A Fever in Spring
Chapter 4: Not in the Forecast
Chapter 1 | Chapter 2 | Chapter 3 | Chapter 4
Pairing(s): Sasaki x Miyano, Kagiura x Hirano
Genre: Fluff
Chapter Word Count: 1.8K
Status: Ongoing
Chapter Summary: With Miyano effectively sidelined by worrying himself sick, things start to transpire between Hirano and Kagiura which neither saw coming.
EXCERPT
If Hirano tensed, it was but a split second and not enough to draw his roommate’s notice. He lowered himself slowly back into place respecting the daily 10 second rule of contact they’d imposed. He breathed shallowly against Kagiura’s chest as he felt the reverberation of his every word pass through his own body.
“Uhhh… morning…?” Hirano muttered groggily, suddenly hyper aware of the phenomenon of his own morning breath as he slowly drew his comforter around his face. This gesture had nothing to do with his proximity to his kohai (of which he also became keenly aware) or the inquisitive finger that hung between them. It may have had a little to do with camouflaging a delicate warmth that had blossomed across his cheeks and was beginning to make its way to his ears… but only maybe.
“I wasn’t-” Kagiura rushed to explain, his eyes wild. Desperate to create space and respect Hirano’s personal boundaries, he pushed himself frantically to the edge of the twin bed they shared.
Hirano shot both hands out to grab Kagiura by the collar just before he tumbled dramatically out of bed, limbs akimbo with a loud thump. The weight of his body dragged Hirano to partially land on his chest, legs still anchored and splayed across the bed. Hirano’s unnaturally curved back drove his chin into Kagiura’s collarbone.
Kagiura’s breath caught in his throat as he processed the unprecedented contact. “I-I guess I better start counting…” he breathed, raising his hands defensively as if caught in the midst of a crime.
--
“I-I can feel it…” Miyano gasped, his eyes blurring as his temperature spiked.
“What? Oh honey,” Yuki Miyano sighed as she pulled the back of her hand from her son’s forehead. “I wonder if someone else can cover that client presentation today…”
Recovering from his daze, Miyano shook his head of his thoughts, certain whatever euphoria had overcome him was a product of his own fever. “Mom, I’m fine. Just some meds and rest, you can’t miss that. Besides, you’ve been working so hard.”
Yuki looked worriedly into big, pleading eyes. “Yoshi-chan…” she trailed off.
“I’m perfectly capable of looking after myself. It’s just a fool’s cold, after all! I’ll be right as rain tomorrow, Mom. Promise.”
Yuki weighed her options to better compromise. Her husband would be out of town for two more days and this was, effectively, her busy season. “If you can finish breakfast and your morning meds, I’ll be back before your second dose. I can leave right after my offsite presentation and bring lunch!”
“You don’t have to do that…” Miyano halfheartedly rolled his eyes as beads of sweat gathered along his frail neck.
“I’m your mother, Yo. Let me mother,” she smiled, caressing the side of his damp face. “You’ll be off to college before I know it. Besides, you always get so cute when you’re sick. How many more times will I get to see this side of you?”
“Never again.” Miyano responded flatly. He grimaced, as she swiftly refreshed his fever patch. She was enjoying this too much which caused his face to scrunch up cutely, inspiring a mirthful laugh from his mother. “I’m never going to be sick again.”
“Exactly. Why would I want to miss a moment if it can be helped!” she smiled discarding the used patch as Miyano pouted. “If you need me, I’m only a call away. Be strong while I’m gone!” she called as she left his room to prepare for work.
--
“Ugh, it’s fine,” Hirano groaned, breaking the silence as he pushed himself off of Kagiura who’d gone still beneath him.
“No, I mean... This counts. I would never want to press you for contact outside of… the ten seconds. I wasn’t going to then either.” Kagiura breathed. Brazenly, he relaxed his arms, which had been raised in a mock surrender, to fall gently across Hirano’s back in an embrace.
“10.” Kagiura began quietly.
Hirano turned his sharp eyes inward toward Kagiura’s Adam’s apple, uncertain where else to look with such proximity.
“9.” With this, Kagiura had settled his arms comfortably in an arrangement that felt… natural.
“8.” he smiled shyly, disbelieving that this was how they were spending their 10 seconds. He’d have been content with a handhold.
“Then. Then? I wish you’d explain that finger then…” Hirano thought, rolling his eyes and glad his face was obscured. He wasn’t sure how Kagiura would interpret the gesture and, these days, he was very sensitive to Hirano’s everything.
