed and she rolls over laughing. "Panther you have a meeting to attend" Okoye's voice is one easily recognizable so you both share glances before you widen your eyes because you yourself completely forgot. "Shit" Shuri starts looking for clothing while you get comfortable in her bed again "ah ah ah no you are to attend this meeting too." You shake your head "me? Attend?" She nods "yes we need to speak of your wifely duties of Wakanda" you raise a brow "I have nothing to wear I can't wear my work clothes or jeans what do I wear?" Shuri opens her closet and the door before walking back to her dresser "Okoye could you have some ladies come and assist her? She does not know what to wear. I think she would look beautiful in my mother's colors."
You cover yourself quickly not too accepting to see Okoye glance at your nudeness before leaving. "I'm naked" Shuri nods "we came into the world naked" you roll your eyes. "As your wife what duties would I even have?" Shuri corrects you "as queen you will share my duties I will not always be here I have to protect t-" Shuri pauses and glance at you "-If you're not ready for this we could always postpone" too shake your head. "I'm not scared of shit I'm grown" Shuri chuckles "you've never been in the throne room." You are definitely nervous but shit happens and you've got to prepare yourself for all the things that come after you make drastic decisions like saying yes when Shuri Udaku the protector and queen of Wakanda asks you to marry her.
A/n: so I did it again this was supposed to be a pillow talk fic where Shuri is speaking to the reader in the Xhosa language but I love being hurt then comforted so you get this instead enjoy. 😁😄 I have not been proud of a fic I'm a while so I'm hoping this is a good one and gets the love I think it deserves.

Shuri x Fem
The Girl with The Tattoos pt 2
Shuri POV
Getting Mbali back to the palace was pretty easy, after she had thrown up she passed out. While she was out, I had Aneka and Ayo stop by her apartment so I could grab her a few things.
Her apartment was very her, or the her that I could remember anyway. She’d painted all over the walls, but what stopped me in my tracks was a painting on the wall of me.
The painting was of myself, T’Challa and my mother. T’challa and my mother above me in the sky looking down. She drew them in the ancestral plane. The look on my face in the painting was pure devastation, it unnerved me to see it.
Another wall was of the Palace garden with two young girls chasing each other. One wearing a tribal gown, and the other in tribal furs.
Realizing I was taking too long, I went into her bedroom found a bag and started to pack some clothes for her. I grabbed her essentials, like her hygiene products and her artist kit.
By the time we arrived back at the palace is was late. I bid Aneka and Ayo a goodnight and took Mbali to my quarters.
I put her things down on my coffee table and stripped her of the skintight dress. She wore only panties under the dress, I put my own oversized t-shirt over her head and cleaned off her makeup.
Once I knew she was settled in my bed, I went over to my work table and started back on my research. Sleep never came easy to me after the past few months so I adapted to it and focused on inventing things that could better protect Wakanda.
A few more hours pass before I’m exhausted enough to fall asleep and I knock out on my desk, not able to make it to the bed.
A scream wakes me up and I jolt, standing quickly looking around. I see Mbali standing on my bed taking in her surroundings.
“Princess!” Okoye bursts into my room, her face stone cold as she looks for the threat.
“Its ok, Okoye.” I say, wiping my eyes. “I’ve got this.”
Okoye looks from Mbali to me and gives me a look.
“Do you know what M’baku will do if he hears that his sister is here?” Okoye exclaims.
“The great gorilla will do nothing.” Mbali grimaces. “I’m an adult, he cannot dictate what I do as I am no longer Jabari. I have no people and therefore cannot be regulated.”
“Okoye, leave us.” I demand, seeing her gearing up to say something else. She nods her head before standing tall and marching out, closing the door behind her.
“Why am I here?” Mbali demands, her arms crossed over her chest.
“When did you start drinking?” I counter. The girl I knew so long ago was so different now.
“Why do you care?” Mbali snidely remarks. “I’ve been in the city for a long while so why do you suddenly care now?”
“I do not take part in the gossip and tea culture of Wakanda. I’ve spent the last year and a half grieving my loved ones, working in my lab and as you know fighting in the name of Wakanda.” I give her a scolding look. “Had I known you were here in the city, I would have seeked you out.”
“Why? You don’t even know me.” Mbali scoffs. “Sure we played together as children but—“
“Played together?” I scoff. I walk towards the bed and pull her down so she’s looking up at me. “I’ve been to your apartment. You and I both know there was more to it then that, I made you a promise and I sure as hell intend to keep it.”
“You never came…” She whispers, her anger melting away. She looks away, but I can hear the sniffle she tries to cover.
“I wanted to but I wasn’t in the right place to look for you. I’m still trying to heal and it is a struggle daily to get up and do as I’m supposed to.” My accent getting stronger.
“I saw you at T’challa’s funeral. You looked so hurt, so broken. I wanted nothing more than to comfort you but I figured you didn’t want me around especially since everyone knew I was in the city.” Mbali reveals and I stare at her, thinking of the painting on her wall. “When you lost your mother, I knew you were in a bad place. Yet I felt I couldn’t approach you, because you didn’t come for me.”
“Mbali when I saw you last night, the only thing going through my mind was ‘does she remember our promise?’ We were so young but I meant every word.” I declare.
“You must be disappointed…” I can smell the scent of her tears, as she continues looking away. I grasp her face in my hand and turn her to look at me. “Drinking to the point I act a fool in public….”
“Mbali. I could never be disappointed in you. You are the same girl I fell in love with as a child. I cannot judge you for doing whatever you did to survive. We all have our vices. I can only hope you’ll allow me to take away the need for those vices.” I beseech her to permit me to be there for her.
“I don’t want to let another person in.” She sobs. “I don’t think—no! I know I won’t be able to survive losing someone else. Everyone left me all alone.”
“I will never leave you, sthandwa.” I swear to her. “I know how it feels to lose the people you love, I would never do that to you. You have my word.”
“Shuri…” She sighs. “You’re to be Queen in only a few days. Tradition is sacred in Wakanda, they will never let you take a woman lover.”
“You’re right.” I confirm, watching as she looks devastated. “They will never accept me having a woman lover but they WILL accept my wife.”
“I…”
“What did I promise you all those years ago, Sthandwa?” I demand. She swallows, biting her lip.
“Say it.” My tone commanding, I needed her to say it.
“You promised to marry me. You said that I’d be your Princess.” She mutters, her chest rising and falling with every breath.
“And I meant it.” I acknowledge my promise. “You will be my Queen. I never had it in my mind to rule, never wanted to but you’ve reminded me that Wakanda needs a ruler that is openminded and willing to enact change”
I remove my family ring, the one that was given to me by my father and place it on her finger. It was identical to T’challa’s as our father gave us both a ring. I would keep T’challa’s ring as my wedding band.
“Will you be my Queen, Mbali daughter of Wakanda?” I ask her, my eyes pleading.
“You already placed the ring, silly.” She giggles through her tears, sniffling. I give her a look, impatiently. “Yes.”
With that one word, Mbali strengthened my heart ensuring I’d do everything in my power to heal as I planned to heal her.
I’m thinking of doing a few flashbacks in the upcoming parts. Let me know if you’d like me to upload this story to Wattpad. Until next time. 💕

"Y/N?!" Riri's voice was filled with fear as she stood from the hammock.
A woman approached with a stretcher, a figure resting on it. The revelation of who it was made her heart sink. The Talokan warriors laid Y/N's unconscious form on the hammock. Riri sat next to her, unintentionally shoving the warriors to the side. She patted Taraji's face as she whispered, "C'mon, T, wake up."
She gasped, reaching into the fruit bowl to grab a knife. Using the knife, she cut along her palm and let it drop onto Y/N's palm. The veins in Y/N's arm turned green, and Riri sighed in relief.
"Is she alright?"
Shuri's voice came from behind Riri, and she turned her head to watch the cautious princess approach. Walking to the pair, she continued, "What is she?"
Riri couldn't say much. It wasn't her story to tell. But she understood that she needed to tell her something.
"Her birth name is Taraji, but she goes by Y/N," She started as she laid Y/N between her legs, back against her chest.
