Her eyes that turned darker when she got excited. Her lips that curled up when she smiled. Every single strand of her beautiful hair. Put all of that together, and that's what hatred is.

As someone who is Mexican, this British girl has no business in labeling Miguel (from ATSV) as a “Latin Lover.” (don't bother looking her up on Twitter; she's privated her account after this.)
Because god forbid the creators make Miguel O’Hara attractive. And it doesn't help that the creators of Spider-Man 2099 comics have made Miguel unintentionally attractive. (like seriously, look at some of his comic book designs)
And don't you dare drag Oscar Isaac like that because mans did nothing wrong 😭 he played the role and ate (and left no crumbs behind.)
But in all seriousness, this man has not displayed any stereotype of being a “Latin Lover” at all. He was an antagonist (not a villain) in the film. He wanted to do what was best for everyone, preventing anyone from making the same mistakes he made before the film.
The best takeaway from this is not to stereotype or sexualize Latinos or anyone, period. Or don't be ignorant like this chick.
Please do not speak for anyone when you don't know what the issues are. Like I understand you're trying to be woke, but it comes across as invasive and rude overall.
That's all.
Have a lovely day, my little tortellinis 💌

The next morning after, Aziraphale sat in the courtyard by the fountain and threw down a scatter of bread crumbs. Birds of all sorts flocked to peck at the bits of bread, and he watched them carefully, to see if any had a message for him. But they were merely hungry, and though a bold little house sparrow braved hopping up onto his knee to gently take bits of bread directly out of the cupped palm of his hand, there were no messages from the birds.
Well, that wasn’t entirely true, at least one chirped very rudely at Aziraphale, not caring if he were an angel, a human, a great tit, or a great twat.
Aziraphale dusted off his hands and straightened up his clothes as he stood, sending up a scatter of wings in his wake.
During the lazy golden summer heat, the angel sat in a field of late-blooming irises of many colors. Taking in the heady scent of the flowers, and the gentle buzz of many working bees, he leaned down to touch a deep purple petal and politely asked a bee on a break if she had seen Crowley. After waiting for several minutes while the bee went flying about for some breathless abdomen-waggling gossip with her sisters and neighbors, it was certain that there had been no sighting of the demon by any hive in the local area since the day of the funeral.
The angel then went for a walk into town and finding a small fire upon which someone was preparing to bake bread, manipulated the smoke to send a message, hoping Crowley was sitting near a fire as well so that the smoke would duplicate his message in parallel. But the smoke stubbornly refused to coalesce into words, the physical message unsendable without someone to receive it, and so Aziraphale gave up, waving off the smoke and letting it dissipate.
It was at that point that Aziraphale knew for certain that Crowley was Downstairs.
Time felt as if it passed with unreasonable slowness.
For supper one day the angel went into town and found a place that would make him roast duck and maza, which he dined on with an herbaceous red wine watered down to refreshing perfection. Afterwards he went for a walk through the agora and came across a stand selling little honeycakes, so he bought a few, irregular in shape and size but with a shining glaze of honey and a tender crumb. He took them down to the harbor and ate them while watching the sailing ships, occasionally examining the uneven edge of a rough-made honeycake and thinking that this one, this would have been the one that Crowley would have stolen from his hand and taken a bite from.
One evening, he ducked into the palace kitchens, hoping to catch a glimpse of Crowley, but was instead rewarded with a plate of juicy roast pork slices served upon tender hot rolls, which he took graciously. He ate while sitting on a little stool in the kitchen along the back wall watching the bustle of cooks and servants, listening to their gossip, their little quarrels and conversations, wondering if this was what Crowley saw, if this is what Crowley ate when he came down here in the evenings before being called to Asmodeus’ side.
Eventually out of sheer desperation, Aziraphale stopped by the rooms of Polynices the literature tutor, Crowley’s other rooms for his other role, despite knowing that the demon hardly ever spent time here. There the servant who was in charge of cleaning that section of the palace where the tutors lived apologized, explaining that the master had gone out of town to attend to a family emergency and wouldn’t be back for some time. But miraculously the man let this fellow tutor in to leave Crowley a note.
The rooms were clean, sterile, and seemed as if Crowley never used them. It didn’t smell like anything in here, not even dust, and that made Aziraphale fairly certain that the other rooms where Crowley stayed with Asmodeus also had been talked to by Crowley about dust.
On a blank wax tablet, Aziraphale jotted down a few scribbles and signed it with an aleph; nothing that would make sense to anyone other than Crowley. He left it on the desk at a particular disorderly tilt, which he knew the very orderly demon would notice right away.
And then he began his rounds of waiting.

What are some of your headcanons about the Ravenwatch? (It could be individual character headcanons or them as a group. Your Fennorian headcanons were Very Good and Excellent so now I'm a nosey little circus clown that wants to hear your thoughts on the rest of the Ravenwatch family lol)
Ayo! You ask and you shall receive! Very long (over 1k words OOPS) so it’s all under a cut. I have HC’s for Verandis, Gwendis, Adusa, Fennorian and then the Ravenwatch as a family/group. I want to one day do a HC list with Melina, Janeve, and Heloise if that's something you guys would be interested in.
(Spoils ahead for Greymoor/Markarth storylines!)
Verandis
When he still lives at Ravenwatch Castle, I like to think Verandis made family meals mandatory. All of the Ravenwatch had to come and sit down for a conversation while they ate. Instead of reporting “grades” the Ravenwatch update him on whatever tasks he had assigned them at the time.
I think Verandis would be happy to hear the Vestige doesn’t just disappear after the events of Markarth. (Obviously, we’re all sitting around frothing at the mouth for any and all Ravenwatch crumbs we can get!) For instance, when we run into Gwendis at the Zeal of Zenithar festival and we check in on them and can even ask after Fenn. I think when the Ravenwatch are detailing all of their wild adventures to Verandis, that when the Vestige’s name comes up he feels a certain kind of relief. His Ravenwatch are in good hands. (And obviously the second we get more Ravenwatch quests we’ll be back again)
I like to think after his “death”(??) Verandis makes good on his promise to Gwendis to come and visit the Ravenwatch whenever he can. I sort of get the vibe that it won’t be something that happens too often, but I like to think he sees them every other month at least. Mostly because my heart can’t stand it otherwise, but realistically it’s probably only like three or four times a year. (if we and the Ravenwatch are lucky).
I like to think when Verandis comes to visit he tries to catch up with all of the Ravenwatch as much as he can, but I feel like Fennorian’s connection and relationship with Verandis was a little different than his sisters? (Idk that’s just the vibe I get!) So when Verandis visits, he definitely spends some time with Fennorian individually. Likely Fennorian showing off his latest experiments in his study with Verandis. Fenn probably also keeps a list of questions to corner and ask Verandis, specifically for when he comes to visit. With Gwendis, she probably asks after Verandis and tries to force the truth out of him on how he's really doing. No way would she tolerate a lie. She would likely be the most concerned with how he’s doing and if he’s okay. Gwendis would probably have her own stories to tell him, some of them about the trouble she’d been getting into, but also she would focus on reassuring Verandis that everything was running smoothly. She’d probably also try to find out from Verandis little things he has done over the years for Adusa and Fennorian that she could try to do for them. (Because she clearly cares for her siblings and how they’re doing after he left). I think with Adusa, she would tell him the truth about how certain missions went, but she would still try to live up to the role she’s been given.
Adusa
Adusa is the one I feel like I know the least about, but I love her dearly. She’s very serious, and driven and will do what it takes to get a job done (without overstepping any boundaries that are in place because she’s a Ravenwatch, of course). But she’s also hilarious when she makes jokes.
Sorry for the sadness... but Adusa is the eldest daughter, and while the Ravenwatch is a very loving (and non-toxic) home, the oldest child will always strive to do everything right in their parents eyes. It was Gwendis who snuck around behind Verandis’ back to look into his dark secrets, and it’s Fennorian who tries to impress Verandis with all of his experiments. But it’s Adusa who says Gwendis will get “no dessert” during the Rivenspire Main Quest and it’s Adusa who eventually takes over the Ravenwatch. That kind of trust is only earned through a lot of hard work and a lot of sacrifice and stepping up. And it takes a lot of discipline as well as a certain intolerance for BS. On multiple occasions in Moira’s Hope, Adusa verbally hands our asses to us with zero hesitation. When she has a job to do, she gets it done. Which is exactly why Verandis entrusted the Ravenwatch to her, because he knew she could handle it.
Gwendis
Speaking of seeing Gwendis at the Zeal of Zenithar festival, I cannot believe we didn’t get a quest to help her pick out gifts, OR an option to give her some gold to help pay for her siblings presents or for Gwendis to pick presents out for them from us, OR SOMETHING! (Like what was that??) because she definitely would have appreciated the help picking things out, or the gesture of the Vestige giving her gold for the presents. I’m not sure how much time has passed between Markarth and when we see her at the festival, but I doubt it was enough that it would be weird for the Vestige to stick around and help her out, or at least offer to help. And I find it more strange that we weren't given that option, considering we are a part of the Ravenwatch after Markarth.
There’s a hireling email we get from Melina at some point that says on the night of one of her dates, Gwendis helps her get ready for her date and even offers to let Melina borrow a dress (I think? It’s too late at night for me to fact check this one). So I like to think Gwendis and Melina hang out from time to time. They have sleepovers in Gwendis’ room. Gwendis loves gossip, so getting to listen to Melina spill the tea about her dates all night is great fun for Gwendis. (And I feel like Melina would go on some weird dates, so she would have lots of hilarious stories for Gwendis)
Fennorian
So we’ve stated Gwendis likes to drink wine. Which means they can at least stomach some mortal foods/drinks... at least in small quantities (aside from alcohol. Unless of course Gwendis just doesn’t care about the repercussions. Maybe it’s like how some people are lactose intolerant?). So when the Vestige visits, Fennorian likes to sneak little bites of food off their plate to taste test it. If the Vestige is baking Fennorian definitely sticks his finger in the batter when the Vestige isn’t looking. When he’s making potions, Fennorian will taste test some of them to make sure they’re palatable enough to be consumed, at the very least. And I think when Kallin makes something that smells particularly good, Fennorian can’t help himself and has to sneak a little sip of soup or whatever. One day Kallin catches him doing this. Fennorian is completely mortified, but Kallin barely blinks. All he does is ask Fennorian how it tastes. Later Fennorian finds out that Gwendis has been doing the same thing to Kallin since Kallin started working for the Ravenwatch.
Ravenwatch as a Group
I think that the Ravenwatch have game night. According to Murzaga gra-Ghorn (The new Tribute player located upstairs in the castle) all of the Ravenwatch suck at Tales of Tribute. I think Gwendis would not accept this and would be on the quest to be good enough at the game that Murzaga has no choice but to play her in the game. (This will be coming back to us in an upcoming fic I’m writing, just by the way!!!) But even before Tails of Tribute, I think they played games together from time to time. They probably played triangle chess with Verandis, and when they found games on their travels like Baandari Trick Dice, Nine-Shells, a Dark Elf card game called Shenanigans or the Wood Elf puzzle game Perchance Acorn. And if you’re on board with the idea that the Ravenwatch have/had crazy parties with lots of alcohol involved, then they probably played drinking games such as the Nordic games Sheep, Sheep, Goat and Deceivers Dice. I can’t personally see Fennorian having anything to do with alcohol because a big part of his character is his sense of self-control, but it would be very funny if he got drunk from time to time. (Please someone write funny drunk Fennorian fics) I don’t know why, but I feel like Adusa would have a super high alcohol tolerance that would make her siblings raise an eyebrow or two at the Khajiit's past. And we’ve seen while using the dream walk potion that Gwendis is not against drinking as much as she wants. So game night drinks are definitely not out of the question for her.
The idea of the Ravenwatch playing Rajhin's Dance sounds really, really funny to me. When you find this game the description is “The pyramid objects in this bag are thrown into an area. Blindfolded players must pass through the area without stepping on one” so that’s all I know about it. But the idea of Gwendis placing a bunch of the items akin to Legos on the ground and forcing Fennorian to walk across them all blindfolded wouldn’t leave my head!

