Gosh darn it, one of my favorite rocker dudes in the world. A sweet heart that can shred. Off of the "Bottle It In" album, it is quite hard to pick a favorite track. Understandably, this is not his most popular album, but I will go to battle for it. My favorite at this point in my listening. The tune "Rolling With The Flow" is the clear winner for me. A simple structured song with a relatable rock n' roll story to it. The song tells about growing up and still rocking and being reckless while friends are growing up into what they are supposed to be doing. I love the message; it inspires me to keep writing and rocking.
Kurt Vile has a casual way of telling stories that feel like a conversation. I think that is one of the things that drew me to his sound and writing style. The way he writes lyrics is what I would call intelligent yet simultaneously comical commentary. Let's talk about some of the other songs off of this album. "One Trick Ponies" is a masterpiece. It would have been my favorite off of the album if it wasn't for the memories tied to "Rolling With The Flow". Both of these songs have an upbeat feel which I, again, find so fascinating to pair with his monotone singing voice.
The album starts off strong with "Loading Zones" and a short lightly eerie ending with "(bottle back)". There are two other songs off of the album though which I feel the need to address for my own sake. "Come Again" is a beautiful folky rock tune that you can apply to many different situations. I think it is written well, jams, and talks about feelings both existential and simple yet not fully explored or understood. Of course the other tune I would like to bring up is the title track, "Bottle It In". I god damn love that grainy almost lo-fi introduction with the words that we can all relate to. It is one of those simple song premises that when said the right way, as Kurt has, bring you straight back into old feelings. The song goes on for about 10 minutes and does one of my favorite things that music can do; transport you.
Top 3:
Rollin With The Flow, track 6
One Trick Ponies, track 5
Come Again, track 10
I found it hysterical (Hysteria) when I read on The Rolling Stone that Vile said he wanted Miley Cyrus to cover one of his songs.
“I would love that,” he says. “I met her once. Me and Liz Phair met her at Primavera [Sound] and we were equally waiting in line, both excited — fangirl, fanboy — to meet Miley.”
I will later write about his work with John Prine and Courtney Barnett, two of my other all time favorites that were highlights in Kurt's career thus far.
I don't know if you do asks, and if you don't I'm sorry for bothering you with this but if you do, could you do a web weaving on heartbreak over someone you never dated?
Again I'm sorry if I'm asking and you don't even take asks

Hola personitas. Venimos con un aporte que nos ha costado un tiempito reunir. Es posible que algunos PB tengan 1 añito más de lo que pone, porque igual cumplieron recién. Esperamos les guste ^^
have you done a poll on the best grunge/alternative singer yet, and if not could you?
Keeping this mostly to grunge/grunge-adjacent bands' lead vocalists (to prevent the poll from being HUGE) but as usual, leave your other favorites in the reblogs and replies!

A Redhead Going at It!
For years and years, we did not have the name or identity of the star of this video. She is Larissa of the SmokeVision family of SF websites based in Australia. This, of course, is from Women Smoking Culture but if memory serves it first appeared on SmokeVision proper before its several years-long pause in the "Timeout Chair." It had been self-de-activated. Other SF-content sites popped up from Hall of Fame web-master/web producer Steve K. during the SV shutdown. Larissa certainly knows how to smoke stylishly and alluringly and seductively! Strong on the exhales, showing plenty of pleasure with her Virginia Slims 120s Luxury Lights! Does it get any better than this? Not for her, it doesn't!
. . . well, this is a repeat video but no penalty called, no flag thrown, no umpire tossing a manager from the game, for we are re-purposing as a special Video of The Week presentation. It first appeared on vs120shound on June 17, 2022 and collected 55 positive responses, likes or re-blogs (we have a solo video below of her BFF Mandi from April 4, 2022 that garnered 77 positive notes). Redhead Larissa comes to us from the SmokeVision (Australia) family of SF websites -- SmokeVision proper, Women Smoking Culture, Light Up Time, Models Up Close and MUC-ModelShows.com. She represents all women smokers. How so? By not being among the elite of the elite-looking SF models/SF entrepreneurs/Social Media Smoking Darlings out there within the Greater SF World Community. Larissa is no doubt attractive but she is no Courtney, no Dorine Zopp, no Kriss H. Not a Shannon, nor countrywoman Janey of R.S. Larissa does not approach Anka (Anna) Zapala or Natasha Marley or Josee (Real Smoking Girl) in their beauty. On the traditional Bo Derek "1 to 10" scale, Larissa is a 7.0, maybe a 7.5. The eight aforementioned SF model BHYSW (Beautiful Hot, Young Smoking Women) on the "Bo Derek" would be in the 8.0-10.0 range, mostly 9.0-9.5. Most women are between 6.0 and 7.0. So most women who smoke are attractive, not knock-you-down, drag-you-away gorgeous. Simple facts; basic math. And this is where Larissa shines, representing this vast group -- more specifically the attractive VS120s Gals! In this clip, we love her dangling and her dangle-drags. Her talking-exhale, laughing style! We appreciate the shots repeated by being shown from different camera angles. Dig how she handles her VS120s. The drama of this four-minutes-plus long video is the beginning of combo exhale/drag that last so briefly as to be barely perceptible. Wish she had followed through with that most wondrous of smoking tricks! Larissa also did a memorable video with BFF Mandi, which we do not have posted within our domain of vs120shound, lostlighter23, vs120shound-2 and lostlighter23-darkside. Still on our list of specific videos we are seeking to find for publication. Below is a photograph from the shoot, perhaps a still from the video/screen capture!

(And we apologize for the lateness of last week's Videos of The Week appearing now, some 10 days too late, past deadline. Our goal is to be caught up with this week's features released within the next four days. We promise not; if we fail, they will be published ASAP.)
