What are Drifa's first opinions of the companions before she gets to know them?

Lae'zel: First companion she would meet, immediately understands she's very brave and 'knows what she's doing', respects. As time goes on, I think Drífa's indifference towards her comments/insults would wane, she would ignore it/not understand what she's saying, or would just think she's making a comment like 'you have an ugly large nose' and drifa is like 'you have no nose, see drífa have eyes', then would probably get tired of it, poking the bear, but remain stoic which i think would bother lae'zel more than getting a reaction lolol. Lae'zel hates Drífa... or does she.... :)

Shadowheart: Second companion, small elf girl, anytime shadowheart is like 'i don't wanna talk about it' drífa's like 'aight' and leaves, which is why shadowheart likes her now. Drífa is concerned, a small elf all alone. Feels shes quite small and fragile to be into the things shes talking about, but whatever. literally has no idea who shar is so is like 'cool goddess, i respect your faith' because drifa also follows a rather fierce goddess. Drifa prefers to listen over talking, so they get along well. shadowheart is desperately trying to smash rn

Gale: Pulled this weirdo out of a rock, a malnourished human, appears sickly. Drífa is confused by most of what he says, but he is rather poetic so she enjoys the 'nonsense' he talks about. Now she has 3 main landers to take care of. Gale talks way too much, but it is entertaining to her. She does not like that he believes he could compete with a goddess.... the gods are gods for a reason, to think you could understand their meaning, or be equal to one is conceited to her. She understands it's because of 'love', but she is weary. Gale is trying to smash now in my play through.

Astarion: weird little malnourished elf man. He also talks to much. Drífa has two talkative dramatic tiny boys and two ladies that hate each other so she's kinda remembering why she lived in isolation for 35 years. Astarion she probably views like a cat, like seeks attention when he wants it, eats what he wants, believes he's the best one here. She is not afraid of him being a vampire because she simply would never let an elf fell her, that would be a true dishonor. he's mildly offended. She doesn't tolerate his dislike of children, but typically doesn't really care what he does.

Wyll: Another little guy with sad eyes. Another human. Drifa likes him, he's polite, seems to know what he's doing, seems 'the most normal' plus has seen his share of battle (like lae'zel) so she's glad to have him along. Obviously when things go down she's like 'wow... yet another guy with baggage with a blue lady...' side eying gale. She likes his stories, listens intently to his deeds of good and protecting the sword coast, overall likes him but is still like 'here is another small human- oops small devil for my collection'

Karlach: Finally someone who looks like they're a warrior. Likes her, feels like she doesn't need to protect/take care of, which is good so she can focus her energies on the softies of the party. Drífa would like Karlach, she's a bit blunt and a bit more energetic than Drífa is used to, but probably likes that. Karlach's dancing, lust for life, and fire would be highly approved. I think Drífa wouldn't really get why she's sad about not being touched

Halsin: another gd ELF, but this ones big and can turn into a bear so thats ok. I think they'd have a lot in common but Drífa views him more as a tree hugger. She appreciates nature, so i think they could get along well.... though she finds him confusing... she doesn't feel like she needs to worry about him, and he's pretty forward and upfront so it works out well.

There are all first impressions. Drífa was raised to take care of herself and herself only, keep to her own, and that strength = power, because her lifestyle is very physically demanding. Being big and strong is important, being fat and strong is more important to survive frozen winters etc. She is a loner suddenly surrounded by people for the first time in her life, and is doing her best to keep them alive because obviously they need her help and this is a mission given to her by her goddess, why else would she have sent the ship to take her, to bring her to these people...

… when does Yunzhong realize that the goddess of Xishan is the very same fairy/not fairy he had whipped for being ‘Moon Tribe’ ??? Bc I could really gd easily see him not putting that two and two together even after she’s run off to kiss the fucking manifestation of Taisui that’s ((even WORSE)) the Yuezun himself.

He’d be like, 500 years later and drinking tea with his younger brother, and flexing how much more elegant he is, digging at him for running off to play ~mortal~ and blaming him for not securing the marriage between Shuiyuntian and the Goddess, and how awful it is that she’s now firmly a ruler of their Rival Kingdom, when Changheng just slaps a scroll down and reams him out for actively driving his beloved into another man’s arms, because his prejudice had narrowed his worldview so badly that he forgot there was a 3rd conclusion to reach when playing a rousing round of ‘if not fairy, then [____]?’

OK, up to the coronation (aka route split), but I couldn't include the coronation notes without hitting char limit.

I don't actually have too much to say here, since it's just the Kronya stuff, which... doesn't really reveal much. I'll just note that Kronya's sword has her as "Disciple Kronya" which I guess is interesting.

Since there's nothing else, I guess there's the point regarding what people know about each other going into the big part one finale:

Solon referred to Byleth as "Fell Star" already when casting Zahras, so the Agarthans had cottoned on about Byleth's situation at least in part, likely due to the Sword of the Creator.

As mentioned before, Edelgard and Hubert know that Demonic Beasts can be created artificially, and I would even say that some artificial ones already exist.

It is mentioned by several characters that Byleth's minty green color is "familiar" or "like someone else" and Flayn even directly says they match now. This is a super easy connection to make.

Seteth seems to not know that Agarthans can shapeshift, which works with Thales not wanting Kronya's body to be taken so that the specifics of their shapeshifting aren't discovered. iirc Seteth does obliquely refer to the Agarthans as being the likely culprits.