That chapter! Magnificent, hands down. Ate and left no crumbs. Not gonna lie ending has me worried. Jk's not gonna revert back to how he was in the beginning right! Or is it gonna be switched role now? So many questions so many possible answers and out comes! I'm excited! 💓💛💗
I can say for sure that you don’t have to worry about Jungkook reverting back to how he was, he’s in too deep with her at this point to even try to be that cold towards her, and even if he manages too, the moment she’s hurt in any way, all bets are off. I’d be more concerned about MC at this point because…not to spoil but homegirl goes a little crazy in the next couple of chapters 🥲
Anybody who thinks she’s being problematic right now is not gonna have fun over the course of the next few chapters for sure but me??? I’m cheering her on from my seat, like yes girl you go! let your rage completely consume you in a fit of proving yourself to everyone who has ever doubted you since moving to Penumbra 🤩

reviews of every movie i’ve seen in theaters lately, because this is what i do with my friday nights now. maybe spoilers or whatever if you care
-Elvis: i do genuinely believe austin butler made some faustian pact for an oscar because there’s no way that he managed to turn out a performance like that when his resume to that point consisted of supporting roles in Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventure and Vanessa Hudgens’ Coachella appearances. anyway it was unfortunately good, bc Baz Luhrmann is the hollywood purveyor of grandiose spectacle and tragicomic fairy tales, and for that end chooses his source material very well. costume design was objectively perfect, because of course it was. staging a montage representing elvis’s hollywood years to an instrumental britney spears mashup before punctuating it with the sound of a gunshot and cronkite’s voice announcing the assassination of MLK is probably one of the most insane creative choices i’ve seen on a screen and shows that baz knew exactly what kind of story he wanted to tell. the unfortunate part is that baz is also a wildly wealthy white australian who, despite a well-intended effort, was extremely out of his depth in trying to portray the nuanced realities of race in mid century america as they pertained to Elvis Presley’s career, but this effort still led to objectively the best musical scenes in the movie. stan yola and go stream her album right now. 8/10
-Don’t Worry Darling: literally so much fun. Harry Styles didn’t quite sell the character for me thru most of it, until the ending sort of gave some justification for why he might have come across as less than wholly convincing—but tbh i doubt that was an intentional performance choice. his press conference soundbite about how DWD “feels like a movie” got rightfully clowned on but it’s actually like. the most apt assessment of it lmao. definitely sets you up to know there’s gonna be some big shocking final twist, and while idk how i feel about it, at least it kind of resolved my biggest issue throughout watching most of it which is the glaring fact that not a single person in this movie convincingly looks like they’re from the 1950s. everyone in the movie has a face that knows about texting and the costume design doesn’t help either, literally like an online brain poisoned person’s mental image of what 1950s suburbia looks like, so that works. messy plot that didn’t really know what to do with itself. nevertheless Miss Flo ate and left no crumbs, as the kids say. also the supposed controversy abt the behind-the-scenes drama was one of the first truly enjoyable entertainment news cycles in a good long while. not a great film but genuinely a great time. 7/10
SMILE: viscerally creepy at a few scenes but that’s rly all there is. freaky premise on the surface but overall not very good and didn’t have anything to say about its central theme of trauma that hasn’t already been said much more effectively by plenty of other, much better movies. 3/10
Pearl: slapped, went absolutely insane, spoke to the soul, talented brilliant amazing showstopping spectacular never the same un-afraid to reference or not reference etc etc. never seen X and don’t particularly care to bc there’s truly nothing i could ever imagine in any way adding to what that movie did for me. didn’t breathe once during mia goth’s entire 8 minute monologue, literally exited the theater feeling like that “girls with they ____” meme, in the best way. she named her murderous pet gator after Theda Bara. absolutely zero notes. 10000/10
Moonage Daydream: A good movie to go see with your mom, if your mom’s celebrity crush growing up was David Bowie. 9/10

