Prompt: Happy Halloween
Summary: It’s the end of the spooky season and the heroes and villains met up.
A/N: It’s J.J and Google’s birthdays.
And with that is the close of another Egotober. I’m glad you all could be here with me for this. I’ll be here on the third for another birthday post and then on Friday for my regular uploads. Have fun and stay safe out there everyone.
Warnings: none
Another year passed, another year come and gone, and it was the heroes and the villains’ meet-up, one of their only truce days.
Several people weren’t there that normally came every year. Logan was understandably not in attendance and Joan and Virgil had stayed at the apartment with him as they watched The Nightmare Before Christmas and the Addams Family movies. Oliver had stayed at the base to avoid Google, a good idea since Google only came to see if Oliver was there. Chase had stayed with Oliver to avoid seeing Dark’s face. And Nate was out of town with Mare on a tour.
Still, the tenuous truce remained.
The Host had pulled Illinois and Bim aside briefly before they entered the building that the meet-up was being held at.
There was an important matter that the Host wanted to discuss and Dark was reassured everything was fine before he let them hang back and enter the festivities shortly after.
But everything was not fine.
“This is completely absurd,” Bim told him. “How are you sure this is even going to work?”
“The Host is only certain that without aid, he and the others will fail,” the Host admitted.
“So what are we supposed to do?” Illinois asked. “You’re a shit liar, how are you gonna get past Dark?”
“No,” the Host corrected. “The Host needs Illinois to lie to the Entity. Because he is the only one who could get away with.”
Illinois groaned, rolling his eyes,”Fine, I’ll think of something but if he gets pissed I’m blaming your cryptic ass.”
“The Host is not opposed to that, so long as things are taken care of,” the Host smiled. “Now, the Host and his brothers should join the others. Before the Entity gets concerned and comes looking for them.”
“But I have questions,” Bim reminded.
“Not while prying eyes can find, the three of them talk tomorrow,” the Host promised.
Bim protested a bit but the Host helped the three of them slipped back into the group. They came into the room while Dark and King were in the middle of an argument.
“We can’t get a cat, Kay,” King snapped at Dark. Dark rolled his eyes. “We can’t get a dog, Kay. It’s not safe. It’ll die.”
Dark pinched the bridge of his nose, “Kaylor.”
“And then what do you do the instant I leave?” King spat. “You get a fucking cat! And name it after yourself!”
“Wil brought him into the house and named him, and the thing was half-dead,” Dark defended. “You would have been angrier if I had allowed it to die.”
Wilford chuckled from where he was sitting next to Dark, “You know you love ol’ Damsy, Dark. The little scamp always tries to sleep in our bed.”
“Don’t undermine me in front of everyone,” Dark glared at Wil.
The madman just smiled at Dark, loudly scooting his chair closer. “Let’s just enjoy the party. Have a couple drinks with me.”
“I’m not done complaining at him,” King pointed at Dark.
Wilford was suddenly standing next to King, slinging an arm around his neck. “Come on my boy, you like bourbon right?”
“Not really,” King told him, glancing at Abe. “I wasn’t old enough to drink when I left.”
“Ahh, I know you and Illy stole some of Dark’s wine on multiple occasions,” Wil smiled.
“What was that?” Dark demanded.
“Nothing,” Illinois told him. “I’m getting a drink.”
Google had been watching the argument from a distance, and he noticed that Bing was walking up to him.
“Hey, Googs,” Bing greeted when he stopped next to the other android. “We need to talk.”
“I have nothing to discuss with you,” Google grumbled angrily at him.
“If we don’t do something about Green he’s going to kill Ollie,” Bing reminded sharply.
“Green is restricted from destroying Oliver’s central drive,” Google dismissed. “Oliver will be fine, even if I have to rebuild the rest of him from scratch.”
Bing glared at Google, “Either you do something, dude, or I will.”
“Is that so?” Google’s tone was suddenly far more serious. “Will you?”
Bing looked at the other android right in the optic cameras that served as his eyes. “Yeah, I will. He can’t keep terrorizing Ollie.”