The Flame Emperor and the Death Knight being antagonists is at least known to Dimitri even though he theoretically wasn't around for the missions when we see them. Monica being an imposter is common knowledge after the fact. You doing a ceremony to receive a revelation from the goddess is common knowledge.

Anyway, the most interesting part starts after this.

Live blogging notes:

The Blue Sea star is not visible in winter. I kind of headcanon it as a planet in the same solar system, not an actual star in a different star system, but it being visible Jul to Dec and then invisible the rest of the year matches more with actual stars.

Linhardt: I hate blood and killing :( (is friends with Hubert somehow)

Manuela: you need 13 charm to win; Sylvain: has 21 (albeit after the +5)

The contestants are Sylvain (from me, because I think he's cute), Dimitri (who forced him into this?? he's so desperate NOT to get picked and yet??), and Raphael (Claude apparently showing his sense of humor).

I do not understand why the "dance competition" is doing waltz movements... alone. Especially when the dancer outfit is like that...? That's not a waltz outfit. And why are they dancing alone?! Listen, I've only seen AMVs of dancing animes but, it was definitely way cooler.

You know, when GD made the promise to meet in 5 years, it was kind of cute. Not terribly meaningful, since their relationships were quite casual on the whole, but cute. Having Edelgard suggest it, knowing what she's planning barely months from now, is...... it's pretty messed up. It doesn't help that the Eagles don't really have a sense of camaraderie either.

Same cinematic for the ball. It was kind of one thing when Claude takes you by the hand and pulls you onto the dance floor (?) in GD, though the focus on Edelgard and Dimitri was pretty pointless, but here, it's just weird.

It's vaguely annoying that you can't choose who you meet at the Goddess Tower. I got Marianne on GD, and I got Ashe here... presumably because I recruited him by getting his B rank.

The chapel is within the monastery's walls.

OK, poking at the Demonic Beasts in the chapel, they are "Experimental Demonic Beasts" with "A shard from a shattered Crest Stone" embedded in their foreheads. They are a "more resilient variation." Although this won't be unique to them, they're also labelled as both "monsters" (unnatural beings wielding magic) and "dragons" (born or descended from the goddess herself).

There are 4 beasts and 3 students in trouble.

Jeralt suggests that the students being turned into beasts has "something to do with Remire," but I have come to doubt that Remire was a test run or directly related to the same research. The timeline is just too tight, and the Sothis paralogue won't make sense.

Thales tells Kronya she must survive because there's a role he needs her to fulfil, but then Solon will kill her in like a month. In a scene later, he says that his only aim was actually to keep the mystery of their bodies from being revealed, which would happen if Kronya died (her body could be taken by the Church, I guess).

Worth noting that Seteth is very confused about Tomas and clearly does not know that Agarthans can shapeshift.

The explanation for why Byleth accepts Jeralt's death is still so weak. "It's fate," says Sothis. OK, but like, why. Because Thales said so??

Guardian Moon (January) is named after Seiros, who first appeared during this month.

The scene with Edelgard after Jeralt's death is a bit... She starts with a very tough love "have you lost the will to act" approach and discusses how no one can understand your sadness. Others can only offer the tears of an outsider. So she won't cry for you or stand still with you, she can only promise to offer her hand when the time comes for HER to move forward. Which is such a weird direction to take? What does this promise have to do with Byleth grieving?

Thales describes the Flame Emperor as their greatest creation, powerful enough to "burn even the gods." So it seems like they experimented on Edelgard specifically to create a powerful soldier who could face Rhea.

Based on this, it does seem like Edelgard targeting the church is a combination of needing to keep the Agarthans cooperating with her by going along with their aims and getting rid of the Knights in case their interfere (since the Knights supported Loog's separation from the empire). Very impersonal, despite how she sometimes frames it.

Edelgard directly tells Thales that there will be no salvation for their kind and blames them for Duscur (and the shit they caused in Enbarr, presumably the Insurrection of the Seven?).

Sylvain says that most noble children are tested at birth to see if they have a crest. Of course, he also says you can't be the heir without one, but like... Ingrid's family wants to marry her out and she's specifically the only one with the crest, so...

The dancer animation is killing me. It's so stupid.

Hubert suggests that the real aim behind Jeralt's murder was to provoke the Knights into spreading themselves thin hunting his killer.

Manuela says the dagger that killed Jeralt wasn't made of iron or steel and the wound it caused wasn't ordinary.

A lot of the named Church people are out of the monastery this month. Which means you can't train with them, which is annoying...

Dorothea casually drops how she had to survive kidnappings, attempted murders, and who knows what while at the opera. Girl, what??

Linhardt mentions, as we're entering the Sealed Forest, that we have no official mission this month. I guess things were too chaotic to assign us anything.

Kronya is using a sword called Athame, which is described as being crafted with archaic methods. Kronya herself is referred to as "Disciple Kronya." She also has a passive called "Agarthan technology" which makes adjacent foes deal 3 less damage. Is this the weird tentacles she has behind her?

Regarding the Sealed Forest itself, there's some ruins, the platform Kronya waits on (where Solon casts Zahras, which uses the pillars on the edges), a glowing red stone embedded in a sigil on a ruin wall, and the remains of mechanical weapon (I think the kind Rhea keeps in the Tomb in her paralogue?).