10. Final cancellation
WARNINGS: MENTIONS OF TRAUMA, EMOTIONAL ABUSE AND PAEDOPHILIA
BREAKFAST was a lonely affair that morning, surrounded by food but not a parent in sight — out campaigning her father's role as Mayor. Winnie preferred it that way. She ate her pasties without fear of being yelled at for getting crumbs on her uniform, in her nails or hair.
The Dubois' brand new family portrait hung in place of the last. All smiles yet none of them were real — not their true selves like Gossip Girl insisted she wanted to see.
So Winnie kept eating, to fill the void she felt. The terror that consumed her that night and the consciousness coursing through her mind. She pushed back those feelings until they gnawed at her mind, again and again and again.
Perhaps she should take her medication.
Winnie laughed at the thought just before a maid reached the room, announcing she had a guest.
"Zoya should wait outside," she advised but before the maid could contest someone else flooded the room with a basket in hand.
"Zoya?" Monet's voice halted her movements,  "You're inviting her here? Impromptu visits to sleepovers I guess anything slides in my absence."
Winnie straightened up, "What are you doing here?"
She took a split second to notice the obvious changes in Monet. The Senegalese twists were replaced with a mahogany-coloured wig that complimented her skin and her matching blazer very well.
She looked mouth-watering.
"I tried calling," Monet answered, taking in the changes in Winnie, how her stress was covered up with concealer and how her hair was styled in a neat bun tightening her already pronounced features.
Winnie abandoned her food and said, "I muted you."
Monet shrugged off the pang to her chest and sashayed over, "I missed you."
"You ignored me," Winnie argued, squinting her eyes at the basket that settled near her plate.
"That's what a break is," Monet insisted sharply, as a chair was pulled out for her and she took her place, ignoring the ire in Winnie's eyes.
"And now you bring food and question my judgment of company? When you know I have a lot to say about the company you keep."
"I brought food," Monet disregarded her retort and nodded to the quaint basket.
Winnie briefly tipped it to the side to see the red velvet cupcakes. "Cupcakes?"
"From your favourite, Cake Man Raven."
"I prefer Brooklyn cupcakes," Winnie deadpanned, taking deep pleasure in the befuddlement on her face.
"Since when?"
"Since Zoya gifted them to soothe over things," Winnie couldn't help her taunting tone. It was inherited. She caught Monet's twitching eye, "Problem?"
"Caesar, could I interest you with some cupcakes?" Monet turned her attention to the stoic man who was never far from the Dubois heiress, "5 stars and Manhattan's finest."
"I prefer Brooklyn cupcakes myself Miss De Haan," The man in question replied, earning a grimace from the De Haan teen. "Perhaps the maids might take pleasure in your choice of bakery."
Winnie chuckled at his rebuttal, "Caesar, you can wait outside. I'll call you if there's trouble."
And then there were two... the rest of the staff who usually occupied the dining room left to teenagers to themselves, or they'd suffocate on the tension.
Monet's body turned in her direction, as her face morphed from one that was recently insulted to a more apologetic expression.
"I'm sorry."
Winnie almost choked on air, "You're what?" She never apologizes.
"I'm sorry. The break was as hard for me as it was for you."
"I doubt that. But go on," Winnie persisted, surprisingly not shooting her down.
"I know the timing wasn't great. But I was being there for a friend," Monet's manicured hands inched closer to Winnie's as she explained, "I know you don't like who-must-not-be-named but trust me, I didn't want it to happen like that."
"And yet it did," Winnie sucked in a deep breath, attempting to regulate her emotions on her own, "I needed you too," she admitted, moving her hands as Monet stared at her with tender eyes, "My doctor, therapist, psychiatrist all wrapped in one gave me medication. I have a disorder apparently, I'm still working on getting a second option."
That caught Money off guard, she practically launched forward to ask, "What disorder?"
"DMDD. Disruptive mood dysregulation disorder. Prone to outbursts, perpetual irritation and fluctuations in behaviour," Winnie drawled, although apprehensive of her reaction, "Couldn't be furthest from me right?"
"Are you taking medication?" Was all Monet could ask.
"I don't need them," Winnie but back defensively.
"You do, you just don't want to —"
"Change? You're damn right. But I've been told they'll just make me a better version of me."
"Who said that? Let me guess your freshman spy," Monet gritted
"No, Ginny," Winnie rolled her eyes before adding, "Billy said it'll help too."
Money didn't think much of either of them, blonde, dull and rich were adjectives that came to mind. She only conversed with Billy because she sat next to him and creative German, and was forced to interact with Ginny because of the girl in front of her.
The girl she had more than just lust for.
And so she cleared her throat, "You should listen to them. I think It'll help. It won't change you, not entirely."
Winnie's eyes nervously met hers before huffing, "You're not here to talk about my mental problems."
"Think of this as couples counselling," Monet cracked a joke.
"I won't."
Monet softly scoffed, "You will if I ask if you want to be my girlfriend."
"We just had a break," Winnie flushed despite herself.
"Because you exposed us. May I remind you that I wanted it to be done the right way. Not some tacky, middle school slip up."
"I don't regret that," Winnie's hands neared Monet's again.
Their eyes didn't glance away, not for a second.
"And I guess I don't either," Monet sheepishly admitted. "Because I have missed you. And as much as I wanted to pick up the phone I couldn't. I needed my thoughts in order. Just like you need yours."
Winnie allowed her explanation to sink in, although their time apart did more damage than prevented in her eyes, she still missed her.
"So I think it's time we start over," Monet suggested, "turn a new page, start anew."
"Because of the brand deals?" Winnie quirked up a brow.
Monet hummed, "Maybe."
Winnie cracked a smile at her teasing.
"Or maybe it's the sex I miss. The kisses — definitely those, I couldn't breathe without them. But most all you. Just you. As entitled, possessive and vindictive you are. You're bloodthirsty like me. You're beautiful and intense and I couldn't stray from you even if I tried."
"Weird way to propose," Winnie rasped.
Their fingers danced over each other before interlinking
"Oh, I'll do something much more extravagant for that," Winnie's breath hitched at her recant, "But until then. Do you want to be my girlfriend Winifred Margaux Dubois?"
"Only because you called me bloodthirsty," Winnie huffed out a laugh, "so yes Monet Mekada De Haan. I'll be your girlfriend. And you are most unquestionably mine."
"But promise me something, honesty over halfhearted truths," Monet said almost pleadingly, batting her eyelashes so much she missed the brief look of guilt washing over Winnie's face.
"I promise," Winnie agreed, blocking out her memories of her last vow that was made.
Monet squealed and Winnie smiled.
They finally sealed their union with a kiss, Monet grabbed her face as Winnie gripped her sides. They moved as if each feverish kiss was their last. Lapping tongues and pleasurable whimpers. Together at last.
They would've stayed like that if it wasn't for someone clearing their throat.
"Caesar, we're busy —" Winnie mumbled against Monet's lips before turning in the direction of the guest who was not who she expected. "Oh Z."
Zoya shifted her weight from one foot to the other. She wasn't expecting a show at 8 am.
She felt the need to explain, whilst averting her doe-like gaze, "Your car pulled up at my apartment 10 minutes early. My dad thought I was getting kidnapped."
Monet made a face as she dragged her judgmental eyes from the freshman to her girlfriend, "Win, hon what is this?"
Zoya gawked, "So it's official? You two made up? Not surprising. Billy cornered me and practically begged that we have a bet about when you two were gonna reconcile. He owes me 50 bucks."
"Didn't realize you were keeping tabs on our life," Monet turned up her nose.
"Our?" Zoya and Winnie chorused, the latter more amused than anything.
But Winnie winced at the glare Monet sent her way, so she rolled her eyes and tried calming the pair of them.
"Girls play nice. I did tell you little Z was like my mentee," she informed, "Monet and I are official now."
"Wow," Zoya blinked slowly.
Unsure if this was for the better or worse.
Monet groaned, "Will I have to deal with that on the car ride over?"
A grin grew on Winnie's face, "I'll distract you."
Monet stole one last kiss from her as they gathered their things and stood up.
"Oh god," Zoya huffed quietly.
Winnie nodded to the table full of food, "Feel free to grab a bite, I don't want to hear your stomach growling on the ride over."
Zoya didn't hesitate to rush over to the table, leaving the couple to walk ahead.

Everyone was in attendance for Social Studies, whether they were late or not listening to the rants their teacher went on.
Pairs sat on every desk, Max usually resided next to Winnie but since their not-so-soft launch, Monet replaced his seat. He would've opted for Ginny but she was too busy giggling into Billy's ear to notice he was sitting at the back letting Obie talk his ear off. But what he did do was avoid eye contact with Audrey who continuously touched her boyfriend's face, leaving Luna and Julian who sat in front of them, the latter mumbled her opinion to the former about the brand new couple.
Not even 10 am and everyone was already over the class.
"'Sapphic Sirens' is trending," Monet whispered a little too loudly as she showed off her Instagram feed to her girlfriend.
So many blogs and pages — both fans and foes were talking about them.
"Miss De Haan," their teacher repeated, drawing her attention.
"Yes?"
"Could you answer the question? Does class hold a bigger hold over society or race and gender?"
Monet halfheartedly answered, "All three."
She wasn't focused at all, how could she with Winnie's hand gripping her thigh?
"But one has a tighter grasp," Audrey spoke up, leaning forward whilst Aki leaned back.
"Like your roots," Winnie quipped, amusing a few people.
Julian defended her friend, "Like your tracks."
The teacher frowned, "Ladies stay focused."
"Ladies, don't stay focused." Billy encouraged, sitting up with his cheeky smile.
Max scoffed, "Careful Van Der Bilt, encouraging a Catfight when discussing issues like a gender divide isn't a good look."
Billy shot him a wink.
"Neither is racism, but Audrey was trending about all things involving race," Ginny defended.
"Back on the subject matter please." The teacher insisted, hoping not to lose control.
"Injustice is injustice, especially if it involves all three social divisions you just mentioned," Obie stated, earning multiple eye rolls.
Julian just sent him a soft smile, which he mirrored.
"Hot take Obs," Max muttered, groaning into his hands.
"You could argue that even within gender, an upper-class woman will hire maids to care for her children rather than look after them herself." Winnie voiced.
"Speaking from experience Winnie?" Audrey snarled.
"Just making a point. Within feminism, race exists. White feminists don't operate the same way feminists of colour do. Do you relate to that experience Auds?" Winnie rebutted.
"She can't," Monet smirked
Aki tried stealing the attention of his girlfriend, "But those at the top can make a difference for the working class. An Asian- American like me can help spread awareness of Asian hate."
"But have you Akeno?" Winnie pressed.
"He has," Audrey was quick to reassure everyone.
"But have you?" Monet narrowed her eyes at the blonde who did nothing but scowl.
Luna diverted the topic, "All women will experience harassment even women at the top," she spoke up, even though Julian tensed at the subject matter, "Class is redundant when harassment and sexual assault are involved."
"Care to elaborate, Miss La?" the teacher wanted her to explain further.
A student said, "Money doesn't stop crimes."
Many of them disagreed.
"Well..." Billy trailed off.
"Not all of them," Aki murmured, forcing Winnie to think about her father's words.
Julian gritted, "Depends on who you are."
A few students shot her looks before Luna motioned them all to turn around.
"Your socioeconomic background plays a part in it." Obie spoke up, "You committed a crime, but can you afford a good lawyer to defend you?"
"The city appoints one of you can't, right?" Max added, playing with his fingers.
"Marxism is about the conflict between classes. Whereas feminism is the conflict between genders and racism is the conflict between races. Do you believe there will be changes in all three," The teacher asked all of her students.
Obie believed, "There is change."
That started a bigger discourse.
"Barely," Audrey disagreed.
"In your mind there is," Winnie motioned to his head.
"Delusional," Luna couldn't help but say aloud, shrugging off the look Julian sent.
"Sure there's rules and regulations set in place but people get arrested for hate crimes all the time," Aki went on.
"But not the rich," Audrey added.
Winnie shot her a look, "Shitting on your own Hope?"
"Language," their teacher reprimanded.
"She's hardly one of us," Gin mumbled to Billy.
He snickered, "Hardly."
"Speak up Mr van der Bilt," their teacher insisted, hoping he heard something relevant to say.
"Yes, speak up William," Max taunted.
"Is Audrey saying to eat the rich?" Billy's cheeky smile grew as his eyes flickered between them, "Go ahead Sweetheart, but do it in a better rags than the drapes your mother makes."
Gasped and looks of shock spread throughout the class.
"What did you just say?" Audrey stood up, glowering at the blonde boy.
"Say that shit again," Aki joined her.
"Settle down," The teacher demanded, "settle down. Mr Wolfe, get back in your seats — Miss Dubois put your phone away. Miss Hope, calm down, please. Mr Menzies refrain from saying that kind of language even if it's directed to someone who deserves it."
Billy kept chuckling as he got an even bigger rise out of the couple who sat down.
"Dick," Max snarled, earning another loud laugh from the blonde lacrosse player.
"He's not worth it," Obie told his friends, who ignored him.
"Boys," Luna sighed.
"Right," Julian agreed.
"Girls on top," Monet commented to her girlfriend.
"Classless," Winnie concluded, speaking up "maybe your right class trumps race and gender division."
Monet pecked her lips as several students already rushed to put their things away.
Before the teacher could stop them, the bell rang for a break.
"Class dismissed."