“You won’t kill him, you’ve deviated so far from your objective that you aren’t even capable of it,” Google dared.
“Don’t need to kill him, but I will make him stop,” Bing warned.
Google stared blankly at him, before looking away, “I am leaving, I have work to do.”
Bing watched him go. Google left without a goodbye to anyone, not even to Dark. Bing left to go back to the base.
As the part continued, J.J noticed that Dark seemed to be watching the crowd. He wasn’t mingling like he tended to do, his usual attempts to get information about their civilian identities.
This year he was minding his own business, except when an increasingly drunk Wil was trying to climb into Dark’s arms.
“Looking for something?” J.J asked.
“Illinois’s boyfriend,” Dark said out loud, moving his hands to sign as he spoke.
J.J felt a bit of apprehension, “How do you know he has a boyfriend?”
Dark chuckled, “I’ve known Illinois for years. I know what the ‘Plus One tax’ looks like on my invoices. That and he labeled some of his expenses as “Cariño” and Illinois would never put the wrong gender to mislead me.”
“Plus One tax?” J.J spelled the word out like Dark had.
“When Illinois has someone who travels with him and he’s keen on them,” Dark’s signing got a little less precise with his words, “they become his travel partners and unlike another person in his travel team, the expenses for that person is sometimes double what it normally is. Or triple if Illinois is particularly taken. It’s fairly adorable and it’s his money so he can spend it how wants, but I always like to attach a face to the expenses.”
“Why are you looking for him here?” J.J asked.
Dark’s answer was a smile, “That’s the only thing I know about him. I have my suspicions, but so far I’ve only cleared Crank.”
“You are tracking him,” J.J began to ask, “how do you not know?”
“Illinois isn’t the only one who loves a good mystery,” Dark was looking at Illinois who was trying to tend to an increasingly drunk Bim who was overenthusiastic about being at the party. “When Illinois is ready, he’ll tell me.”
J.J did smile at that. The evening was relatively fun, if more than a bit tense. Dark sent Bim and Wil through a portal, taking Illinois with him and ignoring when Illinois left the Manor soon after to go and visit his boyfriend.
The party slowly began to disperse after that, the atmosphere less tense after Dark and Bim left, in the hope that less year the meet-up would be significantly less strained.

Christmas is a time to be surrounded by those you love and to take a moment to appreciate everything you hold close and dear. This year despite Covid we are so fortunate to not only be holding Niko close but to have found so much love and support over the last 12 weeks!
The day after Niko was born it felt like reality had finally hit me - after being on a high the day before, I suddenly realised that I had run out of all energy and was at the starting line of a marathon. It was like the last ten weeks I had one goal and one goal only - make it to 30 weeks. So once Niko was born, despite being very thankful that everything went as smoothly as possible, I was out of steam and on a low. We rang my mother in law. She dropped everything and came the very next day to help us out.
Since then she has cooked, cleaned, driven me to and from the NICU, driven me to midwife appointments, ensured and reminded me that my recovery was also a priority, sat outside in the car park with no hope of meeting her first grandson, made us laugh at home and overall just supported Sam - especially when he put his back out (we were a right sight). I’m so glad we picked up the phone that day and asked for help - something we’re not used to doing. She has been a true godsend and now I’m one daughter in law completely indebted to her mother in law! I would have it no other way!
Sam’s godmother also scooped Scamp up and has taken the best care of him. Everyone knows how dearly we love Scamp (our first fur baby), so to know he is really well looked after is such a huge weight off of our minds. He is on holiday but this Christmas we are all together!
My cousin said life is also about letting others help you - to not only share the joys but more importantly the tough times. To let people help is also a gift and she is right. Everyone reading this blog knows we are going through a tough time - it’s definitely the hardest thing we have gone through in the 14 years of being together, but everyone’s support has got us to today and it will see us through this NICU journey!
This Christmas looks nothing like we hoped, but I’m glad. We have a whole new perspective on what is important. The year ahead will no doubt shape us, break us and spit us back out, but it’s easier now we know to ask for help!
Right we’re off to see our son together on Christmas Day! I hope he is as excited as I am!!!