“7. Is it.. okay if I move a bit?”
“Is the question another second?” Hirano considered dryly before answering. “Within reason.”
“6.” With Hirano’s probationary permission granted, Kagiura delicately lowered one hand across the small of his back. “Like lovers,” he rationalized internally.
Hirano was unmoved so he didn’t throw a flag on the play but questioned if this was all Kagiura had in mind when he envisioned a relationship with one another.
“5.” Kagiura swallowed nervously.
The swallow passed through his Adam’s apple which Hirano’s gaze had been trained upon for quite some time. With his weight partially on Kagiura, it felt like he had front row seats to his every bodily function. Such that he could hear the onset of Kagiura gathering the spit in his mouth, hear the swish as it made its way down his throat and pass into oblivion down the rest of his digestive system. From a scientific standpoint, he was somewhat intrigued if only to similarly hear, quite loudly, the persistent beat of his heart and the air swelling in his lungs. “Digestive, cardiovascular, respiratory… what other systems are at play in this moment?” he pondered, seemingly trying to busy himself for the remaining seconds.
“4.” Kagiura’s voice cracked subtly as he painstakingly began to drag his other hand up Hirano’s spine feeling the imperceptible knots of his vertebrae through the thin fabric of his night shirt.
Hirano’s eyes widened. “I guess even at this distance, I still can’t hear the wheels turning up there, can I?” he surmised, pondering how far Kagiura was going to press in these 10 seconds.
“3.” As Kagiura’s open palm finally reached the base of Hirano’s neck, he marveled in how soothed he felt with his senpai wrapped in his arms. This was what he wanted. The safety and affection that his parents had for one another as it extended between he and Hirano. So much so that he willed his intentions to bleed through his very fingertips.
Hirano’s sighed against Kagiura’s chest, waiting to run out the clock on this experiment until-
“2.” Briefly, Kagiura drew his fingers into a grab of sorts. His palm, no longer against Hirano’s neck, twisted a bit like the squeeze of a massage that allowed the tips of his fingers to lightly scratch at the skin just below the back of Hirano’s collar.
Hirano’s eyes widened minutely. He could feel the hairs on the back of his neck raise in protest… or something as Kagiura’s finger pads danced lazily across his skin. Still. Nothing that would cause him to tell Kagiura to stop.
“1.” Kagiura whispered as he raised all but two fingers from Hirano’s neck which gently carved a thin line against the grain of his nape and into the thick of his hair. Deliberately, he applied slightly more pressure as his remaining three fingers combed through blonde bedhead. As his digits united in the mess of hair, they pointed, nail downward, and spread outward until his palm lay flat against Hirano’s skull.
Hirano shivered slightly at the sudden change in sensation. The air between them felt charged with such an intimate hold. His eyes slowly moved left to right as he considered how best to untangle himself from the gentle hands of his kohai so his movements were on a similar level of consideration. To shirk and rush away felt like it would incredibly insensitive and would not return the energy he felt was bestowed upon him appropriately. It felt… at odds with his expectations in the sense that nothing that transpired pushed any boundaries at all. Rather, he felt incredibly comfortable. “Not that Kagi-kun would ever do anything inappropriate or harmful. I suppose I figured this would somehow be off-putting. Though, since the institution of the 10 second rule, Kagi-kun’s never done anything that didn’t feel perfectly fine.”
Kagiura didn’t know what to do with the extra time that seemed to pass between his fingers. He’d counted down and Hirano didn’t make a move. It was almost enough to make him think he’d enjoyed these 10 seconds… almost. Even so, he considered the delicate balance at work within these stolen moments. Beneath Hirano, he couldn’t exactly do anything to separate them. He could remove his arms from his back but what was that going to do? But maybe, just maybe- “No, the 10 seconds have ended. I have to respect that. If he’s ever going to miss my touch, it’ll have to be because of the absence of it, right? Is that what Niibashi was getting at?” he wrestled internally as he lightly loosened his grasp.
“Hiranooo, Kagiuraaa, everything alright? I heard a crash!” the unmistakable singsong voice of their dorm head bled under the door, effectively punctuating the moment.
Hirano rose with a start as Kagiura’s arms fell from around him. “We’re fine!” they yelled in unison as they both wondered whether Hirano’s sudden scramble back onto his bed sounded as suspicious on the other side of the door.
“Just checkinggg,” Hanzawa drawled cheekily.