It snows on the Locket, I guess because the Throat is a mountain range.

The Holy Mausoleum vs Holy Tomb thing is SO confusing that Rhea has a dialogue line that uses the wrong one lmao

Everyone at the monastery knows we're going to receive a revelation, but Manuela mentions that this is the first time she's heard of the Holy Tomb.

One of the Knights at the monastery mentions that he noticed more people in town than usual. Edelgard's hidden troops are on the move...

Dimitri mentions "this month's mission," so it seems Blue Lions have one, which should NOT be going down into the Tomb with Byleth... I would say this, but Felix's dialogue expects you to do something about Dimitri and like... he's not in my class, dude...

Usher is performing at the halftime show and it sucks that more people are gonna post about Taylor Swift than him and his performance

(So I know the superbowl was yesterday but I've been really busy with my mom's recent diagnosis.)

I completely understand where you're coming from friend!!! I'm not much for football anymore (when I was a kid I loved the cowboys but honestly ever since will smiths concussion I can't support american football anymore).

BUT!!! Centering on the issue at hand tswift's fandom can be very toxic and like her pr bf is apparently very temperamental??? and there's this whole thing with everyone being all invested with their obvious pr stunt relationship. (look I know I know those in glass houses and all but I would like to think that when I share pix of tom/zendaya and hiddles/zawe you all know I'm just doing it because Zendaya and Zawe are literally goddesses and if they deign to pick mayo mortals perhaps there's love for all of us).

And like anyone in fandom has some level of unhealthy parasocial real life couple that is just so fascinating...

Thing is tho... Usher worked very hard for all his success and he seems to have been forgotten this superbowl for tswift and her pr bf.

Like I grew up with Usher and I will always be an usher fan (something something about how he gets passed over for being such a pretty boy and isn't giving the same amount of opportunity as other white idols from the same period *cough*britney*cough)

It just like... reminds me of that poll that made the rounds when spotify wrapped came out. you know the one? It was like how many artists do you have before your first Black Artist????

And to be honest I felt bad because I only had 3 Black artists in my top 10 (if I remember correctly I it was Beyonce, Stromae, Kid Cudi, just checked and it was but I was wrong on a technicality Halsey was in my top ten but she's white passing). Anyways we had some WILD ass takes about it everywhere on tumblr. I wanted to make a post about it but like we still don't have any Black mods so I didn't feel qualified. The takes were defensive and derisive and overall very anti black.

And that's the thing about swiftnation she's the current mayo obsession and like to my knowledge she's never dated a moc before. but her fanbase... is so gd toxic and white supremacist.

Anyways I hope Usher comes out with a concert tour and a movie and like all the things. He deserves it tbh.

Also sidenote for the elder millenials that remember she's all that do you remember Usher in that cameo as the dj??? THAT'S HOW GD OLD I AM LOL.

🧭 - What led you to your practice?

It's a long story, so here's a much abridged version. I used to be Catholic and made it all the way through Confirmation, during which I took the name Brigid, because her stories just resonated with me for some reason. But when I was a junior in high school, I was trying desperately to feel represented as an afab person in my religion while at the same time delving heavily into witchcraft, which led be briefly to a sort of Catholic-Wicca syncretism, then just Wicca for a few months, then when I realized Wicca didn't make any gd sense to me, I switched over to polytheism proper. Some advice I found initially when I started looking was to look into the gods of your ancestors, so I started looking into Irish gods and Celtic Recon and I've been here ever since. For a few years I was syncretic with Norse Polytheism, but it feels like that chapter in my life is closed. Right now I'm focused on the Gaelic gods, but I also worship/work with local land spirits, Hades, Brythonic spirits, and will occasionally throw a petition to a saint on behalf of one of my Catholic family members

🌞 - Which deity(ies) are you closest to/do you worship the most often?

I'm devoted to Brighid 🥰🥰🥰 You'll note that I took her name even before I was pagan, so I like to think I've been her creature since the beginning

The second deity (I'm using that term because 'spirit' doesn't feel right) I devote a ton of mental space to is the Mississippi River. I tend to think of river spirits in terms of goddesses, just cause that's how they're normally depicted in the Celtic mythologies, and I haven't gotten the vibe that she objects with those terms. However, because I'm no where near the Mississippi River or her tributaries atm, I can't really work with her? It doesn't feel right, because my experience of her is so localized to back home. But in the spring when I can be outside for extended periods without turning into a popsicle, I'm going to start trying to develop a relationship with the Penobscot River in earnest. I cross her every day on the way to school. She has a lovely energy

The other deities I regularly devote space to are the Morrigan and Hades. They both got my attention during periods in my life related to death. They're not particularly vocal or active, but the crows make it clear they're still around

I humbly lay a request for fByleth/sylvain “i missed you”/surprised/kiss at dusk for GD Professor Byleth after the millennium bandit fight meetup where all the deers show up, but sylvain doesn’t and By finds herself worried sick over if he could have died in the 5 years she was gone, but he arrives just as the sun is setting 😳🤭 thank you 🥺

(I have little to no idea why I let this idea sit around so long, seeing as you wrote an entire outline for me 0_o Sorry about that. Onward! To Sylvain kissing!)

