Something something the REAL reason the Lycyors are named for their cavaliers traits are because they are slowly receiving those traits. Permeability of the soul. Gideon 1 became Saint of DUTY because of ex cop phyrra bleeding into him. What this says about Augustine Saint of Patience patiently waiting 10,000 -18 years to betray God. What this says about Mercymorn I dont know. But it brings another sinister level because JOD is the one who started it. He KNOWS he has to know about their permeability of the soul on some level he has to know and it makes letting them go though with it even more evil. He let them not just kill their cavaliers but themselves

G1deon would have been Harrow's favourite Lyctor if he wasn't trying to kill her(which he did to save Harrow.) Harrow WAS G1deon's favourite living Lyctor, Harrow made soup full of stuff he didn't like, and he ate it, even though he is completely willing to walk out of dinners. Harrow is the only one that isn't either narcissistic or a religious atheist stopped clock. Harrow and G1deon both weren't social people, they both loved Jod (platonically) in a way that wasn't either full of hatred or Ianthe.

I’ve posted my John and Pyrrha!gideon here before but I think this is the first time I’ve posted Mercy and Augustine!

John said he ment for the saint name to reflect the caviler rather than the necromancer. (I can't find the exact quote in harrow)

But I think it's more complicated than that

I think that the appellation was the feeling the cav inspired in the necromancer.

C brought M joy. When M was with her best friend, she was expressivly happy even though with everyone else she was critical

Jr brought A patience. When A was with his young brother A was patient, even though he had no time for anyone else's ( except johns) bullshit

And P inspired G's sence of duty. P was the only other person (besides john) who could make do anything he didn't want to do.

I know y’all love to draw super buff New Rho Pyrrha, but wasn’t G1deon’s physique described as “lemons in a sack” in HtN ( so like muscly but also still scrawny)?

the tlt fandom may refer to him as g1deon, but in my heart i know that gideon calls him gide-one

The Sleeper whipped her baton into the side of Nonius's face, sending him staggering, and followed up with a vicious knife thrust to his belly; he turned it with the thick part of his blade, but awkwardly, and the Sleeper managed to knee him in the flank and score the knife's point down his sword arm for good measure before he shoved her away and fell into guard.

So the Unwanted guest has given me Pyrrha thoughts that makes me so so emo. If souls are permeable and the lyctor takes from the cavalier over time until parts of them eventually can’t be separated, then that means the person G1deon became was because of Pyrrha. He became Gods attack dog because of what he absorbed from Pyrrha!!

In the John chapters in NtN G1deon feels very different, still loyal to a fault but, he seems less hardened a little more squishy. The same could be said about Pyrrha. Pre-resurrection she was a cop and almost every example of her behaviour she’s yelling at someone, calling them out, telling them they need to toughen up and get thicker skin. Pyrrha also said in HtN that G1deon absorbed more of her than Harrowhark did Gideon.

So this means G1deon took the hardest parts of Pyrrha, the parts that were ruthless and determined. The stuff that made her the perfect soldier. Than when he dies at the end of HtN Pyrrha is left alone, in a body she didn’t want, as the softest version of herself. She felt so much harder for Wake, Nona, Palamedes and Cam, and those feelings of love scared her so bad. And I’m Ntn she’s trying so hard to be that old person and hold it all together, and she feels like she’s failing, but really she’s just succeeding at loving and taking care of people as best she can. Pyrrha is the loving person we know her as because G1deon took the worst parts of her and left her at her best and I’m going to scream.

8. What project(s) are you currently working on?

i kinda bounce between each of my established wip's without much reason, so sort of all of them? rn happily drown is taking up most of my brainspace, but i'm also havin a time adding bits & pieces to nepotism = profit & the g1deon-centric fic from the same poll (whose wip title is sort of up in the air, bc both options are way too long but im unfortunately attached.) (actually, all of my other wip titles are way too long. they're all jokes is why)

(the options for the wip title are "g- reviews ur apocalypse playlist" or "music to be devoured by an RB to", which tells you everything you need to know hshshsjhsjsh)

ooh that's tough...after a brief bracket fight in my brain, i think it would have to be bad, bad news bc i feel that it's batshit enough to be interesting in a visual medium lol. especially harrow's impromptu meeting w/ g1deon & the ways you could toy w/ her conflating gideon & the body

Gideon raises an eyebrow, “Ianthe, I think that if a human sized blender was ever presented to you, I would be the first person you’d consider putting in it.” Ianthe makes a considering face. “Maybe you’d be the second,” she allows, “Babs would be first.” “Babs would be first,” Corona agrees immediately, sidling up beside Gideon in order to link their arms and lean into her for support. “I invited you,” she deftly changes the subject, “Ianthe’s just grumpy because the person she invited can’t make it.” “Yowch,” Gideon winces, mildly sympathetic, “your date to your dads funeral ghosted you?” “So to speak,” Ianthe grinds out, and then takes a long drag from her cigarette.