Positive 20 Questions Game
Tagged by @scamp-00 (thanks, hun!)
1.) Name 4 fictional characters who showcase your personality the best, with explanations if you want.
Dean Winchester (Supernatural): The three Bs: booze, burgers, bisexual. Also classic rock diehard.
Dr. Leonard H. “Bones” McCoy (Star Trek): Both from the south, both grumpy and tired and unappreciated as hell. And again, booze. (Plus gorgeous blue eyes XD)
Missy (Doctor Who): Chaotic af, extra af, horny af.
Hyde (That ‘70s Show): Perfectly happy to spend the rest of my days smoking weed and protesting against the capitalist machine.
2.) Aesthetic?
I’m just gonna copy/paste an answer I already said before on another post:  leather jackets and combat boots, mugs of coffee, tubes of dark red lipstick, electric guitars and antique amps, supernovas.
3.) Favorite musical/play?
I can’t believe I’m saying this...but I think it might be Mamma Mia. I know, it’s trash, but it’s my trash.
4.) What is the best compliment you’ve ever received?
My favorite uncle once saw me in a play and said I was “fucking phenomenal”. This man NEVER swears.
5.) How many times have you been in love?
I guess three times. Or maybe just two depending on how you count it.
6.) Embarrassing story or fact about yourself that makes you laugh now?
When I was younger (not that young, like 14), I used to think it was funny to scream and run across the street from the school to my mom’s car when she was picking me up from school like I was running for my life. I was a very cringe child...
7.) Favorite Disney/Pixar movie?
Moana!
8.) Favorite flower or plant?
Is it basic if I say red roses?
9.) What’s your favorite holiday?
Halloween, a.k.a. Gay Christmas.
10.) Name three things that made you laugh or smile this past week.
Being near the ocean
Reading a book to my mom
Making my D&D character say something SUPER horny during our session this week and making the whole gang crack up.
11.) What song would you play to introduce yourself to someone?
“oh hi thanks for checking in i’m still a piece of garbage” Probably something by AC/DC, like “Shoot to Thrill”. Again, I am extra AF. Oh my god, have I been Tony Stark this whole goddamn time???
12.) Name something that truly makes you feel peaceful even at your most stressed moments.
Standing on the deck of the my great aunt’s beach house, staring out at the Gulf of Mexico, letting the sea breeze blow through my hair. It’s my happy place.
13.) What do you, did you, or would you study at college?
I am finishing up my film degree this summer at Sam Houston State University :D
14.) This is kind of a weird one, but which outfit of yours makes you feel most like yourself?
My black leather jacket, red blouse, skinny jeans and tall black boots. I call that “cosplaying as myself”.
15.) What is a quote you live by?
Whenever you feel like criticizing anyone, just remember that all the people in this world haven't had the advantages that you've had. --F. Scott Fitzgerald
16.) Name the funniest playlist name you have.
I have one called “depression is a hobby” and the only song on it is “Help!” by the Beatles.
17.) Make a reference to an inside joke you have with someone you love with zero context.
Bigger Kleenex ( @flamingbluepanda XD)
18.) What is a message you would give your younger self if given the chance?
“Broccoli is actually great, you just don’t like it soft like your parents make it.”
19.) Who is your favorite family member? (If you have no good blood family members, feel free to mention someone in your found family)
My nephew Taylor. He is the cutest kid and it kills me that he’s gonna grow up and become a goddamn Republican.
20.) What’s a secret dream of yours?
(I still want to be a superhero.)
Tagging whoever is interested.

Positive 20 Questions Tag Game
i made a tag game again.  i’m bored, procrastinating, and certain we all need some more positivity right now. hell yeah.
(tgged by @scamp-00 and @sweatercas! thank you, friends!)