“I missed you” kiss + Surprised + Kiss at Dusk

It didn’t take long for the Golden Deer to set to work. Once Claude declared Garreg Mach the seat from which they would drive back the Empire, everyone seemed eager to do their part. Byleth watched with pride as her students ran around the monastery-- divvying up tasks and securing food for the next few days. At times they seemed so different from the kids she had taught. And then Raphael would give his booming laugh or Lysithea would snap at Claude and it would feel like no time had passed.

As the day progressed, more and more former students arrived, each apologizing profusely for being late to the millennium reunion. Amusingly, no one seemed terribly surprised to see Byleth. They greeted her with hugs or beaming smiles, sometimes with awe and excitement, but none of them seemed shocked. As if they’d always known she would appear as promised.

It was all a whirlwind to Byleth. She spoke little, mostly absorbing as much information as she could get. The status of the war and the Empire, what her students had been up to, where the Church of Seiros and Seteth had relocated.

All the while, Byleth kept looking over her shoulder. Kept racing to the gate when someone new showed up. Kept unconsciously leaving room beside her when sitting for meals or meetings. Her chest constricted at any mention of the Kingdom, listening for one name in particular.

But by dinner, Sylvain still hadn’t returned to Garreg Mach.

Byleth found herself against a wall by the main gate, lost in thought as she watched the shadows grow long across the broken cobblestone road leading into the monastery. Sylvain had told her at the Goddess Tower that he would work to become the kind of man he could trust. She wanted to meet that man. She wanted to see him come riding up to the gates with his fiery hair and blazing grin.

Were things so bad in the north that he couldn’t make it to the reunion? Had he been waylaid by the Empire or bandits? Could he have simply forgotten?

Or... Five years was a long time. A long war. Was it possible Sylvain had... fallen?

Byleth’s fist tightened on her sword hilt. No. She pushed those thoughts away. Standing around staring at the road was ridiculous enough, she didn’t need to dwell on depressing thoughts while she was at it.

After another few minutes of listening for the sound of hooves on cobblestone, Byleth decided she was suitably disheartened, and turned to go back inside Garreg Mach.

But she hadn’t gone more than a few paces when someone raced around the abandoned blacksmith’s stall towards her. Byleth put a hand to her sword, tensing for another bandit.

Sylvain’s wide eyes found hers. He grinned, wide and unguarded. “Hey, Professor.” His hair was a little wilder, his chin a little stubbly, and his clothes a little different. But it was Sylvain all the same.

After thinking about him all evening-- all day, really-- Byleth couldn’t help but close the distance between them and hug Sylvain around the middle. “You’re safe,” she said, more to herself than to Sylvain.

He tensed in her arms. Likely he was startled-- Byleth wasn’t exactly known for physical expressions of affection. But it only took a beat of him to relax and hold her back, resting his chin atop her head and exhaling as if able to put down a burden for the first time in years. “Were you waiting for me here?” He asked with a note of amusement.

“How did you get in?”

“North gate. It was closer.”

That did make sense. Byleth made to step back but Sylvain held fast. “Little longer?” he pleaded. Byleth thought he was just teasing her, but then Sylvain ducked his head to her shoulder, his heartbeat thundering through her chest as his arms tightened ever so slightly.

It was comfortable. Soothing after an afternoon standing by a gate and counting cobblestones. Byleth got the feeling the hug has gone on longer than it should but she didn’t mind. Just let her eyes slip shut and lost herself in the feel of his breath against her neck, his fingers pressing into the small of her back.

Eventually, sunset colored the sky. Sylvain didn’t protest when Byleth pulled her head back, arms still around each other. “I’m glad you’re okay,” she said in the space between them, red now with the setting sun. “I didn’t like the idea of facing this war without you.”

She heard his sharp intake of breath but it wasn’t enough warning. Something in her chest tightened again when Sylvain kissed her. That same thing didn’t relax when he jerked back just as quickly.

“Sorry, I-- Sorry.” Sylvain let her go. His honey eyes had turned gold in the sun’s glare, filled with guilt and fear. “I just... missed you.”

Then it hit Byleth. The same worry, the same tangle of anxiety that she had felt all day waiting for him to return-- Sylvain had felt that for the past five years. It explained a few things. Like why he was avoiding her gaze and shifting uncomfortably, but had yet to make an excuse to run away.

Byleth smiled. He had promised her years ago to become a man she could trust. She would love to see his progress.

Taking Sylvain’s hand, Byleth began pulling him away from the front gates. “Come on. Let’s get you settled in. Have you eaten yet?”

“Is there something to eat around here?” Sylvain threaded their fingers together and let her take the lead. “Hasn’t this place been abandoned for years?”

“Dinner first, then.” Byleth asked Sylvain questions about the Kingdom as they walked and let his voice wash over her, let his hand tighten in hers, let them both soak in the fact that the other was alive and well.

And let herself wonder how to get another kiss.

I just think it's wild how Three Hopes really did its best work on the Blue Lions and improved some major aspects of them tenfold (such as not making them single trait tropes like tsundere whine whine Felix and can't-say-anything-but-stupid-flirty-shit Sylvain). They fixed every relationship (such as Annette and Gilbert, the Gautier family, Felix and Rodrigue, Dedue and Ingrid, etc) and all of the characters feel like real people and not just lazy tropes with little to no development.