"Fuck that!" Zoya exclaimed, "A truce are you kidding me?"
"The freshman has to right idea," Ginny agreed as the girls stood at the MET steps.
Tension had been high since Social Studies and worsened in AP English, Winnie kept Zoya updated, whilst the headmistress told her that she could lose out on her scholarship. The board wouldn't take money from Davis Calloway, so Winnie reassured her she would sort it, free of charge.
Julian frowned, "Don't you think this feud has gone on for too long Z? C'mon I'm your sister,"
"Who wasn't there for you," Audrey piped up from beside her.
"She hasn't been there for me, and you're aware of that," Zoya hissed, "Winnie's there for me."
Monet rolled her eyes and tugged her girlfriend closer.
"She's there for no one," Julian snapped, whilst Luna inched back slightly.
Ginny feigned offence, "I guess I'm chopped liver."
"Well that's certainly more pleasant to look at," Audrey quipped.
Winnie laughed dryly, "Oh, the dull roar speaks again."
"This is who you want to have your back?" Julian pressed her sister, who scoffed.
"Better than someone who lets their friends attack me daily," Zoya defended, glaring around the circle.
"We don't attack. We plan," Luna pointed out, pulling out her phone.
Monet hummed, "Meticulously."
"Obviously not hon, your girl is getting cancelled," Winnie couldn't help but snicker alongside Ginny.
"I'm an innocent fucking bystander," Julian yelled, but that didn't stop their amusement.
"That's true for once." Ginny and Winnie chorused.
Julian angrily shook her head, "Fuck both of you."
Winnie dramatically gasped, "I'm sorry I thought you wanted a truce."
"I never said that."
Everyone realised and turned to the De Haan teen who was pretending she was none the wiser.
"Monet!" they yelled.
She winced, "Yelling. I have youthful ears. Ever since me and my beau talked things out it made me come to the realisation that we all need to play nice. And what screams that than gal pals? Coming together in the face of adversity. A man's at fault and we shouldn't be fighting... anymore."
"No." Ginny instantly shut it down.
She didn't want it. Zoya was wary and sent glances to Winnie who pursed her lips, Julian didn't know what to think and was annoyed by the alliances forming to spite her. Luna was indifferent and wanted to sit down, whilst Audrey awaited Julian's answer.
Winnie spoke up first, "Gin, we have bigger fish to fry, so might as well."
Monet smiled widely, happy that she defended her.
Everyone was startled by her point, but it was clear she was only agreeing because of her girlfriend, which thoroughly agitated Ginny and Zoya, considering they knew the girl wanted chaos like people needed to breathe.
"Fine, why don't we all go around and say something nice about each other?" Ginny mocked but that was certainly an idea.
"We should," Julian breathed out, wanting to turn the other cheek. She was close to hitting rock bottom, so having fewer enemies was a plus. Audrey couldn't help but go along with her. "It'll help. Even though two people standing here cost me an exposure with the big three."
"Cost us," Zoya hissed, "God you sound like Pippa."
"Woah," Luna gasped, whilst Winnie and Ginny sniggered.
Audrey glared at the freshman, whilst rubbing a hand over a hurt Julian's arm.
"Ladies, can we — fuck it isn't that hard to play nice?" Monet rolled her eyes at the hypocrisy.
"Coming from you that's a little rich but okay," Winnie stifled another laugh, "But I'm not going first Mon."
"Fine, I'll start, I like your shoes," Luna had been eying Ginny's Manolo Blahnik satin pumps since the first period.
Ginny shrugged, "I like your face."
Luna smirked.
It was Audrey's turn to compliment Winnie, "You have good fashion sense."
"You have nice lips," Winnie replied, snickering at the pinch Monet gave her.
"Win," Monet hissed, amusing the blondes.
"It was a compliment."
Zoya tried with the De Haan teen, "You have annoyingly genius comebacks."
Monet clicked her tongue, raking her eyes over the freshman before huffing, "Nope, I can't do it."
Zoya threw her arms in the air, "And you wanted a truce."
"Mon," Winnie warned.
"She has voluminous hair," Monet rushed out. "Happy?"
Zoya remained quiet and allowed the forced compliments to bounce around. It was hard, very hard for this group of girls to come together. The impending insults were almost at service level but for now, the fake niceties prevailed. It was time for the last round and Winnie suppressed a scowl when Julian faced her.
Everyone waited and Julian had enough of the silence and voiced, "You're gorgeous."
Monet beamed, her girlfriend was extremely gorgeous.
Casting a wry look at Ginny, Winnie inhaled as she said, "And you're a worthy adversary, beauty and all."
Whether that was a lie or not, they all agreed that their truce would commence for however long it would last.
"Now that's done," Luna clasped her hands together, "we need to find a venue for tonight."
Monet and Audrey quickly agreed and added input, blurting out any and everything to Julian.
Zoya was over it and turned to Winnie, "I need to find Shan."
The Dubois heiress nodded, saying quietly, "Good luck for later."
Zoya was meeting Jeremy O'Harris and didn't need the entire world to know just yet.
"Gin, Winnie, Felice 83 for lunch?" they all turned to see Billy rock up behind them.
Winnie looked at Monet who waved her off, "The driver will pick us up later."
Monet pecked her lips before joining her friends.
"You coming freshman?" Billy called out as Obie, Aki and Max neared.
Zoya shook his head with a smile before hastily looking at her ex who stared in awe at her sister.
She averted her pained gaze and went on her way.
"Julian," Obie smiled.
Aki jogged over, "Audrey."
Winnie and Ginny were met with kisses on the cheek from Billy earning glares from both Max and Monet.
"Do you think this truce you dragged me into will last?" the Wellington blonde asked as they started to walk.
Winnie snorted, "No, but it'll be fun to see who cracks first."
"And when it all blows up and everything explodes?" Ginny asked.
Billy put an arm around her shoulder.
"We protect ourselves," Winnie answered with furrowed brows.
"Does that include Monet?"
"Her too."
"Aww young Winifred's in love," Billy teased, earning groans from both girls.
Ginny already noticed the changes in Winnie's tone. It was happier and calm, unlike Winnie. She wanted to be happy for her closest friend but she had to be cautious. What if she gets distracted?
Winnie tried masking her smile, "Shut up."
Billy blinked rapidly, "Wait really?"
"No."
"I don't trust her," Ginny blurted, eying the glow emitting from her friend.
Winnie nodded, "I know, but for now, we have bigger fish to fry," she cast Billy an odd glare, "Like when do you smell like street meet?"
He frowned, "I had crepes for breakfast."
The best friends exchanged a look before saying, "Street meet."