“At least you’re up now, Kagi-kun,” Hirano exhaled trying to behave as normally as possible. He fell flat on his back, back onto his bed, his arms spread in a T-pose.
“Yea,” Kagiura breathed from the floor. His body remembering the feeling of his senpai’s upper body pressed into him. His arms splayed wistfully as he processed the interaction.
Moments passed in silence. The sounds from the hall seemed to echo within the quiet of their room as the early risers began preparing for early breakfasts, lectures, practices or meetings.
“Shouldn’t you… get ready for practice?” Hirano asked, his eyebrows knit curiously.
“Yea.” Kagiura nodded still unable to accept his fortuitous luck today.
Still, no movement came from below. Hirano shook his head wondering if Kagiura had actually managed to fall back asleep before rolling to peer over the side of his bed. He snorted at the dazed smile that spread from ear to ear on his roommate’s face. “You’re going to be late,” he couldn’t help but smile as he grabbed his pillow and lightly launched it at the younger boy.
“Yea, yea,” Kagiura chuckled. “I could run a marathon right now,” his thoughts brought another silly grin to his face. Practice was going to be a breeze.

Had anyone ever noticed that in the manga(idk if it's the same in the anime) Sasaki’s eyes are normally lifeless when he's not around anyone and before he met Miyano? I'm not sure if it's just me but I just noticed that lol.

A Fever in Spring
Chapter 3: An Impossibly Warm Front
Chapter 1 | Chapter 2 | Chapter 3 | Chapter 4
Pairing(s): Sasaki x Miyano, Kagiura x Hirano
Genre: Fluff
Chapter Word Count: 1.1K+
Status: Ongoing
Chapter Summary: Things unexpectedly begin to heat up as Sasaki leaves no room to question where he stands in his feelings for Miyano. Kagiura learns the only reward for good work... is more work.
EXCERPT
Hirano’s sharp blue eyes blinked open with a start, shocked to not only be face-to-face with his wide eyed kohai but also to be keenly aware of the heat emanating from his hand which hung right before him. A heat that must have been contagious from the way it burned across Hirano’s nose and cheeks.
A/N: I made an outline for this series before I started writing it but, when I got to this chapter, I couldn’t figure out where to nestle it in the cadence of the “Hirano to Kagiura” storyline since the winding path of their relationship progressed so differently from poor Sasaki and Miyano’s. Ultimately, their timelines sync up somewhere before episode 5 of "Sasaki and Miyano" and just after Chapter 18 of "Hirano to Kagiura" so I just had to wait for that chapter to drop! Patience is a virtue and allat.
You don't need to have read "Hirano to Kagiura" for this chapter to make sense as enough is explained satisfactorily... hopefully. But read it anyway because it's delightful.
TL;DNR: Sorry for the wait, I’m awkward and indecisive but you can pretend I had a much more interesting excuse for the delay if you want to.
The white noise of rain filled the space between Hirano and Kagiura who lay huddled closely around a laptop. The movie had long since ended and the soft glow of the monitor displayed a drifting DVD logo. Kagiura, in the hushed quiet, hoped the sound of the heart pounding in his chest wasn’t disturbing Hirano. Unlike his stern senpai, he found the proximal space they presently shared to be entirely too overwhelming to drift serenely to sleep.
Through the shaggy cut of his bangs, his reticent eyes washed over the glowing contour of Hirano’s face, transfixed by the way the flickering light bounced off the apple of his decidedly high cheekbone. Rebelliously blonde hair spilled across his forehead and pooled beneath a pierced ear.
While his face was long and narrow, his features were far from delicate. To Kagiura, Hirano’s face was more mature than his own which still had a boyish roundness despite his otherwise hulking frame.
In many ways, Kagiura admired Hirano. He was intelligent and disciplined with a surprisingly sharp tongue. His disposition seemed to rest upon a razor’s edge when outside of the dorm, at least when it came to his peers. But, to Kagiura, he was also incredibly kind and thoughtful. He put a lot of thought into his appearance, a clever guise for how studious and by the book he was. But, if you didn’t know him, it’d be hard to appreciate or even recognize this dissonance. So, Kagiura counted himself, thankfully, among those who knew Hirano well.