Meanwhile the Deer and and Eagles are mostly worse versions of themselves (Ferdinand is just a regular ol' Edelgard simp and every aspect of his Houses character was completely wiped regarding his views and her; Dorothea is ten times worse and is nothing but an Edelgard simp who would literally canonically rather die than not be by her waifu's side; Caspar will fight and for Thales bc uwu Fr The Empire except that the Empire he loved and fought for is dead and has been for half a year by that point; Claude forget it we all know that story; Raphael is utterly brainless and doesn't have a kind bone in his body when it comes to invading other lands and just wants to punch innocent people who did nothing to him bc it makes him feel stronkers, etc).

Some non-BL characters got improvements (Leonie isn't 100% Jeralt centric, Hilda has more to her character than being lazy and whiny, Hubert is shown not to be a 110% callous jerk outside of anyone except Edelgard and has an easier time forming relationships with other Eagles), but overall most of them were made much worse.

Even non direct BL, GD and BE characters are included in this. Nader is way worse and is a happy violent pillager, Judith is just kinda mean for ??? some reason, Sothis is a crazed bitch for ??? some reason (apparently waking up a year earlier makes you bitchier if you're a goddess??? man I thought it was 220 years earlier haha Tellius joke inserted), and meanwhile Miklan gets a redemption arc enough to the point where his father of all people wants to avenge him.

Highkey feels like they poured all their effort into the Lions and let everything else go up in flames like a dumpster fire while for some reason (but also We Know Why) marketing the game with as much Edelwaifu as they could and making sure she's happy pappy and nobody can dare harm her because that would be an outrage. She can, of course, as ever, harm as much as she wants and it's Okay and Just and The Right Thing To Do.

Hopes really is a wild ride.

I still technically haven't played that one, I've just watched my partner play it... But Azure Gleam in 3Hopes was my favorite route, so I kinda wanna go back and play AM on my own now...

Toss-up between GD, which I am sentimental about and I think has the best standalone no-additional-context-needed story, and SS, which lets me side with the cool dragon people and I thought was a really fun/interesting narrative foil to BE (also... Seteth fulfilling the role of lord retainer... I am a simple person)

9. ✨ What is your favorite scene in the game (can be in the main story or a support convo)?

It's not very interesting but Chapter 6 and Chapter 9 were my favorites. I didn't know enough to expect that Jeralt's days were numbered so when he died, and when we got to see this unemotional/silent protagonist actually grieving him, I just got really invested.

Also, re: chapter 6, Seteth is A Wreck and I like that in a man. I also really like the white dragon scarf event and I like that the events in that chapter only become more insidious the more context you have.

Seteth... obviously. 😅 I just like how multifaceted he and Rhea turn out to be, and his teatime lines are just really... sweet. I also unironically love inviting Hubert to tea heheh, he's so dramatic I love him.

40. ✨ What character do you always recruit, no matter which route you are playing and why?

Seteth is an auto-recruit sooo... Lorenz and Ferdinand!! Look, I KNOW Lorenz is a disaster but I love his character development no matter what route he's on, and I like making him a dark knight. Ferdinand I recruit mostly to be a good influence on Lorenz, and also because I think he's such a strong personality that he adds narrative interest no matter what route you're doing (he's either throwing everything he has into helping the Empire or he's throwing everything he has into opposing it, and I think both sides are interesting).

41. ✨ What is a favorite character headcanon (can be one you came up with or one you liked / adopted from someone else)?

With regards to the extra lore we got in Hopes, I like the idea that all the Nabateans' hair used to be lighter/blonder when they were in close proximity to the Goddess. I would kill for more art/writing 👏 exploring 👏 that!

I also headcanon a religious schism between Rhea & Seteth where she is of the belief that the Goddess isn't dead and could possibly return at any moment, and he (at least up until the events of the game) thinks that the Goddess is definitely dead and gone. It's subtle, but it adds some extra interest for me.

I ALSO really like that one crack theory I've seen floating around that Kronya and Ferdinand are somehow related. What this means for the story, I have no idea, I just think it's neat :)

//A rundown of my og “Myrmidon Singularity”, ft Rea as Master, because I’ve put a lot of thoughts into it even if nothing 100% ‘solid’ script or time (beyond “During Part 1″) wise or anything. :]

EARLY/MAIN STORY BEATS:

new singularity appears, exact location can’t be pinned down beyond ‘east-central europe’ at first (with guesstimates ranging from as East as Italy, West as Black Sea, and to the coasts of the Baltic & Mediterranean Seas north & south-wise)

Rea and co. head there, the merry band including Scathach, who volunteered

Usual hunt for locals ft wyverns enemies, map fucky wucky bc of magical concentration in the atmosphere; Why Are You So High You

Saved from Giant Mob courtesy of mysterious Servant aka [local/Myrmidon!] Chiron... who ? promptly ?? kisses Rea ????????????

what. (Da Vinci and Romani are spitting their coffee for completely different reasons [she’s amused as shit, he’s mortified], everyone on site is losing their shit for Obvs Reasons, Where Is Ur Hr Manager Sir)

Much embarrassment and even more apologies gods forgive him later Chiron explains he thought she was his wife ?? even though shes a shapeshifter??? @/Scathach if ur gonna kill him can he show u the way to the king first hes so sowwy