1.) Name 4 fictional characters who showcase your personality the best, with explanations if you want.
dean winchester / supernatural - not only because i love pie, women, classic rock, and old muscle cars, but because i also have great a great emotional capacity but no skill at articulating it and will probably spend 11 years harboring feelings for a friend that i’ll never admit to having.
nick miller / new girl - because he is attractive, stupid, funny, and great boyfriend material. i am also attractive, stupid, funny, and great boyfriend material.
debra morgan / dexter - who has a hard exterior, affinity for cuss words, a secret soft inside, and ends up with all the wrong people in an attempt to cure loneliness? deb and i.
tom hansen / 500 days of summer - because i end up falling for people who don’t love me and i tend to associate similar music tastes with attraction for one another like a dumb 15 year old.
2.) Aesthetic?
flowers. decaying buildings. rays of sunlight through tree leaves. empty streets in the middle of the night. hands. a bed filled with blankets and pillows and love. forehead kisses. lingering touches. sleeping in on rainy mornings. the crackle of vinyl records. long coats and big sweaters. mismatched wall art. the condensation on a glass of ice water in the summer heat. open windows letting in the sound of the city in the late evening.
3.) Favorite musical/play? (If you’ve never seen a musical or play, one you’d be interested in seeing?
RENT. i saw it once almost ten years ago and remember virtually nothing about it except at one point an actress had the entire crowd screaming “MOO!” over and over again and it felt like a dream. i saw that play while meeting with a pen pal i had my freshman year of high school.
4.) What is the best compliment you’ve ever received?
i don’t have anything that sticks out to me, but i become a complete mess when people compliment my singing.
5.) How many times have you been in love?
two, i think. maybe once. although, i’ve told a few too many people i loved them, even though i didn’t actually feel it with most. the real question is, how many people have been in love with me? that would be zero.
6.) Embarrassing story or fact about yourself that makes you laugh now?
as a kid, i was obsessed with harriet the spy. to the point that i made my own spy kit (which consisted on a costume purse from my grandma’s dress up bin and a singular compact mirror that i would use to peek around corners). my big brother caught me a few times and told me to stop being dumb.
7.) Favorite Disney/Pixar movie?
the little mermaid, hands down, no questions asked. as a toddler, i would demand that my parents play, rewind the tape, and play it again over and over all day long. i still watch it for comfort sometimes.
8.) Favorite flower or plant?
irises
9.) What’s your favorite holiday?
i always want to say halloween, but the past few years, halloween hasn’t been very good to me. but christmas always makes my heart swell up with happiness.
10.) Name three things that made you laugh or smile this past week.
watching my manager at work get absolutely GEEKED about how my mom used to work with an ex-serial killer
the fan fiction stay with me, sweetheart by @a-mandala-rose
talking to @sweatercas about grumpty old vampires dean and sam
(these events are actually a week or two old because i had this post saved in my drafts and i haven’t had a lot of smiles or laughs this week.)
11.) What song would you play to introduce yourself to someone?
“way cool baby love” by daisy
12.) Name something that truly makes you feel peaceful even at your most stressed moments.
hand holding. really, any physical touch will ground me when i’m feeling stressed/anxious, but hand holding is my favorite.
13.) What do you, did you, or would you study at college?
i’ve dropped out of school twice lmao, but if i had the discipline to go back and actually finish a degree, i think i’d like to become a high school engligh teacher.
14.) This is kind of a weird one, but which outfit of yours makes you feel most like yourself?
my ripped jeans with the cuffed ankles, my “humans are not real” t-shirt with the alien head that i got from five below, and my oversized black cardigan
15.) What is a quote you live by?
“we must define ourselves by the best that is in us, not the worst that had been done to us.”
16.) Name the funniest playlist name you have.
“classic schmassic” because i’m not all that creative with playlist names (half of my playlist are just a part of my heartthrobs series)
17.) Make a reference to an inside joke you have with someone you love with zero context.
thanksgiving leftovers @areallyoldblog
18.) What is a message you would give your younger self if given the chance?
you’re going to go through stuff that sucks. when you get through it, i don’t want you to try to go back to being the person you were before any of that stuff happened. you should never be the same person more than once. keep learning, keep growing, keep becoming better than you were yesterday. also, don’t date keith.
19.) Who is your favorite family member? (If you have no good blood family members, feel free to mention someone in your found family)
it’s not that i necessarily hate a lot of my family, i just don’t like a lot of them. there’s not a single one that i can pick out and say, yeah, that one is the best one.
so i’ll go with found family. @areallyoldblog, thanks for being the cool sister i never had.