On a whim, he dragged an arm from beneath the blanket they shared, resting his hand beneath his chin. “Have we ever.. been this close?” he pondered. They’d spent months living together before Kagiura became aware of his feelings for his roommate. Back then, it was a lot more effortless, the casual way they spent time together, hung over one another. But now, everything felt like it held meaning, hope even. Moreso after Kagiura confessed.. once, then twice, then the tens of times after that…
But Hirano never staunchly rejected him. Rather, he met each confession rationally with an unbothered indifference. Initially, that dismissal was almost more crushing than an outright refusal, like Kagiura’s feelings weren’t even registering on his radar. Plus, without Hirano for guidance, Kagiura’s support system to deal with such a heartbreak was either the jocks on his basketball team (who were great when it came to refining his jump shot but not so much matters of the heart) or his classmate Niibashi who was thankfully extremely patient in his counseling and supportively nonjudgmental… mostly. If it hadn’t been for Niibashi’s investment in this budding... whatever it was, Kagiura doubted he’d have gotten this far. “Wait ‘til he hears about this…” he smiled to himself, a disbelieving huff of air pushed through his nose forcefully.
Together, the roommates navigated the awkwardness of Kagiura’s confession, finding some semblance of normalcy, Kagiura’s difficulty in properly explaining his thoughts to Hirano, and, most recently, took on the threat of being split up as roommates.
Lately, they’d put countless hours towards studying to make sure that Kagiura could make the leap from 171st in his class to, at least, the 50th to lock in their dorm arrangement for the next year. Elated that Hirano would still push for them to room together a second year in light of his romantic feelings, Kagiura pressed forward unrelentingly. In the back of his mind, on occasion, but only when he thought he was losing steam studying… he’d allow himself the luxury of questioning whether Hirano wasn’t secretly in love with him, too. Especially, as he became more susceptible to compromising with Kagiura.
Pushing the boundaries between being roommates and doing as lovers do… even if it was only a solitary touch for ten seconds a day. Ultimately, he knew Hirano was just giving into Kagiura’s neediness along with his own need to spoil and pamper but it still made him think he had a chance. Now they lay, squished into one bed for a movie night, a reprieve and reward for Kagiura’s unprecedented commitment to his studies.
Something in the bewitching twilight gave Kagiura the impression that this was what it could be all the time. The thought sent a fresh wave of blood on a victory lap around his cheeks. He withdrew his other hand from the warm comfort between them and scrunched the hem of Hirano’s blanket tightly to his face, as if it could provide adequate camouflage for the feelings that continued to well within him. He took in the light fragrance of detergent and the ever present scent of Hirano’s body wash, something he always marveled he hadn’t become insensitive to. It brought a sense of relaxation, one he found most readily within the privacy of their room and under Hirano’s care.
Perhaps that could be to blame for the long spindly fingers that suddenly found themselves lingering over Hirano’s sleeping face. Apprehensive but intentional in hovering mere millimeters away, an outstretched pointer finger tentatively answered the call of temptation. “What am I doing? That could ruin this…” Kagiura winced ruefully. He’d decided long ago not to break the covenant of their daily ten seconds. Hoping that Hirano would somehow begin to miss the absence of his skin upon him. As if depriving him of a ten second handhold would trick his body into craving Kagiuras touch the same way he found himself craving Hirano’s. It was not a well thought out plan but… he was winging it, after all.
“Maybe… just this once.” Kagiura sighed through his nose, thoughts still waging war as to whether it was worth the first time he felt Hirano’s lips to be something obscenely stolen by his fingertips in the dead of night. But it wasn’t quite the dead of night anymore, a fact he realized all too late just as the first crescendo of Hirano’s alarm began to sound.
--
Miyano rolled over in bed, drenched in a cold sweat. His sleep had been sparse and wracked with anxiety and a feverish post-nasal drip that felt like swallowing razors. Sasaki had done it, put his confession out into the open. There were no if’s, and’s or but’s about his feelings anymore and, while that gave Miyano’s imagination a rest, he now had an entirely new problem to solve. How exactly was he meant to respond?
“Ughh…” he croaked, wondering if his worries could have made himself sick. “If only I hadn’t run in the rain. Better yet, if I hadn’t stayed after school late at all. Maybe Sasaki-senpai wouldn’t have-” his thoughts began spiraling. “I guess I’m staying home today… crap.”

List of Direct Pop Culture References in Season 1 of Jujutsu Kaisen
I kept trying to find a comprehensive list somewhere but couldn't. So, here's one for me.
