Jun & Jun Episode 2

We start off with nostalgia, a visit back to them as kids. Then a flash forward to a grown Lee Jun sitting on a swing where they used to play, admitting to having missed Choi Jun.

Back on the job, we find out that there is a big project that all the new recruits are expected to participate and do well in. That's if they want to keep their jobs. Lee Jun is understandably nervous for an idiot who doesn't understand that the boss will take care of all his needs.

Cause Choi Jun is making all the moves. Invitation to dinner. Using cute emoticons. Meanwhile, bestie Song Hyun Jae is trying to throw down some moves as well. You guys, Lee Jun is cute but an idiot. What person doesn't know that you need a receipt for a company card?

Why are they using the word high maintenance? I feel like it should be exchanged for needy. The "enjoy your relationship." Had me giggling because yeah, that was cute. But seriously, all the eyes that Jun & Jun were giving each other. It reminding me of another pair of characters.

Let's just say it was obvious and had I worked with them. I would have been like Song Hyun Jae and for sure caught on.

Poor Lee Jun was really looking forward to that meal alone with Choi Jun. And OMG this whole next scene was nothing but smoldering magic. I shall share some of this magic with you thanks to @bl-bam-beyond

sooo, I really want to make an unnecessarily long post and scream about lan wangji (and the things wang yibo does with his face). so that’s what I am going to do.

wang yibo as lan wangji is a bit more expressive than novel!lan wangji (for obvious reasons), still, his emotions are unreadable for most of the series and he keeps a straight face regardless of the situation. over the course of 50 episodes we do get little smiles but most of the times lan wangji is solely emoting with his eyes.

nightless city, however, is the only scene he bares himself completely to everyone.

the moment he sees wei wuxian standing on the cliff we can see anxiousness seeping in. he can see where this is heading, but he doesn’t want to believe that wei wuxian will follow through, he still hasn’t given up on convincing wei wuxian to come back to the path of light.

the moment wei wuxian lets himself fall, lan wangji is shocked but not surprised anymore. since he saw wei wuxian at the cliff, this was at least something that could have happened. but he’s not yet desperate, because he knows his strength, he knows he’s fast, he knows he’ll be able to safe him.

but wei wuxian doesn’t want to be saved, he deems himself beyond redemption. lan wangji knows that despite being injured, he still is physically able to pull him up, to keep him safe. but his eyes also show the despair at the knowledge that wei wuxian doesn’t want this. he’s pleading for wei wuxian to give into him, to let him help.

and then jiang cheng arrives, sword drawn, determination on his face. and this is the moment lan wangji actually fears for wei wuxian’s life. and he puts all his willpower into holding on.

wei wuxian knows that jiang cheng is capable of killing him after what he has done, but lan wangji is honestly surprised at jiang cheng moving to end wei wuxian’s life. he was confident that he could at least rescue wei wuxian physically, maybe even against wei wuxian’s will, but this, this was unexpected. because jiang cheng should feel the same as him. to jiang cheng, wei wuxian should still be too dear to kill in this manner. there should be room for redemption. but lan wangji has misjudged the situation and realizes that he will have to pay for it.

and then wei wuxian shakes him off even when jiang cheng’s blade doesn’t strike him. and lan wangji is a child again. the same child that couldn’t accept his mother’s death. the same child that continued to sit in front of his mother’s house even after her death. it is almost childish in how he shakes his shoulders, screaming wei ying’s name. there’s shock and despair but also the utter defiance of reality written on his face. his actions almost look petulant, as if in this extreme situation the only thing his body and mind remember is how he felt when his mother died. and his body memory evokes the same action young lan wangji did. before grief and shock, there’s defiance. wei wuxian dying is something he always thought to be preventable. despite everyone calling for wei wuxian’s death, he though he’d be able to save him, to pull him back towards the light. he might have even fought for wei wuxian against his own people, if wei wuxian just had been willing to come back. but now wei wuxian is beyond saving, even his soul isn’t guaranteed to survive, and he cannot come to terms with the thought that he could’ve done more, that he misjudged wei wuxian, that he wasn’t strong enough. so reality is what is wrong. it has to be. for it not to be his shortcomings, his fault, that wei wuxian isn’t anymore. and his whole body shakes in an attempt to wake up, to physically get away from what he has seen that cannot be true.

and when realization hits him he instantly looks much much older. and much more worn out. the reality still hasn’t set in. but he cannot deny it anymore like he did when he was small. this is the day lan wangji stops being young. this is the day that broke him.

Hi Plan! Your thoughts are always a joy to read and I hope you’re doing well!! I sometimes (unwilling) get dragged into debates on whether or not WWX is insecure and while I think he’s not (I just don’t see that when reading the book) people have said that I don’t understand his personality well lol. Now though as I look back on the way I’ve written him in my stories I do feel as if… it is lacking that spark that makes wwx himself. So I ask someone who’s analysis I’ve enjoyed— how would you describe WWX’s personality?