Who knew a truce could be on the cards? Between the backstabbing, stilettos and sibling rivalry, can one discussion by the MET steps dissolve the tension drifting through the Upper East Side? My dear followers, you should know that it only takes one match to set a fire, and one tip to break peace. Time is ticking and I'll be the first to know when the hourglass runs out.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Shortly after lunch, Winnie's irritation was skyrocketing and she didn't know why, so she made a prompt decision and called her therapist during a free period.
She found a secluded spot in the library her parents built and dialled.
She hesitantly listened to the questions being asked and even answered a few. And repeatedly ignored any mention of her medication that she still hadn't taken.
"You told me you're parents gifted you a dog?"
Personally, Winnie would've preferred a cat. It would be low maintenance and would fuck off whenever she needed it too, but Margaux and Lu wanted to see if she could handle responsibility despite all the other dogs they have in the house.
"They buy me a lot of things," she replied, playing with her pen.
"What is this dog's name?"
"Abaddon."
"A place of destruction."
Winnie was taken aback by her knowledge, "Yes."
"And why did you land on that name? Is the dog destructive?" Dr Anchor questioned.
Winnie shrugged, "He's an attention whore."
"You dislike that."
"That didn't sound like a question," Winnie exclaimed.
"Based on your tone of voice, you dislike that Abaddon, your dog, wants attention. Why is that?" Dr Anchor asked.
"It's exhausting," Winnie sighed, even today she interacted with more people she wanted and had a truce thrust upon her.
"Giving him attention?"
"He wants it every day," Winnie went on.
"And you believe you can't give him that attention every day?"
"I don't believe. I can't," Winnie insisted, placing down her pen and glancing around at the row full of books.
"Why is that?"
"I prefer not to build expectations for people," Winnie breathed out, regretting that she called in the first place.
"Because you don't want to let them down?"
Winnie scowled, "Did I say that? No."
"Do you feel like you let people down?"
"I never said that," Winnie echoed.
Dr Anchor pressed, "Are you letting Abaddon down?"
"How am I letting an emotional support animal down? They're supposed to support me. Serve me. But no he wants attention. He wants me to give something that I can't live up to," Winnie ranted.
"Can't or won't?"
"Can't," Winnie gritted out, pulling the phone away when she saw someone else was calling. It was Monet but she couldn't answer now.
"And why can't you?"
"I've told you, you're not listening," Winnie tossed her head back in annoyance as she clenched the pen in her hands.
"No, I am. The wall you built yourself is so high you can't see what's in front of you."
"And what's that?"
"Happiness is an option but you won't let it in because you've convinced yourself you can't have it and so you won't. You won't give yourself over to your emotional support animal. He's there to support you and of course, he's an intelligent pet and understands you're not doing what needs to be done so he wants attention, attention you're not willing to give because if you allow yourself to open up, or even be vulnerable for just a second, you're scared that somehow you'll let him down. A dog with a name that perfectly depicts your psyche."
Winnie hung up immediately.
Her blinking turned rapid as she tried taking in deep breaths.
Her phone rang again. It was Monet.
"Can we leave? I want to go home," Winnie gulped as she waited for a response.
"I'll meet you out front."
___
Winnie didn't discuss the conversation she had with her therapist, in fact on the ride to the Dubois townhouse she tried showing as much attention to her girlfriend – her partner, it was hard but she was working on it.
She wanted to prove Dr Anchor wrong, she wanted to prove them all wrong, why she didn't know. Pure stubbornness maybe but she couldn't stand someone else's image of her, not when she didn't agree with it.
"Perhaps a portrait of our own. Some traditions should hold out," Monet suggested as Winnie watched her reflection.
They were locked away in her en-suit as Monet planned and ticked off ideas for them to do.
Ever since they came out as a couple, they've been asked to do interviews, or profiles in more modern papers. What does a GenZ couple look like? Who dresses who? Who's the dominant? Most of the articles were going to be inappropriate but they liked the thought of it.
Even a few fashion brands reached out for a featured post. Neither of them was surprised, Monet's style screamed icon, similar to Winnie's who portrayed herself as more of a confidant killer.
But ultimately Monet had her eyes set on an internship.
"A portrait for these walls? My grandparents would be rolling in their frames," Winnie laughed as she leaned against the counter in her gown.
"Too bad they can't do shit to stop it," Monet retorted, wrapping her arms around her waist, "Is that hesitancy I detect? Scared?"
"I'm not scared," Winnie playfully rolled her eyes.
"Then that's that, a portrait."
"You have a list of things for us to do right?" Winnie asked, eyes dropping to the borrowed silk two-piece Monet was lounging in. "Can we just do something spontaneous?" she caught the suggestive smirk playing on Monet's lips.  "Not that. My head has been spinning all day," all week. "I just want a bath."
"A bath at 5 pm?"
"Too domestic for you, you can snap a pic later, before you go off galavanting to find a venue for the saving Calloway ploy."
Monet didn't have to leave until 6.
"Fine, let's be domestic for an hour," Monet agreed,  "But I need a scarf. So do you or is that too black for you?"
"I'll get you your scarf. Might attract a GQ interview while we're at it. Black's the new white," Winnie quipped, as she turned on the bath fit for two.
"About time," Monet beamed, watching as Winnie opened the door to search her nearest bedside table.
"And one more thing," Winnie pulled out two scarves, "I have brand meetings with Ginny and I's agent. We have a perfume that's set to come out in the new year. So if you want to spend more time with me, you'll have to play nice with her."
"There's a truce for a reason remember," Monet's eyes narrowed, "and I'll play nice. You're booked and busy, just like I'll be soon, beside you okay?" she took one of the scarves to wrap around her wig. "We need to find a way to spend more alone time together. Tennis has stolen a lot of your time."
"I don't play tennis anymore," Winnie blurted, drawing a confused look as she sauntered back into the ensuite.
"Why, you go to therapy 3 days a week?"
"Well, now it's 4. My therapist thinks it's best."
"But you can still play."
"Nope, I can't. It's a punishment for a lot of things," Winnie's voice grew quieter, seeing flashes of the file that could trash many families, including the girl who stood right in front of her. "So I'll comply with their demands."
"You shouldn't have to," Monet then suggested, "but I guess I can think of an activity, thorough and time-consuming, that you've already shown you'll love doing."
Winnie squealed when Monet tugged on her robe, "So much for the bath."

Max didn't expect to see Winnie knocking at his door at 10 pm.
A coy smirk tugged on his lips as he leaned against the door, "I didn't know you could journey to the Upper West Side."
She readjusted her Versace Medusa coat and shrugged, "Me either."
"Then what are you doing here?"
"A moment of weakness," she stated, then rolling her eyes at the way he was wiggling his brows, "Oh come on, I'm gay."
He pushed open his door, "Come in. not for any funny business, people usually turned to me in times of need."
When Winnie strutted in, she was overwhelmed by the sweet smell in the air, happy family pictures decorating the walls and the warm colours all around.
"Your boyfriend or girlfriend isn't here?" she glanced around after he shut the door.
Max shook his head, guiding her into the kitchen, "No, there was a Cedar hosted tonight, went as well as it could."
"The Waldorfs and Roses were here? I keep up to date with her daughter Blair sometimes, she designs my mom's work wear on occasion," she informed, setting her purple capucine on the counter.
"Nice."
"Why do you look like someone just kicked a puppy?" she noted his frown.
Max looked dejected and not his normal flamboyant self.
"My dads," he replied scratching at his face. They weren't staying in the house. His dad was upstairs, no doubt confused with the constant push and pull, and his Pops was away until the morning.
She quicked up a questioning brow, "You want your parents back together?"
He scrunched up his face, "Who wouldn't?"
"Me that for sure. If they were separated maybe they would cause less shit. But now I think of it, they would be worse, definitely worse off, properly even bring me down with them."
He winced, "I'm sorry."
She blinked, "Why?"
"Your family sounds like hell," he manoeuvred around his kitchen to lean against the counter, "but that's not all. What happened with Rafa, I still don't see it but it was for the best." he tensed when sudden revelations hit him. "I heard he didn't get bail, and that I along with a few of his...concubines won't have to go to court, you're doing I'm sure."
Winnie rested her arms on the counter, "You're already traumatised, reliving it won't help or did you want to go?"
Many parents on the school board happened to have brilliant lawyers or an influence in the courts and that worked wonders when influencing the verdict with Rafa Caparros.
Max took a moment to respond, "I don't know, but thanks."
"You're welcome."
"So what's up?" Max was curious to know why Winnie of all people rocked up to his house.
They were friendly – he was friendly, she was catty, but they rarely had deep conversations.
"I know how loose your lips can be so you have to swear this won't leave this room?" she demanded.
Max pretended to zip his lips and throw away the key.
She sighed, "Well it's no secret I'm in therapy. I was diagnosed with DMDD and I have to take Ritalin, to regulate my moods and I can't bring myself to take them."
She brought the bottle out for him to hold.
He eyed the dose as his eyes darted between her and the label.
"What?" she grew anxious with the silence they were dragged in.
"I'm a pill popper, guilty as charged, but I imagine this not wanting help goes deeper than this bottle?"
She scoffed, "What are you my therapist now?"
"I just got an image of how you are in therapy, yeesh," he laughed to himself, "but what's the problem? Relying on the pills or the loss of control? And don't say you don't know because I'm smarter than that."
Winnie unbuckled her coat, pondering her response and decided on, "I guess the control, okay?" she was also scared that if she ever forgot to take them, she would explode in a pile of rage.
"I know I'm saying this to the most calculated bitch in the city but control is overrated. But what isn't is balance. You know when my dads separated, I got depressed – Ginny probably told you," she nodded and he went on, "It didn't help with my ADD, drugs did occasionally and then I thought...Rafa did but it made it worse."
She leaned closer, "What made it better?"
"People," she groaned at his answer, "Look I know it's not what you wanna hear, partially because talking won't always help your problems. You have to take Ritalin let me guess a couple of times a day. With your self-control, it'll be smooth sailing, believe me. I wish this," Max shook the bottle, "was all it took for me to be okay."
"You could always go to rehab," she suggested after he gave back her medication.
She hastily put them back in her bag.
"Not an option," he paused, "Hey, can I ask how Ginny is?"
She grimaced, "Why, you see her in the arms of another preppy white boy and you want her back?"
Max squinted his eyes, "No, and don't act like I'm jealous."
He told himself he was just curious.
"You are, but your secret is safe with me," she pretended to zip her lips and throw away the key, drawing a deadpan look. "And to answer your previous question, she's happy, annoyed I'm with Monet but when she's with Billy, all it is giggling and sunshine and rainbows. But I don't even think they're together - together, I guess she's apprehensive after what happened with you."
He clicked his tongue, then nodded, "Understandable."
"And what is happening with you? Shouldn't you be over the moon because of your ménage à trois?" she wondered aloud as he rounded the counter to stand next to her.
"I can't answer that because I can't tell you."
"Sounds like a mess," she mused, feigning annoyance when he rubbed the shoulders together.
"It is, but what about you and your thing with Monet? You're official now, should've seen it coming I guess. Followings and fucking every second sounds like a treat."
She couldn't hold back a smile, "It's good."
"Just good? Yikes," he eyed her sceptical expression, "cautious that she'll fuck it up or the other way round?"
"Both."
Mirth shone in his eyes, "Yeah, I'm really starting to see the second D in your DMDD."
She shoved him, "Fuck you."
"But have you thought that maybe exposing the diagnosis will help with brand deals?" he randomly inquired, but she disagreed.
"So I can be labelled Weak Winnie again? No thanks. And my parents already made everyone in the Ostroff centre sign NDAs."
He gawked, "Even the patients?"
She pursed her lips, "What do you think?"
"Okay, I'm not high enough for that discussion, but honestly, if not about you, you could tweet about how the gossip girl was damaging to your mental health. Include some comment about your riches and maybe threatening a lawsuit – we all know you're good with those – and it'll make GG lose credibility."
Winnie surprisingly hadn't thought of that. There were many ways she wanted to make Gossip Girl pay, so that might've been a good place to start.
"Not a bad thought," she agreed.
Max eyed her, letting his gaze wonder, "But can I just say, you have a certain glow to you? We can rule out pregnancy," even know he noticed how comfortable she looked. "but I like it do you?"
"You analyse me a lot."
"And you analyse the word with those scrutinising brown eyes. It's freaky," he mused, leaning back, rounding the counter to open a cupboard.
Winnie pointed out, "You like freaky."
"Aww, you know me so well," he chuckled, "But hey, I've got something for you," he pulled out a small Tupperware full of pastries, "Take these with the medication, I'll make it go down well. Or you can take them and stay."
She begrudgingly didn't want to make the hopeful smile on his face fall but she couldn't stay.
"No, I can't stay," she gratefully took the pastries, "but I'll take some for me and Caesar to snack on the way home."
That made his face light up again, "Sexy bodyguard right?"
"Jesus Max."
"What? I have eyes."
"That we all know."
"But hey – umm,"  he wrapped his arms around her taking her by surprise, "don't freak out, accept my emotions."
She gagged and tried pulling away, "I'm disgusted."
"You're aroused with loving feelings."
"I'll scream," she murmured against him, "but I don't hate it."
"I know you don't," he slowly pulled away, smiling when she dramatically shivered. He was glad she stopped by, it had been a while since he had a genuine conversation. "Night Pooh Bear."
"Night Wolfe."

