The dad that stepped up
Another hound sketch lol
I’ve spent the last few months without drawing so I’ve been focusing on drawing new poses and characters I usually don’t draw (like the hound)
Hopefully soon I’ll be able to post a nice fully rendered drawing :)
I’ve been focusing on my painting also and really want to paint Alicent and Rhaenyra so that might apear soon.
Im overwhelmed by the amount to people liking my drawings!! Thank you very much for the love :)

Show Jaime:
“I know I just slept with Brienne who I have a deep attachment to, and I’m about six seasons deep into a redemption arch but Ima peace out and get crushed by rocks with my sister wife”
Book Jaime literally in the middle of reading a letter from Cersei begging him to come and save her:
“I wonder what brienne is doing right now”

The Hound had hacked handfuls of her hair off only two days past. He was an even worse barber than Yoren, and he’d left her half bald on one side. Robb won’t know me either, I bet. Or even Mother. She had been a little girl the last time she saw them, the day Lord Eddard Stark left Winterfell.

Interviewer: You have great foils for your characters, like Jaime travels with Brienne of Tarth. And there are other pairings, like Arya with the Hound. Do you consciously think of creating foils?
George: Well, drama arises out of conflict, so you like to put together two characters who are very different from each other and stand back and watch the sparks fly. That gets you better dialogue and better situations.

“Arya wouldn’t have survived what Sansa went through at the Red Keep” And exactly why? Because she’s an angry girl that can’t shut her mouth and that would’ve gotten her killed? Bullshit
Are we talking about the same girl who managed to escape the Red Keep and lived undercover for days while her father was imprisoned, without reveling her identity to any of the guards that were constantly searching for her? The same girl who managed to keep her identity hidden and traveled with criminals for weeks? The same girl who survived being one of The Mountain’s captives? The same girl who then survived Harrenhal, where she was smart enough to keep her identity hidden from Roose Bolton (who at that time was believed to be one of Robb’s allies) because she couldn’t be sure she would be taken to her family if he knew who she was? The same girl who helped Hot Pie and Gendry escape Harrenhal, the largest castle in the Seven Kingdoms, when she heard Vargo Hoat would take over, and freed the Northmen as well? The same girl who then was taken by the Brotherhood without Banners, and then kidnapped by Sandor Clegane? The same girl that had to watch the body of her older brother, a man she admired, being paraded around as his “allies” cheered on? The same girl that escaped Westeros and managed to get to Braavos (granted she got a free trip to Essos because of Jaqen’s coin, but up until she got to the ship she didn’t have any help)? The same girl who was then taken in and forced to give up everything she had and was? The same girl who was treated almost like a slave there? The same girl that was beaten and belittled? The same girl that was blinded and was forced to get used to life without vision? The same girl that, somehow, survived and endured until that point, outsmarting grown ups and finding “shortcuts” to ensure her survival?
You’re telling me that same girl wouldn’t have been smart enough to survive Cersei and Joffrey, people who she had figured out shortly after meeting them and knew what to do or not do to push their buttons, because she’s good at reading people? She wouldn’t have survived what Sansa survived?
At least Sansa was safe until Robb’s death, because she was a hostage and if something bad where to had happened to her, it would’ve caused outrage on the North. She was the Lannisters’ safety net, of course she wouldn’t have been killed, no matter how crazy Joffrey was —even he was aware of it, and it’s clear when you read her chapters. I’m obviously not trying to take away Sansa’s trauma because she was abused and humiliated in the Red Keep by Joffrey, but there was always someone who intervened (especially after Tyrion married her); that’s a sense of security that Arya never have because no one knew who she was— if she somehow made the wrong move she would’ve been killed, no time to get help from someone or try to prove who she actually was because people wouldn’t have believed her. She was in constant danger and not even being Ned Stark’s daughter was of any help, if anything it put an even bigger target on her back.
So yes, Arya would’ve one hundred percent survived what Sansa went through, because she went through so much worse without having the “privilege” of her parentage to protect her. Stop watering down Arya’s intelligence just because you know Sansa would’ve died on day one if she had been on Arya’s shoes without the privilege of being a lady.

i hate that the general public has the ideia that sandor only sees sansa as a "little sister" and has a stronger bond with arya… got did irreparable damage to society
I get far less mad at the "He's closer to Arya" thing when the people saying it are honest about refering solely to show as that's the only version of the story they've consumed. What I cannot stand is the people that only watched the show and then try to use it as evidence to claim Sandor was closer to Arya IN THE BOOKS THEY'VE NEVER EVEN FUCKING READ!
Buddy, in the books he beat, threatened and insulted her every other paragraph. He HAD moments of campassion towards her, and Arya did take notice and retribute it sometimes, but their dynamic is overwhelmingly negative and toxic. They're not friends, he doesn't see her as someone dear to him, and Arya was 110% justified in leaving him to die - something Sandor himself acknowledges.
Don't get me wrong, I do believe has good in him, and that he will BECOME a good person, as that's clearly what's being set up, but for 90% of the story he is an absolute bastard, even when actively trying to be nice to the Stark girls - and he has ALWAYS put way more effort to be gentler towards Sansa than he ever did to anyone else on Earth, Arya very much included.
He talks about her all the time, makes his romantic/sexual interest in her very clear, and cries on his "death" about how he failed to protect her. More importantly, while he DID threaten Sansa when offering to rescue her, he was in the middle of a PTSD episode, and all it took for him to breakdown crying and leave her alone was her singing a song about mercy. He never bonded with Arya on that level or ever got even close to respecting her wish to not be around him like he did with Sansa.
And let's not forget why Sansa sang to him: because Sandor demanded a LOVE SONG about the fool-turned-knight that rescued the pretty girl and then became her lover. He wants to be Sansa's hero and wants her to LOVE him. He almost kissed her during that whole mess, and George R.R. Martin has Sansa misremember the event to include an actual kiss, because Sansa was, in his own words, "correcting" that moment - not by ignoring all the awful parts of it mind you, but by making Fantasy!Sandor act on his obvious attraction to her, because the fact that he didn't was more important in her head than him literally threatening her life.
In case that last bit didn't make obvious: the book was not subtle about Sandor NOT thinking of Sansa as his "little sister", but as the object of his lust/love AND the poor, innocent maiden that is waiting for a true knight to rescue her and safely take her back to her family's castle - and despite her not being reckless enough to run off with such an unstable man, Sansa DOES have feelings for him too. Hell, even the show wasn't always unwilling to go there, as they do have some moments that scream "there's something there"
I REALLY need to make a whole separate post on how GOT completely destroyed Sansa and Arya (plus Sandor) as characters, and how their dynamics with "The Hound" were all wrong since Dumb & Dumber clearly didn't get that they were not supposed to side with Sandor's "everyone is awful, so all awful things are justified" mentality.

the stark sibs tendency for falling for traitors if you're willing to tweak interpretation and squint. oh, robb with his squid boyfriend who sold him out for possibility (!) of daddy's attention. oh, jon who fell for littlefinger's spy. oh, sansa and her dog who didn't stay when she needed him. oh, arya and her stubborn bull who sees the monstrosity of her mother and yet does nothing. oh, bran and meera who will have to choose between a friend and brother.
