hi GT! thanks again for the great chapter—loved it (as usual).
just wanted to come on here to sing you praises with just how well you write touch/physical affection especially in the most recent chapter’s first half: draco & hermione being v touchy while entering hogsmeade vs. draco’s jealousy with ron + hermione, and how you depicted draco’s reaction to both (i.e., his awareness on just how not-platonic his actions were vs failing to see that ron and hermione might not be also sharing the same thing) and the way his jealousy flares up. it’s starkly real and engaging and you just leave us wanting more.
just wondering: would there be more platon-ish (or more) moments in the realm of Lionheart, since the books were PG?

I think of Lionheart right now as a story that rides the line between PG-13 and R (for gore, and I guess also technically for swearing, since there's been more than one "fuck.") Those things will only scale up as the story goes on, to an extent that will soon surpass the books. If the original series can be split up into "children's / young adult" around the lynchpin of Book 4, I think of the volumes of Lionheart as "children's / young adult / new adult." New adult is, naturally, more capacious as a genre than young adult is, and I'm cautiously feeling out my comfort level in the new territory it opens up.
To be completely honest, I'm still making up my mind on how far to push past canon there. I know that explicit scenes are common and welcomed in the D/H fanfic space, to an extent even expected, but the jury is out on how much it will be relevant/necessary/something that I'll enjoy writing. (I'm aware that this is a totally confusing and not helpful answer. Friend, I also wish it was not like this.) Basically, I'm just trying to figure out what the story needs.
I guess the most I can say currently is that I'd definitely be comfortable writing it — I've written it before — and for the rest, I'll play it by ear.

Alright, because I was just thinking about how I've never tried making my own poll, and finally thought of something I'm actually curious to measure:
"Comic" covers any means that introduced you to the W.i.t.c.h. storyline/universe as depicted in the comics (i.e. chapter book adaptations of comic issues, tie-in or companion books set in the comics world, etc.).
Preference isn't asking for which version you think is best, necessarily, but for your personal favorite! Which one brings you the most enjoyment?
Bonus question for the tags, if you so choose: has your preference changed over time? (For example, if you vastly preferred one medium over the other in the past but now love them both about the same, vice-versa, etc.)

This is so hard because I honestly never say never and most things that I have ideas for at least get some traction.
But I did have an idea for a MacRiley National Treasure AU that will probably never get written because that's just... a lot.

I Dream of Felicity would be super fun.

The Husbands of Felicity Smoak. It's catchy and describes the fic so well (and was, yes, inspired by the Doctor Who episode title "The Husbands of River Song.")

summary:
Terras Town is another world; the heavier side of the same coin.
It's unclear how Terras Town was ever formed to start with. Legend has it one world exists as a skewed reflection of the other, with dreams being shared in sleep and life being lived through two pairs of eyes. The two towns are kept apart by a barrier older than time itself, and twice as sensitive to change.
Terras Town is another world - and there’s a reason it’s been kept at bay.
Which is why when Lev Alvarez, an eighteen year old girl with run-down sneakers and fresh lined guilt, finds herself having somehow fallen into Terras Town with no idea how to return, she's told it's only a matter of time before the barrier breaks - and her world comes crashing down on them all.
Lev’s only hope is a cryptic girl named Eve, and her unfounded insistence that she’ll find a way to help Lev get home. But why does Lev get the feeling there's more to the story than what's being let on? And what does it mean when the girl who’s never stopped running finally starts to feel at home?

My phone went off during first period Latin class, and Dr. Murphy scolded me. It was one of those massive clamshell abominations because that was what cell phones looked like in 2001. I saw that my dad was calling and felt a flash of intense annoyance because I knew that he knew better than to try and call me in the middle of a school day. That is my strongest memory I have from back then, lol. Being real pissed at my dad. Aside from, of course, the plumes of smoke and the acrid industrial burning smell. Which was there for months and months and months. My strongest sense memory tied to a specific time and place, aside from...... a very particular combination of burnt cheap coffee and floor cleaner, and what the inside of the Natural Sciences building at SUNY Purchase smells like.
#and then the whole city was in a state of protracted psychosis for what. at least until the financial crisis#rewatching The 25th Hour recently was very illuminating because it gives you an acute sense of just how INSANE 9/11 made new york writers#spike lee is perhaps not the best example because he is an aggravated new york sentimentalist to begin with#but everybody went fully off the rails for at least five years