"She's the princess of a hidden kingdom, and they wanna stay hidden," She spoke as she glared at the princess when she brightened. Taking a breath, Riri tilted her head at the point on Y/N's ear.
"She got two forms, her home form and this one. Most people see her home form, and they'd be scared, but she's beautiful." Riri sighed, nuzzling Y/N's head and looking up at the princess. Her brows furrowed when she saw the dark look on her face.
"You'll get to know her soon enough," Riri breathed, playing with Y/N's hair.
A few moments passed, and Namor had taken Shuri on a tour of Talokan, which had been a failed attempt at recruiting the princess in his war. She was back now, and just as she sat down, Y/N groaned.
Her eyes peel open, and everything is blurry. She sits up and leans her forehead into her palm. What happened? She was driving on a bridge with Shuri when Riri crashed into the bridge, and the bike flipped.
Riri crashed into a bridge. Peeking through her fingers, Y/N sees the worried looks from Shuri and Riri. She sighs as she looks back down at her lap. Wait.
"Who changed my clothes?" Y/N asks, tying her hair back while looking at her new outfit. It was in Nymerian colors, but they weren't in Nymeria. If they were, she'd have woken up in her room with her grandpa shoving food in her face.
"Scratch that. Where are we?" She asked, standing and ignoring the protest from her friend and the princess. Y/N walked around them, waving her hands at the blue woman staring at her.
"Hey," She called, and they tilted their heads at her. A hand on her arm made her look behind her.
"They don't speak English," Shuri whispers, peeking around Y/N's shoulder at the glaring women. "They speak Mayan."
Nodding, Y/N looked around the cave. They were trapped, and she was asleep for lord knows how long. Someone had changed her clothes. And they were being guarded by some bluefish ladies.
Bluefish ladies that speak Mayan, Talokans, they were in Talokan. Digging in her pockets, she felt something hard and shuddered. Slowly, she pulled out a pocket watch.
'What the hell' she mumbles, glancing between the watch and the guards. They were staring at her like they were waiting for something. She tilted her head and watched as they tilted their heads back.
Sighing, she glanced at the confused pair behind her and the expecting guards and flung the watch at the warriors.
They scattered and screeched as they attempted to avoid the watch. Ignoring the gasps of shock behind her, Y/N leans forward to wave her fingers at the woman on the floor, "𝘞𝘩𝘺 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘸𝘦 𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦?"
A noise caught her attention, and she paused, looking in its direction. A woman was tiptoeing towards her with a gun in her hand. A Talokan noticed her and went to throw her spear at Shuri, "𝘒𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘞𝘢𝘬𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘢𝘯!"
Nakia shot the woman, sending her into the wall, and Y/N caught the spear. The other Talokan woman pulled out her knife and held it to Shuri's neck. Slowly stepping forwards, Nakia pointed her gun at them, "𝘋𝘳𝘰𝘱 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘸𝘦𝘢𝘱𝘰𝘯."
"𝘐 𝘤𝘢𝘯𝘯𝘰𝘵," She denied as she glanced between Nakia and Y/N.
"Shuri," Nakia spoke, and the princess looked at her. Adjusting the gun, Nakia continued in Xhosa, "Move your left arm."
"Don't shoot!" Y/N shouted as she stepped between them, effectively stopping Nakia from shooting. She turned to the scared Talokan and smiled, "𝘋𝘰 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸 𝘸𝘩𝘰 𝘐 𝘢𝘮?"
"𝘗𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘛𝘢𝘳𝘢𝘫𝘪 𝘰𝘧 𝘕𝘺𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘢, 𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘥𝘢𝘶𝘨𝘩𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘰𝘧 𝘒𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘈𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘪," She spoke, her voice trembling, as she bowed her head slightly.
"𝘓𝘦𝘵 𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘨𝘰 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘸𝘰𝘯'𝘵 𝘩𝘶𝘳𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶," Y/N assured, glancing at Shuri, making eye contact. She looked way too calm for someone with a knife to their throat. Noticing the woman's wary look, Y/N tilted her head, and a twist fell on her face, smiling at her as she whispered, "𝘐 𝘨𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘮𝘺 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘥."
The Talokan gave a slow nod and released Shuri before stepping back. Shuri quickly walked over to Y/N's open arms, and they turned to Nakia, who sighed in relief as she waved Riri over to them.
Nakia gave Shuri and Riri extra oxygen masks before looking at Y/N. The Nymerian shrugged, "I'll be fine."
Y/N heaved as soon as they reached the top, and the aircraft above them levitated them into the ship and flew away. As soon as they landed, Y/N flopped to the floor and Ramonda immediately hugged Shuri, "I'm so glad you're okay."
"We need to go back to Wakanda. I'm scared there's a war coming," Shuri spoke, glancing between Nakia and Ramonda.
"Breathe bitch!" Riri shouted, kneeling next to a gasping Y/N. The Nymerian was grasping her chest as she curled into herself. Shuri ran over and tapped her face.
"Griot," Ramonda spoke, "Return us to Wakanda at once."
"Yes, my queen."
Ramonda and Nakia rushed to Y/N, and the Queen gasped, "Taraji?"
"What?" Y/N mumbled, turning on her side toward Shuri. Ramonda rubbed her back as she helped the Nymerian princess sit up. Grabbing her chin, Ramonda turned Y/N towards her with a soft smile.
"How are your grandparents?" She asked, slowly guiding Y/N to lie on her shoulder. Y/N shrugged, looking at her fingers slowly turning blue. Shuri grabbed her hands to watch the color slowly cover her entire hand.
"When's the last time you spoke to them?" Ramonda asked, grabbing Y/N's hair to retwist a few pieces. She sighed when the princess mumbled an answer.
"Hold on," Riri grumbled as she looked between her friend and the Queen. Sharing a glance with Shuri, they turned back to the pair and shouted, "How do you know each other?"
"I know Taraji's grandmother," Ramonda sighed, her eyes trained onto Y/N's hair but her mind wandering. "She saved me from drowning when I was 23, such a lovely woman."
"Don't tell me y'all had something going on," Y/N squabbled as she lifted her head to glare at the Queen, who shook her head in denial.
"No, your grandmother had already met your grandfather," The Queen said as she lifted herself from the floor, Y/N standing with her. Shuri stood, helping Riri as she looked at Nakia, who shrugged.
Y/N's arms were blue, and her legs were slowly matching. Her ears were pointed, and her teeth had sharpened.
"With respect Y/N, I don't care about your grandmother-" Shuri's eyes trailed Y/N's figure, and she waved her hands at the Nymerian's legs. "I care about you and your process of becoming a smurf!"
"Oh no," Y/N sighed as she swayed slightly.
"Y'all know what a smurf is?" Riri whispered, mesmerized by the blue covering her friend's skin and the tail slowly growing out of her lower back. "Do smurfs have tails?"
"What's wrong, Sthandwa?" Shuri asked before lunging forward to catch her as she fell forward. Shuri flipped her on her back, cringing at the sight of the Nymerian's eyes rolling to the back of her head.
"Is she dead?" Nakia whispered, using the tip of a nearby spear to poke Y/N's arm. Shuri glared up at her as she smacked the weapon away in annoyance.
Looking back down at the Nymerian princess, Shuri sighed softly as she cupped her face. "She's just sleeping."
"Actually, she's transforming," Riri started as she flailed her hands slightly. At the expectant looks, she shrugged as she continued, "She'll turn into her home form, and when she wakes up, she'll be able to turn back."
Ramonda sighs in relief before looking back at her daughter. Shuri sat on the floor tracing random shapes on Y/N's cheeks with a soft smile on her face. This was good, for Wakanda and Shuri. The Queen prayed the Nymerian tradition wouldn't get in the way of her daughter's happiness.
"If she wakes up," Riri mumbled, watching Y/N's hand fall to the floor.

Recently you have became distance between your girlfriends .Why? 1. They had a big project . 2. You didn’t want to interrupt them no matter what was going on. And that was the problem . These cramps where dead ass killing you softly .Another reason why you didn’t bother telling them was because of your mood swings. Oh how they got tired of you and those mood swings .