Meet up with the King Consort amidst other battles; he’d been leading local soldiers in monster patrols or what have you and was concerned when Chiron used his NP; also lore dumps local history to the Chaldea grew while they’re there

smth smth the gods they’d thrown into Tartarus have suddenly been trying to break out via monsters corruption etc etc; Romani loredumps irl myth abt the Titans, Chiron & His Majesty oo and aa over Chaldea tech

includes much lovemail abt King Ligyron bc, yeah. and also seconding Rea’s weird resemblance to Chiron’s wife. mostly lovemail though. he’s not the consort for no gd reason

Make their way to a sprawling luxurious & prosperous city built into a valley’s side, the capital of the kingdom of the Myrmidons

On Chaldea’s end the sensors/maps stabilize into Northern Greece; explains Chiron and the local culture & its aesthetics

Takes them straight to the King... who is Achilles ??

and also has no idea who Pelleus is???

he’s a full god (presumably son of either Zeus or Poseidon?)?

and he overthrow Olympus/Zeus/the last gen of gods ??????

(also the king consort is Patroclus <3)

(he is Also also weirded out by Rea’s resemblance to Chiron wife, way more than Pat was)

After Chaldea explain their confusion courtesy of their Vastly Different irl-based mythologies, Myrmidon!Achilles (aka Ligyron-Achilles on his summonable card, Lancer, or still just Ligyron for Chaldea grew in the Singularity to keep things straight) explains that, here:

the prophecy about Thetis’s son didn’t come in time [as in, before he was conceived], so he’s a Full God

Olympus’s fear of him [read: Poseidon/Zeus’s] led to lots of awful shit of hunting etc of Thetis and later Achilles himself

he was hidden away with Chiron & trained by him

instead of simply protecting himself & his mother when he gained his full strength, Achilles instead rebelled against Olympus wholesale and won

included heroes from Trojan War??? to rhyme his og history’s fame found there

instead decided to have his personal slice of kingdom in Greece bc god or no he preferred humans. also spite of not even bothering to make use of the crown trophy of the old gods [olympus]

yeeted Zeus, Poseidon, and the other Olympians that didn’t submit to his rule/victory down into Tartarus, joining the Titans (Worst Roomie Situation Ever, rip. awkwaaaaaaaard)

Some diversions and emergency side-quests later, and Queen Mother Thetis makes her appearance in court to give her son regularly scheduled tlc & advice & concern

She’s a literal Goddess so of course she’s a Pseudo-Servant (Caster) except her host is Rea. Oh hello.💡

Polite, demure; super fucking quiet n subdued compared to Rea Herself. V amused by it tho!

Chiron’s wife; shapeshifts some multicolored seafoam hair on to make them distinct; explains they met when she’d sneak in to see how Achilles/Ligyron was doing with his training

Ligyron says he��ll help Chaldea and their quest to save humanity etc... after they help him solve his Olympi-Titan problem :]

Chaldea crew has politely omitted the nature of Singularities as well as just how :[ Achilles and co’s fates are in og history. it’s fine.

FINALE STORY BEATS:

With magi-comms setup to communicate with the smaller groups they split up into (so the Myrmidons can both handle city security etc while Also helping out Chaldea with info etc), eventually defeat the rebelling Olympians & Titans

There is ?? No Holy Grail?? Nor a change in the Singularity’s status. the fuck.

They come back to Ligyron empty handed and confused af, he puzzles over how to help

Eventually, somehow, they figure out the source of the Singularity is not a Holy Grail but Ligyron himself. the power of a literal god-king who wasn’t supposed to manifest? mayhaps fueled/’heart’ of a Holy Grail itself?

Ligyron, being Ligyron (Achilles), agrees with a grin to sacrifice himself so Chaldea can save their own world; he’s done his job of overthrowing Olympus, n founding/stabilizing his kingdom, fought battles he never could’ve imagined between said overthrowing of Olympus and fighting them once more with others from a different world (nvm one who looks like his mom!), says farewell to Patroclus but assures him he’ll see him in Elysium so dwai beloved see you before you know it (still be sure to live long tho!), Chiron says he’s proud of him, etc

Ligyron dissipates, and the Singularity starts to collapse

And Thetis.

Loses.

Her. SHIT.

The Singularity doesn’t disappear, and instead resettles into a barren and craggy landscape; their location snaps somewhere else(? somewhen?) on Chaldea’s sensors/maps, but Romani doesn’t get time to specify where

Thetis, now white haired & yellow-eyed and an Avenger, wails and screams and rages about how “you ruin EVERYTHING” and goes straight for Rea’s throat

Servants keep fighting her to a standstill, as Thetis rips into Rea verbally—except it’s way more personal than it should be, targeting not just her actions but her personal character flaws, her insecurities, her own rage and wrath and ruin, her.

Monologuing reveals Thetis, in life, ‘slaughtered Troy’ and all the soldiers; after trying to kill Zeus, was imprisoned (and implicitly tortured) for millennia; from a different timeline altogether, rather than being another product of the Singularity, or a corrupted Servant of proper history like Jalter

Thetis is way more powerful than she ought to be; eventually seals off her and Rea from all the Servants with her Noble Phantasm; Chaldea staff fucking going as fast as they can trying to force a Rayshift, either to get Rea out or other Servants where they can get to her

Thetis decides to smack down with Rea one and one, going for flow and brutal instead of instant ko

Her ranting includes poisonous and viscerally accurate [in their executions] insistences that they’re no different, and begins to use “we” not just for herself and Rea, but Thetis alone

Torture via attacking Rea’s crest directly? Probably

“Why! Won’t! You! Break!”