Who's reading WWX as insecure did they only watch cql? I don't think WWX is insecure at all. He's brilliant but approachable. Playful but sincere. Easygoing but unwavering. Confident without taking himself too seriously. Loyal but not blindly so. Funny but not a clown. Able to let go of A LOT but without being emotionless. And even though his heroism makes him really demanding of himself he still has immense empathy for others (unlike NMJ for ex), for both the living and the dead. He is a mix of these things (plus a lot of brilliance and humor). But I'd rather include some of my fav quotes... than try to do him justice with my own words! (ᵔ◡ᵔ)

Jiang YanLi said that he was born with a smiling look. No matter what unfortunate thing happened, he wouldn’t cling on to them; no matter what situation he was in, he would be happy. Although it sounded a bit heartless, it really wasn’t bad. (Chapter 24)

But…Wei WuXian looked slightly to the side. He saw Lan WangJi, who stood beside him, without any hint of hesitation, any thought of withdrawing.

But, this time, he wasn’t alone anymore. (Chapter 68)

His voice was hoarse, “Thank you.”

He wasn’t scared of falling. All these years, he’d fallen many times. But falling on the ground still hurt, after all. If someone was there to catch him, it’d be more than wonderful. (Chapter 87)

Lan WangJi was reading a book, his head down. A paper lantern was on the corner of the desk. Against the soft light of the fire, his face was even more like a piece of fine jade. Even his indifferent expression and his light eyes seemed to have been glazed a shade warmer. He was so beautiful that it seemed unreal. Caught by the moment, Wei WuXian was somehow entranced. Involuntarily, he inched closer. (Chapter 65)

Surprised, his hands quivered and his arrow fell to the ground. Wei WuXian walked out from behind the garden, grinning, “Which of Wen Sect’s young masters are you? Well, well, beautiful, your shots are amazing. I haven’t seen anyone from your sect with such good…”

Before he could finish, the boy had already disappeared, leaving behind him his bow and arrows.

Wei WuXian was speechless. He felt his chin, Am I really so charming? So charming that I scared him away?

He didn’t take the matter seriously either.

Red seeped through Wen QiongLin’s face to even the bottom of his ears. There was no need for others to beckon him away; he fled self-consciously. Wei WuXian chased after him, “Hey, don’t run! Uh… QiongLin-xiong right? Why are you running?”

Hearing his name called from behind him, Wen QiongLin finally stopped. Head hanging low, he turned around. It seemed as though shame rippled from his head to his toes as he stammered, “… I’m sorry.”

Wei WuXian mused, “Why are you telling me you’re sorry?”

Wen QiongLin replied with guilt, “You… You recommended me… but I made you lose face…”

Wei WuXian, “How did it make me lose face? You haven’t really shot in front other people, have you? You were nervous?”

Wen QiongLin nodded. Wei WuXian continued, “Have some confidence. Let me tell you the truth—you shoot better than everyone in your sect. Out of all of the disciples whom I’ve seen, no more than three people are better in archery than you.”

Jiang Cheng walked over, “What are you doing this time? Three of what?”

Wei WuXian pointed at him, “There, this one, for example, he’s not as good as you.”

Jiang Cheng raged, “Do you want to die?!”

Wei WuXian suffered a strike from him. Face unchanging, he continued, “Really. There isn’t anything to be nervous about, to be honest. You’ll get used to it after practicing a few more times in front of other people. Next time, you’ll definitely impress everyone.”

Wen QiongLin was probably one of Wen Clan’s disciples furthest in bloodline. His status was neither high nor low, yet his personality was timid. He didn’t dare do anything and even his speech stuttered. Through much practice, he had finally conjured up the courage to enter the competition, but he blew it because he was too nervous. If he didn’t receive the right guidance, perhaps the boy would hide his true self more and more from now on and never dare to perform in front of other people again. Wei WuXian encouraged him a couple of times and touched on a few areas of growth, correcting some miniscule problems that he had when he was shooting in the garden. Wen QiongLin listened so attentively that he didn’t even turn his eyes away, nodding uncontrollably.

Jiang Cheng, “Where did you find so much nonsense? The competition is starting soon. Get into the arena right now!”

Here in spite of jiang cheng's admonition, Wei Wuxian took the time to check in with Wen Ning to make sure the boy wouldn't be so embarrassed by his poor performance in front of Wen Chao that he would become even more timid. This moment showed an immense empathy on his part, and of course is how Wen Ning knew him and would help him save jiang cheng. But it's also illustrates how jc doesn't want to help people even when there's no risk or cost, while WWX is happy to share his knowledge. jiang cheng is views any other talented person as a threat to himself, while WWX is happy to lift others up, happy to help others get better. He does the same with the juniors that he takes under his wing right after he's brought back! It's a really beautiful quality. He doesn't hoard his talent, his knowledge, his genius, he's happy to share all of it if he thinks it will better people's circumstances.