Y/n’s Pov
Right now you where in your shared bedroom bored and dealing with cramps . You took a bunch of advil but the shit didn’t work.”alright cramps Yall not finna kick my ass”You chucking walking to get some chocolate. A random cramp came out of nowhere and hit you hard. I don’t want the smoke” You say holding your stomach. While with the other opening the fridge . “This Twix bar better work and these chips” You say grabbing the snacks before making your way back to the couch .
You where on the couch silently having pain .No matter how much chocolate and advil you took shit wasn’t working. You even tried google .You scroll looking at what they recommend. “Greens and salmon sounds like a nice out to eat meal sound like I’m finna go get some food “ . You exact the tab and open a new one to search “salmon places near me” you find the nearest location and it had 4.5 stars so it had to be good . You close your tab and get up from the bed. You get your keys and purse off the dresser. You make your way to the living room and put in your black converses .Once your shoes where on you where ready to go.
“Shuri Riri Ms Y/n has entered the lab” griot says as you walk in the doors seeing the 2 building. “Hey Babe “ Riri says looking you up and down. You wore a black shirt and black cargo. Even though you where in your period that didn’t stop your fashion to eat.
Tumblr media
(Outfit idea imagine whatever)
“Is there something wrong with my outfit “ you question riri while shuri was stilling doing something. “Nah Just looking at how beautiful my baby is “ she says ending with a smile. “Well I’m going to order some food and I wanted to know what y’all would want .it’s a soul food place” You say realizing shuri still hasn’t even said a hi or wave. “I want ribs and Mac and cheese “ riri says getting back to work”.”I’ll take some catfish ,hush puppies and greens “ Shuri says as she looks at you showing a smile. “Alright see y’all “ you walk out annoyed but you were just happy .
Riri’s Pov
As you exit the lab I sense a mood change . “She definitely just had a mood swing” I say thinking about one thing this could mean. "She on her period" I say looking at shuri. "How do you know" she asks me while looking up."Greens help cramps the mood swings the distance " I say taping my finger in the table." I wonder why she didn't tell us " I question."well lets make it up to her somehow I'll buy her favorites before she comes back" I say getting my purse." Taking the day off? " shuri asks." hell yeah " I respond leaving the lab getting ready to go to a Walmart
Once I got back from the trip to the store I begin to set her basket up. When it came to y/n me and Shuri would often make a basket will all things she enjoyed. She always enjoyed the basket so we kept making them.”did y/n make it home yet “ I ask talking to shuri on the bracelet.”no she should be home in 10” Shuri says making it so I could finish it in time.
I finish the basket and I head back to the lab.Making the basket a somewhat suprise. "Ms Shuri and riri y/n has entered the lab" griot says. "Hey y'all I got the food" she says showing the bag." guess what” I ask her.”what” she questions as she places the food on the lab table . “we’re taking a day off " . “I love you guys so much”she says getting excited.”you guys wanna eat in the room ?” She asks . “Why not “ shuri says . We walk out of the lab making the way to our bedroom.
She opens the door to seeing the basket on the coffee table. “And what is this” she says getting close to the basket . She picks up the letter from the basket .”Dear my love, I haven’t been thinking about you and getting hints that you have started. To help with cramps I made you this basket with everything you love” . She reads the letter and ends walking up giving us both a big hug . “I love y’all but just know y’all shouldn’t have “ she says before letting us go.
Me shuri and y/n have been relaxing an enjoying the food. "Why didn't you want to tell us" shuri asks looking at y/n."Because of what happened last time"
*Flash Back Start*
"Don't talk to me" Y/n says as she hid under the covers. "What did I do" I ask confused. "You know what you did" she says peeping out of the cover. "What did I do" I still ask. "You bought me vegan chocolate" she says whining. "Sorry" I say sitting next to her on the bed . “Sorry dosent cut it and you looking good dosent help me being angry either “ she says getting sassy . “You lucky your on your period” I say with a slight smirk. “Ewww” She says getting back under the covers. “Hey I’m sorry fr fr “ I say whining back at her. “Yeah yeah “ she says as she gives me some cover . “Movie ?” I question her as I get under the cover . “Sure “ She says as she lays on my chest .
*Flashback end*
“Your sassy attitude was finna make it so you couldn’t walk for 3 days but other than that you should’ve told us” I say forming a laugh . “Y’all are right but my attitude that’s something I can’t stop doing gotta live with it tbh “ Y/n says with a chuckle. “Aye just make sure it’s in check when talking to me “ shuri says looking up . “Or what” y/n says smirking and getting closer . “You know what “ Shuri says leaning in talking in a whisper. “Woah there shuri she is on her period “I say stopping them . “ Your safe for now little y/n “ she says ending with a wink.
No Pov
For the rest of the night the three ladies spent time at home . The watched movies played music relaxed and flirt . The three ended the night falling asleep on one another on the couch watching princess and the frog .
Y/n enjoyed the small things they would do such as the basket and enjoyed the day with the 2.

A knock sounds on your dorm room signaling you had a guest, with a groan you pushed up off your bed unlocking your phone and immediately going to check your emails to see if one of your clients had told you they’d meet at your dorm. To which you realized was weird and uncommon since you never met anyone at your dorm. “Who is it?”
“I wanna buy somethin from you,” The voice on the other side replies and without another thought you opened your door still looking through your emails for anything that would tell you who this mystery person is.
“Yo, I don’t meet at my dorm nor am I selling anything that-” Your voice trailed off as you made eye contact with the Princess of Wakanda. Your eyes widened, almost rolling out of their sockets at the goddesses in front of you.
“Well are you going to let me in, or are you going to stare at me like some eye candy?” Her honey smooth voice broke you out of your chance.
Stepping back and widening the door allowed the woman to walk into your dorm immediately, closing the door after her, once you did a sweep down the hall making sure no one saw her.
“Umm.. Princess, what are you doing here?” Shuri’s eyes scanned the room and suddenly you became claustrophobic and extremely aware of how messy the room was. “I wasn’t expecting anyone.” and especially not a PRINCESS.
Shuri’s eyes meet yours and she gives you a soft smile and shakes her head. “I’m not judging you.. I’m just taking in the college dorm life.”
Her hand goes to the back of her neck as if she’s nervous and it’s not completely weird that she’s standing in your dorm of all places rather than doing her princess duties in Wakanda. “So, Princess, may I ask what’s brought you to my humble abode?” You questioned softly. “I mean I’m honored, it’s not everyday the beautiful Princess of the most powerful country in the world-.”
“You think I’m beautiful?” She cuts you off tilting her head slightly with a quizzed look on her face. Out of all things she’s stuck on your compliment of her stunning appearance? Her facial structure is so sharp, her eyes are welcoming and remind you of something cozy, and her lips? Her lips are perfect and go just right with the rest of her face.
You can’t help but imagine how they’d feel against your own, or perhaps on your nec- “Y/n?”Shaken out of your day dream, you look at Shuri who’s happened to get closer in the small amount of time you spent daydreaming about her and her lips.
“Of course, who doesn’t?” Your voice is tip toeing the line of damn near non existence as her hand reaches up to one of your stray braids behind your ear like the other on the other side of your head.
“Nevermind. You're the one who built the Vibranium radar, correct?” The princess takes a step back and immediately you long for her body heat, and her musk of smell such as metals, and unidentifiable liquids.
“Yeah, I built it for a dumb school project,”
“School project?”
“My professor said I couldn’t do it, deemed it impossible even, but I proved him wrong and received an A in my efforts.”
“Well that A and need to challenge your Professor has gotten Wakanda into some trouble.”’ Your eyebrows pinch together in confusion as you move to take a seat on your bed. How did your tin- well not so tiny stupid project get an entire Country in trouble.
Shuri sensing your destress sit next to on the bed and puts her hand overtop yours on your thigh. “Hey..” Her head dips down a bit to make eye contact with you. “We’re gonna help you through this, you just have to trust me.” Your eyes connect with hers and can tell she truly means it. “Promise?”
“Promise.”

𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐍𝐈𝐁𝐁𝐋𝐄𝐃 𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐋𝐈𝐏 and bounced your knee up and down as you sat on the toilet of your bathroom. "Fuck.Fuck.Fuck. Oh my gosh."
You put your head in your hands as you just needed a moment to.. you'd say.. think. How could you let this happen? You grab the pregnancy test sitting on the sink and you grab it, looking at the result.