Servants break through the barrier just enough for Scathach to launch her god-killer Gae Bolg, and it’s a direct hit

...To Thetis’s illusion, but it’s still fatal.

To both of them

Thetis’s illusions morphing others’ perception of where BOTH of them were/are

Thetis’s hysteria turns gleeful, because See? See? See what being kind gets you, gIrL?

Everyone’s screaming freaking out, ALL the healers rushing in both past Thetis’s shattered barrier and via Rayshift

Scathach isn’t surprised, tight though her features are

Rea’s stabilized/saved, not via her Servant’s capabilities (a human receiving a Gae Bolg through the chest, after all), but via a Pseudo-Servant / fusion of her own

it’s og/Caster Thetis, able to do so via Thetis Alter’s spirit origin serving as a ‘beacon’/catalyst

Gg great job Rea gets taken home n healed into infinity n rests for a fucking month bc, jesus

They leave the Singularity’s with little more than a pool of blood at its heart: the island of Leuke in the Black Sea, the final resting placing of Achilles

CONCLUSIONS & FORESHADOWINGS:

Thetis (Avenger) was not just an alter of og/history’s Thetis, but Rea herself; in a worldline where Thetis massacred Troy et al for the death of her son, millennia later Riel Rodas would ‘break’ herself to unknown tragedy and call Thetis (Avenger) to her to become a Pseudo-Servant

Thetis was not just a water goddess but creator goddess, either pre-dating Chaos or an incarnation of Chaos itself (hence her ability to create a 100% fabricated Singularity); used the Holy Grail as an ‘anchor’ for it instead, trying to revive her dead son by avoiding the first of her tragedies and the root of his death in the first place: his having a mortal father

Rea herself is implicitly way more fucked up internally?? Since she knows Thetis (Alter) wasn’t a 100% divorced being from herself, despite others’ insistences

Scathach hiding for a long hot sec n Rea doing her damnedest to defuse the situation; she Knew that was how it needed to happen, or else either Rea would’ve either been killed by Thetis outright, or Thetis would’ve wrecked untold havoc onto them beyond the Singularity (including Rea’s death, as ever)

Tl;dr their first Lostbelt before they knew lostbelts are a thing </3

Myrmidon servants not mistaking Rea for Thetis not just bc of sameface, but same ‘core’ due to Thetis (also) being ‘Rea’ (rather than 100% Thetis just using her as a vessel)

Romani sweating bc haha! wow! human and also a Servant but also it’s Complicated, anyway--

Possible similar hats with the Foreign God? depending on their motivations

MISC & FUN FACTS

Congrats on Rea Suddenly Being Ur Mom, Achilles. It’s weird for her too but also Blz remember to get to bed on time--

Chaldea Chiron is. so very very sorry for his Singularity’s counterparts actions

Also, no one tell Achilles Chiron’s technically arguably actually his step-dad (aka he and og Thetis had a thing in actual history too)

Awkward? Awkward.

Reamom subverse (wherein she’s pre-existing Chaldea staff turned Master to save Ritsuka the burden of it, despite her Crest bs complications), Ritsuka suddenly contemplates if they have an HR

(Also (still reamom subverse) everyone is staring at Romani even harder to Do Something Already, god dammit; youve been in a mutual uwu-ance w her for twelve years and a SINGULARITY SERVANT kisses her first?)

‘Canon’/sans-Rea verse, Thetis (Alter) is still Rea (Alter); barring the Reaface!Thetis confusion and the personal mauling & murder of the Chaldea Master, it’s tl;dr the same! It’s no longer Personal(tm) and they just take out Thetis like a ‘normal’ final boss vs her hurting the Master proper (nvm inducing Pseudo-Servanthood)

Thetis’s powerset includes shapeshifting, which is now Rea’s powersets, aka cue shapeshifting Crash Course courtesy of Enkidu. it’s fine

Lygiron/God/King!Achilles is an Archer (a class he can’t even normally qualify for bc... it’s not proper human history Achilles), courtesy of Dad-Chiron, though he qualifies for lots of classes. Maybe Ruler? lol

Servant Patroclus is a Saber :] bc he’s weak to Lygiron/Myrmidon!Achilles, but strong against PHH Achilles’s lancer qualification (ie. “he’s achilles’s weakness”)

It’s long af but if you want an idea of Thetis (Alter)’s alternate history and the sorta shit Psuedo-Servant Thetis!Rea (og/Caster) gets, there’s Realter’s page. Barring the NP tied to her unique history (aka slaughtering Troy herself), it’s all shit she could Potentially do herself.

Atlantis/Olympus Singularity gets uh. gets uh. well it doesn’t end different but gd the vibes are So Fucking Off w Chaos just beyond the veil and Rea as a pseudo-servant of its incarnation (and not just bc that makes her all these machine god fuckers’ grandma)

I'd love to see how Drifa handled the Emerald Grove between the druids and the tieflings. It's not the romance, but I think her straightforward nature would be interesting in that situation!

Ooo yes! It would be kinda complicated.