20.) What’s a secret dream of yours?
finding someone who actually loves me back and marrying the fuck out of them.

Sylvester & Suzanne - A Kiddies Kitty - 1955 Merrie Melodies directed by Friz Freleng. Suzanne was a back up comic in Daffy 1956-1960 (and other places). Four Color Shadows blogspot says that Fritz Freeling created Suzanne in a Merry Melodies cartoon and that Al Hubbard ran with it in the comics. Turns out the cartoon is “A Kiddies Kitty” and it features Sylvester, and is on Boomerang under the Tweety & Sylvester section. Probably not a complete list of Suzanne comics. This is from my old blog, I honestly LOVE lists (and writing in bullets for some strange reason). Random and sporadic on topics and the numbers have NO MEANING. I'm NOT ordering them from most fave to least fave, just how they come to mind.
Also keynotes: Favorites doesn't always mean Favorites just what I enjoy the most. And there will be duplication at times
(Side note: Let's update this list from before as it's been two years and see what has changed. * means updated)
-Me- (Just little stuff I figured I'd do. Wasn't even supposed to be a list XD) 1. I'm a Major Introvert, I don't like to socialize with others in real life and prefer to do so online 2. I'm a major procrastinator 3. I mainly work nights so I get to sleep during the day 4. I want to make more friends online yet I have a hard time reaching out. The last time I interacted online was on DeviantArt and FFN years ago 5. I'm pretty much online all day/night on my nights off 6. Eye doctors have told me I have a rare blue-grey-green hazel (Is it true that it’s rare I don’t know) eyes so they tend to change between these three colors or be a mixture at times. Lately I think my eyes are just grey which takes on different green and/or blue shades

Thanks @pocketshellfie and @mossy-selfinsert for tagging me!
Answer these questions and tag 20 blogs you’d like to know better!
Nickname: Colbs (used by friends usually) or Colbey Lynn (used by family exclusively)
Zodiac: leo
Height: 5'2"
Time: 3:40pm
Favorite band/artist: Breaking Benjamin, Volbeat, Three Days Grace, Lemon Demon, Tally Hall, Buckcherry, Set it Off, Autoheart, Panic at the Disco, Mother Mother, I could go on forever tbh...
Song stuck in my head: Cabinet Man by Lemon Demon
Last movie I saw: Strange Magic
Last thing I googled: Can rats eat strawberries (I want my boys to have a good diet.... Cjdkdkaj)
Other blogs: Main Blog: @slowpokegamer Elder Scrolls blog: @scamp-on-a-lamp Fallout blog: @yesman-mems Gore Blog: @thatonefreakshow and I'm an artist for @.badlydrawnpbghardcore
Do I get asks: Not usually, but I'm always open to them and when I do get them it makes me very happy hh ❤️
Why did I choose this username: I have a hard time feeling big romantic feelings for people, so this blog is a nod to the characters that somehow managed to steal my heart
Following: 523
Average amount of sleep: maybe like 4 of 5 hours on a normal day? On depressive days the hours can range from 3 hours to over 12 hours
Lucky number: 3
What am I wearing: a gray t shirt and my boxers
Dream job: an author or an actor in musicals
Dream trip: Take me on a road trip to hunt cryptids and I'll be happy
Favorite food: Chicken and dumplings. Our family recipe is soooo gooooood aaaaaaaaaaaaa
Instruments you play: trombone and euphonium baybee!!! ✌️
Eye color: blue
Hair color: dark blonde turning brown
Describe your aesthetic: Laying in an open field on a warm summer day. The wind blows gently, rustling the tall grass and carrying the distant smell of a river and blooming wild flowers.
Languages you speak: only English. I tried to learn Italian and Spanish but I wasn't able to retain any of it except for a few words
Most iconic song: I have no idea what this is asking hhhj
Random fact: Even though I'm really awkward and have a hard time getting comfortable in new situations, I love acting and preforming. Usually to break the air of awkward tension in rooms I'll try and act silly to lighten it up a bit. This all started in first grade during the Christmas program where I tripped on stage and everyone laughed. My entertainment career started because I was a clumsy child...