"Positive.." you breathed out as you shook your head. "No no no." You put your head in your hands once again. You throw the test and it hits off of the door, onto the floor. You rip open another test and repeat the same process.
You watch the test as you wait for the result, keeping your beady little eyes on it.
Soon, two lines come up on the test.
"No!nope nope nope." You dig through the trash to look at the box. "This has to be some kind of prank." You muttered, in denial about everything.
It could be the test, right? there's no way..well it is from a cheap drugstore. You read the test, and nothing seems useful to you so you throw it back in.
You're going to have to accept it.
You're pregnant.
With shuri udaku's baby.
Without thinking, you leave the bathroom and grab your coat. You then get your keys from the counter and go down to the stairs, to get to the parking garage.
As you get there, you sit in your car and nibble your lip. You cant be pregnant. You guys aren't even together. You can't be together. That was the agreement. This was just for fun..but It got serious so fast. You drive off, palms sweaty and shaky.
✿•˖*
𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐑𝐄 standing outside of shuris lab now. You grab the doorhandle but hesitate, but before you can do anything griot informs her that someone is here.
"Come in!"
You take a deep breath and open the door, standing helplessly as she works on a new project.
"Oh, y/n. Didnt expect to see you here." She says as she glances up at you, then continuing to work.
You chuckle shakily as you muster up some words to say to her. "I'm..I wanted to ask you something, you know about the strap." You get quieter on the last word.
She drops her piece of equipment and stares at you. She raises her brow and stares at you strangely. "Can it maybe get me pregnant, for instance?" You ask.
"No..why are you asking?" She tilts her head. "Y'know, I just wanna protect myself. Is anything faulty about it or...?" You slightly lie, and before she can open her mouth you cut her off.
"Actually, don't answer that. Its fine." You say as you turn around to the door. "Y/n--" but before she could say anything you were gone.
you felt a wave of embarrasment and shame come over you. You felt as if you screwed this up. You walk to your car and try to open the door, but your hands were shaky. you take breaths to calm yourself.
"I'll figure it out." you mumble to yourself as you finally open the car door. Okay, a plan. what will you do?
No idea.
you groaned and put your head against the steering wheel. You were completely clueless..how were you going to take care of a mini you when you can hardly take care of yourself some days?
You figured the best idea was to stop seeing shuri untill you figured out and processed all of this.
you rub your belly and bite your lip.
"Everythings gonna be alright.." you reassured yourself as you started the car, your shaky and clammy hands gripping the steering wheel.
You drove off from the lab, playing some chill r & b to soothe you.
Once you got to your house. you slumped on the couch and sat there in distress. you felt the tears prickling in your eyes, and your throat closing up. There was one question lingering in your mind. what were you going to do?
Your phone buzzed, bringing you out of your trance. you wiped your eyes and sniffled.
shuri
wyd tomorrow?
you
busy
shuri
day after that?😏
you
busy all week
you threw your phone across the couch as you slumped there, being sorry for yourself. How could you let this happen. Messing with the princess of wakanda wasn't the best idea.. but somehow you couldn't let go. You craved her touch, and when she wasnt there you could still taste her on your lips.
The best idea was to avoid. avoid avoid avoid. Untill nessecary. Which would probably be..forever? she couldn't know about this baby. Not now , not ever.
✿•˖*
weeks later
𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐅𝐈𝐃𝐃𝐋𝐄𝐃 with your fingers anxiously as you sat out in the waiting room, outside of the obstetricians office. You sat alone with your thoughts as the clocked on the wall ticked. Shuri had been trying to contact you for ages now, and your only choice was to decline and avoid.
You now were here for your first ultrasound, which was well overdue. suddenly, a secretary comes out.
"Y/n L/n?" she says as she looked around the room.
you got up from your seat and took a deep breath, your hands shaking. "Okay.." you muttered as you made your way to the office.
You had no idea what the gender was, and the pregnancy was slowly started to show on you. mood changes, morning sickness, and cravings. The belly was starting to show too, in which you had to hide with baggy clothes. Layering clothes was basically your best friend.
You walked into the office as the doctor smiled at you warmly. "Hi.." you said in a low tone. "hi y/n." She said as she put on her gloves. "Do you mind just sitting over there?" she says to you as she prepares everything for your ultrasound. you take a seat. she then adjusts the chair to make you lean back.
She starts the procedure by pulling up your shirt and putting gel directly on your stomach. she rubs the cold gel on your preganant belly. "Nervous?" she said to you, trying to make conversation. "Kinda." you chuckled. "Thats okay.. it's normal. You're not the only one." she grinned at you.
"Okay..." she says as she gets the sensor and puts it onto your stomach, moving it round. Suddenly something comes on the screen. your..baby.."Oh..oh my gosh." you say as a tear rolls down your face, hands over your mouth. you laughed softly. You start to sob quietly out of joy.
This was a moment you were going to cherish forever.
"It's just me and you." you said in between sobs, smiling.
"Would you like to know the gender?"
"No..no..I want it to be a surprise." you sniffled as you wiped your tears.
𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐄𝐋𝐄𝐕𝐀𝐓𝐎𝐑 𝐃𝐎𝐎𝐑 opened as you get to your apartment floor. You felt joy running through your body, but also waves of sadness.
You walk over to your apartment and put the keys in the door, the keys jangling. you walk in to see the lights on and someone sitting on the couch. It can't be..you drop your keys and walk backwards. "When were you going to tell me...sthandwa." she turns and gets up to look at you. "oh.." you mutter as you close the door behind you. "h..how did you get in here, Shuri?" you said shakily. "when were you going to tell.Me."
she picks up the trash can from your bathroom , and takes out the two pregnancy tests. "I..."
"This is why you were avoiding me?"
"I didn't know how to tell you." you sniffled as you felt the waterworks coming.
"..I thought it was for the best."
Shuri looks at you, attempting to stay strong. you saw her slowly breaking down, tears rolling down her face. "When did you find out? how far along are you?" she rushes to you, grasping onto your elbows, rubbing her hands along your arms.
"A couple weeks." you sniffled and smiled up at her. you take the photo of the ultrasound out of your bag and show it to her. she gasps softly as she takes it out of your hand to look at it.
she cries some more, tear drops rolling on the picture. "entle.." her mother language slipping off of her tongue. she puts it on the counter and gets on her knees, admiring yourbaby belly. she kisses it softly and looks up at you. she closes her eyes as another tear comes down, and you cover your mouth to stop you from full on sobbing.
the most beautiful moment you had ever experienced.
"Have you told anyone yet?"
"no.. i don't plan on it anytime soon."
"I'll wait for you. whenever your ready, I will wait for you."
✿•˖*
𝐘𝐎𝐔 looked at yourself in the mirror and adjusted your hair for what felt like the fifth time in the past five minutes. "Relax babe, you look amazing." Riri reassured you as she walked towards the mirror, looking at you in the relfection. "You should go out there. Everyones waiting for you." she grinned. you give her a tight lipped smile back as she put her hand in yours. "you got this. it's your day." you nodded as she walked out of the bathroom, glancing at you and shutting it behind her.
"Okay." you mutter as you walk out of your hiding spot.
you walk over to the front of your babies gender reveal in awe. You couldn't believe it was happening. You felt calm and stress-free as you know there people who love you and care for you, meaning you didn't feel alone anymore. You felt a little anxious though. you rubbed your belly again and you looked down at your outfit, and admired yourself. You felt as confident as ever. you smiled to yourself as Shuri came up beside you, kissing your forhead. "I told you not to wear those death traps." you rolled your eyes as you knew what she was referring to.
"Heels aren't going to hurt the child, Shuri." you chuckled. "Plus, i look good, don't I?" you spun around to show the full fit. "Amazing." she smiled wide.
Shuri grabbed a pin, and you grabbed a balloon which had the words "Boy or girl?" inprinted on it. Family and friends gathered and smiled hopefully at the both of you.
"3..2..1..!" They all chanted along with you
Shuri pops the balloon, and suddenly everyone cheered in unision. Blue glitter spread in the air, meaning it's a boy!
You and shuri screamed excitedly, jumping up in the air. she picks you up and spins you around.