Drífa is very pragmatic and is a ‘survival of the fittest’ type, the strong overcome the elements, wilderness vs man, etc. she probably would initially understand the druids, the tieflings showed up and are taking their resources and the Druids are ‘protecting their own’, people have intruded on their territory… these people are intruding on holy ground, holy ground to a god of nature (she worships a goddess of nature) she doesn’t dislike the tieflings at all, she probably doesn’t even really wanna be involved, Drífa falls ass backward into doing the right thing because she’s a good person

But when Drífa finds out the head Druid is going to kill a child for stealing, in her eyes, a rock, she immediately changes her mind. She would listened to the situation from both sides before casting judgement, but to her Kagha is going to kill a kid for stealing a statue that… she has back?

Drífa is a very stalwart person, but kids are the only thing that can stray her from her teachings and she would immediately be disgusted by the Druids. To kill for the sake of killing or for a show is against her beliefs and that’s what kagha is doing. To say you are guardians of nature and willing to snuff out life for a ‘false idol’ Drífa isn’t materialistic so the statue is nothing. She would be very straight to the point her disgust, and probably be a bit hostile to everyone in the vicinity because the idea that ‘someone is the high Druid by ‘right’ so we can’t stop them’ is ridiculous. Obviously the strongest and best for the community should be leading, and these are weak and cowardly so she will find the Halsin to restore balance.

Probably give Arabella a gruff and stern talking to, and pat on the head… but deep down is thinking of her child that she couldn’t save. She would then be very motivated to find Halsin and help the tieflings since the ones sworn to protect the natural order are being complete morons

I do think it’d be funny if to her Halsin is a tree hugger comparatively and she’s like ‘oh lord… another elf… this one’s a gd hippie….’ Jkjk I do think she’d be disappointed when the bear turns into a man. Obviously Halsin watches her eat honeycomb with her bare hands and needs her carnally

She would then help the tieflings escape because they deserve a chance to start their own community elsewhere

She’d help the tieflings and then put her hands on and nod and just leave and they have to chase her down to go to the party because ‘why you have talk to Drífa? Is ok- I go now- why thank?’

okay Ryen, work was a shitshow but I’m here now to give you my thoughts because I’ve been thinking about it all day (thanks for that btw lol)

First, I absolutely love how oc describes her prior encounters with Jin as her being the initiator because it made it that much better seeing him as the controlling hot mf this time around. I absolutely love this Jin he’s delicious

Second, fucking hell Yoongi is so goddamn sweet it’s tooth rotting. All of oc’s thoughts toward Jin and then she’s thrown by whatever she feels for yoongi. He’s too good… way too good

Third, oc is a straight goddess for this. My knees hurt just reading this. Give her a fuxking medal! Like no lie if I’m either jin or yoongi I’m literally giving that woman the world. The whole video thing at the end was cute too I love oc.

Fourth, the moments in the middle of all the action are so perfectly realistic and it’s a fantastic touch. Like yes oc is a straight up Queen but that lil break was so expertly sewn into the story. Well done because damn 👏🏼

Cucumber 🥒 - Favorite non-human character/mythical being?

I think that might be Inari. I was not expecting to love them as much as I did when I first saw them in 3oT. For the most part I've been neutrally positive about the mythical characters in the games, but Inari really wormed their way into my heart. Something about their dialogue and the friendship they form with the farmer really endeared them to me. Also, they're cute a heck!

They're a more mature deity than Witchie and Dessie in the games, but they're also not petty/negligent like some iterations of the HG and WP are in other games. They hit that perfect middle ground for me.

Not sure if I would ever marry them, but I did enjoy befriending them.

Second runner up would be the Harvest Goddess from Save the Homeland. I love her design and her whole vibe. And she's genuinely nice to the protagonist.

Grape 🍇 - Which game would you like to see a remake of?

It's hard to pick just one, because there are a lot of games that I missed playing entirely because they were on consoles I didn't own at the time they came out and/or I wasn't paying attention to HM games. So like, any of those.

But for a game that I have played and would like to see a complete remake of, Island of Happiness. PLEASE. It had a great cast of characters and a fun setting but a lot of the game mechanics make the whole thing frustratingly unplayable. But it would need a lot of changes for me to be happy with it. Get rid of the gd water/sun point system for one. And the hunger bar! Nothing makes it harder to earn money in the game than having a farming system that does not guarantee crops, aka wasting hundreds of g, no source of actual food from the get go, and also having your available energy for doing things dependent upon whether you can find something to eat. which you cant. and I low key hated the Wonderfuls system for tool upgrades, but I can work around that.

So like. I don't want a completely faithful remake of IoH, like they did with FoMT. I want the whole game rebuilt from the ground up so it behaves like other HM/SoS games.

Pineapple 🍍 - What is your favorite art style of the games?

I did already answer that one. Short answer, (M)FoMT, SoS1, and 3oT.

But in general there's something I like in all the games. I'm not very picky about art styles and design lmao, so long as things are cohesive within the game I don't mind the changes between them.

Potato 🥔 - Favorite non-romanceable character?

Hector. My favorite sad, single dad, who I think deserves to find love and happiness again. Let me romance him gdi

That being said, I genuinely enjoy a lot of the non-romancable characters in the games. They are, imo, more important to making the towns feel like real communities than the marriage candidates. And it's kinda nice to have characters that bring life and depth to a town without their story/relation to the character revolving around romance.