So... tensions are dying down, for now, new friendships are being made, but that's not all. You guys might not be fighting anymore, maybe you've figured out that your greatest enemy is yourself and that one battle you'll have to fight alone. There might be some who have already felt like they've lost, and those who are inspired not to give up without a fight. And I've seen you all know a lot of fight in you. In the age of cancel culture and Twitter fingers, it's hard not to want to battle until the end. But then some just give up, but rest assured, you're never really alone not when I'm around, xoxo gossip girl.

"What Now? With Trevor Noah" Podcast Second Episode With Kerry Washington
Tumblr media
What Now? with Trevor Noah dropped its second episode, featuring a conversation with actress/producer/author Kerry Washington.
Washington is well-known for her role as crisis management expert Olivia Pope in the TV show Scandal, which ran from 2012 to 2018.
In this second episode, Trevor Noah is joined by actress/producer/author Kerry Washington. The good friends unpack the end of the Hollywood strikes, the shocking family secret Washington shares in her newly published memoir, the responsibility of being first on the call sheet, why James Corden is concerned for Kerry, and the one feature Trevor inherited from his family. Noah also catches up with friend Christiana Mbakwe Medina about their different life choices and the reason she wants Trevor to marry and have kids.
Some highlights in the video episode include:
Trevor Noah: (11:27)
“…I had to explain to him that he is conflating famous, very successful actors with all actors. Many who are working people who just earn enough to raise a family. And, you know, it's the same in many industries. Like in sports. We think of everyone as LeBron James that we don't know how many NBA, NFL's different league players just earn enough money to make a living. There are stars in every industry. There are some doctors who make millions and millions and millions of dollars, and there are some doctors who make enough to earn a decent living. And the conversation I had with him was really dynamic and interesting because then we just got into a conversation around strikes and why we feel like there are so many strikes happening right now and how interesting it is to see the movement of labor people saying, Hey, we know that there is value in our work. These companies for a long time have made a lot of money from that work. And as the world evolves, we're going to keep on having to negotiate and fight back for the value of our work. And I wondered, like, what are your thoughts on the movement as a whole? Because it hasn't been just actors. It hasn't just been writers. I mean, you look at the autoworkers in Detroit. And the strikes that they've been having, you know, to fight for their future with electric cars, etc.. Like, what do you think it says about the world and where we're heading?”
Kerry Washington: (12:47)
o “You know, I think about that phrase, that democracy is one that we have to keep working for democracy with every generation. We can't ever take it for granted. And I think the same is true for the rights of workers built into capitalism, is this idea of the haves and the have nots and a culture of greed. And so we have to continue to fight to make sure that the success of few does not outweigh the rights of all.”
Trevor Noah: (14:38)
“…And I remember one day getting so angry because they ate like my mom bought a hamburger and we could never really buy hamburgers and houses. And I was saving it. I ate the fries. And then I went off to, like, just to, like, think about my life and how good it was. And I left the burger on the table. I used to. I really suffer from that. I have like this deferred gratification for many things that I enjoy in life. And I came back and carried. I'll never forget the sight. The plate was on the floor and there were crumbs and the dog was sitting there just like almost smiling at me. And I was so angry and sad and I felt betrayed. And my mom said to me something that stuck with me forever. She said, Why are you angry? And I said, Because the dog. And she said, But why did you leave it then? I said, I didn't think the dog. And she said, Trevor, you cannot be angry with a dog for being a dog.”
o “And I was like, Huh. And I think that with capitalism, I go, Capitalism is this really fun and interesting dog, which does great things for many people. And, you know, it makes fancy things, but don't ever take for granted the fact that part of it is it will take from everyone what it can take. Yes, unless you.”
Kerry Washington: (00:18:56)
"But there was this arm's length thing that I had with my mother emotionally, with my dad. It was different. It wasn't an arm's length, but it was a little bit of a disconnect. Yeah. Not knowing why, I always thought it was my fault. I thought there was something I was doing wrong. I thought maybe I wasn't good enough or whatever. As kids we try to fill in the gaps, I just thought maybe I have to be better or smarter or prettier, stronger and more successful or whatever it was. But when they gave me this information, it was like my big aha moment of like, this is the thing. Yeah, this was the thing I could never get across. Right. So it allowed me to connect more deeply to myself and my truth, but also it just allowed me to connect to them because there was no longer a secret between us.”
Kerry Washington: (28:50)
“I feel. Less afraid of what people think of me because I don't have as much to hide. So to be in the world and to feel more secure in who I am and how I am, and to feel like I'm not carrying my parent's shame any longer. Mm hmm. Is so freeing. I feel so liberated and secure and excited. Just, like, really excited about what this person can now build and do and create.”
Kerry Washington: (29:49)
“It's so funny because one woman came up to me at an event that Nnamdi was at and said, like, ""I just I want you to know that we share the same story"" and I said thank you so much and she walked away and then I looked at Nnamdi and I said, ""which story?"" Was she born from a donor? Was she, has she survived sexual abuse? Has she, you know, like, does she have a difficult abortion story? Like, which of the stories that I've shared is the one that… and it almost didn't matter, I realized, when we talked about it. All we both needed to know is that we're not alone. Yes. That we're doing this human experience and that we're not alone."
Kerry Washington: (43:01)
“So I was talking to. James Corden, who said that he was worried for me. James was like, I need to talk to you. I love you. I'm very concerned about you seeking your donor. Wow. Because you have this beautiful life and you know, I know your parents. I know your kids. I know you're like, I understand how beautiful your life is, and I don't want you to give this person so much power that if they aren't who you want them to be, that you suddenly think your life is a failure or that you are unlovable or unworthy in some way. And he told me this beautiful story about some friends of his who used a donor. You know, nowadays, where it's in the world, of course, and sit it, you know, there went to a sperm bank. And the rules at this sperm bank are that you can't, you know, the identity is not disclosed, but you can write a note to the future child. So this donor wrote a note to this child saying and it gives me chills every time I think about it, saying, dear kid, I want you to know that I am not your father. That who I am is just help that there are two people who are your parents. They loved you so much. They wanted to meet you so badly, and all they needed was a little bit of help. So they asked me to give them that help.”
Kerry Washington: (49:06)
“You know, I'm really lucky that I didn't get like everybody famous until much later in my career, because I think if it had happened earlier, I don't know that I would have been able to understand the importance of holding onto my community and audience in the same way. But I had been on this rollercoaster for so long. I mean, by the time the show came around, I'd already been in the business for over a decade, so I had watched Jamie Fox go from being Black famous to famous. I'd watched Forest Whitaker go from being Black, famous to famous. I'd watched Chris Rock go from being Black famous to famous, and I'd also watched how there were times where they were less famous, Famous and Black people still love you. If you love Black people, Yeah. Like if you stay with us, we stay with you. And so by the time the show came along, I was like, no mad. I could hear Chris Rock in my head sometimes. Like, no matter what you do, you don't forget your Black audience because we are right or die like Black people. If you'll if you love us, we will not stop. We don't care if your show gets canceled. We don't care if they gave you third billing. We don't care if your movie bombed. They will still come see you.”
Trevor Noah: (59:30)
“…And the question is, what now? You know, where do you want to go with your family now? Because it really is a whole new world that you're starting off with them. You can you know, you've seen yourself, your dad, your mom, everybody, your kids, your husband. So I'd love to know on that front, what now and then? I mean, you know, the business is back. What now for Kerry Washington? What are you excited about?”
Kerry Washington: (1:00:06)
“So. The what now of my family, is I think we're getting really close to identifying the donor. And so that feels really exciting. It feels like a new story opening up and unfolding. So I'm excited about that. But I'm also really. I feel so lucky that my parents gave me this information while they were still alive to get this information while they're still here. Makes me want to absorb every second that I can with them. Like to really? To really live fully with them, you know, to, like, be all of who I am.”