"Oh my gosh..Marry me."
your lips part slowly as you try to process the information you just heard.
"Marry me, sthandwa."
You nod as you were shocked you couldn't even say anything.
it was now you, your wife and your son.
A/n : sorry this took so long yall...chile what a mess. Anyways hope you enjoyed.

First of all, many of you are so cute with your little requests. So many of you are creative! Okay, this one is LONG. I hope you enjoy it. Feel free to leave comments. It probably will have a second part.
Don't Wanna be a Player No More
The meeting at the palace finished, but M’Baku stuck around, joining Shuri for lunch. Together they walked into the cafe.
In time, they had grown closer with the Jabari leader taking on the role of a big brother. He would never replace T’Challa nor was he trying to. He simply cared about Shuri and felt she’d been dealt extremely cruel hands. He wanted to be of support to her. Plus, they found that they enjoyed the other’s company.
“Bast, I’m starving,” Shuri said, approaching the food court.
“I could eat multiple feasts right now,” M’Baku agreed.
“That’s you on the daily.”
“And what about it? A king has to eat. Do you see my stature? I can’t afford to play small.” Just as he said that, his eyes landed on one of the servers. He offered his best smile. “See, Hadiza here knows just what I’m talking about.”
“Why must you bring Hadiza into it? She’s here to feed your belly not your ego.” Shuri cracked a smile at the pretty worker who softly laughed.
“I come in peace,” Hadiza said, piling food onto their plates and earning laughter from them.
“Ah, here’s Riri. Someone with respect,” M’Baku called, seeing the science genius enter the premises. She was not alone. Another woman accompanied her.    You.
Shuri, who sat her plate down at a table, followed M’Baku’s gaze.
“Goodness, could you stare any harder?” He said rather than asked Shuri, who nodded in greeting at Riri.
“For your information, she looks familiar.” As Shuri watched you taking your turn to get your food, she tried to place you, but to no avail.
“She also looks like your next victim,” M’Baku said, amused by his own joke.
Shuri threw a crumb at him. “Hush up. I’m a single woman.”
You walked with Riri over to them, feeling a little nervous about meeting Wakanda’s new Queen. You knew this day would come considering your opportunity.
“Hey y’all.” Riri smiled. “Shuri, I’m sure you know Y/N. M’Baku, this is Y/N.”
You wanted to shake Shuri’s hand but it seemed like bad timing with it being lunch and all.
“How are you?” M’Baku cordially greeted you, slyly taking you in.
“He’s the leader of the Jabari tribe,” Riri explained to you.
You laughed a bit and nodded because you were well aware. “And this must be Queen Shuri,” You said, successfully making the others laugh. “It’s a pleasure to meet you both.” You bowed.
Riri’s smile faded as she sat down. She had told you it was unnecessary to do that yet it did in fact feel necessary. First impressions were everything and you were raised to respect people and if bowing was a royal custom, so be it.
There was a mysterious small groan that could be heard.
“You don’t have to do that,” Shuri said, to which M’Baku agreed.
“Told you,” Riri muttered before eating her baked potatoes.
“I’m sorry,” You said, feeling your skin heat up.
Shuri waved it off with a smile. “All good. Just promise me that’ll be the first and last time you do that. Deal?”
“Deal.”
You were relieved that things were going well so far on your first day at the palace.
“So Y/N, do you work with Riri?” M’Baku asked, making conversation.
“I do, only for two hours, though. I’m mainly here to do outreach work.” You ignored the fact that Shuri was staring at you. Of course she’d be interested in this conversation. It was her business.
“Ah, that’s how I know you,” the Queen said, holding her fork. “Nakia referred you.”
You smiled. “Yes.”
“That’s impressive ‘cause Nakia wouldn’t just send over anyone.”
“Duh,” Riri said, making M’Baku laugh. She grinned at the look Shuri gave her. “Nah, but I just have a good feeling about Y/N being here. She’s dope.”
“Aww, thank you! The feeling is mutual. It’s an honor to be surrounded by greatness,” You said, looking at the three of them.
“You belong here,” Shuri said to you.
You repeated the statement to yourself, knowing you’d never forget it.
~
You were focused on your data work. It consisted of the different organizations you’d been in contact with. In just your first week, you’d connected with hundreds of individuals. The doors opened, but you remained focused.
“Hey,” You heard Shuri say, causing you to acknowledge her. “Where’s Riri?”
“I think she’s at the cafe with Kenya,” You answered, referring to the genius scientist’s girlfriend.
Shuri nodded. “Are you coming with us tonight?”
Some of the team was having an outing this evening. Of course you’d been invited and didn’t mind the idea of attending. You liked your colleagues thus far and wanted to make another good impression by showing up.
“Yep, even though I don’t drink…”
“Neither do I. And I still know how to have fun.” She shrugged a shoulder and came closer, observing your screen. “I really hope you have fun tonight, you deserve it.”
You smiled. “I’m sure I will. You all seem like a good time.”
“What about you?”
“What about me?”
“Are you a good time?”
You chuckled at her sheer curiosity, tilting your head to the side thoughtfully. “I mean, I wouldn’t say I’m the life of the party, but I vibe off good energy.”
Shuri smiled, her beauty on constant display. “I know just what you mean.” She rested her hand on your desk. “I promise I have good energy.” She was staring at you while you were entranced by her tattoo.
“Cool tat.”
She laughed softly. “Thank you! Do you have any tattoos?”
Before you could answer, you both heard Riri come in, declaring, “Alright, we out!”
“Hold on,” Shuri called, turning back to you. “Y/N, are you good to go straight there? Or did you need to stop home first?”
“I think I’m good, I have everything I need.”
“But a ride,” Riri said. “C’mon, Kenya’s waiting.”
“Can she at least use the bathroom first?” Shuri said back, pulling a face at you, as if to say “can you believe this girl?”
“You didn't go already? Never mind, it’s cool. I’ll wait.”
“Or you can ride with me,” Shuri mentioned to you.
Riri smirked at the Queen.
You lifted your hands in surrender. “Okay, okay, I do need to go to the bathroom, but I won’t be long. Riri, I don’t want to keep you and Kenya waiting, though.”
“Nah, it’s fine. Let me go with you.” She waited for you to grab your stuff.
Unbeknownst to you, Shuri admired the view of you as you walked towards Riri.
“Thanks for offering though, I appreciate it,” You called over your shoulder, smiling at Shuri, who quickly brought her eyes back to your face and matched your expression.
Shuri did her nightly check-in of the lab before leaving. When she went to the bathroom, you were exiting it. You held the door open for her with your usual kind smile.
“Thank you, usana,” the royal said. “That’s a nice dress, by the way.”
~
After debating, Okoye got involved in this heated exchange that consisted of a female letting Shuri have it. “Excuse me, what seems to be the trouble here?”
The girl’s eyes widened before she glowered and pointed at Shuri. “So you do have a girlfriend!”
Okoye rolled her eyes to the high heavens.
“Yes, this is my girlfriend,” Shuri deadpanned, and shooting Okoye a look that said “just go with it.”
Okoye had other plans. “I am the general, thank you very much.”
“You’re fucking your general?”
“For Bast’s sake,” Okoye said as Shuri stifled a laugh.
“Walk away,” Shuri said, steering Okoye away from the infuriated young woman. Okoye of course stayed behind to make sure the stranger left.
Shuri finally released her laugh as Okoye wore the ultimate look of disgust.
“You have got to be more selective, your highness.”
“Hey, what’d I say about formality after hours?”
Okoye shook her head. “I thought I was going to have to hurt her, but she’s just an idiot. Why can’t you get involved with one girl? Preferably a decent one with a working brain.”
Shuri smirked as she eyed you across the room. “Funny you say that because I know someone.”
Okoye followed her vision. “Is that the new girl Y/N?”
“Yes, ma’am.”
“Maybe I should retract my statement. She seems too good for you.”
“I’m sorry, how did you say you know her again?” Shuri narrowed her eyes at her.
Okoye smirked. “You know I’m right.”
Shuri tuned Okoye out as you and her made eye contact. You both smiled. Shuri made her way towards you as you finished your plastic cup of soda.