And I tag... Anyone who wants to do this! qvq because I'm lazy and can't tag 20 people without feeling bad hkskajgslaj

Sense of Place | Gatwick Airport drone incident
Friday 15th February ____________
Following on from my scamps from yesterday, the first idea I would like to explore is the Gatwick Airport drone incident between 19th - 21st December 2018.
This has quite a lot of personal significance as me and my family were affected by this as we were trying to fly out to Barbados for Christmas. Our flight was cancelled and we had to find emergency accommodation overnight and try again the next day to depart. Fortunately we were able to leave the next day, but hundreds of thousands of others were affected.
In terms of why I think this could be a good idea for this project: - Airports are a central hub for all sorts of cultures, nationalities and types of people. So many people were affected by this, and so many holidays and trips were delayed or cancelled. - I could produce a document all about the incident which could be a collection of newspaper clippings, first hand accounts and photography of the chaos that it caused inside the airport terminals. ____________
Research sources: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gatwick_Airport_drone_incident https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-sussex-46623754 https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-sussex-46640033 https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/uk-england-sussex-46564814 https://www.thetimes.co.uk/edition/news/polices-own-drones-made-gatwick-chaosworse-n53nsrfd3 https://www.nytimes.com/2018/12/27/world/europe/gatwick-airport-drone.html https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=14NQbf9m2VU

GRAPS AND CLAPS REVIEWS FUTURESHOCK RELOADED 4
Hello everyone!! Welcome to the review of Show 96 of the #100showyear which took me to the quaint venue of 53two in Manchester under the arches of Deansgate featuring Jay Lethal vs Xander Cooper & T-Bone vs Champion Ashton Smith in a Manchester Bullrope Match.
Arriving in Manchester at around 3pm it gave me a little bit of time to sample some of the pubs in the city which I don't get to visit that often for a change. Constantly travelling into Manchester it is sometimes hard to get away from the same old boozers and you end up feeling like Groundhog Day.
First port of call was going to be The Brink but for some reason the shutters were down, even though it said on the door open from 12 Noon, but when it is open this pub has been a great addition to the scene with all the drinks locally sourced for nearby breweries at a cost of £3 - £4 a pint.
So with that pub shut, I walked across the road to The Gas Lamp which as you go down the stairs, makes it look like you are visiting one of them old war shelters - very rustic. A good range of beer and bottles are on offer here but I do feel over the last year or so that the prices have shot up a bit, either that or I'm just a tightarse. A pint of 4.2% Brewsmith pale was had here at a cost of £3.30 a pint - ok pint but nothing outstanding.
A short walk down Deansgate took me to The Cask Bar which is another small boozer offering a number of belgian lagers, cask ale and a good jukebox. Here I had a pint of Thornbridge 4.8% Lucifer Ale at a cost £3.70, which was like most Thornbridge drinks - a safe pair of hands.
Next up was the Knott bar which has had a change around with its beer taps with the keg drinks now on the back wall with a range of 25 keg beer which is maybe if not the biggest in Manchester. 2/3rds of a Blackjack 7% Double IPA at a cost of £4.70 and a pint of 4% Dan's Brewery Ekuanot Ale were had here and I would say the 7% Double IPA won the days drinking with a smooth fruity taste this was a very good IPA.
With the clock ticking at 510pm, we decided to try a new bar which we have never been before, which was Lock 91 on Deansgate. This is very cubihole in size with a bar and two small seating areas, drink prices were £3 for Coors, £4.95 for Pravha and Wolf Rock respectively, I went for a pint of the Wolf Rock which was decent. Maybe I will visit this drinking hole again if fancying a change from the norm.
Arriving at 53two it was time to take my front row seat on the woodenless floor so no ear deafening stamping like a elephant (thanks to Simon) for the evening. A crowd of just over 100 were in attendance for what initially on paper looked a good card still despite the withdrawal of Kenny Williams who was missing due to 'circumstances', so lets see what went down.