Lmao even I found her so bad in SOTY but damn right from her second movie Highway she started exceeding all my expectations.
In Gangubai she is just phenomenal, I was so shocked at the casting, I thought why Sanjay Leela Bhansali casted such an innocent-looking actor for that role but man she ate and left no crumbs, I am a fan now.
Also, Ranbir is a good actor but I don't like him idk why 😂
probably cuz he's scum just like his late dad ☠️

My final thoughts on WandaVision (so it goes without saying if you haven’t finished it, don’t look past Vision)
Tumblr media
What I liked:
• I loved the sitcom concept, super cool. And finding out why she hung onto sitcoms for comfort was just *chefs kiss* pay off wise.
• I loved how it started out as a slow build up (but I do think it would’ve worked better to have longer episodes to make things fit better and not feel as rushed towards the end)
• I loved Darcy, Monica and Jimmy’s trio. They were so fantastic together and the actors all did great.
• On the note of Monica, IM SO EXCITED TO HAVE A WOMAN OF COLOR SUPERHERO (especially since she’ll eventually be a main character not just a “sidekick”) 🥳
• I LOVED Pietro/Fietro/Ralph/Uncle P (whoever the hell he actually was). I obviously have some dislikes about the last episode, but we’ll get to that later. I loved how fun Evan Peters was. He really did a fantastic job even though no one knew what was going on with his character, he ate that shit up and left no crumbs.
• Wanda and Visions love story is so much better now that we got to build up to it rather than us just jumping into it (how I felt in Infinity War)
• SCARLET WITCH BOUT TO MAKE ME ACT UP. HOLY JIMMINE CRICKETS WAS SHE LOOKING GORGEOUS AND POWERFUL IN THAT LAST EPISODE
• Billy and Tommy are some of the sweetest children I think I’ve ever seen in a movie/show world and I love them with all my heart and soul and I really hope they do return.
• ITS BEEN AGATHA ALL ALONG 💃🏻🕺🏽💃🏻🕺🏽💃🏻
• “what is grief if not love persevering”
• “we’ve said goodbye before so it stands to reason... we’ll say hello again” IM CRYING JUST THINKING ABOUT IT.
• Wanda tucked in Billy and Tommy so they’d be asleep before they were sucked away with the hex 😭😭😭
• “thank you for choosing me to be your mom” 😭
• That second end credit scene with Scarlet Witch astral projecting was so trippy (I love it) and the boys calling to her broke my dang heart.
• overall the special effects looked really cool
• omg Elizabeth Olsen breaking her back to create the hex was 10/10 she’s so dedicated to the motions/physical acting of it all. Also all her crying scenes, it all felt very real and it really made me sob whenever she was hurting.
Things I didn’t like:
• Episode length. I understand they wanted it to go with the length of a normal sitcom, but it doesn’t work when you’re flashing back and forth between the sitcom and the real world. The time got messy towards the end and things felt rushed like the Vision vs. White Vision battle was just boring because it had no climatic energy to it.
• Too many loose ends/wasn’t clear enough. By that I mean, who was Jimmy’s missing person that led to him learning about the hex? (I’m hoping it was Evan Peters’ character, but more on that later). What happened to White Vision? Does Wanda have Agatha’s power now or did she just make it so she couldn’t use them?
• Ralph Bohner? Really Disney/Marvel? Really? You’re telling me you got Evan fricking Peters just so you could stunt cast and fuck with the audience and end it with a dick joke? Not cool.
• Why no Darcy in the last episode other than 2 seconds :(
• Hayward... Thats it. I just really hate him.
• some of the script/lines were a little questionable... like idk a lot of Agatha’s lines once she was revealed as the villain just were lack luster after her amazing intro and they were sort of tacky.
• I didn’t like how they hyped up certain things just for them to not really be significant (like Monica saying she knew a space engineer who could get her in and it was all mysterious, then not even ending up needing the truck they built or the character not really having much of a “wow” show up)
• I’m back to the Evan Peters thing. Why would they hype up his character’s mystery identity for him to just be a random dude named Ralph Bohner??? That’s such terrible writing (obviously I’m not an expert writer, but I actually did internship at a magazine where I had to read submitted stories and judge them and see if they were worthy of publication. And my minor in college was writing. So I do know a little about story telling, and something is off about the way they did this.). It’s either the fact that it’s just plain bad writing, or it’s a misdirect. I want to believe that Marvel knows how much people would enjoy EP in this show and would eventually expect more from him in the MCU. Now obviously, this is Wanda’s show and she decides what makes it on and what doesn’t, so maybe Ralph is the missing person Jimmy was looking for, but Wanda doesn’t know that, nor would she want it on her show. Maybe he really is Quicksilver but they put him in the Witness Protection Program when he came over from another universe? Or maybe he really is just a nobody who Agatha lived with because his house was conveniently close to Wanda’s. Or maybe he is someone of significance because who just has a random headshot lying around with their proof of ownership of their house and other paperwork and then laughs at their name Bohner even though if they’d had that name their whole life they’d be sick of the dick jokes?? Maybe they left it vague enough so they could gauge audience reaction to EP, if it was good they could come back to it in a mutants movie/show (or maybe even Doctor Strange 2 or Spider-Man 3) or if it was bad, just leave it at he’s a random person who already lived in Westview. Idk all I know is if they don’t end up bringing him back I’m definitely gonna be significantly less interested in any morphing of the XMen and mutants into the MCU.
Lastly, I just wanna say the actors and actresses all did fantastic (especially Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany). They all play such complex roles this time around and it really showed how passionate they were about this project. I loved them all so much and they truly brought this show to life (yes it has flaws, but it was their first attempt at a MCU timeline show, and the actors did what they could with what they were given so none of my criticism go towards them). I really enjoyed this overall (and I’m genuinely sad to see it ending) and I’m looking forward to seeing Wanda being a bad mamma-jamma in Doctor Strange 2.