“The vibes must be off,” said Shuri, speaking down into your ear so you could hear her. She could have sworn she saw you shiver. “Are you cold?” She pulled away and unzipped her royal green Adidas Ivy Park tracksuit.
“Oh, no, no, you don’t have to do that,” You replied, though the royal was now clad in just a tank top that showed off her fit form. You forced your eyes on her face.
“You sure? It’s not a problem, Y/N.”
“I don’t want you to be cold.”
She chuckled inwardly. “You’re so cute. Tell you what, if I do get cold, you can help warm me up.” She studied your reaction, only getting a little laugh. You were very oblivious.
“Is that your way of saying you want to dance?” You asked her.
“Actually, yeah. I’d like that.” She took your hand, leading you to the dance floor.
It just so happened they were playing one of your new favorite songs. When that song came on, you didn’t care who was around.
Shuri and others gassed you up as you moved. But when it was all over, you suddenly turned shy. You looked around and saw two chicks staring you down—but bitterly.
“Well, damn, what did I do?” You thought aloud.
“Hmm?” Shuri looked at you, listening attentively as you cupped your hand around her ear, informing her of the two strange women. Shuri found the culprits and glared daggers at them until they averted their gazes.
“Do you know them?” You asked. “‘Cause I don’t. Never seen ‘em a day in my life.”
“Don’t pay them no mind, they’re just jealous,” Shuri said, pulling your back against her front. She felt warm, soft, and firm all at once. And she smelled divine. She must have wanted to comfort you because she was stroking your arms.
Clearly you weren’t the only sweet one.
You leaned into her, which made her smile yet again. “Can we keep dancing? You’re so good at it,” she asked. You laughed and nodded, feeling boosted by her compliment. The next grind-inducing song came on causing you to whine your hips. Fueled by the music, you even dropped it low, backing it up against Shuri, who gripped your hips and moved with you.
“Damn, Y/N! Okay!” You heard Riri say. “She said I’m not a wallflower no more!”
You and Shuri had a good laugh.
The royal noticed you seemed slightly out of it; she deduced it to her jacket and all the dancing and excitement. She gently removed the jacket from you and held it. “Let’s get you some water, party girl.”
She held your hand and you felt protected as you trekked to the bar.
“I’m getting ready to head out,” Shuri said. She never liked to stay out too long.
“Oh, okay,” You looked at her nodding. You weren’t quite ready to leave yourself but if Shuri was leaving, you didn’t care to stay either.
“I can give you a ride,” She offered, to which you accepted.
Shortly after, you said goodbye to everyone. Kenya was the designated driver for Riri.
“Bye girl, see you Monday!” Riri hugged you. “Bye, Shuri.” The Queen gave her a side-hug and nodded at Kenya before resting her hand on the small of your back, escorting you out of the club with Okoye and Aneka in tow.
Shuri programmed your address into her car. It smelled as good as she did.
“I hope you don’t mind, but Okoye and Aneka are gonna follow us,” she mentioned to you before starting the car.
“No, I know. It’s cool. That’s their job.” You got comfy in the chair, leaning back.
“Oh, you’re going to sleep on me?” Shuri asked, starting the car. She jokingly sucked her teeth. “Damn, Y/N.”
“Noo, I’mma keep you company.”
She chuckled and turned on her music at a comfortable volume. “Nah, it’s okay. I’ll wake you up when we’re there.” Although you were close to dozing off, you fought to stay up with Shuri. You felt bad about sleeping when she was giving you a ride.
She was a little worried that you might fall out, so she walked you to your door.
“Thank you, Shuri. I had fun tonight,” You spoke as you used your keys.
Your words lit her up. “My pleasure, and you most definitely are a good time.”
You could only yawn in response.
Shuri chuckled. “Have a good sleep, okay?”
You gave her a hug and she gladly accepted, squeezing you. “You too. Get home safe.”
“I will, babe.”
Whenever she called you a pet name, it made you feel gooey inside, but you always pushed it out of your head believing it meant little if anything at all.
All you could think that besides the ones your grandmother gave, that was one of the best hugs you ever had.
Shuri waited until you were inside with the door shut before taking her leave. You were surprised when you awoke in the morning to see a text from her: Made it home safely. Enjoy your weekend! x
~
“You texting somebody?”
Shuri’s smile faded. She was responding to your reply about her making it home safely. You had wished her a happy, restful weekend. “Yes, Imani. Why?”
“Just trying to figure out who with that Kool-aid smile. They gave you good news or something?”
Shuri stared at her and the woman stared back, arching an eyebrow.
“How’s your food?” Shuri changed the subject. She had taken one of her lady friends out for breakfast.
“It’s good,” her companion admitted, flipping her locs over her shoulder. “I’m not done either.”
“I said you could have whatever you want,” Shuri dryly reminded her.
“I know. Excuse me, waiter? Yes, I would like try your international omelette next.”
“Okay, and for you, miss?” He addressed Shuri.
“I’m good, thank you.”
After breakfast, Shuri took Imani to the mall. She was losing patience because unlike herself, Imani was no fast shopper. To say she was taking her precious time was an understatement. Shuri knew it was intentional. Imani felt like she was entitled to get under her skin.
She was about to just tell Imani to call her when she was done and she’d pick her up. Until she saw you. You were looking at dresses. And just like that, Shuri’s irritation melted away.
She snuck up behind you, covering your eyes. “You didn’t tell me you were coming to the mall.”
A puff of surprise left your throat. “Shuri?”
“The one and only.”
You turned around, revealing your bright smile. “You didn’t tell me either, miss thang.”
Shuri motioned to the clothes. “I see you’re looking at dresses, what’s the occasion?”
Her eyes bored into you as you shared that you were buying some work attire.
“Ah, I see…you sure none of these are for a date?”
You chuckled. “I mean, I guess they could be…” The two of you kept your smiles. “So, what brings you here?”
Shuri’s visage dulled. “I’m here with a friend.”
“Oh, that’s cool.”
“What are you doing after this?”
“Well, actually, I was planning to get a tattoo. Remember you asked me if I had any? This will be my first one.”
Shuri was so interested, firing off questions about what and where and when you planned to get the ink. And then someone shouted her name.
You, Shuri, and other patrons whipped their heads to look at Imani.
“I’m ready,” she announced.
“What did I tell you about screaming my name like that?” Shuri asked after a beat.
“You don’t mind it any other time,” Imani shot back.
You could feel the tension. But what mainly captivated you was the fact that this chick looked awfully familiar. She looked exactly like one of those women who seemed like they wanted to shank you at the club the other night.
“It’s rude to stare,” Imani said to you.
“That’s funny, weren’t you staring last night?” You blurted.
Imani pursed her lips smugly but you just walked alway. You didn't want any trouble. And now it was making sense as to why she’d had a problem with you.
“Looks like your little girlfriend is upset,” Imani commented to Shuri sarcastically.
~
M’Baku watched as you entered the cafe and took your plate before leaving.
“The first time I see her all week and she disappears,” he said. “Do I even need to ask what happened?”
“She probably just doesn’t like you,” Shuri said.
He was unamused. “Ha-ha-ha. Shuri, did you do something to that girl?”
“Her name is Y/N, and, no, but I know you love to think that.” She took a long sip from her water jug
“Then why doesn’t she come around anymore? Even with Riri being out sick today, you would think she would feel welcomed to sit with us.”
“She’s been eating as she works.”
The silence was deafening.
Shuri sighed and looked at M’Baku’s knowing expression. “Ever since she found out about Imani, she’s been keeping a distance,” she quietly relayed.
His eyebrows went up and he nodded. “And why do you think that is?”
Shuri was exasperated. “I don’t know, maybe she liked me?”
“So, you didn’t lead her on?”
“No!”
M’Baku took Shuri in, but without judgement this time. “Okay, sis.”
Shuri stabbed at her food. “It shouldn’t matter anyway. She’s my employee for Bast’s sake.”
After lunch, Shuri returned to the lab. A week ago you’d worked in pure silence, but now you had taken her invitation to listen to music. It sounded like a movie score that you were listening to. She watched you bob your head as you worked with concentration etched onto your side profile.
You sensed someone watching you so you turned your back to find the gaze belonged to Shuri. You offered the weakest smile she’d ever seen and redirected your attention to your device.