First up was a legacy tournament match with Futureshock academy graduate JJ Webb facing The Nordic Islands No.1 Accountant Thomas Wolfe. This was an ok start to proceedings with Wolfe getting the upper hand early on his opponent, until 6 minutes in JJ made the comeback working on Wolfe's leg and then locked in the crab to make Wolfe Howl enough for the surprise tapout victory.
Mr Long Legs Abel Stevens was out next complaining about how shit Christmas is and how over hyped it is, I could see out of the corner of my eye Halloweens No.1 fan Shauna was nodding in approval.
Abel offered anyone in the back to come out and challenge him to a match for the evening prompting 'The One Man Blackpool Bin Man' James Drake to come out. This was a good 10 minute match with both guys getting in a good amount of offence, but it was Drake who would get the win here and then proceed to stuff Abel in the black bin to add insult to injury. Many a photo opportunity was had here with people in Drake shirts to rub further salt in the wound for Abel.
Drake as a good guy I am a big fan of more than his heel persona in Progress, maybe because he is a bit outshined next to Heel magnet Zack Gibson. But good guy Drake is going to go places.
3rd match was Joey Hayes facing an uphill task, once the sound of stomps and sirens sounded with the Monster Cyanide making his entrance. This was like one of them 1990s Big Van Vader batterings with Cyanide dominating for 98% of the match with Joey trying to make the valiant but to no avail as he succoumbed to the Choke Backbreaker more commonly known as 'TOXIC DEATH'. Cyanide could be well due for a title shot soon.
Half time main event was Adrenaline Champion Xander Cooper vs ROH Star Jay Lethal. This went well over 15 minutes in an excellent encounter despite the occassional interference from Bobby Gage who was told by Xander at the start of the match that he didn't want Little Daddy Walter to help him. But it was with Gage's help in the end in which Xander picked up the victory over Lethal and he now goes on to face Will Ospreay at the year end show in Prestwich on the 28th December. Certainly watch this back on demand, probably Xanders best match in Futureshock and another in the line of Adrenaline Title corkers - maybe the best title in the UK at the moment from a match quality standard.
Legacy tournament time with that young scamp Bubblegum replacing Kenny Williams, Gum was playing the cocky Man City Heel that is still great today as it was a couple of years ago when I first saw it, it shows the talent of the guy. His opponent was Former Adrenaline Champion Soner Durson who had to keep one eye on his arch nemesis Sam Bailey who was doing commentary sat behind me.
As you can guess shenanigans a plenty with Bailey ringing the timekeepers bell whilst Durson was trying to get the win. Which prompted Soner to get distracted enough to fall to Bubblegum and a loss inside 15 minutes. As expected this was a fantastic match between two of the North Wests best all around.
We were supposed to have Womens title actiom next with Champion Lana Austin facing Molly Spartan in a rematch from a couple of months ago. But Lana was attacked from behind at the entrance way by the former Bete Noire and her and Spartan beat poor Lana down and promptly throw their names in the hat for a possible title match.
Main event with Ashton Smith and T-Bone was originally build as a Title Chain match but was changed to a Bullrope match due to the local B&Q not stocking Chains on a Sunday. Bullrope matches tend to be slow affairs but this was far from it, with both Ashton Smith and T-Bone making a lot of use of the outside areas including the hardest part of many sides of the ring.
With the tension reaching fever pitch at the 15 minute marker with the scores at 3-3, it got tense for the fight for the 4th buckle but it was Ashton who booted Bone out of the way to jump and hit the 4th buckle to regain his title. Cracking main event and a fitting end to a decent show.
Drink prices were £4 a pint from a Brightside Brewery ale.
In closing, Futureshock have continued their run of great shows this year and I would go as far to say it has been up there in the UK Promotion of the Year stakes on the quiet.
You have a consistently hot crowd, a secondary title which has been put on the same pedestal as the main title. Around £12-£15 General entry, good matches and the cream of the North West scene mixed with some of the more familiar UK names.
Make sure you go and get a ticket for theor December 28th show at Prestwich or even go and see one of theirs show next year, you won't be unhappy #grapsandclaps.