Ninja Warrior and Mirko Cro Crop (Ep1)
Tumblr media
Sasuke, or Ninja Warrior as it's known as in multiple incarnations, is a sports reality show in which competitors attempt to complete a four-stage obstacle course.
youtube
Mirko Cro Crop is the ring name of Croatian mixed martial artist and kickboxer Mirko Filipović. And yes, Sasaki-senpai does clarify that Mirko's not dead.
Jennifer Lawrence (Ep2)
Tumblr media
This one is possibly the most infamous reference in JJK actually. Of course, Yuuji is referring to American actress, Jennifer Lawrence. Gege Akutami said in the fanbook Yuuji became her fan after seeing Silver Linings Playbook (2012).
youtube
Super Smash Bros. (Ep5)
Tumblr media
When the second years first ask Nobara and Megumi to participate in the Kyoto School Goodwill Exchange Event, Nobara's first thought is a Smash Bros. tournament. She'll use Meteor Smash so you can't get back up. All the better if it's the Wii version.
Tumblr media
Onita (Ep6)
Tumblr media
When Yuuji first starts lamenting his lack of ability to use a Curse Technique, Gojo cuts in that Yuuji can use a power bomb. Because it's something Japanese wrestler Atsushi Onita (who is not a sorcerer as far as we know) can do anyway.
Tumblr media
Shonen power techniques (Ep6 cont.)
Tumblr media
Yuuji then proceeds to list several other abilities from other shonen series. The Spirit Gun from Yu Yu Hakusho, Bankai from Bleach, and Dodon Ray and Kamehameha from Dragon Ball.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lord of the Rings (Ep7)
Tumblr media
For his training on controlling Cursed Energy, Yuuji is made to watch a variety of movies. For the adaptation, the animators interpreted the cry for Sam as a scene from Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001).
youtube
Actually, in the manga, Akutami was referencing I Am Legend (2007). The movie stars Will Smith and his only companion, a dog named Sam, in the middle of a zombie apocalypse. Uh, things don't go well for the dog.
Tumblr media
Gojo's other movies (Ch13)
Additionally, there were a few specific movies Akutami had in mind that wasn't carried over to the anime. (Though, honestly, some of these DVD covers in the anime look so familiar and detailed I suspect they are references to other movies. If anyone can identify any of them lmk!)
Tumblr media
Anyway, here are the ones we know of in the manga!
Léon: The Professional (1994), The Descent (2005), The Host (2006), The Emperor's Naked Army Marches On (1967). And the movie that Gojo spoils about the super annoying heroine who dies spectacularly at the end is Deep Blue Sea (1999). And yes, if you squint and zoom you can see which dvd has the cover for what movie.
Tumblr media
Oikawa Tōru (Ep9)
A blink and you'll miss it stand-in of someone that suspiciously looks like Oikawa Tōru from Haikyuu!!
Tumblr media
Castaway (Ep11)
Tumblr media
Yuuji makes Junpei laugh when the former unexpectedly recreates the scene from Cast Away (2000) when Tom Hanks' character loses his illusory best friend...
Tumblr media
youtube
Neon Genesis Evangelion (Ep11, Juju Stroll)
youtube
This entire Juju Stroll is a parody of Neon Genesis Evangelion episode previews. With shots that are reminiscent of NGE and a dramatic and frantic voiceover. The standout shot to me was the one of Yaga sitting with his hands folded in front of him in classic Gendo Ikari fashion. They even had Yaga sitting over a burning camp stove just so they could get the orange glow reflecting off his glasses. Ha!
Tumblr media
Luncheon on the Grass
Tumblr media
The full convergence of all the characters was completed by episode 13 in the first opening. The idyllic scene is based off of Luncheon on the Grass (aka Le Déjeuner sur l'herbe) by Claude Monet. I like how Panda is in place of the dog.
Tumblr media
I wonder if Todo being half naked here is further reference to the more scandalous, The Luncheon on the Grass, by Édouard Manet which is what Monet's own painting is a direct take on. (That painting depicts a nude woman sitting with two fully dressed gentlemen.) ...Or it could just be Todo being Todo.
Ichiro?! (Ep15)
Tumblr media
Utahime, incensed, tells Gojo to respect his senpai! I'm a bit hesitant about this one, but it may be a reference to Ichiro Suzuki jokingly complaining about not being respected as a senpai during the 2009 World Baseball Classic celebration. Baseball is HUGE in Japan, and the celebration looks wild. It may be iconic enough that it can be casually mentioned and most Japanese would know what Yuuji was talking about. Also, considering the Jujutsu Koshien episode about to come up, it may've been foreshadowing. (Found here)
youtube
Sebastian Stan (Ep15, Juju Stroll)
Tumblr media
Another famous American celebrity! When asked about her type in episode 15's Juju Stroll, Momo was drooling over a picture of Sebastian Stan. Stan is most well known for playing the Winter Soldier/Bucky Barnes in the MCU. I wonder why her answer didn't pass muster with Todo. Maybe she hadn't had the chance?