Thank you!!! I do a lot of people watching, and that’s about it tbh! I do look at fashion photos and magazines and, like, clothes displays in stores? when I happen across them, but most of my inspo when it comes to outfits starts from me watching people and liking how they’re dressed - in that sense I like watching vlogs and stuff like that too, people these days are so stylish...

Since my brush settings are a reward for my $6+ patreons, I don’t really feel like it’d be fair to share them! But you can probably find some old version of them in my art tips tag :D as for art tips... for lineart the only thing I can really say is to not overthink it and just go with the flow, whatever feels comfortable for you will make for the most visually pleasing lineart too, in my experience! Coloring is something I’m constantly experimenting with as well, but there too my usual mindset is “the easier and faster the better” - generally, I just use flats and then add shadows on them with any color that goes from light blue to pink-ish purple on a layer set on multiply, anything that makes it look fancier than that is just me adding small details like sparkles or shines or anything of the like!

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm the thing is that drawing a lot really is all there is to it, but if I had to give one single serious tip for this it would be to find something you really really really really enjoy drawing and to just draw it - draw it badly if that’s the only way you know how to draw it, but make sure to always draw it while having fun, and slowly you’ll get better without even realizing you are. If you like a ship, draw that ship! If you like plants, draw plants! If you like animals, draw animals! It’s okay if you don’t know how to draw it, or if you feel like your skills aren’t good enough for what you mean to draw, because honestly I felt like that when I started too, and I still feel like that every time I pick up my pen, and I’m sure I’ll forever feel like that for as long as I’ll draw - my ideas will always be bigger than my skills, and maybe so will yours! So what’s it matter if you start drawing stuff beyond your skill level now or later? At least you’ll be having fun with it, and the only way to learn how to do something new is to go and do it, anyway

I’m freaking excited!! I’ve been really consistent with my morning protocol, the visual results are kicking in and NOW Lifewave has a new product that the testimonials are saying made them feel like beasts in the gym. (my translation)

I don’t know why I’m screaming food quotes when nothing actually goes into the body but it’s just I’m so excited!!!! Ahhhhhhhhhhh seriously!

One thing I’m excited about besides the clinical trial results, is that the older the user, the faster you notice the results because so much is breaking down. I’m not super old but my parents are in their 60s now. Things are breaking down. I’m so thankful to have this in time for the holidays too!! OMG I JUST REALIZED THAT!! I know what everyone is getting! 🎄🤶😂

Sorry guys, I’m just really excited. I’m watching the convention, seeing people share their experience with it. I want to try it right now!!! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh ok

1 Day ‘Til the Season 3 Premiere!

EEEEEEEP!!!

So for the final installment of my favorite Season 2 moments countdown, I’m going to cover both parts of Moonvasion. Most of my favorite moments are in the second half, anyway. Not that I don’t love the first half, too, but like... Duck twins though. So without further ado,

“Moonvasion!”

The whole first scene was lovely, especially when Scrooge said he felt more unconditional love than Della will ever know when she came home. Such a sweet moment! And then it got all cute/funny.

Della was seriously acting like a sixteen-year-old who dinged the car and had to tell her daddy and it was so cute.

*SQUEEE*

Also I love how these two pretty much became an overnight ship that, as far as I know, no one is vehemently against:

D’jimunet for the win.

But let’s talk about why we’re all really here:

And then also team cousin showed up and they’re great and then

The entire following scene with Scrooge going over Glomgold’s plan is just pure perfection. Every line, every visual, all the things. It cracks me up every time. It was too good.

I wish I had the whole thing giffed but I don’t and I could never narrow it down to my favorite part because it’s all great. But like look at Glomgold’s happy li’l tail twitch, though!

^Had that giffed, anyway.

^This was a super fun gif to make with all the letters. Also, Scrooge’s face! ^-^ He sounds so weak and beat up but he knows it’s gonna be okay because his babies are there, riding a mutant krill. This was like the best the-cavalry-has-arrived moment since Gandalf in LotR.

His babies are together again!!! That’s a happy daddy right there.

I figured when Della and Penny reunited she’d immediately start showing off her family when there were more pressing matters at hand. XD I wasn’t right on the exact circumstances but I was pretty close otherwise. haha

And look at Webby instantly making Scrooge all happy again and look how Dewey does the same thing to Huey that Della does to Donald!

CUTENESS!!!

And then. You guys.

I TOLD YOU THEY WERE EVIL!!! Of course it wasn’t me who came up with the theory. @alliterative-albatross was the first person I know of who speculated they’d been playing the long game with Scrooge, and @astrodances was the one who speculated they were with F.O.W.L. I am honored to promote the theories of such brilliant peeps.

This finale felt so surreal. I couldn’t believe the Buzzards were finally out as villains (out to us anyway, not to the good guys in the show). GAHHHH Season 3 is gonna be so good!!!