Tumblr media
June 20, Rome, Italy.
You walk out of the bathroom of your hotel room, your final belongings gathered in your arms. You dump them into your open suitcase, not bothering to organize them since you’re finally flying home again, before zipping the suitcase closed and plopping down beside it on the bed. You stare out the window of your room, admiring the Sydney skyline outside, though you’re glad to trade it for a familiar skyline in just a few short hours.
As you stand to grab your suitcase, your phone rings, and your stomach drops with dread, already aware that this phone call is not going to be one that you like. You grab your phone from your pocket, eyes scanning the familiar number on the screen before you answer with a sigh, “Hill, this better not one of those calls.”
“It’s just recon!” You sigh again, and you can practically hear her cringe though the phone, “I know you haven't been home in months, but you’re our best agent. And you know I wouldn't ask if it wasn't important.”
“Who gave the orders?”
“Fury.”
Not optional then. You nod once, even though she can’t see it. “Where?”
“Rome.”
Your brows lift slightly, “Italy?”
“You know any other Romes?”
You deadpan, “Yeah. Georgia, Alabama, Illinois.”
Hill lets out a short laugh, “Okay, okay, I get it, smartass. Yes, Rome, Italy.”
“Just recon, huh?”
“Just recon.”
You sigh, knowing you can’t say no if it’s from Fury. “Alright, send over the file.”
“Already done.” You can hear the smile in her voice when she adds, “Oh, and you’ll have a partner on this one.”
You groan, “You know I do better solo.”
“You’ll like this one!”
“You said that about the last one.”
“Who, Franklin?”
You hum in acknowledgement, “He talked too much. And he ate way too much garlic for someone sharing a tiny room above a church.”
Hill laughs again before she mutters, “Well, I mean it this time.”
“Who is it?”
“Can’t say. Classified.” You let out a sound of frustration, and you can hear the amusement in her voice when she reassures you. “You’ll meet him in the safe house.”
“Fine.”
“Don’t forget that you’re my favorite agent!”
“Yeah, yeah. Talk to you soon.”
-
Shield sends a Quinjet to fly you to Rome, which you suppose is the closest thing you’ll get to an apology for not getting to go home. Still, it’s better than flying commercial, so you accept the gesture, and your flight passes uneventfully, which you’re grateful for.
The safe house is close to your landing spot, so you decide to walk, thinking the fresh air will be good for you. Unfortunately, you underestimated just how hot it would be beneath the Italian sun, and by the time you arrive at the safe house, you’re sticky with sweat. You walk inside, the apartment pretty small as far as safehouses go, but you’re used to sharing close quarters with other agents, so you aren’t worried about it. You drop your bag on the floor in the living room, heading towards the kitchen and calling out as you move. “Hello? Anyone here?”
As you step into the kitchen, you find it empty, save for a note on the table, along with a small brown paper bag. There’s a delicious smell wafting towards you from the bag, buttery and warm and full of cinnamon, and when you pull it open, you see a fat cinnamon roll staring back at you. You get an idea of who your partner is before you even read the note left beside the bag.
Went to grab a few things, be back in a bit.
-S
You roll your eyes and mutter under your breath, “God damn it, Hill.”
You knew you’d regret telling her about your arrangement with Steve, but she was suspicious after he called her in Japan, and she pretty much pieced it together on her own. All you did was confirm the details for her. Still, it felt nice to talk about it with someone. Not as agents, but as friends. You work so often that you don't have a lot of opportunities to get close to anyone, and besides Steve, Hill is the closest thing you have to a friend.
You shake your head, sure that she’s laughing her ass off at HQ, before you settle into one of the chairs at the table, pulling the bag with the cinnamon roll towards you. You pull a copy of the file out of your bag, given to you by the pilot in the Quinjet, reading through it again as you eat the cinnamon roll left to you by Steve. And that’s where he finds you later, sitting at the table and popping the last bite into your mouth, and he says from the doorway, “Where does it rank on your list?”
You look up in surprise, so engrossed in the file that you didn't hear him come in, and he smiles as he walks into the room and sets two bags of groceries on the table. “So?”
You shake your head at him, not understanding. “So, what?”
“The cinnamon roll, where does it rank?”
You smile and wipe your hands clean, looking down at the crumbs scattered on the table. “Oh. Definitely not as good as my mom’s, but it’s one of the better ones I’ve had, so maybe a 7?”
Steve’s brows lift and a playful smirk settles itself on his face. “A 7? It’s at least a 9.”
“There’s isn't enough icing for it to be a 9.”
He smiles and nods, taking note of the criticism. “I’ll keep that in mind.”
He starts to put the groceries away, and you stand to help him. “So you’ve read the file?”
“Simple surveillance, in and out in a few days. Intel says Alexandrei Ivanov has been scoping out tourist traps to test Hydra weapons at.”
You nod, both of you on the same page, before you ask, “So how are we gonna play this?”
Steve grabs a different file, turning to hand it to you as he grabs the last few groceries. “Newlyweds Victoria and Logan Jones. Honeymooners happily in love, hitting up all the best tourist spots and snapping plenty of pictures for their family back home.”
You feel your cheeks heat up a little as you scan the file, realizing that you’re gonna have to pretend to be married to Steve for the next few days. And everyone knows that you have to stay in your cover at all times, because you never know who’s watching. This should be fun. You take a deep breath and look up at him with a smile, feigning a confidence you don’t quite feel. “So, when do we start?”
-
It turns out that you’re starting right away.
You freshen up from your flight and change clothes into the ones Steve brought for you, a bright yellow sundress; both of you looking incredibly average when you reveal your outfits to each other. Preparing to be tourists, you both don sunhats and grab a camera, and with your cover in place, you head to the Coliseum hand in hand, playing the part of a couple in love.
It doesn't take long for you and Steve to spot Ivanov, as most of the Hydra operatives tend to stand out in a crowd. Steve squeezes your hand when he spots him first, and he turns to you and sweeps you in for a kiss, whispering softly against your lips, “Ivanov at your 3 o’clock.”
You feel your skin heat up with his touch, and you tell yourself that it’s the Italian sun, because you’re an operative and this is just work. But Steve seems to notice the effect he’s already having on you, because he smirks, and you repress an eye roll as you turn away and look around for Ivanov. When you spot him, you turn to your fake husband and exclaim, “Let me get your picture, love!”
You see his cheeks tinge pink, and now it’s your turn to smile, the nickname clearly something he enjoys. He passes you the camera and stands in line with Ivanov, and you point the camera at Steve, pretending to snap pictures of him, when in reality you’re capturing Ivanov in the background. Once you get the shot, you smile at Steve, waving him back over. “Oh my god babe, you look great! Come see!”
Steve walks over and checks the pictures, smiling his approval at you. “Wow, you really captured my good side!”
You lean into your cheesy role, beaming up at him. “Every side is your good side!”
“Baby, c’mere.” He pulls you in for another kiss, this one more passionate than the last, his tongue instantly slipping into your mouth. You have to work hard to remind yourself that you’re in public and this is a job, so you need to keep your composure. Every move the two of you make needs to be calculated, it needs to serve a purpose.
Steve’s mouth moves over your jaw and down to your neck, his mouth pressing kisses and love bites into the skin there. You automatically tip your head to the side, giving him better access, and you hear him whisper against your throat, “Think you can get his phone?”
He lightly nips the side of your neck, and despite yourself you let out a soft moan, unable to hold it back. You feel Steve smile against your neck, and you clench your fists hard, pressing your nails into your palms, trying to calm yourself down again. You nudge Steve back up to your mouth and pull him close, running your tongue over his bottom lip, sinfully slow. You hear Steve’s breath hitch in his throat and you smile before whispering, “Phones are my specialty.”
You pull away from him, stepping back and smiling at his expression, Steve clearly getting into this just as much as you are. You’re slightly relieved that you aren’t the only one affected by his presence or his mouth on yours. You’ve seen each other a few times since Japan, quick flings on your way to other cities and missions, but each tryst never feels like enough. You feel yourself wanting to spend more and more time with Steve. Not just for the sex though. The sex is great, but you’re starting to enjoy just being with Steve.
You try not to think about it too much, focusing instead on your arrangement. No strings attached, just hook ups. No feelings, no relationship. That’s it.
You shake your head to clear your thoughts, returning to the present and your need to lift the phone off Ivanov. You carefully evaluate him; where’s he’s standing, where his phone is most likely to be on his body, what’s the best way to get it off him. And as you watch him standing near the railing, a thick crowd of tourists moving past him, you decide that the best method is to slip it from his back pocket as you move past him with the crowd.
You blend in with the families and couples moving through the attraction, and when you get close enough to him, you deftly slide the phone from his back pocket, quickly switching it to your other hand, held out of sight. You wander over to an area with brochures and pamphlets, grabbing a few and using them to further hide the phone, before making your way back to Steve, the phone hidden in your hand. When you reach him, you give him a smile, passing the brochures and the phone to him. “Look at all these places we need to visit here! So many exciting things to see!”
Steve beams at you when he feels the weight of the phone, and he quickly slides an SD card into the phone, transferring whatever he can as he chatters away about what cafes look best and what attractions you absolutely need to see before your honeymoon is over. When the transfer process finishes, he pulls you close and whispers, “Now how do you get it back?”
“Bumping into him is best, he’s less likely to feel it sliding into his pocket that way.”
Steve smiles at you, “I have the perfect idea then.”
Your brows furrow together, wondering what he has in mind as he pulls you towards Ivanov, talking excitedly the whole way. When the two of you get close, he holds up the camera. “This looks like a good spot, babe! Let’s take a few selfies here.”
“Good idea, love.”
His eyes cut to yours, and you confirm the nickname is one he really likes as he lifts the camera and pulls you close. He snaps a few of the two of you smiling before he leans in and kisses your cheek, snapping a few more. Finally, his lips find yours, and you hear the camera snap a few more times before his arm lowers and his kiss grows more passionate. His tongue slips into your mouth again, and you feel one of his hands slide down to your ass, the phone hidden beneath his hand, pressed against your butt.
You feel a spark of arousal as he shifts you backwards, his mouth moving to kiss your neck as he bumps into Ivanov, quickly sliding the phone back into his back pocket. Steve’s hand quickly returns to your ass, squeezing lightly as Ivanov turns to look at the two of you with disgust. “Watch where you’re going!”
“Sorry man, it’s just hard to keep my hands off her.”
Another squeeze to prove his point, and you close your eyes, steadying yourself as Ivanov retorts, “Maybe you should take her home and fuck her then.”
“Maybe I should.”
You look up and find Steve’s eyes, and the look in them is enough for you to know that he means it. You both mumble another apology to your target before Steve takes your hand and leads you through the crowd, the two of you heading back to the apartment you’re sharing. But it’s like the walk cools Steve off or something, because when you arrive back at the building, he drops your hand and steps inside, awkwardly rubbing his neck as you lock the door behind you. “Good grab back there.”
“Yeah, you too.” You shake your head, your mind too focused on his hands on you, before you amend, “I mean, thanks.”
He holds up the SD card and the camera, “I should get these sent over to Fury.”
“Uh, yeah. Of course.” You glance towards the bedroom door, thinking there’s only one thing that’s gonna cool you down at this point. “I’m gonna shower, try to wash off this sweat.”
“Enjoy it.”
You swear you can see Steve physically cringe at his response to you, and you nod once, grabbing your bag as you head into the bedroom, closing the door behind you. You move straight to the bathroom, switching the water to cool, hoping you can shock your arousal out of your system. You strip quickly and step under the cool stream, the water shocking the heat that seems to linger on your skin. Goosebumps lift on your skin, chasing away all thoughts of Steve, and when you feel calmed down enough, you switch the water warmer, intending to wash up before you get out.
You wash your hair and body quickly, wondering if you can claim jetlag and pretend to go to sleep early to avoid any more awkward interactions with Steve. But as you stand beneath the warm water, letting it wash over you and relax you, you hear the bathroom door swing open. Confused, you turn to see who it is, surprised to see Steve striding towards you and pulling the shower door open. “Steve, what are you-”
The rest of the questions dies on your lips as he pulls you towards him, crashing his lips onto yours. His tongue slips into your mouth and you moan into his touch, hoping he won’t pull away from you this time. You tug him closer and he steps into the shower fully clothed, moving beneath the stream of warm water with you. His hands start to roam over your body, and your lips move together frantically.
You reach up and unbutton his wet shirt, pushing it off his body and onto the shower floor with a wet sound before your hands find his pants and belt, undoing them too and pushing the fabric down to join his shirt. His boxers are the last to go, and as you nudge them down his legs and grab him, his hand slips between your legs, expertly moving against you. The two of you stand pushed together, water running over you as you bring each other to the edge, ridding yourself of the tension that’s been building all day between you.
Steve is the first to pull away, muttering “bedroom” against your lips. You nod and reach behind you blindly to switch the water off before allowing him to lead you into the bedroom, both of you dripping water across the floor. He leads you to the bed, still wet, and you lean back into the sheets, too aroused to care. Steve follows, and he’s inside of you in seconds, both of you moaning as you climb towards your highs together. It doesn't take either of you long to reach the top, and stars explode across your vision as you tip over the edge, Steve’s name coming out of your mouth as you finish.

You fall asleep almost as soon as Steve rolls off of you, exhausted from traveling and spying and being with Steve. You wake a few hours later, when the moon is high in the sky, and you roll over to face Steve, only to find that he isn’t there. Curious, you slide out from beneath the sheets that Steve tucked you into, and you pull on your discarded sundress from earlier before wandering out into the living room.
There you find Steve, sprawled out on the couch, fast asleep. You smile when you see him, wondering why he’s out here, until you see the sketchbook in his hand. You move closer to him, grabbing the book to close it and set it aside, and as you do, you spot the drawing half finished on the page.
It’s of you, fast asleep, sprawled out on the sheets, a soft smile on your face. You flip to the page before it and find another picture; you in Japan, eating across from Steve, and the one before that is you at the holiday party a few months ago. You look at Steve in surprise, still sleeping, unaware of what you’ve seen, and you smile as you close the book and set it on the table beside him.
You hear your phone ring in the other room, and you head back to the bedroom, scooping it from your suitcase and answering without looking at the screen. “Hello?”
“Good job in Rome. We’re running the data from the phone and already getting hits on other locations, which means we need you somewhere else.”
You wander to the doorway between the bedroom and the living room, looking out at Steve as he sleeps on the couch, and when you do, you suddenly become aware of the intimacy of all of this. The playing pretend, the cinnamon roll, the notes, the sketches, it’s a breach of your arrangement. No strings attached, no feelings. You shake your head at yourself, wondering if you’ve managed to ruin a good thing, and at the same time, Hill’s voice comes through the phone, soft and concerned. “Agent, are you there?”
“Yeah, sorry.” You look at Steve one last time before turning and heading to your suitcase, already starting to pack up. “Where do you need me?”

This time when Steve wakes up and looks beside him, there is no note.