Shuri decided to let you be for now. About forty-five minutes later, The Griot alerted there was a visitor on the premises named Zen-daya. Shuri pulled a face in confusion as she saw her information. “I have no idea who this is—“
“It’s for me,” You clarified.
Shuri noticeably calmed down. “Oh. Who is she?”
You chuckled. “Don’t worry, she’s safe. I told her to meet me here.”
“That doesn’t answer my question.”
“If you must know, she’s my date.”
The room fell silent and thick once more. You packed your things and used the Kimoyo beads you’d been given to confirm with Zen-daya that you were on your way outside.
As you proceeded to leave, you looked at Shuri—really looked at her for the first time in a week. Although most probably wouldn’t have noticed it, you could tell something was bothering her. You didn’t need to know her long to know she was possibly affected by your obvious detachment. You had gone from warm and engaging to polite and short with her. Although you were doing it for the right reasons, you sympathized with her.
“Have a good weekend, Shuri,” You said, holding your bag over your shoulder.
She turned her head to eye you. “Y/N.”
You slowed down and faced her with a questioning gaze.
She looked serious. “It won’t take long. I wanted to check-in with you.” You nodded and she continued.
“If you want to keep things strictly professional between us, I understand. I just hope I haven’t made you uncomfortable.”
You thought of what to say. “You haven’t made me uncomfortable.”
She stood up. “Then why the sudden change? Why don’t you speak anymore?”
“I say good morn—“
“That’s all you say. You stay in here for lunch, avoiding me—even M’Baku has been asking about you. What’s going on? Is everything okay?”
You were right. She was absolutely affected.
“Is this about Imani—the girl you saw me with at the mall that day?”
A look and feeling of revulsion washed over you at the reminder. The truth was, you’d developed a crush on Shuri following your time at the club together. And you felt foolish when you realized she was involved with someone else—someone she had pretended not to know. Furthermore, Riri had warned you to watch out for Shuri because “she had heartbreaker tendencies.” Overall, keeping things professional seemed for the best.
“No, it’s about me doing what I feel is best.” You mentally high-fived yourself for the mature response.
Shuri’s frown deepened. She reluctantly nodded and turned away.
All you could think about was how sad she looked and how you wanted to give her a big hug. But you didn’t dare.
~
Riri had enough. She pulled Shuri out of the lab. Shuri looked puzzled at Riri’s shrewd countenance. “Yes?”
“Cutting the formalities, you’ve been acting like an ass this whole week, what’s up?” Riri confronted using her hands as she spoke.
Shuri scoffed.
“No, you have been, ask everyone!” Riri then looked around and lowered her tone, “We can all feel and see how snappy you are.”
Deep down, Shuri knew that for Riri to pull her aside, it was serious.
“Thank you,” she said, just as earnest.
Riri softened a tad. “You welcome. Now tell me what’s wrong.”
“Just some personal stuff, it was inappropriate of me to bring it into work. I will apologize.” Without another word, Shuri returned to the lab. She clasped her hands, looking around and soon getting her staff’s attention. “Everyone, a word. This week I’m sure you all noticed a change in my behavior, and for that I sincerely apologize. I have been dealing with some personal matters, but that is not an excuse to mistreat my team. I hope you can forgive me.”
“We know you’re still grieving,” someone called.
It was time for your shift in the lab. You saw Riri standing just outside the doors, watching what was happening inside. You greeted each other, though you could immediately tell something was off.
“Shuri just apologized to the team,” She filled you in.
“Oh, really? That’s good.”
Riri didn’t react. She looked contemplative. Almost reluctantly, she moved towards you. “Why do I get the feeling some shit went down between you?” She whispered.
“What do you mean?”
“She hasn’t been the only one acting off. You’ve been strange, too, acting distant.”
“Distant or professional?” You defended.
Riri  heaved a sigh. “Y/N, just answer the question.”
You checked your surroundings and whispered defensively. “For my own sanity, I had to fall back—you even told me to!”
Riri just listened.
“Nothing happened beyond what you saw at the club,” You added. “We didn’t kiss, sleep together, none of that…”
Suddenly the doors parted, making room for Shuri, and silencing you and Riri.
“Y’all need to talk,” Riri insisted, eyes darting between you and Shuri. “Let me get back to work.”
“I have to work, too,” You said, shaking your head. “Did you want to talk to me?” You looked at Shuri searchingly, who wore a stoic expression.
She looked at you for a moment. Then, she shook her head. “No, you can go in.”
~
To make up for her moodiness, Shuri treated her team out that same night. She mingled with her staff—except for you. Though beneath her shades, she kept a watchful eye on you. There was something about you that warranted her protection. She knew how the club and how people could be.
She was surprised to see you drinking. Though, your reaction to the liquor was comical. You spit it out just as fast as you’d sipped it. This caused you to stain your clothes. Riri was hysterical. Fortunately, as Shuri presumed, Riri accompanied you to the bathroom.
Suddenly, a manicured hand reached for Shuri’s tapered cut but was intercepted by Okoye.
“Sorry, general, I just wanted to dance with the Queen, is that okay?” The woman responded mildly exasperated. Okoye looked at Shuri, who nodded. Okoye moved back to her position on the side but kept her eye on the woman.
Shuri’s shielded eyes traveled up the woman’s curvaceous frame. She allowed the woman to wrap her arms around her neck. The intensity of the woman’s perfume practically burned Shuri’s nose. Shuri turned her face, wincing, and gently holding the woman’s waist.
“I’m sorry,” Shuri told the woman before excusing herself. Okoye and Aneka following her.
Shuri went to the ladies’ room where you and Riri still were.
“Just take it to the cleaner’s, it’ll be alright,” Riri was saying as you furiously attempted to rid the purple stain from your cream-colored number.
“Hey Shuri,” Riri said in between a chortle. “Do you see this?”
Shuri gave a half-smile. “I don’t know why you were drinking to begin with.”
You looked at her through the mirror. Because I can.”
Shuri just smirked and you watched as she splashed some cold water on her face.
“Don’t ask,” she said, knowing she had yours and Riri’s attention.
“Oooh, they’re playing my song!” Riri exclaimed. “I’m sorry, Y/N, Shuri is gonna have to take over, I’ve been in here long enough.” She rushed out the door.
“I might as well just suck it up,” You sighed, defeated.
Shuri removed her leather jacket and held it out to you. Looking at it and then her, you softly declined.
“Suit yourself,” she said, sniffing into a paper towel.
“What happened to you?”
Shuri finished with the paper towel, her nose reddening. “This woman, her perfume was overpowering.”
You burst into giggles.
“You’re laughing, but it made my nose hurt,” Shuri said, smiling small. You laughed harder when she started sneezing.
“Okay, that’s enough,” she said, rolling her eyes playfully after wiping her nose once more.
“Yeah, you better keep your jacket, girl.”
“Hush.”
“Make me.” You then chuckled. Shuri cornered you and you quickly grabbed her hands. You held up her tattooed hand and admired it again. “I was supposed to get mine.”
“Oh, you didn’t get it?” You shook your head. “I can take you.”
Shuri was amused and moved by you analyzing and tracing her tattoo. She also secretly enjoyed your touch. “You’re just trying to get out of being tickled,” she said.
You tightened your hold on her hands even more making her cackle.
“I love your hands,” You blurted.
For the first time you saw her blush. “Yeah? What do you love about them?”
“They’re strong yet delicate. Just like you.” You smiled.
“You’re so corny, Y/N.”
“Yeah, whatever, I told no lies.” You turned away from her.
Shuri backed you against the counter, making you yelp. She learned it was because you got some water on you. Her mouth was covered by her own hand in shock. You pushed her away from you.
“I am so sorry!”
You grumbled and went towards the door, Shuri fast on your tail.
“Come on, I have clothes in my car,” she said.
“Y/N, what happened now?” Riri questioned when Shuri announced that you were leaving.
“This one got me wet,” You said, sternly pointing at Shuri.
“In what way?” Riri wriggled her eyebrows.
“Riri, don’t start, I’m embarrassed as it is,” You retorted. “Shuri, let’s go.”
Riri smiled. “I’m just glad to see y’all like this again.”
