Yep. I can hear the insults and the mocking. BUT! Think about this objectively! Since the beginning of time, which group has FUCKED up the world more? They take pride in all the “good” things they’ve done. “Well, look how we built schools in Afrika! Look how we stopped the Trans-Atlantic slave trade!” ROFL! That’s like an ARSONIST putting out a FIRE he STARTED! Then we get to hear the “reality-shaking news”, “You know Afrikans sold other Afrikans into slavery, right?” Yes, it’s human nature, the need for POWER and CONTROL and RICHES! So did the “superior” Europeans. But I digress… AFRIKA, ASIA, AUSTRALIA, NEW ZEALAND, THE AMERICAS and everywhere else the “benevolent” Europeans have been. Following closely were THEFT, DECEIT, DISEASE, ASSAULT, ENSLAVEMENT, RAPE, AND MURDER! Prove me wrong! “Scramble for Afrika”, “White man’s burden” (it was the European's “Christian duty” to “civilize” the world! How POMPOUS is that?

NEW MAP: Sub-Saharan Africa 1897: Batetela Rebellion (13 July 1897) https://buff.ly/2B0qNZG Intent on securing the southern Sudan, the Congo Free State mounted a two-pronged invasion of the Mahdist State in late 1896. Although the first prong successfully conquered the Lado Enclave in February, the second, more ambitious, effort to march down the Nile and take Fashoda collapsed when the native troops involved—mostly Batetela—revolted and instead seized large parts of the eastern Congo. The rebellion took over two years to suppress, encouraging the Germans in East Africa to use the crisis as an excuse to seize Congolese territory around Lake Kivu. #1890s #1897 #19thcentury #africa #africanhistory #belgiancongo #congofreestate #burundi #cartografia #cartographic #colonialism #imperialism #scrambleforafrica #historisch #history #historybuff #historyclass #historylesson #historylovers #historymatters #mapmaking #mapping #maps #rwanda #subsaharanafrica #tanzania #victorian #victorianera #worldhistory #newmap (at Goma, Congo) https://www.instagram.com/p/CCnjh18Acx-/?igshid=15qi72bgcblqq

On March 1, 1896, an army of approximately 30,000 Italian soldiers, equipped with the latest armaments of the time, were slaughtered by the triumphant forces of Ethiopia's King of Kings, Emperor Menelik, and his royal consort, Empress Taitu. In that moment, Ethiopia effectively halted the “scramble for Africa” at its borders, preserving its age old independence in the process. On March 1, 2021 the Association of RasTafari Creatives (ARC) will commemorate the Battle of Adwa by officially launching to the world with an online press event. We intend to share key information about who we are, the journey of development we are embarking on, and how ones can become members and allies of ARC as the Rastafari nation continues its march toward self-determination. FOLLOW us, check out the link in our bio and SUBSCRIBE to our mailing list for launch details. #BattleOfAdwa #Ethiopia #Rastafari #AfricanArt #RastafariCreatives #Menelik #Taitu #Independence #ScrambleForAfrica https://www.instagram.com/p/CLHrfDCJKB-/?igshid=z9u1sgc9d076

#Repost @trizzmatic_413 ・・・ The Berlin Conference of 1884–85, also known as the Congo Conference or West Africa Conference regulated European colonization and trade in Africa during the New Imperialism period, and coincided with Germany's sudden emergence as an imperial power. Called for by Portugal and organized by Otto von Bismarck, first Chancellor of Germany, its outcome, the General Act of the Berlin Conference, can be seen as the formalization of the Scramble for Africa. The conference ushered in a period of heightened colonial activity by European powers, which eliminated or overrode most existing forms of African autonomy and self-governance. #BerlinConference #BerlinConferenceOf1884 #CongoConference #ThatsWhatHappenedToAfrica #DestructionOfBlackCivilization #DrChancellorWilliams #BlackHistory #AfricanHistory #InterruptedBlackHistory #RuinsOfEmpires #ScrambleForAfrica #AfricanResources #BlackWealthBecameWhiteWealth #StolenLegacy #GeorgeGMJames #WhiteSupremacy #ThatsAMajorKey 🗝 #Read #Books #GetKnowledge #InformationAge #NoExcuses #GetTheCrustOutYaThirdEye & #GetSmartOrDieTrying #TransformUTransformEverything #Trizzmatic #ColonialAfrica #Divided

The Scramble for Africa
What is the Scramble for Africa?
The Scramble for Africa was the time period (1876-1914 roughly) in which major Europeans powers fought to claim land in Africa in competition for resources, as well as economic and political power (Sparknotes, 2017). This fight affected much of the continent–so much so that the only countries that are recognized for having low colonization rates are Ethiopia and Liberia.
While many groups of people in African countries tried to resist colonization and European control/imperialistic influence, some leaders also found it easier to work with European rulers to try to ensure safety for their people in regards to the transatlantic slave system and kidnapping–although it was very rare, even for members of royal families, to be positive of their safety. In African Voices of The Global Past, we see this demonstrated in the letter Queen Njinga Mbande of Ndongo and Matambe writes to a Portuguese Commander who is stationed in Angola:
“I have complained so much to the past governors, who have always promised to return my sister…and she was never returned…. “ (as cited by Getz, 2014).

Scramble for Africa
Ever heard of the #scrambleforafrica? here is how it went down #ujamaalive
The Scramble for Africa, also called the Partition of Africa or the Conquest of Africa, was the invasion, occupation, division, and colonisation of African territory by European powers during a short period known to historians as the New Imperialism (between 1881 and 1914). In 1870, only 10 percent of Africa was under formal European control; by 1914 this had increased to almost 90 percent of the…