Pepper (Ep16)
Tumblr media
Nobara, smack-talking to Momo, says the Kyoto school have their own "Pepper-kun" that she should turn into scrap. Mechamaru immediately knew she was referring to himself. 😆 Pepper is the semi-humanoid robot that SoftBank introduced at a conference in 2014.
Tumblr media
Great Teacher Gojo (Ep18)
Tumblr media
Great Teacher Onizuka, aka GTO, is a classic series about a former biker gang member becoming the best teacher to a class of problem children.
Tumblr media
Boogie Woogie
Boogie-woogie is a genre of music, but Todo's Cursed Technique, "Boogie Woogie" is specifically a reference to boxer, Muhammad Ali, who was recorded playing boogie-woogie on camera. (Which ties into an even more extensive reference regarding his mentor. But I won't spoil it here for anime-onlys.) I dare say, Todo's attitude may be a bit Ali inspired too. Haha
youtube
Ma-kun of Tohoku (Ep21)
Tumblr media
When up to bat during Jujutsu Koshien, Nobara says people call her "the Ma-kun of Tohoku" which... doesn't make sense, since Masahiro Tanaka (affectionately called "Ma-kun" by fans) is already a baseball player for the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles. 😂
Additional trivia: JJK did a collab with the Rakuten Eagles in September of 2022.
Game of Life (Ep24)
Tumblr media
And finally, we end the season with some of our villains playing The Game of Life board game. That spinner, colors, and design are pretty unmistakable. Something extra I spotted is that Choso already managed to get married!
*Edit: Had to include this link to officially licensed JJK Game of Life.
Tumblr media
Aaand that's everything, I think. But let me know if I missed anything!
*Edit 7/23:
Gojo Satoru's Go Go Gojo! (Ep6)
The Juju Stroll at the end of episode 6 references the Igo/Go game series Hikaru no Go. At the end of Hikaru no Go episodes were post-episode segments called "Umezawa Yukari's Go Go Igo!"
Props to r/sofastsomaybe for pointing this out, because like a fool, I dismissed the Go reference as a coincidence.
youtube
Anne Sullivan, Helen Keller, and Inoki (Ep15)
During Todo's nichijo fantasy of himself and Yuuji, Todo quotes, "What fool thinks of defeat before even trying?" Incorrectly attributing the quote to something teacher Anne Sullivan said to disability activist, Helen Keller. Todo is actually paraphrasing pro-wrestler, mixed martial artist, Antonio Inoki. Who said, "What kind of idiot thinks about losing before [the match]?" during a pre-match interview.
youtube
Seishun Amigo (Ep15)
At the end of that same daydream, with tears and snot streaming down his face, Todo says, "'In our hometown we were invincible,' huh." (地元じゃ負けしらず) Which are a part of lyrics from the popular song, "Seishun Amigo" (青春アミーゴ) by Shūji to Akira. "Seishun" means "youth" and "amigo" of course being the Spanish word for "friend."
Amusingly, I found this JJK fan cover video of the song. Lyrics translation included.
youtube
The two references above were found thanks to Aki Tanaka.

Yuuji No. 3
Image taken from Ch. 1 of Jujustu Kaisen, by Gege Akutami (found on Viz Media's Shonen Jump webpage).
Image Description: The image is a clipped, black and white manga panel. It depicts the faces of (left to right) Setsuko Sasaki, Yuuji Itadori, and Takeshi Iguchi. They are laughing with silly expressions. (Yuuji's eyes are each depicted as three lines facing inwards, like crow's feet.) In the background is the school council president, who has his right hand up as he has just slammed open the door to the club room Yuuji and his friends are in with an angry expression. A cloud-shaped speech bubble is to the right of Yuuji's head, stating "What?!" in italics, with "A fish?!" below it in smaller letters. A cut-off onomatopoeia (or giongo) reading "SLAM!" is above the president. At the bottom of the panel is an onomatopoeia reading "BWA HA HA HA!" A wall lined with rectangular shelves full of files is in the background.