“How are you getting home?” Shuri asked her. “You should come with us.”
“Kenya is meeting me here.”
“Let’s just wait until she gets here,” Shuri suggested to you, to which you readily agreed. You both went outside and she fetched a pair of basketball shorts and a sports bra for you to change into in the backseat. Shuri, Okoye, and Aneka waited outside.
When you’d already finished, moments later, Shuri opened the car door.  “I just met Kenya at the door. We’re good to go.” She looked you and up and down and smiled. “Don’t you look cute.”
Shuri took you home, but didn’t let you get out of the car just yet. Instead of discussing what she wanted to with you during the ride, she chose to bring it up now.
“I’m just gonna come right out and say it…I’ve fallen for you. I know it’s only been going on three weeks, but not a day goes by that I don’t think of you and wish I could be right there. It was torture when you pulled back, then to top it off, you were dating that Zen-daya girl. I was miserable, angry, and confused, and taking it out on my team, which wasn’t cool. I never expected to fall for you let alone anyone. Not so fast, not like this. But here I am…not wanting or thinking about anyone but you.”
Your mouth was ajar. This time you’d gasped albeit quietly.
“True story,” Shuri confirmed.
“…I was not expecting that!”
“Hmm.” She smiled to herself.
You were truly flabbergasted. You had heard that Shuri was a player, plus you were her employee—you didn’t imagine she only wanted you and all to herself.
As if reading your mind, she continued, “I know you’ve heard…bad things about me when it comes to my dating life, and I want you to know I will prove to you that none of this is a game to me.” Her eyes held yours in earnest. After a beat, she laughed some, grasping your chin. “You should really close your mouth before something goes in it.”
“I’m truly flabbergasted…”
Shuri nodded. “This is a lot to take in, so I’ll give you as much time as you need. I promise I’ll be patient.” She leaned over the console and pressed a kiss to your forehead. “Let’s get you inside, yeah?”

Let me go ahead and list the reasons why nashuri/namuri shippers are blind and delusional....
1. He literally killed her mother. (That should be reason enough...)
2. Literally tried to kill Shuri herself.
3. Killed many of innocent civilians in the golden tribe bc only one of his ppl died.
4. Shuri didn't keep the bracelet she literally destroyed it and made and made the flower with it.
5. Stabbed a whole ass spear through shuris chest.
6.huge ass age gap.
7. Imagine shuri having to tell her, and namors children why they can't meet their grandma. Like It doesn't matter how gently you put it it's not gon sound forgivable. "Mommy why can't I meet grandma". "Well baby she died". "How did she die". "Your to young to understand"
Gets older
"Mom you never told me how grandma died". "Well daddy killed my mother because we didn't let our friend riri get executed".
Child:😧😟
7. Ik i said he killed her mom, but can we go back to the fact straight after when he saw shuri bawling her eyes out at the sight of her mother lying lifeless on the floor. He had the nerve to say, "You are queen now."
BITCH WHAT YALL NOT SEEING. There a difference from let's say batman x catwoman or a detective x their target, But shuri x mother murder/attempted murderer is to much.
Take it from a person who eats enemies to lover breakfast lunch and dinner.

Just throwing out an idea but like maybe an imagine/series (your choice) where the reader is a dancer who wants to dance to one of Jamie’s original songs 🤭
Runaway Hearts
Jamie Harrison x FEM reader
Tumblr media
Summary: you're a dancer who attends the same school as Jamie and you want to partner up with Jamie for a song but you realize Jamie might be more interested in you than just your dancing. Of course this isn't a problem.
Your day usually ends with a bit of stretching and a dress change before you head home to your shared apartment but today there's another task on the list it's to talk to Jamie Harrison about a project. You're pretty sure she's going to have plenty of dancers wanting to do one of her original songs because her voice is beautiful but you want that spot and you'll do whatever is required to get that spot. So here you are standing outside of the class watching as she grabs her things and you're planning the interaction as you stand at the end of the hallway. You watch the others start to leave the room and when you see her you walk forward looking at your phone when her shoulder bumps yours to you immediately apologize "I'm so sorry oh Jamie well I needed to run into you anyways" she nods "it's fine I'm sorry too and what about?" You smile as you've finally gotten the chance to see her up close to talk to her "there's a project I have to do and I would like you to be a part of it" she's curious now her eyebrows are furrowing as she holds her bag. "What's the project?" You smile "the dancers are supposed to find a song and express it through dance and I wanted to do one of yours." She blinks a couple of times before smiling widely "you're kidding me...one of mine?" You nod and she smacks her hands to her face before smiling "I'm sorry that's just so unexpected what song?" You shrug "any of them I love your voice there's so much emotion in it." You realize you're staring and turn your gaze to your hands "and I was hoping this would somehow let me get closer to you." She smiles and nods but misses the whole point "sure I'm still on campus until the bus comes down here I could show you now?" You nod "or I could give you a ride home and you could show me there?" She smiles nervously and nods "yeah."
You two share these nervous stares you're never nervous but with her it's all you can be. "Uhm yeah I'll give you a ride home come on my car is outside" of course it's outside where else would it possibly be? In the air perhaps? You interlock your arm with hers simply because you have a faster stride than she does but it doesn't feel like that to her she just stares at you the admiration in her eyes very noticeable but you aren't paying any attention. This woman shorter than her just guiding her through the hall she's whipped immediately as you confidently guide her she watches everything about you in the moment the way your walk has a bounce to it and the way you confidently keep your head high. She's in love just like that she's in love.
You lead her to her car and only then do you let her arm go "sorry didn't want to lose you" she just smiles when you unlock the car, turn on the heat and turn towards her "are you good? Are you warm enough? I got a cover in the back" Jamie shakes her head "no I'm alright anyone ever tell you you're really sweet?" You smile and shrug "that's just the way I was raised mama did good on her own. Jamie smiles at that comment even though deep down it hurts her because her mother wasn't around.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The whole ride was just silent pining you want the music and maybe her she's sure that she wants you... She's just so sweet and quiet though she'd never just hook-up with someone she attends school with. Welp you're assuming that you don't really know Jamie you've only ever seen her sing and that's why you fell in love. Okay it's sad but that's the truth her voice just does everything for you. You could live off of it, procreate with it, and bury yourself with it... Okay that's going a bit far but it's true. Hey voice is truly that amazing to you and that's why you've got to dance to her song. When you stop in front of the apartment neither of you move you just turn the car off and sit in silence for a moment. It's a comfortable silence.
You turn towards her a gentle smile playing on your face as you look at her without much of a warning she kisses you but quickly pulls away as if she's been shocked by her own actions. "Shit I'm sorry I just really wanted to do that you were staring at me and I thought that that's what that meant..." You start laughing so much you put your head down on the console and just laugh until tears form in your eyes. "I'm sorry I truly am but you shouldn't panic when you kiss someone it means you want to do it." She nods "but do you want to do it?" You smile and nod "yeah I was thinking about kissing you. You just took the shot before me" she laughs and nods "I probably shouldn't kiss strangers but you just keep looking at me like that it makes me want to kiss you." You smile "uhm about the song I didn't really need to come here to hear it I kind of already have one in mind... "Broken hearted mess" you shared it with your class one day I was just in to borrow something and I heard it that's the one I want to dance to." She smiles although it was a sad song it was the complete opposite of both your feelings right now neither of you are broken hearted it actually feels as if being around each other makes your hearts tighten enough that they'd like to run off on their own. "That one doesn't really express you are you sure?" You smile and nod "yes I'm sure but doesn't express me?" She nods "it doesn't at all it's sad and broken and I think you'd like "Runaway Hearts" more it's talking about a couple who wants to be together but are too scared to tell each other and they don't actually ever say it it just happens..." You stare at her admiring her as she speaks and pronounces her words clearly. "You think that that fits me?" She smiles "I know it fits you I've watched you dance you're great at it you can do so many things with your body and express so many situations it's challenging but I believe only you could do it." She doesn't have to beg you she's convinced you enough and you nod "of course on one condition" she nods "you invite me in and we listen to the song together" she smiles and nods "absolutely."
A/n: unedited but hey who gives a damn? Enjoy this it's really soft and fluffy feels I'm not sure if I should make this a series though.
